Garren sighed and relaxed as Arunue (who had given up all attempts at getting rid of Cent's lipstick) leaned on him again. She glanced back at the house as if making sure of something. Without warning, while Hiroshi was busy saying goodbye to Cent and the others, she grabbed Garren and kissed him. This would have been enough to make the boy blush, but she pushed it another level by slowly (yet rather agressively) slipping her toungue inside his mouth. To say Garren was surprised would be the mother of all understatements. However, the passion of the unexpected moment kept him from falling backwards and completely ruining it.

When Arunue snesed Hiroshi would be returning, she parted their lips and leaned on hi magain as if nothing had happened. She did, however, lick her lips with a rather smug look on her face. Hiroshi glanced out the window, just to make sure, while Garren was left wondering how a fourteen year old girl had learned to kiss like that.

"Hey Garren..." Arunue said softly, staring into space. "Huh?! What?" Garren was still more than a little shaky. "Do you..." there was a long pause while Arunue considered the question. "Do you love me?"
The boys heart suddenly skipped three beats only to continue at light-speed. He was so taken aback by the question he started shivering, though it was hardly cold. "Wha... w-what?"

Arunue waited for a response. Garren was speechless. "I-uh.." Hiroshi opened the backdoor and walked out onto the back porch. It was facing east, so they couldn't see the sunset and it was fairly dark. Hiroshi sighed and sat next to Arunue and put his arms around her and pulled her onto his lap. "Heya, sweety-pie." he said, grinning. Arunue smiled back, a little guilty that Garren didn't get to answer the question. Hiroshi kissed her gently and messed up her hair then got up, but didn't leave. He sighed and looked out over the land behind their home. "You gunna come in soon, sweet heart?" he asked, compleatly ignoring Garrens excistance. Arunue hesitated then nodded. "Yeah, I'll be in pretty soon." she said, simply. Hiroshi smiled down at her, keeping his eyes off garren. "Ask Garren if he wants to come in for some dinner. I'm sure you two must be hungry." and with that, he vanished into the house again. Arunue stood up and pulled garren to his feet, grabbing his shirt. Damn she was strong. "Come on in." She said with a smile, and no sign of the previous akwardness.

Garren just stood for a moment, utterly speechless. Arunue turned at the door, "Well, ya comin' or not?" Garren shook off his astonishment and followed her inside. The girl nearly skipped into the kitchen after Hiroshi, Garren not far behind. 'She's certainly happy...' he thought to himself.

"Hey 'Runue, where's that tuna I asked you to get?" Hiroshi called with his head inside a cabinet. Arunue glared at him, "You didn't ask me to get tuna..." Hiroshi's head came out of the cabinet, "Didn't I? Huh... well, ramen it is I guess." Arunue put a hand on her forhead.

Ten minutes later all three sat at the table, a bowl of ramen before them. Garren stared into space, thinking. Did he love her? It would explain that weird feeling he got whenever she was near. But he had always thought he would know when he was in love. How could he be in love with ehr and not know it? It didn't make... "-en? Helloooo Garren?"

"Eh?!" Garren snapped to attention as Arunue gave him a dirty look and Hiroshi just sighed and kept eating. "Welcome back." Garren blushed and began eating.

Arunue smiled at Garren as she washed the dishes. Garren sat at the table still, Hiroshi leaning back in his chair. "So, Hiroshi, what's with you?" Arunue asked. He seemed to know what she ment. "Aha. Nothing." he said, grinning. Arunue shook her head and dried off her hands. "You're always like this after Cent leaves." she said, grinning and walking back to the table. Hiroshi started to laugh. He tried to hold it in but ended up giggling like a school girl as he left the room. Gerren raised and eyebrow. "Oh, those two are too close." Arunue said. "He always is in such a good mood after he leaves....not for the fact that he's gone, but for the fact that he's been here." Garren chuckled. Arunue sat beside him and kissed him on the cheek. Garren took a deep breath and looked at her. "Arunue...?"

"Arunue...?" Garren wanted to look her the face, but had to avert his eyes. "Hm?" Arunue looked at him, then, realizing he was being serious, put on an appropriate expression. "A-about earlier... um..." He looked at the door to make sure Hiroshi wasn't going to walk in on them again. Unfortunately, after this brief break in his train of thought, he stumbled for words and looked at his feet.

Arunue saw him struggling but still waited for him to speak. Garren swallowed and opened his mouth to talk, "I... I..." What do I say? Ooh, what do I do? What... what do I... feel?

"Arunue... I d-... I lo-..." he looked down, hiding his face from Arunue. "I... I just don't know! I'm sorry!" He stood and ran, trying to keep from crying. Hiroshi hardly noticed as he passed and bolted out the door.

It had started to rain. Garren kept running - to where, he didn't know. He didn't care. He couldn't bear to look Arunue in the face now. He fell, landing on hard concrete. So he sat slumped on the sidewalk, tears mingling with the rain. He clutched his chest - it hurt, burned. His heart burned.

Arunue remained sitting in her chair at the table. Hiroshi peeked his head in. "Did Garren just leave?" he asked. Arunue stared at her hands. ""yes....he did." she said slowly. Hiroshi stared at her for a minute, then watched her get up and go upstairs to her room.
I'm not going to bother him, it's obvios he hates me, he has to, that's the only reason he'd behave in such away. i'll leave him alone, I wont bother him. Arunue's thoughs faded as she drifted to sleep, not crying, not upset, just tired and lonely.

Garren didn't know how much time passed as he sat in the rain. Eventually, the tears stopped because he couldn't cry anymore. He just stared blankly at the ground. When the cold finally cut through to him, he stood slowly and walked home miserably. Without even bothering to dry himself off, he lay on the couch and fell asleep immediately.

Sunday morning, six AM. Garren awoke slowly, his eyes opening blearily. The first thing he felt was a dull yet burning pain behind his eyes from crying so much. He sat up as slowly as he could, but still made his head hurt. Memories of the previous day came back gradually. Garren curled himself up, hugging his knees. He was still soggy, his hair dripping down into his eyes. Why? Why had he run away so quickly? Why couldn't he just have said it to her face? Why couldn't he...

He felt tears sting the back of his eyes again, and bit his lip. He didn't know if he loved Arunue. He might never know. But what he did know was... he needed her.

"Arunue..."

Garren stood up quickly, regretting it when hs head throbbed. Without bothering to dry off, he went to the door, grabbed a clean jacket, and ran for Arunue's house. He stumbled onto the porch, out of breath. He knocked twice and tried to stand straight. As expected, Hiroshi answered the door and gave him prehaps the strangest look yet. "Where's... Arunue?" Garren said in between breathes.

Hiroshi raised an eyebrow and looked at him a long moment. It was obvious he had been crying, wet, and miserable for several hours. "She's upstairs," he said at last. "Thank you!" Withou another word, Garren bolted up the stairs. He paused at the top, heart beating hard. Was this really such a good idea? What would he do when he saw her? What would she do? No, he thought, that doesn't matter.

Arunue looked up as Garren opened the door. She had been just waking up, dazed as he had been. When she saw him, she looked away. Her face was one of regret, misery and loneliness. But above all, it was empty.

Garren rushed to her side, tears breaking through his eyelids. "Arunue... I'm so sorry." He hugged her tight, hiding his tear-racked face in her shoulder.

Arunue hestated then put her arms around him. She held him, but stared at the floor. She didn't say anything, she just let him hold her. Hiroshi walked away from the room and went downstairs. He'd followed Garren upstairs and watched him for a moment, but he'd rather not. He sighed and poured himself some coffee and looked over some papers that their previous guests had left. He grabbed a pen and signed at the bottom, then threw the paper onto the far counter.
"I love you." Arunue said gently. Garren sniffed, finnally calming down and held her tightly. He hadn;'t let go the whole time he was up there. "I love you." she whispered again.

Garren's heart nearly stopped. Those three whispered words made his entire body thrill. He felt as if he was melting. It was suddenly made so clear to him how much she mattered to him. He clutched her close for a moment, trying to hold back another wave of tears. Slowly, he eased back, holding Arunue at arms length.

"Arunue... I'm so sorry. I don't know what I was doing..." his voice was soft and apologetic. Still, Arunue stared downward. "But... the truth is... I love you. And... I always have." He took her in his arms again, and with a dawning realization of what he had just said, her grip on him tightened until they were both locked in a passionate embrace.

Arunue backed away from him a moment, looking at his face at last. Their faces grew closer, heat eminating from flushed cheeks. It was like their first kiss. Both fell quickly into each other's embrace as their lips touched.

IC- Garren pulled Arunue closer just as she collapsed in his arms, passing out.

Garren stroked her hair affectionetly. He'd picked her up and layed her on her bed, hoping she was alright. She used to often pass out when she was younger from stress, but this was the first time she had in a long time. Almost a year.
"I love you." Arunue whispered in her sleep. Garren kissed her on the cheek gently. He'd been watching her sleep for an hour or so already. He wanted her so badly to wake up, but she looked so peaceful, sleeping.
Arunue opened her eyes slowly and sniled at him. He smiled as well. She gently pulled on his shirt, pulling him to lay down beside her.
He lay down and brushed the hair out of her face. She pulled him closer and held him gently. They both smiled happily, looking into each other's eyes. Garren slipped into sleep before Arunue did, but nevertheless, they fell asleep in eachothers arms.

Garren opened his eyes slowly, waking up for the second time that day. The first thing he saw was Arunue, snuggled close to him with her arms around his neck. He smiled and hugged her sleeping form. How he wanted to kiss those tired lips.

"Well well, morning Lover Boy." Garren jumped and flipped around to see Hiroshi leaning in the door frame. He smiled slyly and ran ah and through his hair. "Ah... uh, I um..." Garren, caught completely off-guard, thought quick for an answer.

Hiroshi's smile just grew wider. Arunue stirred, her eyes opening and blinking a few times. "Huh... Garren, what is...?" She saw Hiroshi in the door way and froze, turning as red as Garren was. "HIRO, GET OUT OF MY ROOM!" She threw a pillow at him, which was dodged with ease. Hiroshi laughed and turned to go, "Lunch is ready you two," he said as he walked away.

"Wha...? Lunch?" Garren said what was on both of their minds. At the same time, they realized that it had been morning when they fell asleep.

Arunue sighed and closed her eyes, laying back down. "I'm tired." she said softly. Garren layed beside her and kissed her ont he cheek gently. She turned and kissed him deeply. Of course, he blushed intensly.

Arunue yawned as she sat down at the table. Hiro had cooked up some expensive looking food. "Sence when do you cook?" she asked, raising an eyebrow and sitting beside Garren.
"Sence now." Hiroshi said, smiling and sitting down. Arunue leaned to whisper something in Garrens ear. "Alright, ont he count of three we run for our lives and scream like little girls." she whispered lound enough for Hiroshi to hear. They all laughed and smiled. "'Runue, I need to talk to you when garren leaves, I'm not saying he has to, I'm saying that next time you're in this house and he's not here, I need to talk to you." Hiroshi explained. "O..Kay..." she said quietly.

Garren blushed, assuming that it was about him. Though it wasn't, he started to worry that Hiroshi would condemn Arunue for their little 'sleep-over'. After all, it wasn't he- ok, so it was her idea. But he still felt as if he should take the blame. Everyone was oddly silent through the rest of the meal.

When he finished, Garren stood up and bowed to Hiroshi. "Thank you," he looked at Arunue, "I'll... see you." Arunue started to stand to sotp him, but Hiroshi gave her a look. She sat back down and watched him exit, "Bye..."

Hiroshi sighed to himself, 'that takes care of that...

Arunue looked over at hiroshi. "You've got a month." he said softly. Arunue didn't say anything so he continued. "We'll be leaving in a months time, going to stay at the dojo, I have guest rooms we can accomidtate, I have only one student living there now, there's enough room for us." Arunue sighed and looked away from him. "We can't afford to stay here," he added, "and you'll still be able to see Garren. Once, of course, he gets his own means of transportation, I can't take the time to drive down here. Although you probably won't be able to see him at all untill he gets a car. and he's got school and a life, he's not gunna be down to see us too much....I've already sold the house, and this way we'll have more money for ourselves."
Arunue knew not to argue and got up and left the room. Hiroshi sighed and watche dher leave, putting his head down on the table once she'd gone.

It was a little cloudy today, after the previous day's rainfall. Despite this, the sun shone proudly through the skies, warming the soaked earth. Garren waited patiently on the sidewalk for Arunue. For fear of Hiroshi, he dared not sit on the porch as was his usual routine. At last, Arunue emerged from the house and stood beside him. They exchanged smiles but maintaned an awkward silence.

Once on school grounds, the pair looked at each other, standing comfortably close. But Garren looked down shyly and muttered his goodbye. The two had one class together, at midday. Though they sat at opposite ends of the room, they kept sneaking glances at each other. And every time, one would blush and look away as the other turned to look.

At long last, the final bell rang and the two met again at their usual place. The sidewalk was still full of students eager to get home, so they walked along in silence. Finally, well out of earshot of anybody else, Arunue stopped and turned to Garren. "Um, about yesterday..."

Garren swallowed, "I'm sorry, it was my fault... I... I should have been more-" Arunue silenced him, "No, Garren, that's not it..."

"I hope Hiro wasn't too hard on you 'Runue, i-" Arunue grabbed the boy to shut him up. "Garren, that's not it. Hiro... he..." the girl's eyes began to glisten with held back tears. "We're leaving. Hiro's taking us to his dojo, he's sold the house and everything!" She gripped Garren's shirt and buried her face in it while shock faded into sadness, sadness into regret.

Garren wraped his arms around her for a moment then pulled her further along the street. She sniffed and seemed small walking as close as she could to him, his arm around her shoulders. They were closest to Garren's home, so that's where they went, Garren wanting Arunue to feel better, but he couldn't say anything while they were walking down the street, and Arunue had nothing to say never the less.
