The best soda there is

Hey guys! Hey Panda, I never had that before. Is it good? I hope it's not to sugary though. As for me, I likes good old A&W Root Beer. It is bold, thick, and brewed to perfection. I'm old enough to drink alcholol, but I don't touch the stuff. But I still have a drinking song! It's two songs by the Dropkick Murphy's I like. "Finnagen's Wake", and "Irish Drinking Song." Fun songs. Great to drink to. See ya later.

That would be the one. Sometimes when opening the Ramune bottle it will fizz up and make a huge mess. It's like opening a can of soda that someone was shaking. That is probably what she was trying to warn you about.

One time when i opened my bottle, I was holding the cap piece loosely and the fizz pressure shot the cap straight into my eye. I was the first and only casualty of Katsucon 2003 due to ramunei soda
The worst pop ever would have to be that pink 7up. Terrible, terrible thing.
I disagree. I tried Mountain Dew "Baja blast" at Taco Bell a month ago, and I couldn't finish it. It was disgusting. Their "Pitch Black" stuff is pretty awful as well. I like Code Red (I got promotional lip gloss and free samples when it came out, heh), though.

heads up, seven up!

I think Pitch Black was okay. All it really was was grape soda. I don't drink it regularly, but it's a nice occasional treat.

As for worst soda, I nominate Diet Pepsi. Pepsi itself isn't all that great, but sweeten it artificially...no. It tastes worse than manufactured mineral water. And that's like drinking rocks.

I have to admit that I'm a bit mundane, for me the best soda is just a nice cold bottle of Coke, yes see how mundane I am. Honestly though there are really only a few sodas that I drink often enough or like to say they're "the best", Fanta and 7-Up are pretty good too depending on what you're eating.

But for sheer drinkablility [If that's even a word...] Coca Cola just has to take the crown for me, interestingly enough the jolly, fat, red Santa image we associate with the Turkish saint is due to Coca Cola.

Well, I went to United Noodle today, and saw Ramune there. So I thought, sure, why not? I bought some. And while it's far from being my favorite soda ever (I got the Lynchee (Lychee?) flavor and it's...different. Also, I guess I don't like fruit-flavored sodas as much in general), all I really have to say is:

OMG COOLEST BOTTLE EVER!!!!!!11!!!!2

...ahem. Thank you.

And Morpheus: It's bad grape soda!

doin' the dew,

Well I am happy you got some Ramune Sara! It's not my favorite soda ever but the bottle has got to be one of the coolest ever. It's gotta be the marble.

Now I have a question. Has anyone had this soda, pop, soda pop, soft drink or carbonated beverage? (Everyone calls it something different, so I thought I would cover my bases.)

Nothing says refreshment like a Panda!

I was wondering if anyone has seen this drink? Or better yet actually enjoyed this beverage? How good does a Panda taste?

*finishes chewing the mouthful*
"Oh! Very good. I like mine medium rare. And it almost tastes like chicken."

But really, I have no idea. My favorite sodas are:

- Any kind of Rootbeer, as long as it's good.
- Vanilla Coke
- Original Coke
- Orangina (I haven't had this for a while)

I loved Cherry Coke back in the day, but then Coca-Cola stopped making it for some reason. It's colors broke from the red-and-white, as it was purple and black.

Then it made a comeback recently, but Vanilla has taken it's spot in my heart. But we all know that Rootbeer is God of all Sodas(Pops, Soda Pops, whatever you wanna call it) .

Has anyone heard of Hansen's natural soda? Honestly, this stuff ROCKS. It tastes heavenly. I avoid general sodas as much as possible, with all the sugar and artificial boolsheet.

They even have colas without the phosphoric acid, and it tastes good, too. Cherry vanilla creme IS the best flavor ever. I have a bunch in the fridge as I type. XD Whoohoo!

My leg!! Oh the horror!! Now really, has anyone ever seen this beverage in the stores? I stumbled across Panda Soda one day, the image that is, but I have no info about whether they still make it or where it is even from. Any info I would love to have. I must try this soda!!
Has anyone heard of Hansen's natural soda?
Why yes, I have heard of this all natural soda. One of my friends is really into going to buy food at the co-op and living all natural. I saw it there while shopping with her. I remember thinking that the flavors sounded interesting. A nice change from all the heavy sugar generic sodas out there. I should have bought a few to try out. Maybe I will next time I go to the co-op.

Now tonight I tried the new Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper. I have to say that if you really like Dr. Pepper and cherry flavor you will enjoy it. I can't taste any vanilla flavor at all. It starts out with a strong Dr. Pepper flavor and leaves you with the cherry after taste. It is very sweet tasting. I am drinking this as my dessert. To me it is a sipping drink. It does not taste like a diet soda since it doesn't have that nasty after taste and is very sweet. I like it. I give it a thumbs up!

(It was so fun--I felt healty and eclectic just being in there!) They have a ton of awesome (and often weird, but I like weird) things there. I'll have to go check out the soda possibilities, heh.

well, can I hum?

My favorite soda is Livewire. I drink this on a daily basis...I think I have an addiction :)

The natural soda wasn't really that great...there are a few co-op stores in my town (there's 2 on the main road thru our town). I like the soda in glass bottles, Stewart's, the old-school Coke bottles, so thats why I bought it. But, it wasn't really that great. Probably because I drink Livewire every day and that stuff is pretty sweet.

And we say "pop" in Illinois, but to me, soda sounds better in print.
And we say "pop" in Illinois, but to me, soda sounds better in print.[/SIZE']
I've always called it "soda," but since moving slightly norwest to Minnesota, I've found that there is a very vocal anti-soda movement here. People have "It's Pop, not Soda!" clubs (of course, there are "Soda, not Pop!" clubs formed in opposition to these.) The whole thing is just really cool to me, but I'm not going to get into the other dialectal differences here, heh.

For the interested, though, here's a fun little U.S. map of the commonly used terms for carbonated beverages: Pop. vs. Soda (dot com)

just for the taste of it,

Hmm, I originally wasn't a pop drinker at all. It was milk for me. XP But I tried all kinds of pop, and hated them all with a fiery passion, except Mountain Dew. (Sierra Mist is good on occasion too. Yes, it will make you squeal in a kilt.) Every other caffeinated drink was... really painful to the back of the throat; not good for excessive chugging, or sipping. But, the good ol' Dew... only drink that backed off on the carbonation and supplies a sugar rush. I don't know how others like Pepsi or Cola, (or tell the difference.) because of the carbonation, but the Dew probably DOES have the most caffeine in it, hence the sugar rush, hence my liking it. I tell you, it's obsession.... I could use a nice one right now...

Hey guys, I'm new to OB. El Kazuko introduced it to me and I have read through it a bit but I finally got around to signing up. I know him IRL and bug test PGTNCA for him . . . when I feel like it. :D

Anyway, onto the topic, soda. Hmmmm, my favorite is Pepsi but other that I like include: Sprite, Sierra Mist, Cherry Cola, Mountain Dew, and Cherry Cola. Cherry Cola comes in a close second to Pepsi, I love them both sooo much. I haven't heard of many of those other drinks you guys speak of, I'd like to try em they sound good :)

Ozy reminded me of a story dealing with Fresca. My hubby got carded (asked for ID) when buying Fresca once. He put a 6 pack on the counter and the clerk asked for picture ID. He just looked at the guy and said "Why?". The clerk said I am not going to sell you anything til I see your ID. The next guy in line said. "It's Fresca." The clerk then looked again and said that he thought it was Busch beer.

I do have another question for everyone. Has anyone tried that Turkey and Gravy flavored Jones Soda Company soda? They only make it during the Thanksgiving holiday and it always sells out. It just sounds gross to me but I would like to know if anyone has tried it!

I am still looking for that Panda soda too...anyone tried that?

:( Oh my..that's so wrong, haha. *shudder*

Anyway, my favorite soda is Coca-Cola; particularly, Cherry Coke. Why? Coca-Cola just has a better taste. It's not too sweet (like Pepsi), and it doesn't go flat quickly (like Dr. Pepper). Mt. Dew and Sprite are good to have every once in a while. But I'm going to stick with Coca-Cola, just a refreshing soda.

Ya' know, I was chosen to take part in a market research campaign for potential beverages to be released out onto the market. Some of them were lovely, others were just nasty. Probably because I don't like coffee.

There was this one called 'Fizzimo', and it was basically what we call an 'Ice Cream Float' in a can. Soda and icecream = Gorgeousness.

None of them were ever bloody released.

At the moment I'm addicted to Dr. Pepper when needed, I just find CocaCola and Pepsi too common.

I'm a Coke addict. Pepsi is okay, but it's more...varnish-like than Coke. I don't think I've ever tasted a cola quite like Coke -- it's smooth and it has a unique taste that is unrivalled by pretty much everything.

*smiles for the camera*

Ahem. But yeah, Coke is my religion. There's nothing mundane about it; it's the pure classic, that classic men such as myself can enjoy.

o_O

Anyway. Other than Coke, I don't mind Pepsi -- it's okay, it's just like cheap Coke. So it's a good alternative. But aside from that, there really isn't much other soda that interests me. I used to love Passiona (I have no idea if it's over there in America), but I'm not so interested in it anymore. These days it's usually water, Coke, orange juice or milk.

Coke is absolutely gorgeous when you're really needing a drink, and you sip some out of a cold, classic, glass bottle.

I'm ill at the moment, and I'm really craving some fizzy drinks, but there's none in the house. I reckon soda will make me feel worse though.

Yup. If you are feeling sick, water is probably your best bet.

But yeah, Coke Hit = Orgasm. That first sip of Coca-Cola sends a shiver down my spine to my toes and back up to my brain. It's (almost) better than sex.

We call them spiders in Australia... or at least Queensland, lol. There's some pretty annoying small differences between language in Australian states, haha.

A product like that has been released in Australia though, by Fanta who I think are an offshoot of Coca Cola, lol. Chocolate icecream and orange fizzy stuffs is nice, heh. On the ads some guy is just innocently drinking Fanta and an icecream catapault launches a huge scoop at him. It's amusing, lol.

However, that said, plain coke and vanilla icecream would've been more L337.
