silpheedpilot
A mother and child are almost inseperable until a certain age, when one loses the other they go on living but on a very different scale. Some cope with it and move on with only their memories and some grow older; changed. Such was the case for a certain boy and his mother. This is their story... "Mom..Where do people go when they pass on?" a young boy the age of 8 asked to his mother who was putting him to bed with a kiss on the forehead and a quick tuck of the covers. "To a happier place than here, Beck." the mothers' response only stirred up more questions in the boy but for now it was his bed time. The boy quickly fell asleep to sweet dreams of a 'happier place than here.' The world was in ruins, a nuclear holocaust shook the world many years before and once great cities were turned to rubble, great fields of crops were reduced to ashes. From those ashes rose gangs, factions and even monstrosities. Life after death truly HAD to be happier than here. Not too long after the boy had fallen asleep he was awoken by a terrible sound that he had been accustomed to hearing in his short 8 years of life thus far. A gunshot. The boy quickly got out of bed and ran to his doorway, there he peeked out just far enough to see what was going on. "If there is anyone else in here, we will find them. Make it easier on yourself and tell us where they are because we have reason to believe you are mothering a 'chosen one'' an iron-clad soldier with a mask radiating a red glow from the eyes spoke in a muffled voice, he held a pistol and two other just like him stood at his right and left flank, they too were holding weapons but they carried rifles. The boy couldn't tear himself away from the sight and continued to watch. "P-please...I h-have no idea...what yo-you're t-talking about!" the mother spoke quickly, with a shaky voice. There were no visible gunshot wounds so the boy assumed they blasted the door open. The soldier and the mother argued feverishly for a few minutes and then suddenly mother was shot dead by the head soldier who then ordered his companions into the house to search. The boy tore himself from the peep-hole and scampered around in his room for a place to hide, the soldiers were almost at his room when he heard a squeak in the floorboards. The boy quickly but silently lifted the floorboards and hid under them. After what seemed like hours the soldiers gave up and left the house, leaving the mother dead at the front door. The following morning the boy climbed out of the floor and went to his mother where he cradled her and screamed for help. Many years later... "Sire, the Black Horde has made an advance towards our base. What will we do?" an finely dressed gentleman said to a shadowed figure sitting at a throne resting upon a rasied platform. The figure stood up and walked into the light, he stood towering above all despite his platform. He was dressed in a white over-coat adorned with many buckles, his upper-body was covered in a black shirt with armor plates protecting his chest, his legs were covered in black pants that slightly bagged at the knees due to his knee-high boots which were also plated. The figure's face was hardly seen because he wore half of his silverish hair in the way of his face the other side was bare but he wore sun-glasses on his eyes. One would know he was the leader. "Gerard...I want you to send our secret weapon to deal with the on-going threat." the leader spoke to the finely dressed man, Gerard, in a calm, collected demenor. "Aye, sire. But is that really safe, sending the new Psy-Soldiers? As a friend, Beck, won't you re-consider?" Gerard spoke in a true worrying tone but turned on his heel as Beck nodded for him to continue. They're ready...I'll even join them in battle to gauge their skills Beck thought to himself as he stepped down from his platform. Beck turned his hand, palm up and large purple mass of energy formed in his hand. Beck quickly dispelled the energy and left the throne room. Beck, known only as that and leader of the Ragnorok Corps., the only gang or faction or whatever you wish to call them that can stand up to the Black Horde, the ones who took his mothers life many years ago. This is his tale of vengence and anger. Through the use of his newly created Psy-Soldiers he intends to cut a swath through the Black Hordes ranks and finally avenge his mother by murdering Albatross, the iron-clad soldier who personally shot Beck's mother dead. Beck indeed was a 'chosen one' as he can call upon Psychic powers to aid him, while the rest of the ruined world relies on guns and weapons Beck can launch waves of energy from the palms of his hands, or tear up the ground underneath him to create a shield around his body. Beck's Psychic powers surpass what any weapon can do and every Psy-Soldier in his army can do what he can do, and more... That is Beck's story.. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sign-Up ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Name: {Whatever. Kitty
Name: Angelina LaClaire Age: 27 Appearance: Click Here Bio: ".. A wise man once told me, as I passed him on the street, that shadows are harder to see if you're too focused on the sunlight. At the time, I had no idea what he was talking about. Yet.. I look back on it now. And it was true. All too true.." Angelina sighed as she finished reading the journal entry. All of the passages seemed to grow shorter and shorter as it neared the final one. She was tempted to skip them all and just read the last page, but that wouldn't help her. "Must be patient.. Mom always told me to be patient." The book she held in her hands was once the diary of an aging woman named Madeline LaClaire, Angelina's late mother. Every entry she read taught her more and more about her mother. Things she could never imagine were troubling her during her life, and the little things, that Angelina never gave much thought to, brought her so much joy. Angelina paused as she reminisced. She thought of the old days. The easy days, where she could run around playfully with Edd, her young puppy, while her mother cheerfully squirted her softly with the hose. She doesn't remember her father. He died soon after she turned four, and her mother never talked about his death, so Angelina didn't know how he died. She grew up for a few months without him until her younger sister, May was born. For some reason, Angelina cannot remember the days before her sister was born, which is why she can't remember her father at all. She grew up with May and her mother, and all was peaceful. Well, as peaceful as a post-apocolyptic world could be. Her family was harrassed often, and moved against their will several times. When Angelina turned 16, and May was about to turn 12, their mother passed away for unknown reasons. Angelina was given her diary, and the two now orphans were shipped into the local orphanage, and Edd was sent to the shelter. May was always shy, and the new local just made her sink even further into seclusion. Angelina, however, grew into a very loud-mouthed rebel during her days at the orphanage. She was free to leave at the age of 18, and took her sister with her. May, only 14, was growing more anti-social by the day, and so she became more and more dependant on Angelina. Angelina never complained about this, but worried for May's future. She wouldn't be able to survive such a demanding world by being dependant. One tragic day a few years of barely managing to survive later, Angelina's home was raided by Black Horde soldiers, and she and her sister were seperated. Angelina managed to escape those trying to capture her, but May, still weak and submissive, was easily taken away. That day was Angelina's 21st birthday. Angelina dedicated herself to finding her sister, but never could infiltrate Black Horde HQ, nor track down the soldiers who had taken her away. Soon, she heard of a group called the Ragnorok Corps. who were opposing the Black Horde. She immediately went in search of them. When she found them, she was tested, accepted, and offered a part in a new program. Eager to accept, Angelina spent the night before her transformation reading her mother's diary, which she had always kept with her. Angelina slowly finished the page she was on. Taking a glance at the book before her, she noticed that there was only one page left. Her hand quivering a bit, she turned the page quite slowly. Staring at the page, she noticed it had only a few lines on it. "To my dearest daughters.Know that I love you. If you are reading this, than either I am indeed gone, or you're searching through my things again! You will find the answers you seek. There are many hints hidden in these pages, but you must answer all your questions on your own. I know you will find them. You two are smart girls. Good luck. And see you soon." Angelina paused. "'And see you soon?'" she repeated quietly to herself. "Could she--" Loud knocking interrupted her thought. "Ms. Angelina, it's time," said a rough, but kind voice from behind the door. "Coming," she replied, stuffing the diary into the pillowcase on her bed. She opened the door and followed the gruff man away, all the time thinking of the last line. "And see you soon" Psychic powers: [Awaiting PM/IM]
