Rei_Man
Okay. Despite the fact that only one person has signed up so far, I decided to finally get around to setting this thread up. Basically, this will serve the same function as other RPG Underground threads, in that it will be a place where anyone can ask questions about the RPG, and I will do my best to answer so long as it doesn't reveal too much in terms of the plot. It will also be a thread where I will post information on plot details as they happen, along with posting information on events, technology, locations, and Non Player Characters that are included in the story. This can both be stuff that I write, and anything that players request to be included by PM. So as a warning for anyone who joins up, you may want to check back here occasionally. Okay, here's the first batch of information - some of which is in the opening post of the Adventure Inn thread, along with bits mentioned in my signup. In this case, the new information is in green lettering. ------------------------- History: The Bi'Kjra Rebellion - 25 - 16 years ago A violent rebellion in the border region of Rairos, this period of chaos brought about the death of tens upon thousands who lived in this area. Most activity involved assaults on numerous towns and villages, destroying the lives and property of countless farmers and their families. The rebellion was led by a Joa Bi'Kjra and his brother Jhii, members of an aristocratic family that had been removed from power in favour of a member of the farming comunity. Casualties of this rebellion include the birth-families of Seil Nemra and Lunae Nu'khai. Technology: Sacred Amulet - Enchanted Device The Sacred Amulets are the set of amulets that were handed out to the close friends of Seil Nemra. Only two living people know the true power of the Amulets, while Hiuma Vu'oso holds the only existing list of bearers. Only Seil herself, who died protecting the identity of the bearers, knew of their origin. Mage Gun - Enchanted Device (Weapon) The Mage Gun is the latest development of the magic research team hired by Pirya Si'leva, and is a device designed to wield an intense destructive force. The main fault in the design is the amplification process, which, though providing an impressive yield, does not even come close to the specifications provided by Pirya. Once Pirya learned of the Amulets, she realised that they would be the perfect for amplifying the weapons power. If all amulets were joined with the weapon, it would possess enough strength to bring even the most fortified of cities crashing to the ground in a single blast. Locations: Nel'rair - Capital of the Rairos Kingdom Nel'rair stands as one of the most advanced cities in all the three kingdoms in terms of technology, culture, and military strength. The city was originally built in a valley, back in the Raire family's humble past, in a circular shape of a mile diameter. Since then, the city has grown to three times this size, carving deep into the valley walls. The boundaries of the city are heavily fortified, and hold some of the strongest garrisons that Rairos has to offer. Until its destruction three months ago, the temple had been thought of as one of Nel'rair's greatest landmarks. NPC Profiles: Priestess Seil Nemra - 23 years old (Deceased) Seil lived as one of the main supporters of the Anti-War policy that the King of Rairos was preparing to issue. A firm pacifist, she held the opinion that any conflict would cost the nation of Rairos dearly. She held one of the Sacred Amulets, while the others were given to her most trusted associates. A political enemy of Counsellor Pirya, she became a close friend of the King himself, who regularly visited Seil's temple. Records state that she died as a result of a structural failure in the temple, and only a few know the true circumstances of her death. Seil had first met with her assistant Lunae Nu'khai in an orphanage 7 years ago. Seeing the potential in Lunae, and with compassion for the loss of Lunae's parents long ago, she took Lunae in as her own sister. Seil had lost her parents in a similiar incident to that which had caused the death of Lunae's, and the two complemented eachother perfectly, creating a family that neither of them had ever had. Seil also began teaching Lunae in the ways of the Temple, and allowed her to train as a temple assistant when she became the Priestess. Though Seil never taught Lunae about the amulet, she had left specific instructions to Hiuma Vu'oso to do so if anything ever happened to her. Counsellor Pirya Si'leva - 32 years old A native of the Gyre Kingdom, Pirya entered into service of the Rairos kingdom 13 years ago. Since the beginning of her career, she has risen from the lowest of positions to become one of the Kings five appointed advisors - though this is in name only. Of late, the King has been seeking more the wisdom of the temple priestess Seil Nemra. Since their introduction the King has begun promoting a more peaceful stance - one that Pirya refused to support. Over the past few months, Pirya has been plotting to draw Rairos into a war, while at the same time researching the effects of magic. This research brought about the secret invention of the Mage Gun, a new weapon that amplifies spiritual energies - considerably increasing their destructive force. It was one such Mage Gun that brought about the death of Seil Nemra. She later used the essence of Seil's Sacred Amulet to significantly increase the yield of the weapon, and now seeks the others amulets to further enhance its power. Gelia Relai - 21 years old Pirya Si'leva's personal aide, Gelia Relai, like her mother before her, also acts as a liason between the King and the Rairos military. It was this connection that allowed Pirya to draw several high-ranking officers into her conspiracy, as well as allowing Pirya's research to remain hidden. Though her involvement in the death of Priestess Seil weighs heavily on her soul, she continues to serve Pirya faithfully. His Majesty, Denel Raire VII - 54 years old Until recently, with his introduction the Seil Nemra, the King had always kept his military well organised and supplied. Though he did not intend to engage in war with with the Kingdoms of Dhan're and Gyre, he wanted to make the impression that his forces could, and would, retaliate against any force that dared to attack Rairos. However, after he began taking advice from Seil, he began to disarm his military forces, and prepared to sign a permanent peace treaty with the other Kingdoms. Unfortunately, this move caused great animosity to spread through the Rairos military, giving Pirya the chance she needed to gain allies within its ranks. King Raire is currently entering the final stages of the negotiation process - but whether he will suceed before Pirya can interfere is uncertain. General N'ayko Deile - 47 years old One of Pirya Si'leva's strongest supporters in the Rairos military, he commands a legion of soldiers in a small town near the border between Rairos and Dhan're. This places him in the ideal location for launching on assault on the neighboring Kingdom, which would, as Pirya planned, most likely lead to a full-scale war - a war in which Rairos would emerge victorious. General N'ayko cares as little for the people of the town as he does for his soldiers, and so gladly offered his troops to Pirya's cause - on the condition that he be able to return to Nel'rair on the eve of battle. Hiuma Vu'oso - 27 years old A friend of Seil Nemra from their earlier years, Hiuma is the only person that Seil has trusted with the list of Amulet bearers. He is also one of only two people other then the deceased Priestess who understood the full extent of the Amulets' power. After the death of his close friend, Hiuma fell into despair, and had been close to suicide at the time that Lunae Nu'khai had shown up at his door. Fortunately, Hiuma had kept in contact with Seil over the years, and so knew of Lunae and the Amulet that she carried. For the three months after Seil's death, Hiuma devoted his every waking hour to teaching Lunae about the amulets, as Seil would have wanted, and sent out a summons letter to all of the others on his list. ----------------------------- :babble: I'd say that about does it for now.
