-The Inscription on the Dark Silver

Ages ago, there was a great darkness. A source of power so great, so terrible, that it made men weep at its name. The power of the Dark Silver. The wielders of the Dark Silver went down in history, until finally, the last was destroyed by his own power. The weapon was broken up into six pieces. They were given to a group of young men and women.

They were the Brotherhood of Silver.

The power of the Dark Silver was contained into six pieces, so that its true might could never harm humanity again. The six pieces were the Silver Dragon, Silver Band, and Silver Wolf (collectively the Silver Rings), the Silver Cross, Silver Chain, Silver Blade, and Silver Mask.

In the beginning of the Brotherhood, the Rings were used as one, as were the Cross and Chain. However, the bearer of the Rings had twin sons. As the Brotherhood deigned that the relics be passed on to the first born son, the Rings were split for the first time. The same happened to the carrier of the Cross. The Rings have stayed close, passed down with tight familial ties. The Chain, however, was separated from the Cross by a twist of fate.

The holder of the Cross was nearly killed a dark night, and passed it on to a passing young woman, with all the knowledge he could share with his dying breath. The bloodline of Cross and Chain was split, and the Cross, most powerful of the Silver, would slowly fade into obscurity.

Until now, of course.

Someone is attempting to track down the Silver Pieces, and bring back the Dark Silver. If they do, it could mean the end of the world as we know it. Luckily, the six members of the Brotherhood of Silver have found their lost Brother, the Silver Cross. And he's going to have to lead the next generation of the Silver Brotherhood against the rising menace.

Five new students are arriving at Ginsato High School. The siblings of the Rings, the Blade, and the Mask. The Cross is already there...and so is the Chain. She's one of the most popular girls in school, while the Cross remains a constant outcast...and her most devout admirer.

It's said that the seven pieces each play a pivotal roal. The Rings drive the entire group to victory. The Mask watches, solitary and wise. The Blade slays all opposition. The Cross is the heart, just as it is worn above the breast. And the Chain...will bind them all together.

"Toji-kun!"

It was a hot summer day, the end of summer holidays, and the sun hung in the sky like a great glaring eye, beating down on the streets of the small city. A waifish brunette boy wiped the sweat from his brow with the sleeve of his baggy gray shirt, hitching up his bag. His black sunglasses glittered, hiding his large gray eyes.

"Oi, Yoshitaka!"

The trees were lush and green, the spring growth unhindered by the hot summer air. Today was a fluke heatwave, as the fair climate of the last week faded into an inferno. The small high school student was flushed from heat and exertion, wearing baggy green shorts and the shirt that was at least two sizes too big. A lock of his long brown hair, limp with sweat, drooped in front of his face. He brushed it aside, still examining the shimmering blue sky.

"YOSHITAKA!"

Sparks flashed in Yoshitaka Toji's eyes as he was sent flying to the ground by the force of a flying kick to the head. He rolled on the ground a few times, holding his bag protectively to his chest. His assailant, a skinny girl with long blonde hair tied up in thick braids, stood over his body, glaring at him with vivid emerald eyes. He looked up, scowling and pouting at the same time.

"Hitomi, what was that for?" he whined.

"You idiot!" Hitomi snarled. Her voice was harsh, high, and grating. "I've been callin' you for at least a minute, you space case! Now get your ass in gear and move it, or Makimachi's gonna think we chickened out!"

Toji grumbled as he rose to his feet, and Hitomi grabbed his ear, dragging him along. His woman-ish screams of pain were ignored by the violent tomboy. Namori Hitomi was not a girl to get angry. Despite her skinny build, she was powerful, and known for being able to kick a soccer-ball 20 feet in the air. She wore the same baggy gray shirt and green shorts as Toji.

"Man, Toji-kun, you've gotten on Hito-chan's badside again?" marveled a mousy, blonde boy. Though he had a nicer face, he bore a striking resemblence to the snarling tomboy. He, too, wore the "uniform".

"Yoshitaka's always on Hitomi's badside, Yuki," laughed a bespectacled boy. The wire-framed glasses hid his sparkling brown eyes, but not the insane brightness of his green hair. "Didn't you know that?"

"Yeah, Naota's right, Yuki. Toji and Hitomi are always fightin'," agreed a chubby boy with thick black hair. He had a pleasent face, much like the small Yuki, and it was obvious he was a gentle guy, even if he did tower over the others.

"Yup, yup, always fighting!" chorused two nearly identicle boys. They both had the same brown hair, big blue eyes, and wide mouths. The Kanzaki twins, as they were always refered to, could only be distinguished by the small x-shaped scar that one had on his cheek. Kuma had given his slightly younger brother, Fuma, the scar so they could be told apart.

"Can it, you lot!" Hitomi yelled. "We need to go, now!"

"Settle down, Hitomi," said the large boy.

"Shut it, Jubei!" Hitomi snapped. "Just focus on stopping scores, okay?"

"Sorry, Hitomi..." Jubei muttered. His great size marked him as goalie for the "team." At least, Hitomi felt it did. And as the "leader," she always got her way.

The group started to march through the sun-baked street once again. Hitomi stood at the front, Yuki slightly behind her. The twins marched in unison behind Naota and Jubei. Toji hung back, fearing Hitomi's wrath once again. He kept on walking placidly, staring up at the clouds, until...

THUD

Toji stumbled back as he came into contact with something sturdy. He fell on his rear, head continuing the downward progression to slam against the asphalt. He groaned as rubbed his head as he sat up, coming face to face with a beautiful young woman with shocking red hair.

Fujiwara Emi.

Toji's mouth opened and closed a few times before he could even form a sentence. He had crashed into the girl he had been secretly in love with for five weeks. He had fallen on his ass in front of her, and probably looked sweaty and half dead from Hitomi's death march. At last, he stuttered out a few words.

"S...Sorry I b-bumped into you, Emi," he stammered, feeling the heat rise in his cheeks.

"No, it was my fault...Toji, right?"

"Uh yes...I mean, no!"

"You're not Toji?"

"N-no...I mean, I am Toji, but it wasn't your fault." Toji chuckled weakly, feeling the blush grow. "I...I have to go. Soccer game. See you at school!"

Then, using speed it didn't seem possible the scrawny teen could posses, Toji was racing down the street. He doubled over as he reached his friends, panting hard.

"You're such an idiot, Yoshitaka," Naota laughed again.

"Baka, baka, baka no Toji!" the Twins chorused in a sing-song tone.

"Hello!? GAME!?"

*****

Well, I've FINALLY begun Brotherhood of Silver. I hope nobodie's lost interest, but I was hoping Neuvoxetere and Corey would finish their sign-ups first. Oh well.

So, as you can see, Toji's a bit of a departure from the surly, violent, master-warrior badasses I usually use in RPs. It'll be interesting to play as him, I'm sure. And his friends will be all the more entertaining.

Except for Emi, all of your characters are pretty much just arriving in the city to attend Ginsato High School and track down the other Brotherhood members. Of course, as I said, nobody knows who any of the other Brotherhood members are (save the three rings, because they're related). So, have fun. My next post should begin the school year, and with it the funny, the violence, the horomones, and all that other stuff you expect from the Shounen anime this is drawn from.

Light shone onto Seiryuu's face, illuminating the room. His eyes flickered open, and he sat up in bed. He looked towards the chair before his desk, and and overviewed his clothing. He took a long shower, then, robe wrapped around his body, he walked over to the window, gazing outside. He smiled happily. Today was going to be a good day. He got dressed, grabbed his shades and backpack, then ran downstairs.

His Aunt was waiting there for him, and she had breakfast ready. Seiryuu sighed and dropped his bag next to the door. He sighed, and turned back to the living room as if in a zombie-like trance. He dragged himself over to the table and sat down, turning to his mother.

" I can never resist your meals, Maouyo." "Neither can I." Seiryuu looked over and saw his Father, Reve walking down the stairs. Seiryuu laughed and shoved down breakfast, much to the distaste of his Aunt. He grabbed his bag and ran from the house before she had the chance to scold him. Once outside he slowed down, enjoying the walk to school.

He took his time walking to school, as he had left early. He wanted to take in the sights, he loved the scenary. He noticed a path through the park, and decided he would go that way. He casually walked along the pathm whistling to himself. His tranquility was disturbed, however, when he heard a chorus of voices not to far away.

Seiryuu walked past a bunch of teenagers who appeared to be about his age. One boy had his head in a headlock by some other girl, they referred to her as Hitomi and to him as Toji. Seiryuu just passed by, chuckling to himself and smiling sympathetically at the one known as Toji.

He finally got off of the path and found that he was not but a block away from school. He got to school and sat down on the steps, pulling out a CD player and manga, and blasted The Black Mages in his ear while reading Tsubasa. He laughed and restated what he had earlier said.

"It's gonna' be a good day...."

Emi watched as Toji bolted down the street away form her. She frowned and looked down, seeing his glasses on the floor, "He couldn't get away from me fast enough." she sighed, not used to boys running away from her on a hot summer day. Leaning down to pick up the black sunglasses, she formed an idea. If these meant anything to Toji at all, and they were very nice glasses, he would come back for them.

Emi shoved the glasses into her shoulder bag and carried on her way to meet her friends at the park.

It occurred to her as she was walking that she had only ever heard Toji's name in class, strange, he seemed to be a pretty memorable guy...if a little on the scrawny side. The redhead shrugged it off and flicked some hair from her face, continuing on her way.

She reached the park fifteen minutes later to see her group of friends, all of them with straightened black hair either in braids or pigtails. Emi certainly stood out, the only thing artificial about her hair were the deep red highlights, her natural colour was an orange colour, something that had caused her to be bullied in the first few years of school.

Emi never understood why she became so popular once she reached high school, though the sudden end to the insults was welcomed and she didn't question it at all. One of her friends, Asuka, waved and Emi nodded as she dumped her bag on a bench near a tree.

"What took you so long?" Asuka asked, her voice distorted somewhat by the large wad of pink gum lodged to one side of her mouth. Emi waved it off and smiled, "Nothing, just one of those losers going to play soccer knocked me over."

Keeping up the act was hard, but Emi had learned to ignore the cold guilt that settled in her gut when she insulted someone who wasn't 'popular'. Toji seemed like a nice guy, hopefully her friend?s wouldn't-
"What was his name?"
"Erk..." the question caught Emi off guard and her startled squeak was less than elegant, "I...er...dunno." Yeah, her speach had fallen apart right there.

Another girl stepped forward, this one with short pigtails and large round hazel eyes, she pulled the green sucker form her mouth and gave Emi an odd look, "Not on your game today, are ya, chick?"

Emi shook her head and laughed, a small sweat drop forming on the back of her head, "I guess not..."

She looked up at the sky, the sun glaring down at her. For some reason she dipped her hand into her bag, pulling out Toji's glasses and putting them on. Another odd look was sent by her friends, "Where did you get those?"

"These...er...I found them." Emi felt her cheeks grow warm, praying to anyone who was listening that Toji and his friends didn't come this way.

As usual, Lai was awake at dawn and had climbed onto a platform type thing that had been built onto their roof for her. She always had to have a flat structure that she could stand on safely on her roof, because she needed it to help her be calm after anger spasms. Currently Lai was doing her usual morning routine of tai-chi, taking the calming, meditative breathes.

Lai looked toward the sun and saw that it was quite high in the sky, she finished her session and climbed back into the house through her window. She checked the time and saw there was an hour to go before school started. Lai dressed for the day and added her goggles, necklace with pendant and ring.

Lai left her room and tread along the wooden floorboards and through the halls to the master bedroom. She entered and wasn't surprised to see that her father wasn't there as he always left early, though she had seen him leave because she had been on the roof. Her mother as usual was lying in bed, now and again she let out a wheezing and phlegmy cough. Both her and her father were worried about the state of her mother due to bronchitis.

"Ma, do you want anything?" she asked.

"Oh, no thankyou, Lai. I'll have food when Marny comes in for the day. Have a good first day at school." she wheezed. Marny was the name of her mother's nurse that came everyday and took care of her.

Lai nodded, left the room and walked back to her own, putting all the things she needed into her backpack then slinging it over her shoulder. Lai searched the room quickly and picked up her Mp3 player, putting the earphones in her ears and putting the small stick part into her pocket after turning it on.

Lai jogged downstairs and dumped her bag near the door, going into the kitchen to make herself some breakfast, simply cooking up some bacon, eggs, toast and a small bowl of cereal.

She ate the meal quickly, and dumped the stuff used into the dish washer. Lai went to the hall and quickly put on her shoes and left the house. She would be late if she didn't hurry.

She hummed along to the song being played into her ears and walked briskly, she hoped she wouldn't get into a fight today, seeing as it was her first day. She tried her hardest to keep her temper, but sometimes she just couldn't help it.

Her music was disturbed by loud voices and Lai pulled her left earphone out and caught one name, 'Toji'. She made a note to remember that name and plugged the earphone back in, continuing her way to school. Despite her confidence for the day, her feelings were still harboured by the curse of having anger outbursts when annoyed.

Dawn cracked though the eyes of the evening, revealing a new day, and a new school, one that Shin hadn't even heard of till a few days ago. The sunlight struck floor, revealing the dust in the air, as the evening tends to bring as a young man got up from an uneasy sleep.

Shin's internal alarm had gone off, the clock reading 6:34. He groaned. His first day to Ginsato High, and he was cutting it thin. Very thin. Shin went though his morning scedule at double speed, but it still wasn't enough. Luckily, it was only a short run, but he'd have to run hard.

"I hate it when i do this sort of bullshit...." Shin groaned, his angsty side taking over for a minute, before he grabbed a bowl of something from last night from the fridge and setting out the door. He lived by himself, but recived money from his mother and father every week. Shin had been emancipated, considered a legal adult at the age of 16.

Shin ran as fast as his legs could carry him, as he had maybe two minutes to get to Ginsato High. He ate as he ran, being used to being late, and skilled at running. I wonder if they have track.... Shin thought, finishing the contents of the bowl, and holding onto it as he increased his pace. Ginsato High loomed ahead, and Shin stopped his frantic dash, breathing hard. He had made it in a minute.

He rushed to the doors, flung them open, and went inside.

OOC: Sorry for the short post, I couldn't think of anything.

Katsuhito had been up a few hours before dawn, as usual, either writing absently on a few sheets of lined paper or gazing out over the waking land. He and his mother had just moved into the vicinity, having lived about thirty or so miles north for the last five years. But the times demanded change, and Katsuhito hoped that this new environment might help his mother find refuge from her sorrowful thoughts. As dawn broke, the young man pushed away his writings and rose, pulling on a short gray jacket and rimless sunglasses. His watch read 6:15.

Time to go, then.

His mother usually slept late, which was fine by Kat's standards -- it had been this way for as far back as he could remember. Chewing absently on a piece of toast, Kat pulled his hair back into a loose ponytail and threw his backpack on. This was his first day of school at Ginsato High; the only factor about the recent move that somewhat troubled Kat. He was only a year from graduation when his mother had decided that a change in location would do them some good. But inside, Kat figured that his mother's happiness was more important than his own personal comfort.

Striding easily along the sidewalk, Kat made his way toward the High School. Having mapped out the route he would walk the previous night, he knew exactly where to turn -- Kat had a knack for directions. On the way, he passed by a group of younger students, a mix of guys and girls, and another student who was listening to an MP3 player while walking towards Ginsato. Kat followed at a safe distance, not wishing to intrude but realizing that he and most of the other teens in the area were walking in the same direction. He hung back a little, watching and listening.

A slight drizzle of rain had begun to pour as Kimiko walked back to her house. She looked up and felt the rain against her face, it was a feeling she had not experienced in quite some time. The cold droplets falling from the sky and splashing against her skin was a rush of escape from the world, until...

"Kimiko! You're going to be late!" The voice that shouted her name was her mother's. She looked towards the house and saw her mother standing at the door. "Ako! Did you not hear me?"

With a sigh, Kimiko walked to the house and shook her hair, letting the water drip from it. Her mother groaned and began her daily nagging as Kimiko dragged her wet self through the house. She took a glance as she passed the kitchen to the stairs and saw her brother sitting at the table, snickering and stifling laughter in his throat. She picked up one of her mother's slippers and threw it across the kitchen, aiming for Koji's head, only to miss and hit the wall.

"Ako, you'll be late for your classes." The snickering began to grow into a laugh until her mother looked to Koji. "Mind yourself, Koji. You"ll be next to see Sensei."

Quickly grabbing a pair of fresh clothes, Kimiko made her way to the bathroom without having to have her mother's endless badgering to follow her. She closed the door and got out of her damp clothes, throwing them into the hamper. Kimiko turned on the water and it was perfect at first touch, the warm water sprayed down and she became enveloped in a room of steam, lathering and rinsing until she knew she was refreshed.

After a while of staying in the bathroom and doing endless preparations with her clothes, Kimiko exited and heard her mother call once more. She grabbed her messenger bag and began to play with her yo-yo as she walked downstairs. Her mother handed her maroon track jacket before she left.

"Now, listen to Sensei and remember to mind your manners. Koji will be with you today, but try to have an open mind, akago."

"He does not have to take me to that place. I'd rather walk alone in the rain, okasan. But mind you, mother, if there should be a phone call from Sensei inquiring about me, I shall not reply to what you have to say."

At the last word, Kimiko stepped outside and walked down the street to where her lessons would take. They were not mere lessons that most would take, but a class required for Kimiko to apprehend who she truly is. She despises every moment of it and wants desperately to escape it, but if God should send a miracle, that would be the day that Kimiko leaves.

The drizzling of the rain had stopped the moment that Kimiko left a block from her house. She wanted the rain to become a downpour, letting the negativity within her to wash away, but what good would that do when the feelings would only return? With a sigh, Kimiko walked on and suddenly heard a shout.

"Heads up!"

Without looking around, Kimiko stepped aside and stopped the ball with her leg. The ball balanced on the tip of her ankle as someone ran over to retrieve it. All that saw were impressed by her skill, but were in a rush to finish the game.

"I believe this belongs to you, kid." And Kimiko walked on, not averting her look to the gazing eyes that followed her away from the path.

Liari sat cross-legged on her bed, Kynan in her lap, and Lillian sitting in front of her, underneath her left hand. The girl?s eyes were closed, her shaggy dark grey hair falling into her face. Her mom yelled from down the stairs, ?Liari! You?ll be late!?

Liari gently dumped the cat out of her lap, and got up, stripping from her pajamas. She grabbed a pair of baggy cargo pants with the bottoms scuffed and holes in the knees, a tight cameo-tank, and her jean vest with frayed edges. She dressed quickly, and grabbed her cameo bandana from the desktop, and put in her silver studs. Putting on her overly large tennis shoes, she grabbed her cameo messenger bag, and then ran down the stairs.

Before her mother could give her an outfit check, she was out the door, and running down the street. A natural athlete, she sped down the sidewalk with ease. She managed to reach the school in time to see ? who else? ? her cousin, Kimiko, stop a soccer ball.

Walking the rest of the way, Liari turned heads with her defiant outfit.

?Hai, Kimiko-kun.?

Her cousin turned at the greeting.

?Hai, Liari-kun. What are you doing here??

Liari rolled her eyes. ?Same thing you are. Going to school.?

"Oe, Toji-kun! Hayate!" rang the sharp voice of Toji's mother.

The young brunette awoke with a start. He fumbled for his clock, and yelped as he saw the time. Scrambling out of bed, he gathered up his school uniform, dressing as quickly as possible. He was crestfallen, however, when he couldn't find his sunglasses. He couldn't remember where he'd left them...unless...

"Toji!"

"Coming, oka-san!" Toji yelped, racing down the stairs.

He stepped into the dining room to find everything as it usually was. His grandfather sat at the small table, smoking his ornate pipe and reading what served as the local paper. His mother was washing dishes, and a plate of toast sat on the table.

"Toasty toasty toasty, toasty toast toast," Toji sang grabbing a piece of the bread. It was a habit of his, singing the odd little song whenever he ate toast.

"Don't forget this, boy," Toji's grandfather murmured from behind the paper. A shining object sailed over the periodical, and Toji deftly snatched it out of the air. It was his silver cross.

"Domo, grampa," Toji said, clasping it around his neck. "Well, gotta go, before Hitomi and the guys decide to track me down!"

He made it five steps from the door before he was sent flying. Hitomi had, again, sent him hurtling to the ground with her patented Flying Kick of Immortal Doom.

"Yoshitaka, you're late!" she snarled.

"Come on, pal," Jubei said, picking up the brunette. The large teen brushed off his smaller friend while Hitomi tapped her foot agitatedly.

"Can we go already? We're gonna be late on the first day!"

"Is that really such a bad thing?" Naota asked, raising an eyebrow.

"I dunno about you, stretch, but I want to get into college. So let's GO!"

*****

Toji stepped into the new classroom, flanked by Hitomi, Naota, and the twins. Jubei was a year older, and Yuki was a few years younger. Toji swept his eyes over the small classroom, seeing familiar faces everywhere. Especially Emi...

"...taka...Yoshitaka...snap out of it, Romeo!" Naota chuckled, waving his hand in front of Toji's face. "Let's grab some seats, ne?"

"Uh..." Toji began to stammer.

Naota just slung an arm around Toji's shoulders, steering him towards some empty desks. The five sat in a cluster, Toji dead center, the rest surrounding him. The bell rang, and a few more students streamed in, along with the teacher.

"Well, class, we have some new students joining our school, and our class. Let's welcome them, shall we? Stand up, all of you, and introduce yourselves."

Lai had first gone to the office for the information and schedule. She also recieved a map and used it to navigate her way to the classroom she was supposed to be in. Lai walked through the door and looked around, all of the students were talking. She narrowed her eyes and made her way to a cluster of empty desks, taking any and dumping her bag beside it. Lai pulled out one earphone of her Mp3 so she could listen to the teacher or anyone else.

More people entered the class and sat, she guessed that there were other new people because they had done the same thing as she, looked around before taking one of the empty desks around her.

When class started the teacher brought the other students who were unaware, that there were new people, meaning herself and the others around her. The teacher asked them to introduce themselves but no one was willing. Lai finally mumbled under her breath and stood, walking to the front of the classroom.

"Ohayou, watashi wa Rumiko Lai desu. Nihon jin desu. Douzo yoroshiku." Lai sighed quickly, walking back to her desk and falling into it.

"Hai, arigatou Lai-san. Next please?"

Lai slumped and slid down in her chair, waiting to hear from the other new people. She felt shifted her goggles and started twisting her ring absentmindedly.

Seiryuu hadn't heard the bell ring from beneath his headphones, and only realized he had to go in when he saw that no one was around him. He rushed into class, barely making it before the bell. He took his seat and resumed listening to music. The teacher said something to the class, and a girl stood up. Seiryuu took off his headphones, put his cd player in his bag, and listened.

"Ohayo, watashi wa Rumiko Lai desu. Nihon jin desu. Dozo yoroshiku." The girl said, sitting back down. The teacher called for the other new students to introduce themselves. Seiryuu looked around the class and, seeing that no one was getting up, decided he would follow up Lai-san. He walked to the front of the room and turned around.

"Yo. Watashi no namae wa Susano Seiryuu desu. Dozo yoroshiku." He walked back over to his seat and grinned nervously at Lai-san, flashing her a v-sign. She smiled slightly and turned around. He plopped down into his seat, sighed and sunk into his chair. Oh well...

Emi followed up on Seiryuu's introduction and scooted over next to Lai, giving her a small smile and a wave. "I'm Emi, it's nice to meet you, Lai." Lai nodded and took Emi's hand, returning the smile. Emi continued, seeing that Lai had nothing else to say, "I hope you enjoy your time here, and please, if you get lost or anything feel free to come and ask."

"Arigato, Emi-chan."

Another smile and Emi sat back down in her own seat, slipping on some headphones. She would be the welcoming committee for the rest, but only after this song had finished. She bopped her head to the beat of Asian Kung-Fu Generation, a band frowned upon but her friends for being too 'rock' even though Emi insisted that they were one of the best bands going.

She sighed and settled her head in her folded arms, tilting slightly to look at the rest of the class. Her gaze fell upon the brunette, 'Oh, he's the guy who ran into me. Poor thing.'

"Psst."

Toji looked up, turning his head around to see who had whispered.

"Toji, over here." Emi whispered again, slipping her headphones off. She waved to catch Toji's attention, which she managed quite fantastically as he sat with his mouth slightly open, a look of dazed confusement clearly on his face.

"Erm, you dropped these." Emi dug into her bag and tossed Toji?s glasses to him, unfortunately for him, the shock of Emi knowing his name caused his brain to shut down resulting in his sunglasses smacking him square between the eyes. He whimpered and clutched his face, toppling from his chair.

Emi cringed and went back to listening to music, shaking her head in sympathy.

OOC Writing about Toji isn't all that difficult, considering I was like him once. You know what I'm talking about, don?t you, ULX? Yeah. Of course you do... *grumbles*

The ringing of the phone woke her from her dream. She allowed her eyes to adjust to the bright sunlight that was streaming through the open window. Sitting up, she waited as the phone sounded obnoxiously for the fifth time.

"Moshimoshi," she spoke into the receiver.

"Miya? Is that you?"

The voice was familiar to her; she closed her eyes briefly, "Oui Pere, it's me."

"Oh, bonjour mon cherie!" her father exclaimed. Her face didn't change - he sounded far too happy, and it had been almost two months since his last phone call. What did he want?

"You didn't forget, did you? Your first day of school!"

Miya checked her cruel smile, even though no one could see her. Her father still treated her like a child of five... She had forgotten his annual call on this day, as on her birthday, and the day of her mother's death. Three times a year. She was three hours late for school.

She gave the proper responses to her father's light conversation, but her eyes narrowed as she heard something in the background of her father's voice. It was...a female voice...murmuring. And then that of a subservient.

Miya clenched her teeth. He's calling me while he's just finished in bed with his mistress...that salope.

The conversation was over in two minutes. That done, Miya hung up the phone. Five minutes later she was on her way to school.

Liari sighed, staring at the uniform. She hated uniforms ? especially ones with skirts. Quickly she changed into it, shuddering since the skirt only came to the middle of her thigh, and then fluffed her offensively short hair. Grabbing her school bag, she was down the stairs, yelling a goodbye to her cats, and then was racing away on her inlines.

When she got to the school, she changed into her school shoes, and was given her schedule before expertly finding her classroom. She went in, and waited. It was a little noisy for her likings, so she chose a seat near the back, and a window. The teacher came in and things got quiet. Three other?s introduced themselves. Liari stood next, clutching the Wolf on the chain around her neck, and then dropped it back beneath her uniform.

?Hai, my name is Liari Deneloth, it?s a pleasure to meet you all.?

She sat back down swiftly, ignoring the imploring glances from her new classmates. She looked back at her notebook, and began sketching.

Katsuhito was the next to rise. His statement was short and to the point.

"Katsuhito Tesujin. Nice to meet you all."

Choosing a seat near the back of the classroom, Katsuhito allowed his eyes to sweep over the students before him. None appeared to be of any particular interest to him -- but then again, when were people ever of any interest to him? Crossing his arms and leaning back absently in his chair, Katsuhito took note of the several other students that introduced themselves in front of the class. Watching silently as they chose their seats, Katsuhito allowed himself a thin smile.

This should be an interesting year...

Emi looked around at the other students who had introduced themselves, pleased to see the girls shared her opinion when it came to short hair. Of course, she hadn't caught their names; the sound of her music wouldn't allow something like that.

Settling down again after another sweeping glance across the room, Emi seemed to drift off into a daydream. It was only because of someone throwing a pencil at her head that she woke up with a rather loud snort, getting glances of confusement from her classmates.

"Itaii..." she rubbed the back of her head, turning around to look into the impish face of her friend Chizuru. With big black eyes and a bun hairstyle, Chizuru looked like she belonged in second year rather than a high school. Emi groaned and shook off her headphones, running a hand through her shocking hair. "Nande, Chizuru-chan?"

"Nice shot with the Toji-loser, Emi-san." Chizuru giggled, shooting a demeaning glance in Toji's direction. Emi sighed and turned around, choosing to ignore her friend. "What's up with you?" Chizuru whispered, her voice sounding somewhat hurt.

"Nothing, just lay off Toji for a while..."

Little did Emi know, a few of the resident gossipers had picked up on the conversation, soon enough rumours would begin to fly. How fun the school year would be.

Liari kept sketching, alternately taking notes as the teacher droned on. She heard a couple giggles, and glanced up to watch two girls begin to talk. One had a pencil thrown at the back of her head, and it collided solidly with her shock of pink hair. Liari was amused.

As the girls talked, the pink-haired prep sighed, and turned away. She caught the name of Toji, but that was about it. She folded the picture into a paper football, and then flicked it to the back of the head of the boy who had introduced himself as Tesujin. He turned his head to look at her.

Liari raised an eyebrow, and the mimed unfolding the paper. He did so.

You new here, too? Everyone here seems like preps to me.

Below the note was sketches of who she knew to be Toji and the girl Emi. She smirked. The boy wrote back on it, and refolded it. He tossed it back at her, and she ducked. Picking it up off the floor, she unfolded it and read it.

I am new. Nice to meet you, Liari-san.

When she looked back up, he was staring at the blackboard, where the teacher had begun to write his expectations of them this year.

OOC: Hope that was okay, Sevotharte. ^_^

Shin was called to introduce himself, and he got up with a sigh, and a grimace.

"I'm Shin, nice to be here." He said simply. Due to his former schools teaching in mostly English, he didn't use Japanese too often, unless the person he was talking to didn't know how to speak English. He walked back to his seat, and sat down in it.

"Feh....I hate introductions. If people wanna know my name, they should come out and ask me for it, I shouldn't have to tell it to them if I don't want." Shin spoke quietly, just enough for a few people around him to pick it up.

"What you guys staring at?" Shin asked, then calmed down. Gotta control your temper, man. Can't afford to lose your cool.

Though Katsuhito knew that a second note would be a gamble, what with the teacher periodically sweeping the room with a gaze or two. But then again, he felt some sort of connection with the girl, Liari. Apart from the fact that they were both new, of course. Something deeper than that...Katsuhito shook off the feeling and folded another note, aiming carefully. The small piece of paper slid along the ground to halt beneath one of Liari's shoes. She picked it up and opened it.

Seems like our instructor has some pretty high expectations for us. No wonder everyone here seems preppy - they're bound to think they're better than the rest just because of the workload they have to handle =P

Liari quirked a smile and scribbled back.

You're probably right. You don't seem like that type of person, though.

Katsuhito laughed to himself.

I hope not. Well, I'm not really anything, I mean, social-group-wise. I'm just...me.

You know my name, Tesujin, but call me Katsuhito. Kat for short. I'm glad I'm not the only one who isn't a prep at this school.

OOC: No problem at all, Paertekarka. ^^

Had to switch off of Garamond, too hard to read the italics =P

Standing outside of the classroom, Kimiko waited for her brother to appear. Though she knew he would be arriving fashionably late, as he would say. She looked to her watch and then inside the classroom. Several of the students had already spoken and it seemed that it was her turn to speak. The teacher walked outside and urged her in, asking her to speak. Kimiko defied him and slapped away his hand. He then stood there pleading that she spoke so that they could start class.

The class saw that there was one new student who was not seen. She did not wear the school uniform that was given to her and all gasped. The boys in the class snickered or nodded and spoke as if she was going to be popular, the girls gossiped and gasped. Kimiko did not care either way; she was at school under the orders of her mother and father. She played with her yo-yo and chewed on her gum.

?Watashi wa Misturagi Kimiko. My cousin is Liari Denethol; I have a twin brother by the name of Koji. I hate school and I hate authority. I despise preppy girls who think they own the school and everyone in it, I despise boys who think they can get into any girls? pants, and I definitely despise those who wish to hurt my friends and family emotionally, physically, or mentally.? Everyone sat there wide-eyed. No one has ever spoken in that manner before, except for Hitomi who was known for her temperamental personality.

The teacher looked on in wide-eyed amazement. He was not exactly accustomed to this sort of behavior. ?Uh, thank you... Kimiko-san. Please sit.?

Kimiko walked to where Liari was and sat behind her. She took a glance around the room and picked out how each student acted. She was observant and aware of her surroundings. She listened to the conversations around her and heard the names Emi and Toji, two names that would be later noted. She then was shot a glance by a girl who was sitting with a lanky boy. She knew this girl to be a tomboy by the way she glared. Kimiko merely smirked and played with her yo-yo, blaring her music in her ears as she did.

Koji- "Oh fuck! COME ON!!!" He bashed his hands on the steering wheel and jammed the key in the ignition slot. The engine coughed ever so politely and died. Koji gripped the steering wheel, white knuckled, and breathed. It was one of the techniques they taught in rehab. Breathe and count to ten... "It's not working dammit..."

Mom- "Koji! You're late! Hurry!" She yelled out the door at him solemly. Things had changed since he had left the clinic. His families attitude toward him being one of them. They used to tend to his every need, shelter and watch out for him with every step he took. Now it's distant. Almost uncaring. It's what he always wanted. How does that go? You never miss something until it's no longer there. Something like that.

Koji- "Fuck you piece of American shit." He got out of his Ford and started walking down the street toward school. The day was nice. A little stuffy, but nice. He began to perspire slightly under his random assortment of clothing. He wore torn up jeans and tennis shoes along with the white button up shirt and tie of the school uniform. There was no way in hell he would have put on the pants from the uniform. They looked idiotic.

The school pulled into view and Koji, realizing he was almost an entire period late, began jogging. His tennis shoes flopped on the ground, and by the time he got to the doors, he was in a full sweat.

Man... I wish I has some met-- He cut the thought off before it could finish. Methamphetamines were the last thing he needed right now. Fake energy is worse than anything. He quickly checked his schedule and entered the building, aimlessly attempting to find his class. Koji stuck his head into several rooms before finding the one with his sister in it. Their cousin, Liari, was also inside. He perked up a bit and entered.

Teacher- "And who might you be?" Koji was hoping to take a seat unnoticed. He stopped, sighed, turned, and tried to smile.

Koji- "I'm Koji Kimiko, Mitsuragi Kimiko's brother." Koji began to sit down.

Teacher- "Well why don't you introduce yourself more, Koji." He paused mid sit and stood back up. He hated introductions. This was angering. No wonder Mitsuragi looked pissed.

Koji- "What do you want me to say? I should have graduated a while ago, but I got into some trouble, had to spend a year or so in rehab, and now I'm here, not particularly wanting to be here. Is that good?" The teacher looked from Mitsuragi and Koji. He nodded slowly and motioned for Koji to take a seat. He grabbed the one in the very back of the class and scratched distractedly at his neck, stopping every once in a while to bite the tip of his finger.

Seiryuu took a once over of his interesting classmates. They were, for the most part, very odd. He chuckled to himself, and began chewing on the back of his pen. He looked over to Kimiko-san and decided that he would go introduce himself to her, she had walked in late, so she didn't know who he was. He also found her very interesting, few people had the kick-ass disposition that she did. She was the only other person here who actually didn't care about the uniforms. He stood up and walked over to her, waving his hand in front of her to get her attention. She lowered her headphones and stared at him.

"Yes?"

"I'm Seiryuu. Nice to meet you. I couldn't help but notice your...remarkable introduction, and wanted to personally commend you on such. Everyone should be like that. Would definitely make for more interesting conversations if everyone got straight to the point."

She rolled her eyes and put her headphones back on, ignoring him alltogether. The teacher turned around and barked at Seiryuu to get back in his seat. Seiryuu faked a smiled and walked back to his seat. He pulled out his CD player again, retreating into himself.

Maybe I was a little to bluntly honest... And I rambled like a raving idiot...fuck. He growled lowly. Definitely a good way to introduce myself. He thought sarcastically.

She knows my name...

Toji sat calmly staring into space, eyes safely covered by his sunglasses. The glasses-shaped mark on his forehead was harder to cover, even with his thick mop of hair. He rubbed the sore spot, doodling on a sheaf of notebook paper while the teacher droned on endlessly.

"Psst," came a sharp hiss.

Toji looked over lazily to see Fuma and Kuma holding their hands together like a goal, with Naota poised to flick a note at Toji. The folded piece of paper sailed through the air, arced over the "goal" and landed on Toji's desk. Toji was unnerved by Naota's wicked grin, but picked up the piece of paper anyway.

Well Yoshitaka, got yerself a lady friend, eh?

Toji flushed lightly, and scribbled down his reply, carefully tossing it back to Naota.

I-Iie, Naota-kun. Nothing like that...

Naota chuckled silently and added the next reply, sending the paper flying back. Luckily, the teacher was distracted by two of the new kids.

Come on, Yoshitaka. You know you want her to ride you like a wild horse.

Blood rushed to Toji's face and he hunched down in his chair while Naota laughed silently. He wrote feverishly, trying to repair damage.

It's not like that at all. And it's embarassing when you say such rude things, Naota-kun.

The note was sent back, and Naota rolled his eyes as he read it. He wrote for a long while, and sometimes it didn't even look like he was writing. When it landed on his desk, Toji opened it with trembling fingers. He knew how wild Naota could get, especially when he was taunting Toji.

Aw, am I damaging your virgin mind? Well, maybe a diagram'll help!

And once again, Toji cursed his friend's artistic talent. His eyes only had to stray down so far to know what Naota had been working so hard to draw. The sound-effects he'd scribed only added to Toji's embarassment. His face was the color of a ripe beet, and he had shrunk down a full foot in his chair. Naota was struggling to contain his laughter.

Toji was crumpling the note when a loud, sharp cough drew his attention. He looked up to see the teacher glaring down at him.

"Yoshitaka-san, care to inform me of what this," he picked up the note to punctuate the sentence. "Is?"

"J-Just a b-b-bit of scratch p-paper, s-sensei," Toji stammered.

His heart stopped as the teacher slowly uncrumbled the image. Time slowed, and Toji felt the entire class turn to look at him. His eyes strayed to Emi, who was staring intently. His heart skipped again.

"Yoink!" Naota yelped, snatching the note from the teacher's hand. The teacher's eyes opened wide, and he turned to face Naota, heat rising in his cheeks.

"Uchiyama-san!" the teacher said sharply. "Return the note to me immediately."

Naota grinned and winked to Toji quickly.

"What are you talking about, sensei?" Naota asked slyly.

He popped the note into his mouth, grinning wider.

"Oh," he muttered around the wad of paper. He stuck out his tongue, the damp ball of pulp resting on his tongue.

"This note?"

"Uchiyama! In the hall, now!"

Naota shrugged, spit the ball into the wastebasket, and gave Toji a look that said, "You owe me." The class watched him in awe as he walked out, shutting the door with a loud click. The teacher let out a sharp breath and returned to the front of the room, muttering darkly under his breath.

The sweet summer air wafted on the cool wind, whipping around the white-clad figure who stood atop the roof of Ginsato Daifuken. His dark hair hung down in his face, contrasting sharply with his white attire. The long trenchcoat he wore flapped around him like the wings of a great pale bird. A silver pentagram dangled from his neck, and the black saya of a sword was attached to his hip, the bright blue of it's hilt glittering in the sun.

He drew in a deep breath and exhaled slowly. His narrow-liped mouth twisted in a sick grin, and he spoke a few soft words.

"The silver...it's here."

He pushed back one side of his coat, revealing a black shoulder-holster. It appeared empty, but as he dipped his hand into it, he pulled out a slip of paper inscribed with a black, arcane symbol. With a flick of his slender wrist, it slipped from his white-gloved hand and floated on the wind.

"Awaken," he whispered.

Light flared from the paper, and a dark being dropped from the sky next to the white clad man. It snarled and walked close, waiting for orders.

"Bring me the Silver. And kill the Brothers."

The lunch-bell rang loudly. The students arose from their seats in the classroom, Toji and his friends hanging back. They walked out after the bulk had moved out, and found Naota leaning against the wall. He looked over with dry amusement, a long leaf between his teeth.

"Took you long enough," he said, spitting out the leaf. "Why weren't you first out the door, Yoshitaka? 'Fraid I would enact my revenge?"

"No..." Toji said softly. "But I am sorry you got in trouble Naota-kun."

"It's not skin off my nose," Naota laughed. "Like a get out of jail free card, ne? So, back to the old spot?"

"Yeah," Hitomi said, already heading towards the doors. "Don't want Yuki and Jubei getting all nervous, right?"

"Yosh, Hitomi-sama!" the twins chorused, saluting.

"Let's just go...I'm hungry," Naota whined.

Angered, Kimiko walked out of the classroom until she felt a hand on her shoulder. She grabbed the hand and twisted it back, not knowing it was her brother that had touched her. She released his arm quickly but did not apologize for what she did. He raised an eyebrow and walked beside her, with his hands jammed into his pockets.

?Okasan?s pissed off. She started screaming about your uniform before I left.?

?Good. Let her scream and rant for all I damn well care.? Kimiko did not appreciate the way her mother wanted her to be more of a girl than a boy. ?Okasan can kiss Buddha?s ass for all I care. It?s not as if she?s tried to make me wear my uniform before.? Kimiko rummaged through her pockets and realized her yo-yo was missing. ?KUSO!?

Surprised, Koji looked to Kimiko. She had stopped and turned around, walking the other way.

?What happened?? He shouted to her, though she kept walking on back to the classroom. ?KIMIKO!?

With clenched fists, Kimiko bumped into a boy who wore glasses. She turned around and looked him up and down, then disregarded the action that she had put, until someone had turned her by force. Kimiko then looked this person up and down, watching the movement she used. She then knew this girl to be the other tomboy of the school.

?Instead of being an ama, why don?t you try apologizing??

?Let?s say I did and not.?

Kimiko turned to walk into the classroom but was quickly pulled back by the girl again. She was then held back by the boys, who knew that she couldn?t afford to do anything that week. The girl didn?t listen and quickly leaped towards Kimiko, but was stopped by Koji.

?Leave my sister alone.? Koji had said with a rough tone, while Kimiko snickered in the background. He turned swiftly and gave her an evil eye. ?Apologize.? His sister did nothing of the sort until she could feel her brother?s glare deepening into her mind.

?Sorry for bumping into you, kid.?

She cursed underneath her breath, calling her brother an idiot and walked into the classroom, grabbing her yo-yo. Kimiko flung it towards Koji but was skilled enough not to hit him. He grabbed the yo-yo and pulled it towards him, yanking Kimiko?s hand. She followed suit and cursed more, knowing her brother would either lecture her or something along the lines of telling her that her ways are not good for the new school. Kimiko merely sighed as she rolled the string back into her yo-yo and smirked, knowing that girl would be a good challenge, though she would not be a rival, as of yet.

Man... She really needs to calm down...

Koji walked into the cafeteria scratching absentmindedly at an itch that wasn't there. He looked up and across the room.

Koji- "Too many people..." He scratched at his neck and slowly began making his way to the food lines. After a quick assesment of the local goods, he bought a tuna sandwich and a pear. Koji opted not to wait in line to pay, and simply walked to a remote corner of the large room and sat, taking out his journal and started sketching an interesting idea for a picture. An giant oak tree with it's roots wrapped around a skyscraper. A perfect image of what the world would eventually come to.

Kimiko- "Why don't you sit at a table?" He looked up at his sister, smiling a bit.

Koji- "Why don't you sit on the floor?"

Kimiko- "You're so weird..." She sat on the floor.
