FOR AEONS THE JEDI HAVE BATTLED AGAINST THE SITH, THOSE DESCENDED FROM THE FIRST FALLEN JEDI, THE LIGHT AND DARK SIDES WAGE A CONSTANT BATTLE ACROSS THE SPANS OF TIME. SOMETIMES THE JEDI ARE THE VICTORS, THEY OVERCOME THE DARK SIDE AND BANISH THE SITH AND THEIR EVIL FROM THE FACE OF THE GALAXY, OTHER TIMES THE SITH ARE THOSE TRIUMPHANT AND THE GALAXY IS PLUNGED INTO DARKNESS. SOME WOULD LIKE TO SEE THE FORCE GONE FROM THE UNIVERSE, OR AT LEAST IT?S MANIFESTATIONS AS JEDI AND SITH, WITHOUT SUCH GROUPS WOULD THE GALAXY BE A SAFER PLACE ? WOULD IT KNOW THE WARS AND PAIN IT HAS KNOWN ? OR THANKS TO THE JEDI WHO HAVE LAID DOWN THEIR LIVES TO PROTECT OTHERS IS THE GALAXY A PLACE OF PEACE AND JUSTICE ? IT DOES NOT MATTER REALLY, THE LIGHT AND DARK SIDE WAGE WAR INSIDE EVERYONE, FORCE SENSETIVE OR NOT.

IN THE MORE RECENT BATTLE THE JEDI WERE DEFEATED BY THE SITH, THE ORDER WHICH HAD STOOD SINCE THE DESTRUCTION OF OSSUS OVER FIVE THOUSAND YEARS BEFORE WAS TORN DOWN. BUT BEFORE THIS DESTRUCTION THE JEDI COUNCIL WERE AWARE THAT THEIR TIME IN THE GALAXY WAS DRAWING TO A CLOSE, THEY HAD LOST THEIR ABILITY TO SEE THROUGH THE FORCE, THE SHADOWNS OF THE DARK SIDE HAD CLOUDED THEIR VISION. THEY KNEW THAT WHEN THE SITH STRUCK, THEY WOULD STRIKE WITH ALL THEIR FURY AND POSSIBLY ANNIHILATE ALL THE JEDI, SOME ON THE COUNCIL WERE SCEPTICAL, AND THIS ARROGANCE WOULD BE THEIR DOWNFALL. BUT SOME WERE LESS CYNICAL, AND KNEW THAT THE SITH MIGHT INDEED BE ABLE TO DESTROY THE ORDER, SO IN SECRET A PLAN WAS FORMULATED, A SAFEGUARD AGAINST A CONTINGENCY NONE HOPED WOULD COME TO PASS.

THOSE WHO HAD BEEN DOUBTFUL OF THE SITH?S POWERS PAID DEARLY, FOR A SITH LORD HAD EXISTED AMONG THEM FOR DECADES, PLOTTING HIS EVENTUAL CONQUEST OF THE JEDI ORDER. DARTH SIDIOUS WAS THE MOST POWERFUL SITH LORD FOR A MILLENNIUM, AND HAD STRUCK AGAINST THE JEDI REPEATEDLY WITHOUT FEAR OF DETECTION OR CONSEQUENCE. HIS MANIPULATIONS HAD GAINED HIM CONTROL OF THE SENATE, AND NEXT THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE SITH LORDS OF KORRIBAN WOULD ACCOMPLISH HIM WHAT NO SITH LORD HAD DONE BEFORE HIM, HE WOULD OBLITERATE THE JEDI COMPLETELY. HIS WHISPERS FELL MOSTLY ON DEAF EARS AMONG THE JEDI, BUT ONE FELL PREY TO HIS INFLUENCE, ANAKIN SKYWALKER, THE CHOSEN ONE. WITH SKYWALKER?S AID, SIDIOUS STRUCK AGAINST THE JEDI, AND THE GUARDIANS OF PEACE AND JUSTICE IN THE GALAXY WERE DECIMATED, ONLY A HANDFUL SUVIVED THE RISE OF THE GALACTIC EMPIRE.

BUT THERE WAS SOME HOPE FOR THE JEDI, THOSE WHO HAD BELIEVED THE SITH REPRESENTED A SIGNIFICANT THREAT KNEW THAT IT THE ORDER FELL, IT WOULD BE GONE FOREVER. DANTOOINE HAD ONCE BEEN HOME TO THE JEDI, FIVE THOUSAND YEARS BEFORE, UNTIL DARTH MALAK HAD ATTACKED AND WIPED OUT THE JEDI ENCLAVE THERE, BUT NOW IT WOULD BE HOME TO THE JEDI ONCE MORE. IN THE UTMOST SECRECY THE JEDI COUNCIL SELECTED TWELVE OF THEIR ORDER, THREE MASTERS, THREE KNIGHTS, AND SIX PADAWAN LEARNERS, THESE JEDI WOULD REPRESENT ALL THE ORDER SHOULD THEIR FEARS BE REALISED. THE ACADEMY THAT HAD ONCE BE HOME TO THE JEDI ON DANTOOINE WAS IN RUINS, BUT THE JEDI WOULD NOT RESTORE IT ON THE SURFACE, AS DOING SO WOULD ONLY ATTRACT THE ATTENTION OF THEIR ENEMIES.

USING BUT THE POWER OF THE FORCE, THE JEDI DUG OUT NEW PASSAGES, ROOMS AND HALLS BENEATH THE OLD ACADEMY, HERE THE ORDER WOULD PERSEVERE UNTIL THEY WERE STRONG ENOUGH TO DRIVE THE DARK SIDE FROM THE GALAXY. DANTOOINE HAD BUT A FEW SMALL COMMUNITIES, AND THE ACADEMY WAS FAR FROM THE NEAREST ONE, THE JEDI WOULD BE SAFE HERE, AND HOPEFULLY ALL THEY HAD DONE WAS BUILT SOMETHING THAT WOULD NEVER HAVE TO BE USED. THOSE JEDI SELECTED UNDERSTOOD THE TASK BEING UNDERTOOK, THEY WOULD TRAIN THEIR PADAWAN LEARNERS IN THIS ACADEMY, AND THEIR PADAWAN WOULD GO OUT IN SEARCH FOR NEW APPRENTICES AND THE CYCLE OF THE JEDI WOULD CONTINUE. MASTER YODA HIMSELF VISITED THEM BEFORE THEY WENT INTO HIDING, TO PRAISE THEM FOR THE BRAVERY, HOPEFULLY ONE DAY SOON THE JEDI WOULD COME TO FIND THEM HERE AND ALL WOULD BE WELL. IF NOT HE WAS CONFIDENT THAT THEY AS JEDI WOULD BRING THE ORDER ON TO A NEW AGE OF PEACE, HARMONY AND JUSTICE.

IT IS DOUBTFUL THAT EVEN THE COUNCIL COULD HAVE SEEN THE EXTENT AT WHICH THE SITH WOULD STRIKE AGAINST THEM, THOUSANDS OF JEDI ACROSS THE REPUBLIC MET THEIR DEMISE AT THE HANDS OF THE SITH LORD, DARTH VADER. THOSE FEW JEDI WHO HAD SURVIVED FLED TO AREAS WHERE THE DARK SIDE WAS STRONG, ON TATOOINE OBI-WAN KENOBI WATCHED VADER'S SON GROW UP IN THE CARE OF HIS UNCLE AND AUNT. ON DAGOBAH, MASTER YODA WAS HIDDEN IN THE PALL OF THE DARK SIDE'S, A REMNANT OF THE DATHOMIR NIGHT SISTER, WHOM HE HAD DEFEATED SO MANY YEARS BEFORE.THOSE FEW WHO SURVIVED COULD NOT RISK GOING TO DANTOOINE, TO DO SO WOULD PLACE THE ENTIRE ENCLAVE AT RISK, AND WHAT FEW JEDI MUST STILL HAVE BEEN THERE.

AND SO TIME PASSED, THE OLD REPUBLIC WAS SWEPT AWAY, AND IN IT'S PLACE PALPATINE CROWNED HIMSELF EMPEROR AND THE DARK SIDE SPREAD TO ALL CORNERS OF THE GALAXY. BUT SIDIOUS HAD BEEN ARROGANT TO THINK THAT HE COULD DESTROY ALL THE JEDI EVERYWHERE, HAD HE NOT LEARNED THE LESSON OF THE SITH ? THAT EVEN IN FEW NUMBERS THE JEDI WOULD EVENTUALLY STRIKE BACK, THE WAR BETWEEN LIGHT AND DARK COULD NOT BE SO EASILY WON. FOR TWENTY LONG YEARS DID PALPATINE RULE THE GALAXY WITH AN IRON FIST, AND FOR TWNETY YEARS DID THE SON OF SKYWALKER GROW, NOT KNOWING HIS PLACE IN THE GALAXY OR THE FATE OF HIS FAMILY. THE FORCE WAS STRONG IN HIS FAMILY, AS WAS THE TEMPTATION OF THE DARK SIDE.

AND THEN AS IF BY CHANCE A PAIR OF DROIDS CROSSED HIS PATH, AND LUKE MET UP WITH THE JEDI OBI-WAN KENOBI, WHO BEGAN HIS TRAINING IN THE ART OF THE JEDI. HE MET UP WITH HAN SOLO AND CHEWBACCA, AND TOGETHER THEY WOULD RESCUE PRINCESS LEIA ORGANA OF ALDERAAN, DESTROY THE DEATH STAR, AND STRIKE A GREAT BLOW AGAINST THE EMPIRE FOR THE REBEL ALLIANCE. LUKE WOULD BECOME A HERO OF THE ALLIANCE, AND TWO YEARS LATER HE WOULD SEEK OUT MASTER YODA ON DAGOBAH TO CONTINUE HIS TRAINING AS A JEDI KNIGHT. HOWEVER HIS FATHER DARTH VADER WOULD NOT ALLOW THE YOUNG SKYWALKER TO SLIP THROUGH HIS FINGERS SO EASILY, HE WOULD TURN HIS SON TO THE DARK SIDE AS HE HIMSELF HAD TURNED. ON BESPIN LUKE FOUGHT DARTH VADER, THINKING HE WAS FIGHTING THE FALLEN JEDI WHO HAD KILLED HIS FATHER. BUT VADER WAS NOT TO BE DEFEATED, AND NOT ONLY WOULD LUKE LOSE HIS HAND, BUT HE WOULD LEARN THE CHILLING TRUTH THAT HIS FATHER HAD NOT DIED, BUT FALLEN TO THE DARK SIDE.

FOR THE NEXT YEAR LUKE TRAINED, HE WOULD FIND HIS FRIEND HAN, WHO HAD BEEN CAPTURED BY BOBA FETT AND GIVEN TO JABBA THE HUTT. HIS QUEST LED HIM BACK TO HIS HOMEWORLD OF TATOOINE, WHERE JABBA THE HUTT STILL HELD HAN SUSPENEDED IN HIS CARBONITE PRISON. AFTER LEIA?S UNSUCESSFUL RESCUE, LUKE WHO HAD NOW GROWN STRONG AS A JEDI CHALLENGED THE WRATH OF THE HUTT TO FREE HIS FRIENDS. ON JABBA?S BARGE OVER THE PIT OF THE SARLAAC, LUKE AND LEIA DEFEATED THE CRIMELORD?S GUARDS AND DESTROYED THE BARGE WITH JABBA?S STRANGLED BODY INSIDE. LUKE RETURNED TO DAGOBAH TO COMPLETE HIS TRAINING, BUT YODA WAS OLD AND COULD TRAIN HIM NO MORE, NOW HE WOULD TELL LUKE OF HIS FINAL TASK TO BECOMING A JEDI, AND REVEAL LUKE ALSO HAD A SISTER.

WITH THE NEWS OF ANOTHER DEATH STAR BEING CONSTRUCTED, LUKE KNEW THAT HIS TIME TO PROVE HIMSELF AS A FULLY FLEDGED JEDI KNIGHT HAD COME. USING A STOLEN IMPERIAL SHUTTLE LUKE AND HIS STRIKE TEAM INFILTRATED THE FOREST MOON OF ENDOR WITH A MISSION TO DESTROY THE PLANET DESTROYER?S SHIELD. THOUGH CAPTURED BY VADER, LUKE WAS ABLE TO SOW THE SEEDS OF DOUBT IN HIS FATHER?S MIND, PERHAPS THERE WAS MORE OF ANAKIN LEFT IN HIM THAN HE WAS WILLING TO ADMIT. HIGH ABOVE ENDOR, IN THE DEATH STAR LUKE FINALLY MET THE DARK LORD OF THE SITH, WHO SOUGHT TO MAKE THE SON OF SKYWALKER HIS SLAVE. PALPATINE REVEALED THAT HE HAD ALLOWED THE REBELLION TO FIND OUT ABOUT THE NEW DEATH STAR, AND THAT IN ONE FELL SWOOP, HE WOULD DESTROY THEM ONCE AND FOR ALL.

LUKE UNABLE TO ACCEPT THIS GAVE INTO HIS ANGER AND STRUCK AT THE EMPEROR WITH HIS LIGHTSABER, VADER INTERCEPTED THE ATTACK WITH HIS OWN, AND THUS BEGUN THE DUEL LUKE HAD HOPED TO AVOID. FAR BELOW ON THE MOON'S SURFACE HAN SOLO AND LUKE'S SISTER LEIA SUCCEEDED IN BLOWING UP THE GENERATOR PROTECTING THE DEATH STAR, THE REBEL FLEET HAVING ALREADY LOST A SHIP TO THE DEATH STAR LAUNCHED THEIR COUNTER-ATTACK. LUKE AT FIRST RESISTED FIGHTING HIS FATHER, ATTEMPTING TO SHOW HIM THERE WAS MORE OF HIS GOOD SIDE LEFT THAN HE CARED TO ADMIT. PALPATINE, IRRITATED BY SKYWALKER'S LACK OF OBEDIENCE STRUCK AT THE YOUNG JEDI WITH LIGHTNING BOLTS FROM HIS FINGER TIPS, VADER WATCHED, HEARING HIS SON'S CRIES FOR HELP.

ABANONDING THE DARK SIDE, VADER PICKED UP HIS MASTER AND HURLED HIM INTO THE DEATH STAR CORE BELOW, THE PRICE FOR ANAKIN WAS HIGH HOWEVER, AS HE WAS FATALLY WOUNDED BY THE EMPEROR'S LIGHTNING. LUKE WAS FINALLY GIVEN THE CHANCE TO SEE HIS FATHER'S FACE, AND ANAKIN TELLS LUKE TO TELL HIS SISTER THAT SHE WAS RIGHT ABOUT THERE BEING SOME GOOD LEFT IN HIM. BECOMING ONE WITH THE FORCE LUKE REALISES THAT HE IS NOT THE LAST OF THE OLD JEDI, BUT THE FIRST OF THE NEW. THE REBEL ALLIANCE SUCCEED IN HITTING THE DEATH STAR'S WEAKEST POINT, CAUSING THE STATION TO BEGIN A CATACLYSMIC CHAIN REACTION. LUKE PILOTS A SHUTTLE FROM THE STATION JUST BEFORE IT'S DESTRUCTION, AND FAR BELOW ON ENDORS SURFACE, THE REBELLION CELEBRATE THEIR VICTORY OVER THE EMPIRE.

THIRTY YEARS LATER, THE GALACTIC ALLIANCE IS STILL REBUILDING AFTER THE DESTRUCTION CAUSED BY WAR WITH THE YUUZHAN VONG, EVEN AFTER FIVE YEARS, THE NAME STILL SENDS SHIVERS DOWN THE SPINES OF SUVIVORS. LUKE'S ACADEMY ON YAVIN FOUR MAKES A STARTLING DISCOVERY, THE POSSIBLITY OF AN ENTIRE ENCLAVE OF JEDI ON DANTOOINE, LUKE REALISES THE IMPORTANCE OF SUCH A POSSIBILITY AND PERSONALLY GOES TO DANTOOINE TO SEE IF THERE IS ANY TRUTH IN THE RUMOUR. LANDING ON DANTOOINE, NEITHER LUKE, KYLE NOR KYP CAN FEEL THE PRESENCE OF ANY JEDI, PERHAPS THE INFORMATION WAS FALSE, OR PERHAPS THE JEDI HAD PURPOSELY CONCEALED THEMSELVES TO AVOID THE FATE OF THE REST OF THE ORDER. FINDING THE REMAINS OF THE JEDI ACADEMY LUKE STRECHES OUT WITH HIS FEELING AGAIN, AND THIS TIME FINDS A GLIMMER OF THE FORCE FAR BENEATH THE SURFACE. BEFORE HE CAN INVESTIGATE FURTHER HOWEVER, HE AND THE OTHERS ARE KNOCKED UNCONSCIOUS BY AN UNSEEN FORCE. WAKING UP THE FIND THEMSELVES FACING A COUNCIL OF TWELVE INDIVDUALS, THEIR FACES STERN, THEY WISH TO KNOW WHY LUKE HAS COME.

LUKE EXPLAINS THAT HE HAS REFORMED THE JEDI ORDER, AND THAT THE SITH HAVE BEEN DRIVEN FROM THE GALAXY. BUT THOSE ON THE COUNCIL ARE NOT SO QUICK TO BELIEVE, A SKYWALKER BROUGHT DOWN THE JEDI, THEY WOULD NOT BE SO TRUSTING OF HIS SON. THE JEDI ASK LUKE TO PROVE HIS INTENTIONS, THEY CANNOT ALLOW WHAT REMAINS OF JEDI ORDER TO BE PUT AT RISK. REACHING OUT WITH THE FORCE, THE JEDI COUNCIL PROBE THE MIND OF LUKE, KYP AND KYLE, ATTEMPTING TO SENSE DECEPTION FROM THE JEDI AND HIS COMPANIONS. SENSING NO DECEPTION THEY ACCEPT WHAT SKYWALKER HAS TOLD THEM AND EXPRESS REGRET FOR THE WAY THEY HAVE TREATED HIM, LUKE ASSURES THEM THAT HE WOULD HAVE DONE THE SAME IN THEIR PLACE, BUT WOULD ALSO SEEK KNOWLEDGE OF WHY THEY ARE HERE AND HAVE NOT RETURNED TO THE GALAXY SINCE THE FALL OF THE EMPIRE.

THE COUNCIL REVEAL TO LUKE THAT AFTER THE DEFEAT OF THE EMPIRE THEY DECIDED AGAINST REVEALING THEMSELVES, THEY TELL LUKE THAT THE REPUBLIC BETRAYED THEM BEFORE AND THEY WOULD NOT BE SO FOOLISH AS TO PUT THEMSELVES AT RISK AGAIN. LUKE IS TAKEN ABACK BY THEIR REASONING, THE JEDI ARE THE GUARDIANS OF PEACE AND JUSTICE IN THE GALAXY, BUT THE JEDI RETORT THAT THE REPUBLIC DOES NOT COMPRISE THE ENTIRE GALAXY. THEY ALSO SENSE THAT LUKE HAS KNOWN THE BETRAYAL OF THE REPUBLIC, HOW THE SENATE HANDED OVER JEDI TO YUUZHAN VONG IN ORDER TO SAVE THEMSELVES, THE JEDI ORDER FELL ONCE BEFORE BECAUSE OF THE REPUBLIC'S BETRAYAL, THEY WOULD NOT DO SO AGAIN. I've purposely left out the Sign Up section because many of the people who've signed up have had problems with it, no doubt in part because of the sheer length of it and perhaps because of my own wording of it.

Anyway if you have any problems with the Sign Up, want to ask questions about the background to the RPG, have any suggestions or problems then please use this thread rather than PMing me as it'll not only allowed multiple people to voice the one concern but also not swarm my inbox. I've going to run through a few of the problems with the four Sign Ups, already although this is probably again down to the act that I wasn't clear.

[b]Being teamed with a Padawan:[/b]
I said in the Sign Up that I'd be pairing each of the our Knights and two Masters with a Padawan Learner, as you might have guessed this Padawan Learner will be one of the six people who've signed up as Padawan. For this reason I'm going to ask people to hold off completing their Biographies until I've assigned them a Padawan, I know it's a bit of a pain but it's the easiest way to work things out. If you have someone you'd like to be your Padawan/Master then please post it here and I'll take it into consideration.

[b]Two Tier Force Powers:[/b]
Just browsing through the Sign Ups, I've noticed a few people have made the mistake of being a Knight and have the Tier 3 power. For example Mind Trick is Tier 2, and available to all Knights, but Force Confusion is Tier 3 and only available to Masters. This is the same for all the other two Tier powers, if people who've made this mistake would just change it to the previous one I'd be very grateful.

[b]Lightsaber Style:[/b]
From the age of 5, Younglings begin their study of lightsaber techniques, this begins with the Shi-Cho [Levels 1-3]. At 15 a Padawan will have the choice of studying certain other styles depending on their qualification, however they will have the option of studying only one. I noticed that one person made the mistake of saying that they were currently studying Niman [Form VI] and were then going to go onto Soresu [Form III], unfortunately due to the length of time it would take to unlearn Niman and then learn Soresu it wouldn't be possible. After Shi-Cho you begin the style that you will stick with for the duration of the RPG, and possible beyond if we have a sequel with recurring characters.

[b]Affiliate Order:[/b]
This was something I knew people were going to have trouble with, and I debated whether or not to just leave it out and have everyone being an Old Jedi Order member. Unfortunately [for my sanity] I want people to have to have the ability to create an entirely unique character which also includes where they received their training and their experiences. I know a lot of people won't have read the NJO or other sections of the Expanded Universe, which is why I'm trying to search for a good descriptive Timeline for you to look over. Whichever Order you want to belong to is completely your choice abut I would ask that if I'm going to pair a New Jedi with an Old one I'd like those involved to work it into their Sign Ups.

Alright I've been thinking about the whole Padawan/Master issue for the last few days, and I've come to a conclusion. To be honest when I started the RPG I didn't think I'd get twelve people to sign up, this is down simply to the fact it's been a while since I've started a successful RPG. Now I'm in the position where I have well more people than I have places, and to my knowledge I still have more people who wish to Sign Up. This puts me into the position of having to take the best eleven or thirteen people for the RPG and if I do that it's not certain that everyone's Padawan or Master will get in.

In the end I realise that I would either be forced to pick people with incomplete sign ups, which would put me at a disadvantage or I could ask people to finish off their Sign Ups and once the Masters/Padawan are chosen they could change what's necessary and we could get on our way. In the end I chose the latter, for obvious reasons.

I know it's going to be tough for you to be able to finish off your sign ups without having a Master or for Knights/Masters to be able to do it without a Padawan. Then of course there's the difference in events for both Orders, the New Jedi Order would be dealing with the losses cause by the war with the Yuuzhan Vong, which would have ended four or five years ago. And the Old Jedi have all their set trials to accomplish before being granted the rank of Padawan/Knight/Master.

For those of you who have signed up as New Jedi, I would suggest going through the timeline and trying to fit in events into your biography. For those of you in the Old Order browse through mine and Yoda's sign ups for a more detailed idea of what goes on. Just under here I'll try and give people an idea of how an Old Jedi would be trained on the Dantooine Academy, it will go age, followed by events.

Brought to the Jedi Academy on Dantooine, children only taken with parents consent and a guarantee that they [the parents] would not reveal the child was taken by the Jedi.

Infants are looked after while they grow old enough to join a Youngling Clan.

[B][2 years - 12/13 years][/B]
Children are trained in Youngling Clans by Jedi Masters Voralla, Wo'diin and Zarael, here they begin training in the ways of the Jedi [Force Use and lightsaber training] they are also taught history, diplomacy, languages and other subjects in keeping with an advanced education. Between the age of 12/13, just before a Youngling becomes a Padawan they faces tests on their education, Force Use and they construct their first proper lightsaber. All the parts but the focusing crystal are giving to them, to get the focusing crystal they must venture along with a Jedi into the Kinrath caves to retrieve it. A Jedi accompanies them usually for observation but also to ensure the safety of a Youngling, and to make sure they get a working crystal. After completing the lightsaber and finishing their remaining tests [education-based and Force Use] the Youngling is chosen by a Jedi and ascends to the rank of Padawan.

[B][12/13 years - 21/25 years][/B]
The Padawan spends several years learning from their Master, until the Council determines the Padawan is ready to take the Trials to become a Jedi Knight. While a Padawan Learner, the individual is tutored by his/her Master further in the ways of the Force, trained in a new style of lightsaber combat from Shi-Cho at 15 and further educated and imparted wisdom. During this period Padawan study the history of the Jedi and the galaxy in far great detail, gaining better insight into events. Between the age of 19/22 the Council will decide that they are ready to take the Trails.

[B][21/25 years - ][/B]
Upon reaching the rank of Jedi Knight, a Jedi has the right to take on a Padawan of their own, or spend time further educating themselves and gaining wisdom. Eventually they will take a Padawan and train the Padawan to the best of their abilities, further strengthening the Order. After a number of years, a Jedi Knight may rise to the rank of Master, although this is not guaranteed.

Alright that's a basic idea of what would happen to a child in the Old Jedi Order, as I said further ideas can be gained from either mine or Yoda's sign up. I will try and come up with something similar for NJO members but it will take some time, as they will not be as regimented as the OJO members. I would like to express my sincere apologies to everyone for how long this RPG has taken. As some of you know I've been working as a CSSO or Customer and Staff Support Officer [Porter] in my local Bank for the last fortnight and I've been too wrecked to write anything for the RPG. As well as this an uncle of mine has been refurbishing my late granduncle's home and I've been roped in to help. I really have worked for a long time on the RPG, and I'll be damned to see it fail on my own account.

I said in my last update in the Sign Up that I was holding a slot open for a friend who wanted to join, however since I haven't received anything yet, I'm going to just stick with the 13 people who I chose from everyone who signed up. Tessek carries with him twin lightsabres, identical in design. The design of the hilt?s would be considered somewhat heavy-duty to most Jedi. Thick metal casing surrounds the focusing crystal, made of a silver that almost makes the sabres gleam even in the dark. A lack of experience in craftsmanship and perhaps too much desire meant that both hilt?s evened out at roughly 35cm long to compensate for a more powerful energy lens, allowing the blade?s length to be altered. Both lightsabres ignite with a lime green blade when activated, and due to the users focus on pure power, they emit a deeper and seemingly more sinister hiss than most sabres.

Tessek stands at just over 5?2? tall, and has the typical appearance that characterises his race. His skin is of deep tan, and his eyes are a glorious shade of luminescent blue, with four tentacles protruding from his jaw area. He is quite thick set for a member of his species, possibly due to the physical activity he faces every day as a Jedi. He bears a scar from the top of his neck on the left side, to the right side of his chest, a wound that almost killed him. He wears the generic robes of a Jedi, his tunic is a sandstone colour, over which he wears deep brown boots that come up to his knees, and a brown Jedi cloak.

[B]Biography:[/B]

Tessek was discovered by a Jedi Knight on his home planet of Mon Calamari when he was five years old. The young Quarren displayed a good , and surprisingly attuned affinity for the force even at such a young age, though his personality left something to be desired, as it seemed he had become somewhat of a bully to his peers. However, the Jedi dismissed this due to Tessek?s age, and decided it was in the best interests of the Jedi if this young man was able to achieve his potential.

Tessek was introduced to lightsaber combat almost immediately after entering the Academy. Even at such an early age, it seemed Tessek may have been brought in to the Academy at a stage too late in his life. He possessed almost inconsolable traits of impatience and anger, and was unprepared for the refined art of lightsaber combat that demanded focus and calm. When he was unable to accomplish a feat, he would become irate and frustrated, and only through intense guidance by Jedi Master Zarael was he able to quell his emotions, and eventually begin to learn.

By the end of Tessek?s clanship, he had seemingly turned a corner, and had become a Padawan with exceptional talents, especially in combat. This would attract the attention of Jodo Kavor, in the same way that his own talents attracted his former master, Doran Wo?Diin. Jodo, saw that the young Quarren was very aggressive in combat, but was unaware of the emotional problems he had gone through during the start of his clanhood, and so decided to take him on as his first Padawan learner.

The joining of these two individuals as master and apprentice proved far more difficult that Jodo had anticipated. With the added pressures and responsibility of a Padawan?s life, Tessek?s emotional twinges again began to arise. Jodo, lacking the patience and experience of old Jedi himself, found it very difficult to teach his student. Tessek, though admirable of his master?s exceptional skill, often found his advice lacking direction. Seemingly, Tessek had developed a very narrow minded viewpoint during his clanship, one that offence and power were the key to being successful as a Jedi and a warrior.

Tessek would often find his master in conversation with Master Wo?Diin. He knew that he was the subject of these talks, and this annoyed him, as he felt he was doing nothing wrong. Indeed he proved to be growing very adept in lightsabre combat, sparring sessions with other Padawan?s would often prove short and swift, with Tessek emerging victorious. Jodo saw nothing wrong in this, as it was an exercise that would boost his skill. What he didn?t anticipate was the affect it would have on his ego. This would be further compounded when Tessek was allowed to spar with his master. Tessek?s aggressive mentality and fighting style was unable to penetrate his master?s defence. During the fight his master would give advice and orders, in the same way Master Wo?Diin had done to him, but instead of taking the lessons to heart as Jodo did, the advice would only add to Tessek?s frustration, and increase his aggressive pursuit.

As Tessek turned fifteen, he confronted his master about taking the next step up in lightsabre study. Jodo, after much thought and council with his former master, reluctantly agreed, already knowing the style Tessek would choose. He was surprised though, that after choosing the Shien style, he chose to craft an extra lightsaber, to further his attacking prowess. Jodo?s concern heightened, so much that he would report this to the Jedi Council. They advised that he move forward cautiously with his Padawan, and remarked that they would aid by keeping a closer eye on the young Quarren. Behind closed doors, the Council debated on the effect this may have on Jodo himself, who displayed similar traits, if much less prominent, to his Padawan.

Tessek now nears his sixteenth birthday. Recently he had become concerned that his teachings have been proceeding far more slowly than he is used to. He has not yet confronted his master about this, who seems to have detatched himself somewhat from Tessek recently. As of now, their relationship is very fragile, and it is very clouded as to how events between them will unfold in the future.

Tessek is a very intelligent young man, and can often provide deep levels of insight and perception when involved in debate. However, these seem to be too far and few between. Seemingly having kept the traits that made him a bully as a boy, Tessek is never happy if he does not get his way, fast. His narrow minded viewpoint means that he will see everything in black and white, and will then become frustrated, aggressive, and eventually furious if a clear solution is not presented quickly. This carries over to every aspect of his life, be it a mental activity or physical feat.

There are times when you just think things can't get any worse, you're completely positive that it can only get better. Then life comes along, kicks you square in the nads and makes you realise that things can indeed get worse.

When I posted my last update 72 hours ago I was nearly 100% certain that I wouldn't be going on holiday this year. My mother, ever the sun worshipper had not been able to get a foreign holiday, which invariably leads to me getting semi-drunk most nights and ending up spending the next day resting for a similar escapade the follow night. So sure was I that she would not get a holiday, that when asked if I'd go [which I had no intention of doing] I said alright with no hesitation. However I have now learned the lesson that one should never underestimate one's mother, especially if that underestimation involves an activity that she designates as vital.

How wrong I was, yesterday morning to my great dismay my mother managed to get a vacation for the six of us in my family, and since I had agreed to go there was nothing I could do to get out of it. So I now have to spend the next two weeks in Turkey, being mauled by shopkeepers in the bazaar to buy their merchandise, while at the same time wishing that I was at home enjoying our unusually great weather [26 degrees Celsius].

As you might imagine, this vacation does put certain constraints on my internet time, which is a polite way of saying that chances are I would be near a computer until the holiday is over in 15 days. Yet again this means that I won't be able to start the RPG, unless by some bit of luck I manage to acquire an hour of internet time on this sabbatical. I have paired up the Masters and Apprentices, but not finished the NJO Council, which I will try to do ASAP.
