When I point up it's bright, but when I point down it's dark.
What am I?
You are a lightswitch!

Now since it is almost 3:30am here. I am going to post my riddle and put the answer under a spoiler tag. I am sure someone will try an answer this one before I get back to check on the responses. No cheating, be honest and try to answer it then look at the correct answer. Hopefully this one hasn't been asked yet!

Different lights do make me strange,
thus into different sizes I will change.
What am I?

Answer:
YOU BETTER NOT BE CHEATING! Now if you really want to know the answer it is the pupil of the eye. Bright light or dim light will make it change sizes.
I am off to sleep...zzzz

What happens on Sundays? Do they both tell the truth? Do they both lie? Do they both do whatever the heck they feel like? Perhaps they turn into doves and fly away.
The simple answer would be "Sunday is their day off." They put on their bikinis, go to the beach and sip pina coladas 'til 12:01 am the next day.

Couldn't resist replying. :D

@ Panda: Reflections, maybe? *goes off to check the answer* Ngrgh.

Panda- I'm thinking shadow though I'm probably not even close to right... maybe I'll think about it a bit more so I don't end up spoiling the answer. ...I checked and... not right!^^
And about my two old riddles
For the first (what is the only tree Jen will like) Sequoia is right but the answer to the second (highest number using two digits) isn?t 99
And I?ve got another easy one!
Someone at a party introduces you to your mother's only sister's husband's sister in law. He has no brothers. What do you call this lady?

The answer to mine is indeed
compromise
.

Here is another, similar one. I saw it in a Mindware catalogue several years ago, and it haunted me, literally, for years until one day--poof! I understood it! I have also posted this one before (what can I say, I exhausted all my favorite riddles in a different thread some time ago. :))

Alone I am a cliff
Something like a knoll
With por I am mush
Sitting in a bowl.

What am I?

it's astounding,

Ah! Giveaway! You are a ridge! (right?)

*confused* "Mom, perhaps?

Heads up! Here comes another riddle:
I have four wings, but cannot fly,
I never laugh and never cry;
On the same spot I'm always found,
toiling away with little sound.
What am I?

@Junkobakaiba: It's your mother. The ending part is the place to look for the answer. In other words, it's your maternal auntie's husband, whose sister in law has to be your mother since it said 'mother's only sister'.

Here's a new riddle for you.

I'm neither here nor there, an in-between place.
Bend over backwards, I'm a dance with pace.

And in case that one's too easy here's another.

The finest performance, in history books I'm found.
An authentic copy, I'm an archive of sound.
Is the first one "limbo" or "tango"? The second one is a record.

This is pretty easy, but I can't think of any really good ones, soo...

Always old, sometimes new
Never sad, sometimes blue
Never empty, sometimes full
Never pushes, always pulls
What am I?
The Moon!

My Riddle:

"Pronouced as one letter,
And written with three,
Two letters there are,
And two only in me.
I'm double, I'm single,
I'm black, blue and gray,
I'm read from both ends
And the same either way."
Hmmm... is it an eye?
8 minutes...I am now ashamed.

Yes, it's an eye.

How about this?

"I am two-faced but bear only one,
I have no legs but travel widely.
Men spill much blood over me,
kings leave their imprint on me.
I have greatest power when given away,
yet lust for me keeps me locked away.
What am I?"

Very Good...how about this?

A captain was being executed for treason. He had the opportunity to make a last statement. If his statement was true then he would be hung. If it was false then he would be shot. He made a statement and was released...

What did he say?

He said: "I'm dead"

Here's a riddle: What is is that you will break every time you name it?

Sorry. That would be a lie still, and he'd still be executed.

And is yours silence?
Yeah. Oh by the way, I looked up the answer to yours, but I won't say the answer until more people have tried.

Here is a riddle I was told as a child, but it is metaphorical, so it might be a bit hard . I find it a bit corny but meh:

There is this "land", the "inhabitants" of the land are black "people", the "grass" is very green, and the "sky" is red. The "people" are floating, stuck up in the "sky".

What is this "land"?

Is the answer a watermelon? If so, my mom gets the credit...

I know Ozy's 'cuz she's my sister, so I'll post this one until someone else figure's hers out:

"By Moon or by Sun, I shall be found. Yet I am undone, if there's no light around."

Pretty easy...
The 17x10^23th time an incarnation of that particular riddle has been said Ozy. The Captain says that he will be shot.

And yours is shadow, Darksbane.
Correct.

My next:
"Two legs it has, and this will confound: only at rest do they touch the ground!"
