"Woophie!" Luna raced acroos the fields.

Finally school's over, Luna thought.

She waved goodbye to her friends and headed back home. She stopped by a bakery house and bought some goodies then headed home again. She finally reached to her house and began to do her homework as usual. She went downstairs for a drink of water.

Wouldn't it be so cool if the water just turn into a ball in my hand, Luna thought as she was staring at the glass.

Soon the water actually did turn into a ball and floated on top of her hand.

"Woah!" Luna jumped and water splashed on her clothes, "Did I just do that?"

I'm getting pretty freak out right now, Luna thought shockingly.

"First, we need to rest. At least for tonight." Kadar moved over to his bed and sat down with a thump. He hadn't gotten any sleep since the fall. The height was nothing, but it did happened unexpectedly. The lifegaurd seemed annoyed by how calm and carefree he had become.

"That's it? The world is changing and you want to catch some shuteye?"

He layed down and rolled to face the wall. "I would sleep through it if I could. Besides, I didn't pay for this room for nothing." The lifegaurd made some sort of a tiny fuss, but quickly calmed down. Kadar chuckled to himself at the idea of how she quickly recovered from the shock of hearing what she is.

"So, what's your name? I didn't catch it earlier."

"Imahyn Eliandro."

"Ima..Ima-hy..how about I just call you Ima?"

"I guess that's fine."

Just before he fell asleep, one more thing came up in his mind. 'I've studied the most complex languages and have come across the craziest of names. But her's just takes the cake!' Kadar laughed out loud one more time before he succumbed to fatigue.

=========================

The next morning, Kadar and Ima stopped by her villa. He waited outside, half-caring what she was doing inside. About twenty minutes went by and Ima finally came out the front door. She was carrying her travel gear. They were about halfway down the road before either of them spoke.

"So..what is happening to the world right now? Where are we going first and how are we going to make a difference?"

Kadar made a funny look at her as they turned the street. He noticed that his expression was unexpected. "You sure ask a lot of questions don't you?..Well, apparently someone who was banished into Hell long ago escaped and she wishes to claim payback on mortal men and God himself."

Ima's jaw dropped at how straightfoward he was.

"To make matters worse, some of the major leaders of the world has been assassinated in a single night."

Her expression was serious, but remained shocked. Probably by how unfathomable the situation was. "So how do you know where to go next?"

"I'm not sure, but I've got a lead. Coincidentallly, I've been keeping track of a particular type of power in Rio. I was going to find out who it was in a couple of months anyway, but it seems that is all we've got. Besides, we need everyone that we can get."

"Your telling me that you can track people all over the world?!"

"Before you come to any conclusions, let me explain. I can track certain kinds of signals, not just anyone. This person has been training so it isn't too hard to pick it up." They had crossed the busy street over toward the docks. Kadar preferred to use another boat to get to the next location.

"Okay. As Zodiacs, we keep the balance of the universe. But if there are multiple threats, such as the risk of World War and a hell-bent crazy madwoman, what do we keep the balance to? Do we go after the immediate problem at hand or take care of the escapee from Hell?"

'She sure catches on really fast,' Kadar thought to himself. His gaze moved toward the sidewalk as they continued along the main street. "I haven't decided on that. All we can do now is find the other Zodiacs."

"One more thing, Kadar."

He remained silent. Yet another, and hopefully the last, question.

"If you could sense this person all the way in South America, how come you didn't know who I was when you first spotted me?"

He turned his face toward her and did nothing, but smiled.

OOC: I want you to take care of it from here, "Ozy". I controlled you for a post and I think you should do the same for my character. Just to make it fair.

"Wakey, Wakey eggs and bacie." Jane was on all four staring at Camilla in her bed. "Come on Cammy the sun is shining and it's time to get up. Camilla rolled over and pulled the sheet over her head. "No get up now." Jane grabbed the sheet and began jumping on the bed.

"Alright already I am up. Happy now?" Camilla sat up and was immedatly sprung upon by Jane. "You know if some people actually think we are lovers and this is why."

Jane began to pout. "You are always so cranky in thr morning, Miss Grumpypants.* She gave Camilla a hugged which made her lose her balance and they both laid on the bed.

Camilla rolled her eyes and pushed Jane off her. "You can be such a pest at times you know that?" Jane began to pout once more. "Don't give me those eyes."

"I know what you need Miss Crankypants. YOu need a good cup of coffee." Jane jumped off the bed and ran int he other room.

"No tea. T-E-A! I hate coffee and you know it, Miss Suzie Sunshine." Camilla rumaged through her closet and grabbed a pair of shorts and a tight t-shirt. She left her hair a frizzy mess for now and walked out into the kitchen.

"So what time did you rollin last night?" Camilla took a seat at their two seater table.

Jane was wearing a pink apron, "Oh maybe two, three o'clock. Whenever I crawled into your bed." Camilla shook her head. Jane and her where like sister, but everyone including the neighbors think they are lovers. Jane placed a bowl of cereal in front of Camilla. "Eat. now."

Camilla looked down at the bowl of Cheerio's and made a face. "You know I hate cheerios."

"Oh well that all we have. Put some sugar on them and they will be fine." Camilla made a face but ate the cereal.

"Today we have to met at town hall with our agent right. We have that.." Camilla thought for a second. "fashion thing right."

JAne nodded. "Yeah soemthing like that. Vince didn't tell me everything. He did day we are going to the Alps next week. I can't wait for that."

"Yes it should be fun." Camilla looked at the cli=ock. "JAne did you turn off the alarm clock?"

"Yeah why?"

"Because we are are late!" Camilla yelled and grabbed Jane by the arm. "You know I hate being late." Camilla ran out the door dragging Jane with her.

[Praia do Joa (or tourists call it Joatinga Beach), on the edge of Rio de Janeiro:]

Images of the past ran through her calmed mind: battles and power struggles, peace and prosperity, country towns and city streets, rainforest dwindling then healing again. She felt the wind, heard the water and absorbed them into herself? then the images shifted sharply and a red tiger filled her mind?

?Karizmasophie! Vindo aqui, agora!?

?Ay!? Her eyes flew open and she brushed her long dark hair from her face. Turning, she looked at the clock. She was late. Kariz clapped her hands together and the candles in the semi-circle around her went out. She stood and ran down the stairs, her bare feet slapping against the wood. Her Grandmother (her avó) sat in the open sun filled kitchen, shaking her head at her.

?Menina louca! Do you really plan to train dressed in that fashion??

Kariz looked down at her cloths. She had a white tank top and loose sand colored beach pants that tied with the string around her waist. A raw ruby amulet hung off a thin piece of leather just under the hollow of her throat.

?Que? This is fine.? She went over to the coffee pot

?The coffee is cold. If you had come down with everyone else it would still be warm.?

Kariz shook her head and poured a mug. ?I was meditating. I can only do that successfully when my ruidosamente brothers are out? She held the mug tight in both hands until steam rose from the top. She grinned and went to sit next to her grandmother.

She looked over at Kariz?s mug and tisked ?Still, it?s no excuse. You should have started by now; you?ll want to do other things later.?

?Ay! I will do extra chores to make up for it, ok Avó??

The sound of pounding feet came up the porch and burst into the kitchen, knocking Kariz?s chair over. She glared up at her younger brothers, Anthonio and Estevez, who stopped and turned, smirking at her.

?Whoops, sorry Kariz?

?Yeah, maybe next time you should watch where you?re going, you could seriously injure a guy with a chair like that, muito perigoso.? They laughed, leaning on the walls for support.

?Está isso correto?? She picked herself up, and put the chair back. ?Honestly, I think I?m far more dangerous than that chair.? She started to walk toward them.

The boys ran from the room, tripping over rugs, skidding out the backdoor onto the porch. Kariz tackled Estevez down from behind; he hit the porch with a thud.

Anthonio doubled back and dove at her, taking her off the other, and rolling her to the other end. They wrestled for a bit, until Kariz got a shot in that cracked when it hit his arm. He groaned and pled for mercy and she laughed, standing, brushing her hair back.

Estevez grabbed her from behind and she stomped his foot. As she turned he punched her in the sholder, but it glanced off. Kariz swept his legs with a good hard kick and he stumbled, leaning on the porch rail.

A loud yell took their attention.

?Pai, what?s wrong?? she asked her father as she rushed into the living room.

?Look!?

Kariz stood with her grandmother and brothers, gaping at the TV in shock.

?Vladimir Punto, Prime Minister of Russia; Korean leader, Lee Wan-Yong; and The President of the United States of America, George W. Bush, along with everyone in the ENTIRE White House has been brutally murdered. These high-level assassinations are an unprecedented act of terrorism. We urge the public not to panic. Details at this time are few and varied. We will keep you updated on changes throughout the day??

Kariz stared through the set. She had trained her powers for 8 years, weighting for some kind of sign as to why they were given to her.

?Well, that?s one hell of a sign?

" Mister mister...."

Zane was followed by the voice of a small girl. He turned to see her running up to him, tears leaking out of her eyes. Zane was walking along a back-street in the capital city of Morocco. He was carrying his medical suitcase and had just left a patient.

Bending down swiftly to the girl, he wore a kind smile. His warm brown eyes comforted the small girl. His longish-spikey slate black hair slightly moved in the small breeze.
" Yes child?" he asked kindly, an expression of compassion on his face.
" My father.....he's dying.......please.....Angel Doctor....help him......"

Angel Doctor. It was what the locals called him. They were all very religious and pleaded to call him that, all thinking that he had come from Heaven. He was the only doctor in the city that didn't ask for any payment for his highly-demanded services. He was the only one who cared for the very poor and homeless.

Zane smiled.
" Take me to him," he said softly. The girl took his hand and led the man to a small shack three streets away. It wasn't much at all. A thatched roof that kept most of the elements out and a singluar large room. There was one bed in the room, which held the sickly man.

Walking over to him, he saw the man's wife and three other children cowering the in the corner of the room nearest to the man, all weeping silently. The girl pulled Zane over to her father, whose breathing was shallow and weazing.

As soon as the mother realised who had come, she began gibbering 'Angel Doctor' in her language so fast that the words blended together. She boldly stood up and came to Zan'e side. He bent down, checking the man's pulse and listening to his breathing through his stethoscope.
" Angel Doctor......how long?" the mother asked in her native language.

Since Zane had come to Morocco, he learned most languages the people had used there. There was many different variations of the base language. Luckily Zane was gifted with languages.

" He has not got long my dear," Zane said, looking up at her. She wailed and broke down into tears. The children hearing this, cried harded. Zane regretted saying it to them, but it was the truth. He crouched at the side of the man. He was dying from an advanced case of dystentry. It wouldn't be long.

" Sir.....I have the ability to grant you a vision......what do you wish to see?" Zane whispered to the man in the man's native language, so quietly that only he could hear it.
" My wife....and children....succeed....and be happy...." the man replied. Zane nodded and lay a hand on the man's forehead. Zane's brown eyes turned a crystal clear blue. The man's eyes widened as he saw what he desired. A smile curved the man's lips as he took his last breath. Zane saw his spirit pass out of his body and float toward the Heavens.

Taking his hand off the man's forehead, he told the family that their father had passed away peacefully and would wait for them in Heaven. He gave the family enough money to buy them food and arrange for a proper funeral they desired. They thanked him a thousand times over before he left, refusing the gifts that they wished to press upon him. However, when approached by the man's wife with a gift that he wasn't able to refuse morally, Zane bent his will this once.

*****************************

Standing upon the balcony of his modest home, Zane overlooked the ocean. Its cool breeze ruffled his hair comfortingly. His home was a small one-storey house on the rural outskirts of the Moroccan capital. It was wedged between a small ridge of hills and the ocean. It was his small piece of Paradise.

Zane turned and walked inside his house, running his hand over the chain of the necklace the man's wife had given him. The pendant was a deep blue quartz. She had said it was her husband's most prized possession, and that he would want Zane to have it.

Turning on the lights to the living room, Zane collapsed on his sofa and stared at sky.

He turned his face toward her and did nothing, but smiled.

"What? You can't just smile, that's not an answer!" Kadar didn't respond. Ima sighed.

"Oh, ok, so I ask a lot of questions...this - this situation is just so...odd." Still, Kadar did nothing. Ima sighed, silently following him onto the boat.

***

Some time later, the boat entered the harbor at Rio de Janeiro. The Brazilian sun shone down, just as warm as the sun at home would be. The landsacpe was decidedly different, but beggars couldn't be choosers.

Ima rose from leaning against the rail. Time to find Kadar, I guess...

Kadar was wandering the ship...it didn't take that long to find him. He grinned as he saw Ima coming.

"What, more questions?"

"No...we're here. I just have no clue where we're going, so..." Disembarking didn't take long. All either of them had was in easy-to-carry packs, nothing that had needed to be stowed. Once in the city, Kadar stood still.

"What are you doing?" Again, a straight answer did not come. Kadar merely pointed North.

"We have to go that way." Wordlessly, he began walking. Also wordlessly, Ima followed. What else could she do, in a strange country, with a strange man...

Why am I doing this again?!

Death? war? there would have to be a war. The last world war was over the death of some duke in a small country. This?. this was far worse. ?History is a nightmare from which I?m trying to awake?. Joyce had hit that one square on.

Kariz finished her push-ups and sat back on the porch, watching the waves roll in. She stood and went out onto the beach, clenching her toes in the sand.

It was times like this people needed something, or someone to believe in?. what did she believe in?

She sat on the sand and looked out over the water, feeling the sun?s warmth on her face, listening to the waves wash in and out. She cleared her mind and she could hear trees rustling beyond the house, and other wildlife in their habitat.

This was what she believed in. This was real. The energy in the earth and in nature, she new there was power there.

She looked in her hand as a small fireball appeared. She ran her fingers playfully through it, like a cat with a ball of string, watching the patterns of the dancing flame.

?Whatcha doin? out here?? Anthonio sat down next to her

?Nada, just thinking.?

He nodded and stared out at the water for a bit in silence

?Pai wont move from in front of the TV and Avó is banging around the kitchen so roughly we may have to eat off paper plates tonight.? He joked, looking at Kariz to see if he drew a smile.

She rewarded him with a small smirk, then closed her hand, looking out over the water.

?Anthon, I want you to promise me something.?

?Que? Anything.?

?Whatever happens, you have to stay here and look after Pai and Avó. I may have to leave at some point, and Cristian is in México. I want to know that they?ll be ok.?

?Sim, I?ll take care of things. You don?t have to worry, it?ll be ok.?

She nodded and smiled at him. They sat there for a moment more, looking at the water, than he nudged her, raising his shirt leave revealing a large greenish purple bruise.

?Damn girl, look what you did to me!?

Kariz turned and laughed, reaching over and mussing up his hair.

?Oh suck it up, you?re fine.?

It was a good two hours that Raven and Rubedo sat in the cell together...with long chains strapped to Rubedo's wrists and the wall, there was no point in trying to escape. He was however becoming irritated with Raven's persistance. He could tell by the look in her eye that she was becoming impatient...but she seemed determined to get at the bottom of the situation; not like Rubedo knew much anyway about it. Letting his hair fall over his face, Rubedo simply closed his eyes and drifted into a dark oblivion as Raven kept her presence known in the cell.

Finally...after now three hours..."I never got your name detective..." Rubedo spoke as he opened his eyes and returned the gaze that Raven had been giving him for the past few hours.

Raven was quite annoyed at this Guardians persistance to resist and avoid her questions...but...she didn't have much choice, so she answered him calmly and professionaly. "Raven...call me Raven."

"Nice to meet you Detective Raven; I'm Rubedo.....I'd shake your hand but...I'm chained to the wall, so please forgive me."

He's become quite the gentlemen all of a sudden...what's he planning...

"I'm not planning anything...the anxiety and curiosity rising within you is unnecessary at this moment in time..." he proclaimed; interrupting Raven's thinking.

"So...you can read my thoughts Guardian..."

"No...just your feelings...living as long as I teaches you how to read those feelings..." Rubedo sighed loudly and snuggled himself up against the cement wall.

Again, the room went quiet for a moment...neither one of them saying a word till Raven broke the silence.

"Well...if you don't choose to talk; then I might as well give you your options Rubedo. You either cooperate with me and help me figure all of this out...or you will be executed...it's that simple." Her voice seemed to demand respect as she leaned back in her chair and crossed her arms. "So...are you going to talk to me now and answer my questions...or are you just going to sit there and rot."

"Let us get one thing straight my dear..." Rubedo now slowly getting to his feet..."save your threats, if you know about Guardians...then you'll know that feel no fear for death..."

"Then please Rubedo....help me..." Raven was trying to hold in her hatred for the being...all the murders that he had committed...she just couldn't grasp it all...or understand the purpose behind all this.

"There's no point in hiding your hatred for me...I'm quite used to it in this world. I merely carry out my orders...a puppet for all time."

"Who gave you those orders then Rubedo..." Raven sensed the opening that he was trying to give her in an instant..."who's behind all these attacks...what's the purpose behind it all?"

Rubedo began to pass back and forth in his section of the cell..."who knows the will of God...truly. Other than he...we beings of flesh and blood do not have the pleasure of hearing his voice. They're hardly ever the same...but holy being's of this world come to me with a purpose...to kill...to heal."

"You of all people should understand that...to see the corruption and violence in this world. The typical citizen's eyes are blind and naked to the world within their own...of crime, drugs, sex...you know this. The same is in regard to you and me...there are far more things at work here as I told you when you had your gun pointing at me."

"Then tell me...if what I'm hearing from you is true...I get the feeling that those other murders that you committed were for a higher purpose...something beyond my understanding; fine. But what of the presidents...who told you to kill them? You must know why?" Finally...this man was starting to talk...she needed information...and she needed it fast.

"Reoan...a powerful Guardian has turned against God...seeking revenge for he and some other I do not know. She came to me with a proposition...to show me a new way of living. You must understand Detective..."

"Please...call me Raven." trying to be more personable.

"Raven...I'm a killer...and yet I also save...forever alienated from the rest of this world. My soul will never die...never with a purpose of it's own...as I said...I'm a mere puppet to those above." as he looked towards the ceiling. "I don't know why I continue to live this way...but it's the only way I've ever known. So Reoan came to me with a new way...or what I was led to believe."

"So what did she tell you to do?"

"She gave me a new mission...to kill those political leaders...for what greater purpose...I don't know. But I followed through without question...I know in some shape or form...all of them had wronged God in a great way...other than that...I don't know what else I can tell you."

"Tell me of the other Zodiac's..." Raven was now persuing more...she now at least had a name...now for the details.

"Humans such as yourself...they're being gathered as we speak...or so I've been told. It is said that the Zodiac....as well as Guardians such as myself will bring about balance to the times to come. I can only imagine what will sprew from my works....whatever it may be....I'm sure you and I will become a major part in the battle ahead."

"A battle..." Raven was worried at what that might entail.

"Oh come now...you know...World War 3...Armageddon; the end times..."

"Yes I know that...but what the hell are we to do about it?" frustrated and confused...she was drawing more and more questions unanswered than finding real answers to this whole mess.

"I'm sorry I can't tell you anymore" as Rubedo fell back to the ground, leaning up against the wall yet again. "I myself am waiting to see what kind of part I'm to play in all this..."

"You already have become part of it...you killed those men...it's your fault that this is happening!'' her voice was booming...this guy would just not crack. She began walking straight towards him in her rage as Rubedo quickly got to his feet in a flash, coming face to face with her...his arms now being pulled in back of him due to being chained to the wall.

"It is not the end yet...you and the Zodiac still have time to figure this all out."

"And what about you..." her voice quickly became weak from the burst of adrenaline...her body still acked with pain from their fight earlier...

Rubedo looked down at her hand and ushered to take it..."give me your hand..."

Taking back by the request, she cautiously stuck it out for him to hold in both of his hands. Without taking his eyes away from hers...she could slowly feel a warmth spreading through her entire body. The pain within began to subside at his touch...

"I don't know what I'm to do...whatever God has for me." he let go of her hand and walked back to the wall; leaning up against it as he stood.

"Even after all this...you still follow God?"

"I will forever serve him.....but....Raven...there is only so much a man can take. So...what now detective?"

Jacob held Reoan's arm gently on his, whispering what seemed like sweet words into her ear as if they were ancient lovers. Reoan smiled playfully as the made their way up the stairs into the long hallway towards the hotel room.

"I do not like the feel of this." Reoan suddenly changed her temperment as they closed in on their room.

Jacob, too, suddenly felt the eeriness in the air and stepped slightly away from Reoan to grab his gun from his waist. The thickness in the air grew as they both stopped, breathless in front of the door. Without looking at each other or saying a word, they threw the door open and prepared for a battle.

Jacob was the first to rush in, gun cocked and ready. He surveyed the area before Reoan entered silently. She had a fire burning in her eyes and her body tense with annoyance. She held her body erect, shoulders pulled back firmly and her head held high. She showed no sign of carrying a weapon nor a fear of being attacked.

Upon seeing the two dead followers, bloody on the floor, Reoan let out a savage growl as she clenched her fists.

"Reoan!" The ex-Guardian brought her eyes up just in time to catch Amber running at her. She took the girl into her arms as she began to sob. "Oh Reoan! I am so sorry. He was far too much for us to handle."

Reoan ran her fingers delicately through the girl's hair, listening to her sob. Suddenly, without warning, Reoan grabbed a handful of her hair and pulled it back. Her gaze dug into the girl's very soul and she squirmed with fear. Jacob watched Reoan, concern creasing his face. The look he saw dancing across the hellion was one he had prayed never to see.

Reoan bared her teeth in some form of wicked smile as she threw the girl towards Jacob. He caught the little demoness effortlessly and slumped towards the floor. The girl weeped as if her life had been threated. Jacob hid her face into his chest as he brought his head up to watch Reoan. She walked past him as if he didn't exist.

Upon entering the small space that kept the other bed just on the other side of the small kitchen like area, Reoan dropped her head down and to the side, a wicked grin creasing her near perfect face.

"Oh you're back. We've been waiting for you." Ben motioned towards the Grigori offspring that had apparent evidence that he had been in a pretty harsh battle.

The massive man dropped his shoulders and snuck off into a corner upon seeing Reoan's face. Ben only smiled at her, hoping for a challenge, Reoan suspected. She smiled, no sign of her intent coming across her features.

"You definitely need help," Ben said bodly at the ex-guardian's display.

"Oh no, my dear foolish human. It will be you who needs the help once I'm through with you." Reoan's voice was unfamiliar to his ears as she began to walk towards him, nothing in her hands or on her body.

Ben pulled the blade up and pointed it at Reoan. "You might want to stay back. I'm pretty good with this thing." Ben said mockingly.

"And I've killed mortals for less." Reoan continued to smile as she came closer to him.

Ben posed himself and took a quick swing at her with the sword. It barely missed her tender flesh, but it didn't look like she was trying to avoid it either. He brought it around in a beautifully display in skill as he thrust it forward. It hit its mark--right above her breast, away from her heart. The blade slid through with a terrible sound and blood rushed from the young woman's body. But not a sound came from her mouth as she shoved herself onto the blade, the tip bursting out her back. She reached forward and grabbed a hold of Ben's shoulders, shoving him against the wall. The hilt of the sword shoved itself deep into his throat, making the man choke for air.

"You think that I spent nearly five centuries in Hell and didn't learn tolerance to mortal wounds?" Reoan spat in the man's face. She watched him choke, his face beginning to turn colors. Her smile widened as she shoved the hilt farther into his neck. "You've killed valuable people to me. Those willing to die for my cause and by all right I should have your damned head. But I think I'll spare you this once. You stay at my side, keep your mouth shut and stay out of the way, and I'll let you live. You refuse or fight against me and I will kill you here and now."

Despite his attempts to struggle against her hold, Ben was just not able to break free. And even if he did, Jacob was sitting right in the next room with Amber. He did his best to nod to the arrangement.

Reoan shoved the blade one last time before letting him fall to the floor, clutching his throat. Not completely trusting this human, seeing that he fought against her once already, Reoan pulled the blade from her shoulder and shoved it deep into his abdomen. The man cried out lightly as he grasped the sword with his hands.

"You think of turning on our agreement and try to stab me in the back, I'll cut you in half." Reoan growled as she turned away, David getting up from the corner to check on the human.

Jacob had laid Amber on the bed, covering her with the blankets despite the noise from the other side of the hotel room. As soon as she seemed comfortable, he rushed to find Reoan.

Upon seeing the blood rushing from both sides of her body and pouring all over the kitchen floor. He rushed to her side and reached out to touch her, to examine the wound when Reoan swirled around and landed her fist into his face. He swirled around and landed heavily onto the floor. The sound of his crash brought Reoan's head down to look at him, her numbness apparent on her face until she saw his eyes. Her body slumped and she nearly fell onto the floor herself if Jacob had not caught her. Blood poured over the both of them as Jacob held her close to his body.

Lucifer leapt from his seat reaching Azrael at a unnatruarly fast speed grasping the angel's shoulders and forcing him into the wall. His eyes were wild and an uneven breath stirred in his lungs,

"You lie," He hissed between clenched teeth, pushing Azrael harder into the wall. The angel didn't respond to the violent behavior or obvious pain that should have graced him. He was lucky, never knowing pain. Azrael shook his head at Lucifer, locking into his gaze,

"I lie not Lucifer." He spoke gently, pushing back against the fallen angel, who let go easily, "The Lord offers you his forgiveness in this time of need. Reoan must be stopped at all cost."

Lucifer scoffed, turning from the angel and stalking towards the center of the room, "So I have a price now? Is that all I am to you holy wretches? A tool to use at your whim?!" He turned, his eyes sunken and dark, "I will not be bought by the father just to be thrown away again!"

"Lucifer," Azrael approached him, his eyes soft yet stern, he placed his hands either side of Lucifer's face pulling his forhead to his own, an angelic sign of affection, "My brethren, my old friend Lucifer...."

"Azrael," He choked softly, sounding close to tears that would never come to a damned creature such as him, "I trust you more than the Lord himself. But why...?"

"Because he still loves you Lucifer," Azrael spoke softly, his eyes closed, "Our Lord is forgiving, and he will grant you back into the kingdom of heaven if you aide us in the fight against Reoan."

The two went quiet for a moment in their slight embrace as Lucifer's mind worked over the offer. He had a hard time grasping the concept, for all he knew within the past millenia was pain and detatchment from his creator. The chance to go back was enough to drive him mad with power, but what if he decided that's what he wanted? Power.

"Seeking alligances with Reoan for the war on heaven would send you back to Hell." Azrael spoke suddenly, as if reading his mind, "The lord gives you this one offer, and only once."

Lucifer pulled from his old friend, turning his back to him and crossing his arm. He cleared his throat slightly as he looked at the floor, "Tell him that I will think on this offer."

Azrael, nodded slightly, hesitating before he left the fallen morningstar to think on his new descision.

I wanted to die when I found out that God had taken you from me. Wanted to end it all, but I knew that I would only return to this plane again to serve out my duties. So I did the next best thing, I went about seeking revenge for your death. If I would have known you were Adiol--one of God's precious little angels, I would have never touched you. Would have left you where you laid.

An angel with heavenly blonde hair, pearl white wings and a body made of perfection stood before the massive crowd that Reoan had gathered some time during the age of the crusades. Behind the angel were a bunch of loyalist and a dozen angels, all waiting for his cue to attack. But no one seemed to move.

"What are you doing here, Adiol? This doesn't concern you!" Reoan shouted above the roaring wind at the angel that had been her mentor in so many lives before.

"Oh, but this does Guardian." The angel's voice was deep, sweet and succulent, washing over the warrior like a tidel wave. She tried to shake the feeling, but couldn't.

Adiol motioned for the angels to step forward, taking the front line. They all seemed to be nearly identical to their leader, while the humans behind them varied in so many ways. Reoan noticed in that very moment how much she had grown to envy humans in their free-will and various personalities. So free to be what they wanted, when they wanted to be, with little to no consequence.

She reached down to her waist and drew her broad sword, throwing it forward and pointing the tip at Adiol. "I will not hesitate to kill you angel, and send you back to the plane you came from!" She screamed at them.

"How do you plan on doing that Guardian? We are immortal." Adiol laughed at her, placing his hands on his perfect hips.

"Cut those precious white wings of yours and you become one of us. You bleed like we do and you die like we do!" Reoan sneered, pulling her sword back down in front of her.

The hand of God fell deafly silent as he stared at the woman, knowing if any one could cut the wings off an angel it was Reoan. She was ruthless and now blood thirsty with revenge.

Reoan smiled at his silence and now she had just told her army how to kill the twelve angels that stood before them. She cried out her battle cry, rushing forward to take on the loyalist that stood before them. Her army followed with a roar behind her, swords and various other weapons drawn. The two armies collided with a sickening crash as the battles began to rage about them all.

Reoan easily sliced through who ever stood before her, which seemed to be mostly humans. Their blood covered her body as she pulled her sword through guts, necks and various other body parts with little to no effort what-so-ever. Finally Reoan came to stand before Adiol, blood spilling all around them.

She rushed at him, her sword colliding into his with a thunderous erruption. The two eyed each other. Adiol could see the hatred burning within her soul, spuing from her eyes over him. He was betraying her more than she even realized. He took a deep breath and shoved the warrior back. She landed as if nothing had happened and charged again. Adiol swirled out of the way as he blocked her attack. She, too, spun around to try and deliever another attack. He blocked that too as he extended his wings in an attempt to distract her.

"You miserable angel!" Reoan cursed as she danced around him and through the blade through his right wing. The angel cried out in pain never felt before as he nearly feel to his feet.

"Did you forget? I know you're weakness and I want your death!" Reoan screamed as she pulled the blade away, watching his crimson blood wash over his white wings.

He turned around and slashed at her mid-section, landing a small wound across her stomach. She caught herself and stumbled back. A human raced towards them, aiming for the slightly distracted Reoan. Adiol was the first to notice the man. He swirled around, folding his wings behind him as he lunged forward seeming as if he was attacking Reoan. She braced for the impact as the blade raced past her and sunk deep into the flesh of a loyalist charging her. Reoan turned her head to watch the man fall to the ground, lifeless. Her eyes danced with bewilderment as she stared into Adiol's eyes, noticing something there she hadn't before.

The war ragged on around them, but all seemed oblivious to the angel and Guardian. There longing looks at each other, the pain they had both endured and what was to come of them both. Who was to know that their tangled romance was going to bring about the greatest change the earth had seen in a long while.

Reoan was the first to move again, sinking her sword deep into the angel's side. He bit his lip as he pulled his body from its blade. Blood rushed from him, covering the already muddy earth. Reoan regained her composure as she squared herself off again, blade held firmly in both hands. That's when Reoan noticed that the angel she thought she had known so well wasn't healing like he usually did.

"What have you done, Adiol?" Reoan questioned, standing up straight as the angel backed away with pain.

He brought his head up, looking into her eyes, tears slidding down his face. She just couldn't understand what was going on and she had grown so numb to every thing she truly didn't care. She rushed forward, knowing Adiol's weakened state, her blade held back to deliever a blow that would surely kill him. But Reoan under estimated him.

He brought his sword up, despite the pain and shoved it straight through the center of her chest. Her eyes flew wide, tears of pain forming at the corner of her eyes as she dropped to her knees stiffly. Adiol watched her, as he stood up to shove the blade through her back. Blood burst from her mouth and sprayed over his white shirt. As she fell back Adiol took her into his arms.

"You..." blood spewed from her mouth, her eyes nearly bursting from their sockets.

"I have something to tell you, Reoan." Adiol held her close, as if she was an old lover.

She reached up, with what little strength she had to take a hold of his white collar. She clenched her teeth together firmly, her hands shaking and blood covered.

"I took on a human form shortly after you left my side in this life. I had grown so much in love with you and could no longer bare being without your touch. When I died, I went to Hell, as Caleb and not the hand of God. My love for you would never end until God told of your betrayal to earth. He offered me the chance to return to Heaven with an angel body if I came to Earth and destroyed you." Adiol's last words nearly missed Reoan's ears as she slid from the reality she had known so well into the Pits of Hell. Lucifer to greet her at the very doors she had sent so many too.

***********************

As Reoan's vision cleared, she could take in the sight of Jacob. He sat not far from the bed, in a small chair sleeping soundly. The room smelt of cleaning materials as she looked about to see where every one else was. The Grigori half-breed, the demon girl and the human laid on the far side of the room, all seeming to be sleeping.

Reoan pushed herself up to a sitting position, pulling the covers back to rest on her lap. Her shoulder was bandaged, but blood had still managed to seep through. She was half hoping to feel some sort of ache, pain from her new wound, but there was none. She smiled half-heartedly.

"Why do you stay?" Reoan felt her voice crackle upon speaking.

The noise stirred Jacob and he turned to look at the ex-Guardian. Tears had fallen down her face and she hadn't even realized it.

"Because this is where I am needed. This is where the world will see the new change. I don't want to say I'm in love with you, Reoan, demoness and destroyer of God's way. But I part of me is eternal connected to you. I am here for you, no one else, to help you because its what satifies me." Jacob said without asking what she had said to begin with. "I know Amber is here because she looks up to you, and the Grigori mutt sees you as a mother of sorts. I know the others that help have their own plans for you and your outcome, but leave that to us for now. You worry only about putting things in motion and taking back what is rightfully yours." Jacob got up and walked to the bed side. He ran his fingers through her hair lightly as he urged her to lay back down.

"Your wound should be completely healed in the morning. You should rest, we'll have to leave again at first light." Jacob whispered as he pulled the blankets back over her.

She nodded slightly as she watched Jacob started towards the chair again. "Jacob..."

"Yeah," he turned his head towards her.

"Thank you."

He smiled brightly as he sat down in the chair again, watching Reoan drift off to sleep.

"Look. It's sunset." Ima pointed toward the horizon and made a look toward Kadar, hoping for a reaction of some kind. Anything was better than having this man act this way.

"It'll be dark. We should find a place soon."

"We're here." Kadar pointed toward a bench. "Sit down," he said as he gestured toward the bench with a calm urgency. Ima sat down without the slightest clue of why he wanted her to sit. "Now we wait." He sat down and crossed his arms. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, as he contemplated what was to come next. Then Ima knew how to change his expression back to its casual carefree form.

"Kadar. While we wait, I was wondering what kinds of strange events have happened to you. You know. How you became aware of your abilities."

'She's being careful not to make any questions by turning them into statements,' Kadar thought to himself. But then, his focused thoughts turned to ones that seemed misplaced and far way.

"..."

"..."

"Where to start..When I was eight, I had made my first encounter with a demon. Like every cliche story, he was evil and sought for blood. I had wondered away from the camp site and ran into him. Lilterally! Unfortunate for me, he knew I wasn't looking where I was going.."

The horizon had turned a beautiful crimson red and striking orange. A man and a woman were standing at the water's edge. They were too far to hear what they were saying.

"..The demon grabbed my arm and dug in. A chunk of my arm was now missing and the demon was not satisfied with such a small chunk. I lost consciousness and I found myself in the hospital. The perimedics had said that the wound looked like a random animal attack. My arm had recovered the chunk that I had once lost. I knew that humans cannot regenerate like that and that was not the last time I would face such a creature."

The sun had gone and the stars began to shine through the blanket of blackness, called the sky. It was odd, but Ima could see that particles of the air had sturred as Kadar continued with his story.

"Years later, I was about thirteen, I met some good friends who had the same experiences as I. Not losing an arm, mind you, but of confronting demons and the like. They taught me 'the ways' and helped me to discover my power. It was time to aquire experience.."

The particles were not only of air, but of particles that were unlike the ones she could have not possibly have imagined. Kadar's eyes opened, but were blank. Clear of emotion.

"We went to a cemetary where we heard that a demon had been eating the nearby souls. It was the same one that I had encountered before. When we got there, it was sitting on one of the gravestones. It was waiting for us. He spoke in a strange tongue, but for some reason I could understand it when no one else did. Everyone thought that I was halucinating and I just wanted the attention. The demon proved them wrong.."

Kadar's irises had suddenly turned clear and yet, full of color. Ima could see patterns swirl in an endless swarm of warmth and hollowness at the same time. The woman on the beach noticed what was transpiring as Kadar's aura was flickering in and out of sight.

"..He spoke in plain english that I could understand him and he warned the others to stay back. He wanted the rest of his meal. He wanted to taste my unique energy. An energy that was not even fathomable by even the most ancient beings. What he said after that is something that I will never forget."

His aura had ignited and the air about them stirred as if it was scared at what was happening. His eyes had turned completely red and the two people on the beach were standing staright up. Kadar's aura formed red then white and back again, creating an erie flow.

"Show me your true self! Show me the energy that you had back then! BRING IT OUT! I want to see what the ones of ancient times had spoke so highly of! The Creeping Resonance!" It was a voice that was unlike Kadar, but at the same time it was more like him than anything else.

Kadar stood up from the bench and made his way toward the couple on the beach. The air about him moved away as he calmly paced toward them. The woman stood in front of the man as if to protect him from the dangerous looking pressence. Ima remained on the bench, witnessing the display that Kadar had made for all who were present. But in the corner of her eye, she could see that the woman had an aura of her own. Not of air, but of fire that surrounded her hands.

Kadar stopped four paces away from them and looked deep into the woman's eyes. She suddenly grew unsure of what to make of Kadar. Then, as if it had never happened, the aura had dissapeared into nothingness leaving Kadar with a calm smile on his lips. "My hunch was right. You must be the next Zodiac: Aries. It's a pleasure to finally meet you."

"Anthon. Go back home. I want to talk to this man for a little bit." The man walked off, but was a little concerned.

"I am Karizmasophie. What is yours?"

===========================

An hour later, the three sat on the beach talking. It was mostly Kadar, because he was the only one who really knew about the entire situation. But the question that was at the back of Ima and Kariz's minds were to what had happened to him not long ago. It probably was best not to bring it up now.

"..So now the world is on the brink of chaos and we Zodiacs are the ones destined to stop it." His expression seemed normal enough.

'It's definitely better then the emptiness from before.'

Kariz was focused on every word that came out of Kadar's mouth. Ima, however, was still sceptical. "Now that we have the details, what do we intend to do about it? Governments are at eachother's throats and have their fingers on the button! It seems, given our location, we can't do squat!"

"I already have an idea," Kadar announced. "What do you intend to do?"

"Wait here." Kadar stood up and walked toward the water's edge and then into the water itself. "If we can't get to them to convince them, then we will have to stop them indirectly." His aura activated once again It wasn't the sinister one before, but his normal one. However, it flashed with sparks and air. A strange humming grew around them.

Kadar stopped waste deep as the current threw splashes around him. The water itself began to push away until it had been pushed back enough for him to be standing out of the water. The humming grew louder and Kadar's aura turned into a violent yellow with gray streams swooshing around him.

"WHAT IS THIS?!"

"IT'S AS IF NATURE IS SINGING A TUNE TO DISTRACT US!"

Instantaneously, the hum died out and Kadar's aura faded as he leaned over. "Its ov.." Kadar flung his hands into the air and let out a scream as an explosion of air and deafening sound surrounded him and rushed out in every direction.

"What the Hell?!" Ima and Kariz cried out. They cluched their ears, trying to protect their drums from exploding. The blast eventually faded and Kadar stood still, taking deep breaths. "I learned that from an ancient I once met." Kariz and Ima took their hands away from their ears, but could still hear the humming.

"What was that all for?"

"You sure ask a lot of questions! You hear that sound don't you? Anyone who has special hearing can hear that.." Kadar turned and pointed to what seemed to be nothing but space. "..All around the world.."

"But what is the meaning of this? Why do something like that?"

Kadar walked back to where they were standing, while taking deep breaths between entences. "Radars, transponders, tracking devices, and anything that uses technology to find targets have different signals. However, all these signals have a core wavepattern. The sound you hear disrupts this wavepattern and leaves certain equipment basically useless, particularly weapons of mass destruction and everything of that sort." A smile spread across his face. "Although it doesn't last long, it will buy us the time we need to find the rest of the Zodiacs." His breathing was beginning to pick up some more as sweat poured down his face.

"How long?" the two woman asked in unison.

"Two weeks." Suddenly, Kadar looked around as if trying to see something. A serious look came across his face. "Someone is watching us." On the last word, Kadar had passed out and fell over, completely exhausted.

?Low stamina. Minus 20 points.?
The Zodiacs looked around. Indeed, someone OR something was watching them. They knew they were alone for meters around but the voice rang clear and nigh, as if carried by the sea breeze that blew around them. The Archer had told them about her; surely, it couldn?t be anyone else.

?Aha!? Kariz pointed east. ?Show yourself, Tabris!?
Laughter. The angel replied with sweet laughter. It sounded like she was getting nearer, to within an arm?s reach. Then a figure suddenly materialized inches away from Kariz, causing the Zodiac to stumble backwards. ?Bang. You got me.?

She walked over to the Archer?s insentient body and casually kicked him on the arm. ?My, my. What are we going to do with this one?? Her white hand dug into his hair and pulled him up to her level. Nothing. Even as she shook him, the Archer slept on, numb to the crude treatment he?s getting from the angel.

?Hey!? Enter Ima, who, at that time, thought it best to intervene than to risk further harm. She held on to Kadar and tried to pry him out of the angel?s grasp.

?Alright. No need to get protective.? With a flick of her wrist, she shook Ima off her charge and sent her flying into Kariz?s arms. Wings sprung from her back and lifted Tabris and Kadar of the ground.

?Where are you taking him??

?Tell me, Water-Bearer," Tabris turned to face Ima. Her wings blocked out the moon and left only the faint light of a silver halo to illuminate the angel. The Zodiacs looked upon her face and saw a smile so beautiful and at the same time, naughty. ?Do you think you can find that out by yourself??

~o~o~o~o~o~

A mile inland and you?ll find a little inn natives call The Cherry House. From the name itself, one?ll reckon that it was one of questionable repute and really, it was. Just a few minutes ago, a woman in black leather (probably from the nearby red-light district) dragged a man (probably in a drunken stupor) in there and checked in.

?You shouldn?t have left them like that.?
On a bed that creaked with the smallest of movements lay Kadar. So far, it had not made a sound even when the occupant was fully conscious.

?Nah, we shouldn?t spoil them.?
Tabris was on the veranda, tapping cigarette ash at the merrymakers below. ?Never mind that they?re new to this. The sooner they learn to track, the quicker you?ll find the others.?

Raven looked at Rubedo carefully. There was so much pain in those eyes of his. They were the windows to his soul. Whatever you could see in them, was his very soul. Her eyes softened slightly, although she never let her guard down - something that was always up when conversing with relative strangers.

The words 'there is only so much a man can take' rang in her ears. They touched her personally. She knew how it felt to be always doing a master's bidding. It was something that tired your body and your spirit. By the look for Rubedo's eyes, he was wearing thin.

Raven gently touched him on the shoulder.
" What now dectective?" Rubedo asked again, half looking at her.
The woman sighed. " You will be executed, most probably by lethal injection."
Rubedo nodded, the chains slightly chinking as he moved.
" Will that kill you?" Raven asked, not knowing the full extent of a Guardian's power.
" We shall see," Rubedo replied unemotionally.

A sudden feeling of sadness struck her.
" Why do you feel sad for me dectective?" Rubedo questioned, turning his gaze to the small barred window in his cell.
" When I was young, I sold myself as a slave to pay for my grandfather's well-being. That is why I have become as resilient as I am, perhaps too resilient. I know how it feels to always have a master, or someone that you have to do things for."

She didn't realise what she was saying. No one in the whole AIS unit knew what happened to her when she was a child, and yet, she was telling a relative stranger about her secrets. Raven shook herself mentally. She took her hand off of Rubedo's shoulder and backed out of the room.

" I'll be the one escorting you to the execution room for your injection," Raven said sadly before leaving. Rubedo let out an exasperated sigh.

At the Chief's office...

" Sir, I'd like to request immediate leave," Raven said as she stood to attention before the Chief's desk. A stunned look played against his face. The sunshine from outside warmed the room.
" I thought you were a workoholic Raven. Why this sudden request?" the Chief asked curiously, although he didn't hide the definite note of shock in his voice.
" Something ....urgent has come up. I don't think I can be completely focused on the job while this goes on."
" Would this have anything to do with that man you encountered today? Rubedo?"
" No. Completely unrelated."
" You don't lie well Raven, you never did."
" Look, Chief..." Raven shut the door. What she was about to say was going to shock him. " These things that are going on, the assassinations of important world leaders, the strange uprisings of cults, all of that - I'm involved." She looked at him with complete resolve.
" How Raven?"
" It is difficult to explain Chief."
" I'm open."
" You wouldn't believe me if I did."
" Try me Raven."
Raven sighed. " Chief, I'm one of the Zodiac, Gemini - the Twins. I am one of 12 people that are going to decide who wins this apocolypse. I have the ability to control lightning, or electricity. That storm that lasted those few days, that was my doing, but I wasn't in control of it. It was merely a show of my emotions."

The Chief stared at her in disbelief.
" Raven........what kind of drugs are you on? Do you know what you are saying? This is ludacris. No human is able to do that." He started sniggering.
" Fine. I'll just show you."

Lightning started to crackle as storm clouds gathered outside, seemingly appearing out of nowhere. Rain started to poud down against the windows. Lightning flashed and thunder rolled. The Chief now stared at Raven whose whole body was like a lightning conductor. Her neon yellow eyes freaked him out the most.

" Do you believe me now?" Raven said, in the voice that was what the Chief called her battling voice.
" Yes......I do.........."
Raven breathed deeply, letting the power subside. The clouds disappeared and the sun shone warmly again. " I don't want to initimidate you, now that you know, but I need this leave Chief. I should have accumulated a couple of months easily. I'd like to take that all. If it is possible."
The Chief had recovered from his shock and smiled warmly at Raven.
" Miss Heroic....." was all he could say. He stood, walked around his desk and gave her a warm hug. " When you're finished galavanting around the world, trying to stop World War 3, come back here. There will always be a spot for you here. Just try not to get killed."
Raven laughed. " I'll try my best. If you ever need me urgently, page me. I'm going to take that thing with me. Oh.....and you know me, I laugh in the face of danger!"
The Chief let her go and she walked out of the room. " I'll miss that girl."

The execution.....

Four hours later, the day had grown into night. Raven was escorting Rubedo to the execution, although Rubedo could sense she was planning something. She led him to a small room. There was a seat with straps on it. Some people would struggle before they would get the shot. However, Rubedo was perfectly calm. He sat down in the chair calmly and waited there. A single tear leaked out of Raven's eyes. Why she was sad was the fact that he was prepared to die, because he was so tired of life.

The doctor came over with two syringes. Behind a one-way mirror, a few delegates sat, waiting for the man, who murdered their leaders, to die for what he had done. The Chief sat with them, the same with Nathan. Raven stood inside the room, watching the doctor carefully. This hadn't been her first execution, but all the same.

Standing beside Rubedo, the doctor was about to plunge the syringe into Rubedo's arm when the lights went out in the two rooms. The delegates stood up in confusion.
" What is going on?!?!" Nathan remarked rather loudly.
In the darkness, the Chief could see two figures running out of the room. " Goodbye Raven."

At Raven's apartment...

" I hope you do know that you didn't need to save me. I was quite capable of getting out of there on my own steam," Rubedo said as he looked around Raven's penthouse apartment. She gave him a glare.
" If that's the way you want it, then so be it," she replied coldly. The night had grown old. The shimmering silver moon was full and high in the sky. She had shown him to the spare bedroom, and shown him where the bathroom was. Rubedo was now standing around, waiting for Raven to join him in the living room. She was cooking some chow mein for the both of them, although she wasn't entirely sure he needed the sustainance.

Handing him a noodle bowl full of the hokkien noddle chicken and shrimp chow mein, Raven sat on her couch, fiddling with her chopsticks. Rubedo sat uncertainly down on one of the single seats. Raven looked over to the Guardian.
" So what now Guardian?"

Watchs the angel leave with Kadar.

?Pássaro dum raio! Are you ok?? she said as she helped Ima to stand

?I think so. What did she mean ?find that out by yourself???

Kariz stood and stared in the direction they had gone. ?I think it?s our job now to find the others.? Turns to Ima ?Come on in and get some food before we leave.?

They walked into the house. Avó was setting the table.

?What?s for dinner??

?Açorda. Will your friend be joining us? I?ll set an extra place.?

?Yes, thank you Avó.?

Ima nudged her ?What is açorda??

Kariz smiled ?It?s clams and homemade bread, dry soup.?Ima nodded and they sat down to eat.

During dinner Kariz had explained to her family that she had to go and they seemed to accept that, though her father ate silently and went back to watching TV as soon as he finished eating.

Kariz took Ima upstairs so she could pack her bag and figure out where to go next.

?I like your room, a lot of candles? Ima said, sitting on the bed and watching her pack

Kariz smiled ?They come in handy, speaking of which?? she packed a couple and grabbed some cloths from the closest.

?So, should we find Kadar first? And how are we supposed to find the others? I don?t know about you but this is all very new to me.?

Kariz paused and sat on the bed next to her ?Well, I?ve been in this gig for about 8 years. Granted I didn?t know exactly the who what?s and whys, but I?ve got a pretty clear idea now. Kadar can probably take care of himself once he wakes up; he struck me as the strong type. I?ll see if I can sense the next zodiac. After that I?ll do what I can to help you develop and use your powers if you like.?

Ima smiled ?Thanks?

Kariz nodded and went over, turning out the light. With a wave of her hand the candles in the room lit and she sat on the floor and closed her eyes, concentrating.

At first she detected multiple auras of angels, demons, and others she couldn?t pick out. Then, as she narrowed her concentration, one aura stood out. She wasn?t sure why, but it was the best she had. She opened her eyes and stood, turning on the lights.

?Ok, I think our next destination is Greece.?

"Alright, how do you know that? What did you do?" Ima asked, she sounded kinda exasperated and Kariz could understand why. This was a alot to throw at someone who did know anything about it before hand

"Meditated. It's a good skill to have, I'll teach you on our way over. And I'm voting for a plane to get us there, a boat would take far too long"

Ima nodded "Yeah, the faster trip the better."

Kariz went over to her dresser and pulled out her dad?s old leather shoulder holster with her . 40 s&w in it. She strapped it on and put a couple jungle knives on her belt. Kariz then threw on a knee length beat up brown leather coat to cover her weapons. She grabbed her bag, clapped her hands and the candles went out. She smiled at Ima, and they headed down the stairs and out the door.

Eating away at his bowl of noodles...Rubedo didn't say a word while Raven sat uneasily in her chair..waiting again for him to speak.

"Um...Rubedo..." she was getting impatient again..."I asked you what we're to do now."

Swallowing what was in his mouth, keeping his eyes focused on the bowl he held in his palm..."I'm eating...after..."

Raven could feel the electric current flowing through her veins as it boiled. She couldn't believe the nerve of this guy..but..she figured it was best to eat something first. So she sat in silence eating out of her own bowl.

When the two of them had finished, Raven took both of their bowls and began to wash them in the sink. Yelling back to him in the living room..."So...what now Guardian!?"

"We wait..." he responded quickly as she walked back in and took her seat.

"Why must we wait..."

"If these Zodiac are too join together...then they must be already seeking each other out. I'm sure with time...that they'll find you as well. You'll be easier to find if you stay in one place...but we can't stay here in this home for too long. They know that you helped me escape from the execution chamber..so this will be the first place that they'll start."

"I understand...my boss will buy me some time first...so we should be safe for tonight."

"If you say so..." Rubedo leaned back in the chair and closed his eyes.

"You said that they would fine me...what about you?"

"What about me?" he slowly opened his eyes again, annoyed at her persistance.

"Are you leaving...after everything I've done...you're just gonna leave me! I risked my job for you pal..."

"And that was your own foolishness...I told you I could have escaped whenever I chose too...did it not occur to you that I wanted it."

Raven knew exactly what he was talking about...the point he was making. She tried all that she could to keep her emotions in...her past memories and feelings flooding back. She could only imagine how this Guardian felt within...

"I'm sorry...but I thought you'd be able to help me in all this. You said it yourself though...that both Zodiacs and Guardians will bring about the balance of this world...we might as well stay together...right?"

Rubedo raised to his feet, clutching his fists together...becoming rather annoyed at all of this..."I...thank you for the food, and for wanting me to live...........one day I'll repay my debt."

"...ok" she didn't know what else to say...maybe she was pushing or assuming too much.

"I'm tired...let me know whenever you decide to leave." he turned his back to her and walked into the spare bedroom.

Raven said not one word to him...she quietly packed her things for the next morning..and drifted off to sleep.

***3 hours later***

Meditating upon his bed...his legs crossed, palms firmly placed upon his knees, Rubedo began to focus his thoughts...regaining the energy he had lost in the past couple of days. His body was beginning to crave action once more...this damn restriction from his master was becoming quite taxing. He wasn't getting hardly any action anymore. Without someone to dictate him...he felt lost.

Awakening from his trace..with only his black pants on...his upper body exposed with the scars, Rubedo walked towards the balcony when he saw Raven's door wide open to her room. She was naked as she slept over her silky sheet, peacefully sleeping the night away.

Not stopping for even a moment...Rubedo made his way up the fire escape, finding himself at the rooftop of the building. The moonlight shining down upon his red hair looked like it brought it alive..his golden eyes sparkling in awe as he looked up at the full moon. With a gentle breeze blowing through his hair as it came across his face...he breathed in the cool night air as he reflected...

The Zodiac are already coming...good.....least I'll finally find out where this will go.

The castle walls were being torn down; the town below burning to ashes...a war that will never be recorded in human history. The humans fighting their own war, while they...the angels and demons forged their own in the shadows. To protect the human cause..to further prolong the rebellion, to fight evil of any form.

They've killed your lover...they've killed the one family you did raise up as your own. Friends...everyone...you were made to watch them die. By both angelic and demonic hands..slaughtered like simple cattle. What will you do now....what will you do?

Reading from his journal, Rubedo closed it and placed it into his back pocket. The book couldn't have been any bigger than that of his hand. But within carried his entire life...this was his only source to his past. All his memories...lost from one life to another; only leaving the experiance...feeling and scars..no recollection of why...or when.

Only on a few occastions did he ever died of unnatural causes...not that of old age, either being executed, defeated in battle; in those times his book was lost. But then...was soon found again. At his old age...before his death, he would always pass it to a care-taker...one who would return it to him when he returned.

Shining in the moonlight, you could get a glimpse of how glazed over his spirit felt...shown only through his eyes. He felt so tired of this body...his powers almost uncontrolable with this mortal form. Why did she have to save me...

"Because she chose to save you..." replied a voice in back of Rubedo. He slowly turned around, already knowning who it was.

"Albedo...my master...finally you show yourself."

"I'm dissapointed in you Rubedo...do you have any idea what you've started..." his tone was serious as the angel approached the guardian.

Rubedo was silent...he didn't care nor seem to bother at the thought...it wasn't the first time that the world was at risk of being destroyed like it was now.

"What's done has been done...I have no right to place all of this on you. It is Reoan that is our main concern at this moment...however the Zodiac will be preoccupied with the war brewing."

"So what will you have me do..."

"Oh Rubedo...even now...you still stay loyal. How did it feel...not having to answer to me...not having to kill anyone...to live out your own choices."

"Are you tempting me Albedo with human emotions...you know our code."

"Yes..I do...I wrote them...I'm simply trying to teach you...to further develope your growth." as Albedo placed both hands on Rubedo's shoulders. "I love you my boy...and I am very pleased with you; forget about those politicians...you do what you feel you need to do."

"Alright..." Rubedo kept his answer simple...we hasn't much of a talker like his master was. He had gotten out of that a long time ago...there were no more heroes in the world anymore...why should he continue to...

"Rubedo...I want you to stay with this Zodiac...get to know them...let them get to know you. And you'll be able to help them..."

"Whatever you say Albedo..."

"What..." Albedo stepped back from Rubedo..."you didn't call me master...why?"

Rubedo stood silent, his expression blank upon his face...but something much much more deeper lay underneathe. "You've been a father to me Albedo.......but something must change. I will seek out these Zodiac with Raven...but I will not call you master again. I won't be tighed down by you anymore...I will obey..but nothing more than that."

For a stranger reason, a grin spread across Albedo..."I respect your decision Rubedo...I will always look upon you as a pupil...but you're right...I wont hold you down any longer...not like those Grigori."

"Thank you..." replied Rubedo as he leaped down from the rooftop into Raven's balcony and went to sleep.

...For a couple of moments...Albedo stood on the rooftop alone...Finally...he learns...

OCC: All those coming to Greece...I take it you're coming to find Raven. We'll be waiting:) Reiku...your turn.

Ima follow Kariz from her house to the airport, her pack heavy on her back. They were halfway through the checkouts, almost to the metal detector, when Ima's stomach flopped.

"Um...I just thought of something..."

"Que? What is it?" Ima pointed at the detector.

"You have a gun and knives, I've got a gun and a sword. That is not going to go over well."

No, I don't think it will." The two women looked around. Distraction, distraction... Ima happened to glance up. Her eyes caught hold of a little sprinkler. Ah ha... She nudged Kariz.

"Hey...your element's fire, right?" Kariz nodded. Ima jerked her chin upwards. Kariz caught on instantly.

"That works..." She narrowed her eyes. Ima half-watched her, half watched the security gaurds. Tiny air particles were shifting, rubbing together, becoming brighter as the friction caused them to heat...there was the tiniest wiff of smoke - and every sprinkler in the lobby went of, sending frigid water cascading down onto the waiting passengers. There were yelps and outraged cries as the passengers got an unexpected shower.

"Hey! What kind of airport are you running here?"

"Look! My luggage is ruined!" People's nerves - already frayed and tense from the news - seemed to have reached their last straw. A tiny, yet very angry, mob formed around the ticket counter. The secruity guards glanced at each other, exasperated.

"We'll be right back..." Ima glanced back. She and Kariz were the only people not paying attention to the brawl that was starting. She grinned, jumping over the rail to bypass the metal detector, climbing back into line just as if her luggage had already been scanned. Kariz followed suit. The sprinklers clicked off, and security returned.

"Sorry about that, folks..." Kariz smirked slightly.

"We're not..." She and Ima laughed most of the way to the plane. Rio was a small airport - one security check, and that was it. Ima watched everything with interest...compared to what she'd learned in the last day, even, people rushing back and forth on business seemed incredibly futile. She followed Kariz the rest of the way onto the plane.

"You ever been to Greece before?"

Reoan rotated her shoulder, another scar to add to the scores of those created from previous injuries. Jacob was ushering the human, Ben, into the other room while she stretched. Another relocation, this time to far warmer climate. Illinios and New York were terribly cold, even for the onset of summer. But this place; this climate was near perfect. Not nearly as hot as hell had been, but warm enough so she didn't feel like she was freezing to death.

"The human seems to have lost a lot of blood, Reoan." The half Grigori stopped into her room, the two rooms only being seperated by a small wooden door.

"Will he make it?" Reoan held her shoulder for a moment as she awaited the reply from the Grigori.

"He seems to be a fighter, just fear that all this traveling will cause more harm than good."

Reoan nodded. "Well keep a close I on him. If he starts slipping, send him to the hospital."

David looked at her curiously. "What?"

"Even if Ben does return to the humans, we have little to no threat from him. He doesn't believe in God and the likes, so he won't run and tell them. And if he told the humans what truly is happening here, they'll think he's crazy."

"Ah," the Grigori nodded. "Never thought of that."

"We know." Reoan smiled. "Now go."

The Grigori bowed lightly and walked back into the other room, ducking so not to hit the top of the door way. It was hard enough trying to find a motel tall enough to so David could stay with them and trying to explain Ben's condition wasn't any better; constant protests that they should bring him to the hospital. It was damned irritating.

"Look what I found," Jacob walked into her room, holding the back of a young girl's neck.

Reoan cocked her head to the side and scowled at the dark eyed girl before her. "I told you to stay home, Amber." Reoan growled at her.

"But there's nothing there for me!" The girl protested, trying to pull away from Jacob.

Reoan waved her hand and turned around. Jacob released the girl and she fell to her knees right in front of him. She looked up at Jacob, giving him a cross look before turning her attention back to Reoan.

"Please, Reoan. I want to help. Please let me help." Amber whinned.

"Gather her things and send her on her way." Reoan said without turning back around to look at the girl.

"REOAN! Please!"

The ex-Guardian continued to do things about the room, pretending not to hear her.

Amber dropped to the floor completely and began to cry, tears pouring down her face. Jacob watched her as he stood above her. Reoan still stayed firm.

"Send her back."

"Reoan, we're running low on funds." Jacob said above the noise causing Reoan to turn around.

"I can help!" Amber sat up, her face soaked with tears. "My parents started a fund for me and I know the pin. We could use that. They've put lots of money into it, they're rich and all!"

Reoan looked down at her for a moment, a bright smile streaked across the girl's face. Reoan brought her eyes up to Jacob who smiled in return, nodding lightly. Rolling her eyes, Reoan agreed to keep the girl with them.

"Now if you don't mind, I'm going to take a walk--by myself." Reoan added as she threw what she had in her hands on the bed, scooping up her dagger and shoving it into her clothes. Jacob protested her going out alone, but she refused to take any one with her. She wanted to enjoy the warm sun and Earth air that she had been denied for so long.

The warm, tropical air wrapped itself around Reoan's almost fragile body as she walked along the shore line of the small island. The sun was starting to set and the water looked beautiful under its light. The birds and small mammals that ran about called out, enjoying themselves as the earth began to cool itself.

I'm coming for you Adoil and your little angels. Reoan smiled wickedly.

It was a clear night sky and the moon showed dimly upon the lonely street. Yasuo walked along the side of Hiroko keeping his eyes upon the ground before him, and his hands in his pockets. His bass was in it's case, strapped to his back like a backpack. Hiroko carried nothing but the clothes she wore. She noticed Yasuo's staring at the road before him and snaked her head down under his line of sight to catch his attention.

"What's the matter with you?" She said in Japanese.

"Huh? Oh, nothing." Yasuo replied.

"Oh come on, don't, 'oh, nothing' me, mister." Hiroko said, "I can read you like an open book. Now what's wrong?"

"Nothing... just you..." Yasuo paused and looked at Hiroko, both slowing their walking for a moment. He grabbed one of the straps on his guitar case and said, "...and Kenji. I'm worried about you."

"Oh..." Hiroko looked down at the ground and then up towards the sky. They shared a silent concensus and quickened their pace back to normal and didn't speak of Hiroko's relationship with Kenji for the remainder of the night. Yasuo shifted the bass on his back and returned his hands to his pockets. He looked ahead at the sound of some laughter in the distance. A group of drunk teenagers lumbering around, laughing loudly and making quite a ruckus. Yasuo paid it no attention until one of the four spoke to Hiroko as they neared.

"Hey Baby. Come on over and keep me company tonight." This man was nearing six feet tall. His nose was large and seemed to encompass his entire face.

~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~

Yasuo opened his right eye, that blinding light, he rolled his head to try and avoid it. Ooo, the pain of just moving hurt him so. What happened? He thought to himself.

"You're awake." A voice that sounded like Kenji's came from the direction of Yasuo's feet.

"Wh-what, where I am? Kenji, is that you?" Yasuo called out, desperately searching for his friend.

"Yeah, your mom's outside. I'm going to get her." Yasuo could hear Kenji start to get up, and he tried desperately to remember what happened, and where he was.

A light flickered in Yasuo's mind, "Wait, Kenji, where's Hiroko?" A moment or two passed before Yasuo could hear Kenji make any sort of noise.

Kenji then spoke, "She went home. Yasuo, do you remember anything?" As he tried to think, flashes of blurred images came to him. He stared at the large one with the big nose as he slapped Hiroko. Yasuo saw himself move forward and strike his gigantic nose, able to see the blood fly out in every direction. The others were on him in the next instance. Pain struck his right cheek. He felt pavement for a moment before he freed himself from his bass and spun around to face the four. Standing in the shadows Yasuo heard a thud and then a crash of glass and everything went red. He felt pain all over his body and heard grunts coming from deep inside of him. The last thing Yasuo remembered was a scream. Hiroko's scream...

"Kenji... where am I?" Yasuo muttered.

"...You're in the hospital."

"Kenji... how long-"

"Four days... you've been out cold for four days..." Kenji choked on his words, obviously fighting tears.

"And Hiroko? Is Hiroko ok?!" Lunging out of his bed to see his friend, his chest hurt almost feeling a crack and fell back against the pillow. He could feel Kenji's hands upon his chest.

"Yasuo, stay down, you have to let yourself heal."

"Hiroko, where's Hiroko?" He whispered. Why were tears in his eyes, surely she was ok, she has to be!

"Yasuo... Hiroko... Hiroko was raped. She's home right now."

"No... no..." The tears were uncontrollable, the pain in his gut greater than the dull thud going through his head right now. "No, it can't be..."

~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~

Two months later Yasuo was in his room lifting a barbell with his right arm, sitting in his room, with his music blasting throughout his tiny house. Hiroko had moved four weeks ago, and the band had dissipated. Yasuo felt as if he had no one left in this world. He only worked on strengthening his mind and body now, wishing he could change the past. A total of three broken ribs had healed, his left hand had been fractured, four fake teeth, and a long, barely visible scar streaked down the left side of his face. Yet the deepest scar had been struck to his best friend. How he missed her presence.

Enough reminiscing, he thought to himself. Putting down the weight lightly on his floor, Yasuo walked to the kitchen to grab himself a drink. As he looked over to the television screen he could see something important and groundbreaking was on the news. Politicians killed? Heh, Yasuo liked the sound of that, but something seemed to turn his stomach as he drank the contents of his glass quickly.

"My Lord, thy mistress has been sent to the haven. The troops are ready to desert the premisses."

A man, equipped with shining armor and donning two blades, knealed and waited calmly for a reply. The day had hardly begun and they were already planning to evacuate the city in hopes to not get caught off gaurd by the enemy.

"What word do you have of grigori brigades one to six?" Another man in the most intense of armor stood before the knealing knight. His armor was the brilliant platinum ever concieved, and with the helm in place it was all the more brilliant. Nothing else suited this man more than the perfectly kept suit.

"They are ready for the order and have finished preparing the bombs."

"Excellent. Be ready to give the order in two hours. I'll be off to tell the others."

The man stood up and looked into the helm, directly at the man's crimson colored eyes. "If I may, My Lord? May I dare ask to why you have chosen to follow them? You are the proud leader of the human forces and yet you allow the ones from heaven to order you around. Don't you have the dignity to speak the part of us humans?"

The man in the platinum armor did nothing, but stare back. "We are treated like useless pawns. Us! The children of God! They are meant to serve us not the other way around!" With that, the man struck the knight with the back f his hand, nocking him over.

"FOOL! We are treated like pawns, because we can do nothing more! AND YOU DARE REFER TO US AS THE CHILDREN OF GOD!? I ought to smite you here and now! We may be equals, but have you ever faced a grigori or an ANGEL on your own!?" The man turned away and paced toward the balcony. "This war is one that will have no end. The angel referred to as Reoan wishes for our demise and we hand it to her with each act of pig-headedness that we justify with such idiotic ideals. Remember this! You serve me, not them! And when I say die for nothing, you will do just that or be struck down by my own hand!"

He left the knight and headed for the throne room. "Yes, My Lord," was all that the knight could say. These are trying times and he did not have the time to argue with the intent of the Order. He ascended the golden stairway and made toward the towering door. Two gaurdians were manning it and each reached to open the way when they saw him coming.

Wasting no time, the man entered and began to address the court. "The time is nigh and we await the final battle!"

"Good, but when we have abandoned the city your troops may have their leave from our order. You are free to do as you wish." The voice came the head angel at the other end of the room. The man was shocked at what the angel had said, but half expected it. "When this is over, we will let leave you to your war then," the man answered back. His platinum armor shone even more brightly. "I will be off then, Adiol Hand of God."

==========================

After the destruction of the city, the platinum armored man's troops had parted. Away from the battle to come.

"MY LORD! DOES THAT MEAN WE ARE TO DO AS WE WISH? WE ARE FREE FROM THEIR ORDER?" The knight's hope was high and other men around him had rejoiced.

"Silence! If we were to fight then Reoan's army would surely fall! Adiol knows this good and well." The men had grown silent at the man's bold statement.

"You surely don't mean that the Hand of God would allow that to happen? They can fight their own war without our help." The platinum armored man drew his sword and it glowed and shined even more so than his armor. Its golden hilt and silver-lined blade resonated with strength and vigor. It slashed at the soldier who spoke out of line. Blood splattered across its fine splendor. "Speak out of line and you will be freed from your mortal coil!"

The man sheathed the blade. As it slid home, the blood steamed off and cleared as the magic cleaned the sullied weapon. The man reached for his helmet and took it off. His hair fell out to reveal its silver-platinum color. His eyes were more clear and his face was calm and claimed a focused composure. "We will not fight, because we were ordered to. We will not come to aid, because God willed it. We will fight, because we must. We will fight for the good of mankind and exsistence itself! And we will not fail or my name isn't Sir Eloc Freidon of God's Order!"

The army of humans had joined in the celebration of their great leader.

"TO BATTLE!!!" he cried as he once again revealed his sword. He hopped onto his white stallion and charged toward the battle field that had awaited the future of their race.

Tabris had made herself comfortable in the chair at the foot of the bed. "They will have to tend to themselves for a while."

Kadar had remained still even to those words. But all of a sudden he flinched violently, clutching his chest and shouting something repeatedly.

"SIR ELOC FREIDON OF GOD'S ORDER! SIR ELOC FREIDON OF GOD'S ORDER!"

Tabris stood up and couldn't believe the words that were coming out of the Zodiac's mouth. "How do you know of that name?!" She clutched his shoulders, trying to get an answer. He was still unconscious. He calmed down and was still once more.

Jane adn Camilla enetered thetownsquare. They both had been out of breath. Camilla wasn't sure how far they had run, but she knew it was far. Vince would kill them both if they weren't on time again.

Vince came into veiw. He stood by the fountain and was looking at his watch. He was a tall man with black messy hair. Camilla once remeber him saying he was from some part of Korea, shoe couldn't remeber the village though. He always looked so professional. Todat hewore a plain black suit with a light blue tie. He looked up seen the two girls and waved.

"Youtwo made it for once." They both where bent over and panting. Camilla blue hair hung around her face, wind blown from the run. She was able to give a small smile through her panting.

She stood up and brushed the hair out oh her eyes. "Told you we wouldn't be late again." she had ragained her breath, but Jane hadn't.

Vince laughed. "Figures you would get her on time today." The two girls looked puzzled."The job was cancelled because what all have been happening. I tried to--"

"What?!" Both the girls screamed at once.

"Not my fault both of forgot your cellphones." Vice smiled at the two frustrated women. "Well to make it up to you two how about I take you to lunch."

"Can we pick?" Camilla eyes sparkled with mischief.

"You two can go. I am going to book it." She grabbecd Camilla by the arm and whispered in her ear. "Nows your chance to alone with him Cammy. Go get him." She released Camilla and smiled. "Okay check you latr you two.' She waved and ran off.

Jane I hate you so much. She clenched her teeth. It was true that she liked Vince since themoment she met him. The only reason she had ever gone out with any other guy wasto get him jealous it never work though. Besides there was the unwritten rule you never date your agent.

"So what wher e you two whispering about. Plottiing against me." Vince was only three years older than her.

"maybe. Doesn't matter anyways because itt's girl talk and you will never find out." she tanted him.

"Yuo can tell me I won't tell a soul."

"Nope because you don't know how to speak girl." She teased.

"That's not far no man knows how to speak girl."

Camilla laughed. "That's why it's called girl talk. Silly." she hit him in the shoudler.

"So where do you want to go?"

"Don't care. Anywhere is fine with me." As long as its with you. Thoughs words she would nevre say to him though. she didn't have the courage.

~~~
Camilla had spent all day with Viince. They really didn't do anything but talk . That was okay with her though. She just liekd being close to him. She walked down the street with a smile on her face. She was in no hurry at all and wanted to savor the moment. She looked up at the night sky. It was so beautiful. Though something in the air did not feel right to her. "Must be my nerves. With all this stuff going on just about everyone is scared."
She reached her apartment and brought out her keys. SHe wasn't sure if Jane was going to be home or not. Knows ever knows about that girl. She was a good friend though. She couldn't complain to much.
She turned the knob and it was open. "Jane I am home." She called out.
Jane came running out from her bedroom. "Welcome home. So what happened? What did you do? Did he say anything?" Jane was talking really fast and her words wher espilling into each other. It made Camilla dizzy.
"First off Jane slow down. You know one can understand you when you speak at the spead of sound. Second we didn't really do anything. We just talked and walked." She threw her stuff down on the couch.
"I think you are lieing." She p ointed a finger in Camilla's face.
"Nope I am not. I am going to bed now." She headed to her bedroom and shut the door on Jane.
"Oh come on Camilla let me in. Please." She knockedont eh door. "Fine be that way." She could hear Jane's pouting in her voice and she shook her head.
Ben fell asleep for a while. But sleep just wasn't something he was going to get a lot of, he realized. Not if things kept up, like this.
'Damn...' Ben said, wincing as he sat upright. He noticed his shirt and coat were gone, but his guns and sword were next to him on the table they'd laid him out on.
'Crazy bitch.' he said, looking down to his blood-covered chest and the wound that had all but stopped bleeding.
'Don't move.' one of the men said, 'Or you'll open that wound the rest of the way, again.'
'Probably,' he said, 'You don't have a needle and thread in here, do you?'
'Yes,' the man replied, 'But, you don't intend to...'
'Yeah,' Ben said, 'I do. Just get 'em.'
The man left the room, returning a few minutes later with the needle and thread.
'It would be better if you let someone else do that.' he said, handing Ben the items.
'Yeah, probably.' he said, 'Got anything with alchohol in it?'
'I can get it.' Amber said, leaving the room.
Ben watched her leave, a frown on his face.
'What is her deal?' he asked, 'Actually, what's the deal with all of you guys? Why do you follow that crazy...'
'Don't.' the man said, 'We follow her because we believe in what she's doing.'
Ben grinned, 'That it?'
'What do you mean?' he asked.
Instead of answering, Ben turned to the half grigori.
'How's it goin', biggie?' he asked.
'Feel better,' he said, 'The pain doesn't last long.'
Ben smiled in earnest, 'Good.'
'Want help?' he asked.
Ben chuckled, 'No, that's alright. I can get it.'
Amber returned with a bottle in hand.
'Thanks.' Ben said, unscrewing the top and tossing it across the room. He took a few deep breathes and tipped the bottle over his wound. A hiss escaped his lips as the liquid hit his exposed flesh and ran down his chest. Liquor mixed with blood, the smell filled the room. After the bottle was nearly three quarters gone, Ben brought the bottle upright, then drank the last of it in one go. Then, he threaded the needle.
'You've done this before?'
'Yeah.' Ben winced as the needle pierced his flesh.
'What happened?'
'Something pretty similar to this,' Ben said, quickly, 'Only, less with the whole 'psycho guardian' thing.'
After a few minutes, Ben cut the thread and stood.
'That,' he said, 'sucked. Where's the shower?'
'Shower?' the grigori asked.
'Yeah,' Ben said, 'I'm covered in blood and scotch and it's not even Saturday.'
Amber and the grigori laughed. The grigori, not so much for getting it, but it sounded like it was supposed to be a joke.
'Back there.' Jacob said, nodding to the room behind Ben.
'Cool,' he said, turning, 'Don't suppose you have any bandages?'
'We will by the time you're done.' he said to Ben's back.
'See you, then.' Ben said, 'Oh, and Amber...'
'Yes?' she asked, looking a bit excited.
'Don't get any ideas.'
Her face fell, 'Spoil my fun.'
Azrael ndded, touching a hand to the Fallen Angel's shoulder as he turned to leave.
"I'l leave you to think on it than. I'll be waitintg outside when you make your descision. Lucifer...I hope...I hope you choose to join us in Paradise again. I've missed you, my old friend."
Lucifer waved him on with his hand.
"Just go! I'll tell you when I've figured it out."
Azrael stepped out the building, and sat down on the curb, watching a trickle of water from the evening's rain slither towards the sewer grate. Silently, he began to weep. Weeping for his old friend, weping for the world, and weeping for himself. He didn't want this mission. Didn't want to have to fight his friend if it came to that, like it had when Lucifer had rebelled. He wanted to retire. To leave the mantle of the Angel of Death and never have to take another confused soul to judgement. But he had to. Reoan would plunge the world into chaos and madness, death and destruction. he had no choice.
"Why God? Why me?" he whispered as he cupped his face in his hands. The mission had to go on though. He stood, shaking water from his wings, wiping the water from his face. He crossed his arms and watched the door, hoping Lucifer would make a descision soon.
The morning light awoke Raven from her slumber. Laying naked over her black silk sheets, she brought herself up on all fours, her cobalt blue hair drapping down the sides of her face.
" Well at least I have a few months off. The Chief will be able to explain my disappearance to everyone. Poor Nathan. What's he going to say when he finds out I'm gone? I bet he's going to miss our little reparteys."
Sliding out of bed, Raven heard the balcony doors open and close.
Must be Rubedo...
Not thinking much on it, Raven walked into her own bathroom and started taking a shower. The warm was wonderfully warm. She let the water run over her back and stomach. It soothed some of the pain that still existed from her and Rubedo's fight. His healing powers healed most of her injuries, but it left a dull ache.
Raven quickly got out of the shower and dried herself off. Walking back into her room, Raven got dressed in some casual clothes: a tight, short-sleeved shirt and some navy blue cargo pants. She also brought a leather jacket out, knowing that it was going to rain. She walked to the kitchen where she found Rubedo sitting at the table, looking as if he was in a trance.
" Rubedo?"
He opened his eyes and looked coldly at Raven. " Yes?"
" Oh. Sorry. Was just going to ask if you wanted some breakfast?"
Silence hung in the air. Raven supposed that was a no. Ingoring Rubedo's glance, Raven walked into the kitchen and make herself a fruit salad out of watermelon and honeydew. She walked over to the table and sat down. There was silence. Raven started to get agitated with Rubedo. She liked to have him talk to her a little, even if it was for five minutes, she would be happy.
A storm grew outside. Rubedo noticed this.
" Not impressed Raven?" he asked, his voice emotionless as always.
" No. I'm just creating some cover for us. The Chief will know its me doing this. I showed him my powers and explained to him what I was. He should buy us a few days. I did ask him for leave. I have about three or four months accumulated. If something happens that I need to know about, he'll page me."
Rubedo was a little impressed on how her scheme had worked, but as always, he showed none of the emotion.
" I sensed that there are Zodiacs on the way here," he said solemnly.
" Really?" Rvane pretended to be sarcastic. He was getting on her nerves, now she wanted to get on his. " Wow. I didn't know that you know?"
She could see his body tense with frustration before he calmed himself down. " I don't appreciate your sarcasm Raven."
" I don't appreciate how you won't talk. Or at least answer a simple question."
Geez this guy got on her nerves.
" Well," Raven said as she stood, finished her breakfast. " I thought we could go shopping for you, to get some things for you, since you're going to be staying here a while. Like some new clothes and some personal items. What do you say?"
