I recently finished Tales of Symphonia, and i was very :( Disappointed by the ending. I think that they should make a second Tales of Symphonia and i think that they should also make it into anime as well. But can you please tell me what endings have disappointed from video games. :p

So, do you want to talk about Tales of Symphonia, or game endings that disappointed you? Your thread title is extremely misleading o_O;

I'll edit the title and keep the thread going in case people would like to post about this subject. Be forewarned that everyone should use spoiler tags when discussing crucial points of a game, especially the ending.

[*spoiler]text[*/spoiler] <---- Spoiler Tags, except you don't put the asterisks in the tags when you actually want to use them.

I was kind of disappointed by the end of KungFU for the NES. Thomas goes through all this trouble to save Sylvia (the love of his life) and beat the snot out of Mr. X and his goons only to let her get captured again. This time the bad guys are faster and harder to beat but what does Sylvia do to reward you for saving her twice...More hearts!!! Aww, man I hope that it means double the lovin' or something because she gets captured yet again afterward, seemingly in mere moments. Really id Thomas were smart he would have just stayed on the fifth floor of the tower and saved himself the trouble of having to keep walking up there and saving her. It would also help the stickfighter to have some pride, because he goes down easy every time.

Of course if you've beaten it more than 4 times through maybe something different happens...

One bad ending to a game was dracula or "D" for computer. you go through the whole game and when you get to Dracula u put a bullet in his heart and the game just ends... that really annoyed me..

Another bad ending to a game was all of Fight Clubs endings for PS2. First of all...the game was a waste of 70 bucks because it took me 10 minutes to beat the game and 1 hour to beat with all the guys. the endings have nothing to do with the characters...

What i mean is that i was Disappointed with the ending of Tales of Symphonia, you go through a number of bosses, then you come to the last bost which is
the boy Mithos and then you to defeat him twice
. You would expect the most eye pleasing Graphic that you have seen though out the whole game and then>~<,
you get some 10 minute anime scene and they don't even tell you what the dam name of the tree was is meaning less all that trouble and for What!!.
I will admit that it was geting kinda obvious towards the end that
the tree was actually called 'Symphonia'
but i am only guessing that it was. And to anyone that haven't played and completed the game, you will not have a clue of what i am talking about.

Yes. Those who have not played the game will be confused at what you said. Why? Because they shouldn't know it unless they have already played the game. What a concept. Please use spoiler tags next time you give away parts of a game. - Shinmaru

Wait... you not only paid 70 bucks for Fight Club, but you actually spent time beating the game with every single character? Man, stop torturing yourself. Whatever you've done wrong in your life isn't worth the punishment.

My least favorite ending would have to be from Super Double Dragon for the SNES. You fight through several levels and some nearly tough bosses, and the end is nothing more than scrolling white text in a black background. Not even a lousy little image to make it more interesting.

The game "XIII" by far! I spent so much time on this game, the storyline constantly building up suspense and intense action, and then at the end of it all,
it gives me a gotdamned CLIFFHANGER!!! Ubisoft better be planning to release a freaking sequel, or I'm flying to France and burning the building down... Or I could just find the graphic novel...
Anyways, it was a good game, cuz the ending made me so mad... This is mainly because I didn't want to stop playing. So that proves the point.

I would have to say the most disappointing ending for a game I've played would be taken by two games.

The first is Haven: Call of the king. This ending was depressing. I mean you play through the game only to have
the main character tyed to a rock and left to die.
The second is Drakengard. This game has multiple endings but every time the makers seem
to want to kill off the protagonist or his dragon. Always ends with the worlds destruction.
Actually,
the world only faces destruction in two of the endings. In ending B, there's all the demon things coming out of the Seeds, and ending C has the dragons coming to destroy mankind. In the others, the world is saved.
The only ending that dissapointed me in that game was ending E. You do all the work to get it, only to see
Caim and Angelus get shot down after saving the world.
It just wasn't worth it.

the game ending that pissed me off was the ending to GTA: San Andreas. the whole game officer Tenpenny gave you ****, and in the end
he drives off a bridge and dies. I WANTED 2 KILL HIM!!! and every1 just walks away sayin "our hands are clean".
thats grade A b.s. right there my friends...

When I first saw the title for this thread I thought the first post would be about Halo 2's ending. I don't think I need to tell anyone what it is, but as you've probably already witnessed, it is terrible. They better not wait another 3 years to make a third one. A bad cliffhanger like that needs a conclusion and soon.

Soul Reaver: Legacy of Kain had a very disappointing ending. It's was one of those cliff hanger endings, but that's not what necessarily was bad about it. The cliff hanger I could have dealt with, but the ending itself is like only ten seconds long.
Raziel find Kain, Kain says something and then escapes through a portal, Raziel follows, the end.
LAME!!!

ur suppose to use spoiler tags for stuff like that ...

anywho, the worst ending would have to be Halo 2.
there is absolutly nothing in the end. All Master Chief does is say a couple lines, then its over...at least it hints that there will obviously be a Halo 3...very disappointing considering everyone thought that its ending would be amazing. Hey buddy it's a topic about endings. Anyone who reads this topic should expect some spoilers and I shouldn't have to use spoiler tags for it because of that fact. Not only that but this game is like five years old now, so it's not like I'd be spoiling something new for anyone. I don't need no stinking spoiler tags.

Another thing, are you expecting to get in good with the mods, James, or something with this? The moderators know what they're doing and if they want spoiler tags in my post they'd either do it or tell me to do it. You don't need to be trying to do their job and attempting to correct me. Bow down and kiss it.

Anyway, another game with a disappointing ending would definitely have to be in Manhunt. The game was pretty good for what it was, but the ending was just so bad.
After playing through the entire game it ends with Cash killing the director and simply disappearing. On top of that it's a relativity short ending, and makes you feel somewhat like you've wasted your time.
So, yeah, it's a bad ending.

Happy, w00t, I used spoiler tags!

yay, u used spoiler tags...

well anyways, you need to take a chill pill or somethin man, its not that serious, i was just playin around and pointed that out. The person that made this thread said that for any game you should use the spoiler blackout. I dont care I seriously dont. What i said was all in good fun, but you thought it was more than that. Also, many ppl have not played older games and years later go try it out for the first time. For instance i just picked up Duke Nukem N64 about 3 weeks ago to try it out.

::wipes sweat from forehead:: okay, im done. No hard feelings...?

I really don?t think that we would want to turn this into endings we hate but here it goes.

In the ending of Halo 2
when the ending wraps up with a confusing state. While the master chief is on that covenant ship he leaves us open. I really wanted to have another level on Earth explaining that a little more.
I also wondered
what questions does that master flood want to ask cortana. As she says to it ?shoot.?
Another disappointment from an ending was in Final Fantasy X
I hated it when We didn?t know what happened to what. Tidus vanished and I want to know what happened to him. I erased my data on FF-X2 accidentally and I still can?t find out what has happened to him.
That is it for my let out anger.

One of the most disappointing endings was Mega Man VII for the SNES.
You have to beat Wily which is one of the hardest boss battles ever on a MM game. After that, Wily just gets away and that's it.
One of the most disappointing endings for one of the hardest games in the MM series.

As for the situation involving Cortana,
She will most likely side with the Flood as she is just a computer. Her involment with the Humans has ended, and since she is just a computer, she is just finding a way to "feel needed". It is her duty as she was programmed to help. This also suggests that in Halo 3, the flood will be much smarter because of Cortana.
Well that could be a possibility.
If Cortana does side with the flood I think that the flood will be better equiped and head toward earth. They have already taken the covenent city. They could use jumping to go to earth to activate all of the rings. This will also cause a problem for earth with their planet being invaded and destroyed by flood and all. If that is the case then the third halo will be the longest and the hardest of them all. If they do it right.
That is what I kind of hope for
Halo 3
Actually Drizzt. . I kind of liked the ending of Tales of Symphonia. As for the spoiler tags, it's better to put them up for a 'just-in-case' scenario, then have someone read it because they are curious of what different people are saying, and accidentely read an ending on a game they haven't beaten/played yet.

I have read a few endings for games that I haven't played yet, but I was ready for that. And, because I really don't mind having endings spoiled to me. . others may not feel the same way, so you take the precaution.

As for Halo 2
I really disagree with the Cortana twist that you guys are making it seem like she is going to take. I don't know if you read the books, but while she is a little rebellious, I don't think she is going to abandon the human race quite so easily. I think she is just going to help the Flood as much as it's going to take to get her back to Earth perhaps. I don't know that you can make a mindless creature intelligent. . I say most of the Flood are mindless because Bungie really doesn't do a good job, if they ARE intelligent, on showing them do anything smart!

Perhaps Bungie doesn't really do a good job on showing that ANYONE has intelligent in the Universe that Halo takes place. . Oh well. I have hopes for Halo 3 (not high hopes, mind you. . but hopes none-the-less)
