Running with the [strike]fad[/strike] idea in the Underground, I decided to make an index for all my past work, as well as a universal thread for future works. In short, I'm going to post all my links to my old pictures (ones made before this thread), and then submit the rest of my work in this thread. This entails both photowork and graphics design.

Just as a reference, the bold links are the thread, the subs are the pictures within it. For threads with only one picture in it, there will be no subcatagory. Got it? Good.

I'll probably spruce things up later. Right now, I just wanted to get this project behind me.

I like the picture. It fits the theme well, for anyone with an imagination. A nice, clean tripple border would look nice. Maybe a double border. Other than that, very nice job on image selection, text and image placement, as always.

Here's a better image. I recieved comments on another board, and they told me it looked a little weak for the theme of strength. So I upped the contrast and all that un-fancy jazz, and here's the new product.

[COLOR=DarkOrange]Banner #1: I like it, although the picture could be a little better. The font fits the mood of the banner very well...is that Squitcher? It looks like it...

The Sonic one is very nice. I like the blues, they contrast nicely.

The one directly under...the colors are nice, but it's a bit bland...

And the one with the lady...Is that that one judge from American Idol? I'm always forgetting her name...it's very nice, too...I love the font contrast. That's probably my favorite in this thread.[/COLOR]

[SIZE=1][B]Surreal City[/B] -- Here are three images I made by merging three skyscraper images into one, dreary city. I had the Matrix's "Desert of the Real" in mind when I made it. Actually, I'm falling in love with these. The best thing? I made them in such a short period of time. <3

[COLOR=RoyalBlue]For all of them I must say I like the soothing colors of the blues and greens and the general theme because I like architecture and skyscrapers are a unique example of architecture.

Number 1.
I really like the way you can kind of see "daylight" on the buliding that you merged into the building to the left of the center. The "daylight" also is visible in number 2. I think that that minor bit of red takes a little away from the picture though.

Number 2.
Again. I like the daylight. The green of that one building seems to go better than when it was red in Number 1. I also like the fact that some of the buildings are more visible in this one than in the other two.

Number 3.
Still very good but I like it less than the other two as it is harder to see the individual buildings. The sapphire shade of this is very beautiful though, and I still like it very much.

So all and all... my favorites are in this order: 2-1-3. Good job!

I like how Shinji (that is Shinji, right?) looks--the softness of the image is nice, and the slight glow works well without being too blurry. The background just doesn't do anything for me, though--pure black might be better. On the other hand, the tiny little sweat-drop-esque splotches to his left are great.

The grid-like areas are okay, but I don't really care for the larger circles & lines--they feel somewhat aimless. That faded, dark gray kind of clashes with color palette of the stock image; however, I can't say what I'd replace it with, heh. And a thicker border would do this one some good, I think.

The font fits in pretty nicely. Using white & that drop shadow-y style was a good move. The text is also well placed, relative to the rest of the banner.

[COLOR=DarkOrange]For being DB related, it's quite good. :p The only problem I see is something seems a bit off on the contrast...my eyes are kinda bad in the contrast deparment, so it may just be me, but somehow I think the contrast detracts from the picture.

I do, however, like the text, and the blurring effects. That's really nice. The only complaint with the text is a pet peeve of mine...when most people look for enter buttons, they look at the bottom right. I dunno why...the "enter" text just looks a little off center. Again, that's most likely just me.

Altogether, though, very very good work Retri.[/COLOR]

[SIZE=1][b] I like the fact that it looks like moving water inside a banner, the effects are clean cut and really pleasing to the eye. However I'm not sure I like the three stripes and the font as much as I like the background but I think thats just because its not my style. It seems a bit bright (that just might be because its against white) otherwise its perfect ;) I really think you did a great job on it.

I've been checking up on your work for quite some time now but since i'm the most laziest person XP, i never had time to comment.

Well, all your banners look very good and i'm glad that you stopped using the pre-made brushes. If you check on my earlier work, brushes were all i used also ^_^. Your work seems to be improving and for everyone who enjoys Retri's art, be sure to check out our Graphic Battle coming soon this week.

[SIZE=1][COLOR=Purple]Very good Retri, very good I must say. I love the placement of the text, it works well, along with the font and the colouring. I would say that the pattern of the diagonal lines is distracting, but I think over-all they help build up the final image.

Thanks for the feedback. The avatar/icon of the Tokyo banner was originally make for a specific forum, where the avatar couldn't be larger than 60x60. So yes, it could've been better, but there's only so much detail you can squeeze into such a small space.

[FONT=Tahoma]I was going through all your links, when I looked at "Tell her I'm sorry" .. I almost died. I love it. I absolutely, fell in love with it. I saved it and I love it. You really did a good job on how messy and how hard it is to tell someone sorry, I tried to read some of the things, and it was really well done, the confusion and the "mistakes" really showed emotion and I was actually moved by it.
