hello all,

I watch the fullmetal alchemist cartoon and i when I was checking out games on www.square-enix.com/games/FMA and saw a preview of the new game. I was curious to see if any of you, know more about it or played it? I think it came out today. I read some reviews but you know? What you all think is more important. The preview on the website looks pretty cool, so I'm getting excited.

Thanks

It's horrible T_T I was really excited about it... I pre-ordered it and everything (I work at EB Games, btw) However, I played a demo last Friday... Five minutes into the demo, I stop and remove the money I put down on it and put it on Digital Devil Saga instead ~_~

The gameplay is pretty blah... Edward moves rather sluggish... commanding Al isn't that great... the voice over is redone in English (omigawd, that alone makes it so not worth buying) The 2nd game might get a release here, and it's supposed to be better... so I'd wait for that, or import it. The anime sequences are kinda nice, but not really worth paying for the game...
If you -really- want to play it, I'd suggest hunting down the demo (which I think was in PSM?) or renting it.

I'm a sad FMA fangirl T_T

I, too, was really excited at the prospect of playing this game, but was pretty disappointed by the text scenes and the gameplay.

It strikes me as reminiscent of Paper Mario-- which I thoroughly detested..

The most frustrating thing about it is that FMA has such great potential to be a kick-*** game, but it just isn't.

The idea of transmuting random objects that are lying about and having a choice in the object that you end up creating is simply brilliant, in my opinion, but the sluggish story-telling, the still-screen character dialogues, and the awkward/crappy gameplay just keeps me from liking this game as I had anticipated I would.

I hope that they try again with an FMA game, and actually succeed in making it enjoyable to play.

O' course, I'm just geeky enough that I continue to play it, even though it frustrates me so terribly-- just because I have to finish out the story and because I like FMA so much...:animeshy:

I thought that the FMA game was the best. The ending is sad though, and fighting Roy was hard... or maybe it was just my love for Roy that was making it hard *shrugs*

FMA for the PS2 wasn't that bad. I liked it. I hear that another one is coming out soon, called "Fullmetal Alchemist And the Curse Of the Crimson Elixer." It's also going to be cel-shaded for a more animated look.

"KAMEHAMEHA!"
