[COLOR=DarkGreen][size=3][b]- Five years later - After the Cylargrian attack-[/b][/CENTER][/size]

Sandon was finally restored to its original beauty. However, it still held a deep sadness within it.

All gardens beared many memorials of those who were lost. Flowers were placed underneath stone slabs filled with names of the deceased, creating a sea of brilliant colours, which could be seen from a great distance into the sky.

Sandon never let anyone forget what had happened five years ago. The Cylargres used a special mind control on those they captured and used them to fight against those who fought against them. Nothing could have been done to stop them apart from killing them. Many wished that day was only a dream...but they knew it wasn't...and it never will be.

L.S. One was reconstructed and taken out into space where it now resides. Able to keep a better watch over Earth and space, L.S. One was created when Syon Desert Base was combined together with Lunar One - a base situated out in the middle of Glandia Ocean.

Lunar One was built by Sayne De Larne's grandfather and Syon Desert Base was built by his father. When both combined, they became a very powerful weapon which brought the Cylargrian mothership to its knees in the last battle. Now that it has been taken into space, it has become even more lethal and loaded with much more artillery for the future. Commander De Larne hopes that they wont have to use her like that again.

Also residing in space, created by Commander De Larne, Dr Kane and his many followers, are the Space Colonies called the Star Clusters: NS1 (Northern Star 1), ES2 (Eastern Star 2), SS3 (Southern Star 3) and WS4 (Western Star 4). These Star Clusters were created for those who couldn't stand to be on Earth after what happened with the war. For those who lost everything...for those who wanted to be closer to the L.S One and safety? for those who had nowhere else to go. They rebuilt their lives, and moved onto, hopefully, a better future.[/COLOR]

Over the five years of peace, many more MechAnimas were created by Dr Kane, for Tournament use - a Tournament that he and a well-known Professor Saith Rayven created and kept a secret. Professor Saith Rayven is a trusted friend of Dr Kane's...

But unbeknown to Dr Kane, Saith then designed other MechAnimas. These designs were taken from the Cylargrian MechAnimas which consisted of T.Rexs, Terraductyles and Sabertooths. Saith built one of each and constructed more to add to his collection. They were vicious and vile creations. Although they didn't have the capabilities of Dr Kane's MechAnimas - moving freely, linking with their pilots and talking to them - they were more agile, stronger and generally more powerful. What he plans to do with them, is unknown, but some people have something else on their minds...

And unbeknownst to all...Dr Kane also holds a secret.[/COLOR]

[B]L.S One - Space[/B]

Dr Kane looked down at the MechAnimas that hr and his old and dear friend Professor Saith created on L.S One, which had now resides in space surrounded by star cluster colonies.

? Well, we should get this thing on underway. Valentine?s is nearly upon us,? smiled Professor Saith.
? Yes I guess we should. These Mechs will be taken to Earth - Syon Desert Base. Everything has been prepared and the stadium is set up and waiting,? replied Dr Kane.
? I will start the announcement,? said Professor Saith.
? Yes. The Commander, General Rei and General Tame will escort me to Earth with the Mechs transported to Syon Desert Stadium,? spoke Dr Kane. ? I will see you on Earth.?

Professor Saith gave Dr Kane a slight nod as Dr Kane walked out of the room.

[B]Syon Desert - Earth[/B]

Hours later, Dr Kane, Commander De Larne, General Tame and General Rei landed in Syon Desert - a desert haunted by many painful memories of the past. Commander De Larne looked out across the stadium. It was huge and stretched out for miles.

? You did a good job,? smiled the Commander.
? With good help,? Dr Kane smiled back.
? UNLOAD THOSE MECHANIMAS QUICKLY,? shouted a male soldier standing on the other side of the stadium as the Mech carriers landed.

Professor Saith walked to the satellite communicator.
? It is ready Professor Saith,? spoke a communications private.
? Good,? smiled Professor Saith. ? Send out the V.M Tournament banners. Make sure the announcements get into all the newspapers, television networks, radios - the works,? said Professor Saith.

The communications room lit up with lights and conversations echoed all around the room. Everything was going smoothly.

? Professor Saith, what is your request?? questioned a man who walked through the door.
? Ah?? smiled Professor Saith. ?Are they ready??
? Yes they are sir.?
? Good. Let?s get to Earth. And remember be discreet. We can take them to the old Syon base post. There are a few holding containers there which were left behind. We can put them there,? replied the Professor. He looked at the privates who were working hard on getting the announcement out.

[FONT=Trebuchet MS][COLOR=Red]Warm sunlight spread across a blue queen-sized bed from a large window that faced east. Two figures could be seen underneath a thin cobalt blue satin sheet. One was a female ? her long feminine body was imprinted perfectly underneath the sheet. Short neon red hair framed her soft feminine face. The other was male ? his strong muscular body lay underneath the sheet, the top half of his body naked. His bold brown hair lightly moved as he pulled his female partner closer.

The female opened her eyes slowly, revealing them as shimmering gold. She lifted herself from the bed, dressed in a thin, tight black tank top. Looking over to her male partner, her heart fluttered.

? Good morning Sayne, my love,? she cooed in his ear. A smile crept across the male?s lips as he opened his icy blue eyes. He looked over to his partner.
? Good morning Sora,? he replied. Sora smiled. They had been with each other since the fateful day five years ago.
? Happy Valentine?s Day Sayne,? Sora said. She gave him a kiss, then reached over the side of the bed and grabbed something. She turned back over, smiling at Sayne, and then pressed a single white rose on his chest. A look of shock appeared on Sayne?s face.
? You remembered??
? How could I forget??

The fourteenth of February. A day full of love ? but also full of sorrow. Both Sora and Sayne had been hit hard by the events that happened five years ago to this day. They both got out of bed and both dressed in black. Together they walked out of their large apartment in the city of Zeron on the Northern Star Cluster. Soon, Sayne and Sora made their way to the Zeron City Cemetery. General Rei Avian had given specific orders to bury his wife and daughter?s bodies in that cemetery.

Sora and Sayne walked towards Sora?s mother and her sister?s grave. She knelt down before them, laying white belladonna lilies upon their graves. Today, five years ago, both of them were killed in the Cylargrian attack upon the Earth Capital, Sandon. Two tears rolled down Sora?s cheeks. Sayne gripped her hand tightly as Sora stood and looked at the graves.

? You miss them don?t you?? came a male voice from behind the couple. They both whirled around ? both of them had one hand on a handgun at their sides. General Rei Avian stepped forward towards them. Sayne and Sora lightened up, taking their hands off of their weapons. Sora looked at her father?s face. She could tell he was missing them as much as she was.

? You both have scars from the War. I could tell from the way you both jumped for your handguns,? General Rei said. Sora looked back at the graves while Sayne looked at Sora?s father.
? You?re not here just for them,? Sayne said rather coldly.
? Always see straight through me don?t you Sayne. Just like your father. I could never lie to him,? General Rei answered.
? What are you here for Papa?? Sora asked.
? Dr Kane and Professor Saith have created new MechAnimas and have organised a Tournament commemorating the attack five years ago. They?ve asked that all original pilots to participate if they wish. It?s called the Valentine Memorial Tournament.?
? And you want us to join? What about Blaze and Deviryn? We haven?t heard a single word since the end of the War about them. We were supposed to be their partners, their comrades. But we were told never to return to L.S. One again, or see our MechAnimas again. We can still hear them Papa. I can hear Blaze in my mind. We both talk to them. They tell us what have been going on and how you?ve taken your sweet time in repairing them.?
General Rei was speechless. Sayne looked from General Rei to Sora. He glared back at General Rei.
? You wish for us to join?? Sayne asked coldly. It was rather thoughtless of Rei to ask Sora something like this on this day. And obviously his father was asking the same question, just through Rei.
? Have any of the others accepted?? Sora asked.
? We decided to ask you two first. And if you were to accept, we?d leave you to contact the others and persuade them to join,? Rei replied. Sora sighed. She was still looking at the graves.
? Sayne? What do you think?? she asked.
? I?d give almost anything to see Deviryn again,? Sayne said sternly.
? And I?d give almost anything to fly with Blaze again,? Sora said. ? We accept Papa. If you can give us the numbers of the others, we?ll contact them.?
? I?ll download it to your FLIP. Goodbye Sora. I?ll see you when you come to Earth,? he said. Rei walked away, leaving Sora and Sayne alone.

? Are you all right Sora?? Sayne asked, squeezing her hand. Tears flowed out of her eyes freely.
? Why? Why has he become so cold?? she sniffed. Sayne pulled her close and stroked her hair. A beeping noise was emitted from Sora?s pocket. She dug her hand into her pocket and pulled out a mini computer, otherwise known as a FLIP. The other pilots? numbers filed down the screen. Sora looked at Sayne.
? I suppose we?d better get this over with. I hope the others join us.?

Sora sent a message to all of the original pilots asking them to join them in the Valentine Memorial Tournament. They were to meet at Syon Desert Base ? the place where everything began, and the place where everything ended.

[color=Navy]Kai walked along the familiar streets, which was her home that she'd been staying at for about 5 years now. She sighed as she looked around, waving and saying 'Hi' to friends that she'd made while living on the streets. She laughed quietly to herself, ending with a frown, today was Valentine's Day, the memorial of that fateful day when the war against the Cylargres had begun, killing many people and destroying buildings. Her parents had been only two of those people who were killed. Many of the others that were living on the streets were also in the same predicament as herself, though some had already been living on the streets.

Kai turned a corner and walked into an alley, she saw the sleeping bag that served as her makeshift bed, the one beside it had a girl of the same age sitting on it.

[b]"Not working, Kari?"[/b] she asked the girl, sitting on her own sleeping bag.

[b]"Nah, not today. You're back early, no business?"[/b] she asked.

[b]"You know it, there's never much business around here, all the business goes to those big companies that have re-built their stores."

[/b]The two of them continued to talk. They had known each other since they were kids, and both of their parents had been killed so they decided to go to the streets together, not like they had anywhere else to go. Pretty much all of the buildings were destroyed at that time. Sure, a lot were up again by now, but those that had been/were living on the streets would in no way get enough funds to rebuild.

She wished that she could have been part of those people that had gone to become pilots of machine animals, they helped save the world, and if she had been, she could have known that she'd done something to help. Kai sighed and lay back on the sleeping bag, hearing ruffling as Kari lay down too.

They both worked so they could have money for food and other things, but as she had said, there wasn't much business in these parts that were known as the Slums, because practically everywhere else had been fixed up. But no one cared about the Slums.

They were still talking when she heard a beeping sound and felt a vibration in her pocket. She excused herself and pulled out her mini computer, flipping the lid open and typing through quickly, going into her messages where a new one was waiting. She scrolled through and read it quickly, when she had finished, she had a stunned expression on her face.

[b]"What's the message about?"[/b] Kari asked when Kai didn't say anything.

[b]"I'm going to be a MechAnima pilot....For some memorial tournament they're having."[/b] Kai replied quietly.

Kai explained what the message said and started to pack up her sleeping bag, which was the only thing she didn't always carry with her.

[b]"But what about you?"[/b] Kai asked when she'd finished packing.

[b]"Forget about me, just go, and win, k?"[/b] Kari said winking.

[b]"Alright, I'll come back ASAP. I'll seeya then!"[/b] Kai finished, running off to catch some transport to get to Syon Base.

[i][b]'I can't believe I'm going to become a pilot..."[/b] [/i]She thought excitedly as she got onto a bus.

[COLOR=DarkSlateGray][SIZE=1]The waves of the oceans were crashing together off the coasts towards the horizon. Shirtless, shoeless in the sand of the beach with black training pants, Ajack trained in the blazing heat of the day.

Jabbing and kicking at nothing but the air surrounding him, he tensed up his entire body in concentration in his movements. His skin began to light up to a shade of red under the gaze of the burning sun. Sweat mixing in with the sand being kicked up into his face and body...he didn't care, he didn't care for anything...even the news that he had just recieved.

Over the past 5 years, Ajack has been conditioning himself to the fullest extent. Stronger and toned muscle growth, he was able to become far more adjile and flexable, not lossing a touch of speed. Twisting his feet in the sand, he continued his reutine for a good three hours.

The ocean breeze was a blessed soothing sensation...one of few that Ajack now felt in his life. He felt at peace here...he didn't want to go back there, not for his sadness towards the war...but because of how much he hated them.

[I]Five year...[/I] punch...[I]and now you decide to contact me...[/I] kick kick, jump kick...[I]on all of days...now[/I] jab jab uppercut [I]why should I bother again...with so much that I lost...lossing what I thought I had gained. [/I] Ajack suddenly just went ballistic.

[COLOR=DarkOrange]Calm yourself Ajack...[/COLOR] spoke a familiar voice in his head.

[I]Why should I...does it matter...[/I] Ajack replied back, as a massive Griffin arose from the back of the house as he calmed himself. Apollo's golden body shined brightly in the sunlight as it relflected off his golden exterior.

[COLOR=DarkOrange]You can't blame them for anything...you all went your seperate ways...[/COLOR]

[I]Yea...[/I] as he brushed back his now filthy blonde hair hanging over his face. [I]And you know what happened because of that. [/I]

[COLOR=DarkOrange]She felt that that was the best thing for her Ajack, she wasn't ready...maybe she'll be there. [/COLOR]

[I]So she just goes off and leaves....[/I] ''What kind of love is that?!'' as he cried out into the clear blue sky, collapsing onto his knees.

His long hair blew in the breeze has Ajack kept his head down, hiding his tears..even though no one was there. For a full year he had become cold and bitter...but alone, he was always battling with himself...never being able to come to grasp his emotions. What to think...what to do?

Then as quickly as it came upon him...his rage, anger, sadness, was gone...calming himself down once again.

''Alright Apollo...we'll go.'' as Ajack got up and walked into the house.

[COLOR=DarkOrange]Thank you Ajack...maybe it will do you some good...maybe you'll be able to be your old self again. [/COLOR]

''I doubt it...but whatever...'' closing the door behind him, he packed all that he needed for the journey and desided to take a shower.

Having the cool water flow down his face and body, washing away the dirt that covered him...he thought of her...Lyu...the one he had come to love during the war 5 years ago. But she left him...no word...nothing for 5 years. Ajack felt that he didn't love her anymore...but the feelings for her...and the scar left behind remained.

And now...being asked to come back. Once on of the leaders of the team, now asked to fight in a tournament, to meet them all once again. But they weren't able to use any of their special abilities...how unfortunate as Ajack had a slight grin on his face.

Ajack stepped out of the shower, and began to dress himself. His typical black muscle shirt and pants, with heavy black boots and weight lifting gloves.

''Apollo...''

[COLOR=DarkOrange]Yes Ajack...[/COLOR]

''Disable the Anubis System, Oblivions and Enery Blast attacks for the tournament.''

[COLOR=DarkOrange]As you wish...Ajack...can you please try to be your old self again...everyone I'm sure is going to be glad to see you. [/COLOR]

''I really don't expect them too Apollo...who cares for little old Ajack.'' he had such bitterness towards them...ever since Lyu had left him...

Then...again, Ajack caught himself in his rage, and sat on the bed with his head burried in his hands...he wanted to cry...but couldn't bring himself to do it.

[I]I miss you Lyu....I miss you all. [/I] as much as he wanted to warm up to them when he got there...he couldn't bring himself too...not yet. This was a tournament...nothing more.

[I]Just calm yourself Ajack...its not worth getting upset over. It was five years ago when she left....dont let it bother you now. Make the best of this...[/I]

[COLOR=DarkOrange]Ajack...I know that you hurt inside...but please give it another chance. [/COLOR]

''We'll see Apollo...we'll see.'' throwing a black dufflebag onto his back, Ajack made his way out the door, locked it, and ran towards where Apollo was. He was the only one out of all the pilots to have kept their mechanima. Apollo saw to that...as Ajack smiled at the thought of it...so much damaged he caused when Apollo wasn't allowed to be with Ajack.

Hoping himself into the cockpit, strapping himsef into the seat...the inside was completely different from when it was first built. Ajack had been customizing it for years. Placing his helmet over his face, the screen showed up before him on the screen inside helmet, making him see everything surrounding him, as if he were out there himself.

''Lets go Apollo...let us see where this goes...'' and the two of them shot off into the sky with a simple motion of Apollo's four large golden wings. [/SIZE] [/COLOR]

[Akieen Cloud]

Lyu groaned as she heard an alarm go off.
"But I tunred off my clock..thats the phone!"
She jumped off and ran to the phone. SHe looked at it and felt her chest constrict.
"W-What? I can go back? I can see them all...Desh...Ajack."
She rushed around grabbing her things and ran out side hoping onto her motorcycle she slamed her bag onto her back full of just nessesaties and then pushed the helmet onto her head, her black hair now had neon blue highlights going through it. She kicked to vehical to life and sped to the air port.

3 Hours later.

She stepped off the plane at the base and was greeted with a large gowl as she walked into the hanger. The bright yellow eyes of Desh lit up in the dark. The growl turned to a whine as he reconized her.
[I]Lyu? Is that you?[/I]
"It is...Look I'll be back, promise, put this in your cockpit and I'll be back soon. Gotta go meet the others. Be good buddy."
Desh nuzzled her gently before she left. She had her motorcycle brought from the NS1 and now hopped onto it again as she rode to the memorial she found that she was nervous.
"What if he's there? What'll I sat to him? 'Yeah, sorry for running off I just could bear it anylonger?' No...the reason I left was becasue I had caused so much pain, just like everyone else...I could dream of hurting Ajack again...so I left."
She pulled into the memorial and parked the bike, swinging her leg over she dismounted and took off the helmet, she shook her hair out which was now down to her ankles and walked over to the wall. She pressed her forehead against it and felt the tears flow.
"I'm sorry...all of you...I'm sorry I left this place...I'm sorry I never got to sat goodbye..."
She took a step back and began to walked down the long wall of names, ones she knew others she had met breifly. She stoped at a certain piece of the wall where the names of the people that were remembered as casualties of fighting were. The piolits names were engraved there as well as a reminder to them that they were there on those days.
"It's like a curse...reminding me of all the death I have on my shoulders...All the blood tht stains my hands...It makes me sick!"
She punched the wall and blinked as she noticed that her anger had gotten the better agian. She was no longer afraid to fight...but all the anger stored from the war had taken it's toll on her, she was now toned to outbursts of anger.
"What's happened to me these five years? Have I really changed that much?"
She sat down on a bench and waited for the others to arrive there as well.

[Retribution]

"One more time. GO!" Keiji yelled, adrenaline coarsing through his veins. He was going at Amatu's top-speed. Only this time, it was with several more thrusters attached to the frame. And they were supposed to be destroying these sentinel pods for training. He leaned forward in his seat, gritting his teeth. He was trying to up their sync-rating again.

He flew through the sky, ripping apart the pods with his talons only, perfecting his accuracy and agility. He sliced through another pod, then accelerated to avoid the residual blast.

[B][I][ Accuracy rating: 100%, Efficiency ration: 99% ]
[Moving to next section... Standby...][/I][/B]

Amatu printed out the readings to him on screen. He felt good that he was getting better. Much better. The next section was going to be probes, but they fired back. It would make things more interesting.

He pushed the throttle up again, to make himself a hard target to hit. All the guns had to lead his position by several hundred yards for them to have a change at hitting. Most of the shots missed, and he flew back fiercly, destroying some just by passing them with such a vicious air-wake. He had improved astronomically, becoming more machine-like than human. He had spent so much time with Amatu, he felt like a brother to him, not just a MechAnima.

[B][I][ Accuracy rating: 99% Efficiency rating: 100%][/I][/B] he read on screen. It seemed as if he had only a bit more training to go before he mastered Amatu.

[I][B][ Incoming call. Pick up? ][/B][/I]

"Yes." He replied, in his quiet voice. He had spoken less and less over the years.

"Hello. Keiji Miyamoto? It's Sora." He furrowed his brow, remembering all the battles the MechAnima pilots had gone through, how much blood he had spilled. He touched his stomach, feeling the rough scar from the Cylarge doctor remaining. He remained silent on the phone.

"Keiji? You there? It's Sora!" She insistently said through the line. He moved to hang up the phone. He had no wish to continue his fight.

[I][B][ So why do you keep training all the time? For the fun of it? ][/B][/I] He lightened his facial expression upon hearing Amatu's kind, true words. He put the phone back up to his ear to hear Sora keep shouting "Hello?"

"Hello, Sora. Are we called to fight again?"

"Not really... a tournament for the MechAnima fighters."

"I'll be there soon." He hung up the phone again, and began a new segment of his training. He finally finished with it, and redirected new coordinates to Amatu's NAV Computer. He would arrive at the destination on only an hour.

[Rei_Man]

Typing away on the keyboard, Dale tried to run the simulation one last time - successfully. At first everything seemed to be going well, but in a fraction of a second the field collapsed. The readings soared out of control, then all of a sudden plummeted into the negative scale. Another failure.

He sighed, and leaned back in his chair, staring up at the blank and unimaginitive ceiling. Researching new technology was always a hit-and-miss kind of thing, so it hadn't been too much of a surprise that the last few simulations had failed. If nothing else, he could at least be glad that it was [I]only [/I] a simulation.

Sighing again, he opened another window. On the live feed from the repair station, Qestrii looked exactly the same as she had done five years ago. Of course, there is always much more to something than what the eye alone can see.

Dale shifted uncomfortably in his chair, fiddling with the black band around his wrist. "If only..."

"Dale?"

He quickly closed the window, bringing up the simulation screen, and turned to greet his work-mate. "Hey Celle, what's...." He caught a brief glimpse of red behind her back. He'd completely forgotten that it was Valentine's Day; five years to the day since the attack. "....up?"

The young woman smiled lightly. "Oh, nothing really. Just comin' over to see what you're up to."

"I'll bet. You know, I can see the box from here..."

Celle blushed for a moment, and was about to respond when she was interrupted by a loud beep from Dale's computer. She used the short distraction to regain her composture, laying the red box gently on the desk.

"Mail, huh?"

"Looks like it. Let's see....." He didn't recognise the address, but picked up a familiar name the moment he opened the file. "Sora....?"

"Who's Sora?"

He stared at the screen in confusion for a second, then turned back to Celle. "Oh, just an old friend." He smiled, biting his lip slightly. "Err.... sorry, but this is kind of... well... personal? It's nothing about you, but..."

She nodded silently, the usually light-hearted expression on her face. "Don't worry about it Dale. We'll talk later, okay?"

"Yeah, that'd be great. Oh, and thanks for the chocs."

"No problem." She laughed, walking back to her desk.

Dale quickly read through the e-mail.

"A tournament? With the MechAnimas?...."

He fiddled with the black band as he read through, coming across a list of all the others he'd met five years back. The ones he'd fought alongside. He wasn't sure whether he wanted to go; he wasn't even sure if Qestrii would be ready for something like this..... But, in the end, he decided to give it a shot. He keyed in the number for the SS3 spaceport.

"Hey there........Oh, of course. Dale Meireson..........Yes, that's correct. Right........... Now, I understand this might seem a little strange, but could I book a private flight to Earth, Sandon City?..........No, a cargo freighter please.......... That'll do fine......... Passengers? No, no. Just me and some cargo........"

[Heero Darkangel]

Sayne was in a daze when they landed in Syon Desert....a place he once called home....a place which held so many memories......so many hurtful memories......he began to rub his arm as he had done so many times after the injections....back in the past.....his arms still beared the scars....of those days.

'Hey lover...' whispered Sora who sat beside him and noticed his distance in his eyes and the way he rubbed his arms

Sayne looked at her, his heart always raced when he looked at her....sometimes it seemed as though he would die....

'It'll be alright.....just don't fall back into cold.....I'm here now,' she whispered, her voice sounded like an angel. Sayne smiled.

'It brings back so many memories,' he whispered, Sora then lent over and kissed him

'I know....but we will get through it,'

Sora was first out of the jet while Sayne followed wearily. As he walked down the stairs he stopped when he saw....His father

Saynes eyes narrowed but then he carried on after Sora.

General Rei was also standing and waiting.

Dr Kane extended his hand and Sayne took it in his

'It is good to see you lad and Sora....my you both have grown,' smiled Dr Kane but then his smiled disappeared once he saw the needle scars on Saynes arms, tears filled the old professors eyes and he blinked them away, he looked at Saynes eyes and noticed that the coldness of them hadn't changed

'It is good to see you two Dr Kane,' replied Sayne in a deep tone

At that moment the ground rumbled, Sayne and Sora looked at each other and then looked around

'There are two who have been waiting for this day for along time...,' smiled Dr Kane as he moved aside and there they were walking towards them....

Deviryn, the dragon mech and Blaze, the pheonix mech.

Sayne and Sora then took off towards them.

[COLOR=DarkGreen]Master Sayne....oh it is good to see you, I have missed you so[/COLOR]. came Deviryns low husky voice filled with joy which seemed like a roar to everyone else

Sayne stopped infront of Deviryn, 'My trusted friend....I have also missed you,'

Deviryn took a bow. [COLOR=DarkGreen]I couldn't wait to see you....I see you and Sora are doing well.[/COLOR]

'Yes, I love her deeply,' smiled Sayne as he looked at her

[COLOR=DarkGreen]I still remember the day you told her.[/COLOR] Deviryn laughed. [COLOR=DarkGreen]At least she's not def.[/COLOR]

'Your never going to let me live that one down are you,' growled Sayne

[COLOR=DarkGreen]Never my friend...never.[/COLOR] Deviryn laughed

'Sayne come on..lets go look at the stadium...blaze said it was huge,' smiled Sora

Sora and Sayne walked side by side as they entered the stadium. It went out for miles

'Wow....it reall is huge,' whispered Sayne, Sora looked at him and kissed him

'Ah..what was that for?' he questioned as he smiled

'Am i not allowed to kiss you when ever i like?' she questioned jokingly

Sayne smiled deviously and wrapped his arms around her, 'Anytime....but you know what you do to me when you do that kind of thing,'

'Oh really..,' smiled as she kissed him again,

'Oh by the way....I have something for you,' he whispered

'I wondered if you'd remember,' she smiled as she narrowed her eyes at him

He then pulled out a small box covered in white material. She smiled and opened it and inside it revealed a white crystal rose locked, it was half the size of her palm on a gold chain

Tears swelled in her eyes

'Don't you like it...i can always take it back,' spoke Sayne sounding shocked

'No!,' she exclaimed as she held it close to her heart and then pulled it away to look at it again, she pulled the necklace out of the box, it was very lite and opened it...inside was a picture of them and engraved on the inside of the door red: [COLOR=Blue][I]Don't let the light go out...for you I love forever....Love Sayne[/I][/COLOR]

Tears rolled down her cheeks and she threw her arms around him, 'Thank you so much...i knew you had a romantic bone in your body....I love it so much,'

'Hey...i'm learning from the best aren't I,' Sayne laughed

He then put it around her neck and she kissed it and then looked at him, 'Where's your rose?'

'Don't worry I brought it,' he smiled, 'Come on lets go take a look around and find out where our sleeping quarters are,'

She nodded and they took off.

OOC: Ok everyone, meet up with Sora and Sayne..somewhere at the stadium and for the new one's bond with your mechs and then meet up with them.

[color=Navy]Kai hopped off the final bus, she'd used a lot of money just to get to this base out in the middle of no where. She put a hand in front of her eyes to block the sun, the light bouncing off her ring. The place was huge and she was in awe, this was where the pilots had first met their Mechanimas. Kai stopped gazing at the building and walked forward. There was a guard standing near the entrance and he stopped her.

[b]"What is your business here?" [/b]he questioned.

Kai shifted her sleeping bag and backpack that sat uncomfortably on her shoulder and put a hand into one of her pockets, withdrawing it, holding her mini computer in hand. She flipped it open and brought up the message on screen, passing the device to the guard. He looked at her and took it, reading it quickly. He handed it back and nodded.

[b]"Alright, welcome to Syon Desert Base. Go through and go down the hall to the large metal door at the end and talk into the intercom." [/b]he instructed.

[b]"Ok, thanks." [/b]Kai smiled, putting the computer back into her pocket and walking through the entrance that he moved away from to allow her in.

As Kai walked through the large hall, she looked around, amazed at the design and size of it. Finally she reached the end and saw the huge metal door, and next to it on the wall was an intercom panel with a button. She pressed it and spoke into the speaker.

[b]"Hello? My name's Kaila Elric, I got a message from Dr Kane?" [/b]she said unsurely.

There was silence on the other side for some time before she heard crackling and a voice.

[b]"Ah, I'm glad that you made it Kaila, please come on through." [/b]the voice said, then there was a rumbling and the door lifted.

Kai walked through when it was fully open and gaped at the large area, and she finally saw the things that she had dreamed about. Mechanimas. There were several, but the ones that she recognised the most were the Dragon and the Phoenix. She looked to the left and saw a man standing there next to the intercom. He smiled.

[b]"Hello, I am Dr Kane. It's nice to meet you Kaila. I'm glad you arrived so quickly."

[b]"Call me Kai, and it's good to meet you too. I jumped at the opportunity when you sent me the message. Ever since the war I've wanted to become a pilot."

"Wonderful! Let's see..."[/b] Dr Kane said as he walked off, Kai followed him quickly and they walked past the different Mechanimas.

[b]"See if any of them give you a strange feeling."

[/b]Kai nodded, not really knowing what he meant but keeping her senses alert. When they passed a bird type mech, Kai felt something and stopped. Dr Kane noticed and looked up at the bird.

[b]"Ah, the Eagle. Is this the one that has chosen you?"[/b] he asked.

[b]"I think so..."[/b] Kai said quietly, being captivated in its golden eyes. She looked over her two toned plummage, then stared back into her eyes.

[b]["Who are you?"][/b] she heard a voice ask, yet it seemed to everyone else sounded like a shriek from an eagle.

[b]"My name's Kai. What's your name?"

["My name is Stella. You seem special. I like you."] [/b]she said.

Dr Kane told her that she had been chosen, and that Stella would be her Mechanima that she would learn to pilot. Kai, wanting to do anything to learn how to pilot a mechanima was willing to do the hard work needed. Dr Kane told her some things about mechanimas and stuff. When asked, Stella opened her hatch in her breast that allowed Kai access to the cockpit. She was told the basics of the cockpit by Dr Kane and went through a crash course of piloting, catching on quickly due to her good academic abilities. It took a few hours but Kai felt she'd gotten the basics down packed, and Stella could help her with any more. Dr Kane let her go look for her sleeping quarters and headed back to his lab.

Kai wandered around, trying to find where she would be staying. She met up with a couple of people in the halls. The male had black hair and icy blue eyes, while the female had fire red hair and gold eyes.

[b]"Oh my gosh, you're Sora and Sayne!" [/b]Kai exclaimed.

[b]"Ah, yeah, that's us." [/b]the girl spoke.

[b]"Good job of beating the Cylargres. Oh! I'm new here, I just arrived today, my name's Kaila, but you can call me Kai. I'm looking for my living quarters and I think I'm lost now."

"Yeah.....thanks...." [/b]Sora mumbled quietly in reply to the battle statement. [b]"It's nice to meet you Kai. This place [i]is [/i]pretty big and takes a bit of getting used to."[/b]

They talked for a while and Sora said that they were heading for their quarters too and offered to show her the way because they were all close together. Kai agreed and they walked off, she told them that she had just gotten the Eagle mechanima and was slowly learning how to pilot. Sora explained that it would take a while to get used to.

They finally arrived at the quarters and Kai found her room, finally dumping her sleeping bag and backpack. She exited to meet up with Sora and Sayne again so they could talk.

Lyu had left the memorial and was now riding down the rode, her helmet on and her thoguhts clouded by the feeling of riding. She imagined for a moment she was back in Desh, running with all her might, but she saw the death there as well and stoped. She looked up as a bright flash ran across the ground. Looking further she frowned as the form of a Griffin went by over head. She sped the bike up and followed it down the rode, holding her breath against all odds that it could be...it went to the Syon base and she pulled on the brakes out side the gate. She watched as the Griffin landed inside by the hanger and a figure get out, she couldn't see the face or who it was, her heart was beating fast and her face flushed.
"It can't be..."
She punched in the code for the gate and sped through cutting, as she found, him off and went into the hanger. She parked and pulled ran outside, not bothering to take the helmet off. She reconized him instantly.
"Ajack...is that you?"
He turned, he frowned. It was possible he didn't reconize her, she had changed alot over five years. Her voice had changed as well. It was lighter but at the same time darker. He looked at her hard and frowned deeper.
"Do I know you?"
She looked around and noticed she still had her helmet on, her hair brushing her ankel and her boots showing, she wore shrots that day. She pulled the helemt from her head and shook her head shaking outher hair. She looked at him and smiled nevously.
"I would hope you know me Ajack...I'm sorry...I'm so sorry...please forgive me."
She looked down than back up at him, tears raining down her face and cheeks, her face flushed as she pleaded to him with her eyes for him to remember her.

[COLOR=DarkSlateGray][SIZE=1]This girl obviously knew he was...she was crying...tears coming down her cheeks. Ajack though felt nothing, he didn't know who she was....apparently she must have been close to him; then he saw the ring...

''....Lyu.....'' he muttered underneathe his breathe. The girl who he hated for years....not saying anything for 5 years, now was before him...crying to him to remember her.

''Ajack...you do remember me.'' Lyu smiled...trying to fight back the tears. ''I....I don't know what to say...there's so much I want to tell you....I'm sorry...I know nothing I say will justify what I did...but...''

Lyu was suddenly interrupted ''It's good to see you again Lyu.'' Ajack said in a calm, smooth voice, not showing much emotion in his face.

''...Ajack...I''

''AJACK!....LYU!'' came Sora running tow\ards them. ''I can't believe you guys are here already!"

Lyu turned her gaze back to Ajacks eyes...she had so much to tell him, so much she wanted to share with him. Lyu's eyes were full of love, and compassion towards him...but he just looked back...empty...hurt.

Sora came up and gave Lyu a hug...taking her eyes off Ajack. Sayne wasn't around...so Ajack decided to just leave the two of them alone to catch up.

''Where are you going Ajack?'' Sora asked...

''I'm bringing Apollo to the hangar...I'll catch up with ya later.'' he didn't even turn around to make eye contact with Sora...he didn't want to see Lyu's face again.

[I]She still wears your ring...........but.....she still left...[/I] walking beside Apollo...they made there way to the hanger. [/SIZE] [/COLOR]

[Retribution]

Keji landed in the hangar, glancing around as he remembered all the battles that had started from here. He walked over to his old landing-position, and sat down on it, and closed his eyes. He tried to forget all the lives he had taken, how his life had changed that Valentine's day, but he could not. Rising from his meditative state, he walked over to the stadium, where Sora had told him to go.

He got there, and saw Sora and Sayne holding each other, and Ajack staring coldly at a crying Lyu. Personally, he didn't really feel sorry for her either. She had just ... ditched Ajack five years ago. It made him mad, just thinking about it.

"It's his battle now." He said to himself, consoling his slight anger that was rising.

"I'm glad you've made it here, Keiji!" Sora said to him. Sayne grinned, looking at him in the eyes.

"At last we meet again, Sayne. I'm glad to see you."

"..hn..." he replied quietly, as always. However, it looked as if Sora had opened him up. It did him good to express his true emotions.

Lyu blinked and quickly wiped her tears away before Sora could see them
"Aren't you gogin with him? I mean you did come back right?"
Lyu looked down.
"You didn't...why?"
"Sora, I couldn't dream of dangering him like I did til I was ready to fight for myself.

"Not like I am now Sora. Anyway, where's Sayne? I know you two stayed together by the neckalce..."

"Yeah, we are. It's going good too. Ya know you should talk to Ajack."

Sora squezzed her arm and arched an eye brow.
"You been working out?"
"Martiel arts. Gym. things like that. Yeah, I have."
"You sure have changed Lyu, look at your hair what made you do that?"
"I dunno, tired of it being just black ya know?"
"Looks good."
Lyu nodded looking back at the hanger.

[COLOR=DarkOrange]As you wish...[/COLOR] Apollo stayed ever patient for the old Ajack to come back to him. He had become so bitter...his emotions all confused...leaving him mainly in silence around people.

Ajack and Apollo entered the hanger where all the old mechanimas; as well as new ones resided. He walked past Deviryn as Ajack gave a nod to acknowledge his presence showing respect to the beast. He looked upon Blaze as welll as Amatu...and an unknown eagle as well lying on the ground.

[I]So...Keiji is here as well. I wonder who else will come...[/I]

Going to the dark, back corner of the hanger where the two met one another...Ajack watched Apollo get on its belly and relax itself.

''Rest well my friend...'' taking his black duffle bag out of the cockpit...Ajack walked away; back down the hanger when he was stopped by both Dr. Kane and Commander De'Larne.

''Ajack...its good to see you boy.'' as the Commander stuck out a hand of friendship. ''You haven't changed much, but you sure have grown.''

''Thank you Commander...Dr.'' as Ajack did a slight nod.

''We're so glad that you decided to come back to us Ajack.'' replied the Dr. ''I'm sure you are well aware of the tournament and the rules that are involved...yes.''

''Yes...I do.'' replied Ajack.

''I am intreged however, to learn of this Anubis System which you've developed during your years away. I've heard rumors but...no one quite knows what it is.''

''Then thats all they are then Dr. Kane...rumors...nothing more.'' answered Ajack....obviously hiding the truth.

''We've been watching you Ajack...'' De'Larne cut in...''you've been quite busy with yourself...it was only a year ago that you finally decided to settle down. You've been all over earth, as well as to the space colonies...working on our new mechanima systems, testing...training; I'm surprised to see myself still in command.''

''Is that supposed to flatter me Commander?'' De'Larne was shocked at the response...''I have my reason for moving around so much...I wouldn't want to be a man like you however; keep your title...I dont want it.''

''Why you...'' the commander was furious...he couldn't believe what disrespect he was shown.

''Now now commander...'' as the Dr. placed a hand on his shoulder. ''Ajack's right...he wasn't ment to be bartered with a title. He's a free-lancer...the lone wanderer is the name I believe they call you. The leader who walks alone...is that correct.''

''Only the colonies call me by that name....sir.'' Ajacks tone was solid...focused...no hesitation whatsoever...even in the presense of the now angered Commander. ''I'm sorry for my disrespect Commander De'Larne...I lost myself there for a moment.''

''Apology accepted...but do not forget your place Ajack. Things have changed...since you've been gone.''

''Oh...'' as Ajack began to walk past them...''not that much has changed I'm afraid...good day.'' as he waved a hand at them, not turning his back.

[I]I should meet with the others...before I train for tournament. [/I] heaving his duffle bag up onto his shoudler once again. [/SIZE] [/COLOR]

Sayne stood by Deviryn going over a few of the modifications that were done to him.

'Seems as though they got something right,' Sayne whispered as he looked at Deviryn

Sayne noticed Ajack who walked passed them. he continued with what he was doing. After Lyu left Ajack, Ajack fell into a world of his own

Sayne stood up from checking Deviryn's sytem and walked to find the communal room.

As Sayne rounded a corner he nearly bumped into Ajack, both of them just stood and looked at each other. ajack had his duffle bag hoisted over his shoulder.

'So...hows it been?' questioned Sayne in his usual mono-toned voice

Ajack looked at him, 'Ok I guess,'

Sayne gave him a slight nod....he really didn't know what to say to Ajack...he was still no good in situations of making conversation...

'It's good to see you Ajack,' Said Sayne

'Its been along time,' replied Ajack.

'Hey look...you were a friend to me....along time ago....if ever you need to talk or just....i don't know.....come find me..although...you know my attitude suck and the only way i know how to solve something is to shoot the one who caused it....although...that wouldn't be good but...I'm there for you,' spoke Sayne in a dark tone and emotionless expression

Ajack smiled abit remembering how Sayne use to be

'Well at least you haven't changed,' said Ajack

'I'll catch you up later...i'm going to find that damn communal room,'

Sayne then placed a hand on Ajacks shoulder, 'It is good to see you,'

And then Sayne walked away.

Sayne walked over to Dr Kane

'So when is the tournament starting?' questioned Sayne

'Tomorrow at 0900 hours,' replied Dr Kane

'..hn..' said Sayne as he walked away without saying anything to his father.

Professor Saith and the Mech ships landed at the old Syon Base.

'Quickly unload them and make sure that those security systems are going, we can't have anyone finding out about these,' said Professor Saith

'Yes Professor Saith,' said the private.

They unloaded the shipment and as they were closing the doors...red eyes glowed from the bays.

Professor smiled.

Sayne took a look around in the communal room and found that it was more or less the same, although he found that there was a gym room next door to it and next to that was the mechanima holding bay. The only difference was that they weren't on top of each other but were stituated just outside the stadium. Sayne then went into the Gym room next door to the communal room, he was working out when Sora walked in

'Hello lover,' she smiled at him as performed a round house kick on the bag and ripped in, sand fell out onto the floor and Sora laughed. She walked up to him and kissed him

'I feel sorry for Lyu and Ajack,' whispered Sora, 'I'm glad you stayed with me,'

'I don't really know what to do for Ajack and Lyu...you know i'm no good with that kind of thing....but....Ajack was a friend to me back then....i told him if he ever needed to talk...to come find me or something...I don't know if that helped.....kind of miss the old Ajack...but...as they say...things do change,' said Sayne as he looked down at her.

He then kissed her forehead and walked into the showers.

'I came to tell you that everyones to meet on the tournament grounds in the morning at 0830,' called Sora as she waited, she smiled to herslef and walked into the shower with him after in was halfway through. She grabbed his towel as he reached out of the shower to grab it. Sayne realised that it wasn't there and pushed the door open, Sora laughed as she had his towel flipped over her shoulder and her arms across her chest

She smiled as she looked him up and down, her heart fluttered as he walked towards her, his muscles tensed with every movement he made, water ran down his smooth toned golden body as she wrapped the towel around his waist and pulled him closer and he kissed her. He took the towel off her and dried himself then wraped another towel around his waist. He then began pulling out some clothes to get dressed in.

'Have you seen out quarters?' questioned Sayne

'No not yet,' replied Sora

'It's the same as our one but bigger,' said Sayne as he continued to rummage through his bag

Sora sat upon the counter and looked at Sayne

'I just hope everything turns out good and its good to see new faces,' she smiled

Sayne looked at her and nodded, she ran her fingers through his damp hair.

OOC: ok since most of everyone has meet up with each other, the first tournament isn't until 0900, everyone and their mechs will be introduced properly then. Right now do what you like until the tounament starts. (happy now Ajack..lol)

He turned his gaze around and looked at Deviryn...''You saw that...was I like that when people needed me, when Sayne needed me...I don't think so.''

The dragons eyes stared straight at Ajack who didn't flinch. ''Oh I understand we all felt loss during the war.......but, *as he let his head down*...no one seems to understand...nor care for me.'' His old self briefly showing...the pain that was caused. Deviryn head came back down....and tried to get a look at Ajacks eyes.

''You really dissapointed me Sayne......I'm sorry you had to be like that...even with Sora.''

***Attention...the tournament will officially begin tomorrow morning at 0900 hours. All Mechanima pilot; please be ready by then to begin introductions. Thank you***

''hhhmmm...I might as well get my things situated in my quarters...and maybe I'll go get something to eat. Rest well Deviryn...'' as Ajack walked away. [/SIZE][/COLOR]

[color=Navy]Kai had been walking with Sora and Sayne when they'd bumped into some of their friends. Kai recognised them immediately as they arrived, they were all famous for defeating the Cylargres during the war. Kai just stood back as she watched all of their different personalities. Sayne didn't talk much, except to Sora, Sora talked to everyone, Lyu was crying as she talked to Ajack, who didn't look happy and Keiji was pretty quiet. They all looked quite stressed, and Ajack walked away, leaving a depressed Lyu. Kai decided to approach her.

[b]"Hi, my name's Kai, and I just got selected to be a mechanima pilot today." [/b]she said.

Lyu just looked at her and tried to smile. [b]"Hi Kai, I'm Lyu..." [/b]she said. The two talked for a while before she excused herself, leaving. Kai just sighed and walked away, all of the famed mechanima pilots didn't seem very happy.

She walked aimlessly through the halls and realised she'd gotten lost. She just entered one of the doors, hoping to find someone that could point her in a direction of something. She gaped as she entered, there were many different electronical equipment lining the walls and there were large computer systems. The room seemed empty so she crept over to one of the large computers. As she expected it was heavily protected by firewalls and passwords. Kai pulled out her mini computer and brought up her hacking programs, choosing the right one she pulled out a cord that was wrapped up in her pocket, plugging it in she let the code run through, biting her lip and hoping she wouldn't be caught, she just wanted some information anyway. After a minute she was allowed access and she quickly went through the files, looking for ones on Stella. When she arrived at the page, there was a very high tech code to crack, it took her a while before she finally broke through, scanning over the files and transferring them to her mini computer. As she was about to get out, she came across a map of the base and downloaded that too so she wouldn't get lost all the time. Kai quickly unplugged her mini computer and put it and the cord away. Just as she got up and walked toward the door, it opened and some personel entered. They looked at her and she explained she'd gotten lost and was wondering where the dorms were, he gave her directions and she thanked him, leaving quickly.

Kai made it back and locked herself in her room, going over the files, she discovered how she was built, her attacks, the elements, her specialities etc. Kai was impressed and lay on her bed staring at the ceiling. There was a message blasted through the intercom telling them that the tournament was starting at 0900 hours and to be ready at that time. Kai got off her bed and pulled up the map on her mini computer, she left her room and headed toward the hangar.

Kai climbed into the cockpit and practised some controls, using her mind to work the controls, which was easier than learning all of the uses of the buttons and levers, and it made her closer to her new partner Stella.

[b]"Tonight we'll go pilotting together. Properly." [/b]Kai promised to Stella.

[b]["I have no doubts that you will."] [/b]Stella replied.

[b]"I'll talk to Dr Kane about it later."

["Kai, I have something I can do that merge our minds and you'll know how to pilot me to my full extent, though it may hurt because you'll go into your memories. You'll see my worst memories, and I'll see yours."] [/b]Stella told her.

[b]"I want to do it, if it'll help me." [/b]Kai said after taking a shuddering breath.

[b]["Alright..."][/b]

A helmet came from a hatch in the ceiling of the cockpit and Kai put it on, it was connected to a bunch of wires and was really strange.

Kai felt a jolt and memories flashed through her mind, these were her memories, memories of the day the war began, losing her parents and friends; memories of her with her parents; her destroyed house; living on the streets; being bullied on her first week living in the streets. Then there were memories that she didn't recognise, realising they were Stella's, the pain of being new amongst the other mechanimas; being tested by pilots that weren't right and other such things. After the memories, she got lots of information suddenly packed into her brain.

When it was over, the helmet lifted away and Kai was left with an aching pain in her head.

[/b]Kai got out and went to find Dr Kane to talk about going out tonight with Stella.

Lyu pushed her bike beside Desh in the hanger and smiled at the Fox.
"What do you say we have a run old friend?"
[I]I would enjoy that Lyu, very much.[/I]
Lyu hopped into the cockpit slideing her bag to the floor and took the controls, she pushed on them lightly making the Fox wlak out of the hanger. Once outside she pushed them down flining Desh into an all our run.
"Desh, can you find a good place to just get away?"
[I]Sensors say that there is an oaisis not to far from here[/I]
"Great go there."
They reached the oasis in about a minute, there lyu sat on the shore of a small pond, throwing dirt clods into it.
[I]Lyu are you mad at Ajack for not speaking to you?[/I]
"No they all have a right to be mad at me. I left, no note, nothing. I shouldn't have come back Desh."
[I]Why did you?[/I]
"To see you and hopes that I would see him agian."
[I]I think we should head back Lyu[/I]
"I agree."
They ran back to the base and relaxed.
"I'll see you toamrrow Desh."
[I]Goodnight Lyu.[/I]
Lyu walked down the hall toher old quaters and opened the door she saw to her likeing that everything was the same. She lay down and looked at the ceiling thinking about how thing used to be... How Ajack used to be.
"And now he's so cold..."
[I]Ajack...I'm so sorry...[/I]
"What have I done to him?"
She curled up and cried her-self to sleep.

Dale stared out into the desert, sand blowing up into his eyes. Squinting, he could just about make out the lights on the old Syon base in the distance. He turned around and walked over to the cargo ship's boarding platform, and pressed a blue button next to the gate.

"Are you sure you can't get me any closer?"

"Positive. That area's restricted airspace; no civilian craft allowed."

He glanced back over towards the base, then at the metallic form in the sand behind him. "I guess this'll have to do then. Thanks anyway."

"Happy to help."

Dale released the button, and the voice cut out. He took a short step back, as the gate closed and the boarding platform started to slowly rise into the hull of the ship.
As the ship shot off back towards SS3, Dale turned his head to look at the machine.

"Qestrii, let's go."

[CENTER]* * *[/CENTER]

The hangar was just like he remembered it, not like there was actually that much to remember. Plain metal walls, a small door at the back, big one at the front. Nothing new.

The MechAnimas were the only things that had ever made it special, and that was the same as ever. With Qestrii set down in the corner, there were at least six others in the room. Dale recognised most of them, Desh, Amatu, Blaze, Apollo and of course Deviryn. And in the midst of them was one he hadn't seen before, an eagle MechAnima from the looks of things. Though Dale felt slightly uncomfortable around so many memories from the war, and began to tug at the black wristband again, he was glad to have the chance to see the other pilots, his friends, again.

[Redemption]

[FONT=Trebuchet MS][COLOR=Red]Sora couldn't stop smiling as the image of Sayne walking out of the shower naked kept replaying in her mind. All of the pilots sat in the communal room like they had done five years ago. Although back then, they still had their innocence.

Sora looked around the room. Darkness was starting to fall. The day of the Tournament's beginning was drawing near. The sound of a door echoed down the hall. Sora looked to see who had entered. Dale appeared.

" Dale!"
" Hey Sora....it's been a long time."

Sora walked over to him and gave him a big hug. He smiled and hugged back, and then saw Lyu, Sayne, Keiji and a new girl.

" Hey everyone." He walked over to Kai and introduced himself. " I'm Dale, and you are?"
" Kai. I'm a new pilot. The Eagle is my MechAnima."
" So that's whose it was. Well nice to see you join the team." Dale turned to Sayne. " Is Ajack here?"
Sayne nodded. " He's changed.....a lot."
" I think everyone has. At least us original pilots. Although its nice to see that there is a fresh new face to join us."
Sora came up behind Sayne and wrapped her arms around his waist. Dale smiled.

" Still together I see?" he said. Sora half blushed but nodded. Sayne smiled.
" I remember that fiasco you two had five years ago. It's hilarious now when we look back."
Sora laughed. " I totally agree. Plus I'm sure Deviryn would have reminded you about when you first told me. I think Blaze said something to me about it."
A strange expression appeared on Sayne's face. It was almost like he was a little embarassed. Both Dale and Sora laughed at him.

" Since its getting dark, how about I cook? Just like I did five years ago. And the same dish too," Sora said.
" Right. I'll go see Ajack then. See how much he has changed," Dale said and walked off.
" Be back in about half an hour Dale!" Sora called to him as he left the communal room. Sayne sat down at the kitchen bench and watched Sora cook Spaghetti Bolognaise, like she had done five years ago. Keiji came up and talked to Sayne as Lyu and Kai talked a little.

Soon dinner was ready and set upon the table. Dale and Ajack hadn't returned and Sora didn't want the food to get cold so she told everyone to tuck in.

Sayne smiled at Sora as he watched her cook the same meal she cooked five years ago. He turned to see Keiji walking over to them.

'Now don't that bring back memories,' said Keiji looking over Soras shoulder

Sora then knocked him on the head as he tried to get a taste

'OUCH!!,' he exclaimed as he rubbed the part where she hit him, 'You know, normal people would use the spoon on the hand not on the head!,'

Kai and Lyu began laughing, while Sayne looked at Keiji

'Well we aint normal are we Keiji,' Sora laughed

Keiji also laughed and Sayne smiled.

Sora put the plate down on the table

'Looks as though the others haven't returned,' said Lyu as she looked at the clock on the wall

'Oh well, lets all dig in, I'll leave some in the oven for them,' smiled Sora.

[B]Sayne and Sora's room:[/B]

Sayne was sitting by the window in his boxers when Sora entered their room. His eyes were distant and the moon engulfed him in a haunting pale light.

She closed the door and walked over to him, she put her arms around his shoulders.

'Something wrong lover?' she whispered sweetly in his ear

'No...just kind of missed the old place...it feels good to be back here,' smiled Sayne although his eyes told a different story. Sora hugged him tighter

'I know what you mean...this place holds alot of memories..good and bad...but when you've grown up here....you still miss it,' smiled Sora

'..hmm..' sighed Sayne as he kissed Sora on the cheek, she took him by the hand and pulled him to bed. They got in and she rested her head upon his chest and they lay there in each others arms.

[B]The V.M Tournament:[/B]

Sayne and Sora were up at 0730, they had breakfast and with their mechs theys headed to the main entrance gate of the stadium. The only ones there were Commander De'Larne, General Rei, General Tame, Dr Kane and someone else who'd they never seen before stood on a plateform which seemed to be the judges booth.

Noone else had arrived yet. Privates were rushing around in all directions

They walked over while Deviryn and Blaze stood back.

'Oh good morning Sayne and Sora,' called Dr Kane

'Good morning Dr Kane,' called Sora

Sayne gave them all a nod of the head without saying anything. Dr Kane then walked down the stairs with the unfamiliar figure behind him

'Sayne, Sora, I'd like you both to meet Professor Saith, a very good friend of mine,'

'Hello,' smiled Professor Saith as he extended his hand towards them. Sora shook his hand but Sayne just looked at it and frowned.

'So this is Sayne De'Larne and Sora Avian, I've heard alot about you two and the others who fought in the Cylargrian war...it is an honor to meet you both, I'm hoping to meet the others aswell,' smiled Professor Saith, he wore glasses and looked around the same age as Dr Kane, he had long white hair which was tied to the back and tidy bearded, he was tall and thin and wore a white coat, a shirt and black pants.

'Well, nice to meet you Professor Saith,' smiled Sora, 'We're going to take a look around,'

'Ok, we're still setting up for the tournament so watch out,' smiled Dr Kane

As they walked away Professor Saith turned to Dr Kane, 'He was the one who you tested the X serum on wasn't it?'

'Yes he was, and still it runs through his veins...,' whispered Dr Kane

'But the X serum only lasts for a short time..how can it be still running through him?' questioned Professor Saith

'When he was younger, one of my apprentice's accidently gave him a high over dose, well over the limit, through the tubes......and because of the fall out him and his father had.....it changed him completely, it left him emotionally de-tached and heartless...until he meet Sora, he's slowly coming around....but....the serum will always keep him like that.' explained Dr Kane, 'and then in the war...he nearly died...so we had to over dose him again, the serum has now been destroyed. Noone else can use it,'

Professor Saith watched Sayne as they kept walking away.

[B]At the old holding bays left by Syon Base:[/B]

[COLOR=DarkRed]A group move closer making themselves unseen by those. They pressed hard against the holding bay.

'Don't worry, we'll get those Codes...and they will be ours....they wont know what hit them. but we will wait...so calm yourselfs,' smiled a man from the shadows

'Yes sir,' the men replied in unison.[/COLOR]

[font=Verdana][size=2][color=navy]After Kai had left Stella, she had gone looking for Dr Kane, she found him after a long time and asked if she'd be able to leave, he allowed her to and told her that when she wanted to leave, to message him by the comlink inside the cockpit. Kai then left and went back to the dorms where most of the pilots now were. She had told Stella about going out tonight via mind speak, neither of them could wait to go flying.[/color][/size][/font]

[font=Verdana][size=2][color=#000080]Kai was feeling quite happy because she'd been introduced to several of the pilots and she enjoyed the meal that Sora had cooked up for them. [font=Verdana][size=2][color=#000080]Kai climbed up into the cockpit and connected to Stella mentally as the files she'd stolen had said would help her in piloting. She messaged Dr Kane and the door opened, revealing the beautiful night sky and the desert sands. Kai and Stella ran out the door in a birdlike way with her wings slightly opened, when they were outside, Stella spread her wings wide and made a few heavy beats of wings and they soared into the sky. Stella wheeled, screeching loudly, at last, after so long, she was flying again. Kai sat in the cockpit, looking at the sky and the ground beneath her in awe, she'd always wanted to fly. They were both excited and Kai tested different manuvers and some attacks, the attacks were used away from the base. When they finally got tired they stopped and flew back to the base. Kai got out and talked with Stella for a while, just enjoying the company of a close friend, wishing Kari was around.[/color][/size][/font]

[font=Verdana][size=2][color=#000080]When it was late, Kai left, saying they'd best get rest for the begin of the tournament. Kai went back to her room and flicked through Stella's files again, hoping to get more information. She was at a disadvantage because no doubt that most of the other mech pilots that would be there would have had more than a day's practise pilotting, she hoped for the best and went to sleep.[/color][/size][/font]

[font=Verdana][size=2][color=#000080]Kai woke up at 0800 hours the next day and had a full breakfast so she'd be ready for the tournament. She was pumped and talked to Stella while she ate, she was just as psyched. When Kai finished she washed up and went to the hangar to get Stella, the two of them made their way to the stadium and entered. The sight took Kai's breath away, it was huge. She easily spotted Deviryn and Blayze and walked over, she saw Sayne and Sora were talking to Dr Kane and someone else that she didn't recognise. Kai decided to just hang around for a while until they were done, looking around the stadium and remembering the feeling of flying for the very first time.[/color][/size][/font]

[FONT=Arial Narrow][SIZE=2][COLOR=Navy]"So this is the place, bout time I found it. Must've taken three days to get here."

Jinn walked up to the reception desk and asked, "Is Dr. Kane in I got a Message form him to come here."

The man at the desk pushed a button on the buzzer in front of him. "Cutting it kinda close are you. Everybody else is here."

"Look I had to hide in a piece of baggage on a ship coming here. Then I had to walk for three days straight, and I haven't slept in four days. When you do any of that call me and we'll do lunch till then shut the hell up.

"Ah Jinn it's good to see you've decided to come after all. I was starting to wonder wither or not you were coming."

"You know you could've bought me a ticket to earth, Hell you could have given me a map did you do any of those things. No! So leave me alone. Look I'm sorry I haven't slept in four days straight."

"That's understandable, now if you would follow me please", with that Dr. Kane started down a hallway. "You know about the Mechanimas right. The ones that helped save the planet before right?"

"Umm I'd hate to be a bother, but could you please get me a cup of coffee. It's all I'm running on right now."

"Could you please wait for a little longer."

"Sure, Okay."

"Kow, if you would please tell me if you get a strange feeling form any of the Mechs."

"Mechs?" Up till now Jinn had been to preoccupied to notice that they had walked in to a hanger full of Mechanimas.

"Just tell me if you get a feeling form any of them."

Jinn started to look around till he heard a voice in the back of his brain. It sounded as if it was trying to reach him. He concentrated till it became louder and louder. [B][Jinn.] [/B]

Jinn turned to the sound of the voice. When he looked up he found himself staring at the Blue and Silver Liger mech.

[B][Are you the one who has been calling me?][/b] ,Jinn asked him in his thoughts.

[B][Yes.] [/B] the voice replied. [B][I am called Leon, are you to be my Pilot?] [/B]

[B][Yes.] [/B] Jinn answered. [B][Yes I am.] [/B]

"Jinn, hello Jinn. Have you felt the feeling yet?, Dr. Kane asked.

"Yes I believe I have he calls himself Leon."

Leon dropped his head to where Jinn could put his right hand over his head. Jinn could feel a bond forging between him and Leon. A bond he had only felt with his now deceased brother.[B][Jinn, we will show them all what we can do.][/B]

[B][Yes, yes we will.] [/B]

"Good now because you arrived so late you won't have time to go over every thing. So if you would please follow me to the stadium."

"Umm. Dr. Kane, you said I could get some Coffee. I really need Coffee."

"Oh, yes right this way."

After Dr. Kane showed him where to find his coffee he then told Jinn that when he went to the stadium Leon would meet him, he then left. With out Dr. Kane there Jinn felt as though he could think For the first time since he got there.. ' Why would they pick me, me of all people to be a pilot. Oh well I'd better hurry up to the stadium.' "Almost left without another cup of coffee.", he said out loud.

After Jinn had been given his coffee he had walked over to the stadium. Where he saw with his own eyes Sayne and Sora. He had to go talk to them no matter what, with that said he made his way over to them, coffee in hand.[/FONT][/SIZE][/COLOR]

Lyu woke up screaming again.
"NO!"
She wiped the sweat from her eyes and sighed.
"That hasn't happened in a while..."
She slide out of bed and sat on the edge for a while before she stood and walked to her mirror she poured water in the sink and washed her face. Turning on her radio she began to shower and dress. She ran a brush through her hair and walked out slipping the ring back on her hand and her cross around her neck. A pair of headphones over her ears, she tunred and looked down the hall as Ajack came fron his room as well.
[I]Well he's still the early bird...[/I]
She streched lightly before jgging down the hall towards the hanger.
"Morning Desh."
[I]Good morning Lyu...you seem in better sprits.[/I]
"Don't bet on it but I'll live."
She tuned her bike and polished Desh quickly and hopped into the cockpit and pluged her radio into Desh.
"Let's see...here it is."
Desh's cockpit was filled with rock music as she turned it up, she hopped out and landed akwardly on her feet moving backwards she fell back on her butt.
"Ow..."
She stood and brushed her-self off and oped the compartment on Desh's leg.
[I]Lyu what are you doing?[/I]
"I'm disabling the special attacks so we can't use them."
Desh nodded and closed his eyes waiting for her to finish.
"I don't understnd one thing Desh."
[I]What is that Lyu?[/I]
"Does he really think I left just because I couldn't handle it?"
Desh looked up as Ajack entered.
[I]Not sure Lyu...maybe you should talk to him.[/I]
"Talk? To him? He's become as cold as an artic winter in Siberia...he reminds me of how Sayne used to be...and even he's warmer than Ajack is now."

"Time? He gave me five years Desh...I was an hour away the whole time and he never once came looking for me. Not once."

So much pain we had gone through for our freedoma dn now we have what to show for it? A memorial of names? The graves are the scarttered pieces of Mechs that litter the ground and the people were that Desh. They were peopel. What do they get? Nothing. A wall. that's alot of thanks to them isn't it? All they get is a wall withtheir name and about a million others with it."

"It may be something desh, but it's not enough. They were people Desh, with families and friends, some of them I knew, others I lookd up to. I dunno Desh...the more I thought about how it could happen again, how I could indanger him again...I couldn't bring my heart to take that chance."

"Desh I am not having this conversation right now! Please...don't make me remeber how much it hurt toleave him like that...please. I don't wanna think on that right now Desh. It hurt me to much...It nearly killed me."

"I couldn't eat for 3 days straight, I was so weak that I hd to go to the hospital and get medical attention...after that I decided to work harder in case I saw him agian...show him I wasn't as weak as I was when I left...make him know that I was willing to fight for him this time. I suppose that I was wrong though huh?"
She wiped her hands free of grease on a towle and wiped her eyes from tears quickly.
"Well that's done...let's go Desh, e have to get to the Stadium and meet up with everyone there."

She chuckled and clmbed into the cockpit and pushed the controls forward and made Desh leap out into the sun and head for the sadium. Her voice echoing throughout the cockpit as she sang.

[COLOR=Red][FONT=Trebuchet MS]Sora walked around the stadium in awe. Sayne followed her. Something wasn't right with him. It was strange.

" Sayne?" Sora asked, turning to him.
" Hn..." he mumbled in reply.
" Is everything all right?" Sayne noticed she didn't use 'lover' in her sentence. It meant she was really concerned about something.
" Nothing much..."
" Nothing much what?"
" I said nothing much Sora."
" Fine." She hated it when he hid something from her. It usually meant it was pretty big. " Shall we go and see our Mechs?" Her tone changed to one of ice. Sayne looked up, noticing the cold change but he said nothing, just merely nodded. Sora half stalked off and Sayne followed, still in deep thought.

Sora stood before Blaze. Her mind was elsewhere.

Sora cleared her mind of all thoughts other than the ones for piloting. It was an effort but she managed it. Now sitting in the cockpit, Sora closed her eyes and syched completely with Blaze.
" Disable the Phoenix System Blaze, and all Special Attacks."
[b][COLOR=DarkRed]Why?[/COLOR][/b]
" We aren't allowed to use them in the V.M.Tournament."
[b][COLOR=DarkRed]Ok. System disabled. Now what?[/b][/COLOR]
" I want a full system inspection Blaze. Everything. I want to know if everything has been fixed perfectly. I don't want the system to freeze mid-battle. That would be embarrassing."
[b][COLOR=DarkRed]I see your point.[/COLOR][/b]

Sora and Blaze worked on their weapons mainly. The Doctor had kindly fitted Blaze with some new weapons other than the close-combat. Two machine guns, one on each side, with an extremely large amount of ammunition stored in the wings in blast-proof containers. It was very impressive. Now all Sora had to do was wait.[/COLOR][/FONT]

[FONT=Arial Narrow][SIZE=2][COLOR=Navy]As Jinn started to walk over to Sora and Sayne he noticed that they were heading off in a different direction Jinn thought better than to follow them. 'Man where is everybody? You think there would be more than just three, maybe the others are inside the building. Maybe I should go look for them, but first It's time to get something to eat.'

Jinn sated to walk down one of the many corridors of the main buildings until he yelled in frustration. "Excuse me, can I help you", said a voice.

"If you can give me directions to the cafeteria or something close one than yes you can", answered Jinn

"Okay so this is what you do. Go down take the first left on your right then go down and take a left", the lady told him.

Thank you he said in reply as he started walking. I took him a few minuets until he found the place there was only one occupant. She looked at him when he entered. "Hello" he said "My name is Jinn and yours?"

"Kai", she replied.

"Hey did you know that Sora and Sayne are here."

"Yeah met them and some of their friends."

"You did."

"Yep."

"Are they here for the tournament too?"

"Yeah is that why your hear."

"Yep and let me guess you too huh?"

"Yes I am the pilot of Stella the eagle."

"Oh, I?m the pilot of Leon the liger."

"Nice to meet you jinn", she said as she started to leave.

"Yeah you to, and can I ask you a question?"

"Yeah sure what is it?"

"Did they buy you a ticket?"

"No, why?"

"Because I thought it was just I. Damn they can build mechanims but they can't but us tickets to this base huh".

"Guess so. Well, good bye."

"Hey wait do you know where how to get back to the stadium form here?"

"Yeah why?", she looked at him

"Because, I have no stinking clue. Did they give you a map?"

"Yes let me guess they didn't give you one right?", she had her answer when he stared to nod his head.

"Hey Kai, can you read minds?", he asked with an amazed look.

"No, well we better get going shouldn't we."

"Yep and thank you for letting me come with you." With that said the duo left the cafeteria room.[/FONT][/SIZE][/COLOR]
