Kam shot past her and climbed up on Riven's shoulder, hissing and clicking in a fierce manner. "[i]Ryu![/i]" Silva yelled at the boy. "That's no way to treat visitors!" "But I thought--" "No, you did not," Riven replied calmly. "Let us go, Kam." Kam clicked meanly in agreement. "Way to go, genius." "What, what did I do?" "That was obviously a Dragonial pair--" "A [i]wha?[/i] Oh, you mean Dragona pair." "Yeah, whatever, but we need to quit being so mean to them." "We? [i]WE?!?[/i] I didn't do nothing, just trying to protect..." His words trailed off in a hot blooded mutter." "Who were you trying to protect?" "Me!" Ragear flopped over, groaning. "Rooie siwwy...." "Whatever, hotshot, just no more flinging dragons into trees. You never know when you might get flung yourself. Now, let's..." She grunted as she tried to climb the cliff back to where they were before they fell. "try to...get back...up to Shiva...She might need...our help..." Ryu shrugged, and turned away. Ragear stared up the cliff, then started after Silva. "Hey!" Ryu shouted. "You're MY dragon, you're not supposed to...ah geez..." With a sigh, Ryu climbed after them. "Yes," Kam said darkly, whirling eyes focused on the climbing figure of Ryu. "I'm fine." Riven clenched her teeth. "I swear, Kam, if he ever lays a hand on you again--" she hissed. "He won't," Chameleon said. "I'll be ready next time." "There won't [i]be[/i] a next time," Riven said. "We're not going near [i]them[/i] again." Kam clicked in amusement. "What?" "We could push him back down the cliff," he said. "I'd like that." Riven choked back a laugh. "Yeah, after he's finally almost to the top! Can't you just picture it?" The image of Ryu tumbling down the cliff again was enough to make her forget her grudge against him for the moment. Kam jumped off her shoulder. "Let's go," he said. "What?" "Push him down the cliff." She giggled. "Are you serious?" Kam clicked at her. "Of course. Come on, he's almost to the top." "But how would we get there so fast?" "Easy. I can link us there." Linking was Kam's way of traveling quicly between places or people he knew well. Blinking out of existence at one point and reappearing at another. "But--we've never been here before. You don't know any of them, do you?" "Nah. But I've got [i]his[/i] scent. I can link to that, as long as it's fresh. Come on!" "You were supposed to be the responsible one," Riven muttered as Kam leapt up to her shoulder again. "Weeeell.... alright. I would but I just can't *click*. It is so tempting at first, but *click* now I can't." Kam spoke his last words with inthusiaum and went off into a rage of clicking. "C'mon. Let's go." and so they teleported off the cliff before Siren could even call up to them again. "How.. much... farther... Silva...?" Ryu said grasping a loose rock. "Not... to far... I can see.... the trees... on the... cliff..." but suddenly, without warning, the rock Silva clung onto loosened and he was hanging by one hand. "[I]AH! Ryu! Help me![/I] " she screamed, trying to hook another hand on the cliff. "I'm coming! Hold on!" Ryu's hand fell off a rock also but he was able to swing his arm over to a boulder that buldged out and cling to it. Using the boulder as a supporter, Ryu let go and hung from the boulder alone. "Oooh... Rooie..." Ragear put his claws over his eyes. "I'm okay, Ragear. But if I drop.." he looked down on the rocky bottom below him, "..I'm a gonner." Ryu made haste and climbed across the boulder's edges, only holding on by his hands and hands alone. "[I]Ryu! I'm slipping![/I] " Silva yelled. "Hold on.... Almost there...." Ryu started to slip off towards the end of the rock and head downward but he used sheer force to climb the rocks. Finally making it to the end of the boulder, he held out his hand and gestured for Silva to grasp it. "I can't reach it!" she said, gripping for Ryu's hand. "C'mon! You can do it! Just a littkle further!" Finally, Silva grabbed his hand and the rock she clung to fell off the cliff and tumbled down the 80 foot drop. The two just hung there in mid day. At the site of his enraged partner, Kai beging to get restless as well. Smoke billows out of his nose and fire pours from the cracks in his scaly muzzled mouth. Once I get my sword I can free Kai and he'll get us out of this mess. I'm afraid the dagger isn't enough to cut those thick muzzes on our dragons. Siren: Ok then. I'll cut the ropes and you run as fast as you can. Ok? Matt: Run, ok, but I know a faster way. Siren cuts the ropes and Matt leaps far above the crowd of bandicoots. He grabs his sword and leaps back over the crowd to Siren and the other dragons. He cuts the muzzles while Siren cuts the binding ropes. The Dragonas mounts their dragons and begin to leave. Kai begins to hover above the crowd of angry leaping bandicoots. He consentrates a small fireball in front of his mouth. Matt adds his energy, and the ball grows as big as a room, Kai lets it fly to the crowd. By the time the ball hits the Dragonas are long gone. His arms burned painfully, and he knew he'd give anything just to stop climbing, even if it meant letting go. "Um, Ryu...? "Wha...at?" "What's that noise?" There was a slight hissing noise, and then a click. A few smaller rocks clattered down the steep slope, echoing as they fell. Silva's stomach dropped to her feet as she re-realized how high they were. [i]If we fell--[/i] Then suddenly, they did. Or that's what it seemed like. The rock face Ryu clutched crumpled inward, taking the three with it. The trio screamed as they tumbled into semi-darkness. Ryu tried to fling his hands out to grab an edge to grip, but he and the others kept sliding. Up and behind them, the entrance caved in, leaving no sign of where they had been. The other Dragonas flew overhead, seeing nothing but several Bandicoots and the still-tied up Shiva. "That's odd..." Beneath the earth, Silva gave vent to a piercing shriek, stifled only by Ryu's hand. "Shh, Shh SHH, shh, no more, you might start another cave in." Silva whimpered under his hand, her wide eyes fearful. Ryu blinked in the darkness. "What's wrong?" "'ilvee scare?" Pushing away Ryu's hand, Silva scowled--not that anyone could see it. "Of course I am!" "Why?" "You have [i]your[/i] dragon, but Shiva's still tied up somewhere. We're stuck underground, and I'm...." Her voice tapered off. "...claustrophobic." Ryu had to stifle a laugh. Ragear reached out to pat Silva's hand. She jumped when she felt the claws, but relaxed as she noticed it was Ragear. "S'okay, 'Ilvee, we take care oo." Silva felt better...until she heard the clicking noise. "Uh, are there clicking creatures down here?" "....new places..." The two voices floated back to them. Ryu shushed Silva and Ragear into silence. "....linking is...." Silva heard the scrape of metal as Ryu drew his sword, waiting as the voices got closer. "And so then I said, 'I'll pay 20 gil and that's my final offer' but the cheapskate ripped me off big time by making me pay 30!" "Der.. that's alot?" "Of coarse it is, numskull!" the other voice hollored, his tone growing and lowering with every breath. Ryu listened closer than anyone else and right away he knew what they were. He tapped his sword hilt and narrowed his eyes around the ground. "What are those voices?" Silva whispered. Ryu answered stiffly, "Creatures of a terrible sort. They're Zood Raiders." "Zood whats?" Silva questioned, arching her eyebrow like the others could see her do it. "Zood Raiders. Cave goblins. If their weapons that are made by 'em don't get to ya', they're tempers will." Silva sniffed the air and pulled her neck back in discust. "They could at least clean after themselves. Oh yuck!" Ryu jumped at Silva and put a quick hand over her mouth. But it was too late. "Der... hear that boss." "Sure did. Let's go inves-inves-invest... how do we say it?" "Investigate?" "I know how to say it, dummy! Let's go!" The two Zood raiders ran along through the tunnels, getting closer to the 3 heros (heroine for Silva ;)) "Ah ha! I smell... humans..." the smart sounding goblin proclaimed. He sniffed the air, walked a few paces and slammed his foot on Silva's ankle. She screamed out in pain. "Hey!" Ryu said and punched the little green monster. Ryu started beating it with his sword hilt, but the little green man counter attacked and slammed Ryu extra hard into a jagged rock, inserting it into his back. "[I]AHHHH!!![/I] " As Ryu fell down in pain, and Silva was holding her ankle, the stupid goblin finally showed up. "Der... I think i smell humans, boss." "Oh shut up, Styloge. Holding it by the blade, she flung it at the voices in the dark. "DER!...boss, I hurt!" "Dummy!" The other voice drew close to Silva and she felt a clammy hand slap her face. Lugging Ryu's heavy sword, she swung out, only to feel the voice tug on the sword, stronger than her. "No blades for humans!" "RYU!" He lay still, not making a sound. Silva tugged desperately at the sword, losing her grasp. "RRRArrrrhhh!" Ragear lunged out and bit the meaner voice on the butt. "OWW--why you little--!" The voice tore the sword from Silva's grasp, and she felt sick as she heard it whistle through the air, then hit Ragear. The dragon shrieked, and spat fire. The fire hit the goblin, setting his greasy hair alight. He dropped the sword and ran about frantically, trying to put it out. Silva, now able to see, pulled the sword back toward her, and took stock of the situation. The second voice was the "Der" goblin, who now had Silva's dagger sunk deep in his throat. Ragear was limping, a wetness spreading on his small chest. Ryu was out cold. Then Silva noticed someone else was with them--two someone elses. They hid in the stagamite shadows, watching from a distance. Silva recognized them as the girl Riven and the dragon Kam. "Help us!" Silva called. The goblin looking for whoever she was calling to, but saw no one. Snarling, he yanked the dagger from his dead friend's throat, then back hand slapped Silva hard against the cave wall. He pressed one clammy hand against her throat, and pointed the dagger just above his grip. "Whoever else out there better show themselves. I kill if you not!" "Ryu...." Silva whispered pleadingly. Ragear sat up to charge the golbin, but was knocked back with a kick. The dragon whimpered painfully. Totally afraid, Silva cried out. "HELP!" Riven and Kam heard it clearly. As did Shiva. Dragon Warrior Posted November 25, 2001 Share Posted November 25, 2001 Shiva tried a narrow escape of the chains but failed. She could sense Silva's troubles, even if 6 miles away. Then, she used the only power she had left to break the chain: love. Blasting through them and knocking bandicoots off the cliff as she did, Shiva flew through the air faster than before. At this speed, Shiva would be there in less than 8 hours, counting the deadly traps and such. "Ryu... Riven.. Kam..." Silva said, gripping the goblin's hand and trying to release herself. There was a click and then POW! Riven and Kam combined strengths to knock over the goblin. Unfortunatly, the dagger left a tiny mark on Silva's neck. She held her hand up to it only to find her hand bloody. "That was close." she wimpered. Kam clicked. "Let's go *click*." But the Zood raider didn't give in. By tackling Riven and Kam with full force, he sent them clear through the wall and out of the cliff's cave, sending them tumbling. "Do.. OOF!... Something!!!" Riven pleaded as they fell and hit rocks along the way. "I... ACK!... can't! *CLICK*" "Hahahaha! You'd make a lovely bride for Lord Fruginial, my dear." The slimy-handed goblin placed a hand on Silva's right cheek but she slapped it away. "Ooo! Fiesty, are we? I might keep you for myself." Silva made a discusted look. "Never!" "Silva!" Ryu jumped out of nowhere (it's about time) and knocked the goblin straight into some jagged rocks. Ignoring his wound on his back, he readied himself for combat. "No one's taking Silva. Not you. Not some Lord Funkybreath or anyone." The goblin carefully took himself off the rocks, leaving blood on them. He limped over to Ryu, "And who are you? Her boyfriend?" "No. Spf! Never! Nope. Eh eh." The goblin arched his greasy eyebrow. "Really. Well, even if you are her boyfriend-" "I am not!" ".. I shall kill you with my dagger!!!! Huh?" The goblin reached to his belt but the dagger was gone. "Umm.. excuse me..." Ryu spoke and the goblin looked up at him. "Wouldn't you need this to pull off a trick like that?" Dangling from Ryu's hand was the Goblin's dagger. "AHH! Stupid human! Ooquik the Zood Raider doesn't need a dagger to fight! I shall kill you bare-clawed." "Suit yourself." Ryu nodded to Silva and she tossed him his sword. Ooquik charged at Ryu, claws out like he said. "Closer... just a little closer..." Ryu mumbled to himself, "closer... NOW!" One easy sweep and the goblin's head fell to the watery ground. "Eww! He reaks!" Silva complained. "Let's go, Please!" Ryu carried Silva down the passage for her ankle was now broken. They found an exit and the cliffside had a trail all the way down which was simple. What was not simple? Her head hurt something terrible. "What--where--?" The cave--those crazy goblins--Silva--falling--Kam-- Kam? "Kam--where are you?" She sat up painfully. "Kam?" Pulling herself up against a tree, she looked around. The small black and silver dragon was nowhere in site. "Kammy?" No answer. "Chameleon, [i]where are you??[/i]" Silence. She bit back tears. "[i]Kam?!?[/i]" ------------------------------------- Ryu stared at the line of trolls. "This is not good," he muttered. He looked around for another way to go. When he turned back--the trolls were no longer blocking the passage. "What the--?" He looked up. Siren had made it back onto Tann, and the pair of them were now coming in to land nearby.
