Cap'n
Ok, so I decided to start a villain contest like they're doing over at GameFAQs...What you gotta do is post a maximum of five of your favorite anime/manga villains and on April 10th, I'll compile them all and get the top ten. Then I'll start a new thread with a poll of those 10 and we'll see who the ultimate anime/manga villain is. The only stipulations are that the villain has to be originally from an anime (or manga) and he/she must stay a villain throughout the series. This means no Gaaras or Sesshoumarus. But remember this doesn't necessarily mean the main bad guy/girl. Please submit your choices in this format: Villain Name (Name of anime/manga villain is from) Ok so my votes are for Orochimaru (Naruto), Legato Bluesummer (Trigun), Vicious (Cowboy Bebop), Claire Leonelli (Heat Guy J), and Captain Kuro (One Piece). The Drizzle
let's see... 1.Viscous(cowboy bebop) 2.legato(trigun) 3.orochimaru(naruto) 4.skurai(ragnorok) from the ragnagrok that is made in korea(manwha). 5.captain kuro(one peice) 6.TEAM ROCKET!!!!!!!(I luv ya, James!) just kidding about that last one guys... cant think of many villans at the moment(having a brain fart) so ill probably edit this later, till then this is my list (hmm...this looks kind of similar to Cap'ns, wonder why THAT is?)
Kamuro
1. Orochimaru - Naruto 2. Karasu - Yu Yu Hakusho 3. Sensui - Yu Yu Hakusho 4. 17 - Dragonball Z/GT 5. Legato - Trigun I like Vicious from Cowboy bebop as well, but I wanted to make a somewhat different list then the first couple.
Tatsubei Yagyu
1. Uchiha Itachi- Naruto, cuz he rox!!! :D If you don't know who he is, look at my avator. 2. Legato Bluesummer-Trigun, He totally screws with Vash to a poit where its so not cool, its cool! :animeswea 3. Scar-Full Metal Alchemist, He
blew a piece of Al off, and Ed's arm of
, so you can't say that he's not cool. 4. Sesshomaru-Inuyasha, I'm not even sure if his really a villian anymore 'cause he just walks around most of the time, but he does want to kill Inuyasha. 5. Greed-Full Metal Alchemist, I know nothing about him, but he can transform, which is cool. :catgirl:
Raiyuu

Legato Bluesummers (Trigun). He's sinister and manipulative and he's the only one that knows exactly which of Vash's buttons to push.
Gauron (Full Metal Panic). Because like all the best villains, he just will not die!
Luke Valentine (Hellsing). He's actually a more interesting villain than Incognito in my opinion. His fatal flaw - believing himself to be more powerful than he actually is - means there's an extra element of dramatic irony when he boasts to Alucard how he's the Hellsing vampire's nemesis.
Hokushin (Nadesico the Motion Picture - Prince of Darkness). He's sinister, insane, dangerous and a twisted, sadistic torturer. Could you ask for more in a villain?
Dr Jackal (Get Backers). He's sinister. Starting to see a pattern emerging in my choices? I love really sinister villains.
Can I also put in a vote for Mueller and Coldsman from New Dominion Tank Police to be officially labelled the WORST villains ever?
SirPsychoSexy
1.) Sensui Shinobu (YYH). He is just SO COOL. Not only is he one of my fav antagonists, he's one of my favorite CHARACTERS EVER. 2.) Scar (FMA). He has a reason to be the "bad guy". 3.) Altena (Noir). Manipulative, scheming...love her. 4.) Lust (FMA). So ruthless and awesome. 5.) Fûma (X). I love him 'cause he's so damn twisted. boxybrown305
My top five are... 1)Viscious (Cowboy Bebop)- He was just bad a**, and he had a sword. 2)Lagato (Trigun)- Also bad a**. He plays with your mind, so cool! 3)Seishiro (X)- He is also in Tokyo Babylon, but i only listed him from X, since he is good in TB, but bad in X. Anyway, Subaru is probably my fvorite anime character ever, so Seishiro surely isn't far behind, what with being practicaly the same, only evil. 4)Kimimaru (Naruto)- When a guy
pulls bones out of his body to use as weapons, and then makes a forest of sharps bones from his body,
you know why this guy is cool. 5)Skurai (Ragnarok)- Oh man, oh man, Skurai was awsome. You simply can't beat him.
(Until he got beat...)
Well, ya so he's cool. Along with all the other guys...
Originally Posted by SirPsychoSexy 5.) Fûma (X). I love him 'cause he's so damn twisted.
I happen to be friends with the Cap'n, and he's not gonna count Fuma, since he, at one point was good. If you want your vote to count, you might want to change that. Same goes for Sasuke, and Sesshomarou.
Bloodseeker
This is about to be three tournaments going on at same time! That's pretty rare for a non-Game FAQs board! 1. Scar (Fullmetal Alchemist) Great mix of bad-assness and sympathy. He's got a cool air about him rivaled only Mustang, and how could you not love a guy that attacks by blowing up people's brains? On the other hand, he's also a guy that's had everything that he grew up with destroyed, and he blames the same elite group in the military that the protagonist just so happens to be a part of. 2. Griffith (Berserk) The ultimate betrayer. Throughout the series, the bond between him and the main character Guts becomes stronger and stronger. Guts helps Griffith lead the Band of the Hawk to many successful campains, and goes out of his way to help some of Griffith's schemes within the courts to go off without a hitch.
In the end, this man deliberately sent not only his best friend, but all of his loyal soldiers and companions within the BotH to their deaths in exchange for power and a place in the God Hand.
3. Legato (Trigun) Both this guy and his boos are examples of how to do the extreme psycho villain idea right. He's obsessed with killing, he slaughters entire villages just because he likes killing people. Its a refreshing break to see someone like Legato play a frontman role in a good anime like Trigun. 4. Naraku (Inuyasha) I don't think that you can get much more despicable than Naraku at the core. He crosses the main characters in downright terrible ways (especially Inuyasha and Sango), turning their own allies against them, slaughtering all that they cared for, and taunting them with ticking time bombs like Miroku's wind tunnel. Then rather than face the pissed off main characters, he runs and hides in the shadows while sending his incarnations to do his dirty work for him. I can't think of any other bad guys that I care enough about to add to this list. If I think of another, I'll edit this and throw him/her in. Tatsubei Yagyu
Well, since Sesshomaru doesn't count... I'll have to say Sensui. When he first appeared how that psychic dude freaked out at his thoughts ALONE. If a psychic dude cries like a baby just because of your thoughts, you know your badass. :D Also the music when was awesome! :animesmil
araina rinu
trying to pull in a few new ones... 1. Vicious- Cowboy Bebop- katanas, crows, and one bad*** name, he is definately evil until the end 2. Nakago- Fushigi Yuugi- one manipulative SOB, yeah just break everyones hearts 3. Alan Gabriel- Big O II- an obscene lust for killing andriods, and perhaps others too. hes smooth, a slick dresser, and crazy. 4. Gluttony- Full Metal Alchemist- most of the hommunculi would be good candidates, but this guy was the worst to me. the producers did their job inventing this guy, he was so whacked out. i actually couldnt wait for him to die in the series. that means he had to be particularly evil, since i hated him so much lol. lastly a little manga reference (since havent seen the series) 5. Muraki- Descendants of Darkness- manipulative, murderer, puppetmaster. not to mention hes a
bisexual vampire. this sort of thing is interesting when the other party does not return the feelings XD
as far as i know hes not turning good anytime soon.
ladyarianrod
1. Kuroro/Quoll, Hunter x Hunter. He is the leader of the Spider gang, a ruthless band of powerful and inredibly cruel criminals. He believes in what he's doing and he seems to have no regrets for his violent lifestyle. 2.
Sasuke
from Naruto.
Now that he's gone bad, he's much better than he once was.
3. Dilandau, Escaflowne. He is a truly messed up individual. Dilandau is insane, ruthless, obsessed, and ....tragic. 4. Seta Soujiro, Rurouni Kenshin. An awesome swordsman with a dark past to boot. He is a wonderfully confused, complex character. 5. The 7 deadly Sins, Full Metal Alchemist. They are unique and they're based on Catholic/Christian mythology. Very interesting. 6. Hisoka, Hunter X Hunter. Another weirdo from this great series. Hisoka is bizarre and powerful. He isn't really on any side, but he sides with Kuroro's gang for a while. He is deceptive by nature.

However, I don't know that I would call Hisoka a pure bad guy, per se; in my mind, he kind of exemplifies the "pseudo-evil" type of character one often finds in anime. In the later OVAs, he
even plays on Gon's side in that volleyball game. And in the TV show's Celestial Tower arc, he ended up being the driving force behind Gon's improvement & determination--more like a straightforward rival than the usual shounen villain who must be defeated.
Basically, he gets in the way a lot, and he can be pretty ruthless, but I don't think he's a true antagonist on the same level as Kuroro & the Spiders. ~Dagger~

That's what I like about HxH. Although most of the good guys are moral, there is no ultimate villain to defeat (until the Spider Arc). In the Hunter Exam, even the good guys use sneaky techniques to defeat each other. In fact, one of the main characters (my favorite :D ) is an assassin. It's very much like Yu Yu Hakusho-- the good guys are often ruthless and 'cool', not pure or motivated by justice. I also think that Illumi, Killua's brother, is a decent villain. He is creepy, murderous, and oppressive. Just about any of the Spiders is a good villain. Feitan is good, as are Machi, Nobunaga, Ubogin, and Shizuku. Cap'n
2.
Sasuke
from Naruto. [spoiler']Now that he's gone bad, he's much better than he once was.

I'm sorry ladyarianrod, but I can't use
Sasuke because he's not a villain for the entire series...
however since you posted 6 villains I'll just use the other 5. Also, I'm just counting the 7 Deadly Sins (FMA) as 1 villain...I know they have their own quirks but its too difficult to document them as individual people/homunculi. Dagger
Let's try to give reasons for our choices, okay? That's my main stipulation for allowing tournament-type threads to take place. Lists of names aren't going to cut it, and may end up being deleted. elflord9d, I'd really appreciate it if you briefly explained why you picked those particular villains. ~Dagger~
Cap'n
I just wanted to remind everyone that there is pretty much one day left to post your choices. Also, I specifically stated that Sesshoumaru doesn't count. So stop posting him cuz it is a wasted vote. That and, the rules also state that you can put a maximum of 5 picks. I only re-state this because there have been a number of 6s. Luckily everyone who picks 6 has a Sesshoumaru. Coincidence? Who knows. Thanks for voting everyone and keep up your picks Btw, nice call on that one Dagger...try and say why you picked your villains since it's sort of against the rules just to post a quick list of random badguys. Raiyuu
I hate to be a pedant - No, wait, I love being a pedant. It makes me feel all superior over people :animeswea Dictionary.com lists this as the definition of 'Viscous':
vis·cous adj.

Having relatively high resistance to flow.
Viscid; sticky.

It's spelt Vicious, people. I'm sorry to be like this but it annoys me that you list him as one of your favourite villains but then mix him up with a thick, gloopy liquid.
Dagger
It's spelt Vicious, people. I'm sorry to be like this but it annoys me that you list him as one of your favourite villains but then mix him up with a thick, gloopy liquid.[/size']
Preach it, brother. :animesmil 1. Johan Liebert from Monster: The best anime antagonist of all time, hands down. I know that's a pretty sweeping statement, but Johan is diabolical to the extreme. I would kill to see him go head-to-head against Light (the main character of the manga Death Note, who is comparably evil & intelligent; if we could nominate manga characters for this, Light would totally be second on my list). 2. Kuroro Lucifer from Hunter x Hunter: Funnily enough, I know less about this guy than any of the other villains on my list. He's very mysterious, but I guess that's part of what keeps my interest. His calm attitude makes it impossible to know what he's really thinking, and he has the most interesting nen talent in the entire show. 3. Seishirou Sakurazuka from Tokyo Babylon and X TV: Besides being appropriately sophisticated and polished, Seishirou is (again, in my opinion) easily one of CLAMP's most interesting characters. He and Subaru aren't exactly iconic characters on their own, but when you take their peculiar relationship as well as the other people involved (like Hokuto) into consideration, the dynamic created by Seishirou's presence starts to feel a little more special. 4. Zoisite from Sailor Moon: He made the first season worth watching. What I particularly like about him is that he manages to be both evil and deeply sympathetic, which is kind of rare in anime. Most evil characters become more sympathetic and/or well-developed by either seeing the error of their ways or showing that it isn't quite their fault that they've ended up going to the dark side. Zoisite, however, is bad to the bone. 5. Akio Ohtori from Revolutionary Girl Utena: I was actually kind of tempted to put down
Anthy
instead, but that's debatable at best. ~Dagger~
Ailes de Velour
Ugh, I am so glad you decided to disallow Sesshomaru. He'd be in almost every single vote. Thank you, so very much. 5. Freeza-Dragonball Z-Arh, I have to give him SOME credit. I mean, other than being rather irritating, he was still unbelievably evil and powerful. In my mind, he was the last saga before DBZ started to take a turn for boredom. 4. Jean Gadot-Geneshaft-He was quirky and ambitious, and he
cunningly destroyed the main ship so he'd be named as captain.
Too bad he was only there for one episode, so I don't know if he really counts. 3. Haku-Naruto-He was so faithful to Zabuza, and he was really talented as a ninja. He did whatever it would take to please Zabuza. 2. Seta Sojirou-Rurouni Kenshin-So terribly polite and charming, regardless of the fact that he has absolutely no emotions at all. As far as bishounens go, he's one of the best. But for villainy, he's almost maniacle in a calm sort of way. 1. Morganna-.hack//SIGN-She has got to be the best villain in any anime. You never see her, you only hear her sweet-sounding voice. She's a very mysterious entity, and the whole World is in her hand. If she wanted a volcanic area to become an ocean, she could do it. Just knowing that she could delete every single main character if she wanted to is terrifying.
Cap'n
Ok everyone! Thanks to all you who voted. The nomination round is officially over. Soon I'll post the top 10 or 11 villains, since there were some ties and whatnot, in a poll format thread. If Dagger or some other mod could please lock this topic, since it serves no other purpose, that would be fantastic. If anyone does vote before the thread is locked, your vote will not count. Thanks again everyone!
