Dunno if this was done before, but I don't care.

I think this is a good oppurtunity to meet other OB members if you discuss your heritages. I know several people have multiple heritages, but just name the most prominent ones in your life.

Me: Polish/ Irish: So, after polka-ing for 10 hours and shoving multiple links of Polish sausage down my gullet, I go home sloppy drunk and beat the piss out of my wife. Yay for the Polish and Irish.

^ What a lovely way to live your life.

I've near-equal amounts of Spanish and Filipino blood running from both sides of my family. It wouldn't really be a surprise if I was born with gray-green eyes (and am really glad that it wasn't expressed; would go horribly with my tan skin).

Mostly Italian and from New Jersey. (I only mention the location, cause you can imagine how I talk.) think...Godfather Italian mixed with Sopranos Mafia/New Jersey. (but I cant do anything about it, i try not to sound like that! lol, but I always come across to others around the country like a "smartass", but its only my accent) =(

Other mixes are a slight bit of Greek and Canadian. (we....dont talk about our Canadian side.)

Hm, I think I've got you all beat so far. I'm Irish, Italian, Scottish, German, and Russian. >.< Yeah, let me list out what heritage presides over my attitude/persona:

Irish- This is where I get my swift temper. I don't know how many of the OBers have actually seen my temper, but it's not a pretty sight. Here's where I get my fiesty-ness and playfulness.

Italian- My sweeter side. More of the romance comes from the Italian blood. Can't help it, Italians are lovers ~_^. Although, you get me rawled up, I can pull the Mafia routine. Is it as bad as my Irish temper....god no, lol. Plus, here's where I get my unruly hair -_-

Russian- This is where I get my looks. If you have ever seen a picture of me, I look more Russian than I do Italian. I've got the eyes, lips, and nose..and also my skin tone and dark hair. My personality leans more on the Russian side; reserved, quiet.

The Scottish and German traits really don't take too much presidence over me. You can see those traits in my older sisters. But I love my heritage. All of those three emphasized give me the boost in life that I need. I'm calm, collected, and very reserved; yet, I'm not a prune. My Irish and Italian traits get activated, and I'm playful and talkative..gives me character. Plus, I love the Russian heritage for the dark features ~_^

So, it all balances out.

I'm half Mexican, and that's where most of my looks come from. Dark skin, dark hair, dark eyes, and whatnot. I can also do a sexy accent. Ooh baby.

I'm also part English, German, Dutch, and Native American...though if you asked me what tribe, or whatever, I wouldn't be able to answer, because I don't know. It's such a miniscule part of my heritage that I've never paid much heed to it, anyway.

I'm mostly Polynesian and German. Weird mix, yes. But indeed, it happened. My father decended from German immgrants to the United States, where he joined the Navy and met my mother on the island of Oahu in Hawaii. Tis where I was born and rasied, in paradise. :D

Not trying to keep it brief, not really that much to say though.

Well, I'm an interesting blend of Black and Blacker. :p

Seriously, I consider myself African-American and Creole. For those of you who don't know, Creole is a term used to describe the descendants of the original French settlers in the Louisiana Territory-- what is now the Southern region of the United States. It's not to be confused with the similar group, Cajun, which consists of descendants of exiled French-Canadians who migrated to the Louisiana Territory much later. Creole is also (although rarely) used to describe the descendants of Spanish settlers in the same area.

I am full-blooded Japanese. My mom was born in Japan and moved here when she was 16 years old. My dad was born here in the States after his parents moved here from Japan. I don't think I really need to tell you guys what my features look like. I have jet black hair, I am fairly short (only 5'2") and have brown almond shaped eyes.

It's funny, my mom has been here for decades but she still has a super thick Japanese accent. Most of time I have to translate for her even when she is speaking english! Many people can't understand the accent. Oh well.

My husband's roots is a mixed bag of German, Swiss, French and a dash of Native American. I find a mixed heritage very interesting. He has fair skin, brown hair and beautiful blue eyes. His family has been in the States since the early 1800's. He pretty much considers himself just an American. He has been so far removed from his roots that I guess you can say he has been replanted here.

I am full-blooded Korean. If you ask me North or South, I'm afraid I'm going to have to slap you with some random large solid vegetable. [And kimchi.]

I only lived in Korea for three years, though. Then I lived in about six countries after that, learnt how to speak English in England + Denmark - oddly kept the accent as far as English goes, and remain fluent in speaking Korean despite never stepping foot inside a Korean school. I've grown much slower in reading Korean, though. =/

I... look... Asian. It's only the odd idiots here and there who ask me if I'm Mexican. [No offense, of course, just that I look not in the slightest Mexican.] I have slightly less-stereotypical-Asian eyes, and am 5'8'', but that's about it. Oh, and as Asian culture goes (now-a-days), my hair has been bleached/dyed. ^_^;

Ha, I got here before Chabichou. I'm Arab/American, and black. My Arab side is from Sudan, which is as south as the Middle East gets. I speak Arabic, but not exactly fluently, and I have....God knows where I get my looks from, I think it's from my mom's side.

Lol. Yeah, I'm Arab too. Palestinian to be specific (like people don't already know that). However, I think when you really go back to Arab's ancestery, most of us are not really pure Arab. My mom told me the only pure arabs are people from Yemen. I think I have some greek ancestery since the present day Israel was ruled by the greeks for a while. I've been mistaken for a greek once. People find it hard tobelieve I'm Arab sometimes: "What? Your Arabic? I thought you were greek!" or "Hey, are you jewish?".

Interesting, I think this shows a bit how Arabs and Jews are related. The pure Arabs are not related to Jews, but the rest of the Arabs like palestinians and lebanese are related to them, since we share common, armenian ancestors with the Jews.

Γειάσου ο καθένας. Or for those who can't read greek, Hello Everyone. My heritage, though a bit odd, is really quite uniqe in my eyes.

My mother's family is Irish, My father's family is Greek. Together, you get me, a dark haired, freakishly pale blue eyed girl. I can drink all night and shout "OOMPA!" while doing so.

although I know a few select phrases of the Greek language (the great of them cursewords), I'd like to become fluent in my herative language. I'd also like to go to Greece and Ireland sometime in my life, and perhaps see distant family.

untill then I'll have to deal with people asking me if I'm italian or english, ah well...

I've got a fair bit in me, heh, ranging from German to Aboriginal (indigenous Australians), but most of them have so little bearing they hardly count, lol. Seriously, at a glance you would not be able to see the Aboriginal in me at all, haha.

I guess primarily though, I'm English/Italian, with an English build and Italian colouring... So short(ish) and stocky, but with the near black hair and brown eyes, heh. Most people can't seem to place it though lol (apart from one sharp bloke I met at a servo once), which is a bit of Godsend, haha. The term 'w0g' doesn't mix well with me.

Well, at least I can make this short and just say I'm purely Hong Kongnese or however you say it :P My mum did tell me which part of China my ancestors were from but I can't quite remember....

Seriously, I'm Chinese but just about every Chinese will have a problem being grouped into being from China. For goodness sakes, I'm from Hong Kong not China, that's completely different XD

Although culture wise I'm lost. Even though I've been in New Zealand since I was 8 months old and I've experience little of the kiwi culture, yet I never got involved with much Chinese either. How I managed that is a mystery.

Good thing I can speak Cantonese, a smidgen of Mandarin but I can not read nor write ^^"

EDIT: Just a bit more on the HK vs China, apparently people from China look different to people from HK. Supposedly people from HK are better looking. But that could be because the adults I know are slightly prejudice.

hmmmmm. Well I am pure Chapin. Both my parents were born in Guatemala. I would have expected to be a bit tanner but No. I am not that Tan at all. I am very white but I still am Tan. I am a pure Meztiso.A meztiso is a type of culture that was created when Spanish/English settlers came to Central America and raped the ingigenous people. It's a sad story really. My roots lie in rape *sigh* how sad. I speak Spanish and English fluently. I mostly speak spanish to my parents because they dont know English yet. Even tho they have been here 10 years before I was born (I am 15 btw). Most of my hispanic friends would rather speak English than Spanish. I think that is pathetic and sad. They say they are pure latinos and yet they dont act like it. They use their Heritage as an Image. it's really pathetic.

Since my last post didn't really justify much...

My mom's side is Irish, dad's side is Polish. I kinda have the Polish look; dark-ish hair, the longer nose. Both my parents have brown eyes, so I dunno where my blue eyes came from.

Heh, after I think about it, when it comes to the history of my heritages, they both don't have many positive sides. Because, you know, the Polish were tourtered for years and millions of them died in the Holoucaust, and then Ireland has the potatoe famine and the Catholic/Protestant battle, too.

I really like Polish sausage. It's good, for those who haven't tried it.

My father had two African American parents, making him 100% African American (with slight trace ethnicities thrown in the mix far back.)

My mother had a white (Scottish... I think) mother, and an African American father. She's 50% black, 50% white.

This makes me 75% African American, 25% White American. Heh. White American... sounds so wrong, but that's what there is on the standardized questionarres.

Aside from being black and white, my (biological) brother has extremely Asian eyes. It's really strange, as I don't know anyone in my family who was Asian. At all. But I guess that's cool. My aunt-by-marriage is 100% Korean. I love making people think I'm Asian, telling them that she's my biological aunt.

I'm half-Polish, half-Korean. Some people think I look Asian, some don't--when I was little, strangers often assumed that my mother was my babysitter. I guess the fact that she looked really young then (and still does, actually) probably added to the confusion. I used to understand quite a bit of Korean, but it sort of flew out of my head or something after I began learning to read in English.

The race polls on standardized tests are pretty annoying, especially if they don't let you pick more than one option (or if they include bizarre choices like "multicultural"--since when is that an ethnicity!?).

I am full-blooded Korean. If you ask me North or South, I'm afraid I'm going to have to slap you with some random large solid vegetable. [And kimchi.]

ROCK ON.

:) Anyways, I'm Korean (obviously) and I'm proud to say...I eat kimchi on a daily basis. :3 It is quite good if you Americans get used to the smell. XD Excuse the discrimination, there.

Hm. Koreans. We are pretty dang cool people. I'm an odd one because most of my friends are white (Koreans in the whole Atlanta area tend to stick together in this massive Korean group), but I still like to hang out with Koreans. Most of us are proud to be asian (You'd laugh at all the people at our high school who want to be Korean, so they ask us the 'dub' them Korean. The initiaiton is to be able to twiddle your pen in a circle with two fingers, LOL) and we're supportive and all that junk.

Some downsides: I tend to dislike the 'FOBS' [Fresh-off-the-Boat], basically Koreans who just moved to America, because most of them have this very irritating America-sucks-Korea-Owns-Everything attitude. Once I heard one of them say she didn't care about the election because 'American wasn't her real country' and I wanted to slap her. A lot.

Another 'bad' thing...I have to go to Korean school every Saturday. I've went there since what, Kindergarten? I'm fluent in Korean [which gives me another cool thing: I'm bilingual!], so basically I just go to Korean school now to learn evil grammar things and read poems and stuff. Fun.

And then there's the racism...bleh. A lot of Koreans my age (and parents) expect all Korean guys/girls to marry other Korean guys/girls...I think I'm the only one in the group of Koreans I hang out with that would marry another race. And a lot of Koreans (in the Atlanta area, as far as I know) tend to not like Japanese people at all. Or white people... *shrug* It's understandable for me, though.

Eh...anyways, I love being Korean.

I can almost say I am a pureblooded Scotsman... but no. I am 70& Scots, 20% English, and 10% German. I arbitratily picked those percentages... so I may be way off.

Anyhoo... I am the typical Anglo-Saxon/Western dude.. 5'11", (although I like to say 6'), emerald green eyes, jet black/suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuper dark brown hair, and a lean figure. I also have an elf ear... lol. My left ear is really pointy! And no, it wasn't a car accident, just genes. One strange thing is, my cheekbones are really high, but they aren't prominent...

I am never asked where I am from... lmao!
