HISTORY OF VAMPIRES

Blood. Blood is life. Blood is a necessity that all are granted upon birth. Blood is a given, blood is a constant. Until you fall into Death's sweet embrace. Then, Blood is never taken for granted. We call those that have died and returned many names; Ghouls, Revenants, Zombies, the Undead. But when they seek blood, that purest source of life, we call them Vampires.

Though they have permeated our culture, we see them as little more than fairy tales. The stuff of gothic romance novels, cheesy horror movies, and occasionally nightmares. But they exist, they walk, and they hunt.

For eons they have walked among us, slowly stealing away our essence in the form of that rich, dark liquid. As they grew in number and power, evolved beyond the simple blood-suckers, they split apart. They formed the Clans. The Clans lived together in peace for centuries, millennia. Save the occasional squabble, things were calm among the Vampires.

But when the one known as Kuroichi, the Dark Blood, rose to the world of the Vampire, he decided that things should not be this way. He started his own Clan, the first to start in a thousand years, and slowly he swept across the globe, calling to his brethren. They called him mad when he went the way of peace, so he decided to go the way of war.

Thousands fell to Kuroichi's Clan. His bloodthirsty nature, demonic power, and trademark silver hair earned him his nickname...Demon of the Silver Hair. The Clans fought back, and he was pushed back to his homeland of Japan. His Clan dominated the island country, and he was pleased for a time.

Unfortunately, the Japanese government finally decided to lash out against the Vampires. They started a secret project, seeking out a few hundred children born with a strange power. These children were trained in the martial arts of the world, becoming expert warriors. They were the Hunters, deigned to slay the Vampires once and for all. Kuroichi was intrigued by these warriors, and decided to test them. There was a great massacre, and many of the Hunters died at the hands of Kuroichi. However, still many lived on, to fight against the Vampires with greater fervor.

Suddenly, the now-seasoned Hunters began to disappear. And at the same time, Kuroichi's Clan began to rise in power. The Hunters were becoming his Clansmen, and something had to be done before he became to great a threat. This began what would be known in the future as the War of the Blood.

Soon, Kuroichi's campaign swept across Europe as he stole the mighty Gems of the Ijuuj. With the Gyshram as his allies, he struck against the great clan, quickly taking the Emerald and Ruby. Along the way, he joined and fell out with Abaddon, Angel of the Abyss, and fought a former pupil...Goryuu Zokusai.

With Three Gems in his possession, Kuroichi was viewed as a horrific threat by the Gwyar. Some of the Elders, Dracula, LeStat, decided to overthrow the Great Elder himself, Cain. They would strike against the Krilat Zmaj and all who joined them. Thanks to Zoku's hatred of Kuroichi, they gained two of the gems, Zoku keeping one himself. The last gem is lost, along with Night Rider of the Ijuuj.

Zoku is missing, the Gwyar are plotting, and a beautiful Vampiress is slipping into Kuroichi's good graces. Now, he heads towards Australia to find the Zugai, and form a union with them. Their hatred of the Ijuuj makes them prime allies, seeing as Kuroichi has all but destroyed the religious "Crosses." The Zugai, the "Skulls," will soon join him...unless he can be stopped by the Gwyar.

The salty wind cut through the air, an acrid sting like the crack of a whip on bare skin. It forced the eyes to narrow, nerves to scream in protest. Kuroichi, Lord of the Krilat Zmaj, the Silver Haired Demon, payed no heed to the stinging wind and bone-chilling water. He had greater troubles weighing on his mind.

The small boat was a private vessel, owned by the Krilat Zmaj (or, to the public, a mister Kurogata Ichiro). Normally, Kuroichi wouldn't mind staying deep withing the warm, dry confines of the cabin. But today...there was more on his mind. He had to commune with the elements.

His crimson eyes flicked to the horizon. Ugly purple clouds hovered, light streaking through them in fierce jolts. A rumble, almost innaudible to mortal men, rang clear and crisp to the Vampire Lord. A storm was brewing, not far from the small vessel. Kuroichi grinned. All the better to feel the power of life.

The water pooled at his feet. He called out to it, reaching for its power. The faintest whispers caressed his ears, just loud enough to be sensed, but not enough to rise above the lashing waves. He called louder, stronger. He shouted in his mind. Demanded the waters listen to his plea. The roar of the tide answered, angry, indignant.

How dare you demand of us? Try to order the sea and rain? Who are you to rule us?

I, Kuroichi of the Krilat Zmaj, ask of you, great Water, to tell me what I must do.

The sea grew louder as the storm drew closer. Wind, lighting, water, all their voices clammored around him, demanding his attention.

Seak peace...do not fight.

Crush them all!

Listen to the Gwyar...they could wish to aid you...

Talk...fight if they ignore you.

Smite them down!

Do not fight without cause.

Do not fight!

Fight!

No!

Kill!

No death!

Destroy those too weak to join you!

Kill no one!

Kill only those you have to!

Kill them all!

The voices swelled and roared around him, with the storm. Winds whipped about, asking for reason. Waters rained down their pleases for peace, pacifism rising from the depths to splash at his ankles. The cries of war crackled through the air, rumbling and shrieking. It was all too much...

Silence all of you!

But the storm raged on. The harsh lightning, clamoring for death, struck down into the waters. Steam hissed around his face, whispering the voice of reason. Wind whipped it aside, the balanced thoughts swirling around his head. Lightning struck again, thunder rumbled around him. They bellowed and shrieked and cried and lashed out against those that disagreed. Water flew into his face, pelting down from the heavens, weeping its plea. And always there was wind, the voice of logic, voice of wisdom, voice of choice.

Kuroichi staggered away from the bow. The winds whipped around him, catching his clothes and hair.

Think! Think!

Water still swirled at his feet, struck him in the face, roared around him. Weeping, crying, pleading, roaring.

Please, do not fight! Please seek peace!

Thunder rumbled over head, chuckling at water's please, roaring over wind. Lightning crackled in the air, passing through Kuroichi's skin. He felt it roaring overhead, clawing at his very skin.

Blood...make the fools bleed and die!

"Enough!" he roared.

But the storm pressed against him, drowning his screams. For every cry for silence, he recieved the winds whispering roar. For every demand to stop, water's tears splashed against his face. For every plea for rest, the lightning struck out with war. The rage built up in him. His advisors lashed against eachother, mingling and fighting like wild dogs around him.

"Silence, all of you! Begone!"

Lightning shrieked, wind howled, water roared, thunder bellowed, rain wept. And in the middle, Kuroichi raged against them. The elements couldn't help him, they refused to listen to him. They fought against eachother, and ignored him. They ignored him.

Kuroichi felt something snap inside him. Power crackled around him, but it was not lightning, it was not wind. It was the Ruby, the Emerald, and the Amethyst. The gems flashed and shone and pulsed with his fury. Vibrant blood red, crackling neon green, and deep velvet purple slashed out in waves. They mingled and mixed with the power of the storm. But the waves grew, and quickened. And in a great flash, the storm was gone. The energy pulsed through the sky, all around Kuroichi, flashing in a pillar so great and bright it quaked the earth to its very core.

He fell to his knees, the water evaporating from the power. He fell not from weakness, but from shock. The elements were silent. They had been cast out. By his power. The Emerald, the Ruby, the Amethyst, and him. They destroyed the storm.

With a smile, he stood back up. The sky was calm and clear, dark and shining with a thousand flashing stars. Not a cloud to be seen, or a wind to be felt. Just a fading, crackling warmth and the harsh smell of ozone.

The power was growing.

********

As you can see, Kuroichi is still getting stronger. He has found a new strength to the gems...the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. And while Kuroichi holds three, there are two with the Gwyar...including the strongest, the Death Diamond. Zoku has apparently fused with the Moonstone, and Night Rider has the Pearl. Who knows WHAT power can be drawn from these forces.

Kuroichi is heading for Australia, as you all should be. Since that is where most of the story will take place. Have fun, hold tight, and drink deep.

And I have no gems, that's what I get for not posting enough -.- *predicts a thrashing*

Sumiyaka closed her eyes and leant her head back against the soft goose down pillow. She sighed as she felt the winds whip around the ship, smiling at the raw power they held but did not unleash upon those with a pure enough soul. The vampiress silently wished that Kuroichi's ship were being battered by the storm; maybe he had even been thrown over board. She shook her head, knowing that he was far to powerful to be beaten down by the elements, she laughed at how pathetic that sounded, a mere monster was more powerful than the earth and sky itself. Pathetic.

Of course, it was that thought that brought Sumiyaka crashing back down to harsh reality. She was travelling from Britain to Australia in the hopes of finding Kuroichi and at least weakening him enough so that her old clan and its allies could finish him. She always regretting leaving without even saying goodbye to Kyu, he was a wonderful friend, someone she missed everyday.

But that was not the thing to dwell on, no, there was training to be done and Sumiyaka knew well that Kuroichi would kill her easily if she didn't keep up her regimental hours training in the harsh sea weather. She stepped outside and smiled as the wind seemed to slow and caress her skin, the rain battering everywhere around her, never once hitting her with it's almighty force.

Sumiyaka.....Breeze of the Vampires...

The voice was like a sigh, a happy albeit lazy voice that called out to the woman on deck, calling her to the front of the ship. Her smiled broadened as she extended her arms, feeling the wind encircle them and her body in turn, her power growing with it. Her training had been successful, she may not have power over all of the elements like Kuroichi had, but the wind was her ally and it would grant her power when the time came.

A small blue orb appeared in her slender hands, absorbing the air and rain around. The woman smiled softly and released it, watching as it spiralled into the air only to explode in a flash of light. Her symbol, a simple 'S' and a crucifix, anyone who saw it would know she was there.

"Let that be a sign of your fate, Kuroichi..."

'Australia?' the priest looked a bit confused.

The bishop looking down from the pulpit, smiled at him.

'We go where God needs us,' he declared, 'And we have received word that you are needed there.'

The priest was stunned, a proclaimation from the Vatican reaching such a small church was quite rare, and to concern him specifically?

'You are to leave tomorrow, arrangements have already been made.' the bishop continued, 'Until then, enjoy your last night in Boston.'

Rain lashed against Zuriel's face, water dripped off onto the ground, and small splashes erupted in the puddles around his feet. He felt the rain coursing over his body, and felt refreshed by it. He knew that there would be little rain in Australia, so he was making the most of it while he was at home. He stood on his balcony, lettign rain wash over him. His robe was soaked, and his face was getting cold in the wet. He didn't care, though. All he cared about was getting the gems back from Kuroichi, and stopping him once and for all. A war was coming, and Zuriel would ensure that Kuroichi would not win it.

"Master Zuriel?" a small voice from behind him enquired. He swirled around, water flying off his cloak as it flapped out around him. A small, hunched, elderly vampire stood behind him, holding a bundle, with his swords wrapped up in rags.

"What is it, Jaques?" Zuriel asked in his well-spoken English accent.

"We are making preparations to depart, my lord," he said.

"Excellent. How long will the journey take, Jaques?" he replied, taking his bundle from the manservant.

"We will be there by tomorrow, sir. We are taking a special jet, coated with a new substance which blocks out sunlight completely, and can move far faster than any human jet. The humans do not know about it yet, of course, so we are the only ones with this equipment. Even the other vampire clans do not know yet."

"Excellent. Show me the way."

They left the room.

18 hours later

They arrived in Australia. It was dark, just the way Zuriel liked it. He and the rest of the clan got off the plane, which had landed on the private runway of James Arnold Catherton, the alias of the leader of the Myrkur Aniol. The clan moved into the building at the other end of the runway. It looked, to the untrained eye, like a mansion of somebody rich and famous, with lots of pillars and balconies, but this was a complex illusion. This building was in fact a secret Myrkur Aniol temple, where they could live and train in safety. This would be the base camp of the Myrkur Aniol clan.

*thinking to himself*War isn't conflict between good and evil anymore...hell, there's no such thing as good and evil anymore. All that matters are the men and women who serve for their cause. One's purpose is no greater than any others.

In an open plain somewhere in the middle of Australia...Zoku was just simply walking; where too he didn't know nor care. He was starting to be....hungry....again. Carrying only himself, his sword Oblivion, and a duffle bag over his shoulder.

Oh Kuroichi...I hope you finally see the power of Gaia. I would know...I only served her as a human for hundreds of years.

''I'm waiting for you my old friend. There is much to discuss; with Caine's blood rushing through my veins...I'm sure there is much you want to know brother. To tell you of my new found discovery...a shame you had mistaken the history of the gems; however now I feel your starting to sense their true power.''

''The Opal of Thirst...the first gem ever created by Caine himself...the power to bring forth the true potential of any vampire who weilds it. Barried right underneath your nose in Japan. The resting place of our fallin commarades in days past now rests upon my chest.'' *he grasps the stone hanging around his neck on a long silver chain.&

Zoku was just talking to himself...thinking back to his days alongside Kuroichi.

Stopping in his tracks...with the wind blowing through his hair Zoku placed it into a long ponytail stopping the flow of hair coming into his face.

''Oh Kuroichi...come out come out where ever you are.'' saying with a nice gentle voice.

I wonder if he'll ever trust me again...I mean...I almost killed him only a few months ago...not to mention I've already betrayed him in another life. *in a sadistic tone he began to laugh at himself and his marvels*

But...that was in another life. Would be a shame for him to lose such a killer; such a weapon as I. Oh how I've changed...besides...I'm sure he'd love to have Caine...the first ones' head as a trophy.

You were right Keitha...the clans should be unified. It sickens me to see such conflict amongst our own people. *another laugh*...my people...would have been foolish for me to say such things back in the day. Oh how I envied you vampires...set apart from the rest of the decaying society of man...and yet you yourselves show the same hypocracy. You all should be damned...Kuroichi's new order will certainly acknowledge this.

....He should have killed me when he had the chance...I wonder if Keitha has found her precious Grysham Masters' head on a pike yet in his home alongside his murdered wife. I should be greatful...he helped push me into what I have become. But...he deserved nothing more.

The old shall wither away and die...and the new will rise.

(I'm glad to see this up and going again...I missed HTDD)

The sun washed over the manor, causing Sole to awake from another night of nightmares and uncomfort. He stood up and looked out of the window of his room and embraced the sunlight, divulging energy from it. He turned as there was a knock on his door.

"Give me a sec!" He dressed quickly and took a strong hold on his blade. However, he threw his blade on top of his bed when he sensed who it was. He opened the door, smiling.

"Hello, Jinsei. Sleep well?" Jinsei looked uneasy. He kept averting his gaze and shifting his weight between his legs. Finally he looked up at Sole and replied in concern.

"I heard you tossing and turning last night. When I came in to see if you were okay dark flames were emanating from your body and you were...were crying."

Sole sighed and turned, walking towards his bed. He sat down and gestured for Jinsei to come and sit as well. Jinsei sat down and Sole went back to staring out of his window. He finally resumed conversation after a ling silence.

"I dreamt of Beth...how I know she's doing what she has to, but...I'm afraid she might forget me, or not recognize me next time we meet. I have changed alot." Jinsei raised and eye in confusion. He sat in thought for a second, then spoke up.

"That explains why you were crying. But the dark flames?" Sole laughed.

"My hatred towards Kuroichi...for what he's done...hmm...." He hesitated and shook his head, then turned to Jinsei again smiling.

"Lets drop this conversation and go see Dracula. He already has accomodations for us to head to Australia, supposedly where Kuroichi's going. And hopefully Beth....Besides, they no longer need us around here. With Caine gone our clan members have rallied to Dracula and LeStat." Sole got up and walked out of his room, heading to Dracula's room, Jinsei at his heels. He knocke on Darcula's door and waited patiently. Dracula opened the door warmly.

"I've been waiting...."

Later that day...

Sole looked out of the window of the airplane wearily. Thinking of the long trip ahead of him he closed his eyes to drown out the other sounds. Jinsei looked at Sole and questioned him.

"After we land at India we'll take a boat to Australia, right?"

Sole grunted and drifted of into unconciousness. Jinsei laughed and fell asleep to.

Kietha brought her gaze up at the last remaining bits of the Gyshram Lord and Lady's head. Blood had stained the spears they rested on, dust littered the marble floor of the throne room. Keitha's eyes were filled with unshed tears and her body supported by her knees.

The Shadow Assassin slumped forward hidding her face in her lap.

"Who found them?" Kietha cursed from her position.

"Black Widow." A servent replied.

"Where is she?" Kietha stood briskly, turning sharply to face the man.

"I do not know, my Lady." The man replied gently.

Without a second thought, Kietha pulled her sword from its shealth and sliced his head from his body.

"Any one else want to give me lame answers?" Kietha growled at the crowded throne room.

Everyone held their tongue and kept their eyes from the Shadow Assassin.

"Where is the Prince?"

"I am here, Shadow Assassin." A large hand rose above the crowd and began to make its way towards her. The pleasant combination of both David and Liltha's face finally came into view. The boy had been crying and he wasn't ashamed to show his tears as he approached his idiol.

"Nye," Kietha forced herself to smile as she embraced the vampire Lord. "I am greatly thankful that I still have you."

"As I am of you." He gently pulled himself away from the assassin to gaze into her green-amber eyes.

Kietha gently placed her hand on his soft cheek for a moment before turning him around to face the crowd that stood at the door. "Your new Lord and Leader of the Gyshram Clan is Nye! Allow him to rule and make us strong!" Kietha shouted above the noise.

At first the room stayed akwardly silent and without warning it burst into chaos as they rushed forward to take in their new Lord. Nye held firmly to Kietha's hand as they began to sweep him away. But eventually he lost his hold and slipped into the depths of the city. Kietha watched in a small measure of joy. Nye was going to be an amazing leader.

"Will you not join them, Shadow Assassin?" Jacob suddenly appeared before her.

Kietha brought her head around to look at him.

"No, not this time old friend. I have some strings to cut." Kietha gave him a smile that he knew meant trouble.

"You be careful, Lady Kietha. David had created a great many enemies because of his jealousy over you." Jacob gave a slight cock to his head and mergerly smile.

"Have faith in my skills, Jacob. I am no mere vampire." Kietha said with a hint of bitterness.

"I do not wish to offend you, only worried. I do not wish to lose you as we have the Lord and Lady. You are far too important to the Gyshram."

"I am sorry to make you worry." Kietha smiled gentlier as she embraced the servent for a brief moment. "I shall return to you and Nye. I vow to."

Kietha turned back to look at the blood stained walls and the two spears. It was time to put on her masks and create the world she had long so much for.

Kietha left Nye to wallow in his grief and new joy as she headed towards Australia to greet Kuroichi at the docks. The vampiress wasn't dressed in her traditional assassin garb. Her clothing was flattering to her figure, her sword hidden somewhere underneath the free flowing fabrics of her pants and shirt. Her hair lay undone and straight around her shoulders and back, she wore no make-up, but something was different about her.

OOC: sorry crappy post!! Great to have this rpg back!!

The Lord and Lady of Lana's clan were dead. She, Lana, was the one that had found her beloved Lord and Lady's mutilated remains. Summoning a servant to inform Kietha, Lana disappeared with her shadow-melding technique and vanished from the manor.

Soon after...

Lana whirled around the club ?Dark Nights?, searching for her next victim. The Black Widow was on the prowl ? men beware. She had put on smoky make-up and dark red lipstick to make her look irresistible to any man that dared talk to her or even take a glance. Her dark eyes scanned the packed club, selecting her next victim from the table in the far right corner.

Lana licked her licks ? the desire of blood rushing through her mind. She was going to feast on him very very soon. Swaying her hips seductively passed her victim?s table, she could sense him stand and follow after her. She turned to him, chuckling to herself. He was quite a catch ? short, messy blonde hair, brown eyes and fairly muscular ? young and full of life.

? Where have you been all my life?? the man asked, his eyes scanning her curvy body.
? Around,? she purred. He stepped closer to Lana but she took a step back playfully. A devilish glint gleamed in her dark eyes. The man smiled.
? How about we hot this place up a bit??
? How about I hot you up?? Lana purred and pressed her body against his. She could feel something stiffen below. ? Well well well, aren?t we a bit frisky!? She could feel his warm blood pump through his body. Lana?s breathing quickened. She leant towards him, pressing her body close to him, and whispered into his ear.

? Why don?t we take this outside??
The man nodded. Lana almost ran outside ? the desire for blood was becoming unbearable.

Once outside, Lana pushed him into a dark alley beside the club. She had made sure no one had seen them and planned what she was going to do with him. The man was eager to get some pleasure when he started to touch Lana. She slapped away his hand and ripped off his shirt. She heard his heartbeat quicken and his breathing fasten. Lana unbuckled his pants and took off his boxers to reveal his naked body. Steam hissed from the sewers and the murmurs of people passing by heightened the experience. The man grabbed Lana and kissed her forcefully. A strange taste came from her mouth as he pulled back. Lana quickly bit his lip and licked the blood that dribbled from it. A slight taste of what was to come.

Lana ran her hands over his chest as he ran his hands down her sides. She whispered again into his ear.
? You have been taken by the Black Widow.?

Fear and pain spread across the man?s face as Lana mauled his neck. He had no time to scream as Lana whipped out her Sais from under her coat and pinned him against the wall, blood smeared against it. She was merciless, her vampire instincts took over and she became a monster of fictional proportions.

Half an hour later?

Flashing blue and red lights wheeled around the street near an alley beside the club ?Dark Nights?. A bouncer had found a mutilated body of a young male in the alleyway. The police were called and they identified the latest victim of the serial murderer the Black Widow. It was bad enough that she murdered her males victims anywhere, but she also drained them of their blood, causing them to become mummified.

Lana looked over the top of the building at the commotion below. She licked the remaining drops of blood from her lips, not wanting to waste any of the precious resource.

BEEP BEEP! Lana?s cell phone went off as she twirled one of her Sais in her left hand. She flipped it open.
? Yes??
? Kuroichi wants us to go to Australia?? a female voice said on the other end.
? Right. I?ll be there soon. Meet me on the top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, where they fly the Australian flag.?
? Good.? The other woman on the end hung up.

20 hours later?

Lana sat at the base of the flagpole on the top of the ?Coat Hanger? as the locals call it. A strong cold breeze whipped Lana?s cloak about her. She waited for her only friend, another vampiress of her species. While she waited, Lana created one of her orbs and threw it up and down in one hand impatiently.

Zuriel stood in the main hall of the temple, next to the throne of Axosiel, the leader of the Myrkur Aniol clan. He was standing still as a rock as the scout in front of him explained the situation.

"There are many clans converging towards Australia, my lord. So far we know of three. The Krilat Zmaj, of course, the Gwyar, and ourselves. The Gwyar are most likely to be swayed towards fighting Kuroichi, as they have a deep-seated hatred of him. We can possibly join forces with them against the Krilat Zmaj. They would be powerful allies."

"Excellent," replied the Myrkur Aniol's aging leader, "How long until Kuroichi himself arrives?"

"We do not know, sire. It is entirely possible that he is here now."

With this comment, the vampire at the other side of Axosiel's throne strode forward and lopped the scout's head clean off with his sword.

"We do not know whether the Silver-Haired Demon is here or not? This is unacceptable! We must find out his whereabouts!"

"Belligeron!" boomed Axosiel, standing up suddenly, "I will not allow this insolence in my clan! Return to my left side!"

Beliigeron returned humbly. Axosiel sat down, and started coughing violently. Zuriel ran to his right hand side, and helped the leader ease himself back into his throne.

"Leave this chamber now!" Zuriel cried, "The leader needs his rest!" The assorted vampires in the chamber fled, scurrying out of the many doors in the walls of the chamber.

"Zuriel, my child," said Axosiel weakly, "I am not long for this Afterlife, I feel. I will die within the week. I can no longer lead this clan to my full potential. I need you to take my place."

"Me? But Belligeron is a much higher rank than me! Surely he would be your first option!"

"Ah, yes, but Belligeron is headstrong. He suits the position of Clan War Chief much better. You, however, are my successor. you must take the throne. I will announce this to the rest of the clan in the morning. For now I must rest. Take me to my chamber, Zuriel."

Zuriel carried the elderly vampire to his chamber, hardly believing that he, who was once a street urchin in China, was to become the leader of a vampire Clan! He was truly blessed by the Blood Gods.

-------------------

Belligeron sat in his chamber, fuming. He would not be downsized by their leader! Axosiel had no right to do that to him. It is every vampire's right to claim a kill.

He picked up a particularly sharp, curved knife, and ran it against his thumb. It drew blood with the first press into his flesh. He hid the knife in the folds of his cloak. He needed to find any vampires in the clan unloyal to Axosiel. There would be an uprising. He would kill Axosiel and take the throne himself.

And it would happen before the week was out.

'Welcome to Sydney, Please enjoy your stay.'

The priest smiled at the stewardess, 'I'll certainly try, and God bless ye, my child.' he said, as he exited the plane. There was another priest waiting for him at the gate.

'Father Colville, I trust your trip went well?' he said.

'Aye, it did.' he answered, 'But I can't help but wonder why I've been sent here.'

'Well, we were happy to hear of your coming. God's Will'll be made clear in his own time.'

'I suppose yer right.'

'Anyway, until it is, let's get you settled in.'

The boat slowly docked in the private harbor of Kurogata Ichiro. Kuroichi stepped off the small ship, the creaking wood and slowly sloshing water the only sounds in the lonely place. It was quite possible that the only people who even knew it existed were the Krilat Zmaj.

As Kuroichi stepped off the wooden planks, he felt the earth groan beneath his feet. It's voice was loud and clear, drowning out the voice of water, which receded behind him. It hummed and groaned and rumbled, deep and sturdy.

Kuroichi, do you really think you can beat everyone who opposes you?

Of course I can. I am quickly ammassing power and loyalties. How could anyone stop me?

But...He is here. The one who is consumed by darkness.

Who? Who is the one consumed?

I know not his name, and his intentions are muddled. He speaks to me, seeking you. Seeking the Krilat Zmaj. He could seek your death, or to join your side. But he prays to Gaia that you will realize the truth.

And in a flash, Kuroichi realized who it was that the earth spoke of. It was Zoku. Zoku was here in Australia. Zoku was consumed by the darkness of the Moonstone. Zoku was seeking Kuroichi. But was it to return to his fold, or vengeance that guided the new Vampire. Kuroichi could not be sure until he met Zoku. His intentions would stay hidden until he wanted them known. Until he spoke with the Demon. Or...

Track him, Earth. I want to know what he seeks. I want to know whether to meet him, or kill him.

It death the only answer if he seeks you? Can this only be solved by killing?

Perhaps...but I need time to think. If you learn anything, call to me. Please.

Anything to help save peace, and life.

Life can only be preserved when I rule unlife.

Are you sure the clans are against man, and life?

I am certain.

Then I aid you. But beware...the Winds speak of one who wishes for your death. She will not rest until you lay cold.

I fear no one.

Perhaps you should.

The earth's voice faded before Kuroichi could respond. He felt anger begin to swell inside. He did not fear anyone. No one could best him. He was the strongest in existence. And if he wasn't...then he would get stronger. Any way he could. And he would start with the Zugai.

*****

The room was quiet, a hushed feeling of anxiety hanging in the air. Light poured down through a special filtered glass onto the ring of chairs. The men and women that sat in the ring were clad in rich robes, of pure white or pure black. They sat on opposite ends, the white staring outward serenly, the black glaring in the shadows of the room.

"So, business in Australia is going well," asked one of the Blacks.

"Fairly well," said a white. He radiated importance, even though he looked no different than the rest. His hair was cropped short, a rich shining chestnut brown. His calm eyes shone in the light, a sparkling blue. A single scar traced across his cheek. "Axosiel has handed over the crown."

"To Belligeron?" asked the first. He was slim and gaunt, pale with long black hair cascading down his back in ebony strands. Though he was wrapped in darkness, his eyes shone red in the gloom. His long fingers drummed on the table, a skull shimmering on one digit.

"Oddly, no," began a third. He was slender, but not gaunt like the man in black. His hair was also long, down to his waist, but was a shimmering gold. Like the second man, his eyes shone blue, streaked with a gold-brown. He smiled warmly, but there was a darkness behind his eyes. "He gave the 'leadership' to Zuriel."

"Zuriel?" chorused around the table. Few could believe that Axosiel wouldn't pass on the helm to his trusted advisor, Belligeron.

"However, beyond that, things are going as planned. Kuroichi has reached Australia, and the Gwyar are headed there. There should be little trouble, as long as we reach the Zugai first. Zuriel may not be as popular as Belligeron, but from what I understand he is a good man and will easily draw the Zugai's support."

"But what of Belligeron? What if he should take offense at Zuriel's win?" asked the dark man.

"My dear friend Lucifer," chuckled the important man. "Even if Belligeron were to hold a grudge against Zuriel, what would he do? Zuriel has taken the place as puppet leader of the Myrkur Aniol, so Belligeron wouldn't dare make a strike against him. As long as everyone thinks that Zuriel is the true leader of Myrkur Aniol, no problems will arise."

"Clever as always, dear Michael," said the blonde man.

"Stow your false praise, Gabriel," Lucifer sneered. "You saw where lying got my side, eh?"

"The Fallen Angels got what they deserved," growled a large man in white. "Do not complain for your own failings, Morning Star."

"I'll keep that in mind, Abdiel," Lucifer growled, with a sour look. "Are we done here?"

"Aye, I'd say that we are," Michael said, nodding. "Let us adjourn for today. But remember, not a word of the plan to anyone but us."

"Of course," murmured the crowd.

And so, the leaders of the Myrkur Aniol left the large meeting room.

*****

OOC: I apologize to Blayze for stealing his moment in the sun, but I had to do it. If anyone is going to lead the Myrkur Aniol, they are at least going to be named after a real angel. And neither Zuriel, nor Axosiel, nor Belligeron are near angels. Sorry. But, you are still leader in name, if not in reality.

''mmmmmm...this is what I seek.'''

Zoku had found himself stalking a local family in Sydney. Oh how he loved the thrill of the hunt. He decided to feed when they had all gone back home for the night; a mother, a father, and two young girls.

He ravaged the parents easily...slipping through the window amongst the shadows. The female was quite attractive...even as she slept he endulged her; making her become aroused in her dreams to his gentle touch across her skin. He could feel the warmth of her blood coarsing through her veins.

Swiftly his teeth were latched onto her neck...she immidiately had awoken to the pain...but it was too great for her to even scream.

''Now die in peace...'' and she drifted peacefully into and endless sleep.

The husband however woke up soon after to the shifting of the bed. He saw the beast hovering over his dead wife...instinctivly he got up and ran. But Zoku was far to quick for him...blocking him at the exit to the house.

''There's no escape for you...death has found you this night.''

In the darkness the man could only see clearly Zoku's burning red eyes shining brightly. In a panic he ran to his daughters room grabbing his shotgun.

Oh how he loved to toy with them. It made the game far more enjoyable.

As Zoku moved into the room...the man shot at him...blowing a hole into Zoku's chest...

''HAHAHAHA...you'll pay for that one.''

The man stood in shock as the wound healed itself.

''What...are you...?''

''You do not need to be concerned about who I am.''

And like the wind the shotgun was knocked out of his hand and was slashed at the gut and knees by Zoku's claws. The girls were screaming in the corner as they saw their father fall to the ground.

''Now...old man...you'll see your two daughters perish before you meet your end.''

And thats what he did...one by one...he fed upon their corpses...ripping their young, tender skin with his fangs as he satisfied himself. The father was in tears...blood gushing out through his exposed stomach...not being able to walk nor move.

When he had finished...Zoku squated right in front of the mans face...looking directly into his eyes.

''I will now leave you here...alone...without anything in the world. You will not have the same fate as your precious daughters and wife. You will die alone...''

Zoku left him there as he slowly died...crying himself to death over the loss of his famliy.

In his past life...he would have found this kind of act to be sickening. Everything that he had come to hate...but now...fate it seems, is not without a sense of irony. He now lived for it.

***

Moments later...outside the ''Dark Nights'' club

***
Time to spice up the menu a bit. Zoku thought to himself as he approached the building. It was rumored around the streets that this club was a big hunting ground for vampires...his meal.

As he approached the building while turning the corner...he saw maybe a dozen cop cars parked outside the club. Looking at the body in the ambulance...Zoke could see that it was the work of a vampire.

''There was a Grysham Assassin here...'' as he breathed in the air...smelling the remaining auromas of the place.

''It's not her...but another powerful vampire neither the less. This is turning out to be more enjoyable by the moment.''

''Hey you...big guy!'' yelled a cop in the distance.

''Yea you...you with that sword, stay right where you are?''

>Come in station this is Captain Sanchez...I have a possible suspect for custody in the murder of John Rivers at the local club of ''Dark Nights'' he's is...<

But before he could finish Zoku had already drawn his sword and easily decapitated the Captain. The other deputies saw their Captain fall and began to fire upon the shadowy figure. Of course Zoku was far too quick and escaped onto the nearby rooftops.

***
A few minutes later
***

Zoku finally stopped and decided to find a place to relax at the town cemetary. His thrist was satisfied for the moment...the Opal keeping his hunger in check...glowing brighting from underneath his shirt.

Finally...you've stopped.

Ah...its you. I was wondering when Kuroichi would send someone...or something to seek me out.

Kuroichi is concerned about you Zoku...he wants to know what you are doing here.

Oh...I'm just passing through. Feeding, Killing, Training...the usual.

Zoku plopped himself on the ground taking in a deep breath.

You speak lies...why here...why here in Austrailia?

He should know that answer himself...I've come searching for him. But it seems to me like it isn't just Kuroichi who comes to this continent.

Lord Kuroichi doesn't trust you Master Zoku...as a worshiper of Gaia...you are one who had honor. And now you have none...my Lord fears you come for his life.

*laugh* Believe me...he has enough people out there wanting to kill him. If he's fearful because of our battle together...he should remember that it was he who attacked me first in that temple. If he has no problem with me...he has nothing to fear from me in return.

So if he meets with you...

Yes yes...I bring him no harm...only aid. I think he can need a friend like me right now...someone to fight with him.

We shall see then.

Then begone...I wish to close my eyes for a few hours and not hear another live or undead or spiritual voice.

As you wish...I will send word to Kuroichi.

The spirit of the earth left Zoku alone in the cemetary as he stared up into the shiny skyline that was hanging up above.

''Oh Kuroichi...you don't have to fear from me. It is only you I truly trust anymore...despite our differences; we've always been able to respect and honor one another. Hopefully your new powers haven't gone to your head.''

''I sense two of the other gems coming with the new tides. Dear Kyu...I hope I wasn't mistaken in giving you those gems. Don't dissapoint me.''

Jinsei was abruptly awakened around seven in the morning by a pain in his stomach that could only be from a lack of nourishment. He glanced over at Sole, dazily. Dead asleep. He strode over to the refrigerator to make a sandwich. Upon feeling a faint release of energy. He quickly looked over at Sole who was gripping the armreasts of his chair as tears rolled down his face. Instantly he knew what was happening and rushed over to wake him before he "ignighted",and took the whole plane down with him, and shook him violently awake. Sole looked at him dazed, "Wha-?"

"Lets just say, I should have brought some marshmellows."

"If I woke up and you were cooking a marshmellow on me I'd snap your neck in two." Jinsei semi-smiled.

"How 'bout a coke?" Sole chuckled drearily and grabbed himself one.

Two hours later...

Sole and Jinsei disembarked the plane. As they grabbed their luggage, left Dracula's private airport, and called the taxi service, Sole turned to Jinsei to ask him a question.

"You wanna' head straight to Dracula's private dock...Damn, did you notice he's got a lot of private locations?...Anyway, yah, wanna grab a bite to eat or something?" Jinsei shrugged.

"Yah sure. Lets go get some food. If the ovens shut down or something we can have them cook the food on you." The taxi arrived shortly afterwards, finding Sole and Jinsei in fits of laughter. Sole told the dirver to take them to the best spot to eat in town.

A couple hours later...

"That was great! I didn't know I could put that much away!" Sole grinned.

"Yah, I know! I passed right out after that. Good thing I didn't light the place ablaze." Sole and Jinsei snickered when a strong breeze whipped the city street. The ocean nearby churned forcefully and lightning crackled far-off. They suddenly grew serious, knowing that the elements had fled because of something. Sole had a good idea of how it had been, but Jinsei could only sense a great energy. Jinsei turned to Sole, "Didja feel that?"

Sole nodded grimly. "We should hurry."

Sole and Jinsei rushed to the docks, and quickly loaded their luggage and set sail. The boat was of decent size and comfortly accomodated the passengers and the captain. Under the grey sky the boat began to rock violently, but left Sole and Jinsei unaffected. Sole gazed out to the endless sea and tossed Jinsei a cloak.

"Put this on. We don't want to be identified while we're there." Jinsei headed to his quarters to listen to his CD player and change into his cloak.

OOC: Sole-Energia wanted me to say for him that the gems are allowing him to pick up others "scents" if they're familiar, and he wanted me to link some stuff also. The first is what Sole looks like (he didn't paticularly like the other picture. He'll change it on his sign-up soon). The second is the outfit he wears, and the third is the cloak we wear.

Zuriel sat in the throne room, in his throne on Axosiel's right side. He didn't feel right taking the true throne yet. He sat, thinking hard about Axosiel's choice. Why did he choose him over Belligeron? Belligeron would have made a far better leader. He had been a vampire and a member of the Myrkur Aniol far longer than Zuriel. He was the obvious choice to lead the clan. So why had he been chosen? Zuriel found something strange about it.

Belligeron entered the throne room from his chamber. He and Zuriel acknowledged each other's presence.

"Where is the Father? Where is Lord Axosiel?" asked Belligeron, "I wish to apologise for my actions earlier."

"He is in his chamber. He is resting. You may want to come back later."

"No. I must do it now." He walked slowly into Axosiel's chamber, his hands behind his back. Zuriel resumed his pondering.

-------------------------

Belligeron moved towards Axosiel's bed, drawing the knife from behind his back. It glinted in the soft candlelight of Axosiel's chamber. He held the knife high above his head, and brought it down, straight into Axosiel's chest. Blood spilled out onto the sheets, and Belligeron struck again and again, mutilating his leader viciously.

----------------------------

Zuriel was pacing up and down the throne room, when he smelt blood. It was coming from Axosiel's chamber. The scent of it was strong, almost overpowering, and Zuriel ran into the room. He saw Belligeron standing over Axosiel, holding a curved knife dripping with blood. Axosiel lay dead on his bed. Belligeron lifted the knife to his lips, and licked every drop of blood off the blade.

"Belligeron!" shouted Zuriel, drawing his swords. He ran towards Belligeron, delivered a slice to the kneecaps, dropping the senior vampire to the floor. Zuriel placed his swords on the traitor's neck, and drew them across, slicing his head clean off. He picked up Axosiel's body, and carried it into the throne room.

"Axosiel is dead!" he cried, "Belligeron killed him!"

"And where is Belligeron now?" asked a vampire standing in the middle of the floor.

"He is also dead. I executed the traitor on the spot. He has killed Axosiel!"

"Who will be our leader now?"

"Axosiel appointed me leader of this clan before he was killed. He knew he was dying anyway, so he appointed me as his successor. We need a strong leader in this time of war, and I will be that leader!"

A cheer rang out among the vampires. Zuriel was a popular member of the clan. And now he was leader. And he would be a great leader. He would lead the Myrkur Aniol to victory.

The small ship docked in Sydney harbour and a tall woman stepped off, the wind whipped around her as her cape billowed out behind. She sighed deeply and closed her eyes, saying a short prayer before stepping off the pier and into the port town in search of a place to stay.

She imagined that the other would have arrived or were at least on their way, Zoku would be looking for Kuroichi, no doubt. Keitha would be here, too...Kyu...maybe. Sumiyaka shook her head and continued walking, finding the nearest Inn.

You should watch yourself, my Lady...for I fear that he will find you....

I know, he has grown to be more powerful...

Sumiyaka regretted talking about Kuroichi with some restrained respect, but even Dracula himself knew that he deserved it. The woman cursed again, damn that Kuroichi! Why couldn't she get his image form her mind, it was like a curse.

Are the Gods trying to torture me?

She sighed as the wind caressed her face gently, trying to cheer her up and bring her from her darkened musings.

I will do my best to help you...

Thank you.

The young woman reached her destination and shook out her wet hair, draping her cloak over one arm before walking to the front desk, smiling at the man standing to greet her.

"Room for one?" His voice was warm and Sumiyaka welcomed it, nodding her head politely as he drew some keys from the back wall. She took them and paid him for a three-night stay before taking leave in her room.

This place would certainly be a lot more comfortable than any of the other grotty, back street Inns that the vampiress had been forced to stay in over the last few weeks. She sighed again and undressed, getting into her nightdress and flopping onto bed.

Rolling over onto her back, Sumiyaka completed her usual night-time ritual of cursing Kuroichi to his grave and satisfied, fell asleep.

Kuroichi calmly walked the streets of Sydney, content that even if an attack was made, he would be able to easily dispatch any offender. If the Gyshram and Krilat Zmaj agents guarding him didn't get them first.

Sydney was bright and warm, different than London had been. He was glad to return to a nice, warm climate. He was able to walk the sunlight due to the three Ijuuj gems he possesed. If one could guard an entire country against holy artifacts...well, imagine what three could do. Any Vampire he wanted was given instant protection by the artifacts. No cross would burn them, no priest could slay them, and no sun could harm Kuroichi himself.

He was out to find a hotel, somewhere to stay while meeting with the Zugai leader. It had recently rained, and he did not want to spend another night out in the elements. He had found a small hotel, with a few open rooms. It wasn't the busy season, which helped.

His eyes flickered around. Everywhere he looked, cloaked figures moved just beyond the sight of humans. The nearest was a hulking man, swathed in black. Doppo, Kuroichi's personal bodyguard. He didn't really need one, but Doppo was a proficient fighter and one of the Four Generals, so Kuroichi humored him with the title.

The man standing to greet him had a warm aura, but Kuroichi could tell he was a bit peturbed by the Vampire's strange appearance. Silver-haired asian men dressed in black where probably a rarity in down-town Sydney.

"Room for one, sir?" the man asked warmly.

"Yes, that should do," Kuroichi said, smiling placidly. He pressed back the hunger that was slowly growing stronger. The Blood Ruby demanded blood...the Corpse Emerald demanded death...by Kuroichi was stronger than their whispering words.

The clerk retrieved a key from behind the counter, but continued to stare at Kuroichi all the while. Eventually, Kuroichi spoke up on the matter.

"Is there something wrong?" he asked, not a hint of malice in the question.

"Ah...I am sorry to stare, sir, but you are a bit...different than our usual clientele. Though I must admit, a rather strange woman came in last night. I don't mean to be rude."

"Yes, I am a bit odd, aren't I," Kuroichi said with a light chuckle. "But...this strange woman...what made her strange?"

"Well," the man said, looking thoughtful. "Her hair was what got me first. Very pale, almost white but...a little green almost. I've seen bleached hair before but...never like that. Must've been dye, I guess," the clerk said chuckling. "Also, she seemed...anxious. Frightened even. I've seen many a person in my days, and I know trouble when I see it. She was looking for something, or hiding from something. Either way, there was something she needed to get, away from or otherwise, and it was wearing on her. Plus, she was dressed oddly. Real beauty, though. I'd love to talk to her sometime..."

"Well, maybe I'll put in a good word for you if I see her," Kuroichi chuckled.

Sumiyaka.

Kuroichi took the key and walked to his room. He sensed his guards just beyond the realm of sight and hearing. The Gems had spawned this six sense. It was something Kuroichi could get used to, along with sun and having the elements as his servants.

Kuroichi...

Speak of the devil.

Zoku has spoken to me. He does not wish you harm. He wishes to join you again.

Perhaps I should meet with him before meeting with the Zugai...Yes, tell him to meet me tomorrow, in Sydney. Tell him to be in Sydney tomorrow night. We must talk.

As you wish.

Surprised I can hear it through the foundation...

Kuroichi stepped into the hotel room. Waiting for him was Doppo, and a few others, all wreathed in cloaks and shadow.

"My lord," Doppo began. His voice was low and strong. "We bring bad news. It is...the Lord of the Gyshram. He is dead, as is his wife."

"What!?" Kuroichi snapped, shutting the door swiftly behind him. "What do you mean dead?"

"Murdered, my lord." One of the figures in black chimed in. "Decapitated. No one knows how, or who did it. The Prince has taken the helm."

"There is more," said a third. "It is...Keitha, the Shadow Assassin. She is here."

"Her?" Kuroichi hissed through clenched teeth. "What does she want?"

"I am not sure," said the third speaker. "But it seems of grave importance."

"Fine, I will meet with her tonight. Now go, lest I lose my temper."

"Aye, my lord," they chorused.

*****

Kuroichi has learned of three people's involvement in the war once again, and now has three meetings to make. And, to add insult to injury, he and Sumiyaka are sharing the same hotel. demonchild781, feel free to start up their meeting.

''I'm already in Sydney Kuroichi...''

Zoku was already standing outside of Kuroichi's hotel; looking up to the floor he presumed Kuroichi was on. He could sense the Gems power dwelling within the building. He had followed Sumiyaka's scent from the club the other night...but he never expected to have been led to Kuroichi himself.

''Quite a coincidence...two vampires such as them taking room at the same hotel... More the marrier.''

Lord Kuroichi will meet with you Zoku...be patient...

Spirit of the earth...what does he possibly need to do before he speaks with me...he dares to make me wait.

My Lord means no disrespect...he honors your presence as well as your powers. But now is not the opportune moment.

What is it that is so important?

He is quite destraught at the death of David...the Lord of the Grysham Clan. He also plans to meet with Keitha...the shadow assassin.

So she is here as well...

I'm sure the two of them will discuss David's death...no one quite knows who the killer is.

Alright then...so be it. I will be in Sydney for him to come meet with me...but with no bodyguards. I sense there are many of them surrounding him in every direction, I don't like being watched...I would hate to kill his most trusted generals.

As you wish...

We have much to discuss...Kuroichi and I...I hope he is as excited to speak with me...as I am as well; I promise I won't dissapoint him.

Very well...I honor your request...please have faith in Lord Kuroichi Master Zoku...he is more founder of you than you realize.

And as quickly as the voice arose...it died.

Things would be so much easier if he met with me now...but I guess he'll just have to wait. I pray he doesn't betray me...as I'm sure he feels the same way. I'll be ready...for anything Kuroichi.

So Zoku walk away from the hotel...looking back for one more glance...

I'll be waiting...

***

Come now Kyu...reviel yourself...these petty politics are starting to bore me...make some noise! The Gwyar, the Grysham, the Krilat Zmaj, the Zugai and yes...even the Myrkur Aniol are here.

Come one....come all...tonight we feast, tonight we plan; the blood of our kind will spill onto the streets of man. And they will truly come to know the names of this game.

>>>This is Maria Archer from ANN; Australian National News....here at the local club called ''Dark Nights'' in the city of Sydney. We have confermation of two murders last night. One man decapitated...and another...bitten. They're rumors spreading around that this was the work of vampires. Yes you've heard it folks...vampires. The autopsy of one of the bodies has shown that almost every ounce of the victims blood was drained out of him through an origin...a vicious bite mark on his neck.

>>>Can we be certain about these theories...we do not know. But for this reporter...I have seen it all. And tonight...I have seen nothing like this before. Beware..they may live among us.

Zuriel sat on the throne, listening to what his advisor had to say.

"Well," said Zophiel, "You will need to pick a left and right hand. I suggest you pick a warrior as your left, and an advisor as your right, as your predecessor did."

"Well, you will be my right hand, Zophiel. You are my most trusted advisor, and I hoped you always would be. As for my left, I believe I will choose Xaphan. He is a powerful warrior, and as loyal to Axosiel as was possible."

"Excellent choices, sire. I will inform Xaphan right away," said the new right hand.

Zuriel stood up, and walked to the door. He flung it open, and saw the darkness outside. Good, he thought, Now I can hunt.

He exited the temple and moved onto the streets of Sydney. He wandered the darkness, looking for a victim. He saw an elderly man hobbling along. Too old. The blood would be weak, and it would not give him enough strength. He saw a young child walking with his mother. Not enough blood in there. He saw a group of young women walking down the street, dressed as if they were going to a party. Perfect. He took to the rooftops, stalking them as they moved through the streets. He got so close he could smell their blood, and hear it pumping around their bodies. It was intoxicating. He was drunk on the smell.

Eventually, after the scent was too much to handle, he leapt down in front of them. They screamed, and he blocked their way. He opened his mouth, baring his fangs. They started to run. Perfect. He loved it when they ran.

He chased them down the street, running along the walls of the buildings on either side. He leapt from one side of the street to the other, constantly changing to confuse them. He caught up with them, and jumped on one. She fell, and he clamped his jaw onto her neck, and drained her of her blood. Her body slumped lifelessly. The others ran faster, and he walked quickly, catching up with them easily. He sliced one across the throat with a fingernail, and then sucked the blood hungrily. The final one was running, and Zuriel didn't wish to run any more. He reached out with his telekinesis, and burst open her neck, the artery popping. Blood gushed from the wound, and Zuriel used his telekinesis to make the blood shoot from her neck into his mouth, even though they were at opposite ends of the street.

He felt nourished as he dropped her corpse. He wiped the blood from his lips, and began the walk back to the temple.

Something was following him.

As he was moving closer to the temple, whatever it was leapt on him. He spun round and grabbed the culprit by the throat.

"Who are you?" he asked.

"None of your business," the girl replied.

"I think you made it my business when you started stalking me, girl. Now tell me your name or I will rip you limb from limb. Don't think I'm joking."

"I'm a vampire. That's all you need to know."

He tightened his grip on her throat.

"I need more. Do you forget my previous threat, girl?"

"My name is..."

Sumiyaka woke suddenly, her heart pounding heavily in her chest. She wiped some sweat from her brow and shook her head, reaching out for her glasses. She blinked and stared into her bedside lamp, the lights brining her back to her senses slowly.

"That's absurd..."

She refused to believe what she saw in her dream. Not in a million years would she...ever want that to become some sort of twisted reality. She shook her head again and sat up. The wind knocked at the catches of her window and it came open, a light, warm summer breeze drifted through the caress Sumiyaka's clammy skin. She smiled and let out a sigh.

What is it?

He is hear, my Lady.... the one who you seek to kill...

Sumiyaka froze before she began to laugh. It was a sinister laugh, like she knew it was all too true but didn't want it to happen. The wind blew harder against her face and she stopped, drawing in a sharp breath.

Tell him I want his blood.

But...

Go now!

Just as the wind receded around the room Sumiyaka came to her senses and beckoned for her friend and ally to halt.

I need to ask you one favour before you carry my message.

My Lady.

Sumiyaka stood and straightened her nightgown before opening her bedroom door, crossing the corridor to the stairs leading up to the next floor. She knew where his room was; she could taste his scent in the air. But he wasn't in this building, no....the stench would be far worse if that was the case.

I assume he had a meeting with someone?

The wind sighed in response and Sumiyaka nodded, brushing a few stray strands of hair from her face. She began to climb the stairs to Kuroichi's room and once she got there she beckoned for the wind. Almost reluctantly, it rattled in the empty keyhole and in a matter of seconds, the door swung open, granting Sumiyaka passage.

She smirked somewhat smugly and crosses the threshold into his room, looking around for any sings of the gems. Of course, there was none, Kuroichi was arrogant but he wasn't stupid and she suspected that he knew she was here.

Go, now. Give Kuroichi my message, tell him that I'm waiting...

Yes, Lady Sumiyaka...

The wind left with its message and the woman sat on Kuroichi?s bed. She would wait for him tonight, not to fight with him but to talk...discuss things. Yes, discussion was all that would be needed...for now.

Jinsei woke up late that night and entered Sole's quarters to see him sweating in his sleep. Sole also had a look of confusion on his face.

"What coud he have be dreaming about?" Jinsei wondered. Sole's body suddenly became tense, then relaxed.Jinsei shrugged and walked away.

Inside of Sole's mind....

Sole was confronted by a figure engulfed in flames and shrouded in darkness, but he emitted such a light as that Sole could not stare at him. Sole tried to summon his blade but to no avail. He soon grew angry.

"Who the hell are you?And where the hell are we!?" The figure laughed and Sole froze. That laugh seemed so familiar, but so new as well.

"We are in the confines of your mind, where we can freely talk. I am here to guide you." The figure seemed friendly enough, but Sole wasn't satisfied. Sole sneered.

"Yah, sure. Whatever. Just tell me what you need to and scram. I got more important manners on my hands right now." The figure bowed.

"As you wish." The figure turned and continued speaking. "You travel to make Kuroichi suffer what he's done, and to bring Sumiyaka back with you." Sole raised an eyebrow. Sumiyaka? An image of Beth flashed through his mind. Oh...She's changed also.. The figure gave him a moment to contemplate that, then continued speaking.

"You travel there as a member of the Gwyar clan in an attempt to make her come back to your clan. But do you really want her to return? Or do you want to persue that same choice she has, to join her?" Sole was taken back. That thought had lingered in the back of his mind for days, and he could feel it in Jinsei's also.

"The choice will become clear after you meet Kuroichi. Oh, and give your accomplice the Skull Sapphire. It's done all it can for you. It now wants to empower him. But you'll want to keep the Death Diamond in your possesion. It seemes to have deemed you worthy of it and now resonates with your heart." Sole growled and lashed out against the entity.

"Who are you!! How do you know all of this!?!" Sole yelled in fury. The figure smiled.

"I am someone you've known for many years, but have never met. Someone you know everthing about, but know little of. I am---" Time stood still and a scream ripped throught the void.

"Sole! Wake up. We're there!" Suddenly time resumed once more and the figure spoke again.

"Obviously it is not time for you to know yet. But do not fret. We will see each other again. And before you go...." He walked over to Sole and touched his head. Images flowed into Sole's mind. One of Zoku. One of Sumiyaka. One of Kuroichi. Then, a single sentence. ...Yes, tell him to meet me tomorrow, in Sydney. Tell him to be in Sydney tomorrow night. Then Sole awoke. Jinsei was standing over him. Sole jumped out of bed, dressed and threw his cloak on, turning to Jinsei.

"Let's make haste. By nightfall we must be in Sydney..." He hesitated, reached into his pocket and produced the Skull Sapphire. He tossed it to Jinsei sternly. It glowed fiercley when he caught it.

"Take that. I've derived all I can from it, and look what it's done for me. Hopefully it will do the same for you. But the Death Diamond...when it finsihes empowering me, I will be overcome with another transformation..."

Hi, guys. I didn?t post in the new sign-up, but if you want info on Abaddon, just read through the first chapter or HTDD, or read the original sign-up.

--------------------------------------

Abaddon strode down the deserted streets of nighttime Chicago, his black trenchcoat sweeping the ground. Thoughts raced through his head as they had ever since he left Kuroichi?s side. Since his return to America, Abaddon had taken weeks to review the events that preceded the War of the Blood, and still he had yet to reach a conclusion. Walking into a dark alleyway, his entire body locked up, involuntarily reacting to the presence of a great power. Narrowing his eyes, Abaddon turned his head, surveying his surroundings. The hair raised on the back of his neck, and a reflex brought on by countess years of battle moved his right hand to his longsword.

?Where are you? If you?re looking for prey, you?ll find I am no old man , ripe for a beating. Show yourself if you beg for death. Otherwise, scurry away with your life, and leave me be.?

?Large words. They carry not only authority, but power. Such is expected from Abaddon, fourth-lieutenant of the Myrkur Aniol.?

Abaddon drew a sudden breath as a blinding light appeared before him. The faint figure of a man could be seen in the light. Abbadon instantly dropped to his knees, prostrating himself before the figure.

?Gabriel. For what reason am I honored with your esteemed presence??

The figure stepped forward, and as it did, the light subsided, revealing the man behind it. Abaddon raised his face to look upon him. The man wore a lightly colored tunic, a scarlet cross emblazoned on it. A golden horn hung from his belt. His golden hair swayed as he let out a joyous laugh.

?Oh, can the formalities, Abaddon. The other member of the council aren?t here to witness you actually preforming ancient rites, rare as the occasion may be.? The man?s fair face spread into a warm smile. ?I?m glad to see you again."

Abaddon smirked. ?And I you, old friend. But we have time for idle chat later. What really brought you here??

?Always straight to business, eh? You haven?t changed a bit." Gabriel?s face faltered, then turned stone serious. ?Something?s happened. Come with me.?

Grasping Gabriel?s hand, Abaddon felt his body become weightless. Then, in a blinding flash, the alley was empty.

-------------
Rome
-------------

Abaddon walked slowly behind Gabriel through the hallowed halls of the Myrkur Aniol?s inner sanctum. Throwing a pair of large, steel doors open, Gabriel took a seat at a large marble table, shaped like a kite shield. The table itself was inlaid with a finely engraved golden cross, much like the one on Gabriel?s tunic. Seated opposite Gabriel was Uriel, second-lieutenant of the Myrkur Aniol. His shining, silver armor hid a strongly built body, covered in scars from countless wars. Placed before him on the table was his great, winged helm, and propped against his chair was his war-blade, Eden?s Bane, which was said to burst into flame in battle. Placed at the head of the table sat Michael, head of the order of Seraphim, and chief judicator of the Myrkur Aniol. Abaddon quickle seated himself in the farthest chair, in full view of the Council. Michael cleared his throat and placed his hands together in front of him.

?Greetings, Abaddon. It has been long since you have graced these halls.?

?It has been long since the Council contacted me, my lord.?

?Indeed it has. Folly on our part, for sure. But let us not speak of this small matter. Are you aware of what has happened in recent weeks??

?I am not. If you knew were to find me, you must also be aware that I have been abroad, and have been without contact with any Myrkur Aniol for some time. What has happened??

Michael cast a downward, almost sad glance. Standing up, he moved to a large window overlooking a great courtyard. He spoke with his back to the others, showing no other trace of emotion.

?Axosiel is dead, Abaddon.?

?What?!? When?how?? demanded Abaddon, rising to his feet.

?Murdered, by the hand of Belligeron.?

Abaddon clenched his fists, rage growing in his breast. ?That fiend?where is he? I will rend him with my own hands when I-?

?He is of no concern to us, Abaddon. Not anymore. He has met his end.?

?By who??

?Zuriel. The very reason this meeting has been called to order.?

?Zuriel?? Abaddon sat again, confused entirely.

?Yes. He has been named the new leader of the Myrkur Aniol.?

?What? But he is only a child-?

?A fact we well know, Abaddon. His youth brings vitality to the clan, but it will be his downfall. He is too inexperienced, and knows not the ways of war. He will ruin us all.?

?How? We are, after all, the Seraphic branch of the order! We need only-?

?Not anymore, Abaddon. Before his death, we were disbanded?by Axosiel. We know not why, but we suspect there was a plot even before this. The Myrkur ar turning, Abaddon. All but the Seraphic Legions are becoming corrupt and vile, consumed by their own power. We have only one option, and it is also the reason you have been summoned.

?Give me a command, Michael, and I will carry it out to the best of my will.? Abaddon?s eyes burned with anger, the thought of his proud clan falling infuriating him. He felt the spirit of his sword calling. Calling for battle. Calling for justice. Calling for vengeance.

?If Zuriel wishes for leadership of this new, dark Myrkur Aniol clan, than he shall earn it. Gather the old army, Abaddon. Gather our generals. The old shall clash with the new. We shall make war."

This should make things interesting, aye Blayze? ^ ^

OOC: Since demonchild is sick, and I'm her accomplise, I'll do the next post if you don't mind ULX. Demonchild and I were supposed to meet up anyhow.

IC:

Lana waited anxiously upon the top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, throughing her orb up and down in one hand. Keitha was late... Lana, being very impatient, stood up and stretched.
" Hurry up woman! I can only wait a small time..."

" I am here..." a female voice said from Lana's left side. Lana didn't even jump. She just smiled.
" Finally. Where the hell have you been?"
" Seeing to our Lord and Lady's death that's what. Where did you disappear to Lana?"
" I went out for some fast food."
" Don't get smart with me..." Keitha growled.
" Fine." Lana crushed her orb with her hand and it went out. " What are we going to do now Keitha?"
" Find Kuroichi, wherever he is, before dawn."
" Like to find him in a city of 5 million people."
" Lana....I am not in the mood for your games."

In down-town Sydney...

Lana followed Keitha into down-town Sydney. It was grubby in places, like it hadn't been cleaned for years. Keitha had obviously known where Zuroichi was going to be otherwise she would have killed Lana for asking her stupid questions like a kid. Lana just liked rubbing Keitha the wrong way.

Soon, they came to the hotel that Keitha's informant said Zuroichi was in. He wasn't pleased about their appearance in Sydney, or so the informant had told her. Up the stairs and to Kuroichi's room, Keitha knocked on the door, aware of the clerk that was staring at them from the base of the stairs. Lana just looked on, uninterested.

" Lana, I warn you...be on your best behaviour...otherwise I will kill you myself," Keita hissed angrily.
" Yes Keitha, I will."
The door opened, Keitha and Lana entered into the darkness.

" So, the Shadow Assassin and her companion has decided to join us..." a voice came from the darkness.

OCC: Sorry it's really bad but its all I could think of.

The vampire backed into the alleyway, still bleeding from the hole in it's arm that wouldn't close.

'That couldn't be a human.' he said as he reached the end of the alley. Suddenly, he heard a voice that seemed to comefrom everywhere, yet at the same time no where at all.

'Unclean thing, spawn of Satan. I assure you, I am not human, I am a monster the likes of which you've never contended.' the voice finished as the vampire felt the barrel of a gun against the back of his head. The vampire fell to his knees, begging mercy.

Paladin Eugene Colville merely laughed, a maniacal, frightening sound.

'Mercy for an unclean thing like you? No, ye will die, just like every other one of your kind. And any other that would choose evil over the true path. Such is God's will.' He cocked the gun.

'And shepards we shall be, for thee my Lord for thee. Power hath descended from thy hand, that our feet may swiftly carry out thy command. And we shall flow a river forth to thee, and teeming with souls shall it ever be. Et numini Patri, et Fili, Spiritus Sancte.' He finished the prayer as he pulled the trigger.

From behind him, he heard footsteps. He turned to see the priest that had picked up Father Colville earlier.

'Do ye wish to die here as well?' he asked.

'No, simply to make sure you don't go on a a killing spree that will hurt innocent people.'

''Innocent'?', the Paladin laughed,'Father, don't ye know? There are no innocents.'

The priest raised his hand, a solemn look on his face. 'Good night, Paladin Colville. You are no longer needed this night.'

Colville blinked, his eyes momentarily losing focus.

'What's goin' on?' he asked, obviously confused.

The other priest simply smiled, 'You were sleep walking, my friend. I followed you to make sure you were not harmed, but I must say, you have gone quite a ways. Perhaps it is best if we return to the church.'

Father Colville nodded, 'Aye, I think yer right. I can smell blood here. It makes me a bit uneasy.'

He can smell the blood? Is the control getting weaker? No, his broken psyche couldn't be that strong. No one has ever broken the Vatican's control before. the priest hurried Father Colville along. 'Let's hurry, we have a long day tomorrow, and I'd like some sleep.'

Sumiyaka was slightly displeased that the one who opened her door was a woman. Her first thought was that it was a local whore that Kuroichi had sent upstairs ahead of him. Then she saw her weapon and obviously vampiric eyes.

The fact that Keitha followed was also a dead give away.

"So, the Shadow Assassin and her companion has decided to join us..."

Keitha started when she heard the voice, remembering it form the few times that she had heard Sumiyaka. Although they had never met they knew each other instantly. While Sumiyaka could never forget Keitha's striking appearance, the Shadow Assassin would never be able to forget Sumiyaka's cool and smooth voice. They were not enemies, not rivals, merely contestants in a sick game for Kuroichi's head....or ulterior motives, as it seemed for Sumiyaka.

The latter stood and inclined her head, brushing away the stray bangs that drifted in front of her eyes. She smiled at Keitha and her currently unknown companion, holding out one hand, "Sumiyaka, ex Gwyar member. Kuroichi hunter, if you will..."

Keitha stifled a chuckled and the other woman laughed softly, taking Sumiyaka's hand and shaking it lightly, "Currently I have no major qualms with our dear Kuroichi, though he seems like a rather interesting character. Lana."

"Interesting would be a way to describe him. It's a pleasure, Lana. Keitha."

Sumiyaka returned to her place on the bed and gestured for the two women to join her. They nodded and sat, relaxing on Kuroichi's rather spacious Queen size mattress.

"Keitha."

The Shadow Assassin nodded to Sumiyaka, acknowledging her before motioning for her to continue.

"I fear that Kuroichi has left to meet with you, I was assured by my...friend...that you would be with him tonight. I was worried that he would came back with your head or too tired to entertain me..." she laughed at her own joke and Keitha chuckled once again, nodding to herself more than anything else.

"Well, I didn't expect him to show, hence the reason why Lana and I decided to come and pay him a visit."

Lana cut in, addressing Sumiyaka rather than her companion, "He'll get quite a shock when he finds three beautiful women on his bed."

"Yes," Sumiyaka replied, somewhat spitefully, "I'm sure he won't know what to do with himself..."
