Anime What's YOUR favorite anime and why?

i also notice some like....
Action, Adventure, Comedy, Sci-Fi, Drama, and Romance...
i have not really seen one perticullar anime with all of those subjects... :animesigh

My favorite anime of all time will always be Robotech...its a classic and one of the originals in the macross series. Even though the graphics are old...it still has a palce in my heart... :animesigh

[color=darkgreen]My favorite anime? That's a hard one to choose. Well, since I can't really decide, I'll just give you my "at the moment" favorite.

[b]Samurai Champloo[/b] would have to take the #1 spot of anime. I love the overall style of the animation. It's like Cowboy Bebop (which is another favorite); fantastic style, gorgeous animation, brilliant storyline, and [spoiler]orgasmic[/spoiler] characters. The soundtrack to Samurai Champloo is a sleek and upbeat hip-hop; very catchy, and something I wasn't expecting to like. The characters all blend/mix/mesh well together, and create a delightful atmosphere.

I suggest Samurai Champloo to everyone. It's worth it.[/color]

Alright, the anime that is my current favorite right now has to be Yû Yû Hakusho. I like the fact that it's not all about the fighting...you have very fully developed characters, moral dillemmas, et cetera. Togashi did a brilliant job making flawed characters you can sympatize with, and also reflecting on the "outsiders" in modern-day Japan (punks, drunks, queers, psychos, women, etc.) :animesmil

And this is why I've started to read/watch Hunter x Hunter. Because I love Togashi's mind and the way it works so much.

My favorite anime is Inuyasha becuase it's full of action with a lot of relationship problems with romance. I also like D-N angel because it's funny and full of love conflicts

Well I think that all the comics I've read are great!(wich probably a few dozens)
but right know I JUST LUV Fruits basket & Inu-y.cause i don't know i find there really good stories. And also there like my best friends(I never fight with them lol)Well i probably would like Saiyuki but i have no idea what it is!

My favorites are Sailor Moon,Tokyo Mew Mew,and Cardcaptors. They're all really cute shows,and they're kinda girly,so that's why I like them so much. Sailor Moon's really special to me cause it was my very first anime. And then I saw Cardcaptors,and heard of TMM,so I immediatley started liking them too. :catgirl:

Anyway, my favorite anime would have to be... well, [b][i]Tokyo Mew Mew[/i][/b], just like I said. It's my favorite because it's cute, but not [i]overly[/i] cute. (That, and it can scar 12 year-old girls for life. o_o Really.)

Another one of my favorites is [b][i]Dragon Half[/b][/i]. Yes, I know it's quite old in anime standards (Around 12 years-old, since it was made in 1993.), but it's still very good! It's gut-bustingly fuuny, entertaining, and has enough fanservice to kepp the fanboys happy without really being hentai.

Then there's good ol' [i][b]Shaman King[/i][/b] and [i][b]One Piece[/i][/b]. Their originals are so good, yet their dubs are so bad... >_> I like both for their enjoyable characters, catchy opening and ending themes (In the original versons, thank you very much.), and unique story lines.

Sometimes they make fun of other animes like: DBZ, Power Rangers, and other anime I can't think of at the moment. If you want an anime to laugh at this is the one.[/Font][/Color]

I like Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi. That is cool, I like the episode where Satoshi turns Arumi into Cinderella and there is the giant teddy bear, I thought it was cute. Another personal favorite is Fruits Basket.

Inuyahsa. You can relate to it in many ways. Also someone introduced me to it and i thank her everyday i can for it. Now i feel i cant live without it. Inuyahsa is a show that's funny,serous perverted really well done.... but mostly funny :P Wish it didint end the way it did. It feels so....unfinished to me. I hope im not the only one.

I wasn't going to bother posting to this thread but after reading it and not finding a single mention of my favs I now feel I have to.

First, my fav anime movie would be "Nausicaa, Of the Valley of the Wind". I did notice someone else had mentioned Hayao Miyazakis work here (I think it was referring to" Kikis Delivery Service") but not what I think is his best. Personally I think he has no equal and Nausicaa is easily his best written piece. He has managed to create a totally new world to transport us into and I have no problems with comparing this feat to what Tolkien did with Lord of the Rings. I consider what Miyazaki did every bit as good. But that?s not where it stops, not only was this new world created but so were characters so real and compelling that you grow to care about them as the story progresses ... actually it's not just the characters even the creatures manage to earn our respect and heartfelt concern.

Second, my fav anime series would be Serial Experiments Lain. I know most people find it to hard to follow and I have to admit that at times it did loose me but there?s just something about what its portraying that draws me in. It was done back when the internet was really in it's infancy and I find it eerie how it almost prophesized what?s happening today, how people are loosing themselves in the wired world and how for some the line between the "wired" and reality becomes so blurred that they loose which is which

So you mean like Princess Mononoke, My neighbor Totoro, Castle in the Sky and Spirited away. Not really sure if Grave of the fireflys is Miyasaki's work but you should have mentioned anime movies. When you mention just anime people think shows not movies. Miyasaki's work is my favorite in movies and it can relate to many problems in society. I'm getting Serial Experiments Lain from a friend for my b-day, she said it was a good anime and now that I see that other people mention it I will like to see for myself

i think my favorite anime would have to be(currently) DNAngel. i havent watched it in a couple months, but i still love it. second best would be Bleach, i think the visuals are great, expecially the spirit form, or whatever you want to call it, hazyness. step into the black and white, my favorite Manga(the korean kind, i forget what its called) is Kill Me, Kiss Me. its a great gender bender/street fighter/love quadrangle series. fav japanese manga is The Deomon Ororon. i just dont like the ending, thats my only gripe

This is almost the hardest thing i've ever had to answer in my life. I love so many anime its not even funny. Inu yasha is one of my top picks. But out of all of the anime ive ever seen my favorite has to be Rorouni Kenshin. That show is flippin sweet. I love all the cool sword things he does and then again there is a good deal of comedy in it too.

I think that RuroKen rocks too, and it is funny. There are others that have similar characteristics though, just slightly different, I think... Anyway, it is a very tuff question to answer.
