RPG Darkness Falls: The Fall of Man [M-VSL]

Lee was on the floor, and then he woke up as some soldiers ran through the doors. He got to his feet, and wiped the vomit from his mouth. He went inside and got a drink of water to take the taste away. Then he sat on his bed.

Had M really gone through all that? Had he seen his mother burn to death? Had he seen the amputation of his own arm? How could he have kept sane through all that? Lee knew he would have gone nuts with all that going on.

He lay down and tried to sleep. He slept soundly, as M had taken all the images out of his mind. He felt good, despite what had happened.

The next morning he woke up and looked in the mirror. His eyes were bloodshot and his nose had been bleeding in the night. There was a trail of dried blood running from his nose to his lip, which he washed off, and he splashed water on his face, waking himself up. He walked out into the kitchen, and ate breakfast alone, before getting dressed and ready to go.

He was on the jet as Carl got on, and he nodded to him. They sat down, and waited in silence. The others gradually got on the jet as well, and soon they were ready to go. As M got on the jet, Lee absorbed himself in the back of a seat, trying to avoid M's gaze. He wasn't ready to face him with what he had seen.

They took off, and flew for half an hour when M got up. He stood at the front of the jet, and said:

"I'm sorry for what happened last night, guys. I'm especially sorry to the doctor who died because of me, and also I'm especially sorry to Lee. I'm sorry that I made you go through that. I know you felt as though you owed me something, but I never wanted to burden you with those memories."

"Hey, it's ok, man, I've seen much worse things in my time!" said Lee.

"Good. Okay, I hope you're all ready, because we'll be landing in a couple of hours. Prepare yourselves for some serious observation!" he joked. They all laughed, and eveything was back to normal again.

Farel wasn't sure why but for some reason he felt that he should take a rocket launcher with him on this mission. He had it stowed away under his seat where it would be noticed. He also had a case containing six rockets. [I]Should be enough to take down anything we come across,[/I] He had though when he picked them up.

As he waited to arrive on the Asian coast he took a look around the jet. M and Andy were sitting at opposite ends of the plane. Strange only a day ago they had been so close. What had happened between them that after a day they would be further apart then when they first met. It seemed to confuse him. But his mind shouldn't be on that, it should be on the mission ahead. He began to collect his thoughts.

"We will be landing shortly," the pilots voice announced over the speaker.

OOC: short post. If you hadn't guessed the rockets are for the sandviper which Farel knows nothing about. Secondly in this mission I want Farel to either be infected by the virus or poisoned by the viper. Not enough to kill him but enough so as to send him in a coma and if you go for the virus please no cure. I just don't want this to pass by as I want to add some supernatural stuff that includes Farel and his fiance. After that he may reveal his past to the others. :devil:

OOC: Ok a couple things. One I?m sorry for that post that moved to fast. I just wanted a break from the story a bit. I had other things to do. Second thing I?m just going to say that entire incident with the lights and all happened while I was walking back to my room so that way nothing would be changed.

Taikaru woke up after the pilots announced they would be landing soon. ?That always means around an hour or more. I wouldn?t trust a pilot with the time.?
?Oh so your awake.? M said who was sitting right on the other side of her.
?When did you get back to this part of the plane? I remember coming in, and you were sitting somewhere up there.?
?Well does it really mean much if I move??
?To me it does. I mean a heart attack could have happened from your face.?
?Are you implying that you don?t want me back here??

?Well that is sad. I will sit here and only here.?
?Alright I?m done arguing. You are as stubborn as some familiar memory. I need to get my rest still and the pilot woke me up and now this. I don?t think I need much more of it.? Taikaru gazed her eyes around looking at her surrounding like a small puppy that doesn?t know where it is. Taikaru caught sight of a window. They were to high up to see anything. Nothing but clouds a few feet below them. Taikaru once again set her gaze upon the crew. Looking up and down the seats she saw something that was out of the ordinary. *Well that is odd. If I saw what I thought I saw yesterday then M should be up in the front. Why is he back here and what is with him looking like he killed someone that he cared for? Oh well it isn?t my problem. I figure the better I stay away from people?s past the better they will live. No one wants to bring up old memories. I should start thinking about the mission. What will I do?* Taikaru thought while observing. She finally saw something weird under Farel?s chair. It was long and looked metallic. It was green and a small handle. It was a bazooka. *Figures he would take something like that along. He will fire it with rapid fire if he gets separated from us by his own choice again. But it was nice of him to do something like that for me. I really wish I wouldn?t have gotten myself into that situation.* With out knowing it Taikaru was looking into Farel?s face.
?Is there something you want Taikaru?? In an instant she snapped back to reality.
?No it?s nothing.? Taikaru looked at her feet knowing there was a slight blush on her face. *Alright I guess the only thing right now I can do is mentally make a memo of what emotions that I hate.* Taikaru thought to herself for awhile about that. She got into a struggle about the disadvantages of love and the advantages.

***OVER THE COAST OF CHINA***

One of the pilots turned around in his chair and announced ?Now hovering over the coast of China. We are to land soon so be ready.? M was the first to get up and then came Andy, then Lee, Farel, Taikaru, Carl, and the rest.
M delivered a message to the team ?Alright this isn?t a mission of blowing things up. This is a mission to help the people in need. Try to save as many people as possible. This epidemic is sweeping all over. We don?t know what to expect so keep your guard up and those people safe from the virus.? Everyone got out on the coast.
?Uhhh?so where are we. There isn?t that many people here.? Lee asked.
?From the looks of things I would say that we are somewhere on the coast of South eastern China.? Taikaru said looking in every direction.
?That is the general area Taikaru but you must pinpoint the location.? Commander Red came in on the intercom.
?What Red are you here?? M said in surprise.
?No but I modified the toys you called earpieces. They extend for a long distance. It is long enough where I can here you even in the ground in New York.?
?Well would you tell me exactly where we are?? Taikaru was getting impatient with Red.
?Alright. You are in the South Eastern Rice fields. They are the suppliers of rice for 90% of the entire world. We are looking for survivors of the virus and even the start of it. From the looks of things the virus started to infect others in your general area. You all have a couple locations of where the virus is taking the most damage. You will be separated into teams. I made them from the last mission. M and Andy will go north.?
?Now hold on there just a second Red.? Both Andy and M blared into the intercom. ?I should be the one that chooses the teams.?
?Wrong M I am the one in command. Now as I was saying M and Andy will go north. Lee and Carl will go to the west. Finally the rest will go to the South. When you are done with everything on your mission you will rendezvous with the pick up in Hong Kong. That is south west of your area. Try to treat your buddies with respect now. Or you will all have to answer to me. Red out.?
?So much for happy beginnings.? Taikaru muttered.
?Well I say that we will have to work together first. Let?s set out as a team and survey the area.? M said with sternness in his voice.
?Wouldn?t that be defying orders from Red.? Taikaru said in not much of a surprised attitude.
?Yes it will I guess we can decide later if we want to break into those teams or not. I have a feeling Red just has destruction planned out for us.?
?Right well not too surprising. I?ll go with the group idea until M says to end it.? Taikaru said modestly.

OOC: Alright the main thing with the teams is Red wants to see how good each person?s teamwork is. Red also reviewed the reports extensively and decided upon the teams. Just in case the geography stumps you no one can go to the east unless they can make a boat. M wants to go with the whole team. It is up to KairiKIce2 if we break up. Heh. :)

Andy looked over the rice-paddies coldly. The fire Phoenix sat on her shoulder, looking at the group as they debated whether they were going to split up or not. Andy didn't care, although she hated Red for putting her with M. However, she knew it was going to eventuate.

" All right. Then we've decided. We'll split apart and meet back here in two days time," M said sternly. All of the others nodded and split apart in their respective groups. M and Andy walked towards the north, along a carriage beaten road. Neither of them spoke to each other. M looked at the paddy fields away from Andy, who was staring right ahead.

M was still recovering from the previous night when he lost control. Andy was a reason why, but he didn't want to infuriate her anymore than she already was. The Phoenix that was previously on Andy's shoulder now soared above the two silent walkers.

" Andy..." M said softly.
" What?!" she spat back, not looking at him.
" I don't need my powers to know that you're angry at me."
" How did you ever figure that one out I suppose?" Andy replied sarcastically. M's anger took him for a moment but instantly he calmed himself down. He never seen Andy like this before, and it wasn't comforting.
" You don't need to be rude..."
" I'm not..."
" Others may think otherwise."
" Others meaning you?"
" What is your problem?"
" Just you."
M grabbed her arm and spun her towards him. " I know what I've done....but..."
" But what? Too empathic to show any emotion at all M?" Andy pulled her arm from his grasp and kept walking.
" ANDY!" M called.
" Leave me alone M. I don't need you!" Andy swore at him.

But inside, Andy didn't want to be left alone. She had found someone to share affection with and yet he denied her what she knew they both wanted. Her heart was breaking and all she knew what to do was put all those barriers up once again. Swearing to herself that she will never let M inside again, Andy kept walking onwards, regardless of whether M was beside her or not.[/FONT][/COLOR]

OOC: seems weird that we have two groups of two and a group of four.

Farel trudged along slightly behind the rest of his group. He had the rocket Launcher slung over his shoulder and he was carrying the container of rockets under his arm. He was amazed that no one had mentioned it yet. Not even M who believed that this mission was just reconnaisance. Was there something that they knew about and he didn't? It wouldn't be the first time it had happened to the team or more specifically to him.

He also wasn't sure why Red had chosen people to be placed in these particular groupings. Well maybe it was good that M and Andy were together. Maybe the time alone would give them a chance to patch things up. He had known love, even if for a short time, and he believed everyone should have a chance at it.

As they headed south Ivy seemed to drop back slightly to chat with him.

"So what's with the rocket laucher?" She asked. He knew the question had been coming.

"I'm not sure," he responded, "but this morning I woke up with the feeling that we might need it. It's hard to explain but I didn't want to be caught in a position like we were last time."

"Fair enough. So most of us have revealed our stories to everyone else except you and Taikaru. What's your story?"

He wasn't surprised by the question. He knew that it would be coming and had worked out his own answer to side step the full truth.

"Well I had been working for the Mars Secret Service for the last few and I was beginning to get bored. There was no challenge, no excitement. I needed a change of atmosphere so when I heard about this I signed up. It was the Secret Service that infused me with my chameleon ability." It was all the information he was going to give. Eric and Ivy appeared to accept this.

"Your story is probably the most normal out of all of us," Eric said.

[I]Not as normal as you think,[/I] was the first thing that came to Farel's mind.

He looked to Taikaru to see if she had bought his story. He was unable to tell from the emotions she showed on her face. He hadn't quite worked her out yet. At least not to the extent of the other team members. She seemed very strange. He had caught her staring at him on the plane and was beginning to wonder what was with that.

Lee and Carl trudged through the long grass to the west of the island. They were both wondering why they had been paired up, but they were still going through it. There was an awkward silence for around half an hour, until Lee said:

"So how did you get moved to the Project then, Carl?"

"I don't like to talk about it," replied Carl, taking a drink from a water bottle, and then emptying the rest over his head.

"Hey, watch it!" shouted Lee, "We only have a limited amount of water, so don't waste it like that!"

"I'm not wasting it. I'm hot, so I'm cooling myself down. If I don't I could become dangerously dehydrated. I know about these things, junior. I was in the army."

"Don't call me junior! I'm basically the same age as you. And I don't care whether you've had army training, because I also know you were kicked out of the army a year after you joined, and you almost got court-marshalled. So that makes you an expert in all things military?"

Carl grabbed him by the scruff of the neck and hauled him up against a tree. His face was red with anger and he was shaking.

"Don't you ever talk about that! You do not have the right to talk about my past!" he shouted.

"I'm sorry, Carl. I didn't mean to offend!" said Lee shakily. This was a side of Carl he had never seen before. He had always seemed so shy, so personal, but now he was venting his anger so publicly.

Carl dropped Lee and carried on walking at an increased pace, and Lee struggled to keep the pace up. Now they had gone back to silence...

Taikaru was wondering why they had to ask. *It doesn?t take a fricken genius to figure out that Farel came from Mars. The time spent here is better than up there. Maybe I should tell at least him.* Taikaru looked to the ground and made a depressing sigh. She looked up again into the sky. *It would be nice to finally tell someone. I can only trust someone who won?t blab under pressure. I know Farel has talked a lot. Well I could and not be cold. I could finally do some good for myself. Or I could end up like the little just-because-he-helped-me-from-being-angry-and-walled lover. I shall not take chances for this. Until I know that he can be trusted with this then I won?t tell him.* ?That will be good.? She muttered.
?Did you say something Taikaru?? Ivy asked.
?No I just was letting a big sigh out. Hey Ivy could you look at the map and tell us where the hell we are??
?Well let?s see. Uhh?seems we are headed to Hong Kong but we will be in the swamp area beside it.?
?A swamp area eh.? *The perfect spot for them sand viper?s. They may like to stay in sand but those swamps are like a weekend spa and served dinner to them. Wait a minute. If I remember my geography correctly the only place around here where there isn?t any swamp is Hong Kong itself. That Red trying to kill us. I better tell the others about the snakes other wise we will all die.* ?Hey you guys.?
?Well Taikaru finally back to reality I see.? Farel said with a small grin on his face.
?Shut up Farel. I need to say.? A voice called out and Taikaru stopped.
?Well.? Ivy said in annoyance.
?Shhhhh. Don?t you hear that??
?Hear what.? Said Farel.
Help help A voice came from up further.
?Ok I herd it.? Eric said with everyone a little surprised to finally hear his voice. A little girl came running to them.
?Misters and misses. My father and my entire village is sick please help us.?
?Well this really isn?t the case where I need a bazooka.?
?Exactly Farel. Now just wait here. It is ok little one.? Taikaru took out a radio from her pocket. ?This is Taikaru to Falcon. We need a village?s worth of water on the coordinates of 92 degrees Longitude and 153 degrees Latitude.? A jet sounded above them and there were crates coming down. ?They forgot to put on parachutes for these things.?
?Well that poses a problem. How is the water going to get down safely?? Ivy asked.
?Well all I know is that none of us can stop it.? Farel said looking up.
?Really Farel you give up to easily.? Taikaru said. She took a deep breath and put her hands to the ground slowly. ?I will make a safe bungee landing. If the crates don?t make it then I failed my powers.?
?Woa woa woa hold on. This is your power. Making little black bungee things.? Farel asked trying to be demeaning to her power.
?No Farel I could also slit your throat with a knife made of my energy. If I were you I would try running with the girl while I get the crates. Little girl how far away is your village??
?Yes it is down that road for awhile.?
?My speed should be enough just go with her.? The rest went and after they went over the horizon the crates were safe on the ground. ?Alright.? Taikaru once again made something. This time it turned out to be a car with a wheeled platform attached. Taikaru put the crates on the platform and started the car. The screeching of the wheels made it sound so real.

?Where is Taikaru she should be here soon??
?Well I would say that walk to about a couple hours.? Eric said on a bench.
?This village sure looks to be better than what I expected.? Ivy said in a happier tone.
?What do you mean it is sick with people.? Farel said. Soon the sound of a motor came. ?Who would have a car out here? Wait a minute could it be Taikaru?? Taikaru in her car came over the hill and landed with a screech in the main square of the village.
?Hey I think that I won?t get a license when we go back.? She said when getting out of the car. ?I would be to destructive.? The car disappeared and Taikaru sat down. ?My power can really take it out of me.?
?Well at least you got the water here.? Ivy said trying once again to cheer things up.
?Well Ivy you and I got some training to do when we get back.? Taikaru took a breather for awhile and then looked up to Farel. ?Farel would you mind if we could talk alone??
?Uhh?sure Taikaru.? Taikaru got up and went over to the bench. ?You guys uhh?oh yes take the anti dote to all of the people here. We should find our first discovery to curing the virus.?
?Hey Farel. I wanted to say this to someone but I couldn?t find the right person. Now I will just say it and not go into any details.?
?You lost me.?
?Well you?ve been in the Mars research centers haven?t you??
?Yes. I was there for a couple years.?
?Did you have clearance to high security Northern Mars Alpha division??
?Now that I think about it I only looked into the Eastern and southern mars stations. But why do you ask??
?I was in that place. I was a survivor of my own power. You saw me when I came. That car just disappeared. It was only a twenty minute drive. I couldn?t control my power when I was a child though.?
?One question before you go on. Why are you telling me this??
?As I said before you are the only one I can trust with this information. Now I fell into a coma from my power. I wish not to do it again. But little tiny things from my past come back bit by bit. I also feel like someone other than who I?m dreaming with is watching me.?
?Sounds like you are paranoid.?
?No I feel a presence. A stalker feeling. Like someone is watching me even if I don?t notice them.?
?Well I will believe you.?
?Now don?t include this at all in your report. I shall remind you I didn?t include the part in the last mission where I was captured and you volunteered to save me. Now don?t include this.?

"I've never heard of them getting earthquakes like this around here." Farel said.

"I don't think that this is your ordinary earthquake," She suddenly replied.

"Then what could be causing this?" He asked getting a bit worried.

"A sandviper," was the quiet response.

At that precise moment the ground began to crack open in front of them. A giant viper began to appear from the hole that was forming.

"Contact the others," Farel said taking the initiative. " I'll get the rocket launcher ready.

As Taikaru contacted the others Farel unslung the weapon from his shoulder and opened the box of ammunition. He opened the hatch at the bottom of the launcher and inserted a rocket. The creature reared it's head up.

"See if you can distract it while I take a shot." Farel told Taikaru.

She just nodded and started to move around the beast. It instantly noticed her and seemed to be summing up how to attack her. Farel took this chance to fire upon the creature. The rocket flew true and hit the creature in the head. It only seemed to phase the creature. There was no definite damage done.

"Shit," Farel swore as the creature began to turn on him.

Taikaru was still moving and the creature seemed unsure of who to attack. At that moment Farel's power spontaneously kicked in and he disappeared. The Viper was momentarily confused but quickly turned it's attention to Taikaru. It reared it's head as to attack. Farel was quick on the move making it his objective to get to her quick.

"Taikaru look out!" He called.

She looked towards where he called from and noticed the Viper as it began its attack. Farel dived moments before the creature struck. It was enough to push Taikaru out of the way but not for him to escape. Taikaru flew out of the way of the Viper from the force of Farel's push and watched as the creature came down on him. The viper struck Farel and he felt the poison entering his body. He began to feel his life flowing out of his body.

The last thing he heard was Taikaru calling, "Farel!"

OOC: If that isn't interesting I don't know what is. Anyway as I said in an earlier post I'm not killing Farel just putting him in a coma. He will awaken when I'm finished with my little character plot.

"Farel's down!" shouted Taikaru through her microphone. It came out loud and clear into Lee's ear, "He's down!"

"What happened, Taikaru?" Lee asked.

"He got bitten by a sandviper!" she replied, "He's unconscious!"

"Is the sandviper still there?" asked Lee.

"No," she said, "It's burrowed back down into the ground. Farel is unconscious but alive, and I'm unharmed."

"Ok, stay there, I'm coming to get you!" Lee said. He disconnected his commlink, and turned to Carl.

"Farel's just been bitten by a Sandviper. He's unconscious, but his vitals are still there. I'm going to go get them."

"No you're not. We have to complete the mission, then we can go and find Taikaru and Farel, okay?" said Carl.

"But Farel's hurt! Badly! I have to help him!"

"But if you do, more people could die because they don't get their antidote. You have a duty to help the others. It's what Farel would want!"

Lee nodded, and they carried on through the long grass. They came to a small village, and there were people walking around who looked very ill. They were throwing up, and all looked weak at the knees.

Lee wondered into the village, and there was a sign just outside which said "No Entry, Plague Carriers Village."

"They think it's some sort of plague," said Lee quietly.

"Well, we'd better help them, I guess. At least we're going to be immune to the virus."

"I guess thats a plus," said Lee. He went into the village, and began talking to a young woman.

"Where is the head of your village?" he said, slowly and loudly.

"He is in that tent over there," she said in fluent English, making Lee look rather foolish. He thanked her and went over to the tent. He went in, and there was a sickly old man inside, looking extremely ill.

"Hello," said Lee, "We are here to help your village get rid of the plague. But we need your permission to do so. Do we have it?"

The old man nodded weakly. Lee opened his bag and took out a small needle. He pierced the cap of a phial of clear blue liquid with it, and pulled the plunger back. He then injected the old man in the arm with the vaccine. He brightened up immediately. Lee smiled and left the tent.

"The anti-virus works," Lee said to Carl, smiling. He sat on the ground and took his notebook out. He began writing notes about the virus down.

Virus appears to be transmitted by drinking water, possibly airborne as well[/I]

He put his notebook and pen away, and took out some more needles full of the anti-virus. Carl pulled some out of his bag, and they went to work.

Eric smiled, reassuring the villagers that he and Ivy could help them as they administered the antivirus.

'You must be angels.' one old woman said.

'Angels?' Eric said, 'I thought Buddhism was the official religion here. Shouldn't you be calling us buddhas?'

The old woman smiled, 'There are a few Christians here, you are not alone.'

Eric smiled again, 'I'm not a christian, and certainly not an angel. I don't even believe in God.'

The old woman looked at him like he was a lost puppy. 'Your faith will return someday,' she said, 'God still loves you.'

Eric chuckled as he gently pulled the needle from the woman's arm.

'You don't believe in God?' Ivy said as he passed.

Eric readied another syringe, 'No.'

'Why not?'

Eric greeted his next patient, assuring him that this would destroy the virus. Then he spoke, 'A lot of things. But, mostly, because of what happened that New Years' Eve.'

'You lost something, too?' she asked, 'What?' That's when they heard a voice in their earpieces. It was Taikaru.

'Ivy. Eric. We need help.' she said.

'What happened?' Ivy asked.

'We were attacked by a sandviper.' she said, a bit frantic, 'Farel was bitten.'

Ivy stood quickly, 'We're on the way.' she said. Eric stopped her.

'We can't both leave these people,' he said, 'I'll go.'

OOC: Nice way to get into a coma.

Taikaru sat there waiting for someone to come. Her anger flared within her. She felt it as some kind of new species brewing inside her. The monster wanted to lash out and Taikaru held it in. But then she remembered something. The shot that Farel gave to the viper would at least have bruised it. *I know how to track that viper down. Farel will be avenged. These blood thirsty animals will be spared no mercy.* ?I say pity on their souls.? Taikaru said softly. Next thing she knew she herd something in her earpiece.
?The serum works it is a success.? It was Lee on the radio. Taikaru got up with some liquid type running around her cheek. She could feel the cool wind upon it. It was a tear. ?Guess we all have to feel sad sometime.? Taikaru once again pulled out the little radio. ?This is ground unit south side. We need pick up in a local village. One of our members is unconscious. Team survey will commence first before needed pick up. Estimated time will be 1300 hours. Pick up then. Taikaru out.?
?That is confirmed Ground unit south. Falcon will hover until then.? Taikaru put the radio away and walked over to Farel.
?The wound isn?t critical. It is only a small scratch on the leg. If you can hear me Farel do something.? Taikaru was waiting. She knew that he would be able to live but she didn?t know how long the coma would last. ?Farel come on. I don?t want you to have to live what I lived through.? Taikaru yelled quietly. ?Your stupid enough to put your own life at risk for some slithering brown snake. Is this what you wanted on this mission? Farel you don?t have to live through this. It isn?t?? Taikaru fell to Farel?s torso and didn?t finish her sentence. Ivy took a couple of steps towards her. Taikaru could barely see through her watery eyes.
?Don?t worry Taikaru he will be alright. You said it is only a scratch.?
?Your right Ivy. I don?t act like this. I should keep to the mission.?

Eric entered the village and Taikaru was sitting on a bench. ?Hey Eric. Anyone else coming??
?No. But I will help as much as I can.? Ivy, Taikaru, and Eric all looked at Farel for anything life threatening. ?Looks to be only a coma. He is lucky to escape from that situation like this. One question. How do we get him back to base??
?I?ll bring in Falcon unit. This is ground unit south we are requesting pick up now. Soldier Farel is harmed and in a coma. He needs immediate attention.?
?Roger that ground team south. We?ll be there in five minutes.?

?This is Falcon coming in we are now five-hundred meters above you. We are closing in and landing.?
?Received Falcon we will be waiting your arrival.? Taikaru again put the radio away. ?I have fear for some of these people though. The only thing more dangerous than a sand viper is a gapping hole left by one. The viper could come up out of the ground un-noticed and strike these civilians.?
?I see that you have done some research on these things.?
?Yes I got a whole file of them in my computer. They are the most deadly creature I have encountered.? The sound of the jet was above them. They saw the jet coming down. Slowly it hovered by them.
?Alright let?s put Farel in.? Ivy said. They gently lifted Farel and walked to the jet.
?Falcon be careful if you hover to close to the hole the...? suddenly the snake came from it?s hole again and bumped its head into the jet. The snake saw it as a threat. It lunged its head back. ?Falcon get out of the way.? Taikaru tried to call to the jet. The jet was struck by the humongous snake and shattered the cockpit. The jet crashed and the snake went under again. Farel was set on the bench and Taikaru and Ivy went to look at the pilots. It was Taikaru who got to them first. ?At strike from the teeth to the throat. What a way to go.? The pilots both had a huge hole in their throat. ?Ivy you should check the engine. See if it is still working.?
?Right.? Taikaru followed her to the back. ?Seems that there isn?t that much damage.?
?Good. Flight training will finally pay off.? Taikaru radioed red on her ear piece. ?Come in red.?
?Oh Taikaru how are you??
?A better question would be how is Farel. I am requesting permission to transport Farel back to the main facility.?
?Permission denied Taikaru. We need you to help these people.?
?Red don?t agitate me. I will get you in the end.?
?I?m sorry Taikaru but there is no help.?
?Fine Taikaru out. I got to radio in anyone else. M come in. M are you there.?
?Yes what is it??
?To make this long story short, Farel got bit and we need to take him to a medical facility. Red has denied permission of transport to the main facility. Is there any alternatives??
?Let me see. Well I think there is an army strong hold I saw to your east. They may have a medical bay. If they don?t then there isn?t any.?
?Alright M. I?m taking this off with Farel. You and Eric will need to wait here until I come back. We need to study the abnormalities of the virus and the functions of the serum.?
?Alright Taikaru just hurry back. And what about the snake.?
?The snake?s weakness is it?s eyes. It can?t see you unless you move. Implode the brain or shoot it. That will make it cry for awhile and then fall. You?ll have to do all that extraordinarily quick though. The snaked love to kill.? Taikaru then took off with Farel.

The jet came down softly and Ivy was there. She stood in front of a dead sand viper with a hole in its head. ?What happened here?? Taikaru asked in surprise.

[COLOR=DarkSlateGray][SIZE=1][I]Oh Andy......[/I] M thought to himself as he and Andy walked down the dirt path...he wanted to give her so much. But he felt like he couldn't...that she would not be able to bear his burdens.

''Andy....please wait!" as he attempted to run up beside her. Andy's strides were long and fierce...obviously trying to keep distance away from her and M.

''Shut up...I dont want to talk to you M. No more games...'' she yelled as her pace quickened.

''I know I know...'' as M stepped in front of her, throwing his weapons and bags to the side of the road...''you're right...no more games.''

''Get out of my way M...'' she protested as she tried to push herself through his body...but M grabbed her, wrapping his arms around her tight, preventing her from leaving him as she struggled. ''M...please...let me go!''

''No...'' he said in a calm voice; not letting go.

''M...I'm telling you right now...let me go!''

''No...'' he replied again.

Suddenly M's back scortched with fire, burning through his brown trench coat. He kept his grip around Andy as the pain intensified. ''Please....*voice becoming weak by the fire*........listen to me Andy...''

''Just let me go M..and it will all go away.'' Andy's voice weakening as well...she was getting tired from struggling against his embracing arms.

''Nnnooooooo...please...forgive me...I didn't know what I was doing...but even in this moment Andy...I do still....love you.''

Immidiately...after his words were done...the flames died down, and Andy burst into tears.

''You hurt me M.........I trusted you.'' banging her fists into his chest. ''And don't you dare try and use your powers on me now M...I know when you're in me so dont try to cheat your way out of this.''

Still...M kept his voice gentle and calm; he knew and accepted the fact that he had done wrong to her. But he wasn't going to give up on her.

''I know I did Andy...and I'm sorry...please forgive me.'' Andy stopped banging her hands into his fist, and felt like she was going to pass out from exhaustion from the heat and the struggle.

''M...I just want...'' she stopped herself; the walls were coming back down again...even without him using his powers.

''To be loved...'' added M...Andy was shocked, she suddenly stopped crying. ''I know Andy...I'm sorry I couldn't share that with you before. I only relieved how much I cared for you when I lost you.''

''You haven't lost me M....I was afraid.'' M slowly petted her hair.

''I know my dear...and I will do all I can to make it up too you.''

''Then kiss me...'' as she looked up into his eyes...''please....kiss me.''

M leaned down and kissed her so passionately; so lovingly, she almost fell over in his arms.

''Wow.........for my first kiss M....that was amazing.'' Andy was almost in a daze.

M embraced her again and pressed his lips against hers...''and that will not be the last. When this mission is over.......I'll give all of myself for you...whatever you want to know about me....or do.'' as he gave a slight smile. Andy grinned and continued to walk down the dirt path; hand in hand.

***3 hours later***

''I think that'll do it for now M...we've gotten as much info about the serum and the virus as possible.''

''You're right Andy....*crackle*...Andy...comm's from the others.''

''M....get to our position quick....Farel is down...I repeat...Farel is down'' yelled Taikaru.

''Andy....can you ride a motorcycle?''

''Yes M....why?''

''Get to that motorcycle over there....we've got to get back to the others.''

''Be careful out there M'' replied Taikaru again...''sandworms are all over the place...and can sense its prey my movement on the ground...be careful.'' [/SIZE] [/COLOR]

[Redemption]

[COLOR=DarkRed][FONT=Trebuchet MS]Andy swung her leg over the motorcycle. She kicked started it to life. Surprisingly, it was a fairly new road bike. It must have belonged to one of the slave drivers around this region. Luckily he had conveniently left it behind. M got on behind her. He wrapped his arms around Andy's middle. A small smile crossed Andy's lips.
" Hold on M. This is going to be one ride you won't forget."
The engine roared to life and they jolted forward, racing over the dirt tracks.

Weaving around to avoid obstacles, Andy found the ride rather enjoyable. That was until they were met by some uninvited visitors. Two Sand Vipers reared up out of the earth.
" Andy, Sand Vipers," M said into her ear. Andy's body temperature jumped. The Phoenix soaring above them prieced the air with a war cry. It flew start towards the Sand Vipers that attacked Andy and M. Andy swerved side to side to avoid their strikes. The Phoenix attacked the Vipers, taking out their eyes.
" Shoot it M. Between the eyes!" Andy yelled over the screechs and cries of both Snake and Phoenix alike. M turned and aimed for one of the Vipers that the Phoenix had already maimed. Pulling the trigger, a bullet pierced the snake's forehead. M turned to the other and did the same. Both of the snakes cried for some time and then fell dead.

M turned back around to see Andy focused on the road ahead.
" How did you know?"
" One of those things killed something close to me."
" You don't need to be secretive anymore."
" I'm not. It's just hard."

Soon they arrived at the town Taikaru said she was at. They both got off the motorcycle but didn't see anyone.
" Where are they?" Andy wondered.[/FONT][/COLOR]

[Blayze]

"Ok," said Lee as he administered the serum to the last villager, "That's our work here done." He dropped the empty syringe into the plastic bin that they had brought, and closed it up. He packed the bag into one of his bags, and threw the bin away. It would decompose, as it was made entirely from natural materials. He sealed his bag and swung it onto his back.

"Hey Carl," he shouted, "You ready to go?" Carl nodded and threw his bin away after packing away the bag of used needles. They left the village, and some of the villagers waved them goodbye. They walked through the scrub to try and get to Taikaru's position, where Farel would also be, with luck.

They left the scrub after a while and began onto some hard, dry earth, covered in dust. They had walked on this for around half an hour when the ground began to shake. Cracks appeared, and dust rose into the air as it was shaken around. Something began to shove it's ugly head through the ground.

"Sandviper!" shouted Lee, drawing his sword. The viper emerged fully, rearing up, about to strike, when Carl unloaded an entire clip of explosive ammuntion at the creature's head. It was surrounded by a cluster of fireworks, and it was stunned for a moment, which was enough time for Lee to hold it still with his telekinesis, and run up onto it's back. He propelled himself forwards with the power of his mind, and very soon he was on the back of the viper's head. He held himself steady as the viper moved around, recovering from Lee's psionic assault, and plunged his sword into the back of it's head. He pulled it out again, and it dripped with black blood, which steamed and hissed. He stabbed the viper repeatedly, and soon blood was splattering all over Lee's clothes and face.

The viper began to fall.

"Look out Carl!" shouted Lee. Carl dived out of the way as the giant viper came crashing down to the ground, which it struck with considerable force. Dust rose and settled on it as Lee stepped gracefully off it's head.

"I guess we know how to kill them now," he said light-heartedly. They continued on towards Taikaru's location.

[Akieen Cloud]

Ivy leaned against a nearby tree relaxing and sighed. She felt at peace here, even with the sandvipers coming and going. She had already wxpoloded one. It seemed they were breeding somehow.
"Not surprising."
She smiled as she saw M playing with a couple village children, Andy was also watching him. Ivy hadn't asked on it but she wasn't sure if Andy was still treating M coldly or not. Andy and Ivy seemed to be the two closest to good frieds in the group, other than Lee and Carle. She walked over to Andy and bumped her shoulder lightly showing she meant no harm with her actions.
"You know he really likes you."
Andy scoffed.
"No, I'm serious."
"Ivy, please do me a favor."
"Wht's that?"
"Mind your own business."
Ivy closed her eyes putting her hands abov her head.
"Alright, I can take a hint. I'll shut up. But you know, I'm right Andy. He does want to help yoou you know. Maybe you should give him the chance."
Ivy looked back and Andy and shrugged.
"But hey, who am I to say what you do? You wanna like him too thats your chioce."
Ivy smiled as a slight pink tint creeped into Andy's cheeks. Ivy turned and went back to her tree. She felt kinda like a big sister in the group, although she was no older than most there, in fact she was close to the youngest. She looked around and something filled her heart.
[I]This is my family, they take care of me I take care of them. I geuss I could cal them that...As long as they don't know...[/I]
She saw M look at her and she crossed her eyes sticking out her tounge in a manner that made the kids around his legs giggle. she smiled and sighed.
"Family...after living without one for so long, that doesn't sound half bad."
She continued to scout the arean for the others and any sign of danger, he feelings a little lighter than normal.

Farel felt his life slowly ebbing from his body as the poison made its way through his system. The darkness was slowly overtaking him. He was alone again, but this was worse than the lonliness in life. He was alone in his own mind, his consciousness. It was scarier. Shouldn't he at least see his life flashing before his eyes? He was dying wasn't he? He started to think about the team. Those who he had met in the short time he had been a part of Project: Heaven. He'd only been with them for one mission, but he had already begun to think of them as friends, almost family. Almost to the point that he would have revealed his full past. But that was not going to happen now. He had taken that information to the grave. He was scared in this dark secluded place that was his mind. So he began to think of each person individually. M who had always seemed to have a friendly, cheerful nature, except in the most recent of days. M appeared to be the backbone of the team. He was always there to help people with there problems, past and present. Farel wished he had gotten to know him better. Wished he had tried to help M. Next was Andy. She had been the most tightly locked secret of the group (possibly with the exception of himself). But however M had gotten her to open up she had become cheerful and bridged that gap between herself and the others. He hoped that the two of them would work out their recent problems. He believed that they would be perfect for each other. Carl, the quite one of the group. He never said much, rarely showed any emotion but was useful to have around. Farel remembered that Carl had been so adamant about working alone when they had all met, but after the first mission he had changed slightly. He was still very independant but also trusted the group. The there was Lee. His telekinetic powers almost made him the protective one of the group, but he was also light hearted. Lee seemed to bring out the bright side of a problematic situation. [I]I wonder what he would say about this[/I], Farel thought. He had liked Lee. Ivy seemed very tight lipped, but at the same time friendly. Farel had not spent a lot of time with her but had still felt he knew her. She had not revealed her past either but it did not matter to him. He knew that there were some things that one had to keep to themselves. Eric, the late edition to the team. Having joined the team midway through that first mission, Farel had not had a chance to get to know him. He was now the mystery of the group, but he too was friendly. And finally there was Taikaru, who in a way reminded him of [B]her[/B]. Taikaru had chosen him as the only person to, in a sense, reveal her dark secreat to. Why had she done that? Maybe she had been trying to get close to him? He wouldn't have noticed as he was trying to keep a gap between himself and the others. He had seemed to relax around her. He remembered saving her and hoped that dhe had escaped. He also remembered her calling his name as he lost consciousness. Suddenly he saw a large bright light and a person walking towards him. At first he thought it might be Taikaru having not escaped the sand viper, but then he realised it was [B]her[/B]. She was bathed in the light which he believed to be the entrance to heaven. Her beauty seemed to radiate around the dark space. He was glad to see her yet also surprised. It had been over a year since she had died. All he could do was say her name, "Mai." -----Back in reality----- Farel's body had been placed on a bed in one of the local's homes. Taikaru sat by the bed waiting and hoping that he would awaken. The were all feeling the effects of this. Eric stood by the door way. Ivy, M and Andy were outside playing with the children. Carl and Lee had not yet arrived in the village.

Eric stood in the doorway, leaning against the doorjam. For the moment, his trademark smile gone from his face. His fingers were idly playing with the tie on his sword. His gaze going back and forth from the children playing outside, to Farel's prone form.

[I]Why didn't I see this coming? Is something blocking me?[/I] His eyes closed as his head fell to rest against the frame of the door.

'Damn.'

[COLOR=DarkSlateGray][SIZE=1]The children of the town who were playing with M were all giggly and happy, jumping up and down as he chased them...sometimes tickling them, or just simply lifting them up into the air like an airplane. M also let them beat him up...as he pretended to quirm around as they attacked him.

Ivy and Andy were standing to the side, laughing and talking with one another as they saw M make a fool of himself. In the distance...and veichle could be heard approaching the town. M sat up from the ground, and gently moved the children out of the way as M ran hard towards the gates of the town.

It was Lee and Carl...as they got out, M embraced them both...happy to see that his friends were still alive.

''How come you didn't contact us...'' asked M as he continued to joke with the two men.

''We had a little trouble M...can't you tell.'' Lee smiled as he pointed at all the black blood that had begun to stain his clothes.

''I can see that...how bout you Carl...you alright?''

''I'm good M...our mission was complete in the town which you sent us too.''

''As with everyone else...this is the last town before we head for Hong Kong. However, Farel was bitten by those sand vipers and is now in a coma.''

''Is he gonna be ok?'' Lee questioned...suddenly the emotions in the air died down.

''I hope for the best my friend...'' as M placed a hand on his shoulder...''only time will tell.''

The three men walked together towards the hotel where Ivy and Andy greated Lee and Carl. M left them to talk as he entered the hotel...he hadn't actually seen Farel yet. Walking up the stairs...Eric greeted M at the door as he took notice at Taikaru sitting on the edge of the bed.

''Taikaru...'' as M gave a nod...looking at a concerned look upon her face. She didn't answer him...but acknowledged his presence.

M grabbed a chair and sat at the head of the bed, overlooking Farel as he placed a hand on his forehead.

''Wait!'' yelled out Taikaru...almost jumping off the bed.

''SSSHHhhhhh...dont worry Taikaru; I'm not using my powers on him. Farel has always been quiet about his feelings...and I plan on keeping it that way. Please....relax...'' M ushered calmy as Taikaru took her seat back on the edge of the bed.

M began whipping away the sweat the was pouring off his head...[I]he's dreaming...[/I] M thought to himself. ''Eric...can you get me a wash clothe drenched in water.''

''Sure...no problem.'' as Eric went into the bathroom and quickly got a wet wash rag.

''Thank you very much...'' as Eric went back to his spot, leaning against the door frame.

He slowly rubbed the rag up and down Farel's face and forehead...trying to cool him down. M then folded it and placed it over his forehead. Leaning up against the wall with the chair...M looked at Farel intensly...caring for the well-being of his friend.

***Outside***

Ivy, Lee, Carl and Andy were all talking to each other outside the hotel when suddenly Lee went quiet...

''Whats wrong Lee?'' questioned Ivy...

''Everyone...'' replied Lee...his voice was deep, and yet caucious and quiet...

''Lee...whats wrong man?'' asked Carl.

''Everyone...be quiet...and slowly...move into the hotel.'' as Lee motioned for the civilians on the streets to clear out.

Suddenly...5 massive heaps of earth began to close in on the town which could be seen through the gates.

''RUN!'' cried out Carl as he saw them...''GET INSIDE!'' everyone ran into their respectable buildings as the group rushed into the hotel...

''What the hell is going on Lee...'' declared Andy....taking a hold of his collar.

''Those sand vipers who attacked me and Carl must have followed us by the sounds of the jeep. These things have no eyes Andy...they can hear us on the surface through sound...we need to get above ground...''[/SIZE][/COLOR]

[Redemption]

[COLOR=DarkRed][FONT=Trebuchet MS]The ground shook beneath them as they stood on the bottom floor of the building. Everyone looked at the ground.

Abruptly, the vipers cracked through the concrete floor and grabbed all four team members and dragged them underground. The vipers' tails were clasped so tightly around each of them that they could hardly breath.

Coming above ground outside, the vipers flung the Heaven members onto the earth. They all rose slowly, looking around cautiously.
" Where the hell are these things?" Ivy growled. She wanted to blow up one of them. A red ring appeared around her waist where the viper has snared her.
" Shhh Ivy. They know exactly where we are. They are just playing with us," Carl said sullenly. The group could see the vipers circling them, just waiting for the opportunity to launch their attack upon them.

One reared up suddenly and grabbed Andy by the leg. With the distraction in place, three others were picked up by three other vipers. In one gulp, all four vipers swallowed the Heaven members. Andy went tumbling down the snake's throat and into its sickening stomach. Splashes of stomach acid dripped onto Andy and scorhed her skin and burtn her clothes.
" God....I need some help here..."

In an instant, Andy felt warmth throughout her entire body. [i]Fire[/i] It wasn't warmth. Flames were burning outside of Andy's body. They covered her entire body. The ciper thrashed sideways and pelted Andy into its side. She heard its scream in pain, and tried to vomit up Andy.

" No way you overgrown reptile."

Andy threw out her hands and a storm of fire blew forth, burning a gapping hole in the snake's side. She masterfully rolled out of it and found herself in one of the snake's tunnels. The tunnel being very narrow, the viper couldn't turn and attack Andy. Andy looked at the creature with sad eyes.

" I am sorry my friend. But you have done wrong against me and my friends. I send you to your grave."

Holding out her right hand, the viper was engulfed with a white flame and was incinerated. She looked left and then right. There seemed to be no clear way out. Trudging along the tunnel, Andy started looking for the others.

Lee had managed to lodge himself in the viper's throat, so as not to fall into the corroding acid of it's stomach. He was holding onto the cartilage inside the viper's throat, making it cough and spasm wildly. He grabbed handfuls of the cartilage and began to pull it around, causing the viper's spasms to increase violently. It coughed him out, onto the hard ground.

"Ew," he said, dripping with saliva, strings of it almost sticking him to the ground. He stood up, and shook the worst of the sticky mucus from his body, then looked around for some kind of weapon. He saw a dead tree sticking out of the ground, its sharp branches itching to be used as a weapon. He ran over to it and ripped one of the branches off, then looked at it.

"Am I going crazy? That won't help me." He dropped the branch and used his powers to grab the entire tree, and uproot it. It broke from the ground easily, the rotten roots breaking at he slightest hint of tension. It floated in the air next to his until the viper was in the optimum position. Lee drew his handgun and fired into the viper's forehead. It screeched and pulled its head back. He launched the tree at it, and it slammed straight into the viper's neck. Black blood oozed from its neck, hitting the ground in large gobbets which slammed and broke apart as they hit the ground.

The viper fell, and Lee held it up with his powers. This time it was a great strain to hold it up, and he almost dropped it on himself a couple of times. He moved well out of the way, then hurled the viper skywards. It flew upwards, then smashed into the ground, cracking open gashes in the landscape.

He waited for a second, the heard the movement underground. The ground shook, and the last two remaining sandvipers burst forth from the ground, erupting from it like colossal geysers of flesh and blood.

Lee drew both his handguns and fired into the back of one of the viper's heads. It turned and heard where the noise was coming from. It moved rapidly towards Lee, who took a grenade pack from his bag. He threw it away from him. One grenade exploded, so the viper moved towards the sound. As it got to the grenade pack, the rest exploded, showering the surrounding area in viper entrails. Carl slid out gracefully, and landed on his feet, covered in blue-black ooze.

"Thanks a lot," he said to Lee sarcastically.

"Any time." Lee winked at him, and laughed, forgetting about something. He turned around, and the second viper swallowed him whole...

[Akieen Cloud]

Ivy caught Lee before he went down the throat.
"Come to join me have you?"
She was holding on to one of the back fangs lgihtly, not letting the viper know she was there. She winked at him and helped him forward to where she was holding on.
"becareful, I would hate it if we lost you Lee."
She looked back at the Viper's mouth and smiled as it opened it, she grabbed his hand tightly and flung her-self out nd spun looking at the great beast, she still held his hand and she frowned blowing the creature up, blood and flesh splattered all over the ground.
"Um...Ivy, can I have my hand back please?"

She cleaned her face off and began to look for the others.
"Where are M and Andy?"
Lee shrugged as he helped Carle over to somewhere to sit.
"I hope their okay...M, NAdy, find your way sfetly...please."
She sat down and watched Lee and Carle talk wondering where everyone else was.

Eric did not like this. Inside the snake's stomach was too narrow to draw his sword, even if he had it. Thankfully, it was still outside, away from the digestive acids burning his skin and clothes.

Fortunately for Eric, that wasn't the only weapon he had. His hand shot into the pouch near his knee, coming out with two small knives.

'Sorry,' he said, 'but I'm going to have to be going now.' He plunged the knives into the creature stomach wall, cutting a hole wide enough to walk through, were he able to stand up in this thing, in one go. The creature writhed in agony as it's body was disected from the inside out. A few moments later, he had cut himself a hole to the outside. The creature fell dead as he jumped to the ground, rolling towards the building and his sword.

He grabbed his sword, unsheathing it and turning back to the creatures in one smooth motion, only to find them all dead. He sheathed his sword and turned to the others to see M and Andy missing and a giant hole in the ground.

'I think they're down there.' he said.

'Ok, ' Lee said, 'But where are your clothes?'

Eric looked down, it appeared the snake's digestive acids had burned him in a few spots and eaten away most of his clothing.

'Eh, 'he said, 'Everything important's covered, let's get going.'

[Blayze]

They found the hole that Andy must have fallen down and jumped down it, one after the other. They fell a short distance into a network of underground tunnels and viper-holes which all seemed to interconnect. They began to walk along them. It was fascinating, seeing what these completely blind creatures could do with just the power of hearing. They seemed to have an entire community worked out underground, where they could all co-exist peacefully together.

Lee trudged along the tunnel, trying to find any sign of Andy. He looked for scorchmarks or anything. He smelt the air, and found a hint of burnt flesh. That was probably where Andy was. He turned a corner and came face-to-face with a colossal viper. It opened it's jaws and spat at Lee. He covered most of his body, saving it from the corrosive venom, but the black substance hit his eyes. It burnt, and then everything went black. He was still conscious, he knew because he could still hear and smell eveything that was going on, but he couldn't see it. He fell to the floor and gasped, clutching at his face. He heard vague sounds of Ivy shouting at the others to help Lee, and then a wet splat as the viper exploded, probably due to Ivy. A hand gripped his shoulder, and he felt himself being hauled out of the tunnel. He lay on the ground, shaking, his body covered in cold sweat. He was blind. He couldn't see.

*Why must I feel like this is there something wrong. No it isn?t possible. I do care for Farel but he is only my teammate.* Taikaru sat there wondering at the edge of the bed. The folds were wrinkled and damp as Farel laid on the bed in his own sweat. Eric was outside the door in his own thoughts. *Trusted Farel I did and what did it get me. Misery of seeing him like this. Never shall I reveal to anyone what I see from my past for it is all an omen of bad luck.* M came in and Taikaru pulled away from her thoughts putting up an intense mind barrier herself by thinking of the past mission. But all she could think about was what Farel did for her. ?Taikaru?? She made a small glance at M and looked back at Farel. M came to sit by her. He took his hand and moved it slowly to Farel?s head. Without her knowing the word came out of her mouth

''SSSHHhhhhh...dont worry Taikaru; I'm not using my powers on him. Farel has always been quiet about his feelings...and I plan on keeping it that way. Please....relax...'' M then requested of a soaked towel. Eric went down stairs and M stared at Farel.

?Well you may be right.? Then there was rumbles they could feel. The boards the houses were made out of were shaking and coming off somewhat from the poor craftsmanship.
?What is that?? Taikaru asked already knowing what it was.
?Must be a sandviper.? M went towards the window. Everyone was running into the houses. One of the moving humps of ground came to the hut they were at. The sandviper broke through the ground or that is what they herd.
?They aren?t getting Farel!? Taikaru put her hands to the floor and it turned into the usual black like color that she made with anything. After a couple minutes Taikaru let go of the barrier.
?I have never seen you powers in action. Quite a good performance.?
?Too bad it wasn?t to kill the thing.? Then a viper came through the window and M was flung outward. He wasn?t swallowed like she saw a couple others were of the heaven team. He crashed head on into a wall of a different building and went through. ?That isn?t good.? Taikaru looked past what she should have been looking at. Right when she made her eyes focus on what was blocking her view. She saw the head come at her. In the last second she felt fear overcome her. She felt like she passed out. She awoken to find that the entire plaza was in ruins. There were huge holes in the grounds that seemed to lead to nowhere. Buildings were split and splinters were everywhere. She remembered what happen to M and looked out over to where the viper had tossed him. The hole still looked fresh. *What about Farel. Good nothing happened to him. I?m sorry but I will have to leave you for a bit.* Taikaru looked back down where M was. She jumped out the hole made by the viper and raced over to where M lay. She found him sprawled out on the floor looking happy then sad while he was unconscious. ?M are you alright. I know that wouldn?t hurt you.? She examined his body to see the leg scarred. ?By an analysis I believe that he won?t go into Farel?s condition. As long as he doesn?t hit the venomous teeth he will be fine.? She said talking to herself. *I wonder where everyone else went. Even while swallowed you can still kill a viper.*

-one hour later

*I?m still amazed at how the people here received venomous blows and still didn?t die. The serum must be great for the first hours. As for M I think he will be waking up anytime. Maybe should be the time to call him. Well there isn?t any harm within it.* Taikaru pulled out a thing that looked to be a little tv. The same little screen she pulled out back when she couldn?t sleep. ?Now he will have some useful information. I will also have to send him the venom. Nicked it off the floor earlier.?

?Mr. Netashima how are things up there.?
?Oh Taikaru how are the emotions coming.?
?Well I am getting a hang of the basic ones.? She told him with some enthusiasm.

Otherwise you will fall into danger.* Taikaru went up to Farel?s room after thinking about that. She looked at him. He looked like he was ready to ball. Then he said something not quite understandable.

OOC: sounds like evryone is in trouble. "Mai," Farel repeated. It was all he could say. He was in a sense of shock, yet he was also in awe. A year had been too much for him to handle without her by his side. He hadn't even survived the first day without her without breaking down in tears. Her absence had left a hole in his heart, in his very soul. A hole that scared him but that he could keep at bay by surrounding himself with people. He found himself thinking that she had not changed in that year. That her beauty had not been desecrated as her body had been on that day. But then he remembered she was dead. It was her soul, her spirit that he was seeing. It then came to him that he had probably been killed by the viper as he had first suspected. "Mai, is it really you," he asked. "Yes Farel. It is I," she responded. "It has been a long time." Farel stood and ran towards her. When he reached her, he embraced her. They stood there, embracing each other for what Farel could only describe as a perfect moment. Tears began to roll down his face. "Do not cry, my love." Mai said to him. "I can't help it," was his reponse. "I have missed you so much and now I finally get to be with you again." "That may be true but it will only be for a short time." Farel starred at her. He was confused by what she had said. [I]A short time.[/I] But didn't they now have eternity together. He asked the only question that he could. "What do you mean? Am I not also dead?" "It is not yet your time," is all she said. "Not yet my time? You mean to say that I must to that chaos? But was it your time when those creatures attacked, when I was unable to save you?" Everyone's life is predetermined, Farel. The choices we make that lead to that fate is the only freedom we have. It will always end the same," Mai replied cryptically. "But..." he began but she continued. "My time had arrived. Though it was short, if I was able to relive it I would not change a thing. I loved , and still love you Farel, and that will never change." "So after this I will never see you again?" "We will meet again one day," She replied after a pause. "But enough of this sadness. We still have time together for now. Let us speak of joyous things." OOC: Now I'm getting Philosphical. Anyway I'll probably wake Farel up on my next post. If you want to finish the mission and head back to base it would work better for my story. I'm sure it would suit Blayzes character too.
