sakurasuka
Welcome to OB, Rodeo Miyavi! It really depends on your style as an ARTIST as well, of witch we know nothing about. Also, you should keep in mind that some things may be easier for YOU to work with, personally. As for me, I work well with more modern outfits, and less special effects... I'm not good at doing power-beams, but I rock at drawing scerene backgrounds and such. A similar thought, I'm not quite as good at drawing young children and adult men like I am at drawing pre-teens, teenagers and women. I am also quite experienced at drawing chibi/goofy people, so I rather like more of a loose/funny plot than something serious, in my own style. As for what people in general like, people like a diversity of all things. Me? I like something a bit darker, but that may just be because I'm so used to the loose and cutesy, I may just be crying out for something more serious. *Shrugs* By the way, this thread is alot more meaningful than many threads posted in this area, so I think it's fine. Good luck with your manga! I wish you many more helpful posts than mine, seeing as I didn't exactly answer your question... _Sakura_ P.S. An added thought, make SURE you don't have a manga too similar to InuYasha. Nearly every new manga reminds people of Inu, so it probably won't be all to popular if you do. Another added note, I was gonna enter in that contest last time, but I missed the deadline...

You Don't Care
Wow, wait a minute! Tokyopop has a contest on where you have something to do with mangas!. What is this competition for and what website is it advertised on?
Go to www.tokyopop.com and there is info on getting your comic published by them. For either this way or through the contest, you have to give up A LOT of your rights to the company itself. It's one of the perks of getting to be world reknown. :shifty:
Kamuro
Welcome. And as said above, it depends on your drawing style. Personally I like a combination of the gothic fighting style anime and the cut and dry original anime. Its nice to have a little something for everyone when entering a competition. Usually I would say to do what you want and express your own ideas, but in a competition you have to think of yourself as well as other people and what they'll think. Koru-dono
I don't know what you're in to...but I'd like to see more horror manga! Maybe something that is'nt outrageously inapropriate that your folks won't let you buy it, if you know what I mean. You have to be talented to come up with a really well done horror manga. If you do one, try to come up with something out of the ordinary! ^w^
