Ezekiel
We're doing euthanasia in RE now, and one of the tasks we were set was to write a poem on euthanasia. I actually didn't think I would be able to, but hey! I managed to get a few 'aaws' from my class, hurrah! Hopeful eyes searching For some light in my own The fire once burning Left long, long ago A hand reaches out To grasp at my fingers I suffer a smile As her sad kiss lingers Once I was strong Could depend on myself Now my soul is far-gone Doctors, please, give me help
Retribution
Wow. I liked that alot. The whole poem revolves around the whole theme of a person not being able to perform the actions they did once before. The last line ties it all together, and makes this topic change from a poem about a person about to die, to a person about to be euthanized. I'm not sure if they want to be, but I think the person does. The only thing I didn't like was the second stanza. It flowed very well, but it felt a little distant and obscure to the rest of the poem. Maybe you wanted it that way.
Ezekiel
I can see your point with your comment on the second stanza, I guess it's because I tried to include the other person, maybe it seems like I've changed characters. Not sure how I would fix that =/ so I'll have to keep it that way. The person is supposed to want to be alive, but not suffer through the pain...so, yeah, awful descision for one to make. Thanks for the comment, I appreciate it. ^_^
