Otaku America
Hi, I've been searching for an anime forum for such a long time and to come across this website is such a breath of fresh air. Outside of Adultswim and this site, all other anime forums are dead. I left Adultswim because most of the users there have no respect for anime. All they expect from anime are blood, gore, & action. :animenose Overthere, Dragonball Z is hailed as the greatest action series of all time. I have no problem with that but if all the posts say "Wowzers, the fireballs are so cool," then there is something wrong with that especially if DBZ is the most repetitive action show of all time. This is an example of lazy anime. :animesigh You guys are different. I've been on these forums for a few hours now and I've seen lots of great dicussions and debates. I like the fact that when someone post their favorite anime, they also go into great details on why it's their favorite. Great way to keep threads going and to keep spam out. :D
James
Thank you for the compliment. I like to think that our level of "strictness" actually helps to block out the less intelligent stuff. At the very least, we like to foster an environment that encourages higher quality posting. So it's nice to know that there are people out there who appreciate what we try to offer. ^_^
Bloodseeker
Last time I checked, DBZ was almost as disliked on AS as it is on the rest of the net. Its rare to see them praising it. And what's wrong with loving action? Even the deepest anime gets boring if there's no action or comedy to keep the story moving. But yeah, this is a good forum. (I'm still here, right?) Thanks to the rules here, you rarely run across posts that contain little to no substance. People here tend to keep their mouths shut unless they actually have something meaningful to say. And while I wouldn't call this place a hot wire, this anime forum isn't near as dead as some of the others that I've ran across.
2010DigitalBoy
Well, I think a good reason that these forums are so good is because everyone knows each other. I may have only been here for 6 months or so.. (man, Im the new guy everywhere I go) but these guys have been here for years. Also, we all seem to be literary geniuses, prodiges if you will... I would also like to thanks James and Adam for these great boards...
Charles
And I also think that these boards will someday be related to curing cancer. I've been using the forums since 2001 and I've not developed cancer yet. Coincidence? I think not. Thanks James and Adam!

My brain tumour has actually decreased in size since I started using OB. It was a damn relief, I tell ya.
Sol-Blade
Yeah I'd like to think that, this forum has actually raised my IQ. Anyways, I've already praised the forum many times before, I don't need to do it again. ;)
Gavin
I've always thought that Otakuboards is, in my own experience the best run and maintained anime-related boards on the web. At this stage you could even argue that it's only fractionally related to anime, due to the fact that it represents only one small section of the discussion and role-playing subject matter on the site.
Coincidence? I think not.
Heh that sounds exactly like the line Robin Williams used when he was talking about his and Billy Connolly's drinking habit. SunfallE
Well I'm pretty sure I've commented on what a great place this is before, but now that I've been a member for just a little over two months I look back and realize that it's far more amazing that I could have ever anticipated. At first I enjoyed it as the people posting here were having actual discussions instead of the usual, one word, broken english or other spamming I saw on most of the forums I had been to. As Otaku America put it. It was definately a breath of fresh air. But then I started to explore a little further into the other aspects of Otaku. Like theOtaku and myOtaku. theOtaku is absoutely amazing with all the stuff you have access to: Articles, Cosplay, e-cards, Fan Art, Quizzes, Reviews and Wallpapers. I love checking out the new info and stuff there. ^_^ myOtaku is also absoutely amazing. Once I figured out how some of the stuff worked, having an online journal that you share with friends and family is so much fun! I don't think there are words capable of describing just how amazing this place is. In many ways, it's like an online community and family that you didn't even realize existed. So to those of you who created this amazing place you have my eternal grattitude. ^_^
Annie
Right on, right on. I joined Adult Swim a long time ago. It was so unorganized and disfucntional (for my tastes), I left after maybe two or three posts. I don't even remember my username there. The members were not only disrespectful to anime, but to other members. I posted in a Trigun thread, and got attacked--well, an attempted attack--by some little twirp who declared Inuyasha pwns all anime. I was a member of the OB before I signed up for AS, and I'm amazed with the OB's quality. Even being a member after 2 years, I'm just awed by the people, and the environment. I've been to many other boards, and am a member of a few others, but none can compare to what James has going here. And the best has yet to come.
Petie
I tend to agree with what everyone is saying here. The general consensus seems to be that the strictly modded boards add to the overall quality of the site which I agree with. I don't think taking a little time to look over your post is too much to ask. I've been a member here for a while now and I've yet to find a better forum anywhere. I've been a member of a few but this by far is the top on my list. Nice job to everyone involved in keeping it maintained!

I use to post on AO (Animeonline.net) before it went downhill, now people talk like this "YAH I totally PWN you N00bs" is most of the conversation and somehow led me to this forum by accident. I haven't really left since. I even tried out Minitokyo.net, and thats the most repetitive forum ever with no bases besides "Whats your fav anime?" It's really important to not just care about the number of members you have, and more about the content thats within it. That's what AO use to be about until they went bad. Please don't ever become like them. Oh and by the way OB has cured my...oh well maybe you don't want to know.
