Katana
A bell tolled from somewhere in the stone building. A low, ominous tone that echoed throughout all the corridors, indoor classrooms, and dormitories. Heads peeped out from doors as a figure seemed to glide across the smooth marble floors. ?It?s the Headmistress! The Headmistress is here!? Her lean figure was draped in a thin purple cloak that shimmered in what small light was emitted by candles and mosaic windows. A pure white tunic and breeches were underneath, a gold-tweed riding skirts framing her waist. Her skin, tan, her complexion, smooth, her face, indecipherable. She suddenly stopped, turning on her heel to face the students staring at her. They jerked their heads back at the sudden change of motion. ?What are you doing?? she hollered at them. ?FOLLOW!? And, with that, the day began. Cadeillina Nivera lay lazily in bed, watching the dust bubbles in her eyes float away and back. She had heard the bell, but didn?t quite feel like moving from that cozy bed. Her hands were tucked behind her head and feat were wrapped are the front of her waist. It would?ve taken the bell to be in the room itself for her to leap from that spot and hurry to the mess hall for breakfast Well, apparently another girl worked instead. Her flaming chestnut hair tied into a tight ponytail, Lyaeve, the one-most-likely-to-have-highest-honors-in-magic, popped her head into the room and yelled at Cade. ?GET UP! C?mon, the Headmistress is here!? To herself, she mumbled, ?Squirt.? It was only after she said those words did she remember the fact that the ?squirt? was an inch taller than she. Oh well, she was older. ?Screw you,? Cade replied bitterly. To prove she wasn?t following Lyaeve?s orders, she waited a minute before hopping out of the bed. All she had to do while standing was link on a few belts and off she went, Lyaeve following behind ? ten feet behind. The smell of meat, particularly bacon, wafted through the air as the two, still a huge distance apart, neared the mess hall. Soon, the clanking of forks against plates and goblets against tables was heard. The hall was already filled with students, but since the Guild was built with a bigger crowd in mind, many tables still remained half-filled or empty. Just as the two sat down ? mind you, miles apart from each other ? the Headmistress stood up from her spot and clanked her glass. When that got no one?s attention, she launched a jet of fire into the air, nearly colliding with the stature of the found of the Guild. The hall went silent. Many held their utensils in mid-air. ?Ahem. So nice of you to grow silent without much force.? -------------------------------------- With the mess hall...imagine a bunch of small tables with a long one spanning the entire width of the room at front. Kinda like those hotels with free breakfasts. Or...not. >.>
Progressive
Xyluis sat at the table opposite Cade, yawned and made a big show of not being very impressed. Really he had nothing to be impressed about. He had been at the Guild for three month now and had seen it all. Lightning bolt's striking student out of nowhere, knives with threats attached thrown at people missing by inches he had seen it all. "Ya know," He said in a very audible whisper. "She should really get over herself, I mean, I've felt the limits of her magic already!" "Unless she's holding it all back, mabe you should get over yourself!!!" Cade snapped back nastily. "Ohhh looks like some-one's a big fan" "No I'm just not as stupid or as arrogant as you, you prick" :animeblus Xyluis' face fell, he obviously failed to make an impression... Well a good one. "ladies man strikes again," he whispered glumly to him self as he tried to ignore Cade, and pretend to listen intently on what the head mistress had to say.
Tasrai
Joel had sprung awake breathless when the bell rang throughout the school, it always seemed to linger in his room echoing off of the stone walls. This morning, like so many other mornings he was thankful for the bell. Managing always to wake him from his nightmares, to pull him back to conciousness just when they got really bad. Putting a hand to his hair he sighed, today was going to be another bad hairday...oh well. He kicked off his covers which seemed to have tangled themselves around him during the night, Joel got up. Grabbing the closest tunic he threw it over his head while he pulled up his breeches. Smoothing out the wrinkles he buckled his belt and bolted out the door not bothering to put on his sandles, he preferred going barefoot anyways. He noticed as he jogged down the corridor that he was the last one...again...hopefully if he ran faster he could make it before the headmistress started talking. Joel rounded the corner to the dining area and skidded to a stop just before the walkway. Too late... maybe I won't make too much of a scene. Quickly he surveyed the room for the closest empty seat, spotting one next to blonde haired kid Xyluis. Already he could feel the butterflies in his stomach as he walked into the room, why did he have to be so shy? He glanced at the headmistress just in time to catch her glare as she continued her speech. Thinking of nothing else to do he waved. Immediately giggles broke out across the room, as the headmistress' glare intensified. Joel turned away just in time to sidestep running into a table, but as he did so he tripped over and into the empty seat next to Xyluis, fortunately he managed to stop himself from toppling over it. Crawling into the seat Joel could feel his face burning from humiliation, Cade snickering from across the table didn't help. Sheepishly he smiled as he sank into the seat, wanting nothing else but to melt away. Eventually the giggles died down and Joel felt it was safe to move from his slumped position in his seat, glancing around he gave one more sheepish smile as he forked a peice of toast onto his plate. What a perfect way to start of a morning. he said to himself. So much for not making a scene...
Seibzeihn
Kojiroh had been up for several hours already, studying his spellbooks in the silence of his room as dawn broke over the horizon. His ears catching the sound of footsteps, the young student waited for them to pass before poking his head out the door and catching a glimpse of the Headmistress. Closing his book, Kojiroh followed her at a safe distance, in the direction of the mess hall. His blue hair caught a slight breeze, sweeping it across his face as the morning sun warmed him to his bones. Another morning, another day of training. Choosing a seat apart from the rest, near the entrance / exit he had entered from, Kojiroh sat silently during the Headmistress's speech. Glancing at the food on his plate, he ate absently, keeping his eyes on the Headmistress as she spoke. Out of respect, of course -- Kojiroh wished that it was afternoon already so he could pick up his training where he left off. But some things needed to be done, and this was one of them. Plus, training on an empty stomach would do little good. Most of the other students paid Kojiroh little attention, if not simply because he was hard to spot, being the student seated closest to the door.

Citrus
Allison sat by herself, she didn?t want to talk to anyone or see anyone. That was her policy. She took out a pair of chopsticks and started to pick at her omelet and ate it piece by piece. She was probably was the one closest to the door, or maybe not. There seemed to be a boy similar to her also sitting near the door. She glanced over at him quickly and then back at her plate and started to pick at her food again. Allison wasn?t very hungry at the minute; she was more focused on the person staring at her or the person behind her. He looked gothic, the only thing different between them. Allison was more mean and rude than gothic. Allison finished her meal and went to throw the crumbs away in the trash, which was closest to the door. She walked over to the boy sitting next to the door. ?Hey what the hell is your problem looking at me like that?? The boy looked up at her with one of his brows arched. ?Don?t play stupid with me?cause I will?? Allison pursed her lips and sat down opposite of the boy. ?You?re a tough one to crack, eh?? The boy did nothing but look up from his book and star into her eyes. ?Stop it!? she said as she closed her eyes and opened them. The boy seemed to chuckle and go back to his book. Was this the first person Allison didn?t scare? She shook the thought out of her head and continued to watch him read his book. The headmistress finally stopped talking by the time the first melodic bell rang for the first class. Everyone raised and so did the teachers sitting at the front. ?Let the first day be a wonderful and magical day!? the headmistress said opening her arms as if it were a big present. Allison sighed and went off to her first class, magic.
Aiyanna
Lyaeve sighed as she sat down, and glanced over the dining hall at all the students assembled there. She didn't know over half the faces, and only a few stood out as vaguely familiar. She had seen it all too many times to take much interest in the doings of the students. After all, she had been here longer than any of them, and had seen dozens come and go. Her eyes did stop and rest for a few moments on Cade, and she scowled. Cade was not one of the people that she would normally hang out with, and was one of the few that could stir great annoyance in Lyaeve. Then of course, Lyaeve moved her eyes to the headmistress who was attempting to catch the attention of the students. She had to resort to fire...again. It always happened like that. And then she began to speak, a speech Lyaeve had heard many many times. The headmistress never altered her speeches. They were always the same. And as always, there were the select students placed about the hall who found themselves too important to listen. Cade was apparently one of these today, along with another guy who she didn't know. That guy had a...smug look on his face, but it quickly faded away into an expression of glumness as Cade said something that he apparently didn't like. And then, during about the middle of the speech, another young man entered, apparently late. He looked about and met the Headmistress's eyes with a slight flush, and of all things, he waved. That caused giggles. Lyaeve just watched in slight interest as he made is way to a table and seemingly fell into his seat. "Poor fellow," Lyaeve murmurred. She thought she remembered his name being Joel. And she remembered he was shy. "What a way to start a day..." She shook her head and then turned her attention from him. She noticed another girl talking to two older boys, who looked quite similar to her. Siblings, she guessed. "...enjoy your breakfast, you have a long day ahead!" The headmistress finished, and sat down. It took only a few moments for the students to turn to each other and start chattering again. Lyaeve sat alone at her table, so she had nobody to chat with. Actually, so far, she hadn't made any real friends in this years class. It was kinda lonely, but ah well...she could deal with it. She sent one last glare over at Cade, who stuck out her tongue and pulled down the skin under one eye. Then she stood up and made to leave the hall, without even touching any of the food that had been available to her. She never at breakfast anyways. ********* Making her way through the broad stone hallways, Lyaeve let random thoughts waft over her as she meandered towards the outside courtyards. Her first class didn't begin for another half hour at least...so she had a little while to wander. She contemplated practicing her magic. There had been a particular Transformation spell that she had been wanting to try, but she dismissed the thought. She had never really had any accidents with her magic, but trying to turn herself into something else was probably not the time to start. So she just fiddled with a stray strand of lavender magic as she walked into the bright sunlight of the outside. She squinted her eyes against the light and made her way over to a stone bench that was set infront of a small fountain. It was really quite outside, and apparently, she was the only one there. It was almost sad, with no one else to talk to, and she suddenly felt an overwhelming surge of loneliness.
Katana
*is seen silently laughing in a corner* ---------------------------------------- The speech was long and tiring. Finally, she finished, much to the delight of numerous students. Cade never really did care about the speeches; all one had to do was stare at the Headmistress, nod every now and then, but really think about something else. Like killing a straw dummy. Or butterflies. Or walking on walls. Or something off topic. Students stood up, and Cade followed. The "prick" that had sat across from her remained silent and fallen. Truth be told, she didn't mean to be that rude to the guy but, well, that was her anit-socialism kicking in. Very hard too. She wandered the hallways, knowing her first class wasn't for at least thirty minutes, and outside to boot. Magic, actually. Cade was pumped, she really really wanted to show up some classmate today. Seeing as how she was already pissed at Lyaeve, she would be today's target. The sun was blinding and would've killed one that wasn't ready for it. Cade was still wandering, her feet taking her aimlessly...nowhere. She entertained herself mildly by moving her arms, hands, and fingers, observing the shadows the various positions created. Very handy they would become for drawing. Then, an all-to-familiar voice shattered her happy place. "Why are you following me?" Lyaeve snapped. Cade froze and growled to herself. She pivoted on her right foot to face her. "HA! Why in the name of hell would I be following YOU? You, you..." Okay, she was now all out of words, and she had already used prick today. "...suck-up!" Lyaeve was taken aback - not by insult, but by how corny the word choice had been. "Suck-up?" She laughed. "Could you not come up with anything more insulting?" "Can't. Already used prick today. Not too much fun using the same name twice." Cade paused. "Bitch wouldn't be suiting to you, or jackass, or anything like that." The "suck-up" cocked an eyebrow, but remained silent. A series of chimes suddenly broke the silence. Both Cade and Lyaeve turned their heads in the direction of the sound. The head mage was now calling the class to gather and begin.
Aiyanna
Lyaeve smoothed her glare away and turned in the direction of class. By the small spark of green flames hovering above the trees in the distance, it was to take place in the forest. Somewhere. That brightened her. The forest always made her happy, what with all the nature and the plain beauty of what the world had created. "Time to go." she stated simply and started walking. "I think I could tell that." Cade retorted behind her, and then fell silent. A few other students were now filing out behind them, heading in the same direction for the same class. "I wonder what we are going to study today. Maybe something I haven't read yet?" Lyaeve stated absently. Cade snorted. "You've read about a year ahead. I think it isn't going to be anything new. Probably something easy..." Lyaeve looked back to see Cade walking with her hands behind her head. Cade gazed back at her and for a moment, it seemed their 'rivalry' had been put on hold. Lyaeve smiled a little, then turned back ahead, running her hand across the bark of a tree to one side as she entered the forest. The great trees towered ahead of her, and she always felt an amount of security and peace while walking among these gentle giants.

Jode groaned and looked at the floor. "whats up man?" joel asked. Jode remained silent and kept walking. They ran to the edge of a clearing in the forest and the rest of the class was already there waiting to begin. The three of them walked in all as one and sat down at the benches inside a rather small circle. "Good... We are all here," Boomed the mage with a smile. He lifted his hands and the entire class lifted in to the air and taken to a giant training centre, in mid air. "I dont believe it," Xyluis muttered. The Training centre was made of white and gray marble. "Come along please said the mage." He lead them all into a room. "Oh my god" said Joel. Sir Gawain
Cairn sat down beside to older boys who seemed to disapprove of his presence. Neither of them knew, or really cared, who this hooded stranger was, though they had seen him privately practicing his archery by the woods. For the first few minutes they ate in silence. Then a younger girl walked up beside them and stood quietly beside Cairn. He looked quietly around the table and saw a few other empty chairs, but she didn't take any of them. He was about to ask her to sit down when the boy on his right spoke rashly at him. "Move out of our sister's seat." All he could do was raise an unseen eyebrow beneath his hood. Then he stood up saying, "Of course. Excuse me miss." And with that he left, disposing of his tray just as the Headmistress quieted the room with a firebolt. 'So much for a good breakfast,' he thought as he started for the archery field.
Tasrai
OOC: Ummm, I think people should read each other's post clearly...already there have been misunderstandings. :animeswea or maybe it is just me... but I thought that Cade, Lyaeve, Allison, and Geneive (without her brothers) were going to magic while Joel, Jode, Xyluis, and I'm guessing Cairn are going to archery...just thought I'd point this out for future references. If I've offended I'm sorry :animeswea the last thing I want to do is make an enemy in this RPG. :animeshy: :animesmil I'll make it so that the archery and magic class happen to be meeting at the same practice feild or something, how's that? *********************************************** Joel couldn't wait to get to archery. He loved the peace and clearheadiness that came with it, for him anyway...He couldn't say the same for Jode who was grumbling under his breath. The mage and archery instructor led the two classes into an expansive room made of marble on the wall were various murals of battle scenes. The room had no ceiling of any kind but was open to the sky, even though Joel had almost no magic talent whatsoever he could tell that this was a room of great magic. There were five pillars around the edge of the room close to the walls, on these their was various magic symbols engraved onto them.Joel could do nothing but stare and feel awed by the beauty and power that this room represented. "Oh my god" said Cade as she came in behind Joel. "This is archery with a twist." Joel silently agreed with her. The instructors obviously had something up their sleeves for them to bring them here, or maybe it was nothing. You can never tell with them...Joel eyed the instructor's backs suspiciously. "Come along then." The mage said as he walked, robes sweeping, toward the center of the room where a circle of chairs were set up waiting for them. Soon everyone in the two classes scurried to take their seats not wanting to be the last one to sit down. Joel not wanting a repeat of this morning quickly grabbed a seat and stayed there, not caring who was sitting next to him, so long as he got one. Xyluis and Jode managed to get the chairs next to him. "So what do you think is going on?" Jode whispered to Xyluis and Joel, a hint of excitement could be heard in his voice. Joel shrugged, but obviously Xyluis had been thinking about it. "Maybe they are going to combine our classes or something." He paused to glance at the intructors. "You know like have us go against each other in a mock battle or maybe it's a test of some sort." "Or maybe..." Joel interupted Xyluis, before he got carried away. "Maybe it is a history lesson." Jode gasped in horror while Xyluis blanched at the thought. "I was just kidding." Joel said in response to their unexpected reactions. "I know, so were we." Jode said as he stuck out his tongue, and Xyluis chuckled. Joel couldn't help but smile also.
Seibzeihn
Kojiroh took his leave before the other students were done with breakfast, as usual. He walked the halls of the Guild alone, letting his mind wander absently. Letting his feet guide him where they willed, the blue-haired youth strolled down the stone corridor and out into the sunlight. Turning a corner, he noticed a young woman sitting alone before one of the Guild's fountains. Hesitating for a moment, Kojiroh made a wide circle around the area so as not to disturb the girl. Taking a roundabout route to his next class, magic, Kojiroh whistled an ancient tune softly to himself. Noticing a green flame hovering above the trees nearby, he picked up his pace a little. Passing in between the massive trunks of the forest, Kojiroh breathed in the scent of nature and steeled himself for the lesson to come. Arriving in the glade, Kojiroh noticed the presence of a few other students he hadn't noticed before in his magic class. Following the mass of students towards the class, Kojiroh wondered to himself, What's going on...?
Who Am I?
OOC: Uhh...I was suppose to post this before but my computer did something weird and froze or something so please excuse my lateness (if that is even a word). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Wow, so many people, Geneive thought as she entered the room. Geneive took a seat that was close to the door and began to doodle in her notebook. A couple minutes later, people were starting to do a magic fight since it got boring because the teacher wasn't here yet. Geneive had to duck every now and then. So she got tired of it and took a spell from the book and made a barrier. Soon the teacher came walking through the door and gave everyone detention for doing a magic fight (even to the ones that didn't do anything). Everyone grumbled and the lesson began. The teacher did a wonderful performance. He did different magic spells and Geneive took notes. He did extraordinary things that amazed the class. Geneive's brother was right when he said it was fun. Geneive saw something that caught her eye. She saw a paper being passed around. A girl got it and opened it, she had an angry face when she read it and then she scribbled something back and gave it back. Geneive was pretty amused but didn't say anything. Well Geneive still was watching the teacher perform and still amused at what the teacher did but saw that some students were getting bored. Well I guess some people don't like it but I do, Geneive thought.
Citrus
Allison sat on the ground as everyone fooled around waiting for the teacher. This was the class Allison most hated, she didn?t even get to use weapons in this class. It just made her furious. The teacher came and gave out detentions to who ever was having a ?magic fight? when she had came. Everyone took a seat outside and watched and listened to the teacher go on and on about magic and how powerful it can be. Allison decided not to take any noted because she though it was useless when she can remember everything. Allison leaned over to Kojiroh and said, ?What is the point of this?? Kojiroh looked up at her and glared at Allison through his hair covering his eyes. ?Magic is the art of someone?s soul and mind combined together to make a spell and that spell could be the source if an ultimate magic. That is what we are here to learn.? He turned his gaze back to the teacher. ?Sheesh didn?t need a Dr. Phil session.? Allison laughed to herself.
Rhym
OOC: Whatever happened to archery with a twist? Well, I'll see what I can do. The magic professor finished his demonstration, leaving many agape. The archery professor then stepped in. "That'll be pretty hard to top," he said, to scattered laughter. "Well, anyway, the exercise we have planned for you is this: we will give you archery targets to shoot. However, they can only be hit by enchanted arrows." As he spoke, glowing targets floated gently down into position at the far end of the training center. "You may go about this however you like, but you aren't allowed to accept enchanted arrows from anyone else." With that, the instructor swept a glare across the assembled archers, seeming to linger purposefully on Jode, aware of his dismal archery skills. "When you succeed in hitting a target, you are dismissed for the period." There was a small cheer that accompanied that item of news. "Now, get to it." -------- When Jode recieved his bow, he immediately set to work. Witchcraft took a long time. He set it in front of him with an arrow nocked, pointing at the targets, which were now shifting in erratic patterns. He rummaged through his sack, looking for things that might be useful. The items he inevitably selected were some candles, a stick of chalk, a small dagger, a vial of oil, and a pouch of very fine sand. He also selected a bay leaf, which he chewed to stay alert. He placed the candles in strategic points around the bow and connected them with intricate chalk designs. Next, he carved notches in the bow with the dagger. After that, he rubbed the oil into the notches and on the arrowhead. Then, he cut his right palm with the tip of the arrow and let his blood mingle with the oil. He then sprinkled some sand over the tip and concentrated, transferring power from himself to the arrow. His aura was blazing all around him now, and crackling between his outstretched, bleeding hand and the arrow. Finished, he stood, feeling slightly drained. He drew back on the arrow, which was now blazing with his fiery aura. He let it fly. Halfway between him and the targets, it split into an uncountable number of flaming shards, which struck all of the shifting targets, dead center, leaving some burning. "Good job, Jode," said the instructor, approaching him. "Thank you, sir," said a satisfied Jode. "However, it's a bit inconvenient." "How so?" he asked, suddenly downcast. "Well, it takes a lot of preparation. It's not something that could be just whipped up on the spot." Jode remained silent, hopes of getting out lecture-free crushed. The instructor seemed to sense this, however, and showed the agonizing Jode mercy. "Well, under the circumstances, you did admirably. Certainly better than you normally do. Well, anyway, the rest of the period is yours. Have fun!" Jode left the training center, but waited at the exit, partly because his friends were still in there, but partly because the training center was quite aways off the ground, and he had no levitation spells.
Seibzeihn
Kojiroh laughed. "I take it you emphasize in direct weaponry, then. Make no mistake, I prefer the blade of a sword to the burst of magic -- but respecting both will help you in keeping your guard up against such things." Noticing that Allison was not taking notes, Kojiroh didn't feel as bad about not writing down the teacher's lecture himself. He could usually pick up the most important points of the speech without needing to write anything down. As the archery teacher stepped forward and gave the assignment for the day, Kojiroh could feel an inkling of doubt beginning to worm its way into his head. Archery had never been his strong point, but he knew his way around enchantments and would try his best. Rising from his seat, he nodded at Allison and took his place alongside the rest of the students. Picking out a single, floating target from among the rest, Kojiroh set out one of the arrows from his quiver. Tapping his magical energy, an aura of light blue sprang up around Kojiroh's body as he began to sketch runes in the air with his hands. Runological magic had always been Kojiroh's strength -- finishing the rune he was scripting, the arrow began to glow a faint blue. Nocking it to his bow, Kojiroh sighted along the shaft and let fly. Missing the target by centimeters, the arrow continued on to pierce a portion of the wall behind, encasing a small portion of it with ice. Grimacing to himself, Kojiroh scripted another rune, more carefully this time. He added a small symbol of wind magic, so that the arrow might fly more straight, and nocked it on his bow once more. This arrow pierced the target and froze it in midair, causing it to fall to the ground and shatter. The instructor, who happened to be passing by, gave Kojiroh his approval, frowning slightly at the portion of the opposite wall still frozen by the student's first arrow. It dissipated as Kojiroh quickly sketched a heat rune and the ice faded with the hiss of steam. "The rest of the day is yours. Good work, just try to hit your target the first time. Who knows how much time you'll have in the real world to prepare another shot." Kojiroh nodded and set his bow down, leaning easily against the wall. He would remain until a majority of the students left -- until then, he would watch and see how well the others fared.
Who Am I?
Oh boy archery, Geneive thought as the teacher gave the assignment to hit the target. Geneive liked archery and she was good at it. She took an arrow and bow. She pulled it back and carefully examined her position and target. It was aligned...and then she released it. It went pretty staright and....BULLSEYE! She hit it right in the center. "Whoopie..." Geneive muttered to herself. She got dismissed and she met up with her brothers. "Hey Geneive, how was magic?" one of her brother's asked (Brandon). "It was fun but we had a mix. With the archery class," she replied. "See I told you it was fun," Kale said giving you a shove. She gave him a shove back. Citrus
Allison was walking through the crowd of students as she bumped into a girl that was shoved into her by a larger boy. "Hey watch it bucko!" Allison said pushing Geneive to the floor and then bending over her. "Next time I won't be so generous and just push you down" Allison sneered as she unseathed her dagger a little and a glint of light shone off it. "That isn't very nice..." Geneive said as she got up and usted her self off. "What did you say?" Allison said as she unseathed her dagger all the way. Geneive was pulled back by one of her brothers and vanished into the crowd. Allison looked around and started to walk away. "That was second year melee student Allison..they say she is one of the best katana and dagger handeler!" some people whispered to each other as Allison leaned over to get a drink. She wiped away some drips and smiled.
Katana
"Brat," Cade muttered under her breath as Allison cooly took a drink of water. She leaned against a wall, waiting for the girl to finish her drink. Once Allison's head stooped up, she faced the freaky wrath of Cade. "WHAT'S YOUR PROBLEM?!?!" Cade yelled. Several people stared at her, and Allison went bug eyed at the sudden attack. "What are you talking about?" Allison shot, her composure quickly regained. Two of her fingers were idly twitching against a dagger sheath. Cade took a step forward, jabbing a finger at the dagger-obsessor. Man, what she wouldn't give for some small weapon at the moment. Then she would've looked more threatening. "You don't just knock somebody to their back just 'cause they bumped into you! This is a frickin' school; those things happen! And this hallway is always so flippin' crowded!" Cade snorted. "Best katana and dagger handeler, huh? My ass. You, as a swordsman, should know that politeness comes before pride." Allison yawned. "You done with your lecture yet?" Cade could've blown a gasket. "YOU SHOULD LISTEN YOU SELF-RIGHTEOUS BIT-" She was cut off by Lyaeve, whom had Cade's ear in a very tight pinch. "Hey now, don't wanna get expelled for foul language, do ya..." she said, a smug smile on her face. "WHAT THE HELL DO YOU WANT?! Can't you see I'm teaching the brat a lesson?" "What brat?" Cade slowly turned her head. Allison was gone. "Holy freakin' crap..." Pause. "IT'S YOUR FAULT!!!" she hollared at Lyaeve, who smiled and released Cade's ear.
Sir Gawain
Cairn was the last to leave archery class. Magic really wasn't his strongpoint. In the end, he used a carefully selected spell, raised his hood, and let the arrow fly. It sliced through the target and left a small hole through its center. Neither of his instructors were pleased, because he had used a potent speed spell, but were obliged to let him leave. As he walked to the library to find another spellbook, he saw Cade and Lyeave at each others throats again. He smiled and stood back watching the two argue. "Well if you hadn't come along and distracted me then I would have," Cade was yelling. "You would have been cut down without a weapon! You should be thanking me!" Lyeave retorted. Cade was on the breaking point, and Cairn thought that he should step in to make sure no one got, severly, wounded. "Now, now, ladies," he said as he stepped between the two. They glared at him, and he thought he heard one of them snarl. "I don't know what happened, but I'm pretty sure that you would've gotten yourself hurt without a weapon." Cade gave him such a look that most people watching the fight cowered before her. At least Lyeave was pleased that someone took her side. "If you don't think that I couldn't take you down right here and now, punk, then you're sorely mistaken!" Cade yelled at him. But as she stepped forward, Cairn reached for his sword on his back. She stopped. And for once, everyone could see his eyes. They knew that if Cade attacked for real, he would show no mercy. She walked off, cursing Allison, Lyeave, and Cairn for ruining her day so far.
Aiyanna
Lyaeve set a cool gaze on the boy in front of her with his hand half towards his sword. Fighting...useless. She thought she recognized him with the name Cairn, but she wasn't positive. That was something she was never good at. Names. Then she shrugged and turning back to her assigned task, she waved her hand in a quick almost complicated movement. There was a seconds pause as the wind seemed to pick up, and then her lavender aura suddenly flared around her. Another half-second pause before a violet bow formed out of it, looking like purple fire formed into the rough shape of a bow. She quickly took hold of it while three lavender arrows of magic formed themselves, and in a quick procession she took hold of the arrows and shot each of the, one right after the other. They all bunched around the middle target, right on the bullseye. And it had been done in less than a minute. She smiled slightly to herself as she let the bow disappear and ignored some of the astonished looks that a few other students gave her. And the mage. To her, it wasn't really a complicated sorcery, it just took alot of will power and alot of quick thinking. She wasn't supposed to have even known of a spell like that for another two years, and even some of the best mages couldn't do it that fast. Oh well...There was not even the slightest hint of gloating or bragging in her smile, just satisfaction at having completed her task. She would never be so arrogant as to gloat about her magic. It was just something she was really good at. The mage blinked, and then coughed. "Err...Well done Lyaeve. You may leave now." he twitched his hand at her and she turned, though out of the corner of her eye she saw him move over to her targed and start to inspect the three arrows there. They had turned solid, but still flared with a slight purple aura, and the shafts were engraved with tiny symbols. Those were an add on that she had put into the spell. Her name in the Old Tongue. She smiled again and made to leave the room, though they were still levitated up...she looked at the ground, and then sighed and sat. She could wait. OOC: Sorry, it's short. I'm getting yelled at.
Tasrai
Joel didn't know how he had gotten through that session, he thought he would be in there forever. Magic was his worst possible subject, well, real magic anyway, the kind you use when fighting. He was good at illusion magic, something that nearly all those good with real magic aren't or maybe they just don't care for it. You know the kind you give a show with, like making shapes out of smoke or pulling stuff out of thin air that was what Joel was good at...that and healing...well sort of. Joel sat on the floor staring at his arrow for a near fifteen to twenty minutes before giving up on trying anything like the others were doing. Finally, he figured out a way around the spell, hadn't the mage said that had to be an enchanted arrow nothing less and...nothing more. A thin smile played on Joel's face as he thought of something to do that the instructor's wouldn't forget and would make them have to give him a good grade. Thoughts raced through his head, until he picked the one he thought most successful. Standing up he looked around the room, there was only he, Reodin, who preferred to be called by his last name Cairn, and the two instructors left in the room. Not much of an audience, but...I'll give them a heck of a show. Joel thought to himself as he smiled at his own ingenuity. Looking at the mage and master archer, Joel bent for his arrow slowly and deliberately. The two teachers stopped talking and turned to watch Joel kiss the arrow before he nocked it to his bow. Already he was zoned out and oblivious to what was going on around him. There was only the arrow, the target, and him. If he had been paying attention, he would have noticed that the teachers had walked up behind him curious as to what he was going to do. Joel stared at the target just waiting for the feeling to come, to tell him that it was just right. Suddenly there it was! An invisible ripple went through his body from his head to his finger tips, who released the arrow. Closing his eyes, Joel watched in his mind's eye for the right moment, when the arrow was just about to hit the magical barrier around the target. Then it was there. Joel's eyes snapped open just in time to watch as his arrow turned into a squirrel, which let out a high pitched squeak before it smacked into the target. It's little body covering the bullseye. Even though it really was still an arrow it was enchanted to look like a squirrel. Joel was astonished that it had worked. He swung around to look at the instructor's faces behind him who seemed to be on the verge between shock and laughter. "Never. Have I seen such a thing." The Master Archer said outloud to himself staring at the squirrel which was still clinging to the target, looking similiar to something like road kill. The mage just smiled, shook his head, and pointed towards the doorway. He nearly fainted with relief when he got outside the doorway. Excitement of the triumph coarsed through his veins as he slumped down the wall all the way to the floor. Mage and Archery Master: zero, Joel: one. Too bad, Cairn hadn't of seen it he was too busy working on his spell. Oh well...I wonder where Xyluis and Jode have gotten to. He started to go looking for them when a voice rose irritably above his thoughts and called to his attention. Looking in its direction he saw that Cade was berating Allison for something she had done, apparently knocking someone down. Good ole' Cade defending the rights of others and questioning authority where ever she goes. Joel acknowledged to himself as he watched from the sidelines, at a distance he thought safe. But then Lyaeve stepped in and dragged Cade out, and now she (Cade) was ripping Lyaeve's throat out, or about to anyways... Joel deciding not to watch anymore for fear of getting caught up in the middle of it, sidled on past them against the wall. Freedom from the stuffy corridor was in sight, until some other students came out of their classroom blocking his escape. Curse them! All these bodies in close proximity were kind of triggering his claustrophobia. Not to mention bad memories...Flashbacks of the past filled his mind as he tried to find his way through the crowd. Memories of a small room filled with fellow orphans who had also been randomly picked to go to the administrator's office. A young Joel waited in terror, he knew what happened in that room, he knew the pain, and he heard the screams as the others before went in and were beaten. Suddenly a deep and booming voice called his name above the whimpering and crying. Joel wanted to escape but he was too scared to move, much less run?the voice called again, this time strangely higher pitched... ?Joel. Joel!? He snapped back into reality and was surprised to find himself sitting on the floor hugging his knees. He looked around blearily for his eyes had begun to water, from what he could tell nobody else had noticed. Quickly wiping his hand across his eyes he looked up to see Lyaeve?s concerned gaze peering at him questioningly. "Are you alright?" She asked. ?Wha- Oh yeah?I?m fine.? Joel said standing back up and grabbing his bow trying to act like nothing had happened. He couldn?t believe he had just had a break down in the middle of the hall. That was so unlike him, he could hold in everything. Looking at Lyaeve?s face he knew she didn?t buy that answer one bit. ?Ummm gotta? go. I?ll see you later!? Joel said as he ran through an opening between a group of students mingling in the corridor. Bursting through the door at the end of the hallway he ran toward the forest for its privacy, solace, and well...its shade. ******************************* Heh. This one was kind'a long....sorry :animeswea
Katana
Cade was still pissed, but what could she do? Besides try to track down Allison - which was rather pointless, seeing as how there were...were...uh, a lot of people at the Guild. It just wasn't worth the energy. A squirrel, half-dead, scuttled by. It made it to the corner before popping and clanking to the ground as an arrow. Cade raised an eyebrow, but Joel soon walked out of the classroom, looking satisfied with himself. Suddenly he broke down and crumpled to the floor. Lyaeve rushed to his aid while Cade made ((haha, that rhymes! XD)) her getaway. The building, although crammed with students, was full of empty places. The next class wasn't to start for at least half an hour...so there was time to kill. Cade quickly sauntered into an empty stretch of hallway. Upon coming to a door, she stuck her index finger into the lock, called upon some minimal magic, and popped the door open. On either side of the room were torches, lighting up the space. The light cast dark shadows on the various weapons and armor. Cade walked the way of the room, carefully observing the various war items perched on shelves or hung to walls. She was interested in finding a small blade, like...a dagger. Or a switchblade. Both sounded good...but then again, the switchblade was a tempting offer. The weapon was rather new to the land, and so far it had only found use as a protection device for ladies. They were more convient in the fact that you could hide one in a pocket, since the blade flicked back into the handle. "Aha, see, switchblades," Cade murmured, grinning and running her fingertips along the small rack of the blades. She was looking for something in particular...one with a silver butt, leather handle, and steel blade. It would look sheek. She finally found one like her mental image and pocketed the item before sliding across the floor and back out into the hallway. Cade returned to the hallway of the archery/magic class, half expecting to see Lyave hanging around the mage and pestering him for more advanced spellbooks. But she did not, finding instead just an empty hallway. Empty...kind of like her friend count.
