ChibiHorsewoman
Well, there's not a thread up yet on the subject yet and I figured since today is the big day I figured I'd make one. This is simply a thread to discuss super bowl moments and memories. Maybe a party you attended or a moment of the game you remember very well. Just not the Wardrobe malfunction, that is sooo old. Also you should cast your vote on who you think will win...:D. Heck, if you want you can even say how much and what the score will be. As for me. One of my favorite Super Bowl party moments is the one my senior year when I went to a party at a friend's house...I think the Broncos won that year. After the game was over we watched a Vegitales video and started singing along to the Water buffalo song. That was pretty fun.... I think the Eagles will win but it will be close...33-29 or something around there. But the Eagles are my perference since my brother-in-law lives in Philly. Ok, everyone else jump on my band wagon.
Charles
I'm a huge Eagles fan; they're the home team. The Philadelphia/South Jersey area has been waiting for a successful football season for as long as I've been alive. After three disappointing years of coming oh so close , I'm glad the Birds finally got over the hump. I actually had to work during the NFC Championship game. A couple of the guys and I were huddled around portable television hooting and hollaring before the store closed early and we were sent home anyway. I purposely put in a request to work the morning shift today just so that I could see the Super Bowl. lol The Patriots are a fantastic team--but I think the Eagles can pull it out if they don't beat themselves. They need to put pressure on Tom Brady and shut him down like they did Michael Vick. Since Brady's not nearly as adept at rushing as Vick is--it should be possible. Also, it'll be an interesting match-up between the Eagles' wide receivers and the Patriots corners. I'd love to see the miracle man, TO, dance all over New England, of course. Brasil
Eagles down by 3 in the last 30 seconds of the game. They've got the ball on the Patriots 10 yard line. The ball is hiked, McNabb drops back. Trotter is open in the End zone. McNabb throws, but Trotter doesn't get it. It's intercepted by the Patriots. That's my prediction, lol. Juke Box Hero
Patriots have bgasically won at this point. Brady will not lose with a ten point lead and only 7 to play. We have a dynasty, gentlemen! These Patriots are incredible... w0000t! I GET MY TEN BUCKS! Yah---haaa!

My mom took her office TV down stairs to watch desperate housewives so I have no idea what's going on now. I'm also trying to get my daughter to sleep. Eh, anyways I plan on not caring too much...it's not like the Bills are playing.
Domon
Well, the game just ended and the Patriots have won the game. But I'd like to look back at the pre-game show and half-time. The pre-game show as a whole was just flat out amazing, I was really pleased with how it was presented. The half-time show was a lot better than last years (wardworbe malfunction my butt) I really enjoyed watching Paul McCartney. In all honesty both teams played great and it was a close game so both teams deserve a round of applause.
Angelus_Necare
Bets were distributed and I got my share... I'm not sure if anyone would have called this a close game since New England kept pushing Philly back, but that's how they play I guess. The dorms here are alive with noise and I think my roomate is ready to kill me for gloating... All in all a good game and I can't wait untill next year.
Brasil
Well, I'm surprised. My prediction turned out to be pretty accurate, sans the field position (Eagles' end zone versus Patriots) and receiver. Other than that, down by 3, with about 30 seconds left, and McNabb throws an interception. Melissa and my family hate me so much right now, lol. The Vampire: Ed
I haven't watch football in such a long time. I've been disgusted with my favorite team, the Eagles, for so long. So tonight watching the Super Bowl was my first time watching since I was about seven or eight. I was hoping the Eagles could turn themselves around and get out of this yearly let down when they always came so close to getting the "big win" to only lose. Well, although I was still routing for them, as soon as I heard they were going to the Super Bowl I said they were going to just lose it and disappoint their fans again and to no one's surprise in my family they did just that. The Eagles are losers. And, McNabb, that screw up threw two interceptions when the Eagles needed to score the most. He's boasted about so much, and he screws up so badly. Well, he fits in with the rest of his team that's for sure. The tradition of Eagles dissapointing their fans live on!
Charles
Eh, anyways I plan on not caring too much...it's not like the Bills are playing.
Don't worry. They won't be playing at this point for a long time either. I'm very disappointed but it was a great game and I'm certain that the Eagles will be in the Super Bowl again next year. They're easily the best team in the NFC and only lost because of McNabb playing sloppy football--and because they weren't able to establish a solid running game. I have to give major props to Owens though. It was simply amazing what he was able to accomplish given his physical condition. Brasil
Charles, I think it was more than just McNabb and the running game, though. In fact, I really don't think the loss was due to sloppy playing at all. Yes, the Eagles were getting out-played (Skill-wise, certainly. They didn't play well at all compared to previous games.), but I more think they lost because they were getting out-strategerized. The Patriots were always a few steps (or plays, heh) ahead of the Eagles throughout much of the game, and especially in the 2nd half. Brady and the offensive line read nearly every single blitz and adjusted accordingly. The tactics of Trotter really put a damper on the Eagles D line, I'd say. In previous games, Trotter would move up like that before the snap then barrel through the line to really threaten the QB. That wasn't happening not because Trotter wasn't playing well, because he was (I'm not saying you were saying anything like that, just making an observation.). That wasn't happening because Brady saw it coming, staggered the count to throw the D off-balance, then changed the play to counter the blitz. Some of the various slant plays later in the game are also testament to this, I think. The Patriots seemed like they were running a pass play down the left side of the field, so the Eagles naturally covered for that type of situation, and then the Patriots run a reverse, essentially, and have a wide-open lane for a substantial yard gain on the other side of the field. The Eagles were definitely playing sloppily (except Owens...that was unbelievable), but I really think the loss is more attributable to the Patriots simply employing better strategy. Drizzt Do'urden
Now I'm not an Eagles fan, but I am a T.O. fan. (Terrel Owens). I've followed him from his rookie season, through this past season. Now I hate the Pats. Well I guess its not like I was bitten by a Patriot, but I am a die hard Dolphins fan (no comments please) and if anybody is a Patriots or Dolphins fan they know that its a long standing rivalry. So this game kinda hurt me since I do dislike the Pats, and I knew that McNabb and Owens couldn't do it themselves. But, it was a closer game than I thought, every interception thrown was a bad choice made by McNabb. Throwing the ball to the endzone w/thirty seconds to go is ridiculous. All that was, was McNabbs drive to be a hero but instead he ended up being the goat. And I know you cannot place the blame on one man, but it helps when you can place 80% of it on him. There isn't a game up here that isn't sold out when the Dolphins come to play. They even make shirts up here that say SQUISH THE FISH! My dad has one of a Buffalo wearing a Bills jersey squishing a dolphin in a Dolphin's uniform. The dolphin's eye are like this :X X and the rest of it is like this : :p . Never underestimate the other rivalry. I know about it. I used to live in Buffalo. I always root for the Dolphins. :smirk: :p Sorry. Anyway I was rooting for the Eagles so although it was a good game, I wish that the Patriots had lost.
Taylor Hewitt
Looks like we know who won now! That's 3 in 4 years. Not bad if you ask me.
