The night was warm, and the sky was pretty. It was a full moon and the stars were out. Poona looked up into the serene sky as she laid on top of the edge of the fountain. There was a faint sound of flamenco performers in the distance. Poona closed her eyes as she took a deep breath of the fresh salty air.
Brrrrrrrrnnnnnnnnng! Brrrrrrrrrrnnnnnng! Her cell phone's rings abrupted her thoughts. She sat up and opened the phone and and answered. "Please come to my office." the man on the other line said calmly.
"Yes, Sir."
She folded her cell phone again and stood up. On the opposite side of the fountain, she finally noticed one of the flamenco dancers making out with a guy. She rolled her eyes as she walked closer to the other performers as they danced lifting their skirts every which way. The male spectators where whistling like crazy. Some of their female partners were getting very jealous, as they stomped on the feet or smacking their very excited guys' faces.
Poona brushed through the crowd with ease. When she finally made it across the Spanish courtyard, she opened a heavy oak door with many detailed and pretty carvings in it. She walked inside as the door closed behind her, killing any sound from the outside but it echoed a lot as she walked up the rickety old spiral metal staircase.
When she made it to the top, she came to yet another door. It was not as magnificent as the one she entered just before. It was a solid back color. She turned the handle slowly and walked through the now open doorway. The door closed behind her with quiet thud. Inside this new hallway was furnished with many paintings of famous Spainards, as well as some wooden tables holding various sculptures of famous people and animals. There was red carpet runner covering the dark wooden floor. She walked quickly to the door at the end of the hall. There was a stuffed deer's head on a plaque right above it.
She knocked on the door. A voice from the inside invited her in. Poona walked into the door and walked in. I'm here, Panther."
"Good, good, my child." Panther said. He was facing the window to where the performers were playing their instruments and were dancing. His hands were folded behind his back. He slowly turned around and faced her.
"What do you want?" Poona asked.
I sent four plane tickets to Seoul. Those four that I called today should be arriving tomorrow evening. I want you to be there to meet them. They will be at the La Agua Docks. Please await futher instructions by me when the time comes.
Sam had been working as a smith in a small town outside of his former kingdom of Iran. In his area of work he had been consulted several times by a mystery man named "Panther" looking for exquisite weapons ready for use. Sam made some of the best weapons around and was in need of money so agreed to Panther's request dispite his suspicion.
Panther never actually visited his shop. He sent letters, messengers, and other forms of communication without physically talking to Sam. His last request required Sam to deliver him weapons at his current location. A small quiet town near the one Sam was staying. Sam strapped his covered broadsword to his back. He had somewhat mummified his sword since he was unable to carry it in the open in most cities, but he never went anywhere without it. He also loaded himself down with a bag of several weapons Panther had requested and began his journey.
When Sam finally reached the town he entered the inn and sat down at the table panther had informed him too, he removed his broadsword and baggage from his back and sat down. He was soon accompanied by a shadowed figure wearing a robe that conceiled his face. Sam presented him with the weapons, no words were spoken. The figure slid him the money across the table and Sam placed it in his pocket.
Just when Sam arose from his seat to be on his way, the mysterious figure grabbed his arm, and spoke "Boy, I noticed that immense sword your carrying, looking for a fight are you?" Sam sat back down and shook his head "No, it was my father's and I take it wherever I go." Sam was quite confused as to why the mysterious figure had begun to speak with him, he couldn't see any of the figures facial expressions, and with nothing to read, Sam was clueless. "Can you even use the sword boy?" asked the figure. "Yes, very well indeed." answered Sam. The dark figure made a noise implying he was pondering something, and from his sleeve slid a ticket. Sam gave a puzzled look and the figure spoke "I have been looking for skilled fighters to assist me with certain "problems" I've been running into."
"I don't believe I understand, what are you saying" asked Sam. "Do not worry boy, all will be revealed in due time, but for now, I'd like you to take this ticket and fly to Barcelona, Spain where you will meet up with other fighters I have recruited for this mission." Sam's thinking was interrupted by "It pays well, very well indeed." Sam was intrigued by the mystery of the situation, and the money was enough to easily persuade him to become a part of the man's mission. "I accept." And the deal was done. The ticket switched hands and Sam began his trip to Spain.
Timothy gazed out of the window beside him, looking down at the clouds. He had always found that to be quite amusing. Always looking up at them, it's quite the same form a higher view. You would think it to be more majestic...
His sister kicked his chair from behind. He sighed wearily. He had had to fight her for this window seat, and had a bruise to show for it. When she began pouting, Kali kindly offered to let Bun have the window seat in their row.
He turned to Kendra, who had gladly decided to sit by him. He smiled at her and she smiled back, and he decided to engae her in conversation.
"Planes are pretty cool, don't you think? Someday I'm gonna' own tons of planes, fly wherever I want. But of course I'll continue to look after the bathhouse, because," he looked back at Bun,"lord knows she wouldn't be able to run it by herself." Another kick into his seat. He growled and turned around, hitting his sister over the head.
"Planes are quite nice. Can't say I enjoy them to much anymore...We only get to experience their granduer when carrying out missions for Panther." Kendra said, disrupting Tim's rampage on Bun. Kendra looked sad, and suddenly Tim felt like putting his arm around her. He quickly rethought that and decided he would try to cheer her up by acting like his regular self.
"Ah, well! As long as we get to take plane rides, I'm happy. Nothing like planes..." He sank into his seat and closed his eyes.
"I'm just glad that you're here..." He murmured under his breath. Kendra looked at him.
"I'm sorry, I didn't hear what you said. Could you repeat that?" Tim blushed.
"I didn't say anything! Can't...can't even try and sleep without being pestered..." He shut his eyes after that, still blushing slightly. Had his eyes been open, he'd have seen Kendra looking at him, blushing as well.
