What game(s) would you want to see from the older systems (SNES, Genisis and back) remade or finally given a sequel? I would love to see a GBA or DS Earthbound. Remember the satisfaction of absolutly destroying those hippies in Twoson? :tasty:  :demon:

I would love to see Earthbound re-released on the GBA or DS. I never got to play it on the SNES, and I don't really care for messing around with emulators too much, so I've never played the game. I would snatch up the game in a heartbeat if it were ever remade.

I'd also really like to see a re-release of Kirby Super Star, because it's the greatest Kirby game ever, and one of the more underrated games ever. The game is especially underrated, because of all of the high-profile games that Nintendo has released over the years. Kirby isn't among the first franchises that pop into people's minds when they think of Nintendo, which is sort of sad in a way.

ahh yes, kirby was definitely a fun game, its weird, I love the intricate RPG's of today, but its insanely fun to play old games for SNES like Mario, Kirby, Contra, etc, you'd think "wow, those graphics are terrible", but it doesn't even bother me :animestun

God, I would LOVE to see a Punch-Out! remake/sequal for one of the Nintendo systems. That game is so amazingly awesome, it deserves it. However I would also be afraid that a remake or sequal might spoil the legacy of the game. It would still be really great just to go toe to toe with guys like Bald Bull and Piston Honda again.

The GBA in Japan got "Mother 1+2" quite awhile ago (Mother was translated but never released on the NES and Mother 2 became Earthbound). Everyone expected it to be announced for the US, but a long time has passed and nothing has been said. I guess there's always this E3.

I'd really like to see Earthbound on GBA...that'd be most cool. That game has a really memorable atmosphere.

What ever happened to Mother 3? Wasn't that cancelled? I remember reading about it in magazines a long time ago and it looked wonderful. Very stylized. So, I suppose I'd love to see Mother 3 be released - perhaps for a next generation platform, maybe even DS or something.

In terms of sequels or remakes...I really don't know. I have to admit that seeing A Link to the Past remade in 3D would be quite something. When I remember the expansive size of that world...the many different locations and dungeons, and then I think of it in 3D, it seems pretty exciting. That'd be very interesting.

But other than that, I'm really not sure what I'd like to see remade or added to. Maybe an idea will come to me as I read through the thread. ~_^

In Japan Nintendo aired a Mother 1+2 commercial that said Mother 3 was in the works at the end of it. From all I was able to gather, it was coming to the GBA. Of course, absolutely nothing has been said since then. That was well over a year ago.

The original Mother 3 (Mother 64) was canned a long time ago as most people know. I guess there's always a possiblity of that appearing on the DS in some form considering how far along the game was.

Who knows. I assume it's not cancelled, probably on the backburner if anything.

I'd agree with Earthbound being remade, or even straight-out ported to a handheld. I have an emulator of the game but I've really never gotten to playing it. . .I was at that one part, at the beginning, in the cave, and I'd just beaten the boss in there and gone to the next town when I quit and for whatever reason (I don't quite remember) I forgot to save my progress. Haven't played it since then. From what I played, it was exceptional.

I would love to see a sequel to Starcraft, although only if it's as good as Starcraft is. I absolutely love Starcraft, it's one of the finest RTSes ever made. I can understand Blizzard not making a sequel yet: that's a lot to live up to. But, if they were in fact able to live up to it, or even make a better game than Starcraft was, that would rule.

I'd like to see a straight port or remake of Parasite Eve for either of the next-gen handhellds that just came out. I'd also like to see a true sequel to Parasite Eve - one that actually works on the game mechanics and improves them, and adds new and original things to the game, but yet still is PE. I say this because PE II was basically a Resident Evil rip-off. It wasn't completely but it was sure lackluster for all it took from RE. PE was far more enjoyable, original, creative, and I'd just love to see a game that's more in the vein of PE again. I fell in love with PE, and it's one of the few games that constantly keeps coming back to me.

An Earthbound game would be fairly awesome if remade but do you want to know what would be even cooler? The full 3D version of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past that James bought up, This is something that I have been hoping for quite a while. Suikoden 1 & 2 should also be either ported to GBA or made 3D and put on the PS2, I am just a little Unsure with this last one even when I bought it up because part of Suikodens charm was the fact that It had the best 2D graphics you could get so it might still work on the GBA.

Interesting, most interesting.

There are several games from the old Megadrive days of my childhood that I'd love to get an outing on some of the new portable systems, games such as Streets of Rage [1&2], Revenge of Shinobi and Golden Axe were classics, and although they weren't exceptionally long games they were excellent for their time. I mean there's literally hundreds of games from the Megadrive that could be ported to the GBA SP, DS or the PSP with literal ease, as Nintendo have done with the SNES. Adding new content to certain games wouldn't be hugely challenging or even just giving the graphics a bit of a polishing would be a nice touch in any event.

I'd definitely side with James' desire to see a full 3D rendition of A Link to the Past, ALttP is easily the best of all the Zelda games, and some next generation graphics and some new content would really make the game shine. If we were talking about full 3D conversions of other games, I'd love to see Final Fantasy 6 or perhaps even a proper 3D version of Pokémon, the Stadium games just don't live up to their portable cousins. Nintendo is working on a Pokemon game I forget the name of, but everything I've read points to it being the type of game you're looking for. Hopefully it turns out.

There are alot of great games that should be re-released on a newer system. I would like to see an updated version of the old Genesis beat em' up,Streets of Rage.
Sure it might have been another Double Dragon rip off, but I really like its cast of fighters and weird asortment of badguys.

I would also really like to see a sequel/remake of Gunstar Heroes, which has to be one of the greatest shooters ever created.

Ah first I've heard of it, though it would be a hugely welcomed change to their pitiful attempts at 3D Pokémon games that the Stadium ones have been. However in saying that the Stadium games did have some quite enjoyable mini-games, but lacked the longevity and RPG elements that made the Gameboy games so good.

Yeah, the new game is called Pokemon XD. It is apparently a fully 3D RPG, in the same vein as the Game Boy titles (but with completely redeveloped 3D graphics). It interests me, if only because I didn't mind the Game Boy games...I just didn't like most of the variations (although Pokemon Snap was kind of fun in an odd way). So seeing that world brought to life in 3D on GameCube should be really cool.

Anything is better than Pokemon Colloseum...

I would also liek to see an Earthbound remake, and I have always been buffudled as to why 1&2 never made it stateside. Youd think the demand would be high, but I guess since Earthbound never had a big fanbase here, it makes some sense.

Wouldn't it e cool if some next-generation Nintendo console had a game with like 50 NES games or something? Just a thought...

Uh...to get back to the subject of the thread, a game that I would really like to see would be either Warcraft or Diablo II remade for the Nintendo DS. I mean, come on, the system was almost made for Diablo-like hack-n-slashes (even if Diablo's a bit basic.) and I'm surprised that no one's utilized the touch screen for a good portable RTS. I mean, portable strategy games games in general dont really extend beyond Advance Wars and Fire Emblem, but I think theres a lot of unrealized potential in the DS for games like that. Other than what's already been said (Gunstar Heroes, Earthbound) I dont think that there's anything else that I really want in the world of gaming now from gaming's past.

Oh yes, I think you're absolutely right about that. Games like Warcraft and Diablo would work so well on DS.

You know what I'd really love?

I'd love to see Guild Wars ported to DS. With Wi-Fi connectivity and the touch screen, it could work. And be so much fun. Just imagine playing that game online wherever you are, without needing your PC. Yum.

I'd also love to see C&C: Red Alert on DS. With touch compatibility, RTS games could be amazing. You could draw a circle around a group of units to select all of them...or you could double-tap a unit to select all of its type on the screen. You could draw patrol paths, you could tap a building to send troops in...or double-tap to make them attack it. So many possibilities there, especially if you include Wi-Fi play.

Actually now that you bring it up, Pokémon Snap would be a game that would work tremendously well on the DS, and it seems to fit in with the whole alternate style of gaming that the DS seems to represent. Snap for me was a very fun game and I enjoyed it hugely because it was so different, I had never played anything like it before and have never played anything like it since. I think it's success was down to the fact that it was a Pokémon game that didn't try to be an RPG, it just tried to be fun and did it exceptionally well.

Do you think the Gamecube is a bad enough dude to handle the game, "Bad Dudes Vs the Ninjas?" :animeswea

Now, seriously, Bionic Commando would be so awesome on the Gamecube!!!! I wanted them to remake the Pokemon games, but make one BIG one that had all the regions in it. They really should remake Kirby Superstar, because it had one of my favorite boss battles ever! It's the one where in game " Great Cave Offensive," you fight a weird "Rpg" Style battle. That was cool. Gunstar Heroes should get a remake, and I'm waiting for a TRUE Final Fantasy VII Remake. :animeangr

This fully 3D Pokemon game sounds awesome. I've always loved the portable gameboy games, so it's cool to see Nintendo working on something a lot of people are for. The only problem is I don't own a Gamecube nor do I plan on buying one until the next gen consoles come and the Cube is really cheap, perhaps. I also want a DS but want a PSP but I can only get one at this point. I'd love to see more portable Pokemon games, as well.

I know that its from PS1/N64 era, but I had to bring up Legend of Dragoon. It would be awesome if that made a prequel that takes place in the era of the original dragoons. It would be cool if they continued Dart and company's story or moved on to the next generation of dragoons, but it would be even cooler still if they went back and explained how dragons and humans came to make an alliance against the winglies and how the original dragoons became dragoons if the dragon spirit was still in dragon. Were they gifts from the dragons or what? How did the war go down exactly? Sure, the humans and dragons ultimately won, but how did they shut them down?

And speaking of 3D Pokémon games and the Revolution, I've always thought an MMORPG would be perfect for the Pokémon universe. With the Revolution's WiFi support, it could be done, and I'm betting tons of people would go for it. It would be a perfect extension of the GBA Wireless Adapter used with FireRed/LeafGreen, as well as Diamond/Pearl on the DS undoubtably using the DS's wireless capabilities. Ever since seeing the original Pokémon Stadium, I've dreamed of this becoming a reality.

Yeah, I can just see people training their monsters, then going into battle with people all over the place. I'm all for this DS Pokemon MMORPG, it would truly be awesome. It would really instill a lot more life into the Pokemon franchise.

Although it is still a great franchise, it's been ailing, at least in my opinion, since Nintendo hasn't really changed that much about the Pokemon games from the first on. It's slowly getting stale. I hope with this new 3D game they're making they add in a lot of new things which will diversify the gameplay and make it different in some ways. All we can do is wait and reserve judgement. I don't doubt Nintendo will deliver something great with this 3D game, but I would like to see more done with the Pokemon games than has been done in the past. There's still so much Nintendo can do with it if they just get creative enough people working at it.

That's great news that the Revolution will be backwards compatible, it'd be a shame to lose all the great games that Nintendo have released on the Gamecube, as happened with the Nintendo 64 [not counting them being re-release].

As for the idea of a Pokémon MMORPG, I think it'd be a great idea so long as you live somewhere where Pokémon is a popular game, round where I live there's very few people who play anything else other than GTA and even fewer who'd be willing to admit they play the games. I've always hoped that Nintendo might one day take Pokémon from the Gameboy and up onto the next level, as they've proven themselves well capable of doing in the past with such series as Metroid and Zelda.

Mitch pretty much summed much of my thoughts on the prospects of this new 3D Pokémon game, the GBA series has been good but lacked originality. Heck in Sapphire and Ruby they even took out the Day and Night feature which I personally though was great. The series has been getting quite stale, I'd love to see a lot of new features being brought into the 3D game [hopefully games eventually] that could be ported to it's handheld cousins. The ability of customise your appearance for example would be a great feature to add some uniqueness to a player.

well, theres lots of games I've love to see remade, but this question is basically for Gavin, you seem to be a big fan of Star Wars, and I really enjoyed the KOTOR series, do you know if or how many more installments there will be of this series? The game is pretty unique, and its fun. So if you havn't played it yet you should definitely check it out
