Pagan
Its that time of the year again wrestling fans. Its time for the grandaddy of them all. The main event of the year. The great, the grand, the WrestleMania. This years wrestleMania is being held in the Hollywood on April 3rd, and it appears to be a good one. Here are the matches along with my predictions World Heavyweight Championship: Batista vs. Triple H I see Triple H winning with aid from Rick Flair. Batista is going to dominate the match, but sadly will lose. This will lead up to Flair leaving Evolution and turning his back on HHH which will in turn lead to Flair 20th(???) title reign. WWE Championship: John Cena vs. JBL John Cena will ends JBL's reign. I see this because of his new music, him losing the US title, and because plai and simply the people want him to win and are tired of JBL. Women's Championship: Christy vs. Trish Trish wins just because she is hot good or evil. I actually don't know who will win this one, and don't care. Its two beautiful women fighting. Shawn Michael vs. Kurt Angle This is going to be the best match and I'm giving it to Kurt Angle. Shawn Michaels is a awesome superstar and a legend in his own right, and that's why he is coming to Smackdown!. Angle is going to break his leg and when he returns it will be to Smackdown!. Randy Orton vs. The Undertaker The Undertaker will win this match even though I wanted Orton to kill the legend. At first I believed Orton would win hands down because he has beat up so many old guys, but now they are making him into the villian, which is bad news. The fans decide who will win and they won't be cheering for Orton. Plus is so unafraid that he will be very afraid. Money in the Bank Ladder Match I'm going for Kane just because he is my favorite. If he doesn't win then it will be Jericho. This matches entire purpose is to decide 2 things who will be the new Intercontinental Champ and who will fight HHH for the title at the next Raw Pay Per View Big Show vs. Akebono Big Show is going to win just so Akebono will become a wrestler. After getting beat I promise you that he will interupt in Big Shows title match against Cena and then they will fight in the next Smackdown! Pay Per View Eddie Guerrero vs. Rey Mysterio Another good match. I don't know who is going to win this one and will leave it as a DQ for Rey because Eddie is going to start losing a snap. Stome Cold vs. Roddy Piper We all know they are going to fight and Stone Cold is going to Stunner him and give him a few choice words along with a middle finger. Watch and see. Anyone else have a prediction?

Samsara
HHH v.s Batista -- I see Batista winning it. It looks as if the WWE is ready to push him as the top face on the Raw brand, so yeah, I think he is taking the title. JBL v.s Cena -- Same situation as the Raw title match. Cena wins the belt to further push him. Trish v.s Christy Hemme -- Just as you said, I see Trish winning, but could care less about this match. HBK v.s Kurt Angle -- HBK wins it. Don't have a reason, I just think he will win the match. Randy Orton v.s The Undertaker -- I am praying for The Undertaker to win, but this is a very hard match to predict. I do not think, however, that Orton should be the man to end his streak. The Undertaker has remainded faithful to the company for over a decade. He deserves to keep his streak. Money In The Bank Ladder Match -- I see Kane winning it. I think the Batista/Kane match this past Monday was foreshadowing a feud that is coming. Big Show v.s Yoko..er..Akebono -- I am going to say Big Show. But yeah, this will be the restroom/snack break for me. Eddie v.s Rey Mysterio -- Eddie wins it with a heel turn. I am hoping for a Hogan/Hassan encounter. If that happens, Hogan better win. I don't see Austin and Piper going at it. I think they will tease it but won't actually go through with it, thus pleasing fans of both wrestlers.
Shinmaru
I'm sure that this year's WrestleMania will be fantastic, since the event is usually of a high quality. It's too bad that I won't be able to watch it. If only I weren't too cheap to buy tickets...I don't even live very far away from where the event is going to be held. Sigh. :( Here are my predictions. World Heavyweight Championship: Batista vs. Triple H: I think that the match will be going on last, and the fans will be sent home happy with a win by Batista. I don't think that it will be an incredible match, but it will be a great spectacle, since Batista has a pretty large backing at the moment. Should be neat to watch. WWE Championship: John Cena vs. JBL: Cena is going to win, of that I have no doubt. WWE would be extremely foolish not to capitalize on John Cena's immense popularity. He's probably the most popular and marketable wrestler in the WWE at the moment. Women's Championship: Christy vs. Trish: I don't really care, since the women's divison is all but dead. I hope that Trish wins. The only good thing that Christy has done is fake an orgasm in the When Harry Met Sally parody commercial. That commercial ruled. Shawn Michaels vs. Kurt Angle: Perhaps the match of the night here. If Angle is going to be retiring soon after this match, then I think that he should win here. HBK will be over with the fans no matter what, so I think that it would be fitting to send Kurt out on top. Randy Orton vs. The Undertaker: This is the best time to end The Undertaker's streak. If he doesn't lose it here, then I doubt that he'll ever lose it. I hope that Randy Orton wins, because he could sure use this win. If he doesn't win, I hope that he at least beats the holy hell out of 'Taker after the match to establish himself better as a heel. Money in the Bank Ladder Match: This'll be a great spectacle. I'm hoping that Edge will come close, only to get screwed over yet again by another wrestler, perhaps Chris Benoit or Chris Jericho. Maybe even Shelton Benjamin as the dark horse. The loss will add more fuel to the fire of Edge's heel character, which has been seventy billion types of awesome. Big Show vs. Akebono: Meh. I don't know, and I don't particularly care. Eddie Guerrero vs. Rey Mysterio: Should be an awesome match. I'm not actually sure who will be winning this match, which is a good thing. I hope that Rey Mysterio will come out on top, because it'll go a long way in showing that Mysterio is more than capable of hanging with the upper-echelon wrestlers in the eyes of the fans. Stome Cold vs. Roddy Piper: Stone Cold will stun the crap out of everyone, and I'll be kicking myself for not going to WrestleMania, because Stone Cold rules. Cap'n
now...I haven't watched wrestling in years, but what you're forgetting, Hells Fire, is that this is a wrestlemania and unexpected things will happen. Granted I have no idea what kind of character development has been going on, but this isn't just an ordinary pay-per-view we have on our hands. Shinmaru
Sometimes, yes, they do have Hell In a Cell matches. None have compared to the Undertaker/Mankind match.
Yeah, because most of them have been remembered for more than two massive bumps. I'm not going to take anything away from Mick Foley, because those two huge bumps he took off of the cage were absolutely sick, but the match as a whole wasn't that good. The first Hell In A Cell is still the benchmark match, in my opinion.
Charles
Triple H (c) v. Batista This is a difficult match to predict for several reasons. Originally the WWE planned to have Triple H wrestle Orton, with Orton taking the championship. So, with Batista's momentum, it would seem as if it would only be natural for the WWE to continue along with those plans and put the strap on him. However, it's Wrestlemania, and it's a title match involving Triple H. Do you remember Triple H's program with Booker T in which Booker was given huge momentum going into the match, as if he was going to be given a title run at last, only to lose and fade into obscurity immediately thereafter? Because Triple H and Batista are close friends I don't see Batista suffering quite as much but I'm not sure if the WWE are ready to commit to him on such a high level yet. Who would he work with? There are no top-level heels on Raw with the exception of Edge. Randy Orton seems like the logical choice but will be taking a leave of absence due to a shoulder injury following Wrestlemania. Unless the draft remedies the lack of heels on Raw, Batista wouldn't have any programs with potential to fall back on after his win. Still, I see Batista winning this one. Even having him lose and then win at Backlash would be a poor decision since his program with Triple H has been months in the making. It would grow stale by that point. I'd say that the WWE will capitalize on Batista's popularity and at least give him a short title run. Triple H seems intent on holding the title more than Ric Flair so it only seems logical that he wouldn't mind putting his friend over so that he can later add another title run to his resume'. JBL (c) v. John Cena A big part of me thinks that JBL should win and hold the title a bit longer. Just because Cena lost the US championship doesn't mean that he's going to win. That's not a valuable indicator. In fact, the WWE have used that swerve in the past. I haven't watched Smackdown in a while but I've heard that Cena's act has grown somewhat stale--that he has no edge. Although it's not entirely unlikely that Cena will win, I'd predict that JBL continues his reign and that Cena will get drafted to Raw where he belongs. If he does win, the WWE may follow their earlier plans and switch Batista and Cena to create new programs for each. Judging by the parallels they've created between the two recently, I'd say that if Cena wins, it's likely to happen. Trish (c) v. Christy I'd say Trish. But, it's not entirely out of the question for the WWE to have Lita help Christy pick up the win just to create an extended program between Trish and Christy if only because that will give them something to do in the failing women's division. Shawn Michaels vs. Kurt Angle Undeniably, this should be the best match of the night. It was prudent of the WWE to make this dream match before one of the two become crippled. It's Wrestlemania so Michaels is probably the safest bet. Sitll, there's the draft to consider and the WWE may choose to bring Angle over to Raw with some momentum since they're lacking in heels. Hopefully we don't see a classic match ruined by a cheap win that involves using the ropes to gain leverage for the pin. Randy Orton vs. The Undertaker Once again, it's Wrestlemania so The Undertaker is the safe bet here. And, as I mentioned above, Orton will be taking a leave of absence following the event. If you factor in how unhappy the company has been with his backstage behavior, then that's more of a reason to look for a 'Taker victory. You can't discount the fact that this could potentially be Undertaker's last Wrestlemania too. Still, I'm going to take the dark horse and pick Orton. The WWE will probably want to get him over as a heel so that he can have a program with Batista when he returns. Money in the Bank Ladder Match Edge will win if the WWE is going with Batista as champion following Wrestlemania and Jericho if Triple H is to win. Big Show vs. Akebono Akebono probably. I'll use this match as an opportunity to use the bathroom but I see Akebono winning since he's a huge star in Japan and a win for him is likely a part of their requirements for lending him to the WWE. It'll probably be super short too since they're afraid of him getting injured. And well, because if it's long, everyone will be put to sleep. Eddie Guerrero vs. Rey Mysterio I'll pick Rey Mysterio. The WWE will probably have Guerrero snap and turn heel as a result--if not at the PPV itself, then shortly thereafter. Regardless it will be a great match if given the proper time. It could even rival the HBK/Angle match. I can't belive that people are listing Piper and Austin as a match. It will be an interview segment in which Piper gets hit with a stunner. That's it. lol The Hogan/Hassan match would be awesome if it were to happen. Hassan would probably win though since there's talk of him potentially facing Austin in the future. Plus Hassan could use his win over Hogan in promos talking about how he defeated America's greatest hero.
Pagan
Yeah, because most of them have been remembered for more than two massive bumps. The first Hell In A Cell is still the benchmark match, in my opinion.
Yeah the bumps were a big overrated deal, but what impressed me was the beating Mankind took and still walked away. That is what really made this match what I consider the greatest ever. Though these matches were the greatest I think the Elimination Chamber will soon replace the Hell In A Cell. On a different note, what has happened to the womens program? I remember just a few months ago they were doing pretty good with Victoria fighting against Molly, Gail, and Trish. Smackdown has never had a good program because the women there don't have anything good to fight for, but what happened to Raw? I think one of the problems is they are hiring to many really pretty talentless girls. Plus, Charles now that you've mention it I can sort of see that happening, but in a different way. Why would they send the legendary Hollywood Hulk Hogan (or as I like to call him the origianal HHH) out losing to the modern day Iron Sheik it just doesn't make sense? I see a tag match with Eugene and Hogan against Hassan and Iron Sheik. Hogan and Eugene will win and this will lead to Eugene and Hassan fighting for awhile until it gets boring. Oh yeah and can someone please tell me what a heel is.
Galvatron
It's been to long since I have seen a WWE topic, as for predictions go for Wrestle Mania 21. Batista vs. Triple H I think Batista will win the fan's really buy into Bastista. It's going to be a even match with HHH and Bastista going back and forth. John Cena vs. JBL: I want to say Cena but I got a sick feeling that JBL will walk away. JBL will have some sort of dusty finish by knocking the ref down and then Cena will floor JBL with the FU. Cena will notice the ref is knocked out and when the ref gets back up. JBL will do a small package to Cena hold his shorts and have his feet on the ropes. Trish vs. Christy Tell the truth I will watch the match for Trish, she is so hot. HBK vs. Kurt Angle Kurt Angle will win via the ankle lock I have no logic behind my prediction other than i'm a Kurt Angle fan. Orton vs. Undertaker Undertaker should win this. Orton has been getting mixed crowd reactions from the fans for every time he has something to say about Undertaker. If Orton wins I can see him beeing hated for a long time by some fans, Money in the bank Edge has to win the WWE has him going crazy for the championship. Big Show vs. Akoebono Don't care for this match . Eddie vs. Rey A great match since I like both wrestlers maybe a great WcW type match. A heel is a wrestling term for a bad guy I think. PWNED
It's been to long since I have seen a WWE topic, as for predictions go for Wrestle Mania 21.
Yeah, I have been a bit off over the last half year right. I have ment to post topics for the PPVs but I didn't have time. Anyway to my predictions. Batista vs HHH- I see HHH walking out with the title and sice batista is an excellent Heel they are going to keep Batista Titleless for a while. JBL vs Cena- JBL is getting sent to RAW where he will feud with HHH after the next Draft. And since they are giving Cena the push then they are going to let him win. Trish vs Christy- I don't care. This match is pure eye candy only. Angle vs Micheals- I don't know who will win but I am hoping it will be Angle. Orton vs Taker- Orton will not beet the Phenom and since he will be out for a while then sent to Smackdown they will want to get this running for as long as possible. Money in the Bank- Edge will win this then fight HHH at Backlash Big Show vs Akebono- Piss break for me. Akebono will win because he is the Yokozuna ( Sumo Grand Champion). Eddie vs Rey- Eddie and Rey won the best match of 1998 award for WCW. This one will be a classic.
Heaven's Cloud
Triple H vs. Batista In some respects I agree with Charles. After Randy Orton?s failed face push is the WWE ready to give the strap to someone so freshly turned? Last time they did that it blew up in their face. Right now the WWE has a pretty safe heel champion in Triple H, who can wrestle and cut pretty good promos, are they ready to pass along the championship belt to someone that may lack longevity? That being said, I think Batista gave one of the best promos that I have ever seen last night. While Randy Orton struggled to find his character and often mimicked the Rock?s old promos, Batista acts more like an ordinary person and less like a caricature. That simple line ?and two, you?re an asshole? summed up not only Batista?s feelings about Triple H, but mimed the sentiments of every wrestling fan in the world. Batista has incredible momentum and I really believe he will snag the belt from Triple H. That said, Batista has been given such a dominating push that it is going to be hard to figure out how to have him drop the belt in the future. A dominating run by Batista might end similarly to the Goldberg/taser debacle that occurred years ago in WCW. JBL vs. John Cena I have seen this exact feud before. Ted Debiase, the Million Dollar Man, vs. Hulk Hogan. Shoot, JBL even has a ?Virgil? in Orlando Jordan. That being stated, I still find this feud to be entertaining as hell. A ton of internet fans talk about how John Cena is growing stale, but I still enjoy listening to him on the mic. Sure, he isn?t as cutting or snide as he was when he was the heel, but his promos are a thousand times more entertaining than a Luther Reigns or Mark Jindrak match. My prediction is that JBL keeps the belt. I don?t think that John Cena will gain anymore popularity by taking the title at Mania and right now JBL is a fantastic heel champion. I say perpetuate the feud until Summer Slam. Trish vs. Christy Trish is going to win this one after Matt Hardy runs to the ring and plants Christy Hemme for stealing his signature finisher. Shawn Michaels vs. Kurt Angle I am pulling for the Olympic champ in this one, for no other reason than I am a huge Angle fan. This could be a great match. Randy Orton vs. Undertaker Taker is going to continue his Mania streak by planting the legend killer with a tombstone pile driver on either the steps or the entrance way. Orton needs surgery and this would explain his absence. On top of that, it would be a horrible move for the WWE to strip Undertaker of his Wrestle Mania record. Ladder Match The presence of Kane ruins this match for me. I agree that Edge will take this match, however Shelton Benjamin will steal the show. His wrestling as of late has been amazing. I really think the WWE is not using him correctly. Mysterio vs. Guerrerro I think Mysterio is going to steal this win sending Eddie off of the deep end. I think this will mark the beginning of a great 2005 feud between the two. Paul London vs. Chavo Guerrerro This match should be on the card. Not only should it be on the card it should last at least fifteen minutes. Paul London is one of the most talented wrestlers that the WWE has and he is so underutilized because of his size.
JC Goodwin
Ok well after my long absence from OB, JC is back to give his two cents on WM. Triple H vs Batista. As it has already been pointed out, Batista is in Randy Orton's spot and so far alot of people have praised Batista but I must disagree. What I think with batista is that the majority of wrestling fans wish to see Triple H lose the belt (with me included) and Batista is in that spot to lift it but think about beyond Mania and Batista as champion. Even thought Batista has improved greatly over the last year he is still very clumsy and stiff in the ring. Yes his mike skills are better but he is still pretty generic, he doesn't add that emotion to his promo's like Chris Jericho or Shawn Michaels does. What im saying is that Batista doesn't deserve the spot he is in. I think he is over because we all want trips to lose the belt and because Batist is there people are rallying behind him because he is the only person there in that spot. If he does win the title at Mania I believe he will fail as Champion because he will not have alot to do! But then on to Triple H. I am fed up of the belt around his waist. It just so lucky happens to be that he is married to the bosses daughter so he gets the belt but in the ring he is far superiorer to Batista. With all the politics swept away, Trips is one of the best Heels the industry has ever seen. Now as I don't like ethier man I would rather see Trips keep the belt and lose to the winner of the ladder match later in the year. So my winner is Triple H. JBL vs John Cena. i have to say it has to be JBL all the way. Don't get me Im not a fan of JBL but he has really come though with his gimmick and promos are good but he is not Champ material but then compared to Cena he is far greater. Cena should be kept away from the title. His ring work is very boring and he hasn't improved a great deal and his mic skills have gone down since he has had them written for him. In the beggining his promos were very original and creative but when the became written by othwer i found them to be so childish with the raps consiting of people being gay and constipated in it! I think another year with Cena being put in the ring with better wrestlers like Eddie, Booker and Taker. This is because Cena has mostly gone agaisn't people like Kenzo, Dupree and OJ who can't really teach him alot of things about wrestling and prefoming in the ring because they are less experinced than him. So I have to say I want JB but due to his current push, I have to say Cena will win the belt! Angle vs HBK. This match should be a classic. No questions asked. But I only hope that Angle's neck can hold up becuase it might be a hinderance and slow his general prefomance down but if everything goes to plan this match should steal the show! But I do see HBK coming out on top even thought it is a tuff call. Orton vs Taker. This match should be good as Orton is a good wrestler regardless of his push and taker always gives a good solid prefomance. Also this match will lead for Orton coming to Smack Down as Orton will lose at Mania. He won't beat taker so Orton will come to SD so he can beat taker eventually. This is going to be a big fued. So my winner is Taker and the winning streak goes on. 6 man ladder match. This match will be great. It has got 6 great workers in it. Now personally I would love to Christian win it and go on his mega push to the main event he so sorely derserves but I think that Edge will win it as Edge is just outside the World Title spot and having him win the Lader match will put him in the spot to win the belt. So my winner is Edge! Eddie vs Rey. This match will be great, given that they have enough time to get started. Eddie and Rey have a great chemistry together and always tear the house down. They have had great match and proable their greatest match was back in WCW in the 1997 Hallloween Havoc match which was match of the year! I see Rey winning which will spark Eddie's long awaited heel turn! So my winner is Rey Rey! Vannila whore....er.... I mean Christy vs Trish. This match will be pretty straight foward women match with trish winning. What would WWE gain by Christy winning the belt? Nothing is the answer so my winner is Trish! And to the biggest waste of space on the card. Big Show vs Akebono. This match has no perpose nad is a waste of time and I could cae less about it so i won't name a winner! Overall the card has some pretty good matches and two superb matchs and then a few which will be boring but generally I good show is expected! Come on it its WRESTLE MANIA
Amorphous
Triple H vs Batista This match is actually hard to call, you'd think with all the momentum that Batista has achieved that they'd let him win the belt at least for a little while if nothing else. Honestly in truth though I'd rather see Triple H win this match just because he seems like a more suitable choice to hold the belt, I mean look at what happened when Randy Orton held it? He lost it not soon after and it ended back up in Triple H's hands. Either way it's a tough call. I foresee Triple H winning. John Cena vs JBL This is simple, I want JBL to win, I hate him, but he is a damn good wrestler, but I could easily see John Cena taking the belt from JBL, which wouldn't be bad in retrospect but I don't know. I don?t think he should win, this feud could go on for a lot longer. HBK vs Kurt Angle Obviously, best match of the night as far as I'm concerned. Who will win? I have no idea, who I want to win is HBK but I wouldn't mind either winning. Both are amazing wrestlers. Undertaker Vs Randy Orton I'm betting Undertaker will win this and he should, I don't think Randy Orton really should be the one to end the Undertaker's streak at Wrestlemania if he was going to have his streak ended. He should keep his spotless record. Money in the Bank Ladder Match I have two predictions for this one. I know it's kind of odd, but I see Y2J winning this one or Kane. Firstly, Y2J mentioned some ways back that he would soon be waiting in the side lines to take away the World Heavyweight Title from whoever was in reign at that time. It was quite sometime ago but it makes me wonder quite a bit, he might actually win this. Kane could win this as well, I wouldn't mind seeing Kane hold the title for awhile, and if Batista wins they could start a feud between those two, it would be pretty cool to watch that feud. Eddie vs Rey I don?t know who would win this and I don?t care all that much, I?ll just enjoy watching it. Christy vs Trish. Trish wins, that it?s, if she looses I?d be enraged, and that?s sad that I even care about the Womens division this much. Big Show vs Akebono Akebono should win and this is a waist of space. Stone Cold vs Roddy Piper Stone Cold Stunner, Stone Cold wins.
Japan
I only recently got into wrestling, and I love it a lot. I find it very humorous. World Heavyweight Championship: Batista vs. Triple H I think that Batista might win this one....from what I'm told...and what I have seen on RAW, I have no doubts. WWE Championship: John Cena vs. JBL I hope that John Cena wins....mainly because I loathe JBL. John Cena is also pretty cool as well. I really enjoyed seeing him wrestle live. Women's Championship: Christy vs. Trish I don't know them, nor do I care. Whenever there are girls wrestling, I change the channel. I start watching the show as soon as they are done. Shawn Michael vs. Kurt Angle I definitely think that this is the fight of the night as well. Kurt will win, that's for sure. Randy Orton vs. The Undertaker I know nothing about Orton, but I hope that The Undertaker wins. He's pretty cool, and I love his entrances. Eddie Guerrero vs. Rey Mysterio Eddie all the way!
Heaven's Cloud
So Mania just ended, here are my thoughts on the matches. I decided to grade everything on a one to five star scale, one being boring as hell and five being totally kick ***. I also thought I?d throw everything in spoilers just in case you don?t want to know the results quite yet.
Rey Mysterio Jr. defeated Eddie Guerrero I think that something occurred at the beginning of this match that threw both competitors off of their game. I am not sure if Rey hurt his head on Eddie?s first arm drag take down or his new mask was bothering him and was distracting. Either way, the match seemed to slow down almost instantly. While Eddie wrestled as the ?heel? in the ring, at the end of the match both competitors shook hands and walked away. It was kind of a let down, I was hoping Eddie would get all fired up and turn into a bad guy. Anyway, the crisp, quick wrestling that both Rey and Eddie are known for just wasn?t there tonight, which made for a disappointing display. Not bad by any means, just disappointing. I?d give it two and a half stars. Money in the Bag Ladder Match: winner Edge I had high hopes for this match and it delivered. The standout wrestler in this match? Shelton Benjamin. The guy was incredible and he had so many nice spots it was unbelievable: a running plancha over the top rope, a t-bone suplex on Edge off of the top of a ladder, and this incredibly sick flying clothesline while running up a ladder that was leaning at a forty five degree angle on another ladder (kinda hard to explain I guess). Another honorable mention goes to Benoit, who hit his diving head-butt off of the top of a ladder despite having a stitched up brow. The involvement of Kane was also much better than I expected, he added a nice dimension to the mix and even had a high spot of his own. This match definitely earned four stars. Eugene, Hassan, Hogan altercation This was a nice bonus for viewers, and I cheesed out like the Hogan mark I am when his music hit. It is odd how much better he looks without that black scruff behind his mustache. Undertaker defeated Randy Orton I thought this match was going to be a snoozer, sometimes it is nice to be wrong. Undertaker bumped for Orton, which is amazing. Both and guys went back and forth hitting some nice offense, and the match ended when Taker reversed out of a tombstone and hit a pile driver of his own. This was a solid three star match with plenty of action but nothing to really grab you and make you chant ?holy shitoli?. Trish defeated Christ Hemme Meh, it wasn?t bad for what it was, a blatant eye candy fest. I am still upset that Hardy didn?t come in and plow down Christy, but I got to stare at Trish for a while. That?s always fun. I?ll give it one and a half stars, which is more than fair. Kurt Angle defeated Shawn Michaels Yeah, best match of the night. It started out with HBK taking Angle to the mat with several submission moves. Odd I know, and so did JR and King, because they mentioned it every five seconds. Anyway, there were a lot of quick exchanges and reversals before the match progressed into WWE?s main event style. Then it was high spots and hard shots galore when both men pulled out all the stops. It was a great match with Angle scoring a clean victory using the ankle lock. This match earned all five stars just because the two wrestlers could not have had a better match at this point in their careers. Piper?s Pit with Austin and Carlito Boooorrrrrriiiingggg Akebono defeated Big Show in a sumo match Double boring. This match was so pointless I will award it zero stars and wait for an apology from the WWE to arrive in the mail. Cena defeated JBL I was hoping that John Cena would have a breakthrough performance tonight and solidify himself as not only a great entertainer, but a great wrestler. Unfortunately it didn?t happen. Cena sold for JBL the entire match and then, within a two-minute time frame, he hit his spots and won the gold. I also have no idea why he bit the title when he won? Did he think the gold was fake? Anyway, this was a two and a half star match, not bad, but not what it could have been. Batista defeated Triple H Five minutes into the match I began to think Triple H would retain his belt. He was taking such a horrible beating that I figured some type of swerve would have to occur. Although the wrestling wasn?t spectacular, it was a fun match to watch and I though that having a slightly offbeat layout made it more interesting than it should have been. I?ll give it three and a half stars because it was the third best match on the card and much more enjoyable then I anticipated.
Final thoughts: It sucks that Paul London didn?t get his chance to shine, maybe next year. I also heard that there was a thirty-man rumble that wasn?t televised but will be on the DVD, which makes me glad that I went to a sports bar instead of shelling out fifty bucks for the ppv. It is kind of crappy that the WWE wants you to spend so much money on Wrestlemania and doesn?t even televise the full card.
Amorphous
Money in the Bag Ladder Match: winner Edge I had high hopes for this match and it delivered. The standout wrestler in this match? Shelton Benjamin. The guy was incredible and he had so many nice spots it was unbelievable: a running plancha over the top rope, a t-bone suplex on Edge off of the top of a ladder, and this incredibly sick flying clothesline while running up a ladder that was leaning at a forty five degree angle on another ladder (kinda hard to explain I guess).
Now that Wrestlemania is over, I have a good way to describe to everyone about Shelton Benajamin running up that ladder and clotheslining Y2J.
