I think much better time could have been spent on some of the other characters (Ryo, perhaps) rather than poor comic relief. But it's not even as if they were integral to the main events of the storyline anyway. Although I suppose you do need some characters who just move the incidental scenes along. I just wish they'd been a bit... nicer, really. Along similar lines, it probably wouldn't have made any difference if Armadillomon was in Digimon Adventure 2 or not. But that's something I'm actually annoyed about, cause I like him. He must have had the least screentime out of all the new digimon and hardly got a chance to do anything else. [/QUOTE]If it wasn't for Hercule, then Vegeta would have died a second time, Buu would have destroyed Earth without unleashing Evil Buu, and Cell would have destroyed Earth before Buu 'cause Hercule tossed Android #16's head to Gohan. Hercule is not a pointless character. He is just there for comic relief. While we're on the subject of Dragonball Z, another useless character is Chaoutzu. To my knowledge, the only thing he actually did was try to kill Nappa and failed...miserably. He almost literally plays no role in any plot progression major or minor. He's just there. Always there. Watching. Waiting. Planning. Only to realize that Onizuka would kick his *** if he tried anything. And that Urumi and Kikuchi would get him if Onizuka didn't. That's why he always kept his mouth shut. Now you know. As a movie, it was fine, but the writers should definately not have put Garlic Jr Saga into the series because it destroyes GT. :animeangr Garlic Jr, as most of you would know, can no longer die because of the wish he made to Shenron. By bringing this into the show, the total number of wishes made to the Dragon Balls become [B]8[/B]. However, in GT, the dark dragons come to life because of the negative energy made by the wishes [B]PER BALL[/B]. There are only [B]7[/B] Dragon Balls! Not [B]8[/B]! :mad: Garlic Jr Saga just destroys the feeling that Dragon Ball/Z/GT could happen in real life (yes, I know it can't) beacuse of a human error :animecry: . Think back to the beginning episodes; she's the one who [spoiler]risks everything, including her own life, to protect Yusuke's body and help bring him back. Even some of the main charecters seem a little pointless. Like Manta just stands around doing nothing except screaming his head off and being kidnapped. I know everyone's gonna hate me for this but Hilary from beyblade is also very pointless. She helps out a little in the second season but in the third she does nothing except wear short skirts.
