Cyriel
She hadn't gone to class as she was supposed to. Instead, she had taken the office note and tossed it into the trash. Why did she even bother to come today? She should have stayed home and slept, or trained. The sound of the bell broke Miya out of her dark mood; she knew that it was safe to come out into the hall now, as it was lunchtime. Opening the door of the janitor's closet, Miya slipped into the stream of students heading towards the cafeteria, but didn't join them. Instead, she slipped outside into the school yard, and leaned against one of the trees. She froze. A...figure...? She had felt this once before, one time in a different school, in a different country, when she had been much younger... But that had been the start. The feeling was familiar, and yet still held the mystery and excitement of the unknown. Miya couldn't help but look to the roof, but it was already empty, and showed no sign of anyone ever having been there. That was expected, after all. Still, she could still feel the slight tingle of electricity under her skin, an effect of the whisper of power that she was bound to. Miya smiled, almost in relief. It had been so long, and she had missed it. She had waited, never expecting to experience it again. She had lived only on the memory of that night, that second in which she had tasted the blood that had been drawn from her skin, the cool silver blade etching across her pale skin. That night, her fate had been sealed by that silver blade. Under her skirt, her own blade felt warm against her skin. Miya smiled again, tasting the name upon her lips, the one that had been etched in the blood she had shed as she had sworn... Dark Silver... Which must mean...that those of the Brotherhood were here as well...
Seibzeihn
Katsuhito took his plate from the cafeteria counter and raised an eyebrow at its contents. It doesn't...look edible. He sighed wearily, remembering what his previous school's food had been like. What did he expect, after all, a gourmet? Food was food, and Kat was hungry. Scanning the cafeteria swiftly, Katsuhito deduced that most of the seats were taken, and the ones that weren't were next to people he didn't know -- and with his luck, were probably being saved. But he didn't care; the people at this school didn't seem overly friendly anyways. Too devoted to their work, perhaps. Kat didn't know. Spotting a location, Kat walked past the lunch tables to a spot along the far wall. Setting his lunch down beside him, the youth placed his back against the brick and leaned back comfortably, eating slowly. Hmm, not as bad as it looks. And I'm more comfortable than I'd be at those tables, no doubt, he laughed to himself, quirking a quiet smile. Running a hand through his hair, he continued to watch his fellow students. After a short time, Katsuhito noticed the boy whose name he thought was Toji, along with his friends, enter the cafeteria. One of them was the student who had covered for Toji's note-passing, Naota. Kat gave them an offhanded nod, just to show he meant well. Following them was the girl whom Kat had spoken briefly with, also via note -- he remembered her name was Liari. While Toji and his friends looked comfortable enough with their environment, Liari stood out a bit. Perhaps it was the way she carried herself, or her hair (which Kat thought was very pretty). Either way, that was probably what had led to their conversation...since Kat was almost totally sure that he looked like an outsider, too. Skye
Liari looked down at the tray of food in her hands, and snorted. The food looked disgusting ? but hey, you gotta eat. She looked up, and scanned the cafeteria, making a mental note to bring her own lunch. She spotted Kat, and raised two fingers. She smirked, and then made her way towards him. ?Hey. Kat, right?? The guy nodded. ?Yeah. You?re Liari.? Liari was almost startled at the quality of his voice, but she nodded towards the outdoors. ?Let?s go eat in the courtyard ? all these pretty-dressed people are starting to get to me.? Kat nodded, and got up. The two walked in silence until they got outside, where Liari promptly sat down on the grass, and sat down her tray. Once again she glared in disgust at her skirt, and muttered, ?Remind me to change before going back to class...? Kat chuckled. ?What, the uniform too much?? Liari snorted. ?Exactly.
Ezekiel
Emi walked outside on the school grounds in front of her group of friends, all of them packed a lunch, adamant that the school lunches were not good for any normal human being's health. Tracks now changed on her player, Emi bopped her head to Orange Range, singing along happily to Asterisk. Her friends gave her odd looks, sighed, and shook their heads before sitting down in their usual spot under a tree. Emi flicked her long bangs from her eyes, ruffling the back of her clipped hair. "I think I need a re-dye...maybe go for a brighter red?" "No, Emi, you should go to your natural orange, it makes you stick out." "And suits that awful band you listen too..." "She should go black." "Black? Ew!" Emi blocked out the rest of the argument, sorry she had even started the whole thing off. She walked, hands stuck in deep pockets, over to the fence peering out at the grassy hills in the distance. A sigh escaped her lips and a sudden tingling came over her. Looking down, Emi noticed that her hands were shaking and a heat was pricking on her skin. She shook her head and dipped her hand into her top, pulling it out with a silver chain clasped in her palm. 'I don't remember putting this on...' she thought, wondering if her mother had put it out on purpose and Emi, ever the pleaser, had put it on automatically. Whatever it was, the chain was burning and Emi dropped it quickly watching it fall back against her shirt. She blinked and shook her hands, feeling compelled to go to the cafeteria. Her friends looked up, distracted form their heated argument long enough to question her, the only reply they got was a burnt palm and a nod. Her friends quieted and her nerves steadied, Emi made her way into the cafeteria alone to find him. After a few minutes of searching and parting a large crowd of thirteen year olds, Emi saw him in the queue. Taking a few deep breaths, she strode forward and reached out a hand, gripping his shoulder tightly. "Toji, I...I need to speak to you...I think." OOC Thought I'd put in a reference with the whole cross-chain thing, tell me if this isn't okay, babe.

Snapped back to reality like a slingshot, Toji couldn't help but do what he did next. Forgetting his fear of Hitomi, his ingrained manners, his love for Emi, he shoved past the two girls and bolted from the cafetaria, hand gripping tight around the cross that still burned to the touch. He could hear the yells of his friends behind him, but pushed them from his mind. All he knew is that he had to get away. Five minutes later, he slumped against an old tree on the edge of the campus. His breath came in ragged gasps from running so long. The school still loomed in the distance, glaring at him, demanding that he return. He ignored it, finding comfort in the trees cool shade. Hitomi spat. Toji had bolted off, Kami-sama knows why, and she had tried chasing after him. But he was gone, darted into the crowds. He was good at that. Years of bullying had left him quite spry and sneaky. "I swear, when I find him..." "Cool it, Hitomi," Naota said, sighing. "I'm sure he's got a good reason for running off." "Not good enough for shoving me, though," she grumbled, rubbing her shoulder. She didn't know Toji could hit so hard. "Speaking of reasons..." Naota turned to look at Emi. "Got one for following us, Princess?" Emi looked at Naota and narrowed her eyes. "Don't call me Princess, stretch. And I need to talk to Toji." "Why?" the twins chorused. "I...I just do." "Not good enough!" the twins sang. "Do they always do that?" Emi asked, turning back to Naota. "Yeah, pretty much..." The group was walking across the campus, trying to track down Toji, and having little luck. They passed by a high tree, when a sudden noise made them all stop. "Toji?" Yuki asked softly. "Yoshitaka, is that you!?" Hitomi snarled. "Yoshitaka?" came the blood chilling reply. The voice was slick and cold and slimy, like oil, or cold water, or death something they didn't want to think about. "Who's there!?" Hitomi shouted, looking around cautiously. "Little girl with hot blood...hot and sweet and ta~sty!" "All right, who's got the death wish?" Everyone was caught off guard at the shadow that dropped from the trees. And no one could've imagined that red, red blood would fly from Hitomi's body. A high scream rang out, and the shadowy man licked the crimson liquid from a long, dark claw. Orcus
Seiryuu had done nothing basically all of lunch. No one had seemed to interested in him, so he had jsut taken a seat by atree, puled out Tsubasa again, and started listening to Evolution. So it didn't grab his attention when Toji came speeding by, though Seiryuu did notice he was in pain. It was not untill Emi and Toji's friend's walked by chatting that Seiryuu thought something was going on. He merely disregarded it and went back to reading and music. Everything was peacful for a couple of minutes, and he almost fell drearily into sleep. However, when bloodcurling scream came from the direction they walked in he knew something was going on. He tore the headphones form his ear, stuffed the cd player into his bag, and ran in that direction. He couldn't find them, he wasn't sure where they had wondered off to. But a string of cries after that allowed him to find them easily. The popular girl, Emi he believed her name to be, had screamed. But she hadn't been the first one. For on the ground Seiryuu saw sprawled out the girl who had been toturing Toji earlier. Hitomi. Her clothes were stained a crimson red. He had to cover his mouth, becaus he suddenly felt like vomiting up. He looked towards Emi and saw that she was staring at something, frightened. Seiryuu looked over and saw something that should not have been there. Something that by all means shouldn't exist. Something that nightmare were made from. There was a plae faced man standing in front of them, and he helda look of bloodlust in his eyes. His hand...rather his claw was dripping blood, undoubtedly from Hitmomi. He was also humming to himself, a low, taunting, almost whimsical hum. "Tasty, tasty, hot and sweet! Now who's the next one I shall eat?" Seiryuu began to shake. Both with fear, and with anger. He mustered the strength to yell at the creature. "You bastard! How dare you kill someone, just to taste their blood!!" It looked at Seiryuu. "Maybe you first..." he looked to Emi, "Or maybe her." He then looked to the twins. "They look full of blood to. Seibzeihn
OOC: Uh-uh, no way am I letting this one die. It is not it's time. God, I hope the feeling's mutual with everyone else >< Katsuhito smirked at Liari's comment, allowing himself a brief smile. The day was crisp and clear, the wind gentle about Katsuhito's face, and he ate in company with Liari. It was nice, not always being alone all the time. But then again, the company would depend on how much enjoyment he received from their presence -- after all, there had been many times when Kat had been dragged out to a social event for one reason or another, and such things had completely ruined the day for him. But this was...different. From the way Liari conducted herself, Katsuhito began to see a reflection of his own mannerisms and preferences in her. It was... And then a heart-wrenching, gut-wrenching scream shook the air. Both students, Katsuhito and Liari, leaped to their feet. Katsuhito's stomach went into his throat as a quick wave of panic washed over him. What the hell was that... "Did you hear that?" Katsuhito turned to Liari, who looked just as startled as he. She nodded, words lost, and Kat rotated his body to face the direction of the sound's origin. He pointed with one hand. "It came from...over there..."
Onix
A scream, high and clear, ringing out the toll of a bell. Toji's head snapped towards the source of the sound. It came from behind him, and he thought he could see figures near a tall tree far from the forest. Another scream rang out almost immediately, and fire burned in his heart again. Emi! He didn't know why, didn't know how, but he was sure it was Emi who had screamed. But a flame in his heart, and a sudden, violent vision made him sure that this was true. A vision of blood...death...screams. Of a woman laying on the ground, bleeding her life away. His breath quickened as he ran, as did his heart. Screams and shouting were in front of him, figures milling about. As he drew closer, he began to distinguish them...Naota, the Twins, Jubei...but where was Hitomi? And who were the others...? Then one moved, one standing near the tree, and screams filled the air once more. One of the twins flew back, and the other was lifted into the air by the dark shadow. Toji pushed himself harder, feeling the cross burn around his neck. He had to save them... At any cost. ***** The group could only stare in horror as the twisted nightmare of a man stood, Fuma's head held in his wicked claws. The boy dangled above the ground, weeping as he stared at the monstrous creature. He was going to die...he knew it. He was going to die, just like Hitomi. And when he was dead, it was going to kill Kuma, and Jubei, and Yuki, and Naota, and Emi. "Let go!" The creature turned, mouth twisting in a scowl. Its pitch black eyes widened in shock as Kuma colided with him, sending him crashing to the ground. Fuma dropped to the grass, barely feeling the dull pain that shot through him. He could only watch as the monster batted Kuma away once more, blood spraying from the twin's shoulder as he flew through the sky. "Kuma!" Fuma shrieked, voice flooded with grief and pain like nothing anyone had ever heard. "Kuma, no!" he cried again. His brother was going to die. His brother, his best friend, the one person in the world he truly loved and trusted...he was going to die, and Fuma couldn't do a thing about it. The shadowy thing rose to its feet, body twisting in unnatural ways. The black voids it called eyes slid from Fuma to Kuma and back again. Purple and streaked with blood, its tongue slithered out and dangled in the air. Reddish drool streaked from its warped mouth. "So much...so much blood..." At last, its eyes settled on the prone Kuma. And it slowly advanced on the boy, raising its claws high for a fatal blow. Kuma stared at it, blue eyes spread wide in silent horror, gasping for breath. Tears streaked from his eyes as he realized his fate. "Kuma!" The monster's head jerked back as Fuma's arms wrapped around its neck. Fuma, the friendy, smiling, laughing Fuma, was gone. And in his place was a feral shell, fueled by rage, despair, and grief. The nightmare dropped to its knees at the pressure of Fuma's grip, choking the breath from its elongated throat. "I won't let you! I won't let you! I won't let you!" Fuma shrieked, letting out the furious cry over and over again. But the beast wasn't done...and the terrible crack that resounded as it twisted Fuma's arm from its neck was proof. Fuma let out a high scream of agony as his arm was wrenched around. It dropped from the nightmare's neck, and the thing threw him back with a single undulation of its twisted body. The thing rose again, giving no impression of injury or even noticing the fact that Fuma had tried to kill it. Only the bland, hungry look that no being should wear. It staggered forward towards Kuma, raising its claws again. "K...Kuma!" Fuma sobbed. "Don't...don't kill him! Please!" The demon paused, slowly turning around. For a moment, a flicker of hope flashed in Fuma's eyes. Then he followed the thing's gaze...towards the charging figure that could only be one person. "Toji, stay back!" Emi screamed. "Yoshitaka!" And then, Toji did something that no one had ever expected. He didn't stop, didn't listen, didn't even miss a step. He pushed up through the air, and brought down his foot square against the monster's chest. It fell back, as did he. The congregation stared at him. Just like Fuma had been replaced by the thing of grief, the Toji they knew had vanished. No longer was there a look of fear. Gone was the loser, the wimp, and the coward. His sunglasses glittering in the summer heat, and his eyes burned with something else. A cold fire, a dark fire. A silver flame. "So..." the nightmare hissed. "The Cross emerges..." ***** Well, isn't this fun? Looks like Toji has found his inner strength, ne? Skye
Liari and Kat rushed down the hall, feet pounding as screams rang through their heads. Liari nearly stumbled as the ring on the chain around her neck began to burn. Quickly regaining her footing, she and Kat sped on, sliding to a halt at the scene of carnage. Liari then heard, ?So? the Cross emerges?? Liari let loose a cry of fury as she saw the wounded on the floor. Her eyes blazed with non-withheld anger, and she turned to the beast Toji had knocked to the floor. Her hands clenched, and she lunged. One hand shot out, and her fingers dug into the monster?s face. She twisted violently. The thing cried out, and one massive arm shot out, swiping her away. She slammed into a wall, and slumped to the ground, her breathing ragged. She struggled to stand, and found Kat?s arms helping her to her feet. She leaned on him, her anger now burning in a cool fire behind her eyes. ?Toji, we have to destroy it!? Liari nearly collapsed as she spoke the words, her rage building higher. She winced as she felt a ripple of pain go through her back. Engel
Shin heared screams from the yard, and saw signs of battle and blood. As he professed in this kind of thing, fighting, he'd go see what was up. He let his legs carry him with swift finesse. He had been on the Track and Field team at a time, but gave that up. As Shin rounded the corner, he saw more blood, and something...unnatural. He felt a sort of inner fire burn inside of him, like he had to fight it. The sight of the people under distress kindled that fire to greater heights. He had to fight, it was in his blood. He forgot any kind of weapon. If you have a weapon, you limit your mind to that one weapon. If you have no weapon, you're thinking 360 around the guy, thinking about how to use your hands and feet, shins, your head. Your head is the general, so let it command. Shin reviewed what he had learned over the years, as it all flooded out of that section of his mind, the primal mind, where his survival skils were stored. However, he remembered. The best style is no style, like quicksand, able to flow and form around your opponet. The best form is no form. Shin, with this in mind, stood in front of Toji while he recovered from his kick. "Nice kick, man. Just make sure that he doesn't come back at you faster." Shin told Toji, as the thing got back up, its heavy form of attack switching to light and powerful. It rushed at him. Shin threw his leg out in a straight kick at the thing's kneecap, which bent inward. It crumpled, then got back up, like nothing happened. The shadowy flesh reformed. "Bring it, fucker. I speak English better than Japanese, but I also speak Kickassenese." Shin taunted the nightmare, and it switched back to heavy. It swung a massive claw at Shin's midsection. He jumped up, and landed on the claw. It sweeped at him again. Time thrust... Shin's hand slammed into the nightmare's stomach. To Stop thrust! The nightmare pretended to stagger backwards, but sweeped through part of Shin's stomach with his massive claw. Shin held his stomach, then leaned up. He'd need some help.
Sakura
Lai sat on the roof, she breathed in deeply as a particularly cool wind blew past. Along with the cool air came cries and shouting. Lai blinked and ran over to the side, she couldn't see from here so she ran toward the door. Lai took one look and saw that there was a tremendous amount of students trying to get outside through that way. Lai cursed and ran back to the edge, she leapt off and landed onto another roof. She looked around cautiously, keeping low so none of the teachers would see her. Lai scampered lightly across the roofs. She spotted the commotion and stood straight, the wind tugged at her clothes and she could see the blood, a group of students and a strange monster. Lai felt something burn in her pocket and withdrew her sheathed silver dagger that she carried for protection. It was hot. Lai looked back at the battle raging and saw a guy fighting it barehanded before getting slashed with a claw from the monster. Lai hurried to get over there, when she stood on the final roof before the yard, she tied the sheath to her belt. She unsheathed the weapon and jumped high into the air, putting her weight in her torso so she would go forward. As she fell she threw the dagger at the monster, the weapon imbedded itself in its claw and Lai did an aerial flip to land on the ground safely in a crouched position. "Need some help?" Lai grinned. She charged forward quickly and attached herself to the monster's claw, she tugged at the hilt of her dagger and it slid free, blood came from the wound. Lai made a disgusted face and back-handspringed to the others. She recognised many of the students, some from class and others she'd seen in the halls. Ezekiel
OOC I know I said I wanted out of this, love, but it's gotten too good. ^_^; Emi watched in horror as the blood spilled around her. It pooled around her shoes, the warmth of its wetness seeping through the material. She looked down and blanched, jumping back from the puddle of crimson. She saw Toji rush forward, it just didn't seem real. He jumped at the monster, a perfect kick right on target. It was inhuman, and it certainly wasn't the normal Toji. Then more students came; Emi noted that it was all the new ones who she had only met in this same day. Something burned against her skin and she whimpered, clutching to her throat. "Need some help?" Emi looked up and saw a girl, Lai was her name, and was awed by the site of the dagger she carried. 'These people aren't kids...they're warriors.' At first the thought seemed absurd, but then... They were so incredible, all of them fought together as one solid force against this monster. This beast. Emi knew she had to do something, the burning was becoming more intense and for a second the thought of launching herself at the monster seemed like the simple answer to her problem. Her logic pushed it back, Emi knew she couldn't fight and there was no point in pretending. But up until ten minutes ago monsters didn't exist either. Before she knew what was happening, Emi was on her feet rushing at the monster at speeds she never knew she could. She shouted for one of the boys, Shin, to help. He knew what she was aiming for as she glanced at the monster?s snarling face. He crouched and cupped his hands just as Emi jumped. Her left foot hit Shin's hands squarely in the cupped palms and she was launched high into the air. Her right leg swung round and a look of pure concentration was fixed firmly in place on Emi's usually soft features. She struck the creature on the side of the head with such a force she was set off in a spiral, landing on the ground before stumbling into Shin. The monster reeled back and toppled against a tree, a barrage of hits now coming in from Lai. Emi stood, shocked at what she had just done. She reached down and felt the stinging cold of metal against her hand. The monster barely dodged one of Lai's attacks and stared, "The chain as well, I seem to have struck lucky..."
Engel
Shin caught Emi as she stumbled. He smiled at her quickly, then went over to the nightmare, grabbing its neck. He used his momentum to swing himself forward, landing on the thing's neck. He beat on its skull like a drum, and slapped it on the back, laughing in spite of the danger. "Dah dah dah...this is like those things you see in some of those movies that we had to watch, ya know, with the broncos and the guys on top of 'em? I bet this snarly guy," Shin's fingers rapped on the monster's skull. "Could rip most of 'em to pieces. But me, I ride it like a kid does a dog." Shin kept doing this, until it irritated the nightmare so much, that it took its arm, and formed a saber with it, slashing at him. He ran up the thing's skull, and jumped off, kicking it squarely in the nose, watching the blade cut into its back. "Dumbass, you shouldn't cut yourself with blades and other sharp objects." Shin taunted again. He kept taunting so it would attack him, whil Lai got in her attacks. He smiled as he had no weapons of any sort at the moment. He ran forward, and lept into the air, his legs propelling from the left side to his right like a helicopter blade, smashing into the thing's face. Blood leaked down his legs from the block of the creature. However, the cuts were shallow, and the nightmare hadn't blocked all of his kicks. Shin went in for another assult, the sun shining on his face fiercely, his features distorted by a look of rage and laughter, which was a paticularly odd expression. His legs leapt into the air, torso and arms following. Shin's feet smashed into the creature's chest, and his front half flipped forward. He grabbed its arms as he went forward in a perfect front flip, pulling its arms over and above its head, wrentching it to the ground.
Sakura
Lai held the dagger readily in her palm, the blade was facing downward and she attacked with diagonal slashes. The monster was saying something about the chain, the cross, the blades and the rings. Lai didn't have them register in her brain as she was too busy concentrating on defeating this thing, whatever it was. Lai flipped away from it to survey the damage she had caused, there were slashes all over the body of the monster. Shin took over as she rested, flipping the large monster over. She looked for a particular weak spot she could hit and saw the opening under its arm. Lai charged forward again, she twirled the dagger in her fingers so that the blade pointed upward and grabbed on of the arms of the monster, she stabbed the dagger into the soft flesh where the arm connected to the shoulder. The monster let out a loud howl of anger and pain and Lai got out of its arm range as it flayed wildly. Shin was dodging each of them carefully but was hit by one and flew back slightly. He got up again and was ready. Lai could feel eyes on her and looked to see Emi looking at her in surprise. Lai guessed it was pretty surprising to see a group of new kids to the school beating up a monster. "Shin, can you hold him?" Lai asked him. "I'll try!" he said. Lai ran forward as well as Shin did. Shin grabbed the monster's arm and flipped it again, Lai ran in and stabbed it in the right eye. It roared furiously and slapped her away. She cried out and flipped so she didn't land heavily. Lai felt her ribs and winced, she knew that she'd broken one or two and would get a large bruise later. "Attack from the right!" Lai told them, it was now blind in the right eye and now its right side is most vulnerable.
Corey
OOC: Sorry ULX, been busy. I'm in it for the long haul now. ??? Kimiko- "Koji!" She slapped him hard. He jerked and woke up from the half doze he'd been in. His eyes were cloudy. "Don't you feel it?!" He brought his hands to his eyes and rubbed. A sharp pain screamed from his back. Koji- "Ahhhhh! What the hell?!" Kimiko shrugged but looked very agitated. Kimiko- "I don't know, I have it too... But it feels wrong... Unnatural... Koji.. We have to go!" He stood, coping quickly with the diminishing pain, and ran. Kimiko kept pace. The hallways seemed too bright. Too long... Koji- "Where are we going?!" We'll know where to go... Kimiko- "We'll know! I can feel something Koji!" He could too. An acrid lump of pain sitting in the middle of his chest is what he felt. It hurt to breathe. To think, to run... But they had to. Something was happening and they needed to be there. But where was ther- Koji- "Out here!!!" He slmmed out of a pair of doors, cracking the glass on one. He stopped, Kimiko almost slammed into him, and looked around. She grabbed his arm and pointed across the landscape. Kimiko- "There!" He saw a group of students seemingly attacking something that could only have come from a horror novel. Who was that on the ground? Koji- "Liari..." He reached up and pulled the silver ring and chain from his neck. "Ready yourself sister." The ring began to grow hot in his hand as the two siblings took off across the grounds.
Cyriel
This was insanity - pure, unrivaled, bloody insanity...but she liked it. Miya approached slowly, watching as the group of students fought an indescribeable beast. Blood ran everywhere, and she couldn't tell whose was whose. She could feel it, though. Silver ran in their blood...and it was not difficult to find, now that it had been revealed, awoken, uncovered. Miya knew that eventually, this group would have to die. The Brotherhood was fated to die at the hand of the Dark Silver. But is now the time? she wondered to herself, as the monster screeched and howled in pain. She walked faster, picking up speed, and as she neared the haggard figures, she could feel the tingle of their magic on her skin, confirming her suspicions. Silver was out in full force, or so it would seem. Now running, she pulled out her blade, releasing it from its binds beneath her uniform. The hilt was warm and smooth, reassuring her with its silence. She leapt over the broken ground, literally flying over the girl Lai. Shin was still struggling to hold the monster, but he loosened his hold in surprise as he saw Miya leaping through the air like another demonic figure. The moment of confusion was all the beast needed; it twisted, throwing Shin away from it. The monster started to advance on all four limbs, Shin directly in its sights. Miya sighed as she landed on the creature's back, feeling the rough texture of leathery skin. Her blade felt no difference - it sunk it with a whisper, as smoothly as silk. The creature didn't even seem to notice. At least, not until Miya twisted and yanked the blade out, completely severing the monster's left arm in an effusion of blood, bone, and chunks of flesh. It screamed, blood gurgling in its throat, and Miya hastened to get out of its reach. She sliced open the other eye as she leapt from its back, and retreated until she was behind Toji and Shin. She waited to find the next opening...
Onix
Toji watched as the monster writhed in agony, feeling grim satisfaction at it's pain. It hurt Fuma, it hurt Kuma...it killed Hitomi. And he wanted it to suffe for it. And so, the satisfaction rose in him as it shrieked and grimaced. But something didn't feel right... It was faking. He knew it as soon as the thought appeared. The thing wasn't really in pain, no much anyway. He could tell from the exaggerated movements, the high shrieking, and it's eyes. It's whole, uninjured eyes. No! "Everybody, get back!" Toji screamed. The others looked briefly back, and suddenly the creature moved, batting the girl with the knife to the ground. Shadowy smoke rose from its former wounds as they vanished. The only remaining marks - a scar over its eye, and a missing limb. "Miya..." it hissed. The girl who had just arrived looked stunned. "Why do you hurt me, Miya? The Master won't be pleased..." She gaped, stammering for a response. The creature didn't stop to listen, dodging a kick from the English-speaking boy with far greater speed than it had shown before. It had been toying with them. "Nigero*! Nigero!" he called. "It was just toying with us! NIGERO!" "Too late, little Cross..." The thing leapt high, crashing down in front of Toji like a great, feral cat. But when its claws ripped through Toji's skin, it was nothing like his kitten. The pain was incalculable. Blackness flooded his vision as he was knocked off his feet. The wind whipped around him, but he barely noticed. There was just the pain. Stars bloomed in front of his eyes as his head cracked against the ground. Pain flooded him in a fresh wave, and the darkness exploded around him. Everything faded into the gloom... ***** Stars. Stars winked high above in the velvet blue of the dark sky. Toji felt himself being pulled up...not by hands, simply pulled...like he had no weight. The city was dark and grim, forboding in front of him. The stars glimmered and shone, adding to the crisp streetlights. It was quiet and extremely cold. But no misty breath formed in front of him...just the cold. But, like always, the calm was shattered by screams. A woman's shriek rang out, and Toji was pulled to the scene like a puppet, or
a ghost
something carried on the wind. Nightmares, freakish things like the one that he was fighting, were lunging all over the barren courtyard. A woman sat, crawling back as one advaned towards here. It raised a hand high to cut her in two... In a spray of blood, its arm flew off. The cut was clean, made by a blade honed so fine it could split hairs. The black clad
man holding
said blade stood in front of the thing, glittering silver blade still held aloft. The waved, mysterious blade had a long hilt wrapped around his hand in silver tendrils. The creature howled in pain, and this time it was real. Thick black blood squirted from the severed wound. The swordsman rose and turned to face the beast. He was dressed all in dark colors in a vaguely ninja-esque style, complete with face covers. He said something, Toji was sure he was speaking, but he couldn't hear what. And just as he finished, he was gone.
In a flash, the beast was cleaved in twain. The cut appeared right down the middle, and blood exploded from its wound as it fell apart. Smoke curled from its corpse and it began to quickly melt away. The swordsman stood on the other side of the monster, black blood dripping from his sword.
But quickly, the other beasts appeared...as did several more humans... ***** Man, I hate to cut Toji's little "dream-sequence" short, but if I do the whole thing now...well, this post we be about ten times as long as it is now. And that would be bad...probably. So, yeah. And is anyone REALLY surprised that I made the monster toying with the lot of you? Heh...I have much planned for this little altercation, and I can't have the baddie going down so quickly. But don't worry...a little more good-guy-thrashing and then...well, don't want to spoil it just yet... Oh, and "nigero" is Japanese for "run" (in the command form). In case you were wondering. -ULX
Orcus
Seiryuu was amazed. He had thought the others were doing quite the job of kicking the creaure's ass. But he had been wrong. This creature had felt nothing, it was almost as if they hadn't attacked it. He cursed himself for the fear that kept him from joining the others in their assault on the beast. They all worked together, had such a bond... Seiryuu thoughts were quickly dispelled as he watched Toji collapse to the ground, crimson blood flowing freely from his body, seeping into the ground, staining the beast. Toji was unconcious, his eyes rolled into his head. Emi screamed, and the creature howled in joy. Toji's body appeared to fall as if weightless, as if time itself had stopped to honor his bravery. Seiryuu watched in horror when Toji finally struck the ground. Horror soon became frustration, frustration soon became blind anger. The Silver Pendant burned ferociously around his neck, almost as if fueling the rage within him. Though crimson lay everywhere, his eyes were blinded with silver. He felt...not powerful, for he knew that he was no match for the beast...but like he was a part of something bigger, like all of them around him were to. And that if they were going to fight, he would to. He ran full on at the beast, knowing fully well that his attack would do nothing, but he had do make his presence known. He had to let this thing know that he had another enemy to deal with. "You..you son of a bitch! Eat my fist...you monstrosity!!" He fist collided with the creature skull, and it stumbled backwards. It tilted it's head up at him and ran to the left, then sprang into the air, landing on top of Seiryuu. It knocked him to the ground, driving it's nails into his chest. Seiryuu cried in agony. The creature mocked him. "Agggghhh!!! S...some...someone, pl...ple..please h..hh..help me...Before it kills me! Hahahahahahahaha!!" Seiryuu began to feel light-headed, and quickly looked around for help. He caught a glimpse at Toji's body and found that this sight drew away from his body. Toji's body was engulfed in a silver aura, the cross hovering over his body. OOC: Hope that's aright ULX.
Skye
Liari watched in horror as Toji, and then Seiryuu were felled by the demon. Her eyes flashed in anger, and she growled, loudly, ?Kimiko, Koji, lets kick some monster ass!? She gently pushed away from Kat, and slipped the ring off the chain around her neck, and onto her finger. The pain in her back was less, much less, and she was no longer feeling lightheaded. She rushed forward, ramming her shoulder into the side of the things head. It?s head snapped sideways, and Liari reached for the trapped Seiryuu. His hand reached for hers, and she pulled. A ram from beside her flipped the monster off of the trapped teen, and Seiryuu was pulled away from it. Liari stumbled backwards at the amount of force, and she and Seiryuu fell back in a heap. Scrambling up, their eyes were drawn to Toji?s body ? - and the hovering cross. Liari felt the ring on her finger grow warm, and then it began to glow with the same silver aura. Koji was shaking his head, and rubbing his shoulder from the ram. Kimiko was watching her own ring, and Liari moved nearer to the two. As she did so, her power slowly got stronger, and the ring glowed brighter. Liari whispered, ?What is going on??
Seibzeihn
Katsuhito felt strangely empty, devoid of fear and pain. He was the last one to move into the monster's range, having stood behind the rest as they attacked. Watching carefully, gauging the monster's speed and potential weaknesses, he leaped forward lightly and began running. Sailing beneath the monster's outstreched arm, he planted his fist deep into its side, knocking it off-balance. Avoiding a slash to his head, Kat rolled and kicked upwards, landing a solid blow to the creature's legs. Narrowly avoiding the monster's stomp, Kat leaped backwards and sought to put a bit of distance between himself and his foe. What's going on...? What is all of this? What fate weaves us, and no one else, together? Katsuhito's thoughts vanished like the stain of breath upon a cold window as his eyes came to rest upon the youth called Toji. Borne upwards by some silvery light, a glittering cross fluttering against his chest, the young man appeared to be in a state of semi-consciousness. Something else caught his eye, and Kat turned to see several others grouped together, each bearing objects that glowed with the same light as Toji. One, Kat recognized as Liari, the girl he had met earlier. As he watched them, a strange sensation began to creep over him -- Kat felt an unseen weight against him, a pressure around his temples and cheekbones. He clutched at his head and dropped to his knees. When the pressure had subsided, Katsuhito raised his hands to his face. Before touching his skin, Kat's hands came into contact with a cold silver surface. Katsuhitp immediately recognized it as an ornate mask, one of his most treasured possessions since he had been little. Where it had come from, he did not know...nor how it had suddenly appeared before him. Cold silver inlaid with black and blue etchings, the mask fit comfortably over his face, the metal lips straightened in a passive line. Mystified but feeling somehow confident at the same time, Katsuhito turned hooded eyes unto Toji once more. OOC: Hope this is OK, as well. Kat's mask would look something like...well, seen the Kingdom of Heaven previews? Something like the mask that the King wears.
Engel
Shin saw Toji stricken down. This fueled his rage even more, and his blows became more precise and deadly, though they still didn't do much of anything. He would fight until he fell from exaustion or death, no injury would stop him. He began feigning his opponent, goading him into his circle of attack. His legs sweeped at the nightmare's face, striking only the nightmare's claw. Sweat dripped from his hair, pulling it down, and spiking back up as he kept striking. He knew his legs or his health would fail him, and then the other would be gone too. He kept fighting to give the others time to flee, or help in some way. Several more strikes, legs were burning with cuts and bruises, and plain exaustion. He looked at Toji again, to see him with a silver light around him, in a semi concious state. Two others had the same light, one with a ring, the other, a mask. Shin's fighting ability gave on a little longer, enough for him to pull away, before being cleaved in half by the monsterous weight of the sword like claw. He knelt on his left knee, right knee up. He stood up shakily. His hands seemed to be pulled out from his control, and they were thrust forward. His hands were bathed in a silver light, which spread across his whole body. Silver threads leapt from his fingers, entwining into silver metal. It formed...a blade. It was a katana, with a silver wave pattern on the blade. The hilt was black snakeskin, with a single, wide and long thread of red silk wound once around it. It felt so familiar, he had it for so long. It was time to forget the 360 of attack he thought he had, and take up his heritage, and strike down the shadows with the tainted light of the silver.
Ezekiel
OOC Hey, don't forget about me. Toji was hit. Blood, again, so much blood. Can't breathe...burning...chain so heavy. Emi stumbled but brought her eyes back into focus, while the others went all out on the monster; she dropped to her hands and knees and crawled over to the bleeding Toji. A single tear dropped form her eye as she stumbled again, digging her nails into the ground to keep from losing her balance. "Toji..." Her voice seemed so far away, like an echo in her head. She shook her mind clear once again and wiped a hand over Toji's forehead. Then the light, that blinding and warming light. Toji's cross dissolved from around his neck and hovered over his chest, its radiating warmth bathed Emi's face and she had to sit back. She closed her eyes and leant back, feeling as if she was being pulled into the earth itself. Warmth. A smile touched her lips and she opened her eyes once again seeing her silver chain hovering gently over her shirt, it's glow lighting her face and chest. "Silver..." she gasped as the light that had now enveloped Toji surrounded herself. From black came the light and from cold came warmth. When she opened her eyes again she was clutching Toji's hand.
Sakura
OOC: Don't forget about me either. Lai saw the silver glow surrounding the others. She looked at Toji and Emi, she was holding his hand as he was torn up on the ground. She gritted her teeth, she couldn't believe the monster had been playing with them. She held her ribs, the bruising had already appeared and the ribs were still broken. She had been working hard to take it down, so others could run, and the entire time the thing had been toying around with them. Lai felt her right hand tremble, the hand that clutched the dagger. Her arm stretched itself out and the weapon lengthened itself until it was a sword, it had the same pattern on the hilt but the blade was whole now. The entire thing was silver, the hilt was darker than the blade but still silver. She felt more powerful with the longer weapon. She brandished it and charged forward, her courage felt renewed and she was ready to face the thing again. Her body ached from exhaustion but she pushed on, she had to do this, everyone was being so strong and brave, even the popular girl that had been nice to her, Emi. Her courage helped her become stronger, she worked alongside Shin, he also wielded a silver blade like hers. "The Brotherhood of Silver, just like the story..." Lai thought silently, it was her favourite story come to life, and she was part of it.
Cyriel
These children...these poor children. They really don't have a clue, she thought disparagingly. Even though she was the same age as most of them, give or take a few years, Miya felt ages older and wiser. They were all so innocent... Too innocent. She smiled. Most of them were on the ground, injured and bleeding. They had put up a good fight, but would no doubt die if the beast had its way, which it was planning on no doubt. However, this one made her angry...or annoyed to say the least. As if she didn't already know the Master's plans, but this thing presumed to pass judgement on her. It even presumed to be familiar with her, calling her by name. My name passed over that filthy creature's tongue. Her grip on her blade tightened. Oh yes, she was very annoyed. "Do you know me, monster?" she asked, her voice contemptuous. It watched her, digging in its feet for better grounding, readying for its next attack. "You betray us, then?" it hissed, barely understandable. Suddenly, two figures brushed past her, charging for the dark beast. Miya watched as Lai and Shin attacked the monster, their blades pointed. And her skin tingled once more, feeling their power alive in the air. Her own blood livened in answer, feeling the call of the silver that surrounded her in the form of these children. But the thing was fast, and it moved. But Miya was right there with it.
Revelation
Watching all the chaos take place gave Kimiko a raging anger flow through her body. The sound of pain, the sight of blood, and the thickening of power that rose through the air gave Kimiko a sickening feeling that made her want to explode. Koji knew this and tried his best to calm her down, as did Liari, though neither of them could do anything. ?Kimiko, don?t do it. Remember what happened last time.? Her cousin pleaded with her. ?Please, Kimiko. I am begging you not to do it.? ?Listen to her, you twit! If you do it now, there?s no telling what?ll happen!? Angrily, Kimiko turned to her family and unhooked the chain. She dangled the ring in front of her brother and cousin?s face, showing them the first of the three rings. ?This is what brought us here. This is what holds us together. If it weren?t for the Silver Rings, we wouldn?t even be here.? Kimiko studied their faces closely, just as she always did. They showed signs of near defeat and fear that she would not return. ?The Band saved my life once and I owe it to the spirit who lives in it to protect those who are with the Brotherhood of Silver. We are the Silver Rings, more commonly known as the Three Musketeers, no?? Sighing their defeat and taking off their own rings, they all held it in a circle. ?The Silver Rings of three- A band to hold the dragon that rides the wolf.? ?On the count of three, we slip it on. One. Two. Three!? The last sound heard was Koji?s voice, declaring the ring to be put on. A rush of fire passed through her body, images torn through the surfaces, and a cold tingle of something following the fire, slowly integrating with it. Soon, the three stood and silver passed through them, coursing through their blood, greatening their powers and stamina, their speed and their stealth, and finally their heart and soul. ?My brethren, are we ready??
