Dragon Warrior
It took place long ago. A world coasted with forests of trees and seas of crisp and beautiful water. The world of Roanledge lived on in peace and prosperity. The inhabitants of this land worked hard every day to keep themselves happy and busy. And of course, there was the scum that dared to wander the same fields as the innocent. This scum was sworn off the land by a warrior of unmatchable abilities and skill, wielding an amazingly heroic sword and shield that were his trademarks. This hero was Toloose. His legend shall forever live on, even after what people believed to be his uncanny death while fighting the Flaming Beast of Boharama in the South Mountains of Tobarith. But some wisemen thought they knew better. Nevertheless, the sword and shield were lost with Toloose?s perished form. Only his one companion and true loyal friend, Wendull, knew of his whereabouts, but was suffering a nasty illness caused by the mountain air of Tobarith. He inscribed a map before dying a few days after returning to the small village of Alecynth. The map was written in old tongue and was unreadable by anyone in the village. It was instead sent by a man on horse across the countryside in search of a skilled cartographer who was versed in this ancient language. If this horseman finds the right man or woman for the job, perhaps they can uncover the sword and shield of the fallen hero Toloose? or even more importantly, finds Toloose himself. But what scum lies on the journey across Roanledge we?re soon to find out. ? ? ? ? ? ? ? Welcome to the whimsical tale of a cartographer (map maker) named Philippe Wintassel and his incredible journey accompanied by four others in search of the lost sword and shield of Toloose. As mentioned above, there are bad guys in this (of course) and they will be like a woodland mafia. Robbers, crooks, murderers, you name it. When signing up, you are one of the four companions of Philippe?s, which includes the horseman who arrives with the map. Just take into consideration all the things I?m about to say and make sure you follow the rules of the RPG and the forum. Thank you. If You?re Playing The Horseman: The horseman can be male or female, it matters not. They work for the Council of Roanledge who sent them to find a skilled cartographer. That?s all you must keep in mind. They?re a messenger for the Council of Roanledge. If You?re Playing The Other Three: These people will be citizens of Philippe?s village. It?s a fairly large village for Roanledge, so they must be somehow trained in fighting. Guarding their village in an attack from an enemy is what they may help with when the time comes. You can?t be a little kid who just got his first tooth and expect to kick some major patoosh out there. EVERYONE: Everyone is competing for a spot in this RPG. I?m not going to be as strict as I have been in the past, but I would like good quality stuff here, nevertheless. This includes checking your grammar and spelling before posting, people! ? ? ? ? ? ? ? The Sign Up Name: Make it medieval like how I have with all the previous names mentioned. No Japanese. Age: No kids. Philippe is twenty-eight. You don?t have to be that old, but I prefer twenties and up, please. No kid would set out on a dangerous mission like this. Gender: If you?re a girl, play a girl. If you?re a guy, play a guy. Please. Occupation: If you?re the horseman, put ?Messenger for Council of Roanledge.? Otherwise, you?re free to make a town occupation. There?s a link at the bottom of this post for a site with medieval occupations. Great source! Appearance: It?s a poor town, so chances are you won?t be dressed for success. If you?re a lowlife like a blacksmith, you?ll probably be in rags. If you?re a thief, definitely rags. A town guard might have some nicer clothes and not so raggedy. Think about it. Use some common sense. Personality: What are they like, dude? Any Other Information: This doesn?t have to necessarily be history of the character. Perhaps you want to reveal some history in the RPG, so? here just add in anything you think is appropriate to know about your character. Length here will not decide whether you get in or not, so don?t worry about how much content you place. ? ? ? ? ? ? ? Philippe?s Sign Up Name: Philippe Wintassel (pronounced Fuh-Leep Wintassel) Age: Twenty-Eight Gender: Male Appearance: He wears the same thing daily since he doesn?t make too much money in his village for crafting maps (no one really goes anywhere and no one really comes to his town). His normal apparel consists of a white poet?s shirt, a black-brown vest, a long green robe, brown pants, and rotting black cloth boots. He?s young, but his hair is beginning to go from a dark brown to a lighter brown. His features still look young, but he often has a stern expression. Personality: Philippe is one of the most generous and gentlemanly citizens of his village. He may even do the right thing when the consequences on himself are extremely high. He?s twenty-eight, but acts as wise as a man in his old age and always seems to be a commanding leader. He?d make a great father if he ever bothered to marry and have kids, but his busy life over parchment and ink (though he hardly sells any maps) has kept him away from such matters. He always tries to please and works hard, though it seems he?s never having fun. He should get more of a life. Any Other Information: His work as a cartographer in his small town doesn?t really profit, but since he?s so kind to some citizens, he gets by from the kindness given back. Though he hates it when people do such a thing. He swears to become more famous across Roanledge because he believes he has the skills to become a grand map maker. His chance finally rises when his abilities are needed to find the legendary sword and shield of Toloose. ? ? ? ? ? ? ? That?s all. Good luck to you all and we?ll see how things turn out. A link to some Medieval Occupations. DragonBlood
Ah, another great RPG idea by Dragon Warrior. Name: Charles Featherhand Age: 26 Gender: Male Occupation: Accipitrary (Falconer) Appearance: Charles wears ruff and ragged cloth pants and a leather vest. He has a leather glove on his right hand and lower arm. He also wears a cotton shirt and Leather boots. His beard is short and his hair is long, blonde, and unruly. His eyes are blue, and his features are sharp. He is well built and strong. Personality: Charles is not always the greatest person to be around. At times he can see the worst possible outcome of any situation. But all around he is a good guy, who likes adventure. He takes life as it comes; living day by day, but usually has some sort of short term plan, like trying to get some food for the week. Any Other information: Charles works for the town guard. He always has his falcon with him, and doesn?t actually live any place in particular, often found sleeping on roofs. He is a well know character who likes children and women. Samsquamch
Yay... Randomness! Name: Bertuzzi Koalwood Age: 34 Gender: Male Occupation: Anchorite Appearance: Bertuzzi Personality: Bertuzzi is mysterious for the sake of mysteriousness. He likes to, but often fails, to talk in mysterious sentances. The one thing he enjoys more than talking like that is forcing his knowladge, as he is very knowladgeable, down other peoples throats. Unfortunatly, the two traits often get in eachothers way. Other Information: Bertuzzi, having spent alot of years alone in the wild as a hermit, learned to defend himself with his staff and his hand-to-hand combat skills. Also, since he got tired of being away from everyone, he moved into a tall tower ABOVE the city, as to retain his Anchorite status, whilest being able to see other human beings. He is often visited by people who, upon hearing rumors, head to the top of the tower in seek of knowladge. They usually leave dissatisfied. Retribution
*Crosses fingers* I hope I make it. ^_^Name: Charles Crowne Age: 29 Gender: Male Occupation: Alblastere - crossbow man Appearance: Charles is a very average man, standing at 5'7", and weighing 150 pounds. His brown hair is too curly for its own good, and ends up getting in his brown eyes more often than not. Before becoming a town-guard, he wore a 9-year-old cloak, brown in color from the years of dirt accumulation, and a patched-together green pair of pants, with a olive long-sleeve-shirt to match. His shirt being a hint to small for him. As one could imagine, as soon as he layed hand on his new uniform, he threw it on and never took it off. Who could blame him? It consists of a long, crimson robe, and a thin layer of chainmail underneath of it, with the crest of the town prominently showing on his chest for all to see. He wears it with pride, trying his best to keep it clean, hoping he won't look poor. Personality: Cynical and judgemental, he can be expected to snap off snyde remarks at anything and everything. From what is for dinner, to if he'll survive, he is a pessimist, expecting the worst, but not ever preparing for the best. He is always for saving a fair damsel in distress -- that is assuming you could convice him she is indeed a damsel, and in distress. Any Other Information: Charles grew up poor in the town, much like everyone else, and aspired to become a silversmith. His father, however, had much different plans for him, and forced him to guard the city, saying that they'd die if he didn't. His young, impressionable mind believed him wholeheartedly. It was until it was too late when he recognized he had been horribly duped, and henceforth grew sour with cynicism, daring not to trust so fully again.
Kitty
Geeez.. So many guys... @_@ Name: Lilian (Lily) Eerine [Ear-in] Age: 25 Gender: Female Occupation: CHARWOMAN - cleaning woman Appearance: Lilian stands fairly tall, at 5'6", and weighs a bit under 120 lbs. She has glowing green eyes that contrast with her soft facial features. She has long brown hair that reaches down to her hips, and usually ties it back in a braid. She is normally clothed in a long, faded sky-blue dress that is torn slightly near her ankles, with short sleeves, and a few sewn on flower patterns around the center. It's cut very modestly, but does show off her somewhat subtle curves. Since she cleans for three or four upperclass women, her raggedy dress is usually dirty. She also has a large shirt and pair of old pants she made herself, but doesn't wear them often since her mother looks down upon her looking like a boy. Personality: Lilian is kind and willing to help out, but gets easily bored, and is usually impatient. She'll speak her mind to anyone at anytime, except to her parents. She has a habit of wanting to solve everything with a fist fight, but is normally denied. Lilian is a puzzle solver, thinking in a logical yet simplistic way. She concentrates on the matter at hand, and rarely lets the smaller things get to her. Any Other Information: Lilian is a tomboy, and always enjoys a good tumble with her older brother, Matt. Her mother always looked down on the way she acts, but her father doesn't seem to mind. She hates her job, since she rarely gets any time to spend with her friends. It was her mother's idea for her to be a cleaning woman in the first place. Every once in a while will ditch her job for a day, and walk around the outskirts of town with a friend or two. -- Whew. Now that I'm done, I hope I get in. x3

Doukeshi
Name: Rane Futhark Age: 30 Gender: Female Occupation: Messenger for Council of Roanledge Appearance: Rane is a standard height of 5ft 6inches, firm of build with a toned and rugged look caused by hard riding. Her hair is thick and wavy, a deep chesnut in colour and often tied back using a leather thong. She is by no means a beautiful woman though her features are not displeasing to the eye and many have called her striking to behold. Shining emerald eyes betray little of her thoughts to the outside world. As a messenger for the Roanledge Council Rane is able to dress in well crafted clothing as her appearance reflects upon her employers. When baring a message across country she is not recquired to wear her day to day uniform and so wears a sturdy, tan suede tunic, brown leather breeches and a white shirt. A dark cloak covers her torso and head as she rides, protecting her from the weather. She wears leather bracers upon both wrists over the sleeves of her shirt and her riding boots are knee high and made from supple black leather. Upon her middle finger of her right hand she wears a silver ring bearing the crest of the council to prove her official business as messenger. Upon her hip she wears a thin rapier-like sword, a necessary tool when traversing the dangerous countryside. Personality: Though determined and often stern her outward personality conceals a caring and thoughful individual who values the trust of others and the strength of compasion. She is well, if a little softly spoken but this does not represent a weakness, far from it in fact. She is self assured and confident, though this can lead her to look down upon others she deems to be of lesser ability. She enjoys the chances her occupation provide to see the world outside of Roanledge and this complements the adventure seeking part of her personality, sparking an almost childlike enthusiasm when out in the field. Any Other Information: Her work consumes her and any relationship she has had in the past has been short and unremarkable. Her horse, a solid bay gelding named Archon, is her best friend and they share a close bond. She is trained in the art of fencing and map reading, though even the map of Wendull is a mystery to her.
