Motoko will win this one. Lacus Clyne is pretty popular with Gundam Seed fans, but The Major has a fanbase even among Ghost in the Shell haters.

Motoko, definiately! She kicks ***! Her only problem is that she doesn't like the awesome Tachikomas. But we can forgive that, right? Lacus? Well... she sings. And she has a stupid idea on how to bring about peace. You might even say that she's a mellowed out version of Relena Peacecraft. Eh, Lacus is cute, but I like Cagalli more. I like Motoko more on looks as well.

Anyway, I voted for Lacus. It was a tough decision, because I'm not that partial to either character. While I've seen more of SAC than Gundam SEED, there are some characters in SAC I prefer to Motoko (such as Batou and poor Togusa, who always gets shunted off to the side or overshadowed by his superiors). She's an iconic character, but I think that's mainly because she represents the original GitS movie and the weird cyberpunk grittiness which seems to draw people to it. On her own, she's just a competent and cool-headed lady--nothing really out of the ordinary, personality-wise.

Lacus, meanwhile, has this great Aeris Gainsborough vibe going on. And that alone makes me kind of favor her. I have a love-hate relationship with Hisashi Hirai's character designs, but I think he did a great job of making her unique (or, at the very least, different from his other characters, many of whom tend to look like clones of each other).

Personally, I think Lacus is better. She may not be as strong as Kusanagi physically, but I really admire her courage and spirit. She led a much needed side in a battle when no one else would and she fought not with violence, but with pursuasion until violance became nessesary. Yes, Kusanagi kich ***, but Lacus is awesome ^^

Well, I vote for Lacus Clyne because I think she has more of an appealing look than Motoko Kusinagi...muscular women just ain't my thing :animesmil I love a women with a gun though :animesmil

My vote is for Motoko Kusanagi because she is physically and mentally stronger than Lacus Clyne. The Major is more in tune with herself and will never give up on her goal. Lacus is an ok character, but she is more of a voice of reason.

I voted for Lacus cause although she isn't as strong as Motoko, she is more femine. She's a caring and intelligent character and easy to like. Where as Motoko wears the skimpy outfits but in the series you never know if she is actually a guy considering her cybernetic body could be in any style she chooses, at Batou points out through out the series.

I think overall I have to give it to Lacus. She has a much sweeter and sincere demener to her. She's very open and expressive and I, Personally, admire that. The Motoko seems much more detached and self-isolating, thats why Lacus gets the vote from me
