Heh...heh heh heh...

I just finally got some sleep after a week-long bout of sleeplessness. It wasn't just one night on the computer...it was more like days on end...with a constant nagging to get off the computer and go to sleep.

But I knew that if I layed down, I would end up tossing and turning until I couldn't stand it any longer and I'd get back up anyway...(I knew this because I'd been trying to go to sleep for days--my state of consciousness had nothing to do with the computer)

I've done that as well. My family is always begging for computer and since I moved the comp into my room they can't use it because I lock them out.

Don't you think that's a bit selfish? I mean, I stay up all night on the comp, but I wouldn't go as far as locking people out to enable myself to do so.

I actually loathe being up all night, and the only reason that I end up on the computer is that everyone else around here is asleep--ie: there's no one to speak with at 0500 unless I wake them up to do so...which, for the record, is not well received.

I've stayed up all night before, not all on the computer though.

I've also had people in my house telling me to get some sleep too, but that's part of the territory, of sleep being a normal, everybody-does-it thing.

Sometimes I just don't feel like everybody, lol.

I never sleep, which isn't good. I can't help it. I mean, what can I say, the internet is like crack! You constantly have to have a hit of it. But yeah, like I said, I never sleep. With college that can be a bit of a problem at times.

I have to admit that I've pulled all nighters before, although not on my PC, my Gamecube however is another story, as are my Star Wars and Star Trek collections. The only times I've pulled an all nighter with my Gamecube was when I first got the Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, I played it for about 16 hours straight from around 8 PM to about noon the following day.

I've watched the entire Indiana Jones trilogy, which is about 8 or 9 hours in total in one night, although I nearly fell asleep a few times in the less interesting parts of the films. Did the same with the Old Star Wars trilogy and often wondered how Luke felt about his kiss with Leia in Empire Strikes Back after he learned he was her brother in Return of the Jedi.

Still all nighters are something to be done only when necessary or when money is on the line.

Due to a recent bout of insomnia I have found myself up into the very early hours of the morning on the computer. I am very lucky since the only other person in my house is my husband and he knows that I suffer from occasional insomnia. I sleep when I get tired. If I try to go to bed when I am wide awake I just toss and turn. I don't want to disturb my husband's sleep when he has to get up early in the morning to go to work. So if I get out of bed and move to a different room to mill about it works out best for the both of us. He gets to rest and I get to stay up.

By nature I have always been a night owl, er, panda. I feel like I do my best writing and thinking at night so staying up all night on the computer isn't a bad thing for me.

Geez, yeah. I remember a year or two ago, when I first met DBD, more commonly known as... actually, I forget what he calls himself now. Well, I had just met him, and we got along great. I finishd all my work, and got on the computer at 8. We talked so long, when we finally looked up, it was five in the morning. Exactly. So we both decided it might be time to get off and go to bed. After that, i stared at the computer screen in disbelief for a half an hour until he PMed me back saying he was serious and I should get to sleep. xD

i can relate to the whole insomnia thing. it hasn't been as bad recently because i've been so busy w/ school and everything else that i'm so exhuasted when i go 2 bed every night @ 1:00am that i have no problem sleeping. it's usually when i actually have free time that the insomnia kicks in and i just stay up watching a movie, reading, or being online for no reason until suddenly it's 3:00 am and you figure you should prolly get some sleep. . .i dunno it's really weird. i feel kinda like i'm nocturnal sometimes- and it doesn't help that i loathe getting up.

I did the same thing when I got The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, I didn't plan on it but I got so caught up in the game that when I looked at the clock again it was almost 5am. I had started playing around 7pm so I felt kind of stupid.

I've had a few all nighters on the computer, but since I live alone my dog has never complained about it. :animesmil I have arthritis, so usually my all nighters are a result of a flare up which keeps me from sleeping.

Sounds like we have a lot of insomniac's here!
Yes I am another one.

My insomnia is caused by two things - one no one knows why and the other is if I'm worrying about something.

When I'm up worrying I often use the computer. I've banned myself from going online though because I tend to just google things to do with the worry - and find more things to worry about!

I've found playing The Sims is the best cure for anxiety - you're so focused on making those people have good jobs and friends - and getting angry that they can't - that there is not much room to think of anything else!

Haha wise words from Baron.

Anyways yeah I've pulled all nighters. I remember one time I spent the night with my best riend (god this was when I was in 6th grade, we played Tony Hawk Pro Skater all night long, and when we got sick with that we pulled out our Tech Decks and rode our little finger skateboards untill I looked up at the window and said "Dude...its light outside." I can't count how many all nighters him and I piled together, too bad he moved :-/.

Lately I don't do it as much, I'm so busy with either debate or baseball that I really don't have anytime where I can just be like "Screw it I have nothing to do," so I dunno all nighters are becoming more and more rare. Although I do it still occasionally. For instance I just borrowed a PS2 from a friend 2 weeks ago, definatly pulled an all nighter playing Final fantasy X ...first time playing it. What can I say final fantasies are like crack to me ^.^

The best was when I'd call britty (not sure what her name on here is now) at like 2am my time and stay up till 5 or 6 am talking to that silly canadian. Those had to have been my best all nighters, I miss that gal. Granted that piled up to be a 900 dollar phone bill ^.^;;;

Yeah ouch....

Heh. All nighters? No, not really.

But I have stayed up until 4:45am on the computer just talking to friends, making pictures, surfing the internet, and listening to music. The last time I did that though was this past spring break. I really love doing that, but it is quite an art when one's parents begin to nag. Here's the dialogue.

[at computer]
Parent: Go to sleep, honey, you need rest.
Me: Lemme finish the last post. Real quick.
P: Well, ... okay. Don't stay up too late.
M: Don't worry, I'll get there soon.

or possibly

[doing the dishes]
P: Go to sleep! It's 11pm!
M: I will. Just finishing the dishes.
P: ... okay? Just go to sleep soon. You really need it!
[once parents exit, return to computer]

and the trickiest

[at the computer, 2:00am. Parent(s) come down for a midnight snack]
There's no dialouge. You have to hear them coming down the steps, minimize the windows, cut off the monitor, and break for the bathroom/closet, and remain in there (with the lights off) until they go back up. I've done this many-a-time.

I've only pulled an all-nighter once in my entire life. How sad. And it wasn't even on a school night. =(

I was on at 2:00, which is usually when I go to sleep on Saturday nights and such. But my friend came on, and I started to talk to him. I was going to tell him I had to go to sleep, but he seemed really down, so I kept talking to him. He had jsut broken up with his girlfriend (someone who was my friend at the time), and I talked to him for about two hours.

It was 4:00 then, and I waited for the sun to come up so I could say I'd pulled an all nighter (it came up at around 6:00 A.M.). And then I went to sleep until 11:00 A.M. I definitely need my beauty rest. I yawned a lot during the day. ^^;;;;;;;

Yeah I hate when someone tells me to go to bed.Alls I want to do is stay playing on the computer or playing games.Me and my friend usually go to sleep around 6a.m.-8a.m. just to wake up a few minutes later.Even though I get told to get off the computer or go to sleep and I'm really tired with my eyes heavy I just go to sleep or stay up longer.I just get bored going to sleep early because I'm always wide awake when everythings off.And I get sleepy when I'm on the computer.I usually force myself to stay awake.Overall I just like to stay up late.

All dayers are the hard ones. Now that I have no parents or others regulating my sleeping patterns with food I am free to sleep when I choose. The only conditions are ones I set on myself, which are 7 hours of sleep before work (four to five if I think I can get away with sitting next to the coffee machine all day), and three hours sleep before Uni.

I guess I just keep doing what ever I do until I am tired or one of those above conditions is meet. My rooms are dark at any time of day so I never notice. Though around 1am the music on the radio gets better. :)

Other than that I will be eating lunch in about an hour (10pm) and dinner some time close to 2am when I finish my foundation electronics assignment.

Hell even those who AREN'T adolecents tend to want to sleep late and sleep in. Everyone would like to, but responsibility prvents people (such as myself) from doing such things MOST of the time.

Given the opportunity, anyone would try to sleep late or in.

And to Retribution...
The first (sex) and last (wealth-gambling... I could say all three, seeing how gambling is a drug.) choice.

If I didn't have friends in different time zones, I wouldn't stay up all night. But I am addicted to conversation on most levels, so I have no choice. I need VERY little sleep to go on (my career scoring high in PIAA basketball (36) came during a 48 hour no sleep period).

I don't get irritable, I get quiet. I stay lucid till I MUST sleep or I will die, then I just go out for about seven hours and am ready to do it again. It's just because I am in good shape, I'd kill myself the way I abuse my body if it weren't pretty resilient.

I've pulled all nighters on the computer MANY times. Damn those addicting MMORPG's for keeping me from my bed. I've pulled a few all nighters just on OtakuBoards which gets boring at around 2:00am when pretty much no one is online. My average schedule during the summer is basically, wake up at 1:00pm and go to bed at 6:00am.
