Jin awoke and felt bad. He saw the Mother healing him.

"You have finally awoken.." she said smiling.

"Yeah..."

"Now that you are awake you must learn your shintais."

"Shintais??" Jin said puzzled.

"Yes, it was the ability of yours that was granted to you when you decided to return to Earth."

"Oh that, I remember."

"Good, we will practice. Now meditate."

"Meditate?? Maditate on what?"

"Into people's minds. You want to read their minds correct? Now think and concentrate."

Jin closed his eyes and began to think...

Jin attempted to meditate as Tsuke watched on curiously. He never really understood how just sitting there could help people evolve and hone their skills. The mother turned her attention to Tsuke, approaching him slowly. "Now it is your turn to master your shintais" she spoke calmly. Tsuke scratched his head "I don't even know what a shintai is, how am I suppose to master one? Who are you anyway? Why can't I leave here yet?"

The mother sighed "You can start by closing your mouth." Tsuke stopped talking, mumbling irritably under his breath. "Now, I've searched your mind and found your shintais, I'm somewhat surprised. I wasn't aware we had such a Yin in our presence." Tsuke looked confused "A "Yin"? What do you mean?" The mother walked before him speaking slowly "You have a blatant darkness within you, it's powerful, but it is yet to be recognized. Although I wish for you to master Yang, it is important that realize your potential in every area. And we will explore that now." Tsuke watched on intrigued by what the woman was saying. He felt as though she was gazing into his mind, reading his thoughts effortlessly. He became almost frustrated at the fact that he could keep nothing to himself, and even his deepest thoughts were at the mercy of a woman he'd never even met before.

"Now close your eyes, and I will show you what you've longed to see." Tsuke did as he was told, closing his eyes slightly. Immediately he was back in his old town, except, it was different. It was quiet, the streets usually busy and crowded with people, now abandoned and silent as he moved along slowly. He saw someone on the ground, the girl he once knew, once loved, lying there, lifeless. He dropped to his knees, inspecting the body, covered in blood he began to cry, opening his eyes. He was still in the cave, but everything was going blurry. He was so angry, overwhelmed with anger he pounded the floor with his fist. He was crying, but not his usual tears, red tears streamed down his cheek.

He felt hair begin to flow down his back, long and light as it almost flapped in the wind. He rose to his feet, letting out a scream as it echoed through the cavern, startling Jin from his meditation. His claw began to grow longer, covered in crimson as was his face. A long scar formed across cheek, blood seeping from the gash and tainting the floor below him. He breathed heavily, feeling the power course through him. He began to regain himself, hearing a faint voice in the back of his head. As he became more aware the words were more distinct. Kill...Kill...You must kill the voice echoed through his mind. Tsuke closed his eyes tightly trying to ignore the noise bouncing around in his head, but he couldn't. His eyes opened in a glare towards Jin. He seemed to disappear as he burst into a run towards the helpless man. In one quick motion Jin's head fell to the ground, blood splashing as the lifeless body convulsed slightly.

Mother jumped to Tsuke quickly, placing her hand on his head bringing him out of the trance. He fell to the ground, huffing and puffing wildly. Laying before him was Jin's head, the eyes rolling back slowly. Tsuke looked around franticly, searching for an enemy, but only finding himself soaked with blood. His weapon cluttered with shards of skin. He pounded the ground again, screaming in anger, finally coming to the realization that he was Jin's murderer. He felt as though a criminal, falling to the ground, wimpering silently.

OOC: Who Am I? has resigned, so unfortunently I had to kill his character.

To master the shadow, one must first allow it to master itself...

Kojiro sat, blinded by the Mother. His anger festered within him, but what was he to do about it? He sat. For four hours he sat, nothing happening to him. Could the old fool possibly had been lying to him? Dammit, he thought. It all came back to him. Perhaps it was all a lie, created by the Mother to weaken him. She wasn't as strong as she acts, with a few precise movements, he could probably match her...

The shadow is made animate by the inanimate, what doesn't exist makes it exist...

Kojiro dared not leave the safety of the cliff, for if this power truly existed within him, now would be the time to bring it out. Kojiro then, after letting his hatred and other insecurites go, his mind went blank. Another hour or so passed and Kojiro's mind slipped towards the idea of escape. He wanted to escape this hell, but not alone. He wanted to take her with him, if he hoped to leave, he'd have to find a way to get them both. He had to help her escape with him, he needed to get her.

The shadow follows you, now it may move freely...

It opened its eyes, it's cold dark eyes and searched the cliff. Nothing. It ran down, hiding within the grass as it ran. If anything saw it, it would be mistaken for a small creature, or perhaps even a gust of wind. Under the moonlight, no doubt it would be seen, but it was very doubtful anything would notice what it was. It tasted the air, it tasted her, and as a serpent to eve it slithered her way. Desire mounting, and want overriding its senses, the very thought of her made it ache in agonizing ecstacy. It moved towards her, its desire guiding it in the direction it felt her.

Perserverance paid off as it saw her, leaping gracefully through the trees and above the lake. It watched in tentative awe, moments passing in which it would not dare go near her. Its patience, however would not hold. It moved to the lake's edge and waited. She fell to the surface, landing firmly above the water. It readied itself for the attack. She leapt again, the wind soaring through her hair and down her frame while her clothes moved in rhythm to it. She twisted and performed a flip in the air and went towards the ground face first. She didn't notice however that the moonlight giving her that mystic glow suddenly disappeared from above her...

It slammed into her, forming itself around her every curve and contour, taking her in and engulfing her in its passion. Heaven was tasted through her as they plunged into the water below. There it released her and returned to the surface and then to the land. It was nearly five minutes before she surfaced and swam for the shore. Its attack had caught her off guard, and now there she was, shocked and vulnerable. It slithered to her and rooted itself firmly in her own shadow, there it took all of her in. It saw through her wet clothes and at her body beneath, at the swell of her breasts and bosom as her clothes hugged them. It then smelled her, it smelled the love below, it smelled the soft lovely musk of her hair. It felt the heat of her breath. It had to have her, it had to take her.

Two tentacles suddenly shot of from the ground and, grabbing her arms, forced her down on her back. It then brought out more tentacles, bringing the total to six out of itself, and with its bidding, they started removing her clothes. She didn't scream, although she attempted futily to resist. The shadows overpowered her, although they didn't harm her. Gently the tentacles began to caress her, some moving around her breasts, others around her cunt. She quietly struggled throughout this ordeal, and made little progress. Then, out of the blackness that was it, came a head. It's eyes were red and snakelike, and it's face was black as a moonless night. Following the head was a torso, and then suddenly, a large creature stood where it once was. Two of the tentacles holding her down suddenly became arms and the beast moved in close to her. It's face became level with hers. They stared into each other's eyes. It opened its mouth and let out it's serpent like tongue, licking the side of her face. She whimpered some, as she suddenly felt something inbetween her legs. A thick mass of darkness had gathered there and the thought of it there frightened her.

"Liang..." she heard escape from its mouth. It knew her name, and the voice through the grunting sounded familiar.

It's mass was suddenly within her and moving. At first it moved slowly, slipping in and out of her tight cunt with ease, but it began feeling different, more fleshy. It then began moving faster, slipping in and out easily despite the tightness of her pussy. She felt it in her stomach as she looked up at the monster who began taking shape. The contours of its face began to shape and a familiar face joined the familiar voice. The red eyes disappeared and revealed a blindfold, but she knew this face.

"K-Kojiro?" she gasped as she then felt his breath upon her.

Without thinking she brought his head down and began kissing him as he began thrusting into her faster. His breathing grew more rapid as he suddenly remembered who and where he was. He smelled her beneath him, felt the warmth of her touch all around him. He thrust into her again and heard her whimper out a soft, "yes", which made him swell. Faster and faster he thrusted into her, listening to her little whimpers and cries. He leaned in and kissed her cheek, licking the warm tears that were rolling down them. He couldn't see Liang, but he didn't have to, he didn't want to. Nothing could be more perfect than what he saw right now within his own mind, what his feelings allowed him to see. The shadow began receding back within Kojiro until he was fully visible under the moonlight. He controlled it now, fully. The exercise was a blur to him, and he didn't know how exactly he gained control of it, but it was his again.

"I-I..." Kojiro began, but was unable to finish.

He felt his climax coming and removed the blindfold from him eyes to look at Liang. She was red with pleasure as her body bounced in the rhythm of his thrusts, and she met his gaze. They stared at one another and said not a word as Liang gasped with the coming of her climax. Kojiro released his too in a fury of emotions and fell atop of Liang. She held him there in the grass and kissed him passionately, not knowing if she'd just been raped or made love to. She didn't care as long as it was him. They lied there for the rest of the night, not sleeping but never daring to leave each other's side.

And they become one...

OOC: Finish it out Neuvoxraiha.

Liang pulled herself closer to Kojiro and slept.

The Mother watched them and smiled to herself. A bond like that would save them both. In this world of dark and hate.

The next morning, Liang sat up straight, feeling her body. She felt fine. Not sore, not tired, just....feeling like she had been taken last night and held for hours. Eventually Kojiro woke up as well and held her hand. She looked up at him and smiled slightly. He stood up and drew her to her feet. Her clothes were gone once more, but she didn't mind. She was just about used to it.

Eventually she pulled on Kojiro's hand and pointed at the waterfall.

"Let's go."

"Why?"

"She's waiting for us."

He followed. Liang leapt like a deer, clearing several trees, then turned, still flying, and bid him to follow her more closely. He did. A dark shadow followed her every move, landing on her shadow just before it darted away again. She laughed, tossing back her head, the red hair flying out behind her like a cloud. Eventually they came to the waterfall. Tsuke was standing there with the Mother. They watched the approach of one naked girl and a shadow that was Kojiro. They turned to each other for a moment, exchanging a knowing glance.

"They are partners."

"Yes. She helped him master his Shintai. In a way."

"What happened?"

"Why don't you ask him?"

Kojiro and Liang landed at the edge of the waterfall and walked into the grotto. The Mother, smiled so to speak, and handed Liang another set of clothes. While she dressed, the Mother gave them some last minute instructions. Then, without another word, she dissappeared in a flurry of cherry blossoms and paper cranes. The three looked at one another and then back at the waterfall. Liang smelled the air, then walked closer into the cave itself. She held up one hand, creating a small light in her palm.

"It's this way."

"How can you tell?"

"I.....just feel it."

Tsuke and Kojiro looked at each other. They followed her. The light in her palm cast a glow through the gloom of the cave, which grew darker as they walked furhter in. Eventually they couldn't even hear the waterfall anymore. Instead, they felt increasingly cold in the chill of the darkness. They could see their breath, and feel their warmth seeping away. Liang held her hand up higher and continued. Eventually her light extinguished and they found themselves in complete and total darkness.

Chapter 5

Heaven

Characters: Laing, Tsuke

Summary: Tsuke and Liang awake to find that Kojiro is not with them. Instead, they find themselves in Hiroshima right before "The Bomb" is dropped. They look for Kojiro but as soon as they realize where they are, the Bomb is dropped and they're forced to live out this day. At the end they find the exit to this hell at ground zero.

Notes: This chapter's main purpose is to get Liang and Tsuke acquainted as they look for Kojiro who does not show up. This hell was made in horrible contrast to the somewhat up-tempo hell's we've been to. Make as you will of this chapter, what you want it to be is entirely up to you.

Liang looked around. Tsuke and her were standing on a street corner, people rushing around them in droves. They stood on a street corner. It was crowded, and the lack of cars showed her more than she wanted to know. They were in Hiroshima. Her ability to read the signs was augmented by Tsuke's own ability. He pointed up and they saw billboards advertising the war effort. Liang was glad for her clothes. In this day and age, if they were right, .....she wouldn't be permitted to be unclad.

Suddenly, she saw the city's name flash across a maquee across the street and she sucked in her breath swiftly, exhaling and saying it outloud.

"Hiroshima."

Tsuke turned to her quickly, a look of slight panic on her face.

"Shit."

"We're definitely in hell. I can tell."

Liang bit her lower lip and instinctively moved closer to Tsuke, afraid that the people would separate her from him, and they'd be unable to find the other. She wanted to run, she wanted to hide, she wanted to be invisible. But most importantly, she wanted to know...

"Where's Kojiro?"

"We must have lost him in the transfer."

"....is he okay?"

She hugged herself, terrified. She didn't know where he was, Tsuke didn't know her. She didn't understand. Why would they be separated?

Tsuke looked around, trying to keep calm so he wouldn't worry Liang any further. People repeatedly bumped into him as they stood, pushing and shoving their way through. Tsuke took Liang's hand "We've gotta get out of the street" he shouted over the noise. Liang nodded as Tsuke led them from the busy road to a nearby alleyway. There they both stood quietly, Tsuke contemplating the situation in his head. However, when he looked up he no longer saw Liang's cheerful, sparkling eyes, he saw them closed, as tears began to flow.

Tsuke was never really good with his feelings, it hurt him to watch Liang cry, but he wasn't quite sure what to do. "I-It's gonna be alright you know, we'll come out of this ok. And as for Kojiro, he can take care of himself. You know that better then anyway right?" he spoke reassuringly. Liang nodded a little, wiping the tears from her face. Tsuke smiled at the sight of her regaining herself "Thats my girl" he spoke, laughing hesitantly. Liang smiled a bit bigger, the two embracing in a hug. When they seperated, Tsuke looked around, studying the area "Hiroshima...that name sounds so familiar." He suddenly regretted not paying attention in history class. He looked at Liang, scratching his head.

OOC: I wasn't sure if you wanted to do the explosion or not Liang so this was a bit short, just us getting to know each other.

Liang looked at him, disbelieving he hadn't heard of the worst tragedy to ever strike the Japanese. More demoralizing than the firebombing of Tokyo. More horrific than anything else ever inflicted in the entire war./

"Hiroshima is where the atomic bomb will be dropped."

"....fuck."

"And then Nagasaki. We'll be completely and totaly anihilated. Everyone here will die in horrific agony. They'll be burned alive, incinerated like Hitler burned the Jews."

".....but we're already dead."

"What's to say we won't be able to do it again? To suffer more?"

Liang hugged herself, glad for the silk that covered her body. For some reason she was suddenly very cold. Tsuke put an arm around her and they looked up. A clock across the street had the time. And Liang mentally reviewed the notes she had taken in all of the history classe she had ever had. She knew enough. More than she wanted to remember. And even knowing. Would only make her focus on what would happen. It was unavoidable.

People's faces were calm. Busy, hurried, like they had no idea hell was about to be unleashed upon them.

"They're all going to die. We're all going to feel it."

"What will it be like?"

"Our flesh. Will be singed from our bodies. Our skin will blister and crack open. There's no way we will get away from this without incredible agony."

Tsuke looked up at the sun. It seemed to hang in the sky, unmoving. Waiting for them to look away. The drone of a plane reached their ears. As if on cue, both looked up.

Tsuke's eyes examined the sky as to pinpoint the faint noise he'd just heard over the crowd of people cluttering the streets. Soon enough his eyes reached a small plane hovering over the town. He gasped "Shit, we gotta get outta here. C'mon!" he shouted grabbing Liang's hand and beginning to run from the scene. However, Liang stood still causing him to fall back suddenly. "What are you doing?!" he yelled once again.

Liang continued to stand quietly, gazing up at the sky. "We could never outrun it. We're gonna die, again..." Tsuke began to breathe franticly. He'd been through so much already, and he wouldn't be doing it again. However, his thoughts were interrupted by the sight of the large explosive device plummeting towards the ground. He could do nothing but watch as it fell steadily through the air and collided with the ground. An instant flash of light filled the air and disappeared as Tsuke watched the explosion flow towards him. Buildings lit afire and people fell to the ground, screaming in agony as the immense explosion engulfed the city.

However, when it reached Tsuke, he felt nothing. It seemed to pass through him as he continued to watch the pandemonium surrounding them. He looked to Liang, finding her in the same place as he. When the ground stopped shaking dust began to float lightly to the ground and settle around them. Offering a panoramic veiw of the chaos that had just ensued.

Rubble covered the ground, there was nothing left. Nothing but them. Their clothing was completely ruined, hanging from their bodies by threads. Tsuke looked around again, finding nothing at all. The light around them looked bizarre, unnatural, wavering.

The heat. It sucked the moisture straight from their bodies. Liang felt that they were standing in a place removed from the rest of the world. She knew from what she had learned that they were in another climate, created by the atomic bomb. She gripped Tsuke's hand even though their palms and fingers were bathed in sweat. It was unavoidable.

Eventually the sweat dripped into their eyes and blinded them. Liang ripped off her remaining clothing and dried her face and forehead. She couldn't handle it for much longer. She felt as though her skin was literally blistering and peeling away from her body. Thousands of lives extinguished in mere seconds, and they were left to fester on and on. When she spoke, her voice was a breathy whisper, her throat so parched she couldn't say more.

"We're going to bake to death, nevermind the radiation."

"....any survivors?"

"Nobody here. We're at Ground Zero Tsuke."

His voice was low, even though he was in slightly better condition than her. She cleared her throat and tried to form saliva in her mouth but nothing happened. Tsuke looked around quizically.

".....why are we still here though? What purpose can it serve?"

"You know what they say."

"No. What do they say?"

"If you can't take the heat, stay outta hell."

Tsuke managed a wry smile. The two kept walking over the rubble, looking for anything that would show them a way out of this intense agony.

As they walked Tsuke stumbled, finding it hard to walk over the cluttered ground. His eyes scanned the area around him, people moaned in agony crawling from the devastation. He felt helpless knowing he could do nothing for the people of Hiroshima. As they walked a hand grabbed his ankle from under the debris. He jumped slightly. A young attempted to pull herself from the ground, trapped under the pieces of her own him. Tsuke knelt before her, his hands gripping the edge of the large stone. He used all his might to lift it from her and throw it aside. He breathed heavily as he reached out his hand to help the girl up. Her rough bloody hand took his as she rose to her feet and ran away silently.

Tsuke turned to Liang who smiled "That was a nice thing you did." Tsuke shrugged "I couldn't just leave her there." And with that a door seemed to appear from nowhere, it looked as though it was made of a sturdy oak. Tsuke examined it "I think this is our way out of here" he inquired. Liang nodded in agreement "I think so too, I just don't know why we were sent here, what was the point." Tsuke shrugged again "I'm not quite sure, but theres definitely something be hind all this, I can feel it..."
