This is a pre-story for an old RPG I wrote up. I'm extreamly proud that it got up to a trilogy, but not so proud that it was taken over by a few of the mebers <_<.
any way, this is a no sign up RPG for just me and Kyuai. He had one of the most important charecters. This is for me and him only, to shed some light on the begining of it, so it would be useless to make a sign up section for just me and him. We're familiar with each others charecters as well.

Arunue yawned and opened her eyes. The alarm clock was ringing beside her bed. She stared at the ceiling for a minute and sighed, letting the alarm run. Hiroshi opened the door. "Wake up, kid, and shut that off, it's driving me nuts!" he said, smiling. He always smiled. Arunue grinned and shut it off. It was raining. "Um...hi....you look wet," Garren said as he covered Arunue with his umbrella. Arunue chereished the memory. She got up and walked to the bathroom then turned on the shower. "Oh. Yes. It's cold out this morning," Arunue replied, not looking at the boy. Arunue yawned and stepped int he shower. "Um. I'm Garren," he replied, coking his head so he could look her in the eye, considering he was slightly taller than her. "Arunue," she replied, stating her name. It was right infront of their school. Arunue was 10, Garren 12. Arunue sighed relaxingly and closed her eyes, leting the warm water silde across her body. Arunue was 14 now. Garren 16. Garren and Arunue spent much time togeather, her brother often picking them both up after school to go watch his fights. Hiroshi usually always won. He'd been teaching Arunue to fight, too, and to use swords. Arunue taught Garren a bit and they laughed and smiled with each other. hiroshi slammed ont he bathroom door. "Hurry up, Garren's here already!" Arunue smiled and finished washing her hair, wich at this age was still long.
Garren grinned as Arunue walked down the stairs in her school uniform, her blonde hair still wet. "I hate this stupid thing," she mumbed, fussing with her skirt. "I think it's cute," Garren said, giving her a hug and kissing her ont he cheek. Hiroshi lifted an eyebrow and yelled from the next room, "I can see you, ya know?" Arunue smiled and grabbed her bag. "let's go," She said, smiling. Garren smiled back and followed her. "Want me to drive you?" Hiroshi asked, too late, as Arunue shut the door.

OOC: "Um... hi... you look wet." XD
~~~
Garren glanced sideways at Arunue as they walked down the sidewalk. Had Garren had a car of his own, he would have driven them; alas, he did not. He blushed a little like he always did when she was in her uniform. Arunue pretended not to notice, but smiled a little anyway. The two had reached the street across from the schoolhouse when Arunue stopped and thought a moment.
" 'Runue?" Garren looked back at her curiously. She smiled slyly and took Garren's hand, "C'mon, let's go do something." She began pulling him along another direction. "Huh? What are-" "Oh hush. Let's go have some fun!"
Garren sighed, but smiled. 'I really should be used to this...' he thought. It was ten minutes later, sitting on a sidewalk bench, that Garren asked, "So why you decide to skip now?" Arunue leaned back, stretching her arms in the air. "Mmm... it's a bad day for school."
Garren grinned and sighed, sitting back. He glanced over at Arunue again, who now sat with her arms crosssed behind her head. The boy felt a little blush cross his cheeks, looking at the younger girl. "Come on," Arunue got up abruptly, "let's go find somethin' to do."
OOC - I couldn't think of a 12 year old's response, that was the best I could think of T_T
IC - Arunue grinned and grabbed his hand, pulling him off the bench. they walked down the street away from the school further and twords town. Garren looked at the ground, blushing emensly. Arunue was still holding on to his hand. Arunue granned and shook her head. "What's wrong with you?" she asked, laughing slightly. "Uh...um..." he managed to say, "Nothing...." Arunue smiled and continued to walk beside him.
"Let's go back to my house, I need to change out of this," Arunue said suddenly, fliping the end of her skirt gently, "Hiroshi-kun should be gone by now, he has students this morning." Garren nodded, still looking at the ground, glancing at her every once in a while.
Arunue smiled and streched out on the couch in a pair of jeans and one of her brother's T-shirts. Garren sat on the other side of the couch. "Want something to drink?" Arunue asked, sitting up. "Uh...no. I'm fine," he replied. Arunue smiled and sat directly next to him amd leaned on his shoulder. "Helloooooooooo," she said in a cute, high pitched voice. Garren smiled. Arunue shifted closer to him and wraped her arms around him, leaning her head on his shoulder. Garren tensed up. "You need to calm down..." she said quietly, "You're too skittish."
Garren averted his eyes, embaressed that she was right. He should stop acting so shy around her. "Besides," Arunue nearly whispered, her mouth right next to his ear, "what if I do something... naughty." Garren swallowed, his heart thumping hard in his chest, "Arunue..."
She grinned playfully, "You're so gullible!" She hugged his shoulders tightly as his bright blush settled back down, "And you're so mean." Arunue stopped giggling at him long enough to nudge him in the shoulder... hard.
Arunue smiled, and kisses him on the cheek. Garren was still rubbing his shoulder. "Damnitt, that hurt," he said, checking to see if there was a bruise. "Oh, shush," Arunue said as she got up and walked into the kitchen, coming back with a bowl of chips. She had a nack for snacking on everylittle thing constantly. "Hell, 'Runue, you're gunna gte fat if you keep eating junk food," Garren muttered. Arunue raised and eyebrow and punched him in the arm. This time, it did bruise. "Shit, 'Runue! You're gunna beat me up," garren mummbled, glaring at her. Arunue smiled and continued to nibble on her chips. "......Ooohh, gimmie one," Garren finally said, grabbing a handfull of chips.
The day was slipping by and it just started to get dark. Arunue poked Garren in the side. "Let's go for a walk, I'm tired of sitting here," she said. Garren nodded and got up.
They walked down the road, away from town. It was nice and quite at that time of the day and no one would bother them. Arunue walked off the road in into the grass, sitting down on a small hill. Garren walked over and sat beside her.
They sat there for a few minutes in silence, untill Arunue said, "Garren....I have a question." Garren looked at her. "Shoot," he said. Arunue paused for a moment then asked, "Where do you think we'll be in 5, maybe 10 years?" Garren paused. He didn't know how to answer. He had no clue. Neither of them had a clue about what was going to happen.
"Garren..." Arunue said quietly. Garren looked at her. "Yeah?" he asked. Arunue took a long pause. "I..um..." She paused again. "Arunue?" Arunue sighed. "Nothing, never mind." Garren stared at her for a minute, she was looking at the ground, tearing apart a peice of grass.
Garren stared at her quizically for a moment, the put a hand on her shoulder and smiled, "If you say so." Though he was being sarcastic, there was a comfort in his voice that made it warm, and maybe even a little affectionate. Arunue couldn't help smiling. Before he knew it, she had him in a tight hug. Smiling again, he stroked her hair, "Sometimes I don't know what you would do without me Runy."
She glared at the boy, but didn't release him to punch his arm again. "Watch it or I'll throw you down the hill," she threatened sarcastically. What followed was a long, long silence as they watched the sky fade into dark and the stars appear over the clouds. When the cold began to make his fingers feel numb, Garren looked down at Arunue. She was fast asleep, curled up with her head in his lap. He smiled.
IC- Garren wraped his arms around her and held her tight. He wasn't even going to attempt picking her up and trying to carry her back to her home. Arunue was thin and fairly light, but he was tired and didn't want to risk dropping her halfway there.
A car pulled up on the road nearby. "Hey!" Hiroshi yelled from the driver's seat. Garren smiled and picked Arunue up, carrying her to the car.
It was about 10 at night when Garren kissed Arunue good night -- though she was still asleep -- and got up from the couch to leave. "Garren," Hiroshi called from the other room, "Come here." Garren walked down the hall and peered into the study. Hiroshi was typing away on his laptop. Some of the community was really advanced and some had barely any technology. Hiroshi was lucky to have a computer. "Yes?" Garren asked. Hiroshi continued to type for a moment then looked at Garren. "Kid, be more carefull with her, I'm not gunna have her getting hurt while i'm teaching and can't be with her, expecially if you're the one looking after her." Garren didn't understand at first. then he took into fact that hiroshi was extreamly protective of his little sister. He had been spectical of Garren when they first met, not likeing Arunue hanging around a boy two years older than herself. He tried to seperate them, but it made her so upset and he couldn't stand to see her like so.
"I-I understand." he replied finnally. "Good." he replied, going back to his work.
Garren began to walk out when Hiroshi continued, "And one mroe thing," Garren turned back to face him, "Stop skipping so much. She needs her education." Garren didn't know quite how to take the statement, but Hiroshi was already back to his computer, typing away. He wanted to say it was her idea anyway, but didn't think that would go well.
As Garren walked back out towards the door, he paused and looked down the hall where Arunue was sleeping. He sighed silently and opened the door, wincing at the sudden cold. His own home was just three blocks away.
The lights were off when he entered his house, so he assumed his mother was already asleep, as she often was. It was pitch black, so he fumbled for the switch near the door. When at last he found it, the light flickered for a moments before fizzling to it's end. Great, now they would have to spend more on light bulbs. Fine, he reasoned, then dark it is. He fumbled his was onto a couch and got comfortable. Besides, I like the dark. Light's over-rated anyway. He yawned, laying back.
As he dozed off, he could almost feel Arunue's form, still snuggled in his lap.
IC - Arunue opened her eyes and stretched. "Mmmn, Hiiiiro-Sama?" she called. Hiroshi leaned throught he door way tot he living room. "Hey, honney, good morning," he said softly, smiling. Arunue smiled back and sat up. "What time is it?" Arunue asked, running her fingers through her hair. "Doesn't matter," Hiroshi replied, "It's Saturday." Arunue though for a minute. "Really?" she asked. Arunue had a knack for not remebering what day was which and she was bad at dates and time.
Hiroshi sat down on the couch beside her, handing her a bowl of ramen. Arunue smiled and began to eat it, stopped, then looked at him. "Hiro-kun...." she said after swallowing, "What are you thinking?" Hiroshi grinned.
Arunue walked out of the house with short, vibrant red hair. Garren was sitting on the porch. Arunue's eyes were wide and she sat beside him, not looking at him, obviously caught off gaurd by her brothers sudden likeness to change her hair. "heh...heh heh....how long have you been here?" Arunue asked Garren. Garren stared, dumbfoundedly at her. "Uhhhh. I like..your hair?" It was obviously a huge change.
OOC: Awww... kawaiiiii....
~~~

What proceeded was a very long, very awkward silence. Garren did his best to act normally, but kept sneaking glances at Arunue and her 'updated' hair style. Arunue looked straight ahead, doing her best not to notice. Despite all his efforts to resist, Garren grinned. Arunue glared at him as he tried desperately to keep from laughing. At last he couldn't hold it in any longer and burst into giggle fits.

Arunue turned bright red and punched him in the arm. Garren hardly had the breath to say "Ow" in between laughing. "Hiro is going to pay for this..." Arunue crossed her arms and waited for Garren to calm down.

When at last he regained his composure, Garren looked at her moer seriously. "Hey 'Runue?" he said a little hesitantly. "What?" she replied, still irritated. He blushed and smiled softly, "What were you going to say yesterday? After you asked about the future?"

Her formerly annoyed face flushed, "Oh... well... I..." Hiroshi poked his head out of the door, about to say something, "... I, uh, needed to go to the bathroom." She said quickly when she saw Hiroshi. He got a questioning look and raised an eyebrow at her. "..... What?" Arunue demanded.

Arunue rushed back in the house and shut the door, leaving Garren sitting ont he porch. Arunue looked at her brother. "What do you want?" she asked calmly. Hiroshi smiled and fingered her hair. He kissed her on the forehead. "You look sweet," he said, "Go fetch me some ice and wine, alright? And stay out tonight, I'm having my good buddy come over." Hiroshi winked at her. Arunue grinned and made a guesture to ask for money. She was broke. Hiroshi handed over a 50 dollar bill. "Kepp the change." he added, retreating to the other room.

Arunue walked back outside and pulled Garren off the porch. "Come on, I need to buy things for Hiro-kun," she said gently, pulling Garren down the street by his hand.

"Um, where are we going again?" Garren had taken up a pace beside Arunue, though she still held onto his hand. "To get some stuff Hiro, I told you." Arunue seemed to be getting faster, as if trying to avoid something. "Right..." Garren had no choice but to keep pace with his hand locked in hers.

With Arunue's pace, they reached the nearest grocery store within a few minutes. Arunue stopped as she nearly got stuck in the door, realizing she was still pulling Garren along. Blushing, she released him and proceeded inside. "You alright 'Runue? You seem... flustered."

Arunue kept walking, trying to avoid his eyes, "What? Of course I am. Why would I be-" she was cut off when she ran into an aisle. "You sure?" Garren asked as he directed her around it by the shoulders, "I'm kind a' worried..."

Arunue shook her head and grabbed the ice and wine. "don't worry about it." Arunue said as she payed for her things and stuffed the rest of the money in her back pocket. They walked back with Garren glancing at Arunue constantly. He knew she didn't want to talk. He wanted to ask her, but he decided he would after they dropped off Hiroshi's things.
Garren waited ont he porch as Arunue went inside and gave Hiroshi his things. when she came back outside, she seemed more calm. "Hey, 'Runue, you alright?" he asked as the sub-consiously started walking down the street. Arunue smiled at him. "I'm fine," she said. She was putting more effort into it than before. "You seemed a bit upset earlier." he added. It looked as though she had to think for a moment. "Public." she finnally said. "I don't like a lot of people." She stuck her toung out at him and he had to grin. "So.." he said. "Where we going?" Arunue lifted her shoulders. "I don't know, I got about 20 bucks, though."

Garren stayed silent while he thought, leaning on Arunue's shoulder. When he really thought about it, he just wanted to be alone with her right now. Face flushing out of nowhere, he smiled weakly, "Let's go get some breakfast."

"Ok," she replied, feeling a little hungry anyway. The pair ended up at a local place, sitting across from each other. Niether was really eating much, but Garren just couldn't pull his eyes off of her. When she glanced at him, he looked away, embaressed and caught completely off-guard. He hoped that she didn't think he was looking at her hair again. Something about those lively green eyes attracted his cloudy blue.

"What's up with you?" Arunue said softly, leaning her head on her hands. Garren could hardly look her in the eyes, smiling shyly, "Public."

IC- Arunue sighed as they walked down the street, the sun just starting to set. "Mmm, I hope you don't mind, but i'm gunna keep you late, tonight. I have no where to go, hiro's at home with Cent," she said calmly. "Cent?" Garren asked. Arunue looked up at him. "Yeah. My brother's boyfriend." Garren raised an eyebrow. comment and you're dead, she thought. he seemed to read her mind and grinned. "So," she continued, "I'll probably just crash behind some building tonight." She grinned. Garren shook his head. "N-n-no. My mother's g-g-gone tonight, you can s-stay with m-me." he replied, shakily. He was blushing. Arunue smiled. "Thanks. OOC: Ooooh, they're being naughty. ^____^
~~~
Garren faught to control his huge blush, looking away from Arunue as best he could. The fact that she now grabbed his arm and leaned her head on his shoulder didn't help these efforts. She acted like she was oblivious to his self-embaressment, but knowing her she was probably enjoying watching him struggle. They kept walking in silence, Garren blushing but enjoying being so close to Arunue. He started thinking how odd it was that they had known each other for so long, and neither of them had ever gotten involved with another person, so to speak.
After a while Arunue yawned and seemed to lean on him more heavily. "I'm sleepy... can we go back now?" Garren was thrown back into reality and looked at her drowsy form, "Uh... s-sure." The pair proceeded on to Garren's house, being careful to go the right direction in the darkness. The house was completely dark, but the door was open when Garren turned the knob.
He stepped in with Arunue close behind, rubbing her eyes to keep them open. "Um... you can sleep in my mom's bed if you like, o-or there's the couch..." Heh, even though I usually use the couch anyway, he thought. His own bed was uncomfortable and the matress was nearly broken, so he tended to sleep on the couch. "Mmm..." was the sleepy reply he got. Arunue headed towards the couch, pulling Garren along by his arm. Upon arrival, she pulled him down and curled up. Before Garren even realized what was going on, she was covered in the blanket he kept on the floor and leaning on him sleepily. He opened his mouth to talk, but couldn't say anything. He was fortunate it was dark and she couldn't see him blush.
Arunue yawned and wrapped her arms around Garren sleepily.He held her close so that she wouldn't fall off the couch; it was a small couch.(<.<->.>) Garren stroked her hair gently and watched her sleep slightly less nervous when she was asleep. She was warm, though. Although, of course, she wasn't exactly asleep. Arunue let out a relaxing sigh and snuggled closer to him, and kissed him gently.
~~~

Garren's eyes widened a little, his lips quivering. If his faced wasn't flushed before, it sure as hell was now. Arunue just snuggled her head in his neck and held him close. Garren swallowed. He hadn't been expecting that. He suddenly felt very warm all over his body, as if he had a fever. He wanted to go outside and bang his head against a wall. But he didn't dare move. He held Arunue in his arms as if they had been lovers for years, her warmth overriding any heat that made him uncomfortable.

For a moment, Arunue opened her eyes and made a frown. She sat up slightly and pulled Garren's legs onto the couch so that he was laying back against the arm rest. Satisfied, she layed back on top of him, arms around his neck. She finally drifted off to sleep, whispering into Garren's chest as she did so. Garren strained his ears to hear, but her voice was too soft to hear. At last, he relaxed a little. Before he let himself fall asleep, he kissed Arunue on the cheek as softly as humanly possible. She smiled warmly in her sleep and snuggled closer.

Arunue yawned as she awoke, her head on Garren's chest, clutching his shirt. He was still asleep. She shifted her head so she could hear his heartbeat and closed her eyes and smiled. It was still dark out, still early, early morning. Garren wrapped his arms around her tighter in his sleep and she sighed relaxingly, loving having him hold her.

Garren stretched as he woke up, yawning and sighing. He looked at arunue laying snuggled up beside him and blushed insanely and he realized she was awake.

Arunue smiled warmly, holding back a giggle at his embaressment. "Good morning," she said softly, leaning closer to him to kiss him gently. Garren of course, blushed even more intensely. Arunue just smiled and put her head on his shoulder again. "I guess we should get up..." she said slowly to see how he would react. Garren fumbled for words, "N-no, I mean... we don't... have to..." his voice got smaller as he spoke. Arunue grinned mischieviously and kissed his cheek. From the way she held onto him, she said 'I know.'

Garren relaxed again and swallowed. His lips quivered with the anticipation of what he was about to do. Slowly - cautiously - he lowered his head to Arunue's. Almost instinctly, she raised hers to his. Their lips touched and Garren felt that warmth wash over him again. He was so undeniably in love with her.

An hour or two later, Arunue entered her home, chewing on a peice of bread. "Im hummm!" she said with a mouthfull of bread in her mouth. She walked into the living room. Her brother and Cent were sitting on the couch, talking to a young man and woman that Arunue didn't know. "Hey.." she said, entering, standing behind Cent. Cent hadreally deep black hair and was deeply tanned. He had white streaks in his hair, white makeup and black lipstick on, aswell as a long coat covering a simple T-shirt and jeans; his ussual aperral. Cent also had his hair greased down; something he did often as well. "Arunue-dono" the red-haired man sitting across from her brother said, "My name's Shakia. I'm a friend of your brother's. We're just talking buissines. Nothing to worry about." He smiled happily. But he had the joyful smile of an insane man keeping a secret. Not that he was! Arunue had no intention of thinking he was crazy, she just anolized his smile that way. Arunue nodded and started to leave the room. "Oh, 'Runue-chan?" Cent called for her in his deep, strong voice. "Yeah?" she asked, looking back. "Just wondering," he began, "Where'd you stay last night?" Hiroshi turned to look at her to. "Oh, I slept with Garren." Cent and Hiroshi stared at her for a moment. Arunue realized what she'd said and shook her head. "No!! I mean I spent the night with hi-- I splept at his house......oh, you know what I mean." she walked away frustrated. Cent grinned and shook his head.

Garren sat silently on his bed, looking into space. Even now, his face was flushed and he could still feel Arunue's arms around him. It was so obvious he loved her, but he couldn't see it. If anything, that intense, passionate heat he felt whenever they touched confused him. He knew he never wanted her to go, but just couldn't tell himself why.

At long last, Garren stood and took a breath. He took a step towards the door and hesitated. No, he couldn't go now, not so quickly. He drew back, but hesitated again. He wanted to see her - had to see her. He went for the door and began to open it. He paused half way through. Wouldn't it seem strange to go now? What would she think? No, that doesn't matter... he told himself.

When Garren finally reached Arunue's home, he was unpleasently shocked when he saw Cent and two other people he didn't know. He paused, embaressed and finally looked at Hiroshi. "Um... where's... where's Arunue?" Hiroshi gave him a curious look and nodded his head to the other room, "Over there."

Garren bowed quickly and turned. "I hope you were gentle with her Garren-san," Cent remarked in a playful manner. Garren turned back, blushing madly, "W-what... uh..." Cent laughed and waved a hand at him, "I'm just messin' with ya." With his face still red, Garren turned quickly and went to find Arunue.

"Hey, just making sure you two aren't-..." Hiroshi paused, "Ahem." Garren drew back from Arunue so fast he nearly fell over. Arunue seemed startled for a moment then smiled happily, "Hi Hiro."

"There will be no making out in my study, thank you," Hiroshi leaned against the door frame and glared at both of them. Garren was so flushed by now, he could hardly bring himself to look Hiroshi in the eye. Arunue stuck her toungue out at him, "Fine, we'll go outside."

Before her brother could protest, she had grabbed Garren's arm and pulled him out of the study. As they passed, Hiroshi eyed him with suspiscion and Garren bowed quickly. A moment later, he was out back with Arunue. She plopped down on the ground and leaned back, "Ugh, he never let's me have any fun." Garren smiled and sat next to her, "That's because he cares about you."

Hiroshi and Cent watched from the window as Arunue punched Garren's arm playfully. "They're so cute together," Cent remarked, "Don't you think Hiro-chi?" Hioshi sighed and turned towards the other room where Shakia and the woman were waiting, "Yeah... right."

Hiroshi sighed and looked over to their guests. Shakia rose to his feet and bowed. "I beleive this is all that we can accomplish today," he said, elegantly, grinning. Hiroshi bowed and walked him to the door.
Arunue sighed and leaned back. She loved her brother. But she gave him to slack when it came to Garren. She looked at him with a slightly sarcastic look. He grinned. She rested her head on his shoulder gently. He put his arm around her and hugged her tight.
Cent opened the back door and kneeled behind Arunue. He gave her a kiss on the cheek, leaving a print of black lipstick on her face and hugged her. "Well, nice to see you again, sweety pie, next time I promise I'll stay longer." he said as he stood back up and went back inside to go out the front door. Arunue smiled and rubbed at the lipstick, only smearing it. Garren chuckled.
