Kairi
Rubedo turned his gaze back towards the children who were now being gathered by their respective parents...as much as Reoan's offer intreged him; she as a fellow guardian certainly knew of the appeal that would course through his being at the opportunity. At the same time however...he was very dissapointed... "so..." as he lifted himself up from the ground and finally turned to face the woman before him. As she leaned up against the tree with her arms crossed, awaiting his answer...he finally got a full feeling of the former Guardian. The depth of her eyes were incredible. Water from the tree branches above gently slid down Reoan's face as Rudebo simply stood in the pouring rain, his red hair falling over his face, and his clothes becoming wet. He just didn't care...such meaningless things didn't phase him anymore. It was now twice in one day that Rubedo had met a Guardian...their energy was like his own. But he wasn't impressed...he had come for something greater. She was indeed lovely...even as dark as she preseved herself to be...it was appealing to his neutral nature. However, he again was left numb...not satisfied with this gesture. Finally completing his statement..."can you tell me anything about these officials?" he said in a professional manner as he lit another cigarette. "A contact of mine will give you the necessary information needed...I'm sorry, but I cannot tell you anything more." she slowly responded...still leaning up against the tree. Everyone in the park had left due to the rain...leaving just the two of them. Rubedo let out a long sigh as he looked heavenward, trying to take in its sweet and cool taste...it seemed like a distant memory when he used to take great pleasure in the noise to the water droplets that surrounded him. He truly was....alone... "You dissapoint me my lady..." he finally responded...catching Reoan off guard as he took another puff from his cigarette. "Either you...or your associate named Jacob lied to me...promising something new for myself, another way to live...but even you...a fellow Guardian hasn't learned a thing. Apparently...I'm just another puppet for you to carry out your wishes...a coward to do it yourself." Reoan's expression showed a sense of anger...and yet...part of her understood... "You of all should understand that better than anyone...I have heard of you before...your eyes give it away mistress..." as Rubedo suddenly did a slight bow. "We...set apart from the rest...are sent out alone to fight for a cause that was never our own. And yet we continue to do so...for that is what we were ment to do...never shown another way. I came here for something more mistress..." Reoan was about to respond when she was interrupted by Rubedo yet again..."I will do as you ask...I'm sure your associate will be able to find me easily just as you found me in Athena." finishing up his cigarette...he threw it into the street and looked back to Reoan who had now stood upright from the tree, her arms still crossed. "I'm sure I'll see you again soon mistress......." Rubedo proclaimed in a gentle, and yet respectful manner as he motioned to leave her presence. As he continued to walk away...he didn't bother to hear any reply from her..nothing she could say would change anything at the moment. She offered nothing but a job... Rubedo turned his head slightly around his shoulder to get another glimpse at her...the dark complextion still there...hiding underneathe the shelter of the trees' branches. Even due the distance...through the mist of the rain falling down upon them and their line of sight...Reoan could see the burning behind Rubedo's golden eyes, the aura surrounding him before still resided...never fading. He turned his glance away as he walked down the street, lighting yet another cigarette...he was even growing numb to those as well. Looking upwards yet again...letting the rain brush down his face. The sky was a dark grey...showing the signs of a lightning storm approaching. Rubedo didn't know if it was the rain...or a single tear sheading from his eye...the void within continued. Longing for something more.... Letting his head fall back down, bringing back his attention to reality...his eyes focused...awaiting for Reoan's messenger...preparing himself for the task at hand. Anne
It had been late by the time Jane and Camilla go home. ?I am gonna go take a shower.? Camilla yelled to Jane who was in her room. ??kay. I will make sure I turn on the water to annoy you.? She shot back. ?Camilla shook her head and headed into the bathroom. Ten minutes later she emerged with steam streaming out after her. She wore a pair of men black boxer and a small tan top. Her long blue hair spilt around her damp after she dried it with a towel. The towel was draped over both of her shoulders. She came out on flopped on the couch. Her bare feet came shifted then on the side of her. Jane came out of the bedroom in a tight red dress. ?How do I look?? She spun around. Camilla gave a whistle. ?Looking good. What?s the occasion?? ?Date. Now which shoe?? She lifted one foot up and showed the shoe with the dress. ?This one,? She set the foot down and than lifted the other, ?or this one?? ?The first one. With how or should I say how many?? She grinned at Jane. ?Actually only one tonight. The guy name is Fred, I think.? Jane gave a shrug. ?Anyways he is taking me to a fancy restaurant. One of those five stars.? ?I see. So do you want me to call you about the normal time?? Camilla asked over her shoulder. She had begun the legendry search for the remote. ?Oh yes please, that would be a doll of you. You know how I get bored sometime.? Camilla laughed at her. ?Talk to you later. She blew her friend a kiss. Camilla pretended to catch it in the air and place it in her pocket. She winked at her friend, ?I will save it for later when I get lonely.? She watched Jane laugh out the door and she flipped on the TV. ?Wonder what garbage is on tonight?? lil kitsune boy
'Oh, not bad.' Ben said, smiling as he started to walk around the angel. 'You doubt my abilities?' the angel asked, following his movements. 'Nah,' Ben replied, chuckling, 'I'm just not hungry.' He spun the guitar case around his waist, flipping open the latches and pulling a katana from a space under the guitar inside. Continuing the momentum, he swung the sword, stopping not more than half an inch from the angel's throat. 'Not bad, human.' the angel said, nonchalantly. He reached up and plucked the sword out of Ben's grasp, who spun around and pulled his gun from the angel's hand. They both turned, frozen, as the angel held the sword's point against Ben's chest and Ben held both guns pointed straight at the angel's face. 'So,' Ben asked, 'What's you name, anyway?' 'Azrael.' the angel replied. 'Right,' Ben nodded, pulling his guns away, 'So, why am I so important to you guys?' Azrael stood straight, lowering the katana. 'You are a capable warrior,' Azrael said, 'You can help us defeat Reoan.' 'The psycho Guardian?' 'You know the Guardians?' Azrael asked. 'Yeah, a buddy of mine is one,' Ben told him, 'Thought I was one, too.' 'You are no Guardian.' Azrael stated. 'Yeah,' Ben said, 'That's what I...' 'You don't have the discipline.' Azrael interrupted. Ben holstered his guns and took his sword from the angel. 'Shut it.' he said, walking away. 'You are going to help us!' Azrael called after him. 'I'll think about it!' Ben shot back, before he disappeared into the night.
Redemption
Raven flopped into her comfy office chair inside of her office at the Athens AIS Headquarters. She had just given the Chief her reports on the three Italian big-wigs they had caught hours earlier. Now the AIS would be getting more funding - maybe she'd get a payrise. Raven swivelled around to look out of the 20-storey building's window. Dark storm clouds covered the sky as the sun began to set. A soft knock echoed through the room. Nathan opened the door slowly. " Raven?" " Oh....sorry Nathan......come in....." " You okay girl?" Nathan sat down in a chair on one side of the large ebony desk. Raven swivelled around. " You get any more lectures?" he asked. " Nope." " Amazing." Nathan then looked out of the window. " Looks like a storm. A pretty bad one too." " Looks like I'm going to have to be careful riding home tonight." " You sure you don't want a lift Raven? I can give you one if you want." Raven smiled. " Thanks but no thanks Nathan. You live on the opposite side of the city. Plus I'm not a Mercedes girl." " Just thought I'd ask." " It's much apprieciated." Nathan stood. " Be careful out there tonight. It looks dangerous." " Hey, you know me, 'Miss Heroic'." Nathan just smiled and left. Raven looked back towards the storm. Her eyes turned a neon yellow. An hour later, Raven was on her motorcycle, weaving through traffic easily. The rain was coming down thick and fast. Lightning streaked the sky. Thunder rumbled its low growl. The exhilaration of this stunt ran through Raven's body. It was the best feeling in the world. Her eyes were still neon yellow by the time Raven had arrived at her apartment building. The storm rumbled around her as she parked her motorcycle into the underground parking area. Taking the elevator to the top level, Raven arrived in her own penthouse. Glass windows surrounded the majority of the outside boundaries, able to have an almost 360 degree view of the city. Throwing her wet leather jacket and pants into the laundry, Raven walked into the kitchen and started to make herself some dinner. Soon, the smell of lasange wafted through the whole penthouse. Raven took the cooking pasta out of the oven and let it cool, taking a little to see how it tasted. The television was on with some sort of police investigation show on. Sitting down with her lasange on a plate, Raven snorted at the characters in the show. " How badly does television portray life these days..."
You Don't Care
The Past: "Hey, Chris! Don't forget your lunch!" Talecia, his mother, shouted after him. He trotted back to her. "How can it be called a lunch when it is the afternoon?" he argued as he grabbed for the sack. Talecia pulled it away as she hugged Chris. Then she kissed him on the forehead. "Have a good time honey!" "Blech!" Chris wiped his forehead as he made way down to the picket fence. He leaped over it without making an attempt to open the gate. ===================== The music of the party caused the walls to vibrate and everyone's yammering didn't help any, either. Chris and Paul, one of his friends, chilled outside on the porch. The light of the bug lamp zapped at nasty insects that dared to touch it. Chris chugged at one of his sodas. "You should make a move on her," Paul suddenly suggested. Chris began to choke and spewed out the contents of his mouth. "Wh-WHAT?!" "YEAH! If you really like her that much. I don't see any other way." "BUT SHE'S FOUR YEARS YOUNGER THAN ME!" "That won't matter once you reach twenty-five! And besides, she is too mature for her age." Paul does make a point, but the here and now is just a little too absurd. "HELL NO!" Paul stood up and dragged Chris to his feet and shoved him through the doorway. Trying to keep his balance, Chris tripped and fell on top of someone. "Shit!" It was her. He quickly got up and pulled her to her feet. "I..I'm s..so sorry!" he tried to apologize as he bowed and blushed. "Th..thats fine, Chris. Except now I need to sit down," she said as she fainted into a nearby chair. "JERK!" cried the nearest girl as she punched Chris in the back of his head. ===================== "Well, you blew it again," Paul said as they made their way down the sidewalk. It was 10:30 and they were headed home from the birthday party. "It was for the best," Chris sighed as be rubbed the back of his head. It still hurt after being thwacked by that other girl. "How long have you known her for? Eight years? You hang with a fourteen-year-old and are practically in love with her! You need to get out some more!" "First you say go for it and now you say look elsewhere!? I'M GONNA' KILL YOU!!!" Chris socked Paul in the back of his head, who fell over from the sudden attack. "OW!" Minutes later, they finally made their way to Danny's house. He is another good friend, just like Paul. Chris knocked on the door. They could hear someone on the other side trying to unlock it. The porch light went on and the door cracked open. "How goes it?" said a voice. "It goes," Paul called back. The door opened and Daemond, another friend, was standing in the doorway. "We're almost ready," he announced. He noticed Paul and Chris rubbing the backs of their heads. "What happened to you guys?" "Nothing," they said in unison. Daemond dissapeared into the house. Chris and Paul followed and closed the door behind them, then locked it. Paul went straight to Danny's room while Chris made for the bathroom. "I'll be just a minute." After finishing up and turning off the light, Chris opened Danny's door and could see the others already for the event. "We will start with you, Kadar," Paul ordered. ===================== It was finally graduation and a lot happened over the past couple weeks. Especially after the event. Chris could remember things that he couldn't possibly have. Things of a past and memories and events of long ago. His training was finally complete and after graduation, he will make the journey to discover the secrets of exsistence. He made a promise and he intends to keep it. It is, after all, the reason why he decided to make the journey. "I must go for what I seek. And I will return. I will return to protect you...forever." ===================== Years later, Chris has grown up and has changed for the better. He received a letter from his friends. Only they knew where he was. He stopped by Daemond's house first. He cut off the engine of his motorcycle and swung himself off onto the sidewalk. Daemond was already waiting for him outside. "How goes it?" he greeted. "It goes," Chris answered back. They made for a handshake and turned it into a hug. "It's been a while, hasn't it?" Daemond pointed out. Chris couldn't wait to see the others. "Let's go see everyone else! Are they at the usual place?" "Uh. Not today. They went to Tony's Pizza!" "Then let's go already!" When they got there, Chris could see all his usual friends. Not only Paul and Danny, but June, Tracy, Nick, Nicholas, and Russel were there. "HEY, CHRIS!" they all shouted at once. Everyone greeted him with hugs and backslaps. It was good to see everyone again. Especially after what he went through and the things that he learned of in his search. "So! Where is she?" Chris asked out loud. The party suddenly died. They knew what he was talking about. "What? Did everyone become mute alluva sudden?" Paul started to make his way toward Chris, which seemed like a long time. For Chris knew that something was wrong. Chris wanted Paul to never make his way over to him. He wanted to never find out. "Uh...Chris," Paul began, but couldn't find the words. A long silence. Paul reached for his pocket and pulled something out. It was a note. A letter, actually. Chris opened it and began to read it. His face grew horrified with each word. He stood up suddenly, knocking the chair over with the force, and ran for the door. Give this to Chris when it happens. He ran down the sidewalk and across the street. He didn't care if he got hit or not. It seems that I am not well and the doctors say I don't have much time. He jumped cars. Fences. Whatever got in his way. Nothing was to stop him from making sure that it was true. I felt the need to write this so that you would understand better. At least, he hoped that it wasn't true. I knew you had feelings for me and I you. Paul told me all about. Stupid Paul. He could never keep a secret. Not even to...her. I always thought that you would come out and say it, but I knew you would have told me when you came back. He made his way into the cemetary. He leaped over the older stones. Across paths, to the younger ones. I would wait forever for you It had to be one of the newer ones. He could reverse it if it was. I was stupid. I should have told you how I felt first. Never. You were never stupid. I was... I guess this is how it is. I guess that it was never meant to be. I cannot accept that. I love you so much. So I will just say it. Even if it is in such an unnapropriate manner. He looked everywhere for the stone. It was none of the new ones. It was... There are no other words to explain it. He went back a few rows. Then, when he thought there wasn't one in the first place, he came across it. His face grew pale as the pain inside of him grew stronger with each beat of his heart. I love you, K! The tears came like a flood. He fell to his knees and cried like never before or ever again. His call of pain echoed across time and space itself. Throughout the expanse of Heaven and the deepest bowels of Hell it could be heard... And on the stone was.. ..Jamie Harkenson

Just another boring day... Not that she disliked her job...rather, on the contrarary, she loved her job. She was good at it. She'd taken the lifegaurd position almost a year ago...and not a single person had lost their life while she was on duty. There had been a couple of close calls - last month a ten year old had gotten too tired, 90 feet out...the ocean's current, normally gentle, had been strong enough to start carrying the youngster out to sea. She winced even now at the memory. If it hadn't been for that wind...The locals had counted it a miracle - a fluke windstorm, appearing just in time to save a child? It had been odd...but the sea was a strange thing. You Don't Care
It has been two hours since the barge entered Puerto Rican waters. After the casual proceedure of docking and unboarding, Kadar made his way through the crowd of other passengers. The entire docks bobbed up and down, smacking the water as the crowd of antsy people's feet hit its surface. There was no definite pattern to how they made their way. Kadar was wearing a hawaiian shirt and board shorts for the occassion, his bag strapped over one shoulder. The natural heat was more pleasing to the touch than the heat of a poluted city and he liked it that way. But there is no time. This isn't a vacation, after all. But how will he find the Zodiac without even knowing what he or she would look like? 'I guess I'll have to use my sight for this,' he thought to himself as he finally made his way onto land. He turned to follow the beach. Maybe he would find something out here. He didn't expect to find Aquarius so early, however, there was no better option anyways. He eased himself down the stone steps, making his way to the sand and across it toward the edge of the shoreline. Using his sight and lowering his shades to get a better view, he looked through the passing crowd while trying not to get noticed himself. There were the usual vacationing tourists and those who actually live here. It was obvious because of the skin tone and tans that each one had there, so ruling each one out was easy. But he stood out more than the non-locals with his pale skin and platinum-silver colored hair. He couldn't care less. Children were splashing far out in the water and the usual lifegaurd blew her whistle, warning them to stay out of the shallows. He wasn't paying attention to the words, but was completely focused on the various people there. 'It's funny how so many people want to spend their days on the beach. But when they get to, they no longer wish for it," he thought to himself all of a sudden. He continued along the beach while making his search. demonchild781
"What did you find out?" Reoan turned gently from her bed towards the door to take in the sight of a young demoness. "He's human and not sure what side he's on." The girl replied. Reoan nodded lightly, bringing her eyes from the girl for a moment. "You want us to convince him to be on our side?" The girl added when Reoan looked away. The ex-Guardian's eyes shot back over to the girl, giving a slight sigh. "Its not our place to make him choose what side to be on, its his own. When he decides to seek us out is when we'll know where he stands." Reoan looked over the young girl. She had to be about thirteen and so very young. Her soul was only a couple of centuries old and her eyes betrayed that youth so perfectly. She stood at Reoan's shoulders, some where around five feet or so. She had short curly locks of copper that she usually had pulled away from her face exposing those innocent amber eyes. She wore the latest fashions and was quite a handful for her parents. Neither Reoan or the girl knew why she had become a demon, since the girl's history was lost during her reincarnation. The only thing either of the them knew was that she was a demon and very much so a rebel. She had to have done something directly against God in her life before, but nothing serious enough to keep her in Hell. Those innocent eyes... "Do you know what happen to the viles, Amber?" Jacob strolled into the main quarters of the hotel room. The girl looked up at him, a smile creasing her face. She lost herself in his image for a minute before replying. "Um...no, does Dakota?" Jacob's brows creased together as he brought his attention to Reoan. "Where is Dakota?" Reoan smiled playfully as she turned back to her bags on the bed. "Reoan?" Jacob called after her as he approached the bed side, the young demoness watching enviously. Reoan only continued to smile as she pulled things from her bad, random clothing and bathing supplies. If there was one thing about this time period she liked more then any of the others was the access to a bathing area. "What are you up to now?" Jacob said, leaning over and placing his hands on the bed. "Playing my part in helping this world," Reoan whispered towards Jacob. Jacob stood up almost abruptly, his eyes dancing over the ex-Guardian's face and stance. Her body lanugage hid whatever she was thinking or planning, and getting her to tell him was next to impossible. He stepped back and smiled at Amber. Reoan took notice of it and squinted her eyes. "Do we have any contacts in Illinois?" Reoan grabbed some of the bathing supplies and turned directly towards Jacob. "I believe so, why?" "Contact them, I want to know of this Madge I keep hearing about in my dreams." Reoan replied as she started towards the hotel bathroom. "Of course." Jacob nodded even though Reoan couldn't see him. Reoan growled slightly as she shut the door behind her. The small room that housed a tube, shower, sink and toliet was everything Reoan could ask for. In the Pit of Hell there was no water therefor no way to wash one's self. But even on Earth, before her banishment, there weren't too many public areas that housed such facilities. Placing her things on the small counter and around the outrims of the tube, Reoan turned on the water to allow it to warm up before she climbed in. Though she enjoyed soaking for long hours in a bath, she had no time for such luxuries now. So a relaxing shower would have to do. The warm, nearly hard spray, steadily rushed over her back and filled the small room with hot steam. Things were running smoothly for the moment, and Reoan wondered why. Why hadn't Heaven nor Hell done anything to find her? Its not like it was all that difficult, despite her constant moving. That Guardian. Reoan thought as she stood in the shower, completely losing her senses in it. He'll have so much fun when he finds out what my mission will accomplish. Reoan smiled at her devilish plan. So many had tried to rule the world by conquering it. It was far simplier to set it upon itself then trying to take countries one by one, isn't it? It truly didn't matter, she didn't want to rule this cursed planet nor did she want to destroy it. Simply show God that she was free of his embrace and punish those that had betrayed her so many centuries ago. "Reoan?" The calling of her name brought her from her thoughts as she stuck her head out from behind the curtain. "What?" she nearly growled. "Some one has arrived." Reoan narrowed her eyes, staring at the wooden door before her. "What shall I do with them?" "Let them in."
Angelus_Necare
Lucifer had set off to his swanky New York loft as the sun began to light up the human city. As much as he enjoyed the sunlight, it hurt his eyes and made him ill. He didn't know why either, thus he would spend his days indoors. His loft was decadent and rather expensive looking. It wasn't as if he needed any of the pricy sofas or tapestries that were a part of his home, but he felt that living in luxury was better than living on the streets in poverty. Of course none of this was free, he had to kill and lie quite a bit to get what he wanted in the human world. But it was not as if it was all that hard either. He sighed drawing the blinds to the windows and sat himself in a low black-leather coutch. It seemed the day was going to be rather long. Regardless of his situation for the day, he was indeed happy to see Reoan again.
Ozymandius Jones
The children stopped fighting to glare at her. Great...tourist brats... "Why?" "Because, I don't want you falling in the shallows and breaking your necks, or head, or something like that. You could end up spending the rest of your life in the hospital." A chill ran up Ima's spine, like someone was watching when she was alone. Odd...people are watching...but that shouldn't cause this feeling... She turned slightly, spotting a young man with silvery hair walking down the beach. Huh, another tourist, I guess... The children, being children, went back to their fight the instant her back was turned. And, due to the law of averages, Murphy and all else evil, that had to be the one time, the ONE time somebody actually slipped. Ima spun around just in time to see one of the children trip and land, face down, in the shallow water. She dashed into the water, and to the kid's side. The child wasn't moving, and his angle was such that she couldn't tell if moving him would hurt him further...but the fact that he was face down...I hate it when it gets like this! She glanced around...all the people who had been swimming were now staring...something about that made her uncomfortable, as she decided to chance it and deal with the most immediate threat - the water. She started to place her hands under the unconcious boy's body...when they started glowing. Startled, she drew them back - when she realized that the light from them had grown to encompass the boy's whole form in a silvery white light. What on earth...? Carefully, gently, she lifted her hands. Lightly, as if he were floating on air, the boy rose from the water - unresisting, yet perfectly still. Ima noticed, as if in a dream, that the winds were picking up, whipping her hair into her eyes, but so focused she was on her task that she failed to hear the whispering. "Madre di Dio!" "Is he floating?" "What is she?" The boy safely on the shore, Ima knealt on the beach. he's not breathing.... She bent over, preparing to administer CPR, when a hand caught her shoulder, holding her back. "Don't touch him." She looked up to see the boy's father. He looked frightened. She brushed hair back from her eyes again. "Why? What's wrong with you?! That's your son, I can help him!" "What are you? Are you even human?" Wind's picking up... Odd, what a mind notices at a time like this... "What's that got to do with anything?! Let me help your son!" Still, the man held her back... ...you don't have to touch him to help him... The voice was gone so quickly that Ima wasn't even sure it had spoken. She just stared at the boy...her eyesight seemed to sharpen until she could see individual air molecules, twisting and turning and moving...moving! She pushed mentally against the molecules, forcing them in through the boy's mouth and nostrils, and out again...in...out...in...out....suddenly the boy coughed up water, and began sucking in air in deep, gulping greedy breaths. Omino Jaku
A bead of sweat slid down Yasuo's nose, dangling for a moment before ending it's journey on the floor in front of him. His hair a tangled mass, blocking only parts on the glaring light. It beat down on his body, making it glisten brilliantly. His fingers had never ached so much in his life. The pulsing in his ears just kept on growing louder and louder. He deepened his stance and the adrenaline flowed with greater force than ever before. Just a few more moments to hold out. He could feel the end growing nearer, his fingers worked fervently to keep up with the accursed tempo. With the final pluck of the string, he lifted his arm in triumph, and began to breathe deeply. He heard his friend, Hiroko's voice say in japanese, "Thank you and good night!" over the roar of the crowd. His band's first show, and they were already recieving encores and shouts of praise from the audience before him. Yasuo looked around for people he knew, seeing friends from high school here to support him, and many an unfamiliar face. He looked over towards Hiroko the lead singer and shot her a smile when she glanced his way. The lights faded at that moment, and Yasuo felt even more at peace. He never liked the light, always in the shadows you'd find him. He felt at home when shrouded in darkness. After he had laid his bass to rest in its case, Yasuo journeyed over to the bar and asked the bartender for water. "Wow, you guys are great." he heard behind him in japanese. He spun around slowly to gaze upon a gorgeous asian woman, about his height. "Domo." He replied. "Here you go." he heard the bartender say in japanese. He turned and picked up the water and began to sip it and leaned back onto the bar, feeling relaxed and at ease. He was about to make his move when Hiroko and the lead guitarist, Kenji squeezed their way inbetween the two to get to the bar. "Yasuo!!" Kenji said in japanese, "We fuckin' rocked!" "What did you think?" Hiroko said. "Your singing was off key." Yasuo replied with a chuckle. He gazed back into the crowd to find the beatiful girl, but much to his dismay she was gone, swallowed up by the mass of people. Hiroko brought his attention back by punching him on his shoulder. He grabbed his shoulder in fake pain, and began to whine, "Hiroko, that hurt..." "Good, you goon. Hey Kenji, can you drive me home?" "Would love to, but I'm going the opposite direction babe." Kenji replied. "I'll walk you home." Yasuo butted in. "Thank you Yasuo, you're too kind." she said, as Hiroko shot an evil glare over to Kenji. He kissed her forehead and thanked Yasuo before leaving the bar to go run drinks to the drummer and rythm guitarist. Hiroko grabbed his rear as he left almost spilling the drinks. She sighed and turned her back to the crowd. Yasuo joined her and glanced over his should towards her. Hiroko returned his gaze and said, "Wanna get out of here?" "Yeah, too noisy for me." Yasuo replied. Hiroko lead the way, with Yasuo trailing only a short distance behind.
Redemption
The soft rumbling of thunder woke Raven from her peaceful slumber. She looked over to her alarm clock. It read: 7:45 am. Sitting up slowly, Raven looked out of the glass into the storm. It had continued to rain all night and stay even in the morning. And it looked no less threatening than the night before. Getting up, Raven walked to the bathroom, turning the stereo on before starting the shower. Warm mist rose from the bottom of the shower as Raven stepped inside. She normally slept naked, and last night was no exception. As she let the warm water run over her, her thoughts turned to her life. The beginning, only knowing her grandfather. Then the slavery. She still bore the scars of the lashings that were given to her many years ago. Becoming stronger and stronger, Raven had eventually gained the courage to fight back. However, sometimes fighting back wasn't the best option. The most severe punishments were those who disobeyed. Raven shivered. The anger and resentment was still there after all these years. However, after those many years of punishment and oppression, she joined the police force. Using that anger and resentment as a motivating force, Raven quickly climbed the ranks and became a skilled undercover officer with many offensive and defensive skills. Now she was a senior officer in the AIS - Athenian Investigation Squad. It was basically the equivalent of say the CIA or FBI in the USA. Turning off the water, Raven stepped out of the shower and dried herself off. She looked at herself in the mirror. Her eyes were neon yellow. With her towel wrapped around her, she walked out into her bedroom and to her wardrobe. She picked out a stylish black suit that suited females. It was the right bust, waist and hip width for Raven and suited her perfectly. By the look of the weather outside, it was going to be a paperwork day. Raven gathered her housekeys, wallet and other essentials including an umbrella. Today, she would catch the train to work. It was far too wet for her motorcycle, even though the thrill of danger was increasingly enticing. Locking her penthouse and taking the elevator to the ground floor, Raven bid the receptionist a good day, as per her routine of the morning. The chill of the rain hit Raven as she walked through the door and out into the open. She looked up at the sky. Distant rumbling could be heard. Pulling her overcoat tight around her, Raven began the trek to the train station. ************************** A few minutes later, she was on the train, heading to City Central. The train was quite warm and comfortable. It had been ever since the Olympics last year. They had improved the public transport system marvelously, and it benefited everyone that used it now. Raven flicked through a newspaper she bought while she waited for her train at the station. She immediately went to the 'Internation Politics' section - her area of expertise. There were numerous articles about strange happenings. People disappearing randomly, strange cults emerging concerning the Devil and God, people claiming they are angels and demons, and so on. This interested Raven. " So things are happening....." she whispered to herself as she skim-read the articles. " I wonder when I will be summoned." Lightning streaked outside. Thunder rolled. The train slowed. A voice saying they had arrived at City Central came over the PA system. Raven quickly folded her paper and stood from her seat. The train stopped and the doors slid open. Walking quickly up the stairs, Raven was suddenly grabbed by the arms by two men, either side of her. " Don't scream, otherwise we'll give you something to scream about..." one of them hissed in her ear from behind. Filthy bastards...... They led her up the stairs from the subway and out onto the street. Raven half directed them in the direction of AIS headquarters. They walked along the pavement before they shoved her into a side alley, conviently screened by a large garbage skip. They released her from their grip and pushed her against a wall. One of them licked their lips. " You're attractive.....I'm going to enjoy playing with you...." He glided a finger over Raven's lips. She quickly bit it hard and the man yelped, jumping back. The other backhanded her but she quickly blocked it and kneed him in the groin. Her neon yellow eyes were firmly fixated on the two slimeballs who thought they were going to have their 'fun' with her. " You filthy bastards......you think you can treat women like your playthings....you picked the wrong woman......to mess with...." Raven growled, her eyes glowing. The men backed away from her. " What the **** are you?" one asked. " Something you shouldn't have played with..." Lightning struck at the end of the alley, making two gas bottles explode. The sheer force of the explosion knocked the two men to their feet. As they scrambled up, they saw Raven whose hands crackle with lightning. It jumped around her whole body as if she was a lightning conductor. She confronted them, her neon yellow eyes scaring the living daylights out of them. " Get out of here before I make you two lightning conductors," Raven spat. They rushed off, fleeing from her. She sniggered and let the lightning subside. Walking out of the alleyway and to work, Raven waited as the elevator came to her floor. When the doors opened, she walked straight into Chief. Looking up wide-eyed, Raven apologised. " Sorry Chief, didn't see you there." " Raven, just who I wanted to see...." He then noticed her suit being slightly crumbled on either arm. His thick eyebrow arched. " Something I should know about?" Raven looked at her suit and straightened it. " Just a run in with two guys who thought they could use me as a plaything. Nothing I couldn't handle." The Chief's eyes were wide. " I shouldn't expect anything less from my best undercover officer, should I Miss Heroic?" Raven smiled. " No sir."
lil kitsune boy
'Damn, those angels are persistant.' Ben said, closing his front door and dropping the guitar case into a nearby chair. He walked into the kitchen, pulling a box of cold pizza and a bottle of cola from the fridge. He threw the box on the counter and walked into the next room. On the wall, there was a rack. On the rack, there was a collection of swords. European, oriental, even the ones you only see in those futuristic 'B' movies. Near the rack on an adjoining wall, there was a cabinet filled with different handguns and ammo, some of which wasn't even legal. He lowered one of the larger swords from the wall and, moving over to the cabinet, pulled a few extra clips and some cleaning supplies. After that, he took it all into the kitchen and started cleaning the weapons while he had a snack. 'Ok,' he said, holstering the newly maintained guns and tossing the pizza box into the box he had for paper garbage that wouldn't fit into the garbage can, 'Time to check out this psycho Guardian.' He tossed the sword over his shoulder and, checking the sheath he'd specially made to make sure it drew easily, he walked out the door.
Kairi
The chilling cold of the winter frost in Moscow was almost fatal...with all its buildings nearly caged in a prison of ice, Rubedo walked the streets as casualy as he would if he were on a beach. Eventually...he found himself outside the gates of the Prime Ministers office... Vladimir Punto... ***An hour before in New York City*** "You must be Rubedo..." replied a young and vibrant woman who stood before the Guardian in a local bar of NYC. He was sitting at a booth in the far corner enjoying himself in a cigarette and bear as she approached... "I was wondering what Reoan would send....I take it you are the messanger..." he replied, not making contact with her eyes... Without asking for permission...Dakota took a seat beside him, sliding close to him so that she could not be heard by any other. "I will only speak of the names and locations of the politicians..." she leaned in close...seductive as she was, her tongue grazed his ear as she spoke of his targets. Rubedo was quite amused...not at the names..but how this girl presented herself...did she truly think such petty efforts turned him on.... so...he decided to play along...gently sliding his hand down her cheek, he seduced her, his golden eye blazing straight into her very being. Slowly rising from the booth...Dakota became lost in his gaze as they seemed to glide to the dance floor among the many civilians who were already dancing. Breathing heavly, Rubedo circled her...taking in her scent...gliding his hand across her neck. Dakota closed her eyes...taking in a pleasure which she hadn't felt since being in service to Reoan...before she could react however, Rubedo tightened his grip around her chin with his hand and snapped her neck. Foolish girl... falling limp in his arms...he carried her off to the booth they were previously at and gently lay her on the seat. that is for Reoan's lie...of promising something more... Casually...Rubedo walked out of the bar, with a cigarette clutched between his fingers...he psychicd himself out for the task at hand...without question. ***Moscow*** Vladimir Punto... one of the most active Prime Ministers of Russia of this century...the second on his list. The first was Lee Wan-Yong, another radical leader of the North Korean people. It was quick and easy...a single sniper shot through his forehead did the job in his private pentehouse. It was now nightime...the stars above shining upon the snow on the ground. It looked quite beautiful to Rubedo's eyes...but he was not in the state of mind to bother with such imputance. Walking down the street...he seemed to suddenly fade into the mist of the falling snow as he made his way into the building. His stealth was unmatched...especially with his speed, he easily slipped past all the guards; as well as avoiding the cameras set up throughout the building. Just has had done with Lee Wan-Yong...Rubedo shot a single bullet into his forehead as he sat in his office chair; overlooking some kind of nuclear power-plant plans. Opening the window, a sudden alarm went off throughout the estate as footsteps could be heard running up and down the corridors. Rubedo has a slight grin on his face as he leaped out...fading again into the darkness like the wind. ***Washington D.C*** Within a few hours...Rubedo has already infiltrated to his final target.. President George W. Bush.... Standing above the sleeping president in his bedroom, his wife calmy resting upon his chest...Rubedo raised his gun to shoot. Instead...he had a better idea. He was already growing bored with killing these men in the same quite, repetative manor. Taking out his scimitar...he swiftly cut across the presidents neck as he burst awake in agony. The presidents eyes were hid open in terror as he looked up at his attacker. Rubedo clamped down his hand over the presidents mouth as he struggled. The first woman woke up do to the struggle as was about to cry out before Rubedo drew his gun unsilenced and shot her between the eyes. What happened from there...could only be described as a massacre. No one was left alive within the White House..........there was but one who survived...who, when the autorities arrive; gave a quick and vague description of the assassin before he evidently died as well. Everything happened in less than 24 hours...each attack all around the world was swift and accurate... ***Athens*** Rubedo searched throughout the entire city looking for his master...conceiled in his hat and sunglasses...he finally ended his search in the Central City. News of the murders hadn't reached the media yet... Sitting at the bar, ordering himself a drink...he felt nothing for what he had just done. He could see it now...Three powerful politicians murdered....they all blame thee other...as if it were a domino affect... He didn't care, nor thought of why Reoan asked such a thing from him....he tried to find pleasure in it...but it didn't excite him anymore...not like he hadn't done it before...
You Don't Care
Continuing down the beach-line, Kadar could hear the life gaurd still arguing with the children in the distance. It was just another usual bicker for their safety. But without warning, he could see the wind pick up in the strangest pattern. It trailed around him as he made an attempt to keep an eye on it. However, by a strange twist of fate, the wind..yes the wind made a move for one of the children. The boy was being forced into the shallow water. Before he could make a move, the lifegaurd had already realized the situation and was standing over the child. He began to glow. "Madre Di Dio!" 'Those words! It can't be!' he thought to himself. The boy, by the smooth serenade of the woman's movement, had moved gently onto the shore. Cries from the crowd were filled with panic, however, no one noticed the wind picking up. As the lifegaurd attempted to revive the boy, a man grabbed her arm. Kadar couldn't hear what they were talking about, because the wind began to rowr throughout the beach. You don't have to touch him to help him, he messaged to her. As smooth as her movement, Kadar could see the particles of wind making its way in and out of the drowning boy. He was alive, thanks to her quick decision. She made an attempt to run away from the peering eyes of the crowd. With a sudden great force, a blast of air blew everything skyward. People ran away as best as they could. The lifegaurd stood as everything around her blew into a tunnel. Kadar noticed that more of the air molecules made way toward the lifegaurd post, as it swooped at great speed toward the lifegaurd herself. Kadar ran against the wind's force and persistance. It was almost too late. Kadar tackled her and they went spralling into the sand. The seat barely missed them. "WHO ARE YOU!" she attempted to shout over the gusts. "CALM DOWN! YOU HAVE TO STOP STRUGGLING!" he shouted back. Kadar made an effort to stand against the wind. "STOP DOING THIS!" The woman shouted as she thrusted her hand toward him. As if all at once, the entire force of the wind pushed at him and threw him into the air. Thirty yards.. Sixty yards.. One-hundred yards skyward. It gave way, then he plummeted to the ground below... Tossing and turning, Kadar struggled to straighten himself out. In the-nick-of-time, he succeeded and landed with great force. The sand blew back to form a crater, with him in the middle. The woman was surprised at how he survived. "HOW DID YOU..YOU FELL TWENTY STORIES!" Kadar stood once more, struggling with the pain the impact had caused. The wind began to pick up once more. With tremendous force, Kadar summoned all his might into a blast of air of his own. "HEEEEYAAAH!" He hurled into the source of the wind funnel. A backblast blew him and the lifegaurd away as the winds dispursed. Half buried, he pulled himself from the sand and made way toward the nearly unconscious lifegaurd. She looked at him, struggling to stay wake. "Who are you?" "Kadar Romalac. And you must be the Aquarius." She finally fainted at the sound of those words. Redemption
It was midday. The storm still hadn't cleared. The weather reports were saying this was an extra-ordinary event and that meterologists were studying it around-the-clock. Raven knew that it was her, but the reason why eluded her. It probably had something to do with the strange events that had been happening. Reports had come in, both in media and as messages to the AIS, that three powerful leaders of the world had been assassinated. This was of most interest to Raven since she was in the AIS. She, Nathan and the Chief had made their way down to their favourite bar. It was a usual hang-out for AIS agents, because it was the nearest place with alcohol and good food. They were sitting at their usual table, discussing the new reports that had come in. The doorbell tinkled as a stranger walked in. Raven immediately noticed this. She sensed.....power. Nathan and the Chief kept talking about the assassinations and the consequences. Raven's eyes followed a bronze-haired man over to the bar. He seemed silent, but full of wrath. Darkness surrounded him and followed him wherever he moved. His eyes told of a torn soul - torn between loyalties. " Raven......Raven......" came Nathan's voice. It brought her back to reality. She looked at the Chief and Nathan. " Yes?" " Off in your own world again?" Nathan queried. " Yes. My fairy friends are always wanting me to go there," Raven parried sarcastically. Nathan and the Chief rolled their eyes together. She stood. " Lady's room." Walking over near the bar, she passed the bar. The man with the power aura was drinking. The closer she drew near him, the more she smelt death - the horrid reeking stench of it. Raven's senses sharpened intensely as she set a small zap through into the man's cup. When he picked it up next, it jolted him. Raven's eyes turned neon yellow. He whirled around to see her walking out a side door. Bursting out of the door, the man looked up and down the street to see Raven walking quickly away in the pouring rain. Lightning streaked and thunder rumbled. He followed after her quickly, trying to not look suspicious. Raven looked back to make sure she had a tail. And it was wagging exactly the way she wanted it to. Many minutes later, the man found himself in a deserted neighbourhood. The rain came down in torrents. The gutters were overflowing and flooding the street. He looked around for Raven, unable to see far in the pelting rain. " So you are a Guardian?" Raven's voice came from behind him. He whirled around to find her in a tight black top with her hair drenched in the rain. Her tight black pants clung to her wet body. Lightning crackled around her entire being. Her eyes neon yellow, now with white flecks. He saw a pair of blades in their cross-sheath upon her back. At either of her hips were two H&K P8s. " And you are?" he queried. His voice was smooth, deep and masculine. Raven looked as if she was wanting a fight. " Gemini, the Twins, of the Zodiac," Raven replied, unsheathing her blades and twirling them expertly in her hands. Lightning crackled down the blades. The man looked her up and down. A sly grin crossed his lips. OOC: Ready for a fight, Kairi? Interesting way our characters get to meet. And remember that Raven is in her element - lightning. I'll PM with some things
You Don't Care
Kadar gazed outside of the window, half listening to the television. He always watched the news hoping for a something, anything to happen. Amongst the usual check was the woman. She remained unconscious and still, steadily breathing. It had been hours since the incident and Kadar has had no time to recover. 'There is no sign of her aura. It must have been the first time that she used her ability in such a way.' After noticing that there was no news to report, Kadar reached for the television and decided to go down to the lounge room to overhear the usual conversation of random strangers. Locking the door behind him, he hardly descended the stairwell when he noticed that there was more of a racket than he had expected. People were making quick work to get into the lounge. The television can be heard inside. "Vladimir Punto, Prime Minister of Russia, has been assainated. While personally going over the plans for a new science commission center, he was killed in cold blood. The murderer has been apprehended, but no other information will be released of what organization is responsible for it." 'The Prime Minister killed? This is definitely something new, but maybe I'm just hoping too much.' Kadar's thoughts, however, had been interupted by yet another news flash. "This just in! The President of the United States of America, George W. Bush, along with everyone in the ENTIRE White House has been brutally murdered! We take you live to the scene!" A woman reporter could be seen on the screen. "It is true. EVERYONE has been brutaly murdered. However, one victim did give a description. We have recorded video of what he had to say." The screen flashed to the video and a man with ghastly eyes looked at everything with fear. Blood and open wounds covered his body. 'No sense of respect for others when the important die,' Kadar thought with disgust. "I..it came s..so fast! Could..dn't think! Disapeared..re..reappeared! A fang..its fang..ate everyone! Hair..half covered..face! Silver neck and..ear! Cold eyes! HELP!! DON'T EAT ME!!" Blood sprayed from the man's mouth as his last breath drowned in blood. The screen changed back to the reporter. "Such an unsightly thing to see. May their poor souls rest in peace. Back to you." No sign of true sympothy. "In reaction to this act of terrorism, it was first thought that North Korea was responsible for this. But as authorities decided to take action, news of Korean leader, Lee Wan-Yong, had also been assassinated at his home estate. It was reported as a random sniper attack. No other details will be released until investigated." 'HAH! RANDOM!' "The situation has grown worse as terrorist organizations rise and governments point the finger at eachother. There is no solution in sight.." Kadar had had enough and made his way back to his room. A lot has happened and he believed he had not heard the last of it. It will definitely get harder to travel the world for the Zodiacs. As he opened the door, Kadar could hear that the lifegaurd had awoken.
demonchild781
Reoan pulled the curtain shut again as she finished rinsing off. She creased her brows as she turned the water off. She couldn't imagine who was at the door, a human more-than-likely since she couldn't sense him. "Ah...yes," Reoan smiled as she pulled back the curtain and grabbed a white towel hanging on the wall. "What--." Reoan heard Amber's voice slid through the door. "Bring him to the table, I'll be there in a moment." Reoan growled at the girl as she started drying herself off. The ex-Guardian could hear commotion in the other room as she started to dress herself. A pair of loose fitting jeans, over top of soft blue undergarments, with a simple grey t-shirt to complete it all. She ran a brush through her hair quickly, allowing the long mass of wet strains to fall onto her shoulders. Before exiting the room, Reoan clumped her bath supplies together on the counter, hung the towel up and hid her dirty laundry by the sink. The whole hotel room was filled with a thick sense of tension as she opened the bathroom door. The television played loudly in front of the bed, the lights low and the curtains drawn to avoid drawing attention to the room. Amber was flirting with their guest as Jacob came out to greet Reoan. "It is the human male you had sent Amber to follow." Jacob whispered into the woman's ear, making it look like he was landing a gentle kiss on her cheek. Reoan nodded as she started towards the make-shift kitchen where her guest awaited her. Jacob followed closely behind her, his head lowered as if he had just been scolded. The first thing to catch the damned one was the boy's vibrant blonde hair and when he turned to look at her those blue eyes. He was differently human, no mistaking that. Young, more so then even Amber. Reoan smiled, nodded and took a seat before him. "We were just talking about you, Benjamin." Reoan ushered Jacob to gather some refreshments as Amber moved away from the guest. "Call me Ben." He said plainly. "As you wish." Reoan gave a glare towards Amber and the girl rushed from the table. "Sorry for whatever behavior she presented to you. She is young yet and still doesn't know what to make of her body." Reoan smiled playfully as Jacob set two glasses before them. "Coke do well for you?" Jacob began to pour the beverage as Ben looked crossly at her. "Get to the point." He demanded. Reoan smiled at his bitterness. "REOAN!" a crash was heard after the ex-Guardian's name was called. She spun in her chair to see a man, badly deformed, rush into the hotel room. He had nearly torn the door off as he rushed to her side. She snarled as he bent over her chair, his massive body nearly dwarfing her. Out of the corner of her eye, she watched Jacob slowly make his way to the door and close it, repairing what he could of it. "You should be more careful, David. Do you want the whole world to know I'm here!" Reoan nearly shouted at him. The man tried to catch his breath, but was having extreme difficulty. He shook his head. "No," he whimpered, acting as if he was a puppy that had been beaten many times before. "Now what is it?" "He has killed Dakota!" "What?" Reoan stood abruptly. "He snapped her neck at their meeting place." The man stumbled back so not to get in the much smaller human-like figure's way. "This is what has become of Guardian's? Filled with human emotions and desires. After I was punished for doing such simple things such as taking a lover." Reoan shouted, a meancing tone in her voice. "I will not stand for this! This fowl beast shall pay for his stupidity, and for God's misjudgement!" The room fell silent for a moment, when Amber came rushing towards the outragged hellion. "The politicans are dead, Reoan! And talk of war rumbles across the land. Can you feel it?" The girl shouted, forgetting all about the human. Reoan swatted her to the floor. "Foolish girl. Don't you know you just put us all into jeopardy!" As Reoan spoke her words, the massive man known as David rushed towards Ben. The human rushed to his feet, preparing to protect himself when two figures came up behind him. The three men were able to disarm the man and shackle him quickly enough. Reoan turned towards him. "Sorry to have to do this to you, but since I don't know where your loyality lies you'll have to be our perminet guess until you decide." She smiled wickedly as David dragged him towards the spare bed. "My lady?" Jacob beckoned for Reoan's attention. She watched Ben struggle a little, knowing he wasn't actually trying at all. She brought her head around and walked powerfully towards the bed in front of the television. "Yes?" Reoan said sweetly, as if to a lover or maybe a family member. "Aquarius and Sagittarius have been united." Jacob whispered towards her. Reoan smiled, the clearness of her thoughts almost apparent on her face. "You never meant to stop them from joining did you?" Jacob questioned, the room filled with shouting and struggling. "David needs disipline." Reoan shook her head rolling her eyes. "No I didn't." Reoan slid past Jacob and sat down on the neatly made bed. "I want them to unite. They are not here to stop me, Guardian. They're here to keep the balance. And if the balance is disrrupted, say by a third world war..." "Then they would be focusing on stopping that and not you because that would be the more imediate threat." Jacob finished her sentence. Reoan smiled joyfully as Jacob sat down next to her. "Exactly." Jacob smiled back, feeling her joy as if it was his own. "My dear, sweet savior. Show me what this world has to offer. I want to understand what has tempted so many Guardians." Reoan stood, pulling Jacob to his feet. He continued to smile and nodded. "We can go searching for this Madge as well." Reoan gave a slight hint of laugher as she followed him out of the hotel room.
Kairi
Rubedo was quite amused with the girls pose; she was obviously prepared for anything...looking through his sunglasses...as the rain began to pour on the both of them. He closed his eyes...relaxing his muscles "and why do you want to fight me so; Gemini." his voice was calm, unflinching at his enemy. "You reak of death Guardian...something about you isn't right..." she replied as she gripped her two blades even tighter...trying to get a read on him. "Is that all...wow, for an officer...you assume too much." He knows who I am?! ''Here...let me give you a better reason..." immidiately, Rubedo began to reviel his full facial features, taking off his hat and sunglasses, throwing them to the side. Raven looked long and hard through the rain as she began to realize who this man was..."you...you're the man who's portrait was drawn from the attack on the U.S president...you're Rubedo...the outlaw!" She quickly sheathed one of her blades and drew her weapon and fired upon him...in the blink of an eye, Rubedo dodged the bullet and was upon Raven, thrusting a firm palm into her sternum, sending her flying backwards with only the water of the flooded street for a cushion. She lost her her gun in the water...but was able to hold onto her blade. Slowly rising back to her feet, her clothing now drenched...the wind began to pick up from a gentle breeze to that of a hurricane. Rubedo's hair blowed violently in front of his golden eyes as Raven's turned back to a neon yellow. She quickly yeilded her other blade and charged at Rubedo who neither drew his weapons nor moved. Slashing one of her blades at him, he effortlessly leaned to one side, dodging the attack. Raven continued to do a fluid motion of attacks; jabbing, slashing, everything and anything she could do to try and hit him. But if was futile, Rubedo's speed was unmatched compared to her movements. Simply keeping his hands in his trench coat pockets...he merely taunted with the Zodiac. In a sudden explosion of strength and speed, catching Raven off guard, Rubedo rushed straight into Raven and lunged his right knee into her abdomin, causing her to leave her feet from the ground. Lfiting up his right arm, he brought his elbow down to the back of Ravens neck, having her face fall into the pavement of the street. Rubedo began to walk away...leaving Raven alone in the street, becoming bored once again...he turned his head slightly around his shoulder to see Raven's eyes coming to meet his. She was in a flurry of rage, but she looked at his eyes as well...showing nothing at all...no emotion, no pleasure nor pitty. As he began to walk away, a sudden feeling of a shockwave pulsed from Ravens body as she pressed her palms into the water of the street. Using her electric powers, the energy was conducted throughout the entire area...including Rubedo walking through the flood. In a burst of fire, Rubedo's trench coat and shirt blazed in an inferno do to the current now passing through his entire being. Blood rushed from his eyes and nose as his entire body tensed up. Trying to regain her composure from Rubedo's blows to her body as she rose to her feet, his coat and shirt all melted away, even with the rain that poured down from up above. Veins in his biceps, neck and back were all pulsing...his skin was severly burnt; steaming rising from his body as the water droplets feel all over his body. Before he could react...Raven had already run towards him, jabbing one of her blades right into his right shoulder, piercing through his lung. Rubedo however didn't cry out...he merely focused his eyes towards the wound, his body tensing up. Blood dripped down the side of the blade as Raven twisted it, ripping through his flesh. In a desperate attempt, with his left arm he threw an upper-cut, catching Raven in the jaw, causing her to fly back. Instantaniously, as Rubedo wripped the blade out of his chest, Raven catching her balance on her feet as she fell towards the ground; they each charged, both throwing a punch which each dodged. Turning sharply around...they each pulled out their gun and aimed it at one anothers head...holding each other in a stalemate, each breathing heavily. "Why...." Raven muttered..."why would you kill all of them?" the barrel of her gun was shaking as she began to loss strength, struggling to hold it up. With Rubedo's right arm limp, gasping for breathe as he took in his own blood, the wound slowly began to heal itself, amazing Raven at the sight. His skin was now its original complextion...just as he was before. "Because....there is far more to this than you realize." his eyes told her that it was the truth...something far more lay at the depths of all of this. This man seemed to feel nothing, a wandering soul...nothing seemed to phase him. A steady rock against the raging winds. To Raven's surprise...Rubedo began to slowly lower his weapon... So this is one of the Zodiac......you were right master...all I had to do was be pat... A blast in the distance echoed through the entire abandoned neighborhood as two shots were fired at Rubedo, one hitting him in the left thigh, and another on his right shoulder blade. Falling slowly to his knees, he looked up at Raven and brought his head back down where he fell into the flooded road; blood mixing with water all around him in his exhaustion; his powers drained. He had done far too much....as much traveling as he had done. From one of the ally's, Raven could see Nathan and the Chief running towards her, weapons drawn. "What the hell happened here Raven!" proclaimed the Chief in a booming voice as Nathan cuffed Rubedo, confescating his weapons. lil kitsune boy
After Reoan left, Ben reflected on his choice of action. 'Oh, this was a fantastic idea.' Ben said, giving a half hearted tug on the chains as he stood from the bed. The girl came over and pushed him back down. 'Don't get any cute ideas.' she said, winking at him. Ben chuckled, 'What could I do?' he asked, playfully, 'You've already got me all chained up.' 'Ooh, somebody knows this game.' she said, crawling down on the bed, over him. He smirked, waiting for her to lean in for a kiss. When she did, he threw the chain from the shackles aroung her neck. Planting his foot in her stomach, he launched her into the air behind him. Reversing his momentum, he rolled off the bed and to his feet to face the three others that remained in the room. They all rushed at once, a wall of muscle headed his way. 'I hope you guys are ready for this.' he chuckled, jumping in the direction of the table. The one closest to him managed a get ahold of his arm, but he twisted around, breaking the grip. He went for another grab, but Ben dived backwards, his shoulder landing on the hilt of his sword, sending it flipping into the air. Ben dodged another attack, then dove to the floor. There was a loud klang and Ben stood, slowly. The three started backing up as Ben raised his hand, a broken chain hanging from his wrist, and let it rest on the pommel of his sword. 'So, boys.' he said, pulling the sword from the floor and pointing it their way, 'Who's first?' The largest out of them stepped forward. 'You can't stand against Reoan,' he said, 'I'll kill you if you try.' Ben began to chuckle, but soon it grew into full throated laughter, 'I hope, for your sake, you aren't tryin' to act tough.' he said, resting the sword across his shoulder, 'But, you got guts, I like that.' The larger man rushed at him, his feet thundering on the floor as he ran. When he arrived, Ben spun to the side, out of harm's way. 'Stand still, you little worm!' the man yelled at him, taking a swing. 'Yeah, that'll happen.' Ben laughed, leaning back as the man's fist passed over him and spinning the sword like a helicopter blade in his hand. The man let out a scream as the blade cut into his arm. Ben didn't stop, he held out the blade as he went into a side spin. Blood sprayed as the sword bit into his collarbone and stuck. Ben held onto the blade and, planting his feet into the man's chest, he pulled the blade out and jumped away. He flew backwards, skidding to a stop a few feet away. 'Give up, yet?' he said, dodging to the side as one of the others tried to tackle him. Ben spun, thrusting the sword into the attacker's neck. He fell, dead. Ben pulled the sword out and swung, taking the head off the other as he attempted to rush him from behind. 'Now it's just you and me, big guy.' Ben said, sheathing the sword and leaning against the table. 'Why do you wish to get in Reoan's way?' the man said, attempting to hold the wound in his shoulder closed. Ben shrugged, 'Never said I did.' 'Then why do you fight?' the man asked. 'I thought that'd be pretty simple.' Ben replied as he kicked the table, sending everything on it flying into the air. As the table tipped over, Ben jumped, landing on it's edge as his guns fell neatly into his hands. 'So,' he said, standing on the narrow ledge, 'I'm feeling generous. Would you like to live?' The man nodded slowly. 'Cool,' Ben said, 'Here's what we're gonna do. You're gonna find the keys to these cuffs, and we're gonna hang out until your boss comes back.' 'You're going to wait?' the man asked. Across the room, Amber seemed to be waking up. Ben glanced over to Amber, 'Hey, she's ok.' he said. The large man's jaw fell a little. This human, after everything he just did, he was concrened for Amber's safety? 'Hey, biggie!' Ben said, 'Find the damn keys.'

DuoMax
Azrael's feet gently touched the ground outside of Lucifer's loft. The angel was hoping to to have a more productive conversation this time around. The vibrant wings folded against the angels back as he pressed the intercom button, listening for the familiar voice at the end of the line. "Hello?" "Hello Lucifer. I was wondering if I could talk to you for a short while." There was a deresive snort and half chuckle from the speaker. Sounded like the Morningstar thought the idea rather amusing. "Very well. Come on up." Azrael pulled the dorr open and began walking up the stairs to the loft. When he arrived there he didn't bother knocking and instead walked right inside. The pure decadence of the place unnerved and disgusted him. He was used to simple accomodations, when he needed them. "So, Azrael, what is it you want?" "Lucifer, I have been authorised to tell you something, to offer you something that no one, in the history of Creation has been offered. In exchange for your assistance in tracking down and defeating Reoan, the Almighty will allow you back into Paradise." Azrael fell silent, letting the offer sink in.
Redemption
Raven stared absent-mindedly out of the window of the medical wing of AIS Headquarters. The storm was finally clearing. The afternoon sun shone orange as it lowered itself over to the westward horizon. Images of the fight she had with Rubedo ran through her mind's eye. He was a Guardian, and yet he murdered those three world leaders. Why? Had he gone astray? She had always thought that Guardians were supposed to allied with God. But how was murdering those men, and all the other innocents, God's willing? Things didn't make sense. Raven wanted answers, and she knew just where to get them. Taking the elevator down to the underground holding cells, Raven thought over what she was going to say to this Guardian, Rubedo. What questions could she ask? The wounds from the fight she had with him had been tended to, but they still hurt immensely. Adrenaline was always a good pain-killer. She walked through the security, showing her AIS ID and going through a metal detector. Down the corridor to the maximum security cell, she entered the code and the large metal door slid open. Rubedo sat in the cell, silent, leaning against the wall as he sat, his eyes closed. Raven opened the cell door and walked inside. She sat down on a chair she had brought in. Looking Rubedo up and down, Raven chose what question to ask first. " Why?" Rubedo opened his eyes and looked at her. Raven stared at him intensely. She continued. " I assumed that Guardians were allied with God. So I don't understand the reasons for their deaths. How is that God's willing?" Rubedo stayed silent. This tested Raven's patience. That's why she was no good at interiogating. She breathed in deeply, trying to came herself. " I want some answers Rubedo, and I am prepared to wait for them for a long time. I ask again, why? Why have these strange events been occuring lately? Something has happened, something big. I want to know what it is."
Ozymandius Jones
Waves. Wind and waves...and sand...everything seemed to be spinning around and around and... Ima opened her eyes, frowning in confusion. I'm in a...hotel? But...I... She sat up, swinging her feet over the edge of the bed. The room was empty. How'd I get here? The last thing she remembered was the mysterious windstorm fading. She had just stood up when the silver-haired tourist came in through the door. She backed away. "Who - who are you?" Even as she asked, she remembered him introducing himself as Kadar..."Nevermind that, what are you? How did you do that?" Kadar looked tense about something....having no clue what, Ima just continued. "Why'd you bring me here? What do you want?" Kadar stood, his arms crossed. Ima stopped. She'd been blabbing... "HAHAHAHA! Are you finished?" She nodded, confused as to how this was funny. He sat down next to her. "The name's Kadar. It's a pleasure to meet you. To answer the first question, I have powers, in layman's terms, like yours. That's how I survived when you threw me in the air like that. Second, I brought you here, because I don't know where you live. If I did, then that would make me a creepy person. And finally, I want to make sure that you are one of the chosen Zodiac." Something started to ache, right between her eyes. Powers. Zodiac. Right. She felt like walking out right then and there...but something stopped her. Got a better explaination? "I have powers?!" Kadar nodded. "Everyone has something, but you are special. You have been chosen to be one of those who keep the balance. A universal importance." Important to the universe...me? Wow... She felt the hysterical edge coming back. Wh-what if I don't want to be important? another voice argued with the first. You saved that boy...there are thousands, millions of children out in the world...how many more could you save? With that thought, it was easy to keep her voice from shaking. "So...what's going on? I...I don't understand." "Apparently, the world is changing. Something's going wrong. I need to find the other Zodiacs...I was told to come here, so..." He spread his hands in a "here-I-am" gesture. "Here we are now." Ima nodded slightly. At least the sign fits... "So...what do we do now?"
