Angelus_Necare
If you want to hear the song Bane was singing, Click here And no more major changes without my permission first thanks. Carmen glared down the stairway after Bane, clenching her fists angrily, "That Idiot!" She hissed before throwing herself into one of the pilot chairs. The rest of the crew stood quietly, not quite sure if anything could be said in the situation. The Hellish red surface of Mars gleamed beneith them in the morning sun. Its brilliance growing smaller as the old finshing boat puttered away from the planet to a new destination. The ship as a whole seemed a lot more at ease in less gravity and less likely to fall apart. Carmen felt a bit light herself as the gravity stableizers probably weren't replaced before the ship was sold. Jakob walked forward to gaze out at the space before them quirking an eyebrow in silent though, "Where did Bane say Boris was? Abaddon?" "Yeah," Carmen answered pulling a ciggarete from the carton and placing it behind her ear for later use, "Why you been there before?" Jakob shook his head, "Nobody's been there for a while, the colony was destroyed a few years back." "Then why would Bane tell us to go to a place like that?" Jame asked crossing his arms and taking a seat in the other pilot chair. "He probably thinks it's still there," Jakob turned again to look out the window, "He has been isolated in prison for a while now, there'd be no way he could know." "Well there goes our only lead..." Carmen moaned slouching low in the chair, "Any other ideas?" "I heard the residents that survived the crash were transported to the colonies near Venus as refugees." Natalie added, "I think the Sunev Collony might be a good place to start.." Carmen nodded, reaching over to the controll pannel to tap in the new instructions for the ship to take. The new destination Sunev. "Now," Carmen began glancing at Jayme, "How about some breakfast?"
Raiyuu
Well, we're airborne a bit earlier than expected, Jakob ckuckled to himself. How hard could this possibly be? We were all accepted for this project, so we must have what it takes. And the guy's six foot eight, for goodness' sakes. He'll stick out like a sore thumb. Satisfied that the ship was heading in the right direction and that the control panel wasn't just on the blink like the rest of the Bebop, Jakob headed downstairs. Richard was standing in the lounge, his head on one side as if listening. The ship's turning. We're changing course. Why? "The Abbadon drifter colony isn't there any more. Hasn't been for five, six years. Solar flare, they said on the news, but the papers reckoned it was a bomb or something ... all the survivors are in the Sunev colony, Venus orbit. We're headed there." I see. Jakob left Bane to brood. He glanced into the galley, where Jayme was preparing breakfast; he didn't dare go in to offer a hand. It looked like it might be a dull trip. But then, nobody except Bane seemed properly awake yet. Jakob went off to further explore the ship's deeper recesses.
Domon
Jayme grinned as he stood up from the chair he'd momentarily occupied and saluted smartly. "Aye, aye cap'n, anything else I can get ye?" Jayme said as he mocked an old sailor he'd once met while getting some fish at the market. Carmen blandly stared at him and he took that as his cue to leave the bridge. Jayme decided that he shouldn't waste the eggs at the moment because who knew when they'd need them. Instead he had chopped up and grated two potatoes into hash browns and was cooking some bacon instead, the smell unfortunately attracted some unwanted guests. The first guest had been Bane, he came down the steps and looked in the galley like a kid whose mother was making cookies and Jayme shot a glare at him that basically said to get out. The second guest was Jakob and he was about as curious as Bane so a look did it for him. The third guest was Natalie who needed to be yelled at to get out. Finally Carmen came in and Jayme could practically see the drool coming off her mouth, clenching his teeth he had asked Carmen to leave but she refused to and that's when things got heated. "Get out of my kitchen!!" "You're kitchen?! Just who the hell do you think you are!?" "I'm the only thing keeping you guys from eating off of dirty plates and other things!!" "What in the same hell is that supposed to mean you jackass?!" "It means get out of my kitchen or I'm putting a cycling combination lock on the fridge!!" At this the rest flinched and they heard Carmen storming up the stairs with a flustered look on her face as she slumped down onto one of the couches with a defeated look on her face. A few minutes later Jayme came up with two plates and placed them on the table and stalked back down for three more and then disappeared and reappeared with the silverware. When everyone was finished Jayme picked up the plates and walked back down to his domain and shut the door.
Lilt
OOC: Sorry about my absence, everyone. Awesome song, by the way, Rose. Natalie leaned back in her chair at the table. Breakfast had been better than she had expected it to be, but then again, Jayme wasn't that bad of a cook. She watched as he got up from the table, and started grabbing the plates. She started to get up, but he motioned to her that he would take care of it. Natalie put her feet up on the empty table, and leaned back in her chair a little bit more. She closed her eyes and started singing the song that she had heard Bane singing along to. and I've never licked a spark-plug and I've never sniffed a stink bug and I've never painted Daisies on a big red rubber ball and I've never bathed in yogurt and I don't look good in leggings Natalie stopped singing as soon as she started. Getting an idea, she ran off to the bedroom that she shared with Carmen. In the room, she grabbed a black, torn up trunk, and opened it. Inside, was something that was as much a part of her as her hands, or eyes were. Her Saxophone. To kill some time, she walked out to the lounge area, and started to play the old song that was on the radio. She hoped that Bane wasn't a hater of music. But judging by his opera imitation, he wasn't. Besides, they say that music soothes the savage beast. Or something like that...
Kairi
Bane could taste the smell of Jayme's cooking the air of the ship...he was again, just strolling the ships corridors like he usually did. They had changed course due to his error...as much as it hurt his pride, he was dissapointed in himself. Three years in the slam...and no one told me... he thought to himself as he leaned up against the wall with his arms crossed. I better not go into the kitchen again...or that knife is gonna look real friendly if he keeps acting up... Bane had friends on the Anubis colony...he was in no caring mood. Echoing through the hallways, Richard caught the faint sound of a Saxophone being played from the lounge area. Shrugging off his emotional loss of the Anubis colony, and the way he was treated...he calmly made his way back to find Natalie playing on her Saxophone; playing to the tone earlier on the radio. He liked the old kinds of music...this particular song he used to play when he was only a child. Leaning against the side of the entrance way...Richard began to clap, which startled Natalie who was sitting on the couch, not knowing that he was there watching her. Very good Natalie...very good. ''Um...thank you.'' Natalie answered...calming down slightly. It was the first time that Bane had addressed her ever since walking by her and Carmen earlier... Do you like the song...? as Bane took a seat across from her. ''Yes...very much. I remember you singing it before...and I just felt like playing.'' The Saxophone is a wonderful instrument...you played beautifully. ''Thank you Richard'' did he just compliment me? ''do you play at all...'' I used to play the fiddle actually...and the drums. But unfortunately I don't have anything like that with me. ''Sorry to hear that...be...*she stuttered...not knowing if she should continue the question*...because you were in prison.'' Yes............if you don't mind, can you keep on playing...but something slower, something more soothing and relaxing. ''Of course...'' as she thought for a moment...and began to play. With the music playing in the background...and the smell coming from the kitchen, Bane felt at peace, drifting further into a deep relaxing point, leaning his head back against his folder arms in back of his neck. Not fallling asleep...but simply resting his eyes. Now this....is peace and freedom.
Raiyuu
Jakob reclined, satisfied, on the couch. Whatever his differences with Jayme, the man was an excellent chef. The crew certainly wouldn't go hungry on this trip, unless of course they annoyed Jayme somehow. Jakob was a fast learner. He didn't even think about offering to help Jayme in the kitchen. He just lay back on the sofa and closed his eyes. It was going to take a couple of hours to reach the Sunev colony; what better way to spend the time than by catching another few winks of sleep? ~~~~~~~~~~~~ A soft strain of jazz, reminiscent of the ambient muzak playing on constant loop at the Deimos casino where he used to earn his rent, gently lifted him out of his doze. He sat up and rubbed the sleep from his eyes. Natalie was perched on the edge of the other sofa, eyes closed as she teased pentatonics into the smooth, free-flowing, easy-going patterns of soft jazz. Richard Bane was leaning in the doorway watching her, but his eyes were slightly glazed, as if the music had transported him elsewhere. He seemed different somehow... I can read him. It was like all the layers had been stripped off Bane. The whole hard-man ex-con exterior had evaporated as he abandoned himself to the music, and what was left was the real him, the core at the centre of those purple eyes. And what Jakob saw, in that core, was loss. Loss of three years of his life. Loss of friends on the Anubis colony. Loss, bit by bit as the harsh prison life chipped it away, of his humanity. And a deep longing for things to be otherwise. Jakob suddenly didn't feel afraid of the bald man anymore. He could see that regret inside him, and saw that he wouldn't jeopardise this second chance he'd been offered at life by harming his new comrades. The lick Natalie was playing died away, and she opened her eyes, looking as refreshed by playing as if she'd just stepped under an icy shower. She noticed that Jakob was awake. "Nice of you to join us," she said, grinning. "That was amazing," he replied. "How long was I out for? Are we there?"
Lilt
Natalie stood up, and held her beloved saxophone to her side. Brushing a few strands of hair out of her face, she smiled at him. "I don't know how long you were out. I didn't even know you had gone to sleep. And I was just about to go find out if we were there yet." She answered. Natalie started walking out of the room, towards the cockpit, and looked back at Bane and Jakob. "Are you guys coming?" She asked. But before either of them could answer, the ship shook violently. Natalie fell to the ground, but Jakob and Bane managed to keep their footing. Jakob ran over to her, and helped her to her feet. She thanked him, and asked him what he thought had happened. He told her that he didn't know, and they all made their way to the cockpit, but this time with a bit more determination. Natalie wondered what could have made the ship shake like that. At first, her mind grabbed the craziest possibility and made her think that they might be under attack. But when she thought about it, it wasn't likely that someone would attack them. Natalie didn't hear any alarms going off, anyways. But then again...this ship was pretty old, and its alarms might have long been broken down. (If they were even there in the first place.) And maybe someone was attacking because they had something against this ship? Natalie cleared her head of those thoughts, and continued following Jakob and Bane to the cockpit. It was probably just a collision with some debris, anyways. Natalie would've asked Bane what he thought, but she was a little afraid of what answer he would give her. OOC: Sorry again, Rose. I'm just trying to get the story moving. This doesn't have to be an attack or anything, it could be a collision with a wrecked ship, or engine problems, or something.
