Actually, you're quite wrong. First of all the situation is not "BOOM heres ds like it or die". If you want to stick with your GBA that's fine. It's got quite a bit of life left in it. The Minish Cap was just released, Donkey Kong: King of Swing, Fire Emblem 2, WarioWare Twisted!, and a new PokeMon are all coming out in '05.

Just because there is a new system doesn't mean they'll stop supporting the old ones. Well, usually it does. But not in this case. DS isn't a succesor to GBA, just think of it as a completely different entity.

Anyway, even if they did stop support. You have a whole library of old games you'll always have at your fingertips.

Blinky's right. The coming of the DS does not mean the end of the GBA, by any means. The GBA is still being supported by Nintendo, and I assume that they'll keep releasing new games for the system for a while. It's not like you're being forced to buy a DS right away, anyway. If anything, I'd say to hold out on buying it for a while until more great games come out for the system.

And the GBA has been out for a few years, too. I don't know how long it takes you to 'enjoy' a system, but a few years is quite a while in the gaming industry lol.

And don't forget one critical point. GBA has a library of thousands of titles by now (including older GB games as well).

Can you afford all of those games? Probably not. What I'm saying is that even if GBA support died tomorrow, it's not as if there is nothing to buy. GBA probably has more variety than any game system ever made. I know that if I only owned a GBA, I'd still be buying games years into the future, simply because I can't afford every good Game Boy game that comes along.
