"Welcome to my place!" Silva peered at the humble dwelling, marked in several places with burns. Ragear grinned toothily, and Ryu shrugged apologetically. "We didn't know he was allergic to wool." Silva felt Shiva nudge her in from behind, and the girl did so, rather grudgingly. "So...uh..." "Ryu." "Ryu, where do I rest?" "Over there." He waved his hand toward a pile of bags, some filled with feathers, others with leaves. "But first..." He yanked a feather filled bag away, and then smiled. "There you go." "Uh huh...." She stared in disbelief. "Where do you sleep?" Ryu leaned against the wall, Ragear scrabbling next to him. The two shared the feather bag, and used each other as pillows as well. "Well, normally where you are, but seeing how we have company..." Inwardly, Silva flinched. He was being so nice about all this. "I...I can't." "'yy?" "I-I, I just can't take your spot." Ryu shrugged indifferently. "Don't worry about it. We've done worse on some of our rounds." "Some of your...rounds?" "O yes! We go 'n' fo'ev'r bowwow stuff!" "Forever....borrow?" Shiva stuck her large head through the curtain door. "You mean you steal?" Ryu felt an odd sensation clamped down on his stomach. "Yeah, [i]steal[/i]. What's wrong with that?" "Only everything," Silva shot back. "Why?" "It just isn't right!" "Oh come on! It's not like they needed any of it! These rich types are always better off than me and Ragear--we barely get through each day!" "Rich types, huh?" "Silva, don't--" Silva had jumped up and stalked about the room. She saw it in almost an instant, then reached out and grabbed it--a tear drop crystal necklace. "Oh geez," Ryu muttered under his breath. "Deese..." Ragear echoed. "This..." the girl nearly shouted, waving the necklace at them, "is MINE! I was very upset when it went missing. If I had known you two had stolen it--" "Oh c'mon, it's just a necklace, you had dozens others, much better looking anyhow, what's so great about that one?" Silva turned on him. "This necklace was given to me by my mother--before she..." She broke off and looked at the ground. "I think it is time for us to go," Shiva murmured. "Yes," Silva said stiffly, "we should go." She threw the feather bags in her hands down to the floor roughly, then stalked out. The curtain door was jerked aside, but fell back gently. "Ooie skew up?" "Big time, buddy." ------------------------------------ Silva was so angry she hardly noticed when she bumped into the girl. Startled, the girl stared back. They rest next to the entrance. Matt peeks in. Matt: Ok, there are three people and three dragons. I think this will be a tough one, but how should we go about this? Kai: Maybe they are not with the red Shadowman. They could be possible allys. Matt: True, but we must suspect everyone. I think we should avoid a direct fight, the odds are against us. Look at this!" He fell down from the whole in the ceiling and a huge matress landed on top of him after. Once, pushed aside, Ryu and Ragear tested it and studied it. "wery 'ice!" "Indeed. Could use some fix ups." They pulled it into the alley and grabbed some tools to use on the broken springs which buldged out but then saw a shadow fly over head. "Hm. Could of sworn that was a dragon. Odd. Maybe it was Silva." "You make 'er ofly mad." Ragear poked. "Yah yah. But i can't help it. Born a theif is hard enough." Ryu prodded the rusted springs that the matress beheld when he overheard a conversation. "Who are you?" one voice asked. "Hm. Silva. Let's go listen, Ragear." Ryu snuck along the cracked walls of abandoned alley buildings, keeping in the shadows. "Hehe. Easydroppings." Ragear giggled. "That's eavesdropping, Ragear and were doing no such thing." Matt grabs Ryu by the mouth as does Kai to Ragear so they don't make a sound. Matt: I'm going to lift my hand now, and if you scream Kai here will snap your little friend's neck. Matt lifts his hand from Ryu's mouth and gets a confused expression. Ryu: Who are you? What do you want? Matt: I ask the questions here. Now I want to know who you're working for. Now! Ryu: I'm not working for anyone, I'm just a thief! Matt: You lie! Ryu: Never! Now let my dragon go! Matt nods to Kai and Ragear is set free. Matt: Hey, I'm really sorry about that. I'm tracking a dangerous killer and he's sent guys after me before, you can't be too careful. Ryu: Yeah well you COULD be a little gentler. Matt: I'm sorry. But I want to get that guy badly. As Matt and Kai turn, and so does Ragear being not to bright, Ryu grabs hold of his dragon and races around the corner to where Silva and the other girl were. The 2 bump into Shiva and fall to the ice-cold stone streets. Silva gave a sharp look at Ryu, and Ryu cowarded near the wall. Then he jumped to his feet in an instant at the sight of Matt. He took off flashing past Shiva, Shiva swinging her tail at Matt, causing him to fly into Kai. "Okay. This is getting odd." Silva pointed out. Matt draws his sword and also assumes his fighting stance. Silva and Shiva also prepare to attack. Silva: Who are you?! Matt: That's what I was going to ask you. I am Matt, and now you tell me who you're working for! Silva: We're not working for anyone! Matt and Kai drop their fighting stances, as do Silva and Shiva. Matt then puts away his sword. Matt: I'm sorry for the confusion. You have my sincere apologies. You see, we're searching for the red Shadowman. He is a ruthless killer of humans and dragons alike. "Do you have to leave right away?" Leona turned and stared him right in the face, "Look, I have some things to do elsewhere also so I have no time for your petty wining. Mother's gonna kill me if I don't make it back by sun up." She grabbed the ripped pieces of bag and pushed them into a trash can. "Good day." "What's wrong Leona?" "Nothing..." "There's something wrong. What's wrong?" "Nothing." "Tell me what's wrong!!!! Or I'll make you walk the rest of the way home..." "Black mailer..." Leona sighed and turned to face the giant dragon. "Some girl broke the eggs." Wind arched an eyebrow and said. "Is that all?" "...Umm...." "You don't want to tell me, do you?" "Umm..." "I'll take that as a yes..." Leona sweat dropped, climbed on Wind's back, and they flew off on the way home. When they reached the house, Wind landed, and Leona walked in. A couple minutes later, she emerged, a wide grin on her face. Wind looked curiously at her friend, and quickly asked. "Why so happy?" "Mom gave me 50 bucks, and we can go back to the city for a while." "Aight!" "Mhm. Let's go!" She hopped on the dragon's back, and flew back to the city. Silva noticed none of this, but pondered rather over the day's and night's events. "Silva." "Hmm?" "I thought you promised not to laugh at any more Dragonial Warriors." "I didn't!" "Then why did you laugh at Wind?" "I didn't, I...I..." Silva was at a loss for words. She didn't know why she laughed. "I see." The pair flew on for a few minutes in silence. "Shiva?" "Yes, little one?" "Are you...are you mad at me?" If Shiva had eyebrows, she would have raised them. As it was, her ear tufts pricked up. "Now why would I be mad at you?" Silva sighed heavily. "Forget it..." "I have a feeling this may have to do with what all happened today." "Well, yes!" the girl blurted out. "There was the guy and Ragear, the red cloaked guy with the Cale dragon, then we bumped into that other girl that dropped the eggs and [i]her[/i] dragon, not to mention that other person and dragon..." Shiva felt Silva's grip tighten. "Shiva, what's going on?" "I know not, my dear. But there is obviously something wrong. Shall we return home?" Silva imagined the picturesque water garden lit by the moonlight, then yawned. "I suppose so, I need sleep." "As do I." Silva did not respond. Shiva noticed that the girl was already asleep. The Draaqua gently dived toward the ground, unaware of the presence behind them. It...they?...hid behind the clouds a moment longer, watching where the dragon landed, then slipped toward the earth, taking to the shadows. Fog swept the lands clean of visiblity and the tree branches made it hard to keep track of the sky. "Find them yet, Ragear?" "Not ye', Rooie." "Darn. Where could they have gone?" Suddenly, Ryu felt something swipe his shoulder and he turned with a jerk. "Ragear? Was that you?" "Not me, Rooie." Suddenly, Ragear sniffed the air and his pupils thinned. "I smell bandicoot." "Bandicoot?" Ryu asked. "Yes. Bandicoot. They red furred 'arriors. Smell 'unny." Ryu turned slightly at the sound of rustling bushes and then jumped at the sound of a roar. "Dragon!" Imediatly, Ryu and Ragear charge out of their spots and to the call of the dragon. They came to the scene only to find Silva and Shiva captured by bandicoots. Dragonfire1477 Posted November 23, 2001 Share Posted November 23, 2001 Matt and Kai are eating by their camp fire when a strange feeling come over the both of them. Matt: Did you feel that? Some sort of powerful energy. Kai: I felt it too, but I also heard something in that direction! Matt mounts Kai and the two fly off to where the comotion is taking place. They reach the struggle area and see the bandicoots attacking the other Dragonials. Matt leaps from Kai's back and comes down slashing, while Kai swoops down taking out bandicoots left and right. Matt: Everyone, run! We'll hold them until you get away! Matt and Kai continue to fight the seemingly endless number of bandicoots. Kai howls in pain as the creatures attack him. Matt leaps over and slashes more and more bandicoots in a rage, helping Kai. Kai: Everyone back! Kai releases an enourmous chain of fire hot enough to melt boulders. Dragon Warrior Posted November 23, 2001 Share Posted November 23, 2001 The bandicoots do full court assault. They suddenly all jump Matt and Siren and their dragons head on. Not being as strong, but out numbering 4 to over 200, the Bandicoots manage to capture the 4 warriors. Matt didn't stand for it, though. He riggled like a mad man and knocked down bandicoots by the dozen with just his feet. The bandicoots flew through the air and hit the poles Ryu, Silva and Ragear were attached to. Shiva, being in chains was left behind as the poles slid down the cliff side, a 80 foot drop. Daylight struck like an arrow on a target. The morning dew sprinkled the splintered wood of Ryu's pole as he awakened. "Wha? What happened?" Silva was already up, and Ragear was off his pole, helping Silva out of her ropes. Once done with her, Ragear helped Ryu. "There 'ou are, Rooie." "Thanks, Ragear." Ryu said rubbing his hands from where the ropes burned him. "Oh my! Those wounds could be infected." Silva said reaching into a pouch, "Let me help them." "No no. They're fi[SIZE=3]iiII[/SIZE] [SIZE=4]IIIIINNEE[/SIZE] ow! That hurts!" Ryu complained. "Don't be such a baby." Silva said adding herbs to the medicated wounds. They fell farther than 80 feet for they tumbled down more hills and made it over 6 miles worth of traveling, though they didn't notice for they were unconscious most of the way. "I hope Shiva's alright." Silva worried. "She will be." "Huh?" Silva looked up at Ryu. "I know she will. She takes good care of you and will take good care of those bandicoot." He jumped to her shoulder and perched there. "I don't know. They're Chosen Ones, though." Riven jerked her head to look at him. "What are you talking about?" Kam made a clicking noise. "Only Chosen Dragons are partnered with people." Riven grinned. "You might say, only Chosen People are partnered with dragons." Kam clicked again. "I might, but I didn't." Riven shook her head. "Never mind that! Do we trust them?" Kam flicked his tail. "Do we ever? No." "Should we help them?" "They don't need our help," Chameleon pointed out. It was true. "But you might go over and introduce us," he continued. "That's always polite." "I didn't ask for your etiquette advice," Riven muttered. Just the same, she moved towards them, away from the security of the shadows. "Keep us hidden," she whispered. Kam flicked his tail again, and, for all practical purposes, they became invisible. Or, rather, hidden. Riven was well familiar with this talent of Kam's. If anyone were to look at them, his eyes would slide off of the pair as if they were not there. As many hundred of times as they had done the spell, no one had ever been able to notice them. Suddenly, Ryu jumped from Silva's medical care and drew his blade from his side and pointed it right at Riven's face. The shock made Kam stop his invisiblity spell and caused him to faint. "Hey! Don't get the nerve to point that sword in my face!" Riven scolded. She picked Kam up into her arms. "I'm sorry, but you shouldn't sneak up on people like that! It's dangerous and undignified." Kam clicked as he awakened again and climbed to Riven's shoulder. "Bad human!" and with that, Kam shot his tounge out and slapped Ryu's face. "Ow! Hey!" Ryu stood before Riven and Kam, glaring. Kam's two circling eyes centered on Ryu. "Filthy human!" and he shot out his tounge again, slapping Ryu's other cheek. He shot it again but this time, Ryu grabbed it and tossed him into a tree.
