I see alot of people on the East Side mostly. But there's nothing two special about my town take a look for yourself. Welcome to California

- I live like 45 mins from San Francisco
I just went to a concert there awhile ago, theres clubs, fun things to do, etc. It may not sound like much, but from living in the suburbs, the streets of this city actually make for some good times. Plus China Town is always fun.

- We have two malls
One for older people, and one for where most younger people go. It's like a zoo. I'm not a big fan of the mall, but thats where most people my age hang out and be mall rats so why not stick it in here.

- We're known as the Wine County
Hey I live near Napa so that obviously means what else? Wine tasting! and lots of it. Alot of old people live where I am, so what do they do? what else, drink wine. Sucks for me, I'm too young to drink.

And that is basically it. Woo hoo. Oh did I mention there are lots of yogurt stories? yes we like our frozen yogurt. yum. All these towns listed seem a whole lot more fun then mine ^^

I go there every summer to hang out and run around for like a week or so. Allegany State is awesome too, you can go rock climbing on Thunder Rock, if you can do it without equipment that is...

In this town called Gowanda, there's this place called the "40's". It's a part of the Cattaraugus River that has some fast rapids, waterfalls, and small trenches. It's a cool place to go if you want to take some risks, but people have died there in the past.

I'm from a small Eastern Massachusetts town called Reading. It's not to fancy, but we try. It's about thirty minutes from Boston, so that's a plus. We don't have many famous land marks, except for the old church in town square. It's been there since...the revolutionary war, I think. Recently, our hometown put up a Home Depot, a Chili's Resturant, and a Jordan's Furichure. The Jordan's is amazing. The first floor has all these famous Boston landmarks made out of Jelly Belly Beans. Hence the nickname for Boston, "Beantown." And their all in full size. They also have a replica of the famous "Green Monster" from Fenway Park. It's made all out of dark green jely beans. There's also an ice creame parlor, and a candy shop, a '50's style resturant, and a trapeeze all on the first floor. How cool is that? Upstairs is an IMAX theater. :D :animesmil :D :animesmil Plus furnicher on sale on the top three floors. I need a new couch for our basement playroom. A big one. And a comfy chair. That's my hometown.

"KAMEHAMEHA!"

I just remembered who's buried in Mt Hope Cemetary Frederic Douglass and Susan B. Anthony.

Yeah an escaped slave who became one of the most famous abolitionists of all time and a woman who the 19th amendment was named after.

Frederic Douglass Escaped from slaver and (I forgot when) in the 1800's started a paper called the North Star in Rochester New York. He taught himself to read and write secretly when he was a slave. He's buried in the old section of Mt. Hope and there's a big memorial where he's buried.

Susan B. Anthony Tried to vote in an electionalong with 3 other women in Rochester back in the 1850's and was arrested. Her house still stands in the city and is a historical site. Ms. Anthony is buried in a smaller plot than Frederic Douglass but there is a small wrought iron bench infront of her headstone.

Seneca Falls This small town is about an hour's drive East of where i live. This town was the site of the Women's Sufferage meeting in 1848 which had such speakers as Elizabeth Cady Stanton and SUsan B Anthony. There is a museum dedicated to this weekend and the Women's sufferage movement.

That's all I can think of for now

What's so special about Grand Forks AFB?

Besides all the KC-135s taking off and it being quite possibly the flattest place on the face of the planet, nothing. North Dakota, however, has a statelaw saying everything has to close by 11:30 pm on Saturday Nights. EVERYTHING. Even the 1 or 2 clubs in the area......

What's special about London?

You can get into a black cab (one from decades ago if it tickles your fancy), and drive around to see places like the Royal Albert Hall, Trafalgar Square, the Houses of Parliament, just to name a few. Following the river can lead you to the Tate gallery, but if you want something a bit smaller scale you could go to the Serpentine that resides in a seemingly random location within Hyde Park.

Speaking of which, I love all the parks we have here. Hardly an accomplishment if you didn't happen to live in this smog-filled package of joy, but nice places nonetheless. Considering they are normally plots of land owned by the Queen and her many cronies, they're regularly paid attention to and for some reason manage to not get overcrowded during the warmer seasons.

Primrose Hill has incredible views at night time - the top allows you to see some breathtaking sunrise and sunsets. You can row in Regent's Park or just stroll through it, still being able to jump back into the hustle if you want, at any number of different places. There's Hampstead Heath, a large piece of nearly untouched woodland that happily sits in between quite a few parts of the city. It's incredibly easy to get lost in, and lots of fun to explore.

After all that, one of the places that's most special to me is Camden. You can be strolling through a seemingly 'normal' part of it one second, the next you're surrounded by all different types of people, stalls, food and strange dance-inducing music. You can buy anything from bondage gear to noodles; watch an impromptu gig set up in the Lock, or go to one later in the evening in one of the many venues there. The atmosphere never seems to leave the place, day or night.

That, to me, is what's special about London.

What's so special about La Puente?

Our name is gramatically incorrect. It translates to 'the bridge' but bridge is a masculine term in Spanish, so it should be El Puente, instead (though La Puente sounds about a million times better). I always find that amusing that in a town predominantly made up of Latinos, the name of the town isn't in the correct form of Spanish. Our town's website (yes, we have a website) says that the name means 'the bridge' in old Spanish, so I guess bridge is a feminine term in old Spanish. Whatever.

Also, it hasn't snowed in this area for almost one-hundred years.

Oooh! Cool! Trafalgar Square is on our Monopoly board! *Coughs* anyways what's special about where I live? Hmm Well I live in the nation?s capital area place? so I guess that?s worth mentioning? but stuff that?s really close? Well we have the tiniest library in the county right down the street. And though it sucks that the library is so small it?s one of the only things within walking distance that we don?t have to cross busy Fort Hunt Road to get to. Hmm? we?ve got George Washington?s house down the Park Way? I suppose that?s worth mentioning. Oh! And a very big road known as Route 1 passes right by us. And we?ve got the dirty Potomac right by us? which means we can see into another state! If we just get on our boat and go out into the river were in a different state! How cool is that? (Not very.)

Things that are not as close by but still deserve mentioning: AS stated before we are right by the nations capital known as DC. We have big airports such as the Reagan National and Dulles Airport not too far away. Then there?s the fact that when we had that thread about ?where do you live?? Two or three people actually live near by! I count five people who live somewhat close by! Yay

Oh! And congratulate me! This is my 50th post!!! And though that?s not much it?s halfway to 100 hundred and a big step for a shy person like me!

I live in Miami. We have lots of hobos and naked people on the beach. Sometimes, if you're lucky, naked hobos on the beach.

What I like about Miami the most is the night life. There's always something going on somewhere so it's easy to find a place to party. If I were the type of person that was constantly partying than that would be great, but at least when I am in the mood to do something I know can. Also, for the most part, the people are pretty laid back. There's no rush of business people down town over crowding you and trampling you in an effort to get to work so that's nice. When I go to NY I'm always amazed at how much faster my cousins walk than I do heh. So yea, it's a relax in the day party all night long type of town and the best beach is not South Beach, contrary to popular oppinion. Hallindale is where it's at, baby.
Nothing. I live in TN, in the US. The town I live in is so small and dull, I wish I lived in Ireland.
Yeah, we Irish are pretty amazing . . .
Sure only last night, wasn't I out hunting leprechauns with me pitchfork?

Actually . . . come to think of it, Ireland's kinda boring too. It's become a real . . . generic concrete jungle. There are even plans to plow through the Hill of Tara to make a bypass. Is nothing sacred? :(

I live in New Orleans (which I've said a zillion times before :animestun ) What's special about it? Let's see, this could be quite a list:

Mardi Gras: Okay for those of you who've been living under a rock and don't know what this holiday is, it's celebrated on the day before Ash Wednesday, which starts the Catholic fasting season of Lent. Mardi Gras, or Fat Tuseday, is suposed to be one last party before you have to settle down and give something up for six weeks. In my opinion, the only correct Mardi Gras is the one celebrated here and in the surrounding areas.

French Quarter: This is the oldest part of the city and was once the entire city shortly after its founding. This district is filled with traditional architecture, musiums, resterants, and tourists.

Adubon Zoo: Not too many people know that one of the best zoos in the United States is located in New Orleans. One of ten musiums and parks run by the Audubon Nature Institute, this facility serves as a crusial tool to pubic education on conservation and the preservation of endagered species.

I live in the most racially diverse city on the planet, and the biggest city in the country.

Our hockey team, though comprised of a bunch of obnoxious imported players, always owns the Sens, every season, unless there isn't one.

The biggest Chinese mall outside of China is located in my city, along with what must be the world's smallest little Korea--it's a street. Or half of one. Wai.

This city is home of the most well-stocked anime/manga store I have ever l laid mine eyes upon or heard of, despite its being damn small and kind of difficult to locate, the first time around.

Additionally, the food owns.

(And Azure describes here as way better than New Jersey. Go figure.)

What's so special about Vegas?

Lots of things really...lets start with the general view. Known as the "Playground for Adults" and I'm sure you've all seen the whole What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas campaign. At least 30 million tubes of Neon here, that's an actual fact too. Along with being ranked the fastest growing city in the US, as per 2004. It's beginning to look like the next LA boom.

Lets see, also we probably take in at least 100,000 new vistors a day. This city thrives on Tourism and Gambling, to the point where even the Airport is chock full of slot machines and card tables. Hell, walk into any gas station around here and you're bound to run into another slot machine.

Uh, Yucca Mountain is a couple dozen miles north of us I believe.

You meet alot of people from other countries here. I've run into Japanese, Swedish, Russian, French, British, Spainish, and an Eygptian tourists in my years living here.

Plus, the amount of money exchanged daily here is mindblowing. That's about all I can think of at the moment. :D

Edit: Oh yeah, best New Year's firework show west of the Mississippi!!!

Well, I was over in Jung Woo's part of New York State today and remembered a few things that someone, ok both of us forgot. :animeswea

The Walden Galleria Mall Quite possibly the nicest mall in Western New York State . 3 floors and a movie theater.

Carosel Center Mall-This is located in Syracuse New York. It has one of the most beautiful Carosels I've ever seen. It used to be in Roseland Amusement park (which was next to where my off campus housing in Canadaigua) before they tore it down.

Ft. Drum YEah it's an army base and soon to be near my new home :animecry: if everything goes the way it seems to be going. There's nothing too special about this place. it's about 3 and a half hours from where I live now. Oh wait....The US Army does their cold weather training at Ft. Drum. Their winters so own everyone else's winters. Sometimes Watertown and near by Calcium have the coldest recorded temperatures in the lower 48. Yeah, beat that Grand Forks AFB :catgirl: There are times in the winters up there where you can't even leave your house because of the snow. Plus I think Ft. Drum is also there to protect New York from Canadian invasions. :D

Thousand Islands Also near my new place of residence (I'm trying to get used to the fact that I'll be living there soon) It's a major tourist attraction and resort area. Once you get past all the black flies it's a great place to visit. The reason most sane people don't live there is in my above cool spot.

:animeswea Okay...so I forgot about the Galleria Mall...big deal. It only has two floors, just a correction on Chibi's part. :p I love Oyasai Japan...great Chicken Teriyaki...but other than that, since I'm not sixteen yet, I can't walk around that place alone after four p.m. because of some security violations made by some teenagers.
Welcome to Moses Lake, Washington's Great Escape!

I figure they mean when you are here it is a "great escape" when you can get away! My little hometown of Moses Lake is pretty much in the center of the state of Washington. Unlike what many people think of the "Evergreen State" we do not have trees. We are also known as "The Desert Oasis". Sagebrush and scrub land is pretty much what we have here. Moses Lake is very popular for it's warm weather and great activities for the outdoorsman. Fishing, hunting, rock climbing, water sports, sand dunes for ATVs...if you like being in the outdoors there is plenty to do here.

-Mostly a farming communtiy in this rural area. Lots of family farms and ranches. We did have a mad cow here. It was butchered before they realized it was sick. Of course the place that butchered it also had a beefalo (cow/buffalo crossbred) escape and end up on Interstate 90 which clogged up traffic for a while.

-We have an ill-tempered emu that runs wild near the airport.

-Approximately 16,000 residents. Here are some tidbits about my hometown.

-Japan Airlines has it's flight training school here. My dad works there!

-A episode of the television show "Unsolved Mysteries" was solved here. It was about a guy who "kidnapped" his teenage girlfriend. He was found working at K-Mart in the automotive department. She worked as a desk clerk at a local hotel.

-The airport has one of the largest runways in North America. We are actually one of the emergency landing areas for the Space Shuttle.

-When Mt. St. Helens erupted in 1980 we got the majority of the ash. The farmers loved it since it enriched the farm soil.

-The airport scene for "Die Hard 2" was filmed here.

-The movie "Always" filmed scenes here.

-We had one of the first school shootings here, it's like we started the trend. Back in 1996 a kid freak out and kill his teacher and 2 students, wounding a few others.

-During the Cold War we had Titan missiles here. You can still go out to the empty missile silos and climb around in them. Lots of urban legends surround that place.

-In the near by town of Lind, Washington they have an annual Combine Demo Derby. They take these huge combines that are normally used to harvest crops and smash them up. It is a yearly event people travel miles to see.

And the most important reason my hometown is special: I live here! ::strikes pose::

Well, nothing as exciting as the rest of you who live in big cities with great museums, cultural events and historical sites. Small town in the middle of nowhere. Nothing amazing ever happens here. I know, I sound like Naota from FLCL.
You forgot the isane asylum they have there...at least I think it is there.

Anyways, I remember that school shooting!! Some lady came to something I went to a few years back and talked about it...it was her son that died.

Spokane is nothing too special, but it's pretty awesome compared to Pullman. Pullman is the location of Washington State University. There is nothing to do down there...literally.

Here, there are three malls, lasor tag, ski resorts all around, and a cool place called Riverfront Park. There is a merry-go-round there, as well as an IMAX theatre, rides in the summer, and ice skating in the winter.

Northtown mall has a big arcade located in the basement of the place. There are Go-karts, rock climbing, DDR, as well as other fun video games. As well as a big Cinema with reclining seats.

We also have our own minor league baseball team, and hockey team. Most of the people go to the hockey games because there are ALWAYS fights on the ice.

Cool bands come here a lot as well as WWE, motocross, and various other events at the Spokane Arena. The Globetrotters even come once a year as well as the circus.

Our city was voted as the 'All-American City' as well.

There are also really pretty well kept parks located all over the city.

My mom said that cities just go buy those. Buffalo, Syracuse and Rochester NY all have those too. Buffalo's 'All American City' sign is on I-90 as soon as you enter the city limits.

Nothing against you or your city, it's just that I thik every city in the US has one of those. Except for Killeen, but they're already pretty all american since they have the largest military base in the free world. Yes folks, Ft. Hood was the coolest thing about where I used to live. Unless you counted route 195 which took you to Austin

What's special about Oregon?

There are several things, in fact, that are interesting about Oregon. I've lived here since I was born and since then, I've always said that it was one of the most boring places to be, but it must be because I have no car and I usually take the MAX and bus. Anywho, here are some things that I like about Oregon.

The beaches- Several of the beaches here are just beautiful. Someone told me that California beaches are nothing compared to Oregon beaches, which is difficult for me to believe. But although the beaches are cold and the weather is misty, it's still really nice and a place that's great to get away to.

Portland- One awesome place to be, but too many "gangsters" walking around talking about "Shoot him, shot her, banged her, beat him" and all that shiz-nit that they talk about. Excluding that, Portland is a really nice place to be. There's uptown Portland, which is a grand place filled with restraunts and stores. Downtown, Portland is nice too, because it has the waterfront and malls.

Mt. Hood and other mountains- All of these mountains are dormant volcanoes and these are places that the Oregonians are able to go up to and spend time doing what we love in the snow.

Expo Center- At the Expo Center we have several car shows and other spectacular inventory type things. Sorry, but the only thing I know about the Expo Center is the car shows and the breakdancers.

Rose Garden Arena- This is where a lot of things happen. We have concerts, basketball games, circuses, and several other events.

Portland Trail Blazers- Yes, yes, the drugee ballers are here at Portland Oregon. But it doesn't mean that I don't got no love for them.

Universities- We have several universities, one of which Phil Knight is a fouder of or something like that. The University that I want to go to is U of O! GO DUCKS!

Nike Stores- Phil Knight is all I can say.

Malls- My favorite thing to do is go to the mall and chill with my friends. I LOVE going to the mall, even if I don't have anything to do or if I don't have any money.
I'm pretty sure I have left several things out, but if I remember, I'll put it down.

Well I live in Utah, and what makes it special is it's home to 5 National Parks. I live less than a 3 hour drive from 5 parks.

Arches
Canyonlands
Capitol Reef
Bryce
Zions

And if you love parks it's within 6 hours of other great parks like

Yellowstone National Park
Grand Canyon
Great Bend

So if your are the type that loves to hike then Utah is definatly one of the places to be :animesmil
