Guest Alchemist
Hands Down, GUNDAM. Gad Guard is nice but it is not deep like gundam. and it lacks a little bit in story.Gundam has many series, and they are all good, except G Gundam SD Gundam and Gundam Seed. Thats all. Dragonboym2
I like Gundam better as well. I could go on and on why, but that would take to long. Yeah, G-Gundam was awful, and SD Gundam was even worse. But I love Gundam SEED. I'm looking forward to Gundam SEED Destiny. I've already seen some photos and models in a Japan Hobby magazine. Looks cool. "KAMEHAMEHA!" Dragonboym2
Guest VampireSeras
I would have to go with Gad Guard. I have been watching it on G4 TECH TV. It's a good series. Catherine bugs me though =\
Dagger
What the...? This thread confuses the heck out of me. How is it possible to compare a franchise that has spawned a needlessly complicated timeline of prequels & sequels (not to mention countless AU series) with a single show? I mean, Gundam SEED is totally different from Turn A Gundam, which in turn is quite unlike Gundam Wing, which in turn is totally different from Zeta Gundam, which in turn is (surprisingly) different from ZZ Gundam. And let's not forget about the really far-out Gundam anime, like G-Gundam and SD Gundam. I can understand comparing individual series, at least to a certain extent, but "Gundam or Gad Guard" just doesn't make sense. That having been said, I'll take Gad Guard over pretty much every Gundam show except Turn A. It's a good example of a "style over substance" anime done right--the artwork is to die for, and the animation is at times ravishing. The characters play their various roles well and manage not to be annoying. I absolutely love the slightly retro-looking mecha designs. Plus, Katana is glorious. :animesmil But getting back to what I said earlier, it'd be nice if the original poster elaborated on his intentions--or at least answered his own question. ~Dagger~
gundampali23
i havent seen gad but for a nebie ill pick gundam anyday thats what got me into anime. Sure sometimes the story plots are identical(war between colonies and earth, one boy who stumbles on a giant robot and fights guys with weird masks) If its so bad y do they keep making gundam. Get my point.

I really don't wish to sound harsh, but I don't think this thread can be given much more discursive tact than what's already been given. Besides, having hundreds of comparison threads such as this just isn't practical in a single anime forum if there isn't a larger scope for drawing argument and reason from.
