Baron your losing your touch, would people be proud that she took a baloon? Imagine the feelings of the poor boy she took it from! TRY AGAIN.
I am horrible at riddles and all...but might as well give Baron's a whirl, nothing better to do.

Are the posts 1000 feet apart? If the rope is 1000 feet rope is between them, that means they are stationary in the ground and holidng the rope taught. And if the rope sags the posts stay where they are, but just the rope itself sags down, since the poles are probably cemented to the ground or something, heh.. >_>

EDIT: Well it is 1000 isn't it? Since it just talks about the vertical posts being a certain length, and the rope 1000 feet and then it sags downwards vertically to a certain height. That won't affect the distance between the posts, but the distance between the rope and the ground.

Well there is my wild answer. I don't have any myself, heh.

Correct, but to describe the problem better for everyone, if the post is 750ft high, and the rope 250 feet off the ground, then the rope hang down 500ft per post, and seeing as the rope is only 1000ft long, then it is folded in half, and the posts are right next to each other.

My riddle: Many things can create one. It can be of any shape or size. It is created for various reasons, and it can shrink or grow with time. What is it?
Zeta, the rope is only a 1000ft long, but it sags, so how can the distance be 1000ft?
I was assuming the posts were fixed to the ground and not able to move. And that somehow the rope would sag whether by losting the knots or something, heh. Besides, I am horrible at riddles as I stated, heh.

Another guess at another of your Riddles, Baron. I think that it's a baby/child/offspring. Because many things can create it, like different animals and they can shrink or grow, grow when they're young, shrink when they're old. Meh, just a random thought.

An educated guess: the words "all" and "everything"?
*dodges an ashtray to the head*
There's not much to go by and if Baron gives out more clues, he might just give away the answer. *sigh*

The 'd@mn' answer it is then. The answer to my riddle was 'hole'. Many holes can form one hole, it can be any shape or size, and it can shrink or grow with time. That riddle did have a fair few possible alternate answers, but some of the ones listed here didn't actually meet all of the criteria. So, no cookies for you!

My riddle: What is the value of 1/2 of 2/3 of 3/4 of 4/5 of 5/6 of 6/7 of 7/8 of 8/9 of 9/10 of 1,000?

Do it without a calculator! It is incredibly easy if you do it correctly :)

Nice work Morpheus. Hope you didn't use a calculator :p

My riddle: When Ashley was six years old she hammered a nail into her favorite tree to mark her height. Ten years later at age sixteen, Ashley returned to see how much higher the nail was. If the tree grew by five centimeters each year, how much higher would the nail be?
