Brasil
Ooooohh....okay, I get you now. Here I was thinking G.M. was an Enchant. Silly me. Still, if we get a few Wars grouped together in a PvP situation, GM on the middle one may prove useful. It would only work for adjacent foes, of course, but if they're Wars anyway...in all likelihood, they'll be nearly shoulder-to-shoulder.
Final Remix
I hate that they shrunk a few of the AOE's and ranges and stuff... G.M. does require that they're shoulder-to-shoulder now, and Chain Lightning used to be able to arc through a group....Now they hafta be within sword's-range of each other. grrrrr oh yeah...by the way http://www.thegamespage.com/staff/remix/QKT%20-%20Wish.jpg
Desbreko
Well, I got to The Granite Citadel with Amelia today and decided to go ahead and take the plunge. Yes, that's right; I got her a set of 15k pyromancer robes. Luckily they didn't require any special materials, so I had more than enough cloth and scales to craft them. After adding in the cost of a replacement minor energy storage rune and eight purple dye, the total cost came to around 61,000 gold. But I'm happy with the choice. Take a look: I dyed the 15k set the same color as the Droknar's set, which was red/purple/purple. And I like the shade of pink that it ended up as on the 15k set better, too. Most of it is a lighter shade than on the Droknar's set, which is what I wanted to begin with. Also, I really like the white on the 15k set. I had been wishing that I could use silver dye on the black parts of the Droknar's set, so the white is perfect.

Annie
So yeah, that's [ASCENDED] Belial in her new Tormentor armor, dyed black. The Ascension mission was no cake walk for me. Not that it wasn't hard, it was just--a nightmare. Basically, if you don't know about GW, when you go to ascend, you fight your mirror. Whatever skills you take with you into battle, the mirror uses against you. It took me loads of times to "trial and error" the whole thing..but being a pure caster is difficult. What ended up happening was that I tossed ALL of my Mesmer skills, and used only 2 Necro skills. That's right, only 2. Take that and stick it in your back pocket. Now, mind you, I had decoys...and to my joy and victory, the plan worked. Necromancers have several skills that require a certain percentage of health points to take their affect. This would be bad for me if I used them. Because I would be more vulnerable to getting more damage, and health points taken away. However, I took three skills that required sacrifice and set them at the end of my skill bar so I wouldn't accidentally use them, and hoped he would use them. Then I took 3 other skills that did direct damage. Used Skill Set 1.) Shadow of Fear- Hex Spell. Target foe and all adjacent foes attack are 50% slower for the next 20 (flexible depending on attributes) seconds. [Curses] -->Used once. 2.) Vile Touch- Spell. Touch target foe to deal 49 (flexible depending on attributes) damage. [Death] -->Used several times, close combat. 3.) Vampiric Gaze- Steal 54 (flexible depending on attributes) health from target foe. [Blood] -->Used several times, close range or ranged combat. Bait Skill Set 1.) Demonic Flesh- Enchantment Spell. Sacrifice 20% max health. For 56 (depend on attributes) seconds, your maximum health is increased by 184 (depends on attributes). [Blood] 2.) Chilblains- Spell. You become Poisoned for 5 (depends on attributes) seconds. Nearby foe is struck for 20 (depends on attributes) cold damage and loses one Enchantment. [Curses] 3.) Dark Pact- Spell. Sacrifice up to 10% max health and deal 43 (depends on attributes) shadow damage to target foe. [Blood] So, my loophole was in the very begining. He immediately casted Demonic Flesh on himself, then Chilblains. Baaad move. I then struck him with Shadow of Fear, and continued to pelt him with an alternation of Vampiric Gaze and Vile Touch. It was a topsy turvy dance, and I got soooo close 2 times. But what do I always say? Third time's the charm. Yes...that third time, he and I were both down to like double-digit (LOW double-digit) health, and my V. Gaze was my salvation. I saw my health going down and couldn't stop it, but the V. Gaze recharged in the nick of time. So, I repeatedly hit the designated button, and casted..he dropped, I got my 1,000 points and skill point and went on my merry way. Tra-la. So the moral, he poisoned himself and sacrificed his health, to death. Poor him.
Chaos
*shakes fist at Al--oops, never mind. :P* Annie is muy sechseh, regardless that Alex's computer decided to start sucking. And, a general idea, we should do a crapload of GvG when I get back, AND we should all take on Glint; a full party of QKT members. I could couple that with the message I spelled out in my backyard with roof tiles and consider it a triumphant return. [I spelled out "I WiN" in roof tiles in my backyard, because I was right and my house is generally fine. : D] Glad to hear there is still a world going on outside of my little sphere. Good work with that, Annie. I knew you'd eventually get it. And we need more pictures of your sexy dominatrix set. Brasil
Okay, people, we're going to make sure all of you (or at least as many as possible) have at least one character Ascended, nearly maxed, and able to warp to Camp Rankor. Grenth's Footprint and Sorrow's Furnace were just released a few days ago, with all-new bosses, new areas, new quests, new skills (I hear one new skill per prof), new missions, and new items. Here's the list so far: http://www.guild-hall.net/forum/showthread.php?t=27316 We need to do a guild trip into Grenth's Footprint and Sorrow's Furnace. EDIT: Screw Camp Rankor. Granite Citadel is a much easier walk. (not so subtle hint!! wink wink) EDIT 2: Uhm......yeah. The Pick-up group I hooked up with was really good, but...doing a guild trip into Sorrow's Furnace first thing will not turn out well. I just made my first trip into there, and to do well, you need to know what to expect and where. I plan on hitting it a solid couple of more times before we take the guild down there, and I think Desbreko may, too. It's intense. Level 24 enemies are the norm, with massive Hexes, Resurrects, etc.

Mitch
Gah. I really need to start getting into this game again. I was, but then my comp got a virus and I got kicked off the school's network. Over labor day weekend my friend fixed it for me, though, so I can play again. I've got a lot of work to do till I get ascended. :(

Enemies are hard without just being overwhelming -- skill counts for a lot rather than just numbers -- and the place is huge. We explored for a at least three hours on the first run, and it looked like there was still quite a bit of area we hadn't covered. There are also quests that you can get while in the Furnace, and the xp you get both from them and just from killing things is insane. Especially since the collector items you get down there can be traded for xp-increasing scrolls. I think I gained three skill points during the course of the night, which translates to around 45,000 xp. And the gold. ... Man, the gold you get down there is crazy. It's easy to make a couple thousand just from gold drops, and then when you sell stuff back in town you can get even more. Or if you salvage things, the amount of crafting materials you can get is also crazy. I think I got close to 500 wood last night, from salvaging all the bow and staff drops. If you aren't already, Sorrow's Furnace will make you rich; if you are, it'll only make you richer.

Annie
So, Belial made it to Sorrow's Furnace. The first quest I tried to do was escorting Kilroy. Where you have to go through the Furnace and kill various groups of baddies and that jazz. Firstly, it took me a good while to even get to the Furnace. Then, when I finally get there, and start the quest, I get really damned far into the Furnace, and Kilroy decides to get his fatself killed. There was an area where there were two groups of enemies. One group, he totally ran right through and left me to get the aggro. The second group was about 6-7 Enslaved Ettins (massive, ugly mean things that do a good deal of damage), and he decides to run directly to them. I tried to get to him, but the group that I was stuck behind kept blocking me. By the time I got to Kilroy, I started casting a Well of Blood, but he died before the spell was finished. >: ( Nevertheless, I had a blast running through Grenth's Footrpint and the Furnace itself. The scenery in the Footprint is awesome, and incredible in the Furnace. The riches you get...Des was not exaggerating. When Warlock and I travled up the Footprint to get to the Camp, I banked like 1K. Then, running around in circles to get to the Furnace, I picked up about 2K of coin drops and weapons, crafting materials, etc. I kept what I needed/wanted, salvaged and/or sold the rest. So, Boss, you were looking to collect money...you're going to be very pleased.
Brasil
http://files.filefront.com/NecroSuckzip/;4125869;;/fileinfo.html This video is insane. I found a link to it on another messageboard, and...all Necros need to see it. For the love of God...all Necros need to see it. I'm also posting the link to what skill this All-Necro Spike Team uses...and it's equally absurd. http://guildwars.gameamp.com/guildwars/skill/443.php The video is pretty big (about 50 meg), so give yourself ample time to download it. The wait is worth it, though. I think I've figured out the finer details and attributes of the build itself, too, so if any have questions, I can answer to the best of my ability. ^_^ ***EDIT*** I'm figuring the one Necro's build went like this (and all of theirs, I would guess):
The Edge - Guild Wars Utility http://www.sovereignlegion.com/downloads/theedge.htm Class: Necromancer / Mesmer Attributes: (cost) '+' indicates Rune attributes Soul Reaping: 6 (21) Blood Magic: 11+2 (77) Curses: 12+4 (97) Total attribute points used: 195/200 Skills: [Attribute] (Energy, Cast Time, Recharge TIme) 1) Vampiric Gaze [Blood Magic] (10,1,5) Spell: Steal 55 health from target foe.[Ascalon City (Sir Bertran) Quest: Necromancer Test] 2) Awaken the Blood [Blood Magic] (10,1,45) Enchantment: For 41 seconds, you gain +2 Blood Magic and +2 Curses, but whenever you sacrifice health, you sacrifice 50% more than the normal amount.[Fisherman's Haven (Mazzim)] 3) Dark Pact [Blood Magic] (5,1,2) Spell: Sacrifice up to 10% health and deal 42 shadow damage to target foe.[Yak's Bend (Captain Osric) Quest: Death in the Ruins] 4) Feast of Corruption [Curses] (10,2,20) Spell: Target foe and all adjacent foes are struck for 84 shadow damage. You steal 43 health from each struck foe who is suffering from a hex. This is an elite skill.[Boss: Maw the Mountain Heart (Dreadnaught's Drift)] 5) Shadow Strike [Blood Magic] (10,2,8) Spell: Target foe takes 43 shadow damage. If that foe's health is above 50%, you steal 43 health.[Yak's Bend (Captain Osric) Quest: Casualty Report] 6) Parasitic Bond [Curses] (5,1,2) Hex: For 20 seconds, target foe suffers health degeneration of 1. You are healed for 126 health when Parasitic Bond ends.[Yak's Bend (Captain Osric) Quest: Oberan's Rage] 7) Desecrate Enchantments [Curses] (15,2,15) Spell: Target foe and all nearby foes take 63 shadow damage and 21 shadow damage for each enchantment on them.[Marhan's Grotto (Harnil)] 8) Arcane Echo [none] (15,2,30) Enchantment: If you cast a spell in the next 10 seconds, Arcane Echo is replaced with that spell for 20 seconds. Arcane Echo ends prematurely if you use a non-spell skill.[Beetletun (Ephaz)]
The skill synergy here is absolutely brilliant. I'd call attention to Arcane Echo being used in conjunction with Feast of Corruption. It effectively counters the recharge time for the first FoC by copying it into Arcane Echo's slot. The video demonstrates this, and it's bloody effective. The Necro was firing FoC off in successions of about 15 or 17 seconds, so the recharge has certainly been worked around. Don't have too much time, because I'm rather hungry, and late night donuts are sounding real good right now, but I'll hit the major points of why this build is worthwhile. I've made my own modifications to the skill set, by the way, because I never carry Rez Sig for a variety of reasons, the main one being in PvE, if I ever would need to use it, I'd be the last one standing with enemies still aggroing, so I'd be dead anyway. In PvP, same idea. But I'll hit a few of the strengths that remained intact during my transposition. Parasitic Bond. Very spammable. Low cost. Fast recharge. Nice duration. Fire them off at a few targets, then follow-up with FoC. P. Bond is a good, solid set-up for the combo. V. Gaze (added by me). During the video, when the target didn't have any Hexes on them and their health was in that Danger Sliver area, and the Necro's FoC was recharging, there was no real effective way to finish them off, apart from a ranged wand attack. Shadow Strike could be used, yes, but unless the target is above 50% health, it'll have roughly the same, if not lower, effectiveness of V.Gaze. So...yeah. V.Gaze is by no means to keep your health up. Only to finish off the target if the spike damage didn't (and that's rare). And speaking of keeping health up, FoC does that, in addition to the roughly 126 health you gain when P.Bond ends. P.Bond's end conditions are surprisingly diverse. Either the Hex's duration actually runs out, or the Hex is...forced off, like the target dying. And that does work, too. I've seen it happen in PvE. When you have multiple P.Bonds casted, with FoC firing, and also Desecrate Enchantments, that's easily 300 health coming your way, only from 2 enemies.. Not to mention the health steals FoC grants, too. Dark Pact (added by me) could also be replaced by something else. Will devise something later. *goes to get some donuts* ***EDIT*** Mmm...that hit the spot. Two skills to consider: Suffering and Shadow of Fear. AoE Hexes. Good durations, good recharges. Excellent for the FoC combo.

Annie
Roffle. Ah, that was a flippin' awesome quest. I went with Des into the Furnace to complete the quest for the High Priest. We had to gather 4 crystals that were spread throughout the area around the Priest's altar, while fighting through dozens of enemies to get to them. On top of that, we had to protect the Priest from random patrols/attacks by the enemy. So, what we decided to try (and to our success) splitting up. Des was playing with the most awesomested Monk in the entire game, Arik, and I with Belial--of course. He helped me in the first group, but we all had to hurry back to the Priest to protect him. While Des stayed with the Priest, I went out with the henchies (except for Cynn some of the time, she really likes Arik O_o) and gathered the crystals. But every now and again, me and the henchs had to run back to Des to help slaughter  Mucho fun. Running around in the Furnace, then running back to Des and the Priest. Very good fun. Now, that nipple picture..>>; I won't tell you anything!
Brasil
Protective Spirit - Enchantment Spell For 5-19 seconds, target ally cannot lose more than 10% health due to damage from a single attack or spell. Healing Seed - Enchantment Spell For 8 seconds, whenever target other ally takes damage, that ally and all adjacent allies gain 3-25 health. Healing Breeze - Enchantment Spell For 10 seconds, target ally gains health regeneration of 3-8. Blessed Signet - Signet For each "Enchantment" you are maintaining, you gain 3 Energy, maximum 3-20. Life Bond - Enchantment Spell While you maintain this enchantment, whenever target other ally takes damage from an attack, half the damage is redirected to you. The damage you receive this way is reduced 3-25 points. Blessed Aura - Enchantment Spell While you maintain this "Enchantment", Monk Enchantments you cast last 10-30% longer. Awaken the Blood - Enchantment Spell For 20-39 seconds, you gain +2 Blood Magic and +2 Curses, but whenever you sacrifice health, you sacrifice 50% more than the normal amount. Offering of Blood {Elite} - Spell Sacrifice 10% of maximum health. You gain 8-18 energy. James
Whew, I haven't posted in this thread for a long time. I haven't been in the game as much as I'd have liked to, but then again, I guess I've been in there a decent amount of time lately. I guess the most exciting thing in recent times is definitely Sorrow's Furnace. For those guild members who are near Ascension, I can only really say that there's still plenty to do, even after you've Ascended. Sorrow's Furnace and the areas surrounding it really provide some very cool opportunities in terms of new quests and new missions. Also, the others were not kidding when they talked about the sheer value of killing things in the Furnace. Not only is the XP pretty good, but the value of items (and the raw value from gold pick-ups) is pretty high. I think I made approximately 4 Platinum from simply doing one quest and exploring the area with another team. This is really useful not just in terms of buying the higher level armor and such, but it's also great to be able to provide gold to your lower level characters. It'll give them a good head-start as they move into the game. So what else...well, two things I guess. The lesser news is that I've created a new character, which has a Mo/N profession setup. So far I'm really enjoying it - I'm finding that once people have spent a lot of time with their preferred combinations, they are starting to branch out a bit and explore. There always seems to be a demand for monks, so that's good. But more importantly, I'm actually finding primary monk to be a lot of fun. Finally - and more importantly - I am really hoping to get some quality time soon to build a site for our guild. I doubt that it will be anything major; I want to create something simple and elegant, which is easy to construct and which we can update nice and easily. That way, we can continually add more information and we can update the information for our characters. What I'd like to do is have a page where each member and their characters are listed. Then, hopefully, we can make it so that this data can be updated (so that if you delete a character and begin a new one, you can update that on the site). At least, I'm hoping to do something along those lines. We'll see how it goes. This might be a good place for people to contribute and make suggestions about the site, too. I am thinking that it will be established at qkt.otakuboards.com, considering that it is OB's first "official" guild/clan.
Meggido
ooo. A guild website is a sweet idea. I think next week I may comeback for some hardcore Guild Wars time as I've been playing WoW too much and need a break.
Annie
Oh dear, I forgot to post a pic of what Belial looks like in a silver scar pattern. Also, I'd like to take this time to apologize to you guys for not being around so much. I had to do my weekend for the Air Guard, and I worked at the Topic Saturday night. Needless to say, I've been running around like a chicken with its head cut off. I'm exhausted at the moment, and I work tomorrow morning to afternoon; I'll most likely be in-game tomorrow night. BTW, Alex, I got your voicemail, but I just couldn't summon the energy to call you back. Plus my phone was being a prick.
Brasil
Ya'll are gonna love Thunderhead Keep. Annie and Neil had the distinct pleasure of going through it with me earlier tonight. Or is it the other way around? I had the distinct pleasure...either way, distinct pleasure was had by all, because it's an incredible mission. It's basically one huge assault game, with you defending a dwarven capital from an army of Mursaat, Jade Armors/Bows, Stone Summit, etc. I text messaged Annie earlier about how fun it was. She was very satisfied. ~_^ I'd wish the assault waves were a bit more frequent, though. As it stands, it's a challenge, but it feels more like nasty trick or treaters than beasts straight out of hell--especially when I was defending one entrance solo every so often as Mila, my Ranger. It was like this: Longbow, on a bit of a walkway over the door, with the height-based damage multiplier for Rangers and Ignite Arrow for splash damage. I'd love to see a variation of Thunderhead Keep for guild battles in the future. It'd be like buttah.
Annie
Oh yes, Thunderhead Keep was so much fun. It was easier than I thought, even when we got bombarded. Riverside Province? Nah, that was a great mission (and is still really fun to do any time); but Thunderhead Keep was just kick-***. I'll gladly go back and do that with anyone. Getting flanked, running back and forth from pwning Jade and Mantle, protecting the King at the same time. It was just pure thrill. Neil slaughtered, Alex coordinated and picked off baddies from afar with Mila, the Beast, and I did fairly well. I didn't die, so that was good. So if anyone wants assistance when you get to that mission, I'll go with.
Brasil
One of the coolest moments during Thunderhead Keep was when the king got rushed by two Jade Bows, and Annie and Neil were slapping a few White Mantle around at the West Gate, I think. I was, too. Then I saw two red cons steadily gliding up the Eastern walkway toward old Ironhammer. I thought, "Aw, sh-t," activated Escape (awesome Elite ranger stance by the way) and dashed up there to pop an arrow at one of the Bows so I could at least draw one aggro away from the king. It worked, but Jade Bows (and their melee counterpart, Jade Armors) do nasty physical damage, so I needed some sort of physical damage mitigation. Hello, Throw Dirt. Close-quarters AoE Blind for up to 13 seconds. I hoped to nab the other Jade Bow with it, but he was just out of range. Then he aggroed on me. Then he got in range for Epidemic. Epidemic spreads all conditions to adjacent enemies. Moment he got to me, I hit Epidemic and suddenly I didn't have to worry about physical damage from either of those big, purple goons. Iffy thing about Throw Dirt is a 45-second recharge, so I was going to have downtime of 30 seconds or so where I didn't have any cover. But I also brought along Lightning Reflexes (and Escape had recharged by then, as well) so as I anticipated Throw Dirt's Blind effect wearing off, I activated L.R. The beauty about L.R. is it also increases my attack speed by 33%, and coupled with my Ignite Arrows skill, Dual Shot, and a short bow (fastest bow in the game), there were explosions everywhere. =D L.R. needs to be tweaked, though, because it lasts for 10 seconds, but has a recharge similar to Throw Dirt. When L.R. wore off, though, Escape was ready, the recharge only 30 seconds, and its duration 15 seconds, which is pretty good. As the Bows were trying to hit me, dearest Neil had run up and started smacking one of them around. I took the opportunity to slide out from in-between them, took to a vantage point where I could get a bit of a height multiplier, and started plinking away at their health. "Plinking" is an understatement, because Mila is a BEAST! I love Thunderhead Keep.
