Dragon Warrior
Well, it was on after the Super Bowl and even if it was only a preview episode (the real first season starts May 1st with the new season of Family Guy), I thought it was rather funny. It definitely hasn't beaten Family Guy yet, but if it does, bravo, because that's some hard competition. If you did see the first episode, I'm sorry to say that my favorite part was the dog's "dust." The sound effects... ohhh, the sound effects XD Ahemm... yes. That's all I have to say for now. What sayerz you?
OtakuSennen
I think it was extremely disappointing. All of the characters felt like cheap rehashes of Family Guy ones, the jokes were limited, and it all felt like "Political Commentary for Dummies." In its defense, it had its classic MacFarlane moments (Such as Ikea furnishing all of Iraq), but they were few and far between. I'm literally praying that Fox will can this one soon so Seth can devote all of his creative energy to the new Family Guy episodes. To be fair, though, I don't remember liking Family Guy's pilot much either. It could pick up in time.
Semjaza
As I said on GS, I think a lot of this show's problem is going to come from the idea of Seth McFarlane coming up with this idea when Family Guy was off the air and the thought of new ones seemed totally impossible. I heard of American Dad long before Fox ever asked for new Family Guy episodes. It would have been a good replacement, I think... but I don't know how well they'll do if they're running new episodes at the same time.
Billy Shears
It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. It didn't seem too Family Guy-ish, but it could use some work. I doubt it will make competiton with most other shows, though. The thing with Family Guy is the more you watch it, the better it gets. I hope American Dad does the same. It isn't great now, but it has good potential. Oh no, he's gonna pee, he's gonna pee! *poot*..oh nope, just dust. -the one and only

I'd be all behind this show if Family Guy weren't coming back. The sad truth is that he started working on American Dad before FOX offered to bring Family Guy back. This show was slated to be its "replacement," but now it has the added pressure of running back to back with its "big brother" series. Now there's the risk of McFarlane not being able to balance two similar shows without them fusing together. It'd be different if he had done like Matt Groening and made his new series entirely different from the previous one. Still, I thought it was a very funny episode; especially for a pilot. I've heard a lot of complaints here and there that the daughter and wife were terrible, but it was the first episode. There wasn't nearly enough time for everyone to do something funny, especially in 30 minutes. There were a few choice moments: The newspaper that said the Democratic Party was presumed dead. God's phone call. The "terror alert" thermostat. That poor toaster. The teacher and the frog  The alien saying the ET finger thing was a load of crap. The entire country of Iraq being furnished in Ikea.
Grammar Panzer
For stating my honest opinion, I didn't really like it that much. I mean, I thought it would be more improved, and different from Family Guy. I honestly did. Don't get me wrong, I love Family Guy, and Seth is hilarious. It's just that American Dad seems to be "trying" to hard. Also, the diversity with the family members seems to foreshadow Family Guy. I haven't lost hope for it, I just hope it picks up.
Idiot2.0
To me I think that all it needs is a Stewie, then it'd be perfect. I think the two shows compliment each other. But if you like family Guy then you should like it. I though the Duff moment was perfect.

I thought the alien was hillarious. My favorite part of the episode was when he goes, "all I know is that he was a jew, but if you get me some churros I can span that into 12 pages." I like that it was the brother who was a dork instead of the sister, because he isn't so annoyingly emotional. The sister seemed like a good enough charachter. The mom seemed brainwashed, and she seemed to heve no personality. The fiisg was funny, but wasn't shown enough. The only problem I had with the dad is that he wasn't dumb enough. Dragon Warrior
I liked that the dad was slightly intelligent. If he wasn't, then it would be a copy of Family Guy. The only thing that the father is really dumb about is he gets too into things... kinda like Joe from Family Guy.
SpaceYourFace
I think is wasnt good at all, if Seth McFarlane is trying to make an even match with Family Guy, it aint even close, even just as a new show it was bad. It was like taking the Family Guy family idea and replaced Stewie and Brian with the Alien and talking fish. I hope it will get better, maybe it was just a rough start, cause the Simpsons first couple of episodes weren't that good but look what happened to that, so I guess we'll have to see.
