- cures for every disease known to man; including cancer and aids.
- the perfection of A.I (artifical intelegence)
- space travel
- unlimited amounts of natural resources for earth and all its colonies due to advancement in the sciences.

Earth was at peace; there hadn't been any fighting, nor any full scale war for 7 years. All nuclear weapons were dismembered, unifying all of earth under a single government through the leadership of the President of Earth for 10 years; Micah Armago. Every country still had their national leaders, presidents, kings etc...but they all answered to Micah Armago.

Through this time of peace, there was no need for soldiers to serve in the military for combat. All weaponary research came to a halt by the the order of President Armago because of his policy for peace on earth and all its colonies.

As like ever year, millions of citizens gathered together in celebration within the walls of all the major cities of earth.

***We are now taking you live to New Berlin, where we are only two minutes away from the crystal ball being dropped. We all here at BBC...the Berlin Broadcasting Corporation, would like to congradulate all the citizens of earth for having such a successful year of 2200.

***The view is incredible from down here at the base of the Omega Health Instution...the tallest building in the world. Everyone is looking up at the ball as it prepares to decend upon the OHI's tower peek.

***The entire city is lit up in a marvelous setting of lights, fireworks, and yes...even candles now being held by some religious members wishing for yet another year of peace.

***Here it comes ladies and gentlemen....the hour we've all been waiting for...only 10 seconds away.............5.......4......3......2.......1.. ....*

Suddenly the entire city went dark. All forms of power connected to the city grid were out...leaving no lights for people to see. With the fireworks dying down...all of New Berlin was blanketed in darkness.

(In a whispering tone)
***Its me...Katie King...reporting from New Berling.

''Are you still filming Dave?''

''Yea...the camera has its own battery; but the light is very dim.''

''Fine...thats good enough''

***Sorry...Katie King here. I don't know if anyone is watching this...the site which your looking at is incredible. All forms of light have gone down across what seems to be the entire city. People aren't in a panic...but they're just standing around. Still looking up into the sky speechless. The silence is actually un-nerving....''

About an hour goes by without nothing being said...then...

AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A deafining scream erupts amoungst the crowd. Everyone is running around in circle...trying to escape the masses.

***OH MY GOD...OH MY GOD!...Dave...Dave where are you?''

No response...Katie turned around to see Dave's dead body lying on the ground with the camera still running on her.

(In a panic...too terrified to move)
***Oh MY GOD...whats going on?...they're bodies everywhere...

With corpses all around her...she circled in the same spot...trying to see if she could see anyone around...alive.

With her back turned...a massive, grey hand came out of the darkness and swept Katie off her feet. The camera couldn't see exactly what it was...only the screams of the tormented Katie as her flesh was wripped to screds...being tossed into the dark.

After a few minutes...the camera picked up a faint shadowy figure...then the picture went out.

''Mr. President...Mr. President...there's something I need to show you.''

''Not now Admiral, can't you see I'm showing my daughter the fireworks.''

From his coat pocket, Admiral Vega revieled a video tape.

''Sir...this can't wait.''

Moments later...in one of the many suites of President Armago's mansion. The admiral put in the video tape recording of BBC's New Years broadcast...showing what transpired above.

''My God in Heaven...'' proclaimed Micah...''notify the board.

It's been a month since that day...and similar attacks have been made in other populated and desolate areas. With these new events...Micah has had no choice but to reopen the world wide military to help control the situation.

Unknown to President Micah; there has been an underground facility underneath the streets of New York City for years preparing for a time such as this.

Full of scientists, researchers, inventors, and soldiers; the project known as Heaven, under the supervision of Commander Joseph Red of America, is now recruiting the most potential individuals on earth and on all of earths colonies to lead the team to learn, contain, and destory this new threat.

It's now been 6 months since that day...the attack on New Berlin. The Angel team was formed for the first time...a virus seemed to be the cause of the darkness. Vampires and Werewolves were discovered and destroyed in London..where they found the presidents daughter Maria to be the first one infected..her vampire qualities were hidden from them till it was too late; all the survivors which the team had found in London all died.

Next was Asia..where Taikaru, a member of the team discovered an anti-virus to fight against these "monsters." Attacked by sand-vipers; then later zombies and gargoyals...the team now rests at Project Heaven..their base underneathe the streets of New York City.

It has been a month since the last attack on earth. The president still resides in space and the planet begins to heal from all the lives that were lost. The team was able to cure to virus which was spreading...and things seemed to be returning to normal.

However...the darkness............continued. [/SIZE] [/COLOR]

I would recommend new rpgr's just to take a brief look at the first installment of this story Darkness Falls: The Fall of Man to get a basic background, or just the ending post...but its not necessary. For those who will returning to the rpg...you may have a little background to the past events in your first post to square as well as in your profile as well if you'd like.

For those new people who will be joining us...have fun:)..and I will give you directions on how to introduce yourself to the team before square starts up.

Your mission is to search out and destroy all form of the paranormal that you come across. Everything from vampires, zombies, ghosts, witches, demons, and monsters will be incoperated into this; using a chapter system with gaps inbetween each mission to socialize and ultimitaly process information leanered through each encounter with the paranormal with what is going on on Earth.

I have a basic ideal where this will ultimitly lead too...but by all means...you can make this as creative as you'd like it to be. You will be the leaders of this team that goes out into the unknown...with the ones posting as well as other soldier who will come to some gruesome deaths I will be opening an underground as well if anyone has any questions or ideas. No one person will be the center of this...so make this rpg your own.

Home Planet: Earth

Appearance: Tall, well-built, mid-length black hair, electric blue eyes, tanned skin, wears a black t-shirt and combat trousers, with a black waist-length leather jacket, black boots.

Personality: A joker. He has a black sense of humour, and it always comes out in times of great danger. He enjoys his job more than anything in the world, and takes great pleasure in disposing of the supernatural.

Bio: Born into a rich British family, Lee developed strong psychic powers when he was a child. He was put into a specialist hospital, and given a psychic dampener ring around his head. This supressed his powers, but made him comatose until they could invent a new improved version.

They finally managed to invent one when he was fifteen, and he awoke from his coma. When he was twenty, he attended the fateful New Year's Eve party with his family, where they were all killed, except him. This forced him into a month-long depression, where he never left the house.

He finally got over his loss by developing a sense of humour about his entire life. He decided to put his power to use by joining Project Heaven, and destroying as many monsters as he could.

He has since been through many changes, from being blind to having to kill his own father, but each new experience has made him stronger. He has also formed a strong emotional relationship with Ivy, his fellow team-mate.

He has been away from Team Heaven for a few months, trying to resolve some personal issues, but he has missed Ivy incredibly, and so inevitably will return to the place he now comes to think of as his home.

Since he has been away, Lee has become stronger, both physically and mentally, gaining stronger telekinetic and telepathic powers. These abilities make him a formidable foe to battle against.

Apperance: see attachment. The guy below but with daggers instead of a sword.

Personality: Farel is the quiet, shy type but this is due to his haunting past which he does not want to revive. Though he is very reserved he does not like to be left alone. This also relates to his past. At times he can appear clingy but when it comes to action he is in there with no problems. When it comes to fighting, though he can use stealth, he is very reckless.

Bio: Farel was born on Earth, but at the age of 12 he and his family moved to the colony on Mars. At the age of 18 he was accepted into the new space exploration program. As it was unknown of what was out there that could be encountered he was trained in all fields of weaponry though he prefers to use rocket launchers and the new AK37.

As part of the program his genetics were modified so he could slip into the shadows if need be. Because of this new power he was moved from the sapce exploration program to the secret service. It was there that he met his fiance.

When the attacks on the Earth began, Farel took no heed to them. It was on Earth and not his problem. When the problem came to Mars he was involuntarily involved. As the city was attacked he was able to slip into the shadows but his fiance was not. She was killed in front of his eyes. Farel acted on the world Presidents plee as soon as he heard about it.

He looks for closure in any form it may come. Whether it be revenge or death he will find it. But what holds him back is his new found feeling of lonliness, and it scares him.

During his recent adventures with Project:Heaven he has found himself. He is less wanting that Freedom from life that he once had. He is also trying to help Taikaru work through the emotions that are so new to her.

Weaponary: Ranged Weaponry - specialises in the use of rocket launchers but mainly uses an advanced, silenced version of the AK-47

Personality: Cheerful and easygoing, he is the model of 'the nice guy'. He will go out of his way to help people he doesn't even know and he will never betray the people who trust him. He loves to have fun and to laugh. Even with this upbeat personality, there is something unseen about him which suggests he hides a deep sadness.
Bio: Eric spent most of his early life moving around, whether it was being expelled from old schools or problems with his family, he never stayed to long in one place. His family managed to settle down once, but he had grown so used to moving around he ended up causing trouble so he could move in with other family members. After a while, they became so sick of it they threatened to throw him out of the street. This sobered him a bit and he learned how to get along with his family, finally learning to accept staying in one place. After a while, he managed to make lasting friendships, even fell in love. But that was only until that damnable New Year's Eve, the night his life was destroyed. He was with his family, his girlfriend was there as well, he'd even planned to propose that night, when it happened. The wave of supernatural force that now threatens the world came over him like a tidal wave... When he came to, the girl he loved and his entire family were torn to pieces, and his hands were stained red with their blood.

Melee weapon: A traditionally handcrafted nodaichi(over sized katana) of exceptional quality that his girlfriend had given him as a gift. It's the only possession he has an attachment to and he is quite proficient in it's use.

Home Planet: Confirming Earth

Appearance: A young women with semi-glossish black hair that strands. Her suit she wears is flexible leather that bends in the way she moves. With an added touch she has dark blue eyes.

Personality: Now changed from the past incidents Taikaru is caring. She still doesn?t like to be all warm and fuzzy around people. She still remains cold to most of the team but relinquishes her feelings to Farel.

Bio: As a young girl her she loved her planet. She loved to have fun. But that all ended when she was 10. Her mother died from a bullet wound to the back. She was scared and the next thing she knew she was in an underground research facility at the age of 18. They told her that she was in a coma for eight years. They also assured her that the wars were over and peace resonated through the land. Yet the memory of her father?s blood clinging to her face wouldn?t vanish from her head. She was also told that she had to pay off the debt she was in for her treatment. So she has been with the underground agents ever since.
Her training progressed through the years; she even found her ability that saved her. They said the man that attacked her was gone. All but the head of the victim was found. There was a wound left but it wasn?t blood or a scar. It was just black and the eyes looked frightened. This power came from her to have a gift. She was taught that some humans receive gifts from evolution. It was basic common knowledge.
Anyway, after getting out of the coma she was able to remember how to do things. They were amazed at this for if a coma is not treated with in the first five hours they wouldn?t have been able to fully revive her memory. But now she is awake and very dangerous.
Her nickname was given to her by the ones who saved her. They found her gift works best in the dark. There for they named the gift? (Look at gift.)
After being assigned to team heaven she has found it easy to have feelings. First coming to the Heaven team Taikaru had a sense that everyone was an enemy. After going to London she found her emotions tore through her and she fell to the floor. Awakening in the presence of Farel Taikaru found she could trust him. Many times Taikaru had to with hold information but this was different. A strange presence came over her and she thought she could tell Farel everything. Soon after that they were sent to the fields by Hong Kong. That is where Taikaru saw her first batch of sorrow. Farel was struck down because she was in the way. After trying to revive him back at base she thought about doing some snooping. Feeling ready she learned of her brother Nomi. Still out there she has been conjuring up dreams of past occasions. After heading back to Hong Kong Taikaru felt she was ready again but couldn?t get over the account about what happened to the viper when it attacked Farel and her while he was sleeping. They got to Hong Kong and Taikaru was once again hit by wave after wave of enemies. This time sluggish zombies. Finally headed to Rome they came off the ship. Lee was attacked by a gargoyle. Taikaru managed to save Lee but was struck by the gargoyle in the process. Her next feeling was like no other. She made the thing suffer. After being knocked out she awoke to find a massive gargoyle fleet come. That is the first time Taikaru saw ?it?. It was for a brief moment though. Finally the wave of terror came to an end when the zombies started to fall as someone administered the anti-virus. Farel had at that time become closer to her than ever before. He was Taikaru?s savior. But things still remain, the evil is not yet fully destroyed.

Weapons: She has two black hand guns that have a bumpy texture on the handle. They bullets are powerful when shot out though. The advancements in the common hand gun were quite extraordinary. (Again)

Apperance: SHe is tall, 5 ' 7, with long red hair that has Balck highlights running through it, she wears a tight camie shirt with black hiphuggers she wears a large trench coat that covers her body making her gender unapparent, a hat covers her head(Much like Van Helsing's coat and hat) She wears open fingerd gloves and thick combat boots, her eyes are an unnatrual yellow with green around the pupil.
Personality: She seems cold hearted at first but she surprises everyone with her good humor and smart aleck remarks. But when it comes down to it she gets the job done right and the first time through.
Bio: was raised by her parents in New Berlin. She was a good child, bringing home good grades and getting along with people fine. It was new years on her 17th year and she didn't go to the celebration with her family, she had gone to a friend's house for new years when it happend, they were watching it on the televsion when the window busted open. A figure with sickly yellow teeth came through holding her half eatten mother, rage flared through her body as it attacke dher friends and then turned on her, she looked up and blacked out, when she woke it ws over, the room was covered in blood and pieces of flesh as if the creature had exploded. She was found roaming the streets an hour later by the military scientists. Being told she had extordinary 'powers' she was given weapons and a mission to search and destory the monsters that had come to kill humanity. She now works with a team of others like her-self and finds her-self doing all she can to protect them all.
Weapons: A shot gun kept under her sword on her back and a bull whip on her side.

Apperance: Standing about 5'11''...M has short hair which is a dark shade of purple with black/purple eyes as well. He's very well built with a calm look upon his face...you can't see it; but his entire left lung and arm is artifical, along with his left eye. The rest of his body is human.

Personality: M has a very gentle spirit...you never find him out of control in any given situation. Very focused and calm, M is always a pleasure to have along...never is he on the extremes on any level; he's always very moderate and caring.

Bio:
Both of M's parents were scientists on the Moon, studying the vast potential of the human mind. They never expected to find such power in their own son; not able to come up with a name...they simply named him M...for empath. It was hell for them as baby, for every emotion that came to his thought was expressed through their own emotions. Whenever M got upset...his parents could always feel it inside.

However...as he grew up...he began to control his emotions, as well as directing his efforts towards feeling others, sometimes looking into their past...and futures. But he always surpressed it for he felt like he was invading on others privacy. Whenever he does look into the heart of humans, animals, etc etc...he would shiver and go into a trance...and at times...he could even sense the presence of ghosts, which he has come to fear more than anything.

Through his entire life...not once did his parents place him in any experimental setting. They wanted to protect their son from such a life...however his father constantly trained him to control his powers as well as his military capabilities. Despite it being outlawed on earth...the colonies weren't under such jurisdiction.

Accidenlty...revieled to some of the members of the team...M and his powers were responsable for the deaths of people in their community; including his mother due to lossing control. His father wanted him killed...but his father superiors decided to place M in isolation for 2 years so that his powers would be surpressed and controlled.

Now...supposibly the "leader" of the Angel Team of the Project; M has been doing a lot of reflection upon the events that have transpired. His growing love for Andy; despite her constant needs from him in her growth, his friends well-being, the virus now being healed...and more importantly...the instant where he lost control of his power for just a moment at the base just a month ago.

It's blank as day upon his face that something is on his mind...but constantly...he puts up a front..continuing to be the leader and strength that he is.

Weaponary: A miniturized chain gun with armor piercing bullets and a shotgun on his belt. He also has a spear which he carries aroud with him with a long blade which can retract making it a simply walking stick.

Gift: Empath- very powerful in manipulation peoples emotions; and influencing their minds. When he losses control...his eyes turn a dark black.

Well contrary of what I said in my signup I will be back at least for a little while. If I feel that the RPG is getting out of hand like the first one I will probably leave and this time in won't be temporarily I will Take Farel with me i.e. kill him off or have him just leave the project. Anyway I have to start the RPG I've been sitting on for two months at some stage.

Well Medigo I just want to say that Taikaru won?t forget Farel. I hope this time things don?t get out of hand. Now that we know the story a bit better maybe it won?t be as weird. I know my character as well as I know some of the others. But no one can truly understand one character. Their plot and personality on a particular post is all up to the poster. Let?s take Andy for example, she is mean in some posts and she is cool and gentle in others. It all depends on Reiku?s way of thinking. In the end I think that not even the poster knows what their character is. Unless they make the character stereotyped. Not good for a story like this though. My final words to you all is not but pure knowledge. ?One who fights for justice will forever be stained by an evil that he has worked very hard to extinguish.? *Bows*

[COLOR=DeepSkyBlue]Personality:[/COLOR] friendly, strong, has a fighter/surviver attitude, a kind of sarcastic sense of humor, but she has a natural charisma that draws people to her.

[COLOR=DeepSkyBlue]Bio:[/COLOR] Lex has no family left that she knows off. Her only living relative she knew, was her older brother who raised her in the largest mars colony (city) till she was 10, then he too died in a horrible car accident, leaving her to fend for herself. Some of the other street kids took her in and helped her until she could take care of herself. She lived on the streets, getting work wherever she could, where they?d let her. When she was 15 she had enough to get a small slum apartment. She learned how to fight on the streets.

At 17 Lex finally saved enough to go to earth, to make something of her life. She landed in NYC. She got a job waitressing and went to school at night. Her mind absorbed everything and anything they could teach her.

She had a close friend, Christy. They worked together at the restaurant and got an apartment together. Life was as good as she had ever had it for 4 years. Christy was killed in the disaster of Dec. 31st.
