Panda
The Loch Ness Monster, Big Foot, Chupacabra, ghosts and even Elvis sightings- are they really out there or are just the creation of overactive imaginations? We have watched countless movies and documentaries on the subject of these mythical creatures and visions. We see true believers who are convinced 100% of the existence of those unknown entities. On the other side we see the skeptics who believe they are all tricks and want scientific proof of the existence of those same creatures. Are you a skeptic or do you believe these things really do exist. Where on the scale of belief / disbelief do you fall? I find myself to be a bit more on the skeptical side. I find all the tales of aliens, creatures and ghosts to be quite interesting. I don't want to say that they don't exist (except for Elvis, but I will get to that in a bit.) since our world, as well as our universe, is too big and unexplored to say nothing is out there. My take on aliens and mythical creatures is that if we don't even understand our own planet and the inhabitants there is no way we can be 100% sure there is no other intelligent life out there. For example the Coelacanth. We thought that it had gone extinct yet a live one appeared one day back in 1930's! If we can't even figure out what is alive on our own planet how can we know what is out in the vast universe? I think there are a lot of hoaxes out there to help carry on the legend of things like Bigfoot and the Lock Ness Monster. After all they bring in so much revenue for the people in the areas of sightings someone is bound to want to keep the legend alive. Just because there are hoaxes I don't think I can rule out their existence without a second thought. Elvis and other dead celebrity sightings. I think that it is just wishful thinking. Fans who would like their favorite celebrity to still be alive and well. Heck, Elvis lives in my hometown. His car license plate says "Elvis 1" so it must be him. Sideburns, big shades, heavy set...he looks exactly like the King! So, what do you believe? Are they out there or are there just too many wild imaginations? kaisha
Personally, I am a firm believer in The Loch Ness Monster and Ghosts (Or Spirits whatever), laugh if you must. But when it comes to things like dead celebrities, Big Foot, and Chupacabra, I must I am a skeptic. I mean their just such unbelievable stories, to me anyway but I know people who really believe in things like that, and they scare me a little. James
I would tend to seperate aliens and mythical creatures. Mythical creatures are often based on legend and (of course) mythology. And those two things are human inventions. So, I would tend to have a healthy skepticism about such things. But aliens are different. Do I believe the famers who claim to have been probed by aliens? Not really. But do I feel that there is a possibility of actual intelligent life other than our own? Yep, I do. I think there's a massive chance of it. The fact that we exist ourselves (and that there are other bodies in space with similar properties to Earth) leads me to feel that there's probably a good chance of something being out there. However, this doesn't mean that there is, or that they have visited Earth. There are some seperate questions there, in my mind. In terms of sightings...eh. I don't think any of them are true, but they're kind of silly/fun (unless you obsess about them of course). Overall, although I am skeptical about some things...I like that there is a sense of magic in the world. It's nice to imagine some of these things and to forget your skepticism now and then (ie: children and Santa Claus).
Billy Shears
I think there are ghosts/ shadows. I've seen shadows and been in places where thing literally fly 10-15 ft. off of shelves. So awesome. Loch Ness, aliens, and Big Foot I have to see to believe. And I dunno what Chupacopacabanachips or whatever it's called is. -the one and only
Panda
And I dunno what Chupacopacabanachips or whatever it's called is.[/SIZE']
From the Skeptic's Dictionary: The chupacabra ("goat sucker") is an animal said to be unknown to science and systemically killing animals in places like Puerto Rico and Mexico. The creature's name originated with the discovery of some dead goats in Puerto Rico with puncture wounds in their necks and their blood allegedly drained. According to UFO Magazine (March/April 1996) there have been more than 2,000 reported cases of animal mutilations in Puerto Rico in the last two years attributed to the chupacabra. In otherwords it's like a nasty little vampire bat like animal. Some say it looks kinda like this fellow: He's got mad moves!
Baron Samedi
I think you also have to delineate between what is possible, and what seems plain unlikely. Big Foot is a possibility, for sure. I mean, big hairy animals that resemble humans isn't exactly a far-fetched idea, is it? Loch Ness...well, you never know. They've conducted so many scans of that lake though... if there was something there at some time, it seems unlikely for it to be there now. Chupacabras...well, who knows. I suppose anything is possible, but I daresay there is a far more mundane explanation for the occurrence. Aliens: I always have believed that aliens must exist. It'd be an awful waste of space if there wasn't ~_^ And I think anybody who isn't prepared to accept the possibility of other forms of intelligent life in the universe is... well, stupid I'm afraid. Earth is quite literally, nothing. But do I think contact will ever be formed with another race? Well, not for a fair while anyway. The Universe is so large that the chance of meeting another space-faring [or even stay-at home :p] race is unlikely. But I definitely think that aliens exist. Ghosts: There ae a lot of documented cases of weird happenings. I can keep an open mind. And I think thats the key to a lot of things. Having an open mind.
2010DigitalBoy
I do not think that the Loch-Ness monster exists. Wouldn't they have done something about that? As for El Chapacabra, either it exists or there are some sick fake freaks out there. Bigfoot? Only if there is more than one. Thats the only way it would make sense. I have always believed in aliens and ghosts. I believe in ghosts because some VERY creepy things happen to me sometimes. I believe in aliens because with all those googles of planets, there has to be some life, even if its only a plant.
Guest Alchemist
Well when you look at it scientifically Loch ness is easily just a dinosaur breed that survied the comet hitting earth. There could be sea monsters living in the deep ocean. We have barely even map half the ocean floor. As for Bigfoot yes also because it just a breed of Yette. Ghost i am a bit skeptic. Chulbadracabra(not spelled right i know) could be an alien abandoned on earth. Well that is my theory.
Baron Samedi
Yetti's aren't actually a species Sephiroth. It is just another name for Bigfoot :p
2010DigitalBoy
Actually the Yetti is an abomidable snowman believed to exist in the Himalayas. Bigfoot is supposed to be in Canada or something.

elfpirate
I don't know about bigfoot, nessie, or el chupacabra, but I have had many experiences with spirits and shadow people... and I'm positive that it's not just my imagination, because on many of those occasions, I wasn't alone... and I asked the person (or people) that I was with to describe what they had seen... and they had seen the exact same thing that I had... I've had very real experiences with both spirits and shadow people since I was a small child...but I couldn't explain why they happen... or even what they really are...I couldn't explain any of it to save my life...I just know that what I'm experiencing is real... Guest Silver Fang
I am a skeptic, I find it rather hard to believe in any of those things
The Vampire: Ed
I am skeptical about a lot of things. Big foot, the lockness monster, etc. I am not to sure about. But things like ghosts, spirits from beyond, etc. I do fully believe in and have had some experience with such. Some people think I'm crazy, some think I make it up, but I know what I saw and heard. That's all I need as proof to myself.
PWNED
I'm not a big beliver in the supernatural because I find that since Apparently Ghosts and Spirits are vengeful spirits like they are depicted in a lot of things then would'nt there be a few deaths or someone suffering deep shock? I do however believe in Extraterrestrials because the universe is massive and we do not know about what is out there. I share these same beliefs about the Yeti, Kraken, and Loch Ness because there is evidence (Although maybe it is false) that they existed and I find these types of things fascinating. This Chupacabra monster is also rather interesting sounding although It is probarbly like a cult of sickos that are doing it.
Heero Darkangel
Well am I skeptical or do I believe?????......hmmm.....well i don't really know about bigfoot, nessie and all that but I've had my fair share of strange occurrences with the Kehua kind (Kehua means spirit)....I mean there's been quite a few nights where I've awoke to someone touching my forehead and when i sit up and look around....there's noone there...although it could be my imagination but...surely imagination doesn't feel cold?. There was also a couple of times where someones called out to me and I'd answer...but noone replies..that too could just be my imagination but then again...does your imagination bang on the wall in the other bedroom when there's noone else home but you?? I could go on but..I guess you get the picture. All thses things don't bother me though, most of the time I egnore it...I quite use to it...lol
