Crazy Weather

[COLOR=DarkRed]I live in Wisconsin, and if you don't already know, we are known for having very crazy/weird weather. Well i've never thought so until about two days ago...

I was in school like any other day, in the morning it seemed like a pretty good day, sunny and all. By the end of second period (close to two hours later) there was a blizzard outside, litterally! Everything was covered in snow. I was disapointed, because i'm really sick of the snow by now. Well, the truly crazy thing is that within less than an hour later, not only did it stop, but it warmed up... A LOT. Within the course of three hours, we went from a very small amount of snow, to a lot of snow (at least 3 inches in two hours), to nearly none again! Now, two days later, and we're absolutely covered in snow again.

It's just crazy. Anyone else with weird weather?[/COLOR]

nothing quite as crazy as that, but last week it got into the 70's on monday and by tuesday it was snowing. granted the snow it self wasn't too bad. but the wind made it feel really cold outside.

You know what's really crazy? Four hurricanes in a row.

[COLOR=DarkRed]That is quite extreme, but that isn't exactly a weather "anomally." Due to your position, climate, closeness to the tropic ocean, and wind currents, a hurricane in Florida, though it doesn't happen too often, isn't so rare. It's like saying that it's strange to be so warm in a desert.[/COLOR]

Excellent point; you see, [i]a[/i] hurricane in Floridia isn''t odd at all. We have them every year, in what we can our "Hurricane Season".

Four major storms (I believe all four of the names were retired) within a two-month period is incredibly odd, and was/is the subject of much discussion.

Weather is strange. A couple weeks ago it was completely sunny, mid 50 degrees F, and the next day it friggin' snowed on us! (And I got a cold/virus from someone. Blegh)

Oh, speaking of weird weather, in another recent weather related thread on otakuboards, we were debating whether or not the tsunami's effects were great enough to cause choppy waves in California.

I said that they could, and I stand mostly correct. The information I found doesn't say that the specific side-effect was violent waves, bu the movie clearly shows a global effect from the tsunami. I found this when the thread was still going, but at the time I didn't have DSL to view the movie, which takes forever to load on dial-up. [COLOR=Navy]A few years back when I was living in the UK, we had a tornado of all things!

I lived about four hours or so from London if I remember right...near Cambridge. Anyways, a tornado touched down over one of the stores and the building took quite a bit of damage. A tornado in the UK? Who would of thought.[/COLOR]
