Writing Lost Child of Heaven

In the night of the new moon, the wind chilled the trees as it flew pass. the night time sky darken the land as creatures, human and beast slept. The river in near the village raged down the hill to the end, which poured out into to a lake that was stil as a statue though the ponding water came from above. Then as if lightening struck the the lake, a light appeared and glowed above the water. The light flated ontop fo the water, then shaping itself into a thin figure. A face appeared, then the body. It was a women she was dress in white and her feathered wings spread across the lake and she looked up. then sighing a deep and mornful sigh she fell into the water.
A passer in the woods saw this. he came running to help her. he jumped in the ice cold lake and swam deep into the pitch black water. He couldnt see them, then as if reading his mind. he saw a light appear before him and a small bundle floated to him. he grapped it with his weightless arms and smam back to the top.
He gasp for breath and looked around for the girl he had saw, but there was no trace of her. He then open the bundle and saw a small child curled up sleep, not awaken by the water, or what happened. he smiled at the child then swimming to land, he walked back into the forrest, not aware that he was being watched the whole way.

eleven years pass:

"Dawn!" called a smooth and kind voice
