[SIZE=1]The dark, hunched figure trudged slowly along the long, winding path. Dust kicked up around his feet, blowing away into clouds of sandy brown particles. Strong winds blew at him, throwing his dark hair into wild shapes, and throwing dust into his eyes. He merely blinked and continued walking, oblivious to the pain that the dust caused.

His tattered cloak flapped in the wind, wrapping round him as the wind howled around him. He trudged on, seeing the light he had missed for so many centuries. It beamed out upon him, warming him from the biting cold that coursed through this place. He struggled towards it, stumbling slightly, distracted by the warmth which now shrouded him. He smiled, forcing his feet those final few steps towards the light.

He stepped into the light, and immediately his surroundings changed. Instead of the long, dark expanse and the dusty road of the purgatory he had previously inhabited, he was now in a bustling metropolis, people rushing backwards and forwards, trying to get to where they needed to be. They were dressed in suits and clothes unfamiliar to the man. He blinked, his eyes gradually adjusting to the bright light.

This was it. Finally, he had escaped. He had returned to Earth, and this would be the time and place for his new rise to power. He would rule this Earth, and no-one would stand in his way?

Backstory:

Centuries ago, there was a council who protected humankind from all evil, whether it was man-made or other-worldly. This council was named the Priory of Gabriel. They were made up of powerful warriors and mages, capable of defeating any sort of man-made or demonic threat. They protected mankind, and in return, mankind offered them a sacrifice every four years, needed to keep the great Beast fed.

The Beast was created by God as personal protection. Any threat that rose to threaten God, the Beast destroyed it. But then, it turned on God, for reasons unknown to anyone. It almost destroyed God and the rest of the universe in its battle against Him, but was sealed, by His power, in the Earth. He created the Priory of Gabriel to make sure that the Beast never broke free.

Then, just two centuries ago, a man rose. He had great power, and was believed, by the Priory as well as all the rest of mankind, to be the greatest link to God they had witnessed since Jesus Christ. He was sent by God to protect them, and heal them, and forgive them of their wrongdoings. They were wrong.

This being, known only as The Guardian, had been created by God, but corrupted by the Beast, and he was on Earth to free the Beast. In their final battle, the Priory managed to defeat him, sealing him for eternity in Purgatory, a place between Heaven, Earth and Hell. But this victory came at a price. The Priory was almost completely destroyed, their members all but wiped out.

But now, in the early 22nd Century, the Guardian has escaped, and he is here to perform the task he was originally supposed to do. He is here to release the Beast from its prison.

The only ones who can stop him are the Priory, reformed from what was left after the Great Battle. They have been in hiding for years, prophesising that one day the Guardian would return and free the Beast. That day has come, and the Priory must reveal themselves and fight against the Guardian.

Name: Ache Achilles
Age: appox. 8,500
Gender: Male
Appearance: 5' 9, dark skinned, black hair, dark eyes. He wears whatever the uniform of the soldier or nation he is fighting for wears. When fighting alone, or not in hiding he wears a plated chest piece that is tinted red--said to be an eternal mark of his profession. His leggings or battle skirt is black. On the third figer of his right hand he wears a signet ring, giving him divine permission to cause one nation to declare war on another.
Personality: He is very militaristic, and what humor he has is battle humor. The kind that isn't very realistic, and only a soldier who has seen too much of reality already would laugh at it.
He expects things to be done, done quickly, and done correctly. However, he is very kind, and very caring. He prays often, and can generally be located in a church, chapel or monestary.
Class: Fighter
Bio: Labeled a holy warrior throughout his public life, Ache has always maintained an persona drenched in nuances of righteousness. He has no Mage skills whatsoever, but his physical prowess(given to him by God to make him the patron guardian of righteous soldiers like himself) is beyond criticism.
His latter name was given to him by a Greek comrade during the seige of a long forgotten city. The man then known as Ache Lesess saved him from being crushed by the hammer of a fellow Greek. The friend from then forward called him Achilles, to make his name more Greek. Ache adopted Achilles as his second name.
For centuries he wove himself into combat to fight alongside good men and protect them from the evil that would bring them down. It was through him that God enabled nations to be both saved, and destroyed.
However, after the Great Battle, he went into hiding like all the other members of the Priory. As he often says "I never fell from grace...only from courage." He chose a life of peace in a monestary, where the monks all soon became aware of exactly who and what he was.
Now he is protected by those monks until the day when many of them believe he will rediscover the warrior God placed inside of him.
Weapon(s): A Judaic shortsword, a Spanish broadsword, and a 19th century sabre. One for every major era of conflict in his existance.
Powers: He is a master swordsman and accomplished hand-to-hand fighter. He can also move undetected in almost any enviroment.

Age: 500 (estimate)

Gender: Female

Appearance: Olive skin, black hair with red streaks and crimson eyes. Slender, she always wears a long, black coat and black boots. She has a red tatoo that no one ever sees an her left shoulder given to her by God. On her face she has two markings said to signify her evil and pure sides. She has amazing battle abilities and moves with unmached speed.

Personality: She is dark and sarcastic. She is down to earth and is constantly making jokes about other people. In battle, her train of thought never leaves the fight ahead. She is very brilliant and great at forming battle tactics. Although sometimes she seems rude Sade is very trustworthy and always sticks up for her true friends. Tough and somewhat 'creepy', she has a soft-spot for humans in general.

Class: Warrior Mage

Bio: Along time ago she was sent to earth by God to help the humans destroy powerful demons that had been unleashed. For two long years she fought in a great war, then in the middle of her 3rd year God sent angels to bring her to heaven.

When she was there she was sentenced for a crime she hadn't commited. They told her she would slumber until the great battle begun and she was once again needed. They put her in a forsaken chamber atop an unknown mountain in a remote area of Earth. There she rest.

Now, she has reawaken to the present time. She seeks vengence and justice to be done on the devil himself. Although her memories and reputation of Earth has long since past she won't rest until she feels all is right with the world. Beware.

Weapons: A sword which holds the power of flame. A SAVAGE hand gun, a bow and arrow.

Powers: Fighting techniques are unhuman. She can use all of her weapons like no one else. She has the power of a Mage and a special ability of fire from her sword, Blood-Biter.[/COLOR]

[B]Appearance:[/B] Sliver-grayish hair that is spiked up and sky blue eyes. Wears white dress shirt and black slacks and leather shoes. On top of that, he wears a black trench coat.

[B]Personality:[/B] He's usually gulible. He just listens to orders every now and then. He is sometimes lazy and other times not. He tends to think a lot and likes to talk. He's open-minded and likes to copliment people. He may be a bit shy but he's a great guy.

[B]Bio:[/B] Serving under God wasn't a bad thing for him until he was kidnapped from the other side and punished. He was beaten up and tied down. It was the worst thing he had ever been to but then soon after some years the men died from an unknown disease and Dean survived. He escaped and arrived to this World and now works as a businessman, trying to cover up his secret but still serving under God. He is a busy man but no one knows who he really is.

[SIZE=1]Ok, everyone so far is in, I'm just hoping for a few more sign ups and then we'll begin, and I know I have a couple more people interested. However, Me and You can you add a little more detail to your Bio. In the meantime here are the profiles for my character, the Beast and the Guardian.

[U][B]My Character[/B][/U]

[B]Name[/B]: Jaxx

[B]Age[/B]: 1,000 (Rough estimate)

[B]Gender[/B]: Male

[B]Appearance[/B]: Jaxx is a tall, handsome young(looking) man. His hair is jet-black, with small streaks of red and it is spiked up slightly. He is around 6'7", broad shouldered, and he wears a black long-sleeved shirt with a leather armour plate over the chest. His trousers are made of canvas-like material, and he wears large black boots, with specially-cushioned soles, making it easy for him to jump and land comfortably. He has a scar on his left hand, which he usually covers up with a black leather glove.

[B]Personality[/B]: Jaxx is a dark, brooding, revenge-fuelled man, driven by his hatred of the Guardian. He will stop at nothing to defeat him, and takes no crap from anybody who stands in his way. He is not much liked by his fellow Warrior Mage, Sade, because he has changed so much. He used to be lively, friendly, easy-going, but then he was badly wounded by the Guardian. This drove him to become the man he is today.

[B]Class[/B]: Warrior Mage

[B]Bio[/B]: Born to a Mage and a Warrior of the Priory, Jaxx was raised as a devout member of the council. He was taught how to fight from a young age, and soon rose above everybody else in his combat classes. It was when he was top of the class that it was discovered that he had some magical ability as well. He was trained by his mother, a high-ranking Mage in the Priory, and after several years of hard graft, he became the first Warrior Mage, training others to become like him.

When he turned 700, he commanded a crack team of Warrior Mages, sent in to deal with any large-scale emergency quickly and efficiently. It was because of this that they were put on the front line in the Great Battle. Jaxx fought against the Guardian, and his squad was almost completely wiped out. Only a badly-wounded Jaxx and two others remained. One of the others was killed by a traitor to the Priory, who was subsequently executed by the last remaining healthy Warrior Mage, Sade.

Jaxx was nursed slowly back to health over a few hundred years, and is now as healthy as he was the day he was born, even though he is over 1,000 years old. He now fights the Guardian for revenge, and trains harder and harder every day to defeat him.

[B]Name[/B]: The Guardian (true name Akans'holla Jakar'manular Kranso'Thanak)

[B]Age[/B]: Unknown (rumoured to have been around since the beginning of time)

[B]Gender[/B]: Male

[B]Personality[/B]: Two words: pure evil.

[B]Class[/B]: n/a

[B]Bio[/B]: Sent to Earth by God, the Guardian was supposed to be a bringer of peace and wellbeing to all mankind. But those with true great power are easily corrupted, and the Guardian was corrupted by one of the two beings in the universe more powerful than him. He was corrupted by the Beast. He was drawn to the side of pure evil and turned against those he was created to protect.

He fought against the Priory of Gabriel for many long years, in a battle that was known as the Great Battle. He killed thousands of humans, but was eventually stopped and sealed in Purgatory by the most powerful of the Priory's Mages.

For thousands of years he wandered the astral plane, neither material nor immaterial, neither living nor dead.

But now, he has escaped into the modern world, and will stop at nothing to awaken the Beast.

[B]Weapon[/B]: The Sword of the Beast, the most powerful weapon known to man and god alike. He wields it with expert precision, and when he fights with it, he cannot be stopped.

[B]Powers[/B]: Immense psychic and dark magic powers, more powerful than ever before.

[B]Name[/B]: The Beast (its true name is unpronuncable by the human tongue)

[B]Age[/B]: As old as God himself

[B]Appearance[/B]: Unknown-no-one has ever seen anything more than a small physical projection of the Beast's true form.

[B]Personality[/B]: Again, the Beast is simply pure evil

[B]Class[/B]: n/a

[B]Bio[/B]: Springing into existence just a few days after God, the Beast was sealed almost instantly in an impenetrable prison. God made sure it could never escape by placing the Priory of Gabriel on Earth to stop it. There have been attempts to release it, but they have usually ended up with the summoner bursting into flames.

But then, the Guardian was placed on Earth by God. The Beast saw this as a brilliant opportunity, and set about corrupting the Guardian. This took many long years, but he was eventually turned. Ever since he turned, he has done nothing except try to destroy the Priory and release the Beast. However, all of his attempts have failed.

But now, in the year 2109, the Guardian has been freed from Purgatory, and will once again try to release the Beast.
