This is a very intriguing American anime-like animted series here online. It reminds me of Samurai Jack only more adult. That and it's about a young boy looking for who he is (ye know, cliche wandering samurai shiz). For a Flash animation, it's simply brilliant. The art is like a real cartoon, the music is beautifully composed (if there was a soundtrack for the score, I'd buy it), and the plot makes you eager to watch the rest.

There's currently twelve episodes with the thirteenth in the making. They get longer as they go along and if you have a slow connection you'll have to be patient loading each one (they aren't too large).

To watch this, CLICK HERE and enjoy. I know I have. I can't wait 'til episode thirteen.

WARNING: This animated series has swearing and lots of gore

This is pretty cool. The music is great (and the sound is stereo...nice).

The voices (in the first two episodes at least - I'm counting) are all provided by Australians, which is interesting...since you rarely hear Australian voice overs online. Ninjai's voice is particularly obvious to me, being Australian myself. Very weird...

And what's with the swearing from the guy in episode 2? Lame. It just isn't funny. The only remotely funny part is when Ninjai says "What a funny man." in a totally dry tone. But yeah...lol.

It's not that interesting in terms of story or anything though, at least, so far. But it's pretty for a Flash cartoon.

I love it! I think it's has pretty good art. The blood isn't to realistic but it is still good for a cartoon. I like the voices and the Austalian accents. especially the boys. It amkes him even more kawaii, lol.

I am eagerly waiting for the thirteenth episode, can't wait!

Well, James, you seem to be convincing people they're Australian and I'm damned to call you a liar myself. Aussie or not, they're still attempting chinese voices even if they are bad XD And I didn't mind the swearing guy and found it quite amusing since I actually know idiots like that in real life. Until you've experience a loud-mouth like him, you probably won'y appreciate the creator's input on that type of personality.

After having just sat and watched the entire series, I find that I like it quite a bit.

Ninjai does give off that Samurai Jack air when you see him, which automatically gets him high marks in my book.

Some of the other characters interest me as well, such as Sakuri (Takugawa's main henchman). The last episode has me interested behind
the origins of his weapon, heh.
My favorite character has to be Little Bird, though. He's so cute. ^^

Anyway, the difference between the first few cartoons and the latest ones in terms of animation flow and character design is a bit striking. It really does seem like its something that you would see on television, though in my opinion, it would be better if they did hand drawn backgrounds entirely like they did some of the scenes in Chapter...6, I think it was.

But, like I said, a very nice little web series. Thanks for sharing, DW.

I too like Sakuri because of his weapon and how it's like a tattoo at first and then a deadly... thingy majig after.
Though, from the last awesome episode (Twelve), one can only wonder some things on what prominent role Sakuri will play. He just lost his pet, so he's either going to be too depressed to give a crap about anything anymore, want some sweet revenge on Ninjai, or turn his back on his master. Can't wait, can't wait.
And you're quite welcome. I thought everyone should see the brilliance of this series. I only watched a few episodes of Samurai Jack and simply loved it for various reasons and those reasons were captured in Ninjai. Woot to your mama!

Squee for Ninjai. The little bird gets to me T_T so cute~

My fave so far is prolly episode 12 (I think?)
Bouncing between all the gore and violence and Ninjai and the little bird is pretty crazy.
Oh, they are definitely Australian. Especially Ninjai. Ask any Aussie on the boards to have a listen and they'll pick it a mile off. ^_^

As for the swearing guy...yeah, I know what they were trying to do. It's just not that funny - I mean, I personally don't think it's anything especially clever. I felt that Ninjai's reaction was more funny, personally. lol

The Chinese voice on Ninjai is very very faint. Like I mentioned to you on AIM, it sounds more like an Australian kid who is changing pronounciation on a few words here and there. In that sense it's a bit disappointing, but I'm guessing that American audiences probably won't know the difference (because the accents are not stereotypical Australian at all).

You're correct. I'm American and it seems just fine to me XD And if the person who makes Ninjai is American and had Aussies do the voices, he may think it sounds fine because he can't tell the difference either. Who knows.

Perhaps Ninjai's line for the swearing guy was the joke of the whole thing, hm? XD
