Filipinorocker1
There's rock, rap, classical, jazz, blues, country, reggae, and a bunch more. I like all of these except for country. I just don't like it. So just pick your favourites. You can pick as many as you want.

Kamuro
I like rock, more specifically hardcore, but that wasn't really an option, therefore, rock
The Drizzle
i see that the most popular one is and will most likely end up to be rock. that is kinda sad though, because there are SO many types of rock and there are so many different sounds to it. in my opinion it is to general but im still okay with it. like take indie, for example. it fits into rock, but sounds nothing like some other rock bands, such as AC/DC or Motley Crue. Ill edit this later im running out of time...OH NO!!! Also, hey man, wheres the techno? Its a ligitamate form of music and should be recognized as so (i would SO pick it!). Lunai
I had to pick "other" because my favorite genre of music is what is currently being labeled as "Alternative" - what sounds like a type of rock to me. Bands like Portishead & Maroon 5 & Save Farris & Straylight Run & Louis XIV...
Semjaza
Indie isn't a genre. It simply a word to refer to a band on an independant label. People seem to use it to describe more eclectic bands or fuzz rock, but it is nothing. There is independant hip-hop, electronica, jazz, rock, blues, country and everything else in the entire music spectrum. It's pointless to use it as a descriptor for sound. As for favorite genre, I don't have any particular one. I listen to groups that I feel fit into everything (yes, even country; many people refuse to believe there is good stuff within that). I think most of my favorites do fit within the general "rock" container, although there are all sorts of different styles within that.
Ailes de Velour
Rock is basically all I can stand. Not even all genres of rock, either. I love symphonic metal, gothic, industrial, and very recently, all forms of emo. For each genre, I'd have to say my favorite bands are...Nightwish, Rasputina, KMFDM, and Taking Back Sunday (if you consider them emo). I also like Poison the Well, but I'm not sure what genre they belong.
Manic Webb
Rhythm & Blues isn't listed, so I'll just count that as Blues. I like the Blues, too, so it all works out. I also enjoy a little bit of Smooth Jazz. I was pretty much raised on rap. I listen to a few forms of Rock, but don't ask me which sun-genres they are. I started to appreciate Country music once I realized Toby Keith was the 50 Cent of Country; overrated and not that damn creative. I understand the importance of Classical music (also Romantic, Boroque, and everything else that gets clumped in with Classical), but I'm not one to listen to it that often. Riesz
I usually like any type of music, as long as it's not rap (but I can actually stand some rap... but most of what I hear of it sounds pretty much like any other song). I mostly like older music because today's music just sounds.. the same as everything else. There isn't much that stands out a lot. The only band I can think of is Evanescence because it sounded like Opera mixed with Rock. I'm mostly into Rock though... Any kinds. Like Nirvana, or Rage Against the Machine, or Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers. No rap or screaming, and I should be pretty content with other music though.
KittyLynn
I had to vote for "Other" because I like well what is known as "Screamo" or "Emo". I could go on and on and on about my music since teachers, parents, friends and random associates have all said, "I am literally obsessed with music." I like emo like Dashboard and Matchbook Romance, to screamo like A Static Lullaby and Silverstienn. I like everything in between, I like everything close to it, I like it when it's mixed with other genres like ska and jazz. I like everything about my kind of music. It is everything - - Period. But I will listen to anything, I'm open to every genre, every artist and their message. I don't like those people who only listen to a song because it is a specific type. I'm open. <
Charon
Soul music! (Including my favorites: Macy Gray, Angie Stone, Floetry, Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, D'Angelo, Tweet, Raphael Saadiq, early B.E.P., and Teedra Moses) Soul is so organic, and comes in such variety. The whole "neo-soul" tag placed with many of the above artists I think was more of a movement that a sound genre. I think neo-soul was just a bunch of like-minded artists, sick of the early 90s cliche R&B. It's a pretty broad genre, mixed with a little bit of everything else. It's a kind of aqquired taste; It took my awhile to grow fond of it, but one summer I took a chance and bought Angie Stone's "Stonve Love" and was hooked. Most importantly, the genre is full of real talent. No Ciaras or Hilary Duffs.
Guest kizzah3k1
I live for my rap music ( Mos Def, Jadakiss, Jay-Z, OutKast etc.) I'm into a bunch of other genre's including alternative, rock, dancehall and even a little country. Rap is my first love though.
Juke Box Hero
Rock and Roll. From CCR to Crue to Aerosmith to ZZ Top. I also like pop-rock (Karla Bonoff, etc.), and hybrid (LP), metal etc.
Xyandar
I'm into Rock, Old Rock, Heavy Metal, Hard Rock(there is a difference), Hybrid, CERTAIN Rap, and some slower songs....but from rock bands like saliva and others..
Zen
I voted Rap, because its the closest thing to HIP HOP that there was. Rap is my first and most favorite form of music. Just something about it that makes my head nod a little more than anything else. But I am a huge fan of old school rock. Queen, Ozzy Osbourne, AC/DC, The Doors, the classics, man. Some current bands I like too. Blink 182, possibly the best commercialized punk band today. Sum 41 (there first two abulms atleast...). Oh, and I'm liking My Chemical Romance more and more every day. As for favorite artist... Gotta go with Jay-Z. Then Notorius B.I.G... Then... Ludacris. Sorry, but the guys the swiftest 'working' MC out right now (since Jay is 'retired' and Biggie's dead...). Oh, and Mos Def is an underground legend! Now if this were a Hip Hop category, it would be, hands down, the Invisbl Skratch Piklz... But since there not rappers, doesn't fall into the narrow catergory. (Sorry if I seem hostile.)
Jake of Bodom
I selected "Other" because neither metal nor classical/orchestral were choices :(. And before anyone says anything, metal is very, very, VERY different from rock. Metal offers the most diversity within itself than any other genre of music. I love all kinds of music mind you - blues, folk, classical/orchestral, prog, good authentic hip-hop (not rap so much) - music in general is awesome. Metal just happens to have the most subgenres and different styles. I've also found that the most talented guitarists are in metal bands, and being a guitarist, I find that very appealing. James P. Galvatron
I myself am a big rock fan and I get alot of flak for it I like Classic Rock, Metal, Gothic, Punk Rock, some Emo, Ska( No Doubt), Indie (Modest Mouse), and just plain rock. I love listening to it at morning at night at suppertime when I'm going to bed whenever. I also like rap and so do most of the people in my family and the people at school. Sadly though I can't listen to it in the car cause my mom can't stand Rock she would rather listen to *gag* R&B or Gospel.
TOTALIMMORTAL
I really hate it when people always just put "rock" for things like this. You can't just say rock. At least add metal, because it's so much different... I totally agree with you Jake of Bodom.

saiyuki chick
well, a lot of these people have points, as to the options weren't very specific, but hey, it's not like you could put EVERY single option ever on there...^^;;; anyway, i like alt. rock, indie, little bit of emo, heavy metal, country (hehe, looks pretty funny next to heavy metal, doesn't it? XD) some jazz...for the most part, give me anything but rap...bleh...><;; but i obviously have my preferences ^^
NinjaJedi007
I like punk/ska stuff. Some groups I'm into are Reel Big Fish, Nofx, Less Than Jake, and Fall Out Boy. There are others but lets leave it at that for now!

boxybrown305
I voted in this thread a real long time ago, but i suppose that i'll post now. My votes went to Rock, Jazz, Blues, and Regae. When in the right mood, i very much enjoy jazz/blues, and the same goes for regae. Most of what i listen to is rock. True, this is very vague, and it would be more appropriate to have more options, but this is just a simple pole after all, so it will do. I listen and love many forms of rock. I like classic rock, or old rock or whatever you want to call it. Not slow stuff, i'm talking about Led Zepplin, Pink Floyd, AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Rush, there are many more. Also punk. The "original creators" as i call them would be the Ramones, the Clash, and the Sex Pistols. I like many other punk bands as well, Black Flag, Dead Kennedy's, Misfits, again so many more. I also like harder/heavier rock, such as metal. I'm feeling done listing bands, so... Also ska seems obvious, being a sort of blend of regae and punk. Indie, techno, a lot of different kinds. I really don't like any kind of Emo/Screamo or stuff like that, though. As for rap, i have no respect whatsoever for any of the newer rap. Older rap has my respect, such as Run DMC, NWA, Public Enemy. They actually had some level of skill to it (that and freestyle is ok). All of the newer rap groups though, are just horrible. They're all idiots who have an IQ just high enough to make a few words ryme, add in at least twenty random and unneccesary swears, and you have a rap star. To add to that, they act like they could have any woman, or kill any man with their bare hands, as if that means anything. Just no musical talent.
