RPG Darkness Falls: The Fall of Man [M-VSL]

He watched the two figures walking, in between him and the, now useless, ship. The man was easy to identify as a vampire. Unfortunately, the girl happened to be the president's daughter.

[I]Well, from the looks of it, I'm not getting to the ship without a fight.[/I] he thought, [I]Too bad, fighting a vampire alone's not the best idea, especially with that girl there. And if that's the Master vampire, it's definitely not something I wanna do alone...[/I] He chuckled to himself.

[I]Right, when planning fails, wing it. Here's hoping some of the other's can still fight... and notice what's happening, that would be cool, too.[/I] He drew his nodaichi. [I]Red, you owe me for this one.[/I]

He stepped out of the shadow, his blade glinting in the moonlight. After a few seconds the vampire turned a startled expression on his face. This mortal [I]...boy?[/I] had snuck up on him.

The boy looked up at the moon and smiled. A real, honest-to-god smile, 'It's a lovely night, tonight, wouldn't you agree?'

It was the vampire's turn to smile, 'Are you out of your mind, boy? You plan on attacking me alone?'

The boy's smile dropped a little, 'I'd rather not. I don't like to fight, it just turns out I'm pretty good at it.' He turned to look at the vampire, 'They want me to kill you, but if you let the girl go I'll let you live.'

The vampire roared with laughter, 'You? Let [I]me[/I] live? I think you have it backwards.'

'Is that a 'no'?' the boy asked.

The vampire gave him a feral grin, 'Why don't you ask her?' he said.

As if in response, the girl seemed to latch onto the vampire, giving his arm a death grip that would probably cause a man to loose consciousness, but seemed not to affect the vampire in the least.

The boy's smile fell, this was not good.

'I guess you win that round,' he said to the vampire, 'but I have one more thing to ask.'

'You final request?' the vampire asked,'Before I kill you?'

The boy shrugged, 'Will you have her move away? I don't want her to get hurt.'

'Is that all?' the vampire said, 'A pitiful last request.' Then, by some unspoken command, the girl let go of the vampire's arm and moved a safe distance away. The vampire turned toward the boy, who mirrored him.

'Just so you know,' the boy said, 'My name is Eric, I'm 20 years old and that wasn't my last request.'

The vampire laughed, 'You think so?'

Eric's smile returned as he charged. His sword moved with blinding speed, but the vampire was faster. His hand, flattened like the edge of a sword, swept across Eric's torso.

Or, at least, where it used to be. Eric had disappeared. The vampire looked around for any sign of him, but could find none. Until he felt the piercing pain of a sword being thrust through his back and out his chest. The vampire looked down in disbelief, and cried out as the blade twisted around in his chest and then slashed upwards, splitting the vampire in two from the sternum up.

'I know.' Eric said, wiping the blood from the blade with care. Once it was completely clean, he sheathed it and turned to the girl. The glow of feral eyes began to appear around them.

'Would you like to go home now?'

[Blayze]

They watched as the strange man saved the president's daughter, and brought her to the ship. That was two objectives completed in a matter of minutes, by this one man. They had saved the president's daughter, and they had dispatched the leader of the vampires. All that was left to do now was to kill the leader of the werewolves.

Lee opened the telekinetic field slightly, so the man and the president's daughter could come in, and then closed it behind them as some wolves tried to get in.

M walked up to the man, and held his hand out. The man took it.

"The name's M, head of field ops Project Heaven."

"I'm Eric. It seems I found my team," he said.

"What do you mean?" asked Ivy.

"I'm a member of Project Heaven as well. I'm their agent in London, but I guess there's not a lot of point in me staying here now this has happened."

"I didn't hear about any agents in Britain. Is Red your commander?"

"Yeah," replied Eric, "I've been here a couple of months, doing some work into the vampire nests."

"So what type are you?" asked Lee.

"What do you mean?"

"What do you do? What's your power? Or don't you have any, like Carl?"

Carl grunted unhappily at this.

"I have glimpses. I see into the future, but only very brief flashes of things that are a few minutes ahead at most."

"I'm Lee. I'm a telekinetic."

Eric shook Lee's hand.

"Alright," said M, "Now all we need to do is find the leader of the werewolves. Then we can go home."

They all cheered at this.

[I]Good...we have the Presidents daughter...things should go much more smoothly as well with the head vampire killed. [/I]

M walked out of the ship and looked out at the stars that lit up the night sky...taking in the cool night air through his nostrils. This sort of things always relaxed him...that feeling from Lee was completely gone now. And everyone seemed to be calming down as well from the battle the had just transpired. He was getting worried though about Taikaru and Farel. They had been gone for almost a day, without any word...and then...he saw it.

''M...'' said Ivy as she walked out of the ship towards him. ''What are you doing out here?''

His attention turned from what caught his eye...and turned towards Ivy. ''Just taking in some fresh air...looking at the stars. How is everyone doing inside?''

''Good, Eric's arrival has gotten everyones spirit up...and all wounds have been treated.''

''Great job Ivy, how's Andy doing?''

''She'll make it...she's a fighter.''

''I know she is...''...M looked back out towards the sky...''how are you feeling?''

''I'm fine...just a little tired.''

''You should get some rest then...we'll head out once Andy wakes up...no later than tomorrow afternoon I hope.''

''Why...whats wrong M...something is on your mind. I can see it...aren't things gonna get easier now. All we have to do is to kill the head Lycan, maybe save any civilians, and then we're out of here.''

''There's been no sign of Farel or Taikaru, I'm getting worried.''

''Don't worry...'' punching him in the left shoulder...she felt something odd about it though...but just let it go by without any real thought.

''haha...I know...Farel can take care of himself. And when we head out tomorrow I'm sure they'll lead us right back to their main base and we'll kill their leader.'' M paused for a moment...thinking on how to say what he was about to say. ''But...we have a problem.''

''Whats that M?''

M pointed in the direction that had caught his eye before...a good distance away from the ship, there were multiple shadows moving around in the dark. The only reason he spotted them in the darkness was due to his left eye.

''I can barely make them out...there's definitly a lot of activity going on there.'' suddendly there was a scream, not of a Lycan...but of a....

Ivy was shocked...''but how...''

''I dont know...but whoever Eric killed...wasn't the head vampire. If it was...those vampires wouldn't be here...and the war would be over.''

Ivy couldn't believe it...she was so excited about the mission being over...and now they were back to square one in their place in this war.

''Come on...'' as M placed a hand on her shoulder...dont worry about it...we'll get them. Lets check up on Andy and we'll call it a night.''[/SIZE][/COLOR]

OCC: :)...oh I have more plans for the vampires...dont you worry :devil:

OOC: If you read back to the last post by Kiba_the_Chosen you would see that the guy I killed was supposedly the head vampire. Your storyline a probably still a few hours behind so if you want to get the extra plans for the vampires in, better do it quick.


"So what happened?" Taikaru asked as the two made their way slowly through the Lycan base.

"Well you were talking to that vampire and he attacked. I shot him from off to the side but you had already passed out. The locks were easier enough to pick so I laid you on the ground and waited at the door till you woke."

"No I don't mean that. I mean what happened to you guys after I was captured?"

Farel explained what had happened, their run in with the warewolves, ending up in a vampire hideout, Lee's injury and Andy's exhaustion. By this time they were on the main level of the lycan base and had not seen a single vampire or warewolf. That could be a good sign but it could also be bad indicating an ambush.

"Wait up." Taikaru said. "Didn't you say before that you killed that vampire that was going to attack me?"

"Yeah. Why?" Farel responded.

"Well, the way that guy talked it seemed to me that he was the head vampire."

"Good that at least means that one of our objectives is complete. And it was easier than what we met with." Farel seemed to enjoy the idea of no more vampires. But it still meant warewolves.

"Also some of the things that he told me suggested that they had already wiped out the warewolves." Taikaru continued.

Things seemed to be getting better for the group. Well at least the other's would be safe. As the reached the entrance to the base they began to hear voices on the other side of the door."

"Wait here." Farel told Taikaru as he slipped into the shadows to see what it was. He exited the building in silence. A pair of vampires were guarding the door. Well maybe Taikaru was wrong about the head vampire. Farel quickly dispatched of the two guards and then returned to Taikaru.

"We're going to have to be extra careful. Those were vampires so the one i killed was obviously not the head vampire." Farel explained. "We better get back to the other's quick as they may be in trouble."

"Well at least the warewolves are gone," Taikaru responded.

The two slipped out of the building and headed in the direction of the crash.

OOC: Ok the vampires are still alive but the warewolves are gone. Eradicated by their enemies. Keep that in mind from now on.

[i]Images of the priest standing over Andy flitted through her mind. She lay naked on the table, her stomach facing towards the floor. The priest was on top of her, also naked. A pain started growing in her crutch area as silent tears ran down her cheeks.[/i]

Andy opened her eyes and immediately the seat in front of her burst into flame. Ivy and M had just walked back in to see Lee, Carl and Farel stamping out a fire. They both looked at Andy who had a look of horror upon her face. M walked up to her, a concerned look on his face.

" Andy, are you okay?" he said, stretching a hand out to her shoulder.
" Don't touch me!" Andy snapped, hitting his hand away. But the instant Andy touched M's hand, the life replay that happened in Andy's mind was transferred to his. He stepped backwards a little, not showing any expression or any indication of what he had just seen. Andy stood up abruptly, arms around her ribs like she was hugging herself.
" What just happened M?" Ivy asked curiously, watching Andy walk into the back of the plane wreckage.
It took a while for M to find the right words. " Lets just say that I saw something that no one would like to experience."

Andy sat in one of the plane's mangled seats. She rocked back and forth slowly, trying to calm herself down, trying desperately not to cry. M had seen it, what had happened to her when she received the tattoo of the phoenix on her back. He had said that it was her punishment from God and that he had instructed him to do it to her. She believed it then, but now was a different story.

The feeling and image still haunted her, no matter what she did to supress it. It was like a constant thorn in her side, always reminding her of her past. Andy's hands shook in rage as they were clenched into tight balls.

A crunching sound behind her made Andy whirl around and confront whomever stood there. It was M with a very sombre look scrawled on his face. Andy glared at him.

" What do you want?"
" I .....I saw what happened to you...." he said softly, not daring to look at her in the eyes.
" I know," she growled rather threateningly.
" I just wanted to tell you that whatever he did to you, wasn't right, and no one should have to go through anything like that."

Andy stayed silent. She felt warm towards M but her past kept telling her to keep those barriers up. [i]Never trust anyone but yourself, until they have proven their worth[/i] as her papa used to say.

M searched for some sort of emotion or feeling in Andy's face but he couldn't see any. It was if she had trained herself to be completely devoid of emotion to those she didn't know. How dearly he wanted to read her. He wanted to know why she was so complex? Such an enigma? That incident, he supposed, was only one of many events that shaped Andy to become who she is now.

Andy looked M in the eyes. " He said that it was my punishment from God for what I had done. I used to believe that was true. Now, I most definitely do not. God doesn't do that to people, nor does he instruct that of people."
" You believe in God?" M asked.
" Yes."
" Why?"
" Because He is the only thing I live for My family have all perished and have been sent to Heaven. It is my mission from God to purge the Earth of these ungodly creatures and purify those that exist. That is my burden. And because the only thing I fear is the Devil."
" You are so complex Andy. Why do you shut people out?"
" My past haunts me so."
" And that's why?"
" You think you know M, but you don't. It seems like you have lived a sheltered life, away from pain and grief, because of your powers. How would you feel to be punished for those powers? Always punished...."

Andy grew silent as M looked on. He swore he saw two tears flow down her cheek. Rays of light suddenly came across the desolate city as the sun poked its welcoming head over the horizon. Andy felt the warmth of the sun on her back as she looked at M once again.
" Lets go finish our mission and go home."

OOC: Thought some character development was in order. Explaining yet more of my complex character. The floor is yours kairi[/FONT][/COLOR]

[Blayze]

"Good, the sun's out," said M, "That should limit the vampire interest somewhat."

The group were packing their weapons up and eating supplies for breakfast. Lee was eating some sort of breakfast bar, with cereal and fruit in it. It didn't taste much like breakfast, but it would do for now.

"Ok team," shouted M, "As long as we're ready, we need to set off as soon as we can. We are heading for the north of the city, which is where the vampire nests have been spotted before. If we're lucky then we should find the head vampire, and maybe even Farel and Taikaru."

They set off at a brisk speed, heading north. Big Ben struck 7 pathetically. There were vampire nests up in the clock tower of Big Ben, and they had partially disconnected the bell to stop it waking them up during the day. The wolves were all gone, supposedly wiped out by the vampires, but the team kept their weapons out anyway. This situation had made them all slightly paranoid. Something stirred under the rubble, and everyone had their weapons on the pile of rubble. It turned out to be a mouse. Everyone sighed and relaxed their weapons.

''Nothing in this world could possibly mend what you've experianced completely. You're right...I don't know you...as for you towards me.''

Could have Andy misjudged him...she picked him as this perfectly brought up man. For the way he acted and presented himself to everyone else...he couldn't have possible gone through harm in his life...

[I]Was I wrong about him...[/I]

''There is more behind my eyes than you realize Andy. I may not have been tortured by others for your powers...but ones such as ourselves never have it right...cause we don't belong.''

[I]What is he not telling me...I know about his arm but...is there more?[/I]

''I had to isolate myself from everyone around me because of my powers. I knew very few people...even when I mingled with the community, my power was out of control. Images, memories, emotions of all kinds flooded through my mind. Something could make a child at that age go crazy...''

Andy was in shock...the man standing at the doorway was just as complex as she was. What lonelyness he must have felt...

''Things happened...terrible things happen because of me...and for that. I will forever atone for them. I too believe in God Andy...''

''You do?''

''Yes...for it is through his blessings that I have become the man that I am today; forgiving me of my sins. As he has forgiven you Andy.''

She was silent...

''I can only imagine the pain that you have endured...I wish I could be there for you, but these walls you put up.............you deserved better. But the past is the past...if you ever let down your barrier Andy, know that you will always have someone to talk too. Maybe one day I'll share my story...'' giving her a nod...M turned and headed out the door.

Andy didn't know what to say...M looked so hurt by her words to him before. She felt torn...she wanted to open up...his words spoke right to her personally. Not as a psychiatrist would talk to a patient...but from one friend to another. He truly did care...

As Andy began to walk behind him...M stopped, not turning his face to her.

''I wish I could take away your pain Andy...there is honor in the service that you have devoted yourself too God. Never let anyone take that passion and desire away from you...''

M turned his head around his shoulder...to take a glance at Andy with a smile...

''I'll tell you a verse if you'd permit me...''

''Please do...''

M turned around and closed his eyes as he focused on the words...''Ecclesiastes, chapter 11, verses 7 through 10...The light is sweet and it pleases the eyes to see the sun. However many years a man may live, let him enjoy them all. But let him remember the days of darkness, for they will be many. Remember, everything to come is meaningless.''

''Be happy young one, while you are young, let your heart give you joy in the days of your youth. Follow the ways of your heart...and whatever your eyes see. So then, banish anxiety from your heart and cast off the troubles of your body, for youth and vigor are meaningless.''

''Remember your creator in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come and the years approach when you will say...''

He opened his eyes...and gazed right at Andy with that of compassion and kindness...''I find no pleasure in them.''

''wow...'' was all that Andy could muster up.

''Thank you...my mother taught me that...now lets go...we have a mission to complete.''

***Outside the Ship***

''Good...the suns out.'' M smiled...''that should decrease the vampires intrest in us for a while.'' as he walked out with Andy still in back of him.

''Everyone...get ready to leave. Grab as much ammo as you can...it seems like the Lycans have been whipped out by the vampires. Hopefully we will be able to meet up with Taikaru and Farel...I'm sure they are alive.''

''What about Maria, the Presidents daughter...'' answered Lee, coming up from behind him with the girl in his arms.

''Condragulations Lee...you've been prommoted to babysitter.'' responded M... everyone in the group burst out laughing...looking at Lee, Maria, at the age of 8 was smiling from ear to ear.

''Look Lee...I think she likes you.'' added Ivy as she walked past Lee who was standing still in shock.

''But M...I can't take care of a little girl.''

''You don't have too...you have your tele-barrier...she's safest in your hands my friend.'' answered Eric at Lee's side.

Carl could only shakes his head in amusement...he didn't say much. But he was quite giggly with the thought.

''Now lets go...we got a lot of ground to cover till we reach the north of the city.''[/SIZE][/COLOR]

OCC: Sorry Blayze...but you got baby-sitting duty. Go all out guys on whatever you want to do...Meggido and Kaiba...meet us either on the way to the nests or at them, your choice. Post to your hearts desire...either with convo's to the nest...or automatic fighting:) Just remember it is daytime;)

Also...do not kill the head vampire yet. I have a nice little twist for you all, and will bring to light the events at New Berlin. Also Meggido...please PM about the Lycans not having hearts. I thought it was a good idea...but what was the reason for it if any. I'll try to incorperate it into the overall story of the paranormal events.

Ivy smiled at Lee and giggled as he looked down at the girl. She slipped up besie him and tickled the girl.
"If you need any help, let me know. I may be an only child, but I like kids so maybe I can help."
Lee nodded and followed. Ivy was tense as she walked through the city, the clock in the distance tolled and she felt her heart pain.
"It saddens me to see a work of art like that use for such ungodly purposes."
She stoped as she found what looked like footprints in the rubble.
"I do not think that these are vampire or werewolf...they look to me as human, possibly Farel and Taikaro...you do not think that the vampires have them now?"
M shook his head.
"No, those are civilans Ivy."
"You can sense them?"
M nodded.
"Right. I'll go see if I can find them...Andy, would you accompany me plaese?"
Andy was hesitant but she nodded and follwed as they went under a heap of rubble.
"Any is it possible for you to use your falme so as we can see?"
Andy snapped her fingers and a flame appered in her hand.
"Thank you."
As they walked hunched over Ivy began to smell gas.
"Andy, gas. I think I have a flash light in my pack."
"Andy searched her pack and produced a flashlight in her hand.
"Again thank you."
As they continued to walk Ivy decided to approch Andy in a manner that she felt was comfortable.
"You can tell me fuck off or whatever you like after I ask you this but...why is that you do not trust people so much?"
"I would rather not talk about it thank you."
"Fair enough, you know nothing about me so you tell me nothing of yourself."
Ivy smiled back at Andy and nodded.
"I do not trust as easily either but everyone here, they are like me. They have abilities that people in the real world would shun us for. They treat us like normal people."
"Only because they need us to protect them."
"Even so. I like the feeling of being accepted. Even if it is because of that."
She took a right as rubble fell to her left.
"Andy...what could have happened to you to make you so against trustng others?"
"Ivy...drop it."
Ivy nodded once.
"Understood."
She kept crawling in silence with Andy following behind her.

[Meggido]

Farel and Taikaru slowly made there way through the streets. Farel blending in with the surroundings so as to scout ahead before returning to Taikaru and continuing on there way. They were headed back to the crash but for some strange unknown reason Taikaru wanted to go via Big Ben. It confused Farel why she would want to do that as it was the longest way back to the jet. He thought that after what she had been through she would just want to get back to the others.

Day was to beginning to break and it made it easier on the two. With the warewolves dead and the vampires having to hide from the sun they were able to move freely through the streets. It had been a very quiet trip, neither person choosing to converse with the other. Farel didn't mind that so much. As long as there was someone else around he felt fine. His paranoia had no chance of consuming him.

Suddenly voices were heard conversing from somewhere down the next street. The two moved up to the corner and placed their backs to the wall.

"We'll wait here for whoever it is to pass," Suggested Farel.

Taikaru just nodded an agreement.

OOC: short post but it's led into meeting up with the team. Someone else take it from here.

[Blayze]

Lee was a little put off by being put on babysitting duty, but he was getting used to it. He just maintained a constant forcefield around the girl, and she floated two or three inches off the floor. This gave her constant entertainment, ans well as constant safety.

He heard voices round the corner. He couldn't make out what they were saying, but they didn't sound familiar. He drew his gun, and the little girl started crying. He tried to calm her down, but then something jumped out from round the corner, brandishing a gun, which was now pointed at Lee's face. He looked at the holder of the gun.

"Farel!" he shouted, overjoyed to see him again, "You found us!"

Farel feigned happiness mockingly, and turned to the rest of the group. He saw the small floating girl.

"You found the President's daughter, then."

"Yeah, and the head werewolf is dead. That leaves one more objective, then we can go home!"

"Well, the head vampire's dead, too. I shot him in the side of the head when I was trying to protect Taikaru. So I guess that means all our objectives are complete!"

"But, Farel, the head vampire isn't dead. How long ago did you kill him?"

"Couple of hours ago."

"Well, we encountered some vampires less than an hour ago. If the head vampire was dead, then all the other vampires would just give up and go home. But there are still vampires out there. Sorry to steal your thunder, but our work here isn't quite done yet."

"But, Taikaru said that he was the lead vampire."

"Then Taikaru is wrong. No offence Taikaru."

"None taken."

"So, I didn't kill the head vampire then?"

"No."

"Dammit!" he shouted. It echoed throughout the city.

"Calm down, man," said Lee, "We'll get him, don't worry about it!"

[Redemption]

[COLOR=DarkRed][FONT=Trebuchet MS]Crawling through this tiny space, Andy and Ivy searched for the civilians M had felt.

[i]M.....[/i]

When he had said ''I wish I could take away your pain Andy...'', that was it. At that moment, Andy felt all of her barriers break down completely. It was as if he entered her mind and said what she truly desired to hear. Her heart thumped against her chest just thinking about him.

" Andy, are you all right back there?" Ivy said, crawling in front of her.
Andy smiled. " Yes. Everything will be all right."

They finally crawled into a cavernous space, created by the rubble. Dust floated around in the air, enough to choke the two women. They both held their hands over their mouths as they peered through the darkness. The smell of gas still lingered.

" I wish this gas would disappear. Maybe then I could give you some more light," Andy whispered, looking at the thin beam of light the flashlight provided.
" This will do for now. Unless you want the whole building on top of you," Ivy replied, looking around.
There was silence for a couple of minutes before Andy spoke up again.
" Ivy, do you really want to know why I don't trust people?"
Ivy turned to her to see a deadly serious expression on her face.
" Only if you want to tell me."
Andy nodded. " Remember when I told you about receiving my tattoo?"
" Yes."
" Remember the priest I mentioned?"
" Yes."
" That priest...the one that gave me my tattoo...well.........before he gave me it, he....he.....raped me...."
" WHAT?!"
Andy looked at the ground shamefully. " It was the most hurtful experience of my life. I couldn't do anything to stop him because I was bound to the table I laid on. I was barely 12."
Ivy looked at her stunned. " I can't believe you just opened up to me."
Andy still looked at the ground. " M.....told me something......something that I've wanted to hear my whole life......it made me realise that I wasn't being a team member....and that I was being selfish..."
Ivy smiled and hugged Andy. " I'm glad you told me. Now lets find these civilians."
Andy smiled back. " Right."[/FONT][/COLOR]

[Akieen Cloud]

Ivy amiled at Her.
"I may not be a conversationalist but if you need an ear to hear I am always here for you Andy."
"Thank you Ivy."
"My pleasure."
She walked ahead and stoped, clipping her headset to her ear she heard that Farel and Taikaro had retunred and interupted the happiness.
"Sorry, but M, which way?"
[I]Close your eyes and let me see where you are Ivy.[/I]
She obeyed and heard him over the earpiece.
[I] Go left then head right for a while[/I]
Ivy nodded and led the way as the flash light began to dim.
"No, not what needs to happen right now..."
Ivy looked around and smiled as she felt the dampness in the ari as they began to go underground.
"Any, there is no more gas, light up our world."
"Gladly"
As light filled the area they were in they found themselves in a large underground stadium.
"Unbelieveable...how did they get all the way down here?"
Andy walked up beside her and looked at her.
"Ivy, if I may ask, what about you?"
"What happen to me to make me like I am?"
"Nothing as scarring as yours. I saw my mother half eatten in the clutches of a beast. My father never really showed much affection towards me, but I know he loved me all the same."
"I see."
"But I was tormented for months after by nightmares of that night in New Berlin."
"You were there?"
"I was there alright...I watched as the entire city block was annialted. But I was never mistreated in my life."
"But you seem so, I dunno."

"I suppose."
"I can't contorl my anger. If I get truly angry I don't remeber what happens to me. I suppose you could say I boarder the insane line. And many of theings that I do when I get that way boarder on the imbecilic."
Andy looked at her and nodded.
"But I never went through something as that in my life. I have a temper that needs to be put in check."
"Why did you have Lee hit you?"
"To make me angery. When I am hit or angered in that sense I can control it to an extent. But I f am truly angered...I don't know what I am doing...and tht Andy is truly frightening."
Andy nodded.
"Lets get this doen and get back to the others...waht do you say?"
"I agree."
They continued on for a while longer before finding the civilans and started to evacuate them.

While the group waited for Ivy and Andy to return from their search for survivors, Farel had propped himself up against a wall. He was thinking about we he had done what he had done. Why he had chosen to rescue Taikaru rather than let someone else do it. He had said that he was the only one who could do it because of his talents but in truth anyone could have gone and rescued her. Maybe he was just making up for losing "her". But he knew that he could never atone for that.

He began to doze off while sitting there. The missed sleep was beginning to catch up with him. He tried to stay awake but he couldn't. He was just too tired.

And then the dreams came back.

[I]He was looking at her dressed inwhat would be her wedding gown. She looked beautiful in it, but she always looked beautiful. They were to be married in two months. Most men would have cold feet but not Farel. All that mattered to him was that he loved her.

But then things changed. The lights began to dim. The whole place was dark and only a slither of light appeared from the lights. Enough for him to see the creatures and what happened next. They appeared out of nowhere and attacked anything moving. They shredding everything. Farel called out to her to hide as he slipped into the darkness, but she wasn't fast enough. Four of them converged on her at once tearing her limbs from her body. They tore her limbs from her body and then as quickly as they appeared they disappeared. Everything seemed as it was except for the mass number of dead bodies.

Farel ran to her body. The head was still attached to her torso and she was still wearing the white dress though blood splattered as it was. Farel picked up the body and cradled the head. It was all he could think to do. Tears ran down his face as he talked to her limp form.[/I]

And then he was awake. Tears streamed down his face. It hurt remembering her. He had loved her so much. He wanted to remember the good times but all that ever came to him was her last day. It was too much for him to handle.

OOC: A couple of things to take note of in following posts. 1. I don't want Farel's past to be revealed to the team yet as I want to work it in later. So Kairi no having M grab him.
2. This is the reason that in my character profile I said he could sometimes be reckless in battle.

''Of course M...we had each other.'' replied Ivy as Andy came to her side. M noticed that Andy's eyes were a lot softer now in complextion...hopefully from there talk in the ship.

Taking refuge beside a bus, the team helped aid the survivors. ''M, how are we gonna protect all of these people...we can't possibly protect them all, there are women and children here...we can't tale them with us to the vampire nests.'' replied Lee, coming up beside M as he tended to an injured teenage boy, probably the age of 19.

''He's right...'' added Farel as he walked back from the wall that he was leaning up against. M noticed him whipping something from his eyes...probably dirt or sweat. Farel looked tired neither the less. ''It's gonna be very dangerous down there in those nests.'' Everyone was now beginning to form a large circle, all getting in on the conversation.

''I agree with Farel.'' Taikaru walking inbetween Eric and Farel. ''These people aren't soldiers...''

''What do you mean...we'll fight.'' declared a civilian male coming into the circle. He was quite muscular, he had oil staind hands, probably a mechanic of some sort. ''Us men will fight, just put a weapon in our hands and lead us sir.''

''Please...'' M waving a hand in front of his face, putting off the comment...''Don't call me sir...second, you've got spirit, I'll give you that. Do any of you have experiance with a gun.''

''Some of us do yes...''

''Fine...Carl, can you arm these men...and make sure they at least shoot in the same direction...'' Carl smiled and headed towards his backpack and pulled out a couple weapons.

''You don't intend on bringing them with us do you M...'' questioned Ivy.

''Of course not Ivy...I wont endanger them...but they have a right to fight for themselves...I wont take that away from them to protect their loved ones.''

''So what's the plan then...'' Lee starting to get himself ready for some action.

M pointed a way down the street...towards a subway leading underground....''thats the way in...we'll set up camp here. Some of us will stay up top and will cover our backs as the rest of us goes under. I'm sorry Lee...but I gotta ask you to stay here...your shield will be able to protect us from any ambush. And the presidents daughter is comfortable with you.''

''Alright...I guess I understand.''

''Dont worry...'' M putting a hand on his shoulder, ''there will be plenty of action up here for you as well...I'm also gonna have Ivy and Andy stay up here with you as well. Please...protect these people.''

''I will...''

''Alright...Carl, Farel, Eric, Taikaru! You all are with me...Andy, Ivy, and Lee...stay up on the surface. If we need your support...we will contact you.'' Everyone was getting psychied up...even the civilians...

Everyone was getting ready...determined at the completion of this mission. Through all the movement, M caught a glimpse of Andy's eyes...focused and strong...her head started to turn towards him...but he turned his head around so that she didn't see.

'Alright...Carl, Farel, Eric, Taikaru! You all are with me...Andy, Ivy, and Lee...stay up on the surface. If we need your support...we will contact you.'

Eric finished tying the bandage he was working on and smiled at the little girl, 'I'll be all right.' he said, 'Just make sure you take care of yourself until we come back.'

The little girl smiled as he picked up his sword and turned to leave.

?Well even though that rescue was heroic of you Farel, I want to know why you did it. Why did you come after me when you know you could have gotten killed; when you know that you weren?t the only one that could save me. I could have easily done it. I am just wondering why you came.?

The camp was all positioned around the people and Taikaru dived into a thought. *Do those beings really have the ability to absorb powers.* She thought of what the werewolf leader said. *He said I had their sacred power. I wonder what my shadow cleaving has to do with that.* The Big Ben struck a meek Ten O? Clock. *The presence of him is still around here. I know it.* M came over to wait for night.
?How is everything going??
?It is doing fine. I am in complete control over myself. By the way did you contact base control? I need to have a little talk to that Red.?
?Yes and there will be no relief until we run out in the open with the head of the head vampire. I guess we must put the rest of it on a platter for Red.? Taikaru got up to raise to his stature. She turned around.
?I am going to investigate something. I will be back by twelve. If I?m not back by then you can assume the worst has happened to the investigation.?
?I understand.? Taikaru was feeling a presence in the one spot she past.

?I felt it right around here.? The smell of gas again lingered into her nostrils. Yet, even in the darkness she found the hole. There was some white fur attached to a broken pipe as she went down the hole.

Five minutes later.

There were screams of Lycans and vampires getting louder as she went farther. A light gleamed in the chamber she was headed to. The hole was too small for her to fit through but wide enough she could see about everything. The head werewolf and, what looked liked and from his obnoxious attitude, the head vampire. ?You petty mongrel. I should have never have seen the likes of you in these caves. I?m sure that you will die down here though.?
?You are the petty one here. I see now that your plans are worse than I thought. The humans deserve to live with a full life. The one you speak of is not of which I think isn?t a full life.?
?Shut your trap mutt. I don?t think your words have meaning. As I say that in war there are no rules and these humans make good treats and obedient slaves.? A small child walked out from behind the head vampire. It looked to be that the child was ordered to challenge the head werewolf. ?Now as to please you I will let the child do the work. You don?t deserve to be defeated by me.? The vampire started to walk away. ?Don?t bruise the meat. Cook him all the way through.? The vampire left and the kid?s eyes started to glow. A field of fire flew around him and a wind blew with the fire. In a circular motion all the flames started to form an orb. It was colored orange and was turning blue.
*Even though this goes against everything we are doing on this mission I must.* Taikaru stood straight up in the hole. The ceiling blew into bits and pieces. The kid fell over and the head wolf went up against the wall. They both opened there eyes to see Taikaru with a sword that looked like it had a life of its own. With Taikaru on one foot and standing with her left arm bent, her left hand against the blade, and her right hand holding it steady, she was ready to strike.

?Yeah thanks. I needed a break from all the fighting.?
?I will never hear such filth come from a human.?

?Well I?? A pyro shot came from the ruble where the kid was barried. It hit Taikaru and she fell to the floor. ?Damn vampires. I am wolf enough to admit I need help but I don?t need help destroying you.? The werewolf leaped towards the kid and was pelted back by a rage of fire. The fur was still sizzling when Taikaru got up. An energy surged through her. She hadn?t felt this energy flow through her in awhile now.
?I know this feeling. It is like when I was scared and hurt a long time ago. The first thing that I remembered.? She lunged at the kid with her blade which was now a deep black purplish glow. Which was then followed by a red glow. The blade went through the child?s head. It then dissipated and the child fell to the ground. Taikaru stood back and went over to the werewolf. ?You need my help now.?
?Why should I trust you? I am the only one left and I need nobody to protect me.?
?Well I need to know about the power you speak of so I won?t leave. You know perfectly well that I or that thing over there can kill you.?
The wolf just stood there for a moment?s silence. ?Alright I will but I won?t be happy.?
Taikaru gave a smile and took her gun out and shot. There was a squeal and a thud. The child crumbled on the floor. She helped the wolf up and they went down the hall where they last saw the head vampire. ?You know when this is over I will kill you??
?I know. But I?d rather be killed by a human than these things.?

?There it is the big underground city.? The wolf said to Taikaru.
?Big enough and dark enough.? She pulled down a set of goggles. ?Night vision is needed at this point.
?I have my instincts. I still hate the idea that I am paired up with a human.?
?Yes but I am a great asset to you.?
?Well now that we are here what do we do??
?We wait.?
?What that is the big plan you had stashed away? We wait.?

?Well I?m not at the biggest scale to tell you that. I just want to say that you can find me later. I will be back at the wreckage at Three A.M. You can meet me there and I will have ½ of your mission complete. Hey if I get lucky I will have all of it complete.?
?Alright but I must have your coordinates. I need at least that much.?
?Sorry M but I can?t give you those. If I give you those then they will kill me. Just have some fun with everyone. I have my plans but they are bound to mess up. OOC: I am finally back to posting. I had to read two pages of posts. This was over only a five day period. If we keep this up we may pass the longest story ever on the Otaku.

[COLOR=DarkRed][FONT=Trebuchet MS]Andy knelt beside a child of barely ten years old. His eyes were dull grey and they scanned Andy for a moment. She was tending to a large cut on his leg.
" Are you okay ma'am?" he said in a thick British accent.
She looked up at the boy and smiled. " I'm just worried about my friends."
" If you're worried about them, why didn't you go with them?" he asked. Children, so bluntly curious.
" I was ordered to stay behind. Anyway, I can't leave all of you innocent people to die here."
" But that guy you like went away."
" Yes....yes he did."
" Why?"
" He's going to fight evil, like Batman or Superman does."
" Ohhhhh! Does he wear his underpants on the outside?"
Andy couldn't help but crack up laughing at this comment. Ivy and Lee looked at Andy as if they were going insane. Were they really listening to Andy laughing?

The boy looked totally confused at Andy's reaction.
" I'm sorry," Andy apologised, wiping away a tear of laughter, " Kids are so funny sometimes."
She did up his bandage, ruffled the boy's hair and walked over to Ivy and Lee. They still had looks of shock upon their faces. Andy cocked her head to one side, confused.
" Are you two ok?" she asked warmly.
" Were you laughing just then?" Lee asked.
" Yes. Why?"
" We've never heard you laugh before," Ivy added.
Andy smiled. " That's because that kid over there asked if M wears his underpants on the outside. I was explaining to him that M was going to fight evil, like Batman or Superman. And then he just came out with that."
They all laughed this time. The President's daughter then suddenly tugged on Lee's shirt.

" Sir, sir....could I please play with the other children?" she asked very politely. Ivy and Andy smiled at her while Lee decided.
" Why not?" he said. The President's daughter skipped over to a group of other girls and started playing 'Ring-A-Ring-A-Rosie'.
" I hope no vampires or werewolves decide to come out at dark," Ivy said, scanning over the crowd of civilians.
" Me neither. Luckily M left us three behind. I think we're the ones that have the most ranged powers," Lee said.
" Yes. I hope that nothing happens to these poor people. They've been through enough already," Andy said as she looked at the sun going down behind the horizon.

Taikaru just sat there in the dark with her little wolf friend just relaxing. ?How long is it until we can attack? I need to attack now.?
?Hold it or you will kill yourself. I am waiting for the order from M that the sun sets.?
?Well I?m going in.? The werewolf went off to the city. In no less then 20 minutes she herd the yelp of the last wolf dieing.
?That idiot. I wish they would actually listen for once.? Taikaru just sat there by her lonesome again. Waiting for the orders to come. It was becoming annoying just sitting there. But she herd something coming. It sounded like the wings of a bird. She looked over from where she was and a couple of vampires were coming to the spot where she was at. ?Oh crap I have to hide.?
?There is nothing else here. I think that was it.?
?Don?t be so stupid that wolf wouldn?t lie to us about enemies. This human he spoke of sounded to be of great power.?
?Well I still don?t see one.?
?Just be on your guard. You never know when one of those disgusting animals are telling the truth.?
*I knew that werewolf would be a traitor and rat me out.* Taikaru thought to herself. *I need to get to the city soon.*
The radio came on with a sound that could wake the dead. Taikaru jumped at the sound of M?s voice. ?It is sunset. It is just like you asked me. Now just do what you are going to do and don?t get killed. End of message.?
?Thanks a lot M.? Taikaru said with the radio off. The vampires were coming in her direction. Everything she worked for was to be put into this moment. ?Die unwanted beings.? She said quite softly. She took out both her handguns and shot both of them right between the eyes. They vaporized into the air five seconds after that. ?Looks like I can go in now. I hope they have a party waiting for me.?

-One hour later

Taikaru was in the city of the vampires. It was a cave like place with many vampires around. She kept ducking and running with the stalagmites in the place. There were vampires from army to vampires that just are like the normal family only that they feast on blood and like the thought of teaching their young how to kill fast. Wondering around the place just didn?t seem all that exciting. Even though that was the case she just kept pressing on. A little while after finding that the vampires don?t know she is there and taking a small picnic Taikaru finally found what looked like the tunnel to a deeper part in the cave. ?Stupid vampires have to make this place so confusing.? There were two guards at the opening of the end of the tunnel. They looked like they weren?t equipped but not to be stupid and come out guns blazing Taikaru had other plans. *Well now these guys pissed me off. If they hadn?t destroyed my only means of knowing more about this power I wouldn?t have had to do this grotesque art of my shadow cleaving. If only they could be killed in one shot. Even though they won?t die they can still live as a piece of nothing on the ground.* Taikaru amusingly thought. *Good they?re turned the other way now I can get them.* Taikaru started to walk over by the vampires with her guns ready. Quickly she put them away knowing what would happen if the vampires herd the shot. She took out her blades. She went right up to them and she was ready. (Hint was.) They turned around.
?What the hell.? They lounged at Taikaru. She took a quick duck and stabbed them in the back making them disintegrate. ?That will teach you to not mess my plans up.? Suddenly there was a shriek coming from everywhere. *I have been found I will have to fight my way out.* Was her first thought. But she herd a noise that sounded familiar. It was pyro blaze. Taikaru ducked back and waited for the team to get to her. Unfortunately she ducked back to sit in what was left of the head werewolf. ?You?d think they would try to keep this off the walls.?

OOC: I am just going to let you guys do what you want for now. Make it interesting.

Lee watched as the President's daughter played happily with the other children. She was probably safe, but just to be sure, he threw a field around all the children to protect them all from any danger. It also added an element to their fun, as they bounced off it whenever they ran into it. They were all laughing and having fun, in spite of the current situation.

There were survivors coming out all the time, any who had used weapons before being kitted out with them. Any women and children were moved into Lee's field. Lee for one couldn't wait to get home. He was dirty, smelly and tired, not to mention that his recently-healed chest wound was beginning to itch like mad. He thought that it might be inflamed or possibly even infected. His head was spinning with a combination of exhaustion and all his newly-discovered power.

"Thank you for looking after my children, mister," said a young woman with a cockney accent, "I couldn't look after them that well if I tried."

"It's all in a day's work, ma'am," replied Lee, slurring his words slightly. Then, he heard a sort of squawking noise from the distance. He looked to the horizon. There was a huge flock of vampires gathering around the spire of Big Ben. They changed their course, so they were heading straight towards the group. Lee saw them and felt dizzy. He closed his eyes, and rested his head on his chest for a moment, getting his sense of direction back. He looked again, and the vampires were right on top of them, ripping the women and children apart. Farel, Carl and the others tried to stop them, but they were ripped apart in the process. Blood spilled onto the floor, covering Lee's shoes in crimson.

He blinked a few times, and saw that everyone was safe, and no-one was dead. In fact the vampires were nowhere to be seen.

"I must be going crazy," he muttered to himself. He wandered over to where the children were playing, and saw them all being happy and playful. He smiled slightly, enjoying watching them having such fun in such a dangerous situation.

Suddenly Carl ran over to him from where he was watching over the survivors. He looked panicked and disgusted.

"Lee!" he shouted, "What have you done to the kids?"

Lee looked at the kids. They were still having fun, playing together.

"They're fine. What are you talking about, Carl?"

"The kids!" he shouted, "They're all dead!"

Lee looked again, and this time there were no children having fun, but his field was full of dead children, their blood rushing out of their bodies. Lee swore loudly, and took his field down. He looked around the children, and couldn't see the President's daughter anywhere.

"Oh Jesus!" he cried out, "They've taken the President's daughter! The vampires have her!"

[Akieen Cloud]

Ivy smelled blood from her distance on the ridge of the north outlook, spilled blood, fresh blood. She knew that a slaughter had been made and she had a feeling where it was from. She took off running towards Lee's area, whisteling loudly to Andy as she passed the West out look.
"Andy! Over to Lee and Carel quickly!"
She ran over in time to hear Lee swear and look at Carel.
"Jesus...they took her. They have the President's daughter!"
Ivy spun around as she heard it, a lout rustle and sprinted off towrds it quickly.
"Andy! Give me some light please!"
Andy's right hand burst into light as Ivy ran with her behind.
"There!"
She yanked a large brnch off a tree and threw it with all her might, a loud screech came from ahead. As they ran to it she saw with disgust that it was a vampire, she had pegged it in the leg.
"Where's your maker?"
Andy looked at Ivy confused.
"Maker?"
"The blood sucker taht made him."
Andy blinked, she could hear the formalness escapeing from Ivy's speech and more toughness entering it.
"Tell me you blood sucking, cold hearted bastard!"
Andy placed a hand on her shoulder to calm her.
"Ivy..."
"Tell me or I'll make you regret the first time you tasted human flesh."
The vampire laughed causing Ivy to strike it across the face harshly drawing black blood from it's lip.
"Your one of the newer breeds aren't you?"
Andy blinked as Ivy used slang for the first time around her.
"You have no heart, you were never human, you were born a vampire weren't you?"
He chuckled and growled opening his mouth wide he lunged at Andy, Ivy shoved her aside and yelled as his claws ripped through her arm.
"Ivy! Are you bitten?"
"No..."
Ivy tunred as her made another lunge and grabbed him by the neck squeezing hard choking him.
"Lemme go you fridged bitch of a human!"
Ivy pulled a small bottle from her pocket on her jacket and held it up, it was full of an amber liquid, Andy gasped.
"Sulfiric acid...how did yo get that?"
"I took it from the weapon vault when I got the chance."
She opened the bottle and put one drop on the vampires face making him scream as smoke rose from his face, the smell of burning flesh wafting around them.
"Who sent you?"
"I dunno I was following the orders of another!"
"Who!"
"The human at the site killed him, he killed him!"
"How did you get through Lee's barriers?"
"I wasn't there! I wasn't there!"
"You lie! Tell me!"
Andy watched as Ivy interigated the vampire slowly, she was somewhat frightened at the new side of Ivy that she had a chance to see.
"Ivy."
As the vampire broke into tears Ivy dropped him hard onto the ground.
"Thank you filthy vermin."
She took the shotgun from her back and aimed with one arm. He rose slowly and moved so fast he was a blurr, he came up behind Ivy, she spun and shot right through his stomach turning him to ash.
"Let's go, we need to contact M."
Andy looked at Ivy.
"Ivy...your arm..."
"Will mend...we must get that child back!"
"I understand but-"
They walked into the site where Lee and Carl were waiting. Lee looked down at Ivy, blood covered her arm crimson.
"Ivy, your arm."
I'll be fine...contact M. He needs to know what's happened."

''And what about everyone else...Andy, Carl, the civilians...how are they?''

''The rest of us are alright M...but...'' Lee's tone of voice began to mumble...''the children, they were...slaughtered. And Maria isn't anywhere to be found.''

[I]Damn it...this isn't good. [/I] in the background of his earpiece, M could hear the moaning and screaming of the childrens mothers...probably looking upon their childs corpse.

''What happened M?...whats going on up there?'' asked Farel, stopping in his tracks when M did as well.

''The children have been killed....and the presidents daughter is no where to be found.''

''What should we do M...should we go looking for the girl?'' asked Lee in his earpiece.

''No...stay where you are...we're coming back up. Get Ivy some medical treatment and have Carl keep a look out. If those vampires got into the camp without being noticed...they may still be around.''

''You got it M...Lee out.''

''You wanna head back up now M...'' responded Farel, as he let his weapon fall to his side.

''I don't want too...but this mission is getting too dangerous; we haven't had any rest for days. We gotta contact headquarters...''

''Sounds like a plan to me...I don't know what's so damn important about that little girl anyway...especially to those Vampires.''

M stood in shock as he stopped walking through the tunnels. ''Wait Farel...what did you just say?''

''I said I don't know why that girl is so damn important to those vampires.'' repeated Farel.

''I know...'' added Eric...''when I saw her with that vampire before...she looked so peaceful with it. I was sure that the one I killed was the head vampire. And now her being taken back again...its just weird to me...''

''M...'' Farels voice becoming focused and serious...

M was thinking the same thing Farel was...''Lee...Lee! Come in!''

''Whats the matter M...you seem kinda freaked out.'' Lee wasn't wrong, M suddenly went into a panic...he hoped to God his thoughts were wrong.

''You ok M...'' responded Andy as well...

''Yea...whats the problem...'' Carl cutting in.

''Guys...how did the children die?''

''Um...they look like they bled to death M. There's blood everywhere...''

''Were they bitten?''

"what?''' questioned Lee...

''Were they bitten?!''

''I dont know...let me...wait...Andy, Ivy, Carl...can you hear that...'' M could hear Lee talking to the others. ''M...somethings not right...the bodies...they'r...OH SHIT!...ANDY...BEHIND YOU! *click''

''We gotta get to the surface...quickly...'' suddenly a wave of vampires flew over them...knocking them to the ground.

***ON THE SURFACE***

A swarm of vampires had emerged as the darkess of the sun setting spread through the entire city. All the civilians were being picked off...one by one...as the song of a little girls laughter could be echoing off the buildings surrounding the Team. [/SIZE] [/COLOR]

Eric hit the ground rolling, luckily he was on his feet before the vampires came around for another pass.

'M, Farel, how fast do you think you can get back to the surface?'

M spoke first, 'A few minutes, what do you have planned?'

Eric shrugged and smiled, 'I'll hold them off as long as I can, it might not be much, but it'll be enough for you to get back before they catch up.'

'Are you kidding?' M asked, 'They'll tear you apart!'

Eric chuckled, 'Yeah, probably. But, they need you now, so I don't really see much of a choice.'

[I]Does it show that much?[/I]

'Besides, this works out for me, anyway. Farel, you go too.'

'Don't tell me what to-'

'Just go!' he said, his sword swinging back towards them. 'I can buy you time, but only if you leave now!'

They turned, reluctantly, and started running.

Eric turned, his smile growing wider, 'It's a lovely night out tonight, wouldn't you agree?'

The leader laughed as the vampires landed surrounding their new prey.

Andy shook with anger as the team was slowly drawn into the middle of a tight circle of vampires. She ushered Ivy behind her, not willingly of course, but the scent of fresh blood made her an instant target. Lee and Carl also protected Ivy. A young girl's laughter echoed hauntingly through the night air as rips and sickening tears of flesh accompanied it. All of the team could see the innocents being ripped apart, alive and dead. It was truly a terrible sight to behold.

" What do we have here?" the leader of this vampire outfit hissed. " Mortals that have powers...my my my....how interesting...." He stepped forward towards Andy, but more particularly Ivy. He breathed in slowly. " Ahhhh.....the smell of freshly-split blood. Does wonders to stir a vampire's soul."
" And what a foul dark souls there are," Andy hissed back. " Not worthy of living on this earth. Not worthy of soiling such a beautiful place. Devil's creations."
" Believer are we? In God? There are no such things you stupid girl. You believe in what does not exist."
" I believe in Him, because He is the only one who can lift my burden off my shoulders...."
" You speak gibberish girl! I want the one behind you.....the one that smells oh-so-tempting...."
Andy stood her ground. " Over my dead body."
" As you wish!"

With a great swipe, the vampire easily threw Andy thirty feet away. Flipping over in the air, Andy landed safely and looked up immediately at the vampire advancing towards Ivy.
" Blow the thing up Ivy...." Andy muttered under her breath. Ivy was sitting there doing nothing. What had happened to her? She was so vicious earlier. Why the sudden change? Carl and Lee scrambled to protect Ivy, who was in some sort of trance. Lee threw up a shield around the three of them. The vampire tried desperately to barge it, but it was no use, Lee was far too strong...for the moment at least.

But as soon at the thought left Andy's mind, Lee's barrier faltered and he collapsed.
" LEE!" Andy shouted. Anger grew within her soul as the vampires slowly advanced on Carl, who was doing a mighty-fine job on his own keeping the vampires at bay. Suddenly, she felt a lifting on her back. A strange sensation of coolness ran through her body. It felt.....strange.....yet so wonderful....and.....free....

Fire sprang up at Andy's feet. She quickly bowed her head, closing her eyes.
" Forgive me Father....for I am about to sin......"

All in one instant, Andy threw her head skywards, opened her now burning red eyes and screamed, " I have been unleashed!"
Now looking at the vampires around Carl, Lee and Ivy, Andy stalked forward. Each time she took a step, fire sprang up in her wake. This is what she was like as a child. This was the reason she had been branded by the reason. And this is the reason why she fears the Devil.....because she becomes one.

Carl looked about, aiming and firing at any vampire that came closer than five feet away. His ammo was diwindling. He had to be precise, hitting every target with one shot. Any misses, and it would be over. The little girl's laughter still echoed around him. It was distracting at best.

Then, out the corner of his left eye, he noticed Andy walking towards them.
" Shit....why didn't she go get help?" he swore under his breath as he took out another vampire. A sudden jump in the temperature warned him that Andy wasn't normal. He started seeing heat waves coming from the rubble around him. The temperature soared as Andy walked closer. Sweat started getting in his eyes.

The vampires noticed this too. Some continued to attack Carl, but others turned to Andy. She smiled wickedly at them. She held up her hand playfully. The vampires watched in confusion. With a simple click of the fingers, every vampire watching Andy was burnt to ash - the flames white hot. More came to replace the fallen, but this time, Andy wasn't in the mood to be playful. Holding out her two sais in front of her, Andy launched into a close-combat assult, combining her pyro-kinetic powers and her weaponary skills.

Slowly making her way through the vampire ranks, Andy came to Carl's aid. He looked at her with astonishment.
" Don't look, just fight!" she breathed, taking a vampire out by decapitating it. Carl was running desperately low on ammo. They needed the others....and quickly.

Lee got to his feet, and drew his handgun. He ran into the vampires, shooting them left, right and centre. He swung his sword at regular intervals as well, killing himself a lot of vampires. He saw the little girl in the distance, sitting atop a rock, laughing.

Lee fought his way through the vampires, shooting them and slashing with alternate hands. He filled with rage, and as a dozen vampires piled on top of him, he threw them all away with his telekinesis. His eyes were turning completely white as he approached the little girl.

"You sneaky little bitch," he scowled, "You killed all those children. How can I let you live now?"

"Maybe if you can't tell where I am, Lee," she said sweetly. She disappeared.

"Where the hell did you go? Come back here, bitch!" he shouted.

What felt like a tiny fist slammed into his gut, throwing him backwards. Another similar blow struck him around the face.

"How are you doing this?" he shouted.

"I can create illusions. The others in the group have too much willpower to be swayed by these, but you, as you have just had your dampener chip removed, were more prone to my psionic attack. You were easy prey."

"Oh really?" he asked sarcastically, "Well, this easy prey has been listening to exactly where your voice is coming from, you stupid little bitch, and he knows exactly where you are." He fired a shot into thin air, and blood spurted out. The little girl came back into view, clutching her stomach.

"You're mean," she said, reverting to the guise of a small child.

"Yeah, well at least I'm not filth," said Lee, ramming his sword through the girl's chest. She turned to dust, and the other vampires disappeared, the weapons of his team-mates falling to the ground.

"I guess that's all our objectives completed! Looks like we're going home!" said Lee. The others in the group cheered.

[SIZE=1]Vampires began to disintegrate all around Farel and M as they fought their way towards the surface. Eric's footsteps could be heard in the distance, attempting to catch up with them.

''Hey Lee...''

''Yea...''

''What happened up there...all the vampires are dying.''

''I killed the original vampire M, it was the presidents daughter. She had been decieving us all.''

''Wonderful news Lee...Eric, Farel and I will be with you shortly.'' Eric at that moment had caught up with them and stood by their sides as they ascended up the subway staircase.

''So we did it?'' asked Eric...''Is it over?''

''For now Eric...for now. This little blood feud is finally over.''

''So we can go home...''

''Yes Farel...we can finally go home.''

Farel, Eric and M finally met up with the rest of the group. Everyone was cheering for Lee and the work that he had just accomplished. [I]How are we ever going to explain this to the president....[/I] M thought to himself as he approached Carl and Lee.

''Where is Taikaru?'' questioned Farel...looking around. ''she should be back by now...''

''We'll call Heaven, and we'll wait for her...there's no more danger here in London anyway. The two armies are now destroyed...do we have any survivors?''

''None...'' replied Lee...''they were all killed in the attack.''

There was a silence among the group...everyone just got quiet, feeling as if they had failed the others. M saw Andy in the distance...just standing there, not doing anything. Her body was in flames...his fists clutched together, drawing blood from her palms. M walked up behind her, and just looked at her...

''Andy...'' in a calm voice...''you ok?''

No answer...her body heat was intense, M could see the heat signatures of her footprints melted into the street pavement.

''Andy....talk to me...''as M tried to place his hand on her shoulder...inches away though....

''GET AWAY FROM ME!'' she cried, as she sent M flying into an energy pole on the side of the road. All of the team turned and looked at where M lay...and back at Andy, who's eyes were burning with that of the flames of hell.

Suddenly the flames died...subsiding back into the core of her being. As her eyes and appearance came back into full circle.

''.......M...'' she asked...but he didn't hear her. M got right back up from the attack...and just walked away. He wasn't upset with her...just hurt thats all.

''What was that for Andy?'' Ivy questioned, as she ran up to Andy's side. But she didn't say anything...just continuing to look at M limp away.

''M...I uh...I got a hold of Heaven, they're sending a ship right away...it should be here within moments. *whispers*...what was that all about?''

''Nothing...dont worry about it...I'm just glad we're going home.''

Soon later, Taikaru appeared...joining with the others as they rounded up all their gear and weaponary as the ship landed. Everyone slowly got on board, obviously exhausted and fatigued due to the mission. M was the last to get in...but stopped halfway and walked back to the camp sight with a duffle bag in his hand.

Walking around the dead corpses of civilians...he found what he was looking for, and opened up the duffle bag. Grapping the girl by its throat, he gazed into the vampires eyes, looking at its faces lifeless expression. Placing the little girl in the bag, he lifted it onto his shoulders and walked back to the ship. As he got in...Carl got up beside him.

''Why are you bringing her M?''

''Will better explain to the president and Commander Red why we had to kill his daughter. I'm gonna do an autopsy on her as well...and hopefully will find some answers.''

The whole trip back to NYC was dead quiet. Farel and Carl were out like a light, sleeping peacefully as Taikaru and Eric tended to Ivy's needs. Lee was talking to Commander Red on the earpiece...giving an update...as Andy just looked down at the floor, not making eye contact with anyone...especially M.

M just had his head laid back...staring into nothingness...taking in everything that had happened in the past couple of days. Farel had killed the head Lycans, which was a major blow to their war efforts, making them easy for the vampires to whip out. They were all wrong about who the head vampire was...who would have thought...that it would be the presidents daughter, and the Lycans not having hearts....it didn't make any sense.

As they arrived at Heaven, the whole group took in a deep, relaxing breathe of air as they took in the fact that they were finally home. Scientists around the entire complex were applauding and cheering for the teams first successful mission. Ivy was quickly taken to the medical facility for her injuries, as well as for everyone else except M as he walked away from the group, not saying anything.

''Congradulations Team Angel, your first mission was a success...with this unfortunate event of the presidents daughter being a vampire...hopefully we'll be able to learn more about the situation from all your reports. Get some rest...you've earned it.'' as Commander Red went up to ever single individual and shook their hands.

As he saw M leaving, the Commander quickly followed him. ''M...where are you going?'' he demanded, spinning M's shoulders around. But as he did, M raised his left arm and grabbed the Commanders throat, pressing him up against the wall.

M's voice was serious, and threatening, ''If you ever...send my team out into a warzone like that withholding information from us...I will break your knees old man, and leave you for a cripple. Next time...if we need an evacuation...you will give it, because your precious mission, cost the lives of 10 of your men, and almost got the rest of us killed. I will not let that happen...do you understand?!''

M's grasp around Red's throat was intensifying...his purple eyes burned with intensity, focused right upon Red's...M's feelings flooding through him into Red. The feeling of the battle, pain, loss...he felt it all. With a simple nod of his head, as tears began to swell in the Commander's eyes...he agreed.

He realized him, walking away profoundly as the Commander gasped for air. M finally came to an observation room, and placed the dead girls corpse onto the table. Pulling a tray of scientific instruments to his side, as he put on a set of plastic gloves...he pulled out a scapula, and began slowly cutting a midline down the girls chest, breaking through the skin and muscle tissue. Pulling it all away, he exposed the girls organs, as well as for her ribs. The penetration of Lee's blade was apparent...jabbing right through the girls chest, connecting with her heart.

As he ripped away the rest of the bone, he looked upon the rest of the organs. The rest were all intact, unlike the Lycans...who had no hearts of any kind...this girl still looked to be human. Liver, splean, intestine, lungs...they were all there. No abnormal changes in body structure or heat. Only the fangs in her mouth were the only visable signs of her being a vampire.

[I]No wonder we were reading her as a human...she wasn't like the rest. [/I]

Looking at her arms as he took off her shirt, his attention brought him to a large, circular opening in her arm.....as he looked at it closer...

''This is a mark of a shot...something was pumped into this girl...she was truly the original. And the rest were of her creations...the perfect weapon to assassinate the president. To use his own daughter as the killer. But who would do this; a better question is...how can someone do this?''

One thing bothered M though...ever since the day at New Berlin, this new evil has been attacking only humans, killing everything. Why were the Lycans and Vampires fighting each other...both being part of the darkness...why were they fighting one another?[/SIZE][/COLOR]

OCC: Alright everyone...great job for the first chapter. We had our ups and downs, difficulties, and Rei_Man hasn't been posting :( But you all did very well. Take a breather everyone...the next mission will start soon enough. All I ask is to pick one...yes, you get to decide which mission to take next. It will either be ''virus,'' or ''hunter/hunted.'' The choice is yours...take care...
